WAS GOING APPROXIMATE 25-30 MPH SWITCHED LANES AND THE TRAFFIC STOP I PRESSED THE BRAKES AND HERE WAS A GRINDING FELLING AND HIT THE BACK OF ANOTHER CAR AND DID SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE FRONT END OF MY JEEP AND THE AIRBAGS DID NOT GO OFF
ON MY WAY TO WORK GOT TO THE END OF ONE OF THE STREETS AT A STOP SIGN AND THE CAR STALLED NO WARNING LIGHTS OF ANY KIND SHOWED ON DASH , ONLY THING IT SAID WAS PLACE IN PARK THEN SELECT A GEAR . GET IN MY CAR AFTER I FINISH WORK STOP AT THE EXIT OF PARKING LOT AND STALLS AGAIN , DRIVE TO END OF ROAD TO STOP SIGN AND STALLS AGAIN DRIVE 100YARDS TO FIRST STOP LIGHT AND STALLS YET AGAIN ....NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH MY RENEGADE TILL NOW AND OF COURSE AM PASSED THE 36000 MILE WARRANTY...NEXT PAGE WON'T ALLOW ME TO ENTER NUMBERS MPH WHEN IT HAPPENED 0...MILES ON VEHICLE AT TIME 39198
TODAY,WHILE PULLING OUT ONTO THE HIGHWAY MY CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE PROPERLY ALMOST CAUSING A VERY SEVERE ACCIDENT WITH MY 8 WEEK OLD BABY IN THE CAR. WE CONTINUED TO TRY AND DRIVE SO WE WOULDN'T BE STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY BUT THE JEEP WENT 35 TO 40 MILES AN HOUR ALL THE WAY HOME. THIS WAS NOT THE FIRST INCIDENT WITH THIS CAR BUT THE FIRST AS SEVERE AS THIS. A FEW DAYS AFTER I BOUGHT THE CAR IT WOULD SHIFT HARD WHEN PUT INTO REVERSE, IT FELT AS IF SOMEONE HIT ME FROM BEHIND. THIS IS A BRAND NEW VEHICLE, MY ONLY VEHICLE, AND I AM SCARED TO TAKE MY BABY ANYWHERE. THIS WAS A VERY SCARY INCIDENT ESPECIALLY WITH A NEWBORN. JEEP NOT ONLY PUT MY LIFE AT JEOPARDY BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY A BABY'S LIFE!
VEHICLE LOST-POWER/STALLED WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE TRYING TO PULL INTO TRAFFIC FROM A PARKING LOT; THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION WHILE THE BRAKE WAS SLIGHTLY DEPRESSED; WHEN REMOVING THE FOOT FROM THE BRAKE TO DEPRESS THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL THE VEHICLE STALLED. TRIED TO RESTART THE CAR IN NEUTRAL, BUT SOON REALIZED VEHICLE WILL ONLY ALLOW STARTING OF ENGINE WHILE IN PARK. NOTIFIED DEALERSHIP THAT ONLINE ARTICLES INDICATED A RECALL SOON FOR THE ISSUE, BUT THEY INDICATED THERE WERE NO VEHICLE ERROR CODES, THEY COULD NOT REPEAT THE ISSUE AND THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING UNTIL THERE IS A RECALL, SO THEY DID NOTHING.
THE VEHICLES TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT COMES ON DURING NORMAL DRIVING CAUSING LOSS OF THROTTLE AN POWER MAKING YOU EXIT TO SHOULDER OR SOMETIMES AFTER 10 SEC OR SO THE POWER WILL RETURN. CAR DOES NOT DIE IT JUST TAKES THROTTLE CONTROL AWAY WHILE TRACTION LIGHT FLASHES. THIS IS ALL DURING NORMAL DRY CONDITIONS AND NORMAL DRIVING. I HAVE ALSO SEEN A HUGE AMOUNT OF THIS SAME ISSUE ON THE FORUMS. MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT FOUR TIMES AND THEY HAVE NO FIX YET. IT IS VERY UNSAFE AND MY WIFE IS AFRAID TO DRIVE HER BRAND NEW JEEP. IT'S REALLY RIDICULOUS THAT WE HAVE TO DEAL WITH ALL THIS AN NO ONE SEEMS TO CARE UNTIL SOMEONE GETS KILLED BECAUSE OF THE ISSUES. AND IF THIS DOESN'T GET CORRECTED SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET HURT OR KILLED IN A CAR ACCIDENT. THIS PROBLEM OCCURS ON A REGULAR BASIS BUT IT'S HARD TO RECREATE ON THE SPOT SO IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO GET THE DEALER TO BELIEVE IT IS HAPPENING BUT IF YOU SEARCH THE WEB THERE IS TONS OF INFO ON THIS ISSUE.
WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP, CAR HESITATES TO THE POINT OF ALMOST STALLING FOR SEVERAL SECONDS THEN LURCHES/JERKS FORWARD, RUNNING ROUGH FOR SEVERAL SECONDS AS IT FINALLY STARTS MOVING FORWARD. DANGEROUS WHEN PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC; THE VEHICLE IS IMMOBILE AS IT HESITATES/STALLS! HAS NOT COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN YET BUT HESITATES LONG ENOUGH THAT IT FEELS LIKE IT WILL. CALLED DEALERSHIP, THEY SAID THERE WERE MORE SOFTWARE UPDATES FOR THE 2015 RENEGADE. TOOK IN TODAY TO BE SERVICED; 7 FLASH SOFTWARE UPDATES WHICH INCLUDED A TRANSMISSION UPDATE. THE DEALER SAID TO SEE IF IT DRIVES BETTER AFTER THE SOFTWARE UPDATES. SCARY!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 JEEP RENEGADE. WHILE DRIVING 2 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. AFTER INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, THE DIPSTICK SHOWED NO OIL IN THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE DEALER WAS NOT ABLE TO PRODUCE A FAULT CODE FOR THE VEHICLE STALLING. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THE OIL CONSUMPTION WAS NORMAL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,000.
RENEGADE WHEN IN MOTION GOING 40MPH AND ENCOUNTERS A HILL/INCREASE IN GRADE, WILL NOT SHIFT INTO NEXT GEAR. THE VEHICLE IS STUCK IN THE LOWER GEAR @ 40MPH AS THE ENGINE REV'S OVER 3,000RPM BUT THE VEHICLE WON'T ACCELERATE AND WON'T KICK-IN THE HIGHER GEAR. HAVE TO NEARLY PRESS THE ACCELERATOR TO THE FLOOR TO FORCE THE VEHICLE TO RAMP THE RPM'S TO 4-5,000 TO GET IT TO SHIFT INTO THE CORRECT GEAR. FEELS LIKE I'M GOING TO BLOW THE ENGINE WHEN I HAVE TO DO THIS BUT IT WON'T SHIFT INTO GEAR. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING CONSISTENTLY FOR OVER A MONTH. CALLED DEALERSHIP, THEY SAID THERE ARE SEVERAL SOFTWARE UPDATES FOR THE RENEGADE, SO TRY THAT AND SEE IF IT FIXES THE ISSUE. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP TODAY FOR 7 SOFTWARE UPDATES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 JEEP RENEGADE. WHILE COMING TO A STOP AND WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE THE VEHICLE IT FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE CONTACT APPLIED MORE PRESSURE THAN NORMAL IN ORDER FOR THE VEHICLE TO ACCELERATE TO APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH. THE CONTACT REMOVED HER FOOT FROM THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND EASED ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, BUT IT COULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000. THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WOULD ROUGHLY JERK WHEN TAKING OFF FROM A STOP. WHILE DRIVING 65MPH ON THE FREEWAY THE VEHICLE SWITCHED INTO NEUTRAL. IT WOULD HESITATE UPON ACCELERATION AND STALL AT TAKE OFF. UPDATED 09/15/2017*JS
THE SEAL BETWEEN THE WINDOW AND THE TOP OF THE DRIVER DOOR HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE BY THE DEALER. THE SEAL CONTINUES TO CRACK ALLOWING WIND AND WATER TO ENTER THE CABIN. THE SOUND IS LOUD ENOUGH TO DROWN OUT THE RADIO AND IS DISTRACTING. THIS OCCURS WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION.
PURCHASED VEHICLE IN JULY 2015, WITH 12 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. VEHICLE DIED WHILE IN MOTION AT APPROXIMATELY 12 MPH ON MAY 2016. HAD FULL ELECTRICAL POWER, BUT ENGINE WOULD NOT TURN OVER AND IGNITION DID NOT EVEN MAKE "CLICK" NOISE. TOWED BY FCA 24H SERVICE TO THE CLOSEST DEALERSHIP (AND NOT THE ONE I BOUGHT IT FROM AND REQUESTED IT GO TO). AFTER 3 DAYS WAS TOLD THAT IT NEEDED OIL, OIL CHANGED WAS PERFORMED, AND THAT IT WAS FINE. OIL STARTED "DISAPPEARING" - NO LEAK, WASN'T BURNING. OIL PRESSURE LIGHT WOULD COME ON CONTINUOUSLY. CALLED FCA TO ALERT TO PROBLEM AND ASK WARRANTY QUESTIONS. WAS TOLD TO PUT OIL IN AND THAT THERE WERE NO PROBLEMS WITH 2015 RENEGADES; WARNED REP THAT CONTINUED DRIVING WITH NO OIL WOULD SEIZE ENGINE. CALLED ORIGINAL DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. WAS ABLE TO REPLICATE PROBLEM - ENGINE SEIZED, WITH ONLY 9288 MILES ON IT, ON AUG 29 2016 WHILE ENTERING NEIGHBORHOOD AT APPX.15 MPH - FIRST STARTED SHAKING AND RUMBLING LOUDLY, SPUTTERING AND DYING WHILE IN MOTION, ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND WOULD NOT START AFTER THAT. HAD TOWED TO ORIGINAL PURCHASE DEALERSHIP. WAS FIRST TOLD WAS A CYLINDER HEAD AND THAT WAS OIL IN THE SPARK PLUG SOCKETS AND ELSEWHERE (LUCKY IT DID NOT CATCH ON FIRE WHILE I WAS DRIVING). WEEK LATER WAS TOLD THAT A WHOLE NEW ENGINE WOULD HAVE TO GO IN, AS IT WAS SEIZED. ENGINE HAS FINALLY BEEN REPLACED AFTER 30 DAYS, AS DEALER HAD TO WAIT FOR FCA APPROVAL. NOW OUT OF POCKET ALMOST $400 FOR VEHICLE RENTALS AND TOWING, DESPITE FCA PROMISES TO PROVIDE. FILED FOR BUY BACK PROCESS AND GIVEN RUN AROUND. HAVE NOT HAD MY VEHICLE FOR A TOTAL OF 37 DAYS THIS YEAR - 35 WHICH ARE CONSECUTIVE. STILL WAITING FOR FCA RESPONSE; HAVE CALLED SEVERAL TIMES AND REP WILL NOT RETURN MY CALLS. STAY FAR AWAY FROM ANY FCA PRODUCED VEHICLE THAT HAS THE 9 SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION.
I'VE FILED A COMPLAINT BEFORE AND THE ISSUE HAS HAPPENED AGAIN. I WAS LEFT STRANDED, AN HOUR AND A HALF FROM HOME BY MY JEEP RENEGADE. THE KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM DECIDES TO STOP WORKING OUT OF THE BLUE AND THEN THERE IS NO WAY TO START THE CAR. JUMPING IT DOESN'T HELP AND IT'S A MAJOR GLITCH IN THE SYSTEM. THE DEALER "FIXED" THIS ISSUE LAST WEEK BY REPLACING A FAULTY GROUND AND THEY SAID THAT WAS WHAT WAS CAUSING IT. THREE DAYS LATER, I'M IN THE SAME PREDICAMENT THAT I WAS IN BEFORE. THIS CAR IS NO LONGER SAFE TO DRIVE AND NO ONE HAS BEEN PROACTIVE IN TAKING CARE OF THIS. I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO.
TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR SYSTEM SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON THIS MORNING. TPMS NO LONGER ABLE TO READ ANY OF MY TIRE PRESSURES.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. THE STABILITY CONTROL LIGHT RANDOMLY FLASHES AND I LOSE POWER TO THE CAR. IT HAPPENS DURING DRY CONDITIONS AND MORE FREQUENTLY WHEN TURNING. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT TWICE BECAUSE THIS. IT HAS BEEN OCCURRING FOR MONTHS NOW AND I HAVE TAKING IT TO THE DEALER TWICE BUT THEY SAY THEY CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. NO CODES OR STAR CASES HAVE BEEN REPORTED BUT THE CAR IT NOT RIGHT. I'M DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING IT BUT I AM NOT SURE WHAT TO DO NOW.
I HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE FOR A YEAR AND HAVE LESS THAN 5K MILES ON IT. TODAY I WAS MAKING A NORMAL RIGHT HAND TURN (NOT SHARP OR ANYTHING) AND AS I WAS TURNING THE JEEP LOST ALL POWER AND THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON THE DASH.
I PURCHASED THE FIRST MODEL OF THE JEEP RENEGADE IN MAY 2015. IT HAS REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY. IN THE PAST YEAR, THE KEYLESS ENTRY HAS STOPPED WORKING 7 TIMES. IT HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALER 4 TIMES. THERE IS NO WAY TO START THE CAR, EVEN WHEN YOU TAKE THE METAL PART OF THE KEY AND TOUCH IT TO THE START BUTTON. I'VE BEEN STRANDED WITHOUT A VEHICLE EACH TIME. JEEP SAYS THEY'VE NEVER SEEN THIS HAPPEN BEFORE BUT I'VE READ MULTIPLE JEEP FORUMS STATING THAT THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM. FOR A BRAND NEW CAR, THIS IS A MAJOR DEFECT. THE SECOND TO LAST TIME IT WAS BROUGHT TO THE DEALER, THEY SWITCHED THE BATTERY AND SAID THAT WOULD FIX IT. TWO MONTHS LATER, THE SAME PROBLEM CAME BACK. THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO FIX THIS ISSUE AND MY CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE FOR FEAR THAT I COULD BE STUCK SOMEWHERE WITHOUT CELL SERVICE. EACH TIME THIS HAPPENS, THE CAR IS PARKED AND OFF. I NEVER KNOW WHEN THE ISSUE IS GOING TO OCCUR, IT HAPPENED TWICE LAST WEEK AND THE FIRST TIME IT GOT TOWED TO THE DEALER. BY THE TIME IT GOT THERE, THE DEALER SAID THERE WAS NO ISSUE STARTING THE CAR AND THEY COULDN'T REPLICATE THE PROBLEM SO THERE WAS NO FIX.
SERVICE 4X4 LIGHT HAD COME ON, INTERMITTENTLY FOR OVER A MONTH AND IS NOW STAYING ON. I HAVE NOT USED THE 4X4 SYSTEM IN OVER 6 MONTHS. NO REASON FOR IT TO NEED SERVICED IF IT HASN'T BEEN USED.
ON OCCASION WHEN MAKING EITHER A LEFT OR RIGHT HAND TURN, THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT FLASHES AND THE ENGINE LOSES POWER. ALL ACCELERATION TO THE VEHICLE STOPS AND WILL NOT RESUME UNTIL YOU RELEASE THE GAS PEDAL. THE ISSUE STARTED IN MARCH OF 2016 AND CONTINUES TILL THIS DATE, 7/27/16
AT RIVER OAKS CHRYSLER-PLYMOUTH-JEEP: 7/6/2016 - (1) RED LIGHTS "ON" IN UPPER CONSOLE THAT DIALS 911 AND EMERGENCY ROAD SERVICES. (2) RADIO DISPLAY INDICATES RADIO NEEDS SERVICE; RADIO REPLACED BY DEALERSHIP. AT NORTHWEST CHRYSLER - JEEP - DODGE - RAM: 4/24/2017 - ALL LIGHTS FAILED WHILE I WAS DRIVING BACK FROM LUNCH. BACK UP LIGHTS, TURN SIGNALS - ALL LIGHTS WERE NOT WORKING AND I DROVE IMMEDIATELY TO CLOSEST JEEP DEALER, NEAR WORK. THE LIGHTS WERE BACK ON AFTER 5 MINUTES OR SO, AND THE DEALER COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM. NO WORK WAS PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE. 7/14/2016 - (1) RED LIGHT STILL ON AND DEALER NEVER FIXED; STILL AN ISSUE AS OF 8/14/2017. (2) AFTER NEW RADIO INSTALLED, APPS WERE MISSING; BACK UP CAMERA NOT WORKING; BLUETOOTH NOT WORKING; RADIO CANNOT ACCESS WI-FI. NEW 8/14/2017 (WILL TAKE TO HELFMAN DEALERSHIP TODAY, WHERE I ORIGINALLY PURCHASED THE VEHICLE ON 5/5/2015): ON OR ABOUT 8/1/2017; LARGE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON WHEN I STARTED THE CAR (I SAY LARGE BECAUSE IT WAS IN PART OF CONSOLE THAT SHOWS SPEED, MILES TRAVELED AND OTHER CUSTOMIZABLE SCREENS) INDICATING THAT IT NEEDED SOME TYPE SERVICE RIGHT AWAY, BUT IT DISAPPEARED WITHIN 5-10 SECONDS. WILL ALSO TRY TO GET DEALER TO EXPLORE RED LIGHTS IN UPPER CONSOLE THAT ARE STILL PRESENT AND OCCURRING AFTER MORE THAN ONE YEAR. THEY APPEAR AND STAY AFTER I TURN THE CAR OFF AND LET IT REST ONLY A FEW MINUTES. RED LIGHTS ARE NOT PRESENT IF CAR SITS FOR SEVERAL MINUTES OR OVERNIGHT.

IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START WHEN THE IGNITION KEY WAS TURNED TO POWER ON. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS LOCATED AT THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,600.
I HAVE HAD A "SERVICE IN 30 DAYS, I'M NOW ON 6 DAYS" AND I HAVE BEEN TO 2 DIFFERENT DEALERS TO HAVE THE SERVICE MESSAGE REMOVED FROM WHEN I START THE JEEP BUT THE MESSAGE NEVER GOES AWAY, I HAVE HAD THE SERVICE DONE TWICE NOW TO GET THE MESSAGE TO GO AWAY BUT IT NEVER DOES, THE DATE JUST GOES DOWN AND I HAVE NO WAY TO REMOVE THE MESSAGE, AND APPARENTLY DEALERS CAN'T EITHER, WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I HIT DAY 1 OR BEYOND? WHEN WILL I KNOW MY VEHICLE NEEDS SERVICE NEXT IF THE LIGHT NEVER TURN OFF TO BEGIN WITH ON A NEW VEHICLE?
AFTER 7 MONTHS AND 7000 MILES OF OWNERSHIP, THE FRONT WINDSHIELD CRACKED. DRIVING IN EARLY SUNDAY MORNING CITY TRAFFIC A 24" CRACK DEVELOPED ACROSS THE WINDSHIELD. THE CRACK APPEARS TO START AT THE EDGE OF THE GLASS.
AT 1040 MILES WHILE GOING UP A 7% GRADE IN 100+ DEGREE TEMPERATURES. THE TRANSMISSION DOWN SHIFTED AND IMMEDIATELY LOST POWER THEN BEGAN 'LUNGING'. DISPLAY SHOWED "PLACE VEHICLE IN PARK PRIOR TO SELECTING A GEAR". AFTER WAITING SEVERAL MINUTES RESTARTED VEHICLE BUT AS SOON AS IT NEEDED TO SHIFT IT WOULD DO THE SAME STALL OUT. THIS EXACT BEHAVIOR ALSO OCCURRED ON THE SAME SECTION (WITHIN 2 MI) OF HIGHWAY AT THE FOLLOWING ODOMETER READINGS: 4811, 5202, 28928, 29580 AND 29623. COMMON RPM'S ARE AROUND 3500 BUT VARIES SOMEWHAT EACH TIME AND USUALLY BETWEEN 50-65 MPH. THE CAR IS BEING DRIVEN IN FULL AUTOMATIC MODE AND IS UNRESPONSIVE IF ATTEMPTING TO SWITCH TO MANUAL MODE ONCE IT STARTS. CRUISE CONTROL WAS ONLY USED THE FIRST TIME. I QUIT USING IT AFTER THAT IN CASE THERE WAS ANY RELATION TO THE SHIFT SELECTIONS. THE GAP IN THE MILEAGES INDICATE THE ALMOST ALMOST 3 MONTHS THAT THE DEALERSHIP HAD THE VEHICLE AND THE TIME THAT I DID NOT EXPERIENCE THE PROBLEM- COLD MONTHS ONLY. MANY OF THE OCCURRENCES ARE WITH DAYS OF EACH OTHER AND OR AFTER PICKING UP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE ALSO EXPERIENCES EXTREMELY HARD LOW SPEED SHIFTS (FROM A LIGHT OR STOP SIGN). THE STRETCH OF HIGHWAY I DRIVE DAILY IS VERY BUSY AND A MAIN CORRIDOR FROM THE NEIGHBORING CITY TO MY RURAL TOWN. IT IS DANGEROUS TO SUDDENLY DROP "BACK" ON SPEED SO DRAMATICALLY.
MY TRANSMISSION SHIFTS TO NEUTRAL WHILE IN MOTION ON CITY STREETS AND HIGHWAYS ON ITS OWN AND PUTS ME AT RISK FOR CRASHING. I HAVE TAKEN MY VEHICLE IN ON MORE THAN TWO OCCASIONS BEFORE MY 100,000 MILE WARRANTY AND THE PROBLEM STILL PERSISTED AND HAS BECOME WORSE.
TIRES INSTALLED ARE NOT SPECIFIC FOR ON/OFF ROAD DRIVING. ACCORDING TO TIRE MANUFACTURER, GOODYEAR SR-A 215/65/R17 ARE HIGHWAY TIRES AND NOT FOR OFF ROADING.
THE PASSENGER SEAT WILL NOT ALWAYS ACTIVATE THE AIRBAG SENSOR WHEN A PERSON IS SEATED, IT WILL ACTIVATE WHEN A LUNCH BAG IS PLACED ON IT. THE SEAT BELT ALARM ON THE PASSENGER FRONT SEAT DOES NOT ALWAYS WORK. THE VEHICLE UNDER NORMAL SPEEDS HAVE BEEN ALERTING THAT THE VEHICLE IS OVERHEATING AND SLOWS DOWN ATTEMPTING TO SHUT THE ENGINE OFF CAUSING THE DANGER OF A CRASH TO POSSIBLY HAPPEN. THE DEALERSHIP IS UNABLE TO REPLICATE ANY OF THE ISSUES DESCRIBED, AND HAS STATED THAT THE PASSENGER MUST GAIN WEIGHT TO ACTIVATE THE SENSOR.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, AFTER THE REPAIR, THE KEY FAILED TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE VEHICLE. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT A NEW KEY NEEDED TO BE ORDERED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO THE PART BEING UNAVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,000. THEY CLAIMED IT WAS THE OIL, THE BATTERY, ELECTRONICS, OR THAT IT WAS DRIVEN AWKWARDLY, ETC. THEY HAVE HELD THE VEHICLE FOR OVER 30DAYS, DID SOFTWARE FIXES, CHANGED THE OIL, CHANGED THE BATTERY. I ALSO WENT THROUGH THE CHRYSLER DISPUTE RESOLUTION. WHICH WAS UNFAVORABLE TO MYSELF DUE TO DEALERSHIP CLAIMING NOTHING WAS WRONG. DEALERSHIP DID NOT NOTATE TRUE EXPERIENCES WITH THE VEHICLE TO CHRYSLER. VEHICLE STILL STALLED AND LUNGED THEREAFTER. I REFUSED TO DRIVE IT DUE TO SAFETY REASONS AND HAD DEALERSHIP BUY IT BACK AT BLUEBOOK VALUE SO THAT I COULD PURCHASE A SAFE RELIABLE VEHICLE. THERE IS A CLASS ACTION SUIT REGARDING THE TRANSMISSION. I DID NOT CLAIM INTO THE CLASS ACTION SUIT BECAUSE AT THE TIME, I WAS IN THE PROCESS OF THE DISPUTE RESOLUTION.

DEALERSHIP HAD A TECH ADVISOR STATE THAT THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, IT IS INHERENT WITH RENEGADES. FCA CURRENTLY HAS NO KNOW APPLICATION TO CORRECT THIS UNSAFE CONDITION. JEEP HAD 628 MILES ON IT WHEN DRIVING HOME SPEEDOMETER WENT TO 0 HAD NO POWER MANAGE TO PULL OF THE ROAD SMELLED GAS LOOK AROUND AND FOUND GAS LEAKING FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE JEEP NEEDED TO HAVE IT TOWED. LEAKED A LOT OF GAS ALL THE WAY TO THE DEALERSHIP AND AFTER THEY UNLOADED IT. TOLD IT WAS A FUEL FITTING AND NEED SOFTWARE UPDATES. I AM SURE GLAD IT WAS AT NIGHT WITH NO TRAFFIC AND NOT ON THE HIGHWAY WHO NO'S WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPED.

ERROR MASSAGE ABOUT ELECTRONIC PARKING BRAKE PROBLEMS KEEP POPPING UP, THE DEALER HAS BEEN UNABLE TO FIX IT DESPITE MANY REPEATED ATTEMPTS. MY WIFE PURCHASED NEW, 2015 JEEP RENEGADE LATITUDE FROM DON DAVIS CHRYSLER, ARLINGTON, TX ON OR ABOUT 01/23/2016. FRONT WINDSHIELD BEGAN TO CRACK WITH NO IMPACT DAMAGE ABOUT MIDDLE OF MARCH, 2016. I TOOK JEEP TO DON DAVIS. THEY INSPECTED THE CRACK WHICH BEGAN IN THE CENTER OF THE WINDSHIELD AT THE POINT OF THE WINDSHIELD MOUNTED DEFROSTER AND CONFIRMED THAT THIS WAS A WARRANTY DEFECT. AT THAT TIME, THEY SENT PHOTOS OF THE BREAK TO JEEP AND ORDERED A REPLACEMENT WINDSHIELD. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT CONFIRMED THAT THE REPLACEMENT COSTS, IF THEY HAD NOT BEEN COVERED BY WARRANTY WOULD BE ABOUT $1,300. SEVERAL WEEKS PASSED WITHOUT ANY FURTHER COMMUNICATION FROM DON DAVIS. WHEN THE DEALERSHIP CONFIRMED THAT THE REPLACEMENT STILL HAD NOT ARRIVED, I CONTACTED JEEP CUSTOMER SERVICE BY TELEPHONE AND EXPLAINED THE ISSUES. THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE HAD NO RECORD OF THE PROBLEM, AND TOOK MY VERBAL INFORMATION. I NEXT MET WITH THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE MANAGER. AFTER SHOWING ME THAT HE HAD NOTIFIED JEEP AND REQUESTED THE REPLACEMENT, HE AGAIN TOOK ADDITIONAL PHOTOS AND HAD ME REMAIN WHILE HE CONFIRMED THAT THE PART WAS ORDERED. BY THIS TIME, THE CRACK EXTENDED TO ABOUT THREE INCHES FROM EITHER SIDE OF THE END OF THE WINDSHIELD, A CHANGE OF ABOUT 5" TO 6" ON EITHER SIDE FROM WHEN I FIRST MET WITH THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. CHRYSLER HAD SENT A DEFECTIVE WINDSHIELD AS A REPLACEMENT. THE DEALERSHIP RETURNED IT AND AFTER SEVERAL MONTHS NOW, WE ARE STILL WITHOUT A NEW WINDSHIELD. I AM GREATLY CONCERNED THAT MY WIFE OR I MAY BE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY, ESPECIALLY IF WE HAVE OUR SEVEN YEAR OLD GRANDSON, WHOM WE ARE RAISING, RIDING WITH US AND THE WINDSHIELD CRACKS AS RESULT OF DEBRIS OR SIMPLY BECAUSE IT WILL NO LONGER RETAIN SUPPORT WITH SUCH A LONG, 42" HORIZONTAL CRACK. OTHER OWNERS HAVE MADE SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET.
I HAVE HAD THE JEEP FOR 18 MONTHS, BOUGHT BRAND NEW, AND HAVE IN SHOP AT LEAST 14 TIMES. THE SCARIEST PROBLEM WAS WHEN I PULLED OUT INTO TRAFFIC, GOT UP TO ABOUT 35 MPH AND THE CAR WENT INTO "LOCKDOWN". CAR PUT ITSELF INTO NEUTRAL, AIR BAGS TURNED OFF, BRAKES DIDN'T WORK, AND JUST ABOUT EVERY OTHER SYSTEM TURNED OFF. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES AND THE 1ST 3 TIMES, THEY KEPT SAYING IT WAS A SOFTWARE UPDATE. TURNED OUT THE ENGINE THERMOSTAT WAS READING IT WAS -40 DEGREES AND THIS CAUSED IT. NOW I HAVE A SERVICE TIRE PRESSURE SYSTEM WARNING, AFTER HAVING TO REPLACE ALL 4 TIRES AFTER ONLY 28K MILES. THIS IS AN UNSAFE VEHICLE AND HAVE BEEN TRYING TO WORK ON LEMON LAW IN FLORIDA, BUT NOW MY JEEP REP IS GONE AND LOOKS LIKE I HAVE TO START THE PROCESS OVER. WHY DOESN'T JEEP JUST RECOGNIZE THAT THIS IS A SEVERE SAFETY ISSUE AND I WON'T LET MY WIFE OR SON DRIVE THIS VEHICLE, BUT I NEED IT TO GET TO WORK, RISKING MY LIFE EVERY TIME I DRIVE IT.

THEY KEPT THE CAR FOR 3 WEEKS FOR WHAT WAS DESCRIBED AS A PROBLEM WITH THE CLUTCH, A PART FOR WHICH (THE THROW-OUT BEARING) WAS ON BACK ORDER. I PICKED UP THE CAR THIS PAST FRIDAY 3/11/16, DROVE IT HOME AND PARKED IT IN MY GARAGE, HAPPY THAT IT WAS FIXED. OR SO I THOUGHT. SATURDAY MORNING, LESS THAN 24 HOURS SINCE BRINGING IT HOME, AS I WAS PREPARING TO GO OUT OF TOWN, THE CAR WOULD NOT GO INTO REVERSE, AND THERE IT SITS, STUCK IN MY GARAGE, TO BE TOWED BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. THING IS, I HAD NOT TRIED OUT THE REVERSE ON IT WHEN I PICKED IT UP OR GOT IT HOME. I HAD A STRAIGHT RUN OUT OF THE GARAGE WHEN I PICKED IT UP, DROVE AROUND THE BUILDING AND THEN STRAIGHT TO MY HOME. I'M WONDERING IF THEY HAD NOT DONE SO TOO. NOW THAT IT IS NEARLY 30 DAYS OUT OF COMMISSION, I WILL PROBABLY TRY TO GET THE CAR DECLARED A LEMON AND ASK THE DEALERSHIP TO BUY IT BACK.
