The ECU/PCU has developed a failure to control the idle air intake valve due to an unrepairable defect on the computer. IT can shut the engine down without warning while running, especially when approaching stops. IT requires the operator to try to control the issue using the accelerator pedal to override it and prevent the engine from cutting out. It can happen without warning, and de[pending on the skill level of the driver, an accident can easily result. PLUS there are NO repair parts for the ECU/PCU in the parts system, resulting in an unsafe and unmaintainable vehicle on the highways. The ECU /PCU was used one year only, so the Chrysler engineers knew they had a defect. No older Jeep used this particular unit and no younger ones used it either!
The frame of this vehicle has deteriorated to the point of becoming a safety hazard. The frame has rusted through over 50% of the thickness (internally) and has broken through to the outside in several areas around where the suspension and transmission attach. I recognize that this is an older vehicle, but it has larger percentage of rust than other vehicles I have owned and I do not believe it should be this deteriorated. I believe there must have been a manufacturing defect in the design (water/dirt) can get trapped in the frame or the material used was of insufficient corrosion resistance. Component Malfunction: Frame Structural Integrity Safety Risk: Drivetrain/Suspension could detach from vehicle causing safety risk to occupant of vehicle or nearby pedestrians/vehicles/structures. Inspected by dealership: Dealership did not mention it, probably because this is a 'known' issue that they don't have a fix for. (Frame replacement is expensive) Inspected by police: Indiana does not require inspections. (No) Warning Lamps: No. Symptoms appeared in 2020, seem to have accelerated over the last two years/5000 miles.
The transmission has been shifting very hard and erratic for years and if i hit a bump the steering wheel shakes violently. Has been doing these things since almost new the dealer would not fix any of it.
December 19th, 2022 Gentlemen/Ladies: This vehicle has been operated over five (5) of its sixteen (16) years in East and West Texas, in an extremely high heat and high humidity environment. It has been also in Central Illinois for about 9 years in a similar environment, and it is known to have the Takata air bag initiator units that are prone to an over 50% dangerous explosion failure rate when actuated. Given that this vehicle is soon to be exported to an equally high heat and humidity environment in service, may I ask why haven't you required Chrysler/Jeep to recall and repair the units in question? Given that there are no doubt several million Jeep Wranglers and Wrangler Unlimiteds with these Takata units in them, it is an unconscionable mistake to allow them to continue in daily service in an unrepaired or updated condition. When, not if these units fail, the results can result in serious injuries and deaths.
Vehicle’s inlet check valve for gas tank does not work properly when tank is filled at fueling stations. Does not trigger gas pumps to stop causing overflow and spilling on person / clothing / vehicle and gas station property. This is a known issue for 2005-2006 Jeep Wranglers. The issue was repaired by manufacturer for newer Jeep Wranglers. Currently no manufacturer ownership on remediation issue and/or recall for 2005-2006 model year Jeep Wranglers.
FUEL OVERFLOWS WHEN THE TANK IS FILLED. THE AUTO-SHUTOFF DOESN'T WORK. IT HAPPENS EVERY TIME I FILL THE TANK, NO MATTER WHAT GAS STATION. THIS IS A SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARD.
EVERY TIME I FILL THE JEEP UP WITH GAS, LARGE AMOUNT OF FUEL SPILLS OUT BEFORE THE FILL GUN CAN STOP IT. I HAVE BEEN TO MANY DIFFERENT GAS STATION AND IT HAPPENS AT ALL OF THEM. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS, MANY OTHERS WITH MY YEAR JEEP HAVE FILLED COMPLAINTS AND GOT THE ISSUE FIX.
THE VEHICLE WHILE OPERATING UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS HAD A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT APPEAR. A CERTIFIED MECHANIC FOUND THE TCM WAS FAULTY. FINDINGS: P0218 HIGH TEMP OPERATION ACTIVATED. P0714 TRANSMISSION TEMP SENSOR INTERMITTENT. P0613 INTERNAL TCM PROBLEM. INSTRUMENT CLUSTER: 1 TCM/SINGLE BOARD ENGINE CONTROL MESSAGE NOT RECEIVED DATA LIST FOR TCM IS READING 1023 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT OR 1.10 VOLTS HAVING CODE P0613 TCM IS FAULTY.
EVERY TIME I FILL UP MY FUEL TANK, 1/2 A SECOND AFTER THE PUMP SHUTS OFF, A SIGNIFICANT OF FUEL COMES RUSHING OUT ON TO THE GROUND.
EXPERIENCING THE "DEATH WOBBLE" AT 55 MPH. SLOWING DOWN OR SPEEDING UP WILL CAUSE IT TO GO AWAY.HAPPENS ABOUT 33% OF THE TIME WHILE ACCELERATING OR DECELERATING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT WAS AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND STATED THAT THE BATTERY ALMOST FAILED AND THE 02 OXYGEN HEAT SENSOR WAS NOT ABLE TO COMPLETE THE FINAL TEST OF REPROGRAMMING. ALSO, THE ACTION SENSOR HEAT MODULE COULD NOT BE REPROGRAMMED. THE CONTACT CALLED AUBURN CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (1901 GRASS VALLEY HWY, AUBURN, CA 95603, (888) 268-8026) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,000.
VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A VERY SERIOUS ACCIDENT THAT RESULTED IN THE VEHICLE ROLLING 4 TIMES. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY ON IMPACT WHICH RESULTED IN THE DRIVER SUSTAINING MULTIPLE BROKEN BONES IN THE FACE. THEN, DURING THE FIRST ROLL, THE DRIVER WAS EJECTED DUE TO A FAULTY SEAT BELT LATCH WHICH RESULTED IN VERY SERIOUS CRITICAL INJURIES INCLUDING A BROKEN BACK. IF THESE SAFETY FEATURES WOULD HAVE WORKED, THE DRIVER WOULD NOT BE IN THE SITUATION THAT SHE IS IN AND SUFFERING THROUGH LOTS OF PAIN AND LIFE CHANGING INJURIES.
WHEN FILLING THE WRANGLER WITH FUEL, THE TANK CONSISTENTLY AND REGULARLY OVERFILLS AND SPITS FUEL OUT OF THE TOP OF THE FUEL TANK TOWARDS THE GAS PUMP NOZZLE, THE PERSON FILLING THE WRANGLER, THE EXTERIOR OF THE WRANGLER, AND ONTO THE FLOOR NEXT TO THE WRANGLER. THERE IS A TSB FOR REPAIR OF THIS ISSUE, BUT MY YEAR IS NOT AUTOMATICALLY COVERED BY THAT TSB. PLEASE HELP.
HELLO, I AM WRITING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT A LEAKING DOOR SEAL ON MY 2006 WRANGLER. THE SEAL HAS BEEN REPLACED THREE TIMES, BUT CONTINUES TO LEAK. WHEN IT RAINS, WATER COLLECTS ON THE FLOOR CREATING A WET AND SLIPPERY CONDITION THAT MAKES IT DANGEROUS TO DRIVE, AS THE HEEL SLIPS WHILE OPERATING THE PEDALS. FURTHERMORE, THE WATER LEAK CAUSES A MOLD CONDITION THAT IS HARMFUL TO HEALTH. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THERE IS ANYTHING YOU CAN DO. THANK YOU.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AVENTURA CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (2198 NE 163RD ST, NORTH MIAMI BEACH, FL 33162, (305) 493-5000) FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE. THE CONTACT NOTIFIED THE DEALER THAT HE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V222000 (POWER TRAIN). THE DEALER VERIFIED THE RECALL AND STATED THAT THEY WOULD PERFORM THE RECALL REPAIR AS WELL AS THE OTHER MAINTENANCE REPAIRS. WHEN THE CONTACT WENT TO RETRIEVE THE VEHICLE, THE RECALL REPAIRS WERE NOT COMPLETED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY WOULD CALL THE CONTACT BACK WHEN THE PARTS WERE AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT CHECKED BACK WITH THE DEALER SIX TO SEVEN TIMES BOTH IN PERSON AND ON THE PHONE AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS WERE STILL NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD TO INITIATE THE CALLS SINCE THE DEALER NEVER CALLED BACK OVER A THREE MONTH TIMEFRAME. THE MANUFACTURER'S RECALL CENTER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY STATED THAT THEY WOULD RESEARCH THE MATTER AND CALL THE CONTACT BACK. THE CONTACT HAD NOT HEARD BACK FROM THE RECALL CENTER. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. *TT CONSUMER STATED NO INCIDENT OR CRASH HAVE OCCURRED AT THIS TIME. SAFETY RECALL IS FOR CLUTCH INTERLOCK SWITCH. *JB
WHEN FILLING UP THE FUEL TANK, IT WILL EITHER CLICK-OFF EVERY 2 TENTHS OF A GALLON OR SPILL FUEL OUT WHEN ATTEMPTING TO FILL AT THE SLOWEST RATE. THERE ARE NO KINKS OR ETC IN THE FILLER PIPE OR VENT PIPE.
DEATH WOBBLE. VEHICLE WILL SHAKE VIOLENTLY AT TIMES BETWEEN 50-53 MPH. CONDITION WILL RETURN TO NORMAL AFTER DECELERATING TO < 40 MPH, MOST TIMES. OCCASIONALLY WILL HAVE TO COME TO COMPLETE STOP.
I'VE BEEN BATTLING BAD SHIFTING PROBLEMS AND SPENT THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TRYING TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. AFTER REPLACING THE TRANSMISSION, LOTS OF DIAGNOSTIC FEES, AND NOW A PCM MODULE. I'VE LEARNED AFTER 8 MONTHS, THAT CHRYSLER CAN'T SEEM TO SOLVE THE PCM PROBLEM AND LEFT THE AFTERMARKET TO RESOLVE IT. I LUCKILY FOUND A COMPANY WHO CAN RESOLVE IT. TRIBAL KNOWLEDGE IS THAT CHRYSLER COULDN'T FIGURE IT OUT AND SOME PARTS ARE NO LONGER AVAILABLE. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!
WHILE PARKING MY 2006 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED INTO A PARKING SPACE I PUT THE CAR INTO PARK AND IT CONTINUED TO DRIFT FORWARD. I HAD TO PULL THE EMERGENCY BRAKE UP TO STOP IT. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND THEN IT WOULD NOT RESTART. I HAD THE CAR REPAIRED AND IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER CABLE.
I JUST PURCHASE A THIS VEHICLE AND I NOTICES THAT FRONT SUSPENSION STARTS SHAKING AFTER HITTING A BUMP ON THE ROAD, IT IS VERY SCARY AND IT FEELS LIKE YOU ARE GOING TO LOOSE CONTROL. I HAVE DRIVEN THIS CAR ON THE FREEWAY TWO TIMES AND IT ALREADY HAPPENED LIKE 6 TIMES. I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED AND I HOPE THIS IS AN EASY FIX, I BOUGHT THIS CAR FOR MY DAUGHTER BUT I DON'T THINK I CAN RUN THE RISK OF GIVING IT TO HER IT WOULD BE VERY IRRESPONSIBLE OF MY PART TO GIVE MY DAUGHTER SOMETHING UNSAFE.
THE PROGRAM CONTROL MODULE (PCM) CONTAINS THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE AND ALL SAFETY FEATURES DESIGNED INTO THESE VEHICLES. IN MY CASE I AM DEVELOPING TRANSMISSION SHIFTING PROBLEMS AS A FIRST SIGN WITH HARD SHIFTS AND INCORRECT TEMPERATURE READING RECORDED FROM THE TRANSMISSION. THE FALSE HIGH READINGS CAN RESULT IN UNEXPECTED ENGINE SHUT DOWN AND OTHER UNSAFE OPERATING CONDITIONS. CHRYSLER IS NO LONGER PROVIDING SUPPORT FOR REPLACEMENT PCM COMPUTERS, DESPITE THIS PROBLEM AFFECTING LARGE NUMBERS OF 2005 AND 2006 VEHICLES WITH THE PCM/TOM COMBINATION WHEN THE SOLDER JOINTS ON THE PCM/TOM CIRCUIT BOARD DEVELOPERS CORROSION AND SOLDER FRACTURES AFFECTING THE COMPUTER PROGRAMMING. MY DEALER CURRENTLY HAS 29 UNITS THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE REPLACEMENTS FOR ON BACK ORDER WITH NO PLANS TO PROVIDE ANY SUPPORT TO CURRENT OWNERS. OWNERS ARE FORCED TO RELY ON A SHADY SECOND MARKET OF POORLY EXPENSIVE REFURBISHED UNITS THAT ARE QUICKLY FAILING. THE NEXT ONLY OPTION IS A COMPLETE ENGINE, TRANSMISSION EMISSIONS CHANGE THAT IS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE IN CALIFORNIA AND STILL MEET INSPECTION RULES LEAVING A MASS OF JEEP OWNERS WITH NO RECOURSE.
DURING PUMPING OF GASOLINE INTO THE TANK WHEN THE TANKS FILLS, GAS SPEWS FROM THE TANK EVERYTIME. THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN WITH EITHER OF THE OTHER 3 JEEPS THAT I OWN. THIS CAUSES A POTENTIAL FOR FIRE AND/OR INJURY DUE TO GASOLINE SPLASHING ON HANDS, ARMS AND CLOTHES.
HARD SHIFTING FROM 1ST TO 2ND. STUCK IN 2ND WHILE IN INTERSTATE TRAFFIC. WHAT A NIGHTMARE! IT'S ALL OVER THE INTERNET ABOUT THE BAD PCM PROBLEM BUT NO HELP FROM THE DEALER DUE TO THE AGE OF THE VEHICLE EVEN WITH ONLY 19000 MILES.
WHEN I FILL UP WITH GAS AT A STATION, AFTER THE PUMP CLICKS, ABOUT A PINT OF GAS SPLASHES OUT OF THE FILLER AND DOWN THE BODY ONTO THE GROUND.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING OVER 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHOOK AND VIBRATED VIOLENTLY AFTER DRIVING OVER A POTHOLE. THE CONTACT HAD TO TAKE HER FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TO GET THE VEHICLE TO STOP SHAKING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED AT LEAST ONCE PER YEAR SINCE IT WAS PURCHASED NEW. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (DIEHL CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM OF ROBINSON, 6181 STEUBENVILLE PIKE, MCKEES ROCKS, PA 15136) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE JOINTS, CONTROL ARM, AND WHEEL BEARING FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY THE SAME DEALER EACH YEAR FOR THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 33265612. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 41,000.
JEEP WRANGLER 2005 AND 2006. WHEN FILLING THE GAS TANK AT THE GAS STATION, GASOLINE WILL OVERFLOW MOMENTARILY, SPILLING GASOLINE ON THE GROUND FROM THE GAS TANK FILLER TUBE WHEN THE GAS PUMP FUEL NOZZLE SHUTS OFF. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON THE 2005 AND 2006 MODEL YEAR WRANGLERS I HAVE OWN(ED). REVIEWING COMMENTS ON THE INTERNET THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE MODEL YEARS. AN ADDITIONAL PROBLEM IS THE INTERNAL STICKING (DUE TO INTERNAL VALVE PLUG EXPANSION) CHECK VALVE THAT CAUSES SPILLAGE ALSO MAY NOT PERMIT PROPER FUEL FILLING.
GAS TANK BLOWS OUT A LARGE AMOUNT OF GAS AFTER FILLING UP.
WHEN FILLING THE FUEL TANK TO FULL GASOLINE WILL SHOOT OUT OF THE FILLER HOLE AND OVER THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE PROBLEM IS CONSISTENT (I CAN ONLY RECALL 4 TIMES WHEN IT DID NOT OCCUR SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN 2015 WITH 82,000 MILES ON IT. IN ALL CASES THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, ENGINE WAS OFF, PARKED NEXT TO THE GASOLINE PUMP.
2006 JEEP WRANGLER RUBICON INLINE 6 AUTOMATIC PCM FAILURE CAUSING MY JEEP TO HARD SHIFT FROM 1ST TO 2ND. WHEN COLD JEEP WILL DROP OUT OF GEAR WHILE DRIVING!!!! FOR 5 SECONDS BEFORE HARD SHIFTING BACK INTO GEAR. THE DEALERSHIP CHARGED ME $955 FOR UNRELATED PARTS THAT DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE! BEFORE I MYSELF FOUND IT TO BE THE PCM. THIS PROBLEM NEEDS TO BE RECALLED! BEFORE GOING TO THE DEALERSHIP I TOOK IT TO A TRANSMISSION SHOP WHO CHARGED ME $450 TO REPLACE SOLENOIDS WHICH WAS A FALSE TROUBLE CODE!!! I AM SO LIVID BECAUSE NOW I AM GOING TO HAVE TO BUY A PCM WHICH ARE VERY EXPENSIVE WHEN THEY ARE AVAILABLE TO EVEN ORDER!!!
I GET THE DEATH SHAKE. THE FIRST TIME WAS IN 2015 AND I HAD IT FIXED. I HAVE IT AGAIN, STARTED IN JULY 2017. IT IS SO DANGEROUS. I LITERALLY HAVE TO STOP MY JEEP TO MAKE IT STOP. IT IS USUALLY WHEN I AM DRIVING BETWEEN 50 - 55 MPH. IT IS AWFUL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE MADE A LOUD GRINDING/SCREECHING NOISE. THE CONTACT SUSPECTED THAT THERE WAS AN OIL DRIVE PUMP ASSEMBLY FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DEALER POURED THE WRONG OIL IN THE VEHICLE, WHICH CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
JEEP WRANGLER X 2006 AUTOMATIC. STHALL WHILE RUNNING IN HIGHWAY .THEN WOULD NOT START ,NO CRANK. NO FUEL PUMP START , NO PANEL INDICATORS WORKING. SHOWS A 06- 02 CODE ERROR IN PANEL. MEAN FUELING CALIBRATION ERROR. 3 OR 4 DAYS LATER IT START LIKE NEW.
THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE (TCM), PART OF THE COMPUTER, FAILS AND MANIFESTS AS A FAILURE TO SHIFT FROM 1ST TO 2ND, OVER REVVING, LOUD THUDS/CLUNKS WHEN IT DOES SHIFT FROM 1ST TO 2ND. COMPUTER (TCM) CAN BE RESET IF BATTERY (+) DISCONNECTED AND GROUNDED OUT. THIS PROBLEM IS NOT RARE, ESTIMATE SEVERAL 1,000 JEEP WRANGLERS '05 AND '06 WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS ARE EXPERIENCING THIS NOW OR WILL. CHRYSLER HAS NO INTEREST IN REPAIRS OR PROVIDING PARTS. FROM JEEP FORUMS, BEST GUESS IS A RESISTOR OR CAPACITOR ON THE COMPUTER MOTHERBOARD FAILS OR CRITICAL ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS WERE POORLY/INCORRECTED SOLDERED LEADING TO INSUFFICIENT AND INCONSISTENT CONNECTIVITY.
WHEN REFUELING THE VEHICLE, GASOLINE WITH SHOOT OUT OF THE FUEL FILL WHEN THE TANK IS NEARLY FULL. FROM SPEAKING WITH OTHER JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED OWNERS (2005 & 2006 MODELS ONLY), THIS ISSUE IS COMMONPLACE AND UNADDRESSED BY JEEP. IT IS REPORTEDLY DUE TO A DESIGN FLAW IN THE OVERFLOW VALUE IN THE FILLER TUBE. EACH TIME THIS HAPPENS, APPROXIMATELY 1/4 OF GASOLINE WILL FLOW OUT OF THE TANK BEFORE THE GAS PUMP CLICKS OFF. THIS HAS EXPOSED ME TO GASOLINE ON MY SKIN, AS WELL AS SPILLED FUEL ON THE GROUND. THERE IS RISK DUE TO EXPOSURE TO ETHANOL AND OTHER CHEMICALS, ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURE WITH GASOLINE ON THE GROUND, AND FIRE RISK.
2006 TJ FUEL OVERFLOW WHEN FILLING TANK. FUEL SPITS OUT OF GAS TANK ON TO PERSON HOLDING THE GAS HANDLE PUMP WHEN FILLING. AUTO IS OFF AND STATIONARY. IT HAPPENS EVERY TIME.
EVERY TIME I FILL MY JEEP, IT OVERFLOWS AND SPILLS FUEL ALL OVER THE SIDE OF MY JEEP AND THE GROUND BEFORE THE RULE PUMP SHUTS OFF. I HAVE THIS ISSUE WITH EVERY FILL UP AT ANY FUEL STATION I USE. IT WILL SOMETIMES OVERFILL AND SPILL ENOUGH OUT AS TO NECESSITATE THE USE OF A FUEL SPILL CLEANUP KIT AND I'VE HAD SEVERAL SHOES AND PANTS RUINED FROM SPOUTING FUEL. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL OTHER JEEP WRANGLER OWNERS OF THE SAME YEAR AND MODEL COMPLAIN OF THIS EXACT PROBLEM. I FEEL THIS IS NOT ONLY AN ENVIRONMENTAL PROBLEM, BUT A FIRE SAFETY PROBLEM AS WELL. IT CANNOT BE SAFE TO HAVE A SYSTEM THAT OVERFILLS AND SPILLS GASOLINE EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU FILL YOUR VEHICLE CREATING A SIGNIFICANT RISK OF FIRE.
I HAVE A 2006 JEEP WRANGLER TJ I BOUGHT USED HAVE HAD IT GOING ON 6 MONTHS AND EVERYTIME I GO TO THE GAS STATION AND FILL UP WHEN THE PUMP KICKS OFF THE GAS SPEWS OUT ALL DOWN THE SIDE OF MY JEEP FLARES AND THE JEEP ITSELF AND DOWN ONTO THE GROUND WHEN I FILLED IT UP THE FIRST TIME IT WAS ALL OVER MY HAND MY LEG AND RUINED MY SHOES!! I GOT ON A JEPP FORUM AND WAS TOLD TO GET A GMC FILLER HOSE WITH A CHECK VALVE AND I DID AND PAID TO HAVE IT INSTALLED AND I STILL HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. I HAVE DONE A LOT OF RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET AND I AM NOT ALONE HERE THIS IS A HUGE ISSUE AND IT IS GOING TO LEAD TO SOMEONE GETTING HURT OR WORSE KILLED!! IS THIS WHAT IT'S GOING TO TAKE FOR YOU TO FIX THIS PROBLEM WITH THE WRANGLERS? I SURE HOPE NOT!! THIS IS BEYOND RIDICULOUS AND NEEDS ADDRESSED AND FIXED ASAP.....
EVERY TIME I FILL MY JEEP WITH GASOLINE, WHEN IT REACHES IT'S CAPACITY, GAS SPEWS OUT OF THE FILLER TUBE AND ONTO THE REAR FENDER FLARE AND SUBSEQUENTLY ONTO THE GROUND. THIS IS NOT A NEW ISSUE WITH THESE JEEPS AND IT IS A FIX THAT SHOULD BE DONE BY THE MANUFACTURER DUE TO THE OBVIOUS SAFETY CONCERNS. THIS IS A FIRE HAZARD AND COULD CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY IF NOT CORRECTED. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME I FILL THE VEHICLE UP WITH GAS AND IT'S RIDICULOUS.

DEALERSHIP HAS NO SOLUTIONS OTHER THAN TIRE ROTATION AND ALIGNMENTS. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE VIBRATION WAS SO SEVERE, HE HAD TO SLOW THE VEHICLE DOWN, BECAUSE IT FELT AS THOUGH THE VEHICLE WAS FALLING APART. *JB
MY JEEP WRANGLER SPEWS GAS ON EVERY FILL UP. RUINED PANTS, SHOES. FEAR GAS IS GOING TO IGNITE FROM HOT EXHAUST. DOES EVERY EVERY TIME. SOMEONE GOING TO GET HURT SERIOUSLY. EVERYONE IS PURCHASING GM FILLER TUBE WITH FLAPPER TO REPLACE JEEP FILLER. DONE SO FREQUENTLY CAN'T GET PART. JEEP COULD FIX EASILY INSTALLING 20 DOLLAR FILLER TUBE OR PUTTING NEW VALVE IN TANK. THIS IS SERIOUS.
THE ECU HAS FAILED 4 TIMES IN MY JEEP. BY DOING A LITTLE RESEARCH ON A COUPLE OF JEEP PAGES IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR THIS PARTICULAR MODEL. IT HAS BEEN REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY, FOR THE PAST 2 YEARS. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT CHRYSLER WILL NOT REPLACE IT AGAIN. THE PROBLEM THAT IS CAUSED IS THE WAY THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS FROM 1ST GEAR TO 2ND GEAR . SOMETIMES THE JEEP WILL GO INTO "LIMP MODE". THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE AUGUST OF 2016, A TOTAL OF 4 ECU'S HAS BEEN INSTALLED.

WHEN YOU FILL UP THE GAS TANK THE AUTOMATIC STOP DOESN'T WORK AND THE GAS SPILLS OUT ALL OVER THE PLACE. I BOUGHT THE JEEP USED ON JULY 11, 2014, AND I JUST HAVE NEVER DONE ANYTHING ABOUT IT. WHEN I BOUGHT IT, IT HAD 35,000 MILES, NOW I HAVE 70,666 MILES. I WENT ONLINE AND ON THE JEEP FORUM AND YOUTUBE SOME PEOPLE HAD FIXES BY BUYING A GM NEW FUEL FILLER HOSE PART #15131046 AND REPLACING IT AND IT SEEMS TO HAVE WORKED. ACCORDING TO WHAT I'VE READ THE WARRENTIES WERE EXTENDED FOR 2007 AND OVER BUT NOT THE 2006'S.
THE PCM USED WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS HAS A SERIOUS AND VERY COMMON FAILURE. CHRYSLER HAS KNOWN SINCE 2006 AND HAS MADE NO EFFORT TO DATE TO RECTIFY THE ISSUE. THE TCM SIDE (INTERNAL WITH THE PCM) HAS A PROBLEM THAT CAUSES HARSH SHIFTING ISSUES. THE ONLY KNOWN SUCCESSFUL REPAIR IS TO REPLACE THE PCM. THIS HAS CAUSED THEM TO BE UNAVAILABLE AND WHEN THEY ARE, THEY ARE 3 TO 5 TIMES MORE EXPENSIVE THAN OTHER YEARS. ALSO, THESE REMANUFACTURED PCM'S ARE NOT RELIABLY REPAIRED, IT IS USUAL THAT SEVERAL DIFFERENT PCM'S BE INSTALLED BEFORE A RELIABLE ONE IS FOUND. I KNOW OF A 2006 JEEP TJL THAT HAD SIX MOPAR REMANUFACTURED COMPUTERS INSTALLED IN 90 DAYS, ALL BY THE SAME DEALERSHIP, BEFORE ONE THAT ACTUALLY WORKED WAS FOUND. THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF POSTS ON EVERY ONLINE FORUMS THAT JEEPERS USE THAT DISCUSS THE PROBLEM IN GREAT DETAIL. A QUICK GOOGLE SEARCH WILL NET YOU ALL YOU EVER WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT THE 2006 WRANGLER AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION PCM FAILURES.
THE PLASTIC PART, YES PLASTIC, THAT ALLOWS THE TRANSMISSION TO BE SHIFTED INTO PARK BROKE AND I WAS UNABLE TO SHIFT INTO PARK. THIS PART IS PART OF THE GEAR SHIFTER ON AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION AND THERE ARE SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ON THE ON-LINE CHAT SPACES.
LEFT REAR BRAKE LOCKS WHEEL WHEN EMERGENCY STOP OR WET PAVEMENT. NO VISIBLE DEFECT BY 2 BRAKE SHOPS. HAPPENS WHEN MOVING ON DRY OR WET CITY STREETS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING COLUMN PREMATURELY FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS UNCERTAIN OF WHEN THE RECALL REPAIR WOULD BE COMPLETED FOR SEVERAL MONTHS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER WAS UNKNOWN. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE NOT AVAILABLE.
FUEL PUMP DOES NOT SHUT OFF WHEN FULL CAUSING ABOUT 10 OUNCES OF FUEL TO SPRAY ON ME AND ON THE GROUND. IT ALSO DRIPS DOWN THE PAINT WHICH CAN CAUSE ISSUES DOWN THE ROAD OVER TIME
WHILE FUELING AND BEFORE THE PUMP AUTOMATICALLY SHUTS OFF, FUEL SPRAYS OUT OF THE FILLER NECK, RUNS DOWN THE FENDER AND ONTO THE GROUND. THIS IS NOT JUST RANDOMLY IT HAPPENS AT EVERY FILL UP.
