UPON FILLING THE GAS TANK THERE IS CONSISTENT FUEL SPILL BACK. FUEL SPEWS FROM THE FILLER OPENING. SECOND OWNER, NOT SURE IF THIS HAS BEEN OCCURRING PRIOR TO DATE AND MILEAGE ABOVE. *KB
I'M WRITING THE NHTSA TO PROVIDE MY EXPERIENCE WITH A GAS OVERFLOW ISSUE ON MY 2006 JEEP UNLIMITED. WITHOUT FAIL, AT EACH FILL-UP, THE GAS NOZZLE WILL ALLOW GAS TO BACKFLOW OUT OF THE FILLER NECK, PAST THE VAPOR RECOVERY SYSTEM AND SPRAY OUTWARD AND DRAIN DOWN THE CAR. IN MOST CASES, AS MUCH AS 1.5-2 QUARTS OF GASOLINE IS SPEWING OUT OF THE FILLER NECK. IN ALMOST ALL CASES, EMPLOYEES FROM THE STATION MUST COME OUT AND COMPLETE REMEDIATION EFFORTS TO ABSORB THE SPILLED GAS. IN MOST CASES, I RECEIVE A GOOD DOUSING OF GAS ON MY HANDS AND CLOTHES. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND BECAUSE MY CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY DUE TO AGE, NOT MILES, THEY HAVE INFORMED ME THAT I WILL NEED TO PAY UPWARDS OF $1,000 FOR A NEW GAS TANK WITH THE SAME FAULTY CHECK-VALVE DESIGN. I UNDERSTAND THAT CHRYSLER IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND THAT THEY STATE THE CAUSE TO BE FROM A SWOLLEN CHECK-VALVE RELATED TO ETHANOL GAS. I AM AT A LOSS AS TO HOW TO PROCEED AND AM LOOKING FOR THE NHTSA TO STEP IN AND FORCE A RECALL. *TR
DURING REFUELING, AS THE TANK IS ALMOST FULL, GASOLINE SPLASHES OUT (OR ERUPTS) FROM THE FILLER OPENING JUST AFTER THE GAS PUMP NOZZLE SHUTS OFF. THIS HAS BEEN INCREASINGLY HAPPENING SINCE THE INITIAL INCIDENT. IT HAS HAPPENED IN MANY DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS, IN MANY DIFFERENT STATES. CURRENT MILEAGE ON THE VEHICLE IS 52217. DURING THE FIRST YEAR OR SO, THE AMOUNT OF FUEL THAT SPLASHED BACK OUT OF THE TANK DEPENDED ON THE GASOLINE FLOW RATE AND SENSITIVITY OF THE PUMP NOZZLE SHUT-OFF MECHANISM. SOMETIMES THE SOUND OF GASOLINE STARTING TO BACK UP IN THE FILLER NECK IS USED TO SHUT-OFF THE PUMP NOZZLE BEFORE THE GASOLINE SPLASHES OUT, BUT OFTEN IT IS TOO NOISY AROUND GAS STATIONS TO HEAR IT AND/OR THE GASOLINE IS FLOWING TOO FAST TO TURN IT OFF IN TIME. IN THE LAST YEAR, HOWEVER, FUEL HAS BEEN SPLASHING OUT JUST ABOUT EVERY TIME THE TANK IS REFUELED. IT SPLASHES OUT ON THE FENDER PANEL UNDER THE FILLER OPENING, ONTO THE UNDERCARRIAGE, AND ON THE GROUND. THIS CREATES A HAZARDOUS, MESSY, AND WASTEFUL SPILL OF GASOLINE. THIS IS PARTICULARLY A BIG PROBLEM IN STATES SUCH AS OR THAT DO NOT LET THE VEHICLE OWNER PUMP THEIR OWN GAS. *TR
FUEL TANK OVERFILLS AND SPILLS GAS ON THE VEHICLE, THE GROUND, AND THE PERSON WHO IS PUMPING GAS EVERYTIME THE TANK IS FILLED UP. *TR
WHEN MY 2006 JEEP WRANGLER HITS A BUMP OR AN IMPERFECTION IN THE ROAD WHILE TRAVELLING AT 45MPH AND ABOVE, THE JEEP WILL BEGIN TO SHAKE SO SEVERELY THAT A CRASH SEEMS INEVITABLE UNLESS I SLAM ON THE BRAKES AND PULL OVER ON THE SHOULDER. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME MORE THAN I CAN COUNT AND CONTINUES TO BE A DANGEROUS PROBLEM. PLEASE HELP!!! *TR
AT 20,000 MILES ON THE JEEP ANY TIME THAT WE FILL THE GAS TANK, AT ANY STATION, IT SPILLS OUT 1/2 TO 1 CUP OF FUEL AND SPRAYS ALL OVER THE PLACE. THIS IS UNSAFE FOR US PERSONALLY AND THE ENVIRONMENT. IT DOESN'T MAKE A DIFFERENCE IF THE PUMP IS GOING FAST OR SLOW IT SPITS CONSTANTLY AND THEN SPILLS OUT AT THE END. WE NEVER TOP OFF. THE JEEP CURRENTLY ONLY HAS 22,000 MILES ON IT. *KB
WHEN PUTTING FUEL IN THE VEHICLE WITHOUT USING THE HOLD OPEN FEATURE ON THE PUMP NOZZLE FUEL SPRAYED OUT AROUND THE NOZZLE AND RAN DOWN THE SIDE OF THE JEEP. *TR
WHENEVER I ADD GASOLINE (FROM ANY STATION), A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF FUEL WILL SLOSH BACK OUT OF THE FILLER RIGHT BEFORE THE PUMP KICKS OFF. CHECKING WITH THE DEALER AND OTHER SOURCES, IT'S A KNOWN PROBLEM. HOWEVER, JEEP IS ONLY CONCERNED WITH FIXING THE 2007 AND NEWER JK MODELS. THEIR FIX FOR THOSE MODELS IS AN EXTENSION OF THE WARRANTY. MY OTHER SOURCES SAY THAT IT'S RAMPANT IN YEARS PRIOR AS WELL. THE DEALER SERVICE MANAGER SAYS IT'S THE "ROLLOVER VALVE" THAT GOES BAD. THE VALVE ISN'T REPAIRABLE. THE ENTIRE FUEL TANK NEEDS REPLACED. *TR
EVERY TIME I FILL UP FUEL SPEWS OUT. I HAVE TRIED SLOW, FAST, DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS AND IT STILL HAPPENS. I NOW UNDERSTAND THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM AND JEEP HAS REFUSED TO RECTIFY IT. *TR
JEEP WRANGLER RUBICON UNLIMITED FUEL OVERFLOWS EVERYTIME AT THE PUMP. DOES NOT MATTER WHERE I FILL UP OR HOW I PUT THE NOZZLE IN THE TANK. FUEL PUMP SHUTS OFF AND SITS SECONDS LATER ABOUT A CUP OF FUEL WILL SPIT OUT, ABOUT 1 TO 2 FEET AND RUN DOWN THE BODY. IF YOU WERE STANDING IN THE WRONG SPOT IT WOULD BE A REAL MESS. I JUST PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE USED AND CALLED THE PREVIOUS OWNER - HE SAID HE BOUGHT IT WITH 8000 MILES ON IT AND IT HAS DONE IT SINCE IT WAS NEW. *KB
WHEN PUMPING FUEL INTO THE VEHICLE WHEN THE TANK GETS FULL THE FUEL PUMP DOESN'T SHUT OFF, INSTEAD THE FUEL SPRAYS OUT ALL OVER THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND ON THE GROUND. *TR
FUEL SPRAYS OUT OF FILLER NECK WHEN REFUELING THE VEHICLE. *TR
OVERSPILL DURING REFUELING, EVERY TIME. FUEL DOES NOT STOP AUTOMATICALLY AND OVERFLOWS (SPEWS) OUT ONTO SIDE OF VEHICLE, ONTO PAVEMENT AND ALSO ONTO DRIVER'S CLOTHES. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT NUMEROUS DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS AND PUMPS. THIS PRESENTS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH IF THE FUEL IS IGNITED. *KB
NOW THAT HAVE FORCED CHRYSLER TO RECALL JEEP MODELS FOR AIRBAG PROBLEMS HOW ABOUT FORCING JEEP/CHRYSLER TO RECALL AND FIX JEEP FOR THE "DEATH WOBBLE". I FIRST EXPERIENCED THIS LAST YEAR. AT ABOUT 50MPH THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY. I THOUGHT I WAS IN A BLENDER. I CHECKED THE INTERNET AND JEEP FORUM AND FOUND THIS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH JEEP WRANGLERS. I EVEN CHECKED WITH THE JEEP DEALER HERE IN OKLAHOMA AND WAS TOLD IT COULD BE THE BALL JOINTS, STEERING CYLINDER AND/OR EVEN WORN TIRES. HE EVEN ACKNOWLEDGED THE PROBLEM. MY MECHANIC SAID THE BALL JOINTS WERE GOOD... THE TIRES JUST OK. BUT STEERING CYLINDER WOULD PROBABLY NEED REPLACING. SO I PAID $145.00 TO THE JEEP/CHRYSLER DEALER FOR A NEW STEERING CYLINDER. TURNS OUT THE ONE I PURCHASED WAS MUCH BIGGER THEN THE ONE I REPLACED. IT STILL SHOOK A LITTLE UNTIL I REPLACED THE TIRES AT ANOTHER $650.00. THIS NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED. I HOPE YOU WILL LOOK INTO THIS. PLEASE BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT AND MAYBE ALREADY HAS. THANKS *TR
WHILEL FILLING FUELING FILL SPILLS OUT OF TANK. *TR
BETWEEN 45-55MPH MY FRONT WHEELS STARTS TO WOBBLE BACK AND FORTH VIOLENTLY CAUSING ME TO HAVE TO HIT THE BRAKES TO GET THE SHAKING TO STOP. THE STEERING WHEEL ALSO WOBBLES BACK AND FORTH MAKING IT HARD TO STEER. THIS IS A HAZARD AS IT HAPPENS IN TRAFFIC AND RANDOMLY ALTHOUGH MORE CONSISTENT. I HAVE HAD A STEERING CYLINDER REPLACED BUT IT HAS NOT FIXED THE PROBLEM. THE WOBBLING IS JUST GETTING WORSE. I DO NOT BELIEVE THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD ANY SUSPENSION MODIFICATIONS. IT IS A SERIOUS SITUATION THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY CHRYSLER. *TR
THE VEHICLE SHAKES VIOLENTLY AT SPEEDS OF 50MPH OR ABOVE. THE SHAKING DOES NOT STOP AND I MUST IMMEDIATELY STOP THE VEHICLE WHICH HAS ALMOST CAUSED MAJOR ACCIDENTS. THIS FIRST INCIDENT OCCURRED TWO YEARS AGO, I HAVE REPLACED THE SHOCKS, STEERING STABILIZER, UPPER AND LOWER BALL JOINTS, ALL FOUR TIRES AND HAVE HAD IT PROPERLY ALIGNED. THE PROBLEM WILL STOP FOR A FEW MONTHS THEN SUDDENLY HAPPEN AGAIN. AFTER DOING FURTHER RESEARCH I REALIZED THIS IS CALLED THE DEATH WOBBLE AND THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY JEEP OWNER TO EXPERIENCE THIS. THIS VIOLENT SHAKING IS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD AND IS NOT BEING ADDRESSED BY JEEP / CHRYSLER AS A WARRANTY OR RECALL ISSUE. *JS
JUST BOUGHT THE JEEP LATE SEPTEMBER AND EVERYTIME I FILL IT THE GAS SPILLS OUT ALL OVER ME, THE JEEP AND THE GROUND. ITS NOT ALWAYS RELIABLE TO GUESS WHEN IT IS CLOSE TO DONE SO I TEND TO STAND BACK SO IT MISSES ME. STILL GAS GOES EVERYWHERE WHICH IS A SAFETY HAZARD. I HAVE HEARD FROM OTHER JEEP OWNERS THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM, AND THE PRICE TO FIX IT HAS DOUBLED. THE JEEP DEALER TELLS ME THAT THEY COVER THE FIX FOR 2007 AND 2008 BUT NOT 2006. REALLY? WHY WOULD THAT BE?
THIS STARTED IN OCTOBER 2011 WITH MY 2006 JEEP WRANGLER. WHEN I PUT GAS IN THE TANK, AS SOON AS ITS FULL AND THE PUMP SHUTS OFF, GAS BURSTS OUT OF THE TANK ALL OVER THE JEEP, THE GROUND, EVERYWHERE. THIS IS CERTAINLY A SAFETY ISSUE, ALONG WITH AN ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUE! I'M HEARING ABOUT SO MANY JEEPS THAT ARE DOING THIS. WHY IS THERE NO RECALL? I'M HAVING IT LOOKED AT BY MY LOCAL JEEP DEALER, BUT SO FAR THEY SAID CHRYSLER IS AWARE OF THIS BUT HAS "NO FIX" ON THIS SITUATION.
MY 2006 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED HAS JUST STARTED HAVING AN ISSUE WHERE THE GAS SPEWS OUT OF THE FILL NECK BEFORE THE PUMP HANDLE CLICKS OFF. THIS HAS HAPPENED THE LAST 3 TIMES I HAVE FILLED UP. THIS IS AT A STATION WHERE I HAVE FILLED UP MANY TIMES WITHOUT INCIDENT. NOT ONLY DOES THIS GET GAS ON MY VEHICLE AND PERSON, THIS SPILLS GAS ALL OVER THE PUMP HANDLE AND GROUND AT THE STATION. THIS IS A MAJOR INCONVENIENCE TO MYSELF, DAMAGING TO MY VEHICLES PAINT, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY DANGEROUS. I HAVE READ OF A LARGE NUMBER OF INDIVIDUALS WITH THIS ISSUE ON THEIR JEEP VEHICLES. I WOULD EXPECT JEEP WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR CORRECTING THIS ISSUE DUE TO THE DANGEROUS, WASTEFUL, AND SIMPLY UNACCEPTABLE CONDITION. FOR ME PERSONALLY, I DON'T EXPECT THAT WITH 46K MILES ON MY JEEP THAT THIS SHOULD HAPPEN, AND BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE OWNER TO FIX. I HOPE THAT THERE CAN BE SOME ACTION TAKEN TO HOLD JEEP RESPONSIBLE, AND REMEDY THIS (COMMON) ISSUE. THANK YOU. *TR
OPDA(DISTRIBUTOR) APPEARS TO HAVE CREATED EXCESSIVE HEAT AT THE DRIVE GEAR FROM THE CAMSHAFT AND CAUSED A FAILURE OF A CAMSHAFT LIFTER OR FOLLOWER WHICH WORE DOWN THE CAMSHAFT AND RAN METAL SHAVINGS OR CHIPS THROUGHOUT THE ENGINE WITH THE OIL AND CAUSED ENGINE FAILURE. THE OIL LEVEL WAS FULL PRIOR TO DRAINING IT TO SEE HOW MUCH METAL IT CONTAINED. *TR
EVERY TIME I PUT GAS IN THE CAR, FUEL SPILLS OUT OF THE GAS TANK FILLER HOLE ALL OVER THE CAR. I HAVE BEEN FILLING GAS TANKS FOR 40 YEARS AND I KNOW ALL THE TRICKS. I DO NOT TOP OFF AND AM CAREFUL TO REDUCE FLOW WHEN I THINK IT IS NEAR THE TOP. DOESN'T MATTER. IT SPILLS OUT ANYWAY. AT EVERY GAS STATION. *TR

EVERY TIME I FILL UP MY GAS TANK THE FUEL SPILLS OUT AND DOWN THE SIDE OF MY JEEP. I HAVE WITNESSED THIS BEING A PROBLEM WITH NUMEROUS JEEP OWNERS AND BELIEVE THAT THIS IS A FAULTY INLET CHECK VALVE THAT IS NOT ONLY COSTING ME MONEY FROM WASTED FUEL BUT ALSO CREATING A ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARD FROM SPILLED GASOLINE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 60 MPH WHEN A SQUEALING NOISE WAS HEARD FROM THE OIL PUMP ASSEMBLY NEAR THE CAM SHAFT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE DEALER CONFIRMED THAT THE OIL FAILED TO PUMP THROUGH THE VEHICLE PROPERLY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY ADVISED THAT THE VIN DID NOT QUALIFY FOR REPAIRS UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 06V147000 (POWER TRAIN: CLUTCH ASSEMBLY). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED, THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,500 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 37,000.
GAS STILL OUT WHEN FILLING UP GAS TANK. THE SYSTEM DOESN'T STOP AT GAS PUMPS ALL OTHER CARS EVER DRIVEN. GAS ALWAYS STILLS OUT BEFORE IT STOPS THE PUMP. THIS OCCURS AT ALL PUMPS AND APPEARS TO BE A COMMON AND ONGOING ISSUE WITH JEEP OWNERS. *TR
WHEN FILLING THE GAS TANK EVERY TIME THE FUEL SPRAYS OUT OF THE FILLER NOZZLE BEFORE THE PUMP CAN AUTO SHUTOFF. EVERY TIME - THIS CAUSES GAS TO LEAK DOWN THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE, ON ME BEFORE I LEARNED TO GET OUT OF THE WAY AND ALL OVER THE GROUND. THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THIS FROM HAPPENING IS TO NOT FILL UP ALL THE WAY WITH GAS. OTHERWISE IT DOES THIS EVERY SINGLE FILL UP. *TR
SPEWED GAS ALL OVER BARE LEGS WITH HAND ON THE NOZZLE, THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME I PUT GAS IN. IT ALSO AIR LOCKS /STOPS PUMPING EVEN AT LOW SPEED HAVE TO PULL THE FILLER AND REINSERT TO GET IT TO FILL... THEN CLOSE TO THE TOP BUT NOT ALL THE WAY IT PUKES GAS ALL OVER BODY HAVE TO STAND OFF TO THE BACK OF JEEP WITH HAND HOLDING HANDLE EVERY TIME I TRY TO FILL UP HAVE NEVER HAD THE GAS GAUGE SHOW ALL THE WAY FULL. I BOUGHT THE JEEP USED LESS THAN 2 MONTHS AGO AND HAVE READ OF SIMILAR PROBLEMS WITH THIS YEAR IS THERE A RECALL??? *TR
WHEN FILLING THE GAS TANK, IT SPILLS. PRESSURE IN THE TANK AND/OR FILLER HOSE BUILDS UP AND CAUSES THE FUEL TO SPRAY OUT, PRIOR TO THE TANK REACHING A FILLED CONDITION. THIS HAS HAPPENED FROM THE FIRST FILL-UP TO PRESENT...OVER A PERIOD OF 4 YEARS...AND CONTINUES. SEEMS TO BE A POOR DESIGN OF ANGLE OF THE TANK FULLER HOSE. *TR
EVERYTIME I FILL UP MY JEEP WRANGLER GAS SHOOTS OUT AND SPILLS ALL OVER MY FENDER AND GROUND, I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY CAR DO THIS EVER AND I KNOW IT'S A DEFECT THAT JEEP IS AWARE OF AND WON'T FIX THEM UNDER WARRANTY WHICH THEY SHOULD. *TR
MY 2006 JEEP WRANGLER RUBICON GAS TANK OVERFLOWS EVERY TIME I FILL IT UP. SPRAYS GAS EVERYWHERE. *KB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE CONTACT DROVE OVER A ROAD BUMP WHEN THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHAKE VIGOROUSLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MECHANIC REPLACED THE STABILIZER BAR TWICE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,000.

EVERYTIME I FILL UP MY CAR, GAS SPILLS OVER ONTO THE SIDE OF MY CAR, TIRE AND GROUND, INCLUDING OVER THE PUMP HANDLE ITSELF AND MY HANDS. VERY DANGEROUS IF THERE WAS A SPARK I WOULD GO UP IN FLAMES WITH THE CAR. *TR
THE GAS OVERFLOWS OUT OF THE FUEL TANK WHEN FILLING. THE STOP DOESN'T COME ON AT THE RIGHT TIME. *KB

2006 JEEP WRANGLER. GAS TANK FILLUP, AT ANY GAS STATION, RESULTS IN TANK OVERFLOW. BURPS OUT UP TO 1/4 GALLON OF GAS BEFORE PUMP STOPS. THIS IS A WELL KNOWN AND COMMON PROBLEM FOR ALL JEEP WRANGLERS, MOST MODEL YEARS. HAPPENS EVERY TIME I FILL UP, NOT JUST OCCASIONALLY. *TT
2006 JEEP WRANGLER, UNLIMITED - GASOLINE OVERFLOWS FROM TANK WHEN FILLING UP. HAPPENS EVERY TIME, NOT JUST OCCASIONALLY AND COVERS THE SIDE OF JEEP IN GAS AND OFTEN GAS SPRAYS ONTO MY HANDS AND CLOTHING. *TR
WHEN FILLING VEHICLE GASOLINE SPRAYS OUT OF THE TANK IN LARGE AMOUNTS. IT SPRAYS OUT WITH SUCH FORCE IT WILL COVER YOUR LEGS IF YOU ARE STANDING NEAR BY. *TR
CONSISTENTLY, WHILE REFUELING THE VEHICLE, REGARDLESS OF FILL RATE, IF THE NOZZLE IS NOT STOPPED MANUALLY, GASOLINE ERUPTS FROM THE FILLER NECK WHEN THE TANK IS FULL. IT IS USUALLY ENOUGH TO LEAVE GAS DRIPPING DOWN THE VEHICLE AND A SMALL PUDDLE UNDERNEATH. THIS HAPPENS EACH AND EVERY TIME IT IS FILLED. *TR
ON MY 2006 JEEP WRANGLER SPORT, THE GAS TANK OVERFLOWS FUEL EVERY SINGLE TIME I HAVE TO REFILL THE TANK. THE TANK APPARENTLY DOES NOT VENT PROPERLY, WHICH CAUSES THE AUTO-SHUT-OFF FEATURE ON GAS PUMPS TO FAIL UNTIL THE TANK OVERFLOWS, SPITTING GASOLINE OUT (OVER A FOOT FROM THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE AT TIMES), HITTING THE INDIVIDUAL FILLING UP THE TANK AND MAKING A MESS OF THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THIS FUEL OVERFLOW ISSUE OCCURS 100% OF THE TIME. UPON SPEAKING WITH THE DEALERSHIP, I WAS TOLD THAT THEY WILL NOT WARRANTY THIS, BUT THAT IT IS A "COMMON" PROBLEM AMONG 1997-PRESENT WRANGLERS. CHRYSLER ISSUED A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM ON 2007-LATER WRANGLER, BUT REFUSES TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE 2006 AND OLDER MODELS. REVIEWING BOTH LOCAL AND NATIONAL JEEP INTERNET FORUMS, I HAVE SEEN FORUM THREADS ON THIS TOPIC WITH LITERALLY HUNDREDS OF 1997-2006 JEEP WRANGLER OWNERS CLAIMING THE SAME PROBLEM AS I AM HAVING WITH MY 2006 WRANGLER. THE COST TO REPLACE THE FUEL TANK, THE ONLY SOLUTION, IS AT A COST OF $1100-$1200. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED IMMEDIATELY. FUEL TANK CONSISTENTLY OVERFILLS. PROBLEMS CAUSES GASOLINE TO OVERFILL THE TANK AND FLOW DOWN THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND COLLECT IN A POOL. THIS PROBLEM INITIALLY STARTED SLOWLY BUT NOW OCCURS CONSISTENTLY AT ALL GASOLINE STATIONS.
