SEVERAL INSTANCES OF KEY NOT RELEASING FROM IGNITION. THIS IS SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE YOU CANT LEAVE YOUR CAR PARKED IN PUBLIC WITHOUT RISK. SUPPOSEDLY AN ISSUE MENTIONED BY PREVIOUS OWNERS OF THIS VEHICLE.
BESIDES THE NUMEROUS PROBLEMS I HAVE HAD WITH ELECTRICAL ISSUES, ETC. WHEN I BOUGHT THIS NEW 2015 RENEGADE, I AM NOW ON 55,000 MILES AND THE MOTOR FAN IS GOING OUT. WHEN THE FAN COMES ON YOU CAN HEAR THE BEARING GRINDING WHICH PROGRESSIVELY HAS GOTTEN LOUDER AND IS IMPOSSIBLE TO IGNORE. MY BEST FRIEND BOUGHT THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL AND HER FAN JUST WENT OUT LEAVING THE VEHICLE OVERHEATED AND HER STUCK ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. IT'S NOT LIKE JEEP IS NOT AWARE OF THIS ISSUE SINCE THERE ARE NUMEROUS ONLINE BOARDS AND YOUTUBE VIDEOS ON HOW TO REPLACE THE FAN IF YOU CAN'T AFFORD THE $600+ TO HAVE THE DEALERSHIP DO IT IF YOU ARE OUT OF WARRANTY. I AM JUST OUT OF WARRANTY AND MY HUSBAND JUST HAD BYPASS HEART SURGERY SO OUR PLANS TO HAVE HIM REPLACE IT ARE OUT AND I CAN'T AFFORD TO HAVE IT FIXED WITH HIS MEDICAL EMERGENCY SO IT IS PARKED AS I LIVE IN A RURAL AREA AND CAN'T AFFORD FOR IT TO STRAND ME ON THE ROADWAY. THIS IS MY 3RD AND LAST JEEP. IT HAS BEEN A PIECE OF CRAP.
THE FUEL FILLER TUBE BROKE OFF, WITH MINOR GAS SPILLAGE. SEEMINGLY IMPOSSIBLE THEN TO REFUEL. HAD TO HAVE A $950 REPAIR/REPLACEMENT PART. OBVIOUSLY PROBLEM OCCURRED AT THE PUMP.
TAKATA RECALL - SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT KEEPS POPPING UP
TRANSMISSION HARD SHIFTING INTO 1ST 2ND AND 3RD THAT CAUSES VECHILE TO SLOW DRASTICALLY THEN LUNGE INTO GEARS.

THE FAN TO THE ENGINE SEEMS LOOSE AND IS MAKING NOISE.
WAS DRIVING ON CITY STREET WHEN REALIZED THAT AIR CONDITIONING HAD STOPPED COOLING. SAW THAT HEAT GAUGE LEVEL WAS COMPLETELY INTO THE RED (HIGHEST) READING. MESSAGE APPEARED WARNING THAT THERE WAS A COOLING ISSUE. WAS ABLE TO PULL INTO A PARKING LOT AND HAD AAA TOW CAR TO A GARAGE. IT WAS FOUND THAT THE RADIATOR MOTOR FAN HAD STOPPED WORKING, RESULTING IN FULL REPLACEMENT OF THAT AS WELL AS THERMOSTAT. COST WAS $866.55! ONLINE RESEARCH HAS SHOWN THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS MODEL OF JEEP.
2015 JEEP RENEGADE SPORT 4X4 2.4L 52,000 MILES. NOTICEABLE FAN NOISE AND VIBRATION FROM ELECTRIC ENGINE COOLING FAN, THE THEN VEHICLE OVERHEATED, SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. SERVICE 4X4 LIGHT CAME ON, AND 4X4 FUNCTIONS FAILED AND COULD NOT SWITCH THE 4X4 FUNCTIONS. ERROR CODE:P0481 FAN CONTROL CIRCUIT. FAILED RELAY SWITCH. EFFECTING DRIVETRAIN FAILURE WITH THE 4X4 SYSTEM, COOLING FAN FAILURE, STALLING OF THE VEHICLE, AND ENGINE DAMAGE FROM OVERHEATING. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE KNOWN TO THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALERSHIPS THAT NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED AND RECALLED FOR THE OBVIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. COOLING FAN FUSE BLOWN (50AMP @ LOCATION F05).

IGNITION KEY IS HARD TO REMOVE. VEHICLE STOPPED, TURNED OFF AND CAN NOT BE TAKEN OUT OF IGNITION.

THE DEALER (SHEETS CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM, 250 AUTO PLAZA DRIVE, BECKLEY, WV 25801, (304)-252-4555) WAS CONTACTED TO SCHEDULE A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,941. **TR THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. *JS
DRIVING ON INTERSTATE WHEN JEEP RENEGADE UNEXPECTEDLY STARTED TO CUT OFF. IT FELT LIKE IT WAS SHAKING AND SHUDDERING. GOT OFF AT EXIT AND VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACT LIKE IT WAS GOING TO CUT OFF, ESPECIALLY WHEN STOPPED AT A LIGHT OR STOP SIGN OR WHEN MAKING A TURN AFTER STOPPING. MADE IT HOME. TURNED IT OFF AND THEN BACK ON. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON. THERE WAS NO ADVANCED WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD PRIOR TO THE JEEP UNEXPECTANTLY SLOWING DOWN. THERE WAS NO BURNING SMELL. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED ON MONDAY, AUGUST 20, 2018 TO JEEP DEALER IN LEWISBURG, WV. THEY SAY IT COULD BE A WEEK BEFORE THEY ARE ABLE TO LOOK AT IT AND I AM WITHOUT A VEHICLE. I WANTED IT TAKEN TO A VIRGINIA DEALER WHO COULD LOOK AT IT SOONER BUT ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE SAID THE WV DEALER WAS CLOSER.
I WAS DRIVING THE COOLANT TEMP TOO HIGH WENT INTO THE RED AND I HAD TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED.AFTER SPEAKING WITH THE MECHANICS AT JEEP.THE COOLING FAN BROKE. HAS TO BE REPLACED 40,000 MILES ON VEHICLE. AND A FUSE AMP IS BLOWN AS WELL.ON CARPROBLEMZOO.COM THERE ARE OVER 30 COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE COOLING FAN BREAKING OR STOP WORKING. THE VEHICLE OVERHEATED WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED, THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED, AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT HAD TO WAIT A BRIEF MOMENT TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (FAYETTEVILLE CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM, 1223 HUNTSVILLE HWY, FAYETTEVILLE, TN 37334, (931) 227-4899) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUSE WAS BLOWN DUE TO THE RADIATOR COOLING FAN FRACTURING AND THE PARTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER INDICATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL CAMPAIGN OR MANUFACTURER SERVICE CAMPAIGN. THE MANUFACTURER SUGGESTED THAT THE CONTACT TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIRS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE NOT AVAILABLE. *TT AUTOMATIC LOCKS WHEEL STUD WRENCH UPDATED 10/2/18*JB
FAN STOPPED WORKING CAUSING CAR TO OVERHEAT AND SMOKE WHILE IDLE. CANNOT DRIVE THE CAR. ALSO HAVE HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE DAY TIME RUNNING LIGHT BLOWING OUT. HAD THE LIGHT FIXED THREE TIMES IN A FEW MONTHS AND BLEW A FOURTH TIME. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP EVERY SINGLE TIME AND IT'S CURRENTLY OUT BC THEY OBVIOUSLY DON'T KNOW HOW TO FIX IT SO IT'S A WASTE OF TIME.
43,XXX MILES AND MY COOLING FAN HAS FAILED.
MY CAR STARTED RUNNING HOT WHILE ON THE ROAD. I WAS ABLE TO GET TO AUTO MECHANIC AND THEY FOUND RADIATOR COOLING FAN HAS LOCKED UP. NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AFTER ONLY 60,000 MILES, 3 YEAR OLD CAR. THIS IS DANGEROUS PROBLEM IF I WERE ON A LONG ROAD TRIP. PLEASE RECALL VEHICLE FOR THIS PROBLEM SINCE IT SEEMS VERY COMMON.
RADIATOR COOLING FAN MAKING NOISE, GETTING STUCK. MY CAR STALLED AND LOST POWER CAUSING TO DECELERATE.
DRIVER SIDE POWER SEAT BLOWS FUSES AND IT GETS STUCK IN ODD POSITIONS, IT HAS HAPPENED WHEN DRIVING AND PARKED. THIS IS MY MOTHER IN LAW'S APPOINTMENT CAR AND ME AND MY WIFE HAVE THE NEED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE TO HER APPOINTMENTS AS ONE TIME SHE TOOK IT BY HERSELF AND BEING DISABLED SHE ALWAYS BACKS THE SEAT TO GET IN AND OUT EASIER, WELL THE SEAT GOT STUCK AND SHE HAD TO DRIVE IT HOME LIKE THAT BARELY REACHING THE PEDALS AS NO ONE WAS AVAILABLE TO DRIVE IT FOR HER AND WE WERE 30 HOURS AWAY IN ANOTHER STATE. WE MOVED AND HAVE BEEN ARGUING WITH THE FACTORY AND 2 DEALERSHIPS EVER SINCE. ALSO THE BRAKES ARE ALWAYS SQUEALING AND BARELY STOPS THE CAR WHEN HOT, THEY LOOK WORN OUT AND GLAZED, DEALER SAID THIS IS NORMAL FOR THE CAR.
TRANSMISSION MAY NOT BE WORKING CORRECTLY THE DATE IS A ROUGH ESTIMATE BUT IT HAS BEEN DOING SOMETHING WEIRD LIKE JUMPING WHEN YOU PUT IT INTO REVERSE AND THEN DRIVE SO ANOTHER PERSON TOLIYME IT MAY BE TRANSMISSION RECALL ON IT SO I'M JUST CHECKING
BRAKES, PADS AND ROTORS WERE FUNCTIONING PROPERLY AT 57K OIL CHANGE/TIRE ROTATION, MULTIPOINT INSPECTION AT JEEP DEALERSHIP. AT 63K RIGHT FRONT BRAKE PAD, SHOE & ROTOR COMPLETELY WORN, ROTOR DAMAGED, ALL BEYOND USE, AND REQUIRE IMMEDIATE REPLACEMENT. LEFT FRONT BRAKE PAD, AND SHOE ARE NOT WORN, BUT BECAUSE OF THE PRESSURE FROM THE OTHER WHEEL, NEED REPLACED. SCREECHING SOUND WHEN LETTING OFF THE BRAKE CONTINUES AFTER BOTH SETS OF FRONT BRAKE PADS, SHOES, & ROTORS ARE REPLACED. FAN ASSEMBLY IS LOSE AND HITTING OTHER COMPONENTS, UNFIXABLE. FAN HAS TO BE REPLACED. . VEHICLE TOP AND INTERIOR BEGAN CREAKING AT 50-60K MILES AS IF UNEVENLY SUPPORTED BY SHOCKS/CV JOINTS/SOMETHING WITHIN THE BRAKE/AXLE/STRUT/SHINE/CV/BALL JOINTS. POPPING NOISE COMES FROM EXTERIOR FRONT WHEN STARTING OUT. LETTING OF THE BRAKES FROM AFTER A STOP OR AFTER BEING PARKED MAKES A GRINDING NOISE AS IF CREAKING UNDER PRESSURE. ALSO ENGINE LIGHT INTERMITTENTLY ON, THERMOSTAT ERROR BUT NOT CONSISTENT OR ABLE TO BE RECTIFIED BY DEALERSHIP. CABIN TEMPERATURE, ENGINE TEMPERATURE, AND THERMOSTAT FUNCTIONING NORMALLY. ISSUE REMAINS U RESOLVED. HARSH BRAKING IS A SECURITY CONCERN.
THIRD TIME MY RENEGADE TURN OFF WHEN I WAS DRIVING AT THE HIGHWAY. THAT MAKES A DISCONTROL IN THE TRANSMISSION. I TURNED THE RIGHT TO STOP HARDLY. THEN IN ABOUT 30 MINUTES I CAN TURN ON THE RENEGADE.
THE EMERGENCY KEY BLADE FALLS OUT OF THE KEY FOB. I THOUGHT IT WAS MY FAULT FOR OVER USE BUT WHEN IT HAPPENED WITH MY SECOND KEY FOB THAT I PULLED THE BLADE FROM ONLY ONCE FELL OUT AND WAS LOST AFTER ONE MONTH OF USE. VERY POOP DESIGN. THE FIRST TIME I FOUND THE BLADE IN MY POCKET, THE NEXT TIME IT FELL OUT I WASN'T SO LUCKY. NOW I HAVE TWO FOBS WITH NO KEYS
THE VEHICLE TURN OFF AGAIN (SECOND TIME) WHEN I WAS DRIVING. THATS MAKE A DISCONTROL IN THE TRANSMISSION AND I CANT TURN ON THE VEHICLE. I WENT TODAY 06/09/2018 TO A JEEP DEALER IN PUERTO RICO ANS THEY SAID THE JEEP IS OK. EVERYTHING IS OK.
HARD SHIFTS IN THE FIRST FEW GEARS ( HARD JURKS) AND ALSO CLUNKS.. WHEN MOVING SHIFTER INTO AND OUT OF PARK, NUTERUAL, REVERSE AND DRIVE IT CLUNKS.. HESITATES TO SHIFT WHEN STOPPED OR SLOW MOVING. WHEN ON HIGHWAY HAS ALOT OF DRAGGED HAS HARD TIME KEEPING SPEED AND WHEN PASSING IT TAKE THE VEHICLE FEW SECONDS TO SPEED UP, HAVE TO PUSH PEDDLE TO THE FLOOR AND AFTER FEW SECONDS IT FINALLY SPEEDS UP. IN CRUISE CONTROL ITS CONSTANTLY HAVING A HARD TIME KEEPING ITS SPEED CONSTANTLY JUMPING INTO HIGHER GEARS TO CATCH UP TO THE SET CRUISE SETTING. EVERY TIME I TAKE IT TO THE SHOP AND ASK WHATS GOING ON THEY SAY ITS HOW THE JEEP RENEGADE WAS MADE, ITS NORMAL FOR IT TO DO ALL THIS.
THE 9 SPEED TRANSMISSION SHIFTS ROUGHLY AND HESITATES WHEN SHIFTING FROM 1ST TO 2ND TO 3RD GEARS. THIS IS MAINLY WHEN COLD. IT IS SOMEWHAT BETTER WHEN WARM. THE SHIFTING AT TIMES MAKES THE CAR HESITATE AS IT ACCELERATES. CAN MAKE DRIVERS NERVOUS THAT THEY WILL STALL. DEALERSHIPS HAVE SOFTWARE UPDATES, BUT THE RESULTS ARE MARGINAL. I BOUGHT THE CAR USED THIS PAST MAY. I HAD THE UPDATE DONE. I HAVE ABOUT 24000 MILES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 JEEP RENEGADE. WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH, THE VEHICLE JERKED AND STALLED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER (FAMILY CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM, 6735 ESSINGTON AVE, PHILADELPHIA, PA 19153, (215) 492-8600) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT AN OIL CHANGE WAS NEEDED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. ALSO, WHILE DRIVING AT UNKNOWN SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE MADE AN ABNORMAL SQUEAKING NOISE AND STALLED. THE CONTACT NOTICED SMOKE EMERGING FROM THE GRILL AREA AND OIL LEAKING ONTO THE GROUND. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE SAME DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS NO OIL IN THE VEHICLE AND THE ENGINE MAY NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,000.
MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON,MY A/C BLOWS HOT AIR AND ON 5/22/2018 MY ELECTRIC E BREAK LOCKED UP WHILE I WAS DRIVING! IN THE PARK WHERE I LIVE.
THE COOLANT FAN WENT OFF TRACK AND STARTED SQUEALING AND GETTING STUCK, CAUSING THE FUSE TO BLOW. WITHIN A MONTH, AND AFTER REPLACING THE FUSE 3 TIMES, THE FAN MOTOR STOPPED WORKING AND BURNT UP COMPLETELY. ATTEMPTED TO REPLACE IT WITH ANOTHER FAN, AND IT BLEW THE FUSE AGAIN AND BURNT UP THE NEW FAN MOTOR ALSO. ALSO, WITHIN THE LAST MONTH (TODAY BEING 9/20/2018) MY CAR HAS BEEN JUMPING AND SHAKING WHEN IN DRIVE MODE. MAINLY OCCURS AFTER SPEEDS OF 40+ MPH HAVE BEEN REACHED AND WHEN VEHICLE HAS BEEN DRIVEN FOR A LONGER LENGTH OF TIME.
AMONG OTHER ISSUES, THE ENGINE CUTS OUT WHILE DRIVING. THIS HAS HAPPENED FIVE TIMES TO ME, AND ALL APPEAR TO OCCUR WHILE MAKING TURNS AT LOW-MODERATE SPEED (<30MPH); THIS IS THE ONLY CONSISTENT FACTOR WHEN THE ENGINE CUTS OUT (DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE AFFECTED BY WEATHER OR DRIVE/RUN TIME). THE FIRST TIME OCCURRED AROUND 30K MILES - THE ENGINE LOST POWER WHILE MAKING A RIGHT TURN ON LOCAL STREETS. VEHICLE'S DISPLAY FLASHED A NUMBER OF WARNING LIGHTS BEFORE INDICATING "VEHICLE NOT IN SHIFT TO PARK." ELECTRICAL SYSTEM APPEARED FULLY FUNCTIONAL. I WAS ABLE TO DRIFT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND RESTARTED MY CAR AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS. THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT AND ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL WARNING REMAINED. THE NEXT RESTART REMOVED THE ETC WARNING. THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT WAS REMOVED AFTER 4 RESTARTS (WITH REGULAR DRIVING). I BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP, WHERE THEY UPDATED A MODULE AND I HAD TO PAY TO CLEAN THE ETC SENSOR (IT WAS ALLEGEDLY "STICKY" AND TRIGGERING A FALSE WARNING). RECENTLY, WITHIN THE LAST WEEK, THE ENGINE HAS CUT OUT ON ME 4 TIMES. THE FIRST TWO INSTANCES WERE BACK-TO-BACK (ONE ON EXITING A ROUNDABOUT), FOLLOWED BY A RIGHT-HAND TURN @ APPROX. 37200 MILES. IN BOTH INSTANCES I WAS IN THE FAR-RIGHT LANE AND ABLE TO DRIFT TO SAFETY. THE ENGINE STUTTERED UPON TRYING TO PUSH-TO-START BUT I WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE ENGINE AFTER FEW ATTEMPTS. THE NEXT MORNING, "OIL LOW" FLICKERED AND "TRACTION CONTROL OFF" LIT UNTIL ENGINE RESTART. OIL WAS/IS NOT LOW. AT 37400 MILES, THE ENGINE DIED WHILE MAKING A LEFT-HAND TURN ON A 5-LANE STREET AT NIGHT. AT 37450 MILES, THE ENGINE DIED IN THE MORNING WHILE MAKING A RIGHT-HAND TURN ON A MAIN ROAD. ALL OF THESE INSTANCES OCCURRED WITHOUT ANY WARNING (OTHER THAN "VEHICLE NOT IN SHIFT TO PARK" AFTER ENGINE CUT OUT) AND WITHOUT LOSS OF ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE.
THE RADIATOR COOLING FAN MALFUNCTIONED AFTER JUST 50,000 MILES. VEHICLE IS ONLY 2 1/2 YEARS OLD. JEEP WILL NOT COVER THIS UNDER WARRANTY AS THEY SAY IT ISN'T PART OF THE DRIVETRAIN. AFTER READING NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM ON YOUR DATABASE I FEEL THIS IS A KNOWN MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT THAT SHOULD BE RECALLED. FAILURE CAN HAPPEN AT ANY TIME AND COULD RESULT IN A BLOWN MOTOR AND/OR OTHER DAMAGES RESULTING IN A VEHICLE CRASH CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. IT'S TIME THAT THE NHTSA ACTS FOR THE CONSUMER AND FORCES JEEP TO A RECALL AND REPLACEMENT OF THE FAN. NORMAL LIFE EXPECTANCY OF ELECTRIC FANS IS WELL OVER 5 YEARS/100,000 MILES. THIS PARTICULAR FAN IS, IN MOST CASES, NOT EVEN LASTING HALF THAT TIME. THE PROBLEM IS SO WIDESPREAD THAT JEEP RAN OUT OF THEM AND HAD/HAS LONG WAIT TIMES. DURING THIS PERIOD THE VEHICLE IS UNUSABLE. THIS IS REALLY UNACCEPTABLE FOR SUCH A NEWER MODEL VEHICLE.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ANOTHER LOCAL DEALER (MELLOY DODGE, 9621 COORS BLVD NW, ALBUQUERQUE, NM 87114, (888) 760-4136) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION, AIR TUBING, AND INTAKE TUBING AND RETEST ON THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,864. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

INSPECTED BY SERVICE MANAGER WHO DOCUMENTED PANEL APPEARS WARPED AT FRONT DRIVERS EDGE. 'PART IS SECURE.' ON WAY HOME PART FLEW OFF WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AT POSTED HIGHWAY SPEED. REPORTED TO JEEP DEALERSHIP AND CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE AT JEEP HEADQUARTERS. INCIDENT REPORTED AND GIVEN CASE FILE NUMBER FOR CASE REVIEW. EXPRESSED CONCERN OVER SAFETY OF HAVING THIS PART FLY OFF THE ROOF TWICE NOW. THIS TIME THE PART STAYED ON LESS THAN 1 WEEK AND WE HAD EXPRESSED CONCERN THAT THE PART STILL SEEMED INSECURE WHILE AT THE DEALERSHIP RIGHT AFTER THE REPLACEMENT WAS DONE. IT IS A 2015 JEEP RENEGADE AND THE PROBLEM IS THE 9 SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. I CAUSES JERKS WHEN SHIFTING AND WHEN STOPPING CAUSES A BIG JERK AT THE VERY END OF BRAKING AT A STOP SIGN OR LIGHT FOR EXAMPLE.
THE RENEGADE TURN OFF WHEN I'M DRIVING AT LEAST 4 TIMES IN THIS YEAR. THATS MAKE A DISCONTROL IN THE TRANSMISSION.

LOOKED IT UP AND THERE ARE NUMEROUS PEOPLE WITH THE SAME ISSUE AND APPARENTLY THE PART IS BACK ORDERED FOR MONTHS, WHICH MEANS I AM PAYING FOR A VEHICLE I CANNOT DRIVE. SEEMS LIKE A MANUFACTURER ISSUE TO ME. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL.

THE RADIATOR FAN IS CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO OVERHEAT. IT IS BREAKING DUE TO NOT HAVING A HEAT SHIELD ON IT AND IT IS CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO OVERHEAT. JEEP FIXES THE PROBLEMS IN THE LATE 2016 MODELS BY PUTTING IN A METAL FAN AND TOOK OUT THE PLASTIC FAN. FEAR OF RENEGADE CATCHING FIRE. VEHICLE OVERHEATS IN THE PARKING LOT.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON A HIGHWAY IN AZ THE FRONT PANEL OF THE SLIDINGSKY SUNROOF FLEW OFF THE ROOF. HAVE BEEN ISSUES WITH THIS ROOF SINCE PURCHASED BRAND NEW IN NH. HAD BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AT LEAST TWICE PREVIOUSLY FOR ONGOING RATTLING, INCOMPLETE CLOSURE AND EXCESSIVE WIND NOISE FROM THIS ROOF. EVENTUALLY, THEY SUPPOSEDLY REPLACED THE ROOF UNIT BUT THE ISSUES HAVE CONTINUED ULTIMATELY RESULTING IN THIS LATEST ISSUE OF THE FRONT ROOF PIECE LITERALLY BLOWING OFF THE VEHICLE. IT HAS BEEN BROUGHT INTO A DEALERSHIP IN ARIZONA FOR REPAIR AND WE EXPRESSED OUR CONCERN OVER THIS POTENTIALLY BEING A HAZARD TO OTHER DRIVERS ON THE TOAD THAT COULD RESULT IN INJURY TO OTHERS. THE DEALERSHIP EXPRESSED NO OPINION OR CONCERN OTHER THAN THEY WOULD REPLACE THE PIECE THAT CAME OFF THE VEHICLE
THERE IS A POWER SURGE AT TIMES AND MAJORITY OF TIMES THERE IS A "LULL" OF POWER AT TAKE OFF. UPON DEPARTURE AT A STOP LIGHT, THERE IS HESITATION WHEN GAS IS APPLIED SO YOU HAVE TO HEAVILY APPLY GAS. OTHER TIMES YOU GO TO PARK AND COME TO STOP THEN THE CAR SURGES BEFORE PLACING IN PARK. I HAVE REPORTED THIS TO MY DEALER SINCE PURCHASE SEVERAL TIMES SINCE MARCH 2018 WITH NO RESOLVE. THEY STATE NO RECALL AND NOTHING SHOWS UP WHEN TESTING IT. VEHICLE STILL
A LOUD WOBBLING SOUND WAS NOTICED FROM THE ENGINE BAY OF THE VEHICLE. INVESTIGATION OF THE SOUND REVEALED THE RADIATOR COOLING FAN TO BE VIBRATING VIOLENTLY WHILE ENGAGED. SHORTLY AFTER THIS DISCOVERY THE FAN FAILED TO ENGAGE. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO STEVE LANDERS JEEP LOCATED AT 401 COLONEL GLENN PLAZA LOOP LITTLE ROCK, AR 72210. THE DIAGNOSIS WAS CONFIRMED TO BE THE RADIATOR COOLING FAN HAD FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF ORIGINAL MANUFACTURE WARRANTY AT 54,600 MILES. FAN WAS REPLACED AT THE DEALERSHIP AT MY EXPENSE.
I BOUGHT A 2015 JEEP RENEGADE FROM THIS DEALERSHIP BRAND NEW. ALL SERVICE HAS BEEN DONE AT EITHER THIS JEEP DEALERSHIP OR THE ONE IN LIMA OHIO WHERE I LIVED FOR A BRIEF TIME. BEGINNING IN MARCH OF 2018 MY VEHICLE STALLED WHILE RUNNING WITH NO WARNING WHATSOEVER. AFTER SEVERAL MINUTES IT RESTARTED. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHO TOLD ME IT WAS BECAUSE I NEEDED AN OIL CHANGE AND BECAUSE OF THE CHANGE IN TEMPERATURE FROM OHIO TO ARIZONA. IT THEN HAPPENED AGAIN TWO MORE TIMES ONCE ON THE FREEWAY-ALL AGAIN WITH NO WARNINGS. JEEP THEN HAD MY CAR IN AUGUST FOR NEARLY A MONTH-I WAS TOLD IT STALLS DUE TO LOW OIL PRESSURE AND TO DO AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST MEANING I DROVE IT FOR 1200 MILES AND THEN RETURNED IT TO THEM. I WAS THEN TOLD THAT MY OIL CONSUMPTION IS "WITHIN MANUFACTURER SPECIFICATIONS" SO THE DEALERSHIP WOULD NOT BE DOING ANY REPAIRS AND THAT I NEED TO CHECK MY OIL LEVEL AT EACH GAS FILL UP AND ADD OIL AS NEEDED IN BETWEEN OILS CHANGES. THIS IS NOT IN THE MANUAL AND THIS CAR IS STILL UNDER 36,000 MILES AND UNTIL OCTOBER 30 THE BUMBER TO BUMBER WARRANTY. I WAS TOLD BY DUSTIN THE MANAGER OF THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT TO CONTACT CHRYSLER AS THEY WOULD HAVE TO AUTHORIZE ANY REPAIRS OR CHANGES. I WAS TOLD BY CHRYSLER THAT THERE IS NOTHING TO FIX AND GIVEN THE SAME RECOMMENDATION TO CHECK MY OIL AT EACH GAS FILL UP AND ADD OIL. THIS CAR HAS NO OIL LIGHT, NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OR ANY WARNING OF ANY KIND BEFORE IT JUST STALLS WHILE DRIVING. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS CAR AND DO NOT TRUST THAT THIS AN AN ACCEPTABLE LOSS OF OIL AND THAT THEY CAN SET AN EXPECTATION THAT IS NOT LISTED ANYWHERE IN THE MANUAL.
VEHICLE JERKED HARD AND IMMEDIATELY LOST PROPULSION WHILE DRIVING 73 MPH ON INTERSTATE. WAS ABLE TO COAST TO A STOP AT A REST AREA, ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, CAR SHUT OFF. WOULD RESTART FOR A FEW SECONDS AND DIE AGAIN. WHEN TRYING TO START IT A MESSAGE SHOWED UP SAYING TO STOP THE CAR WHEN SHIFTING GEARS, THE CAR WAS IN PARK AND NOT MOVING. PARKING BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON WITHOUT APPLYING IT, TOOK SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO GET IT TO GO OFF. ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE HAD IT TOWED TO CLOSEST JEEP DEALERSHIP. CAR STARTED FOR THEM THE NEXT DAY AND THEY SAID NO CODES SHOWED UP AND THAT THE CAR STOPPED BECAUSE IT WAS LOW ON OIL AND 200 MILES PAST TIME FOR AN OIL CHANGE. SAID THIS WAS A FEATURE OF THE CAR -IF IT WAS LOW ON OIL IT WOULD JUST DIE SO IT COULDN'T BE DAMAGED BY DRIVING IT WITH LOW, OR NO, OIL, AND THAT NO WARNING LIGHT WOULD COME ON. THEY CHANGED THE OIL, PRONOUNCED IT FIXED AND I GOT IT BACK. 3 DAYS LATER I WAS DRIVING HOME ON A HILLY, WINDY, 2-LANE ROAD, 25 MPH, THE CAR AGAIN LOST PROPULSION, THIS TIME WITHOUT JERKING FIRST. I WAS ABLE TO COAST DOWNHILL TO A WIDE SPOT IN THE ROAD AND STOP. WHEN THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND A "SERVICE ENGINE" MESSAGE APPEARED. CALLED MY HUSBAND, WHEN HE GOT THERE WE RESTARTED THE CAR AND IT WAS SHAKING LIKE CRAZY AND SOUNDED LIKE A BUNCH OF HEAVY METAL OBJECTS WERE BEING TUMBLED IN A METAL DRUM. CALLED ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE AND THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE SAME DEALER AS BEFORE. AFTER 2 DAYS THEY CALLED ME AND SAID THAT IT NEEDED AN ENGINE WIRING HARNESS, CAM SHAFT SENSOR, CRANK SHAFT AND SPARK PLUGS, PLUS THE DIAGNOSTIC CHECK. WANTED ME TO PAY FOR THE WORK. CALLED MY EXTENDED WARRANTY COMPANY, THEY SAID IT HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED SINCE IT WAS LESS THAN 40 MILES AWAY, SO IT WAS TOWED THERE. STILL WAITING TO HEAR FROM ORIGINAL DEALERSHIP AS TO WHAT THEY THINK THE PROBLEM IS, TODAY IS THE 4TH DAY THEY'VE HAD THE CAR.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V529000 (POWER TRAIN). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,000.
