I HAD A SET OF BF GOODRICH MUD TERRAIN TIRES 33" ON A 06 WRANGLER. THE TIRES WERE ABOUT 5 YEARS OLD BUT HAD BARELY BEEN USED, APPROXIMATELY 80% OF THE TREAD WAS LEFT. I SWAPPED THESE TIRES FROM A 73 CJ5 THAT I JUST WASN'T USING THAT MUCH ANYMORE. AFTER AROUND 4000-5000 MILES AFTER THE SWITCH THE TIRE POPPED ON ME GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY DOING 75-80 MPH. THE VEHICLE SHOOK FOR 2-3 SECONDS THEN I HEARD A "POP", INSTANTLY THIS THREW MY VEHICLE WHERE IT FLIPPED AND ROLLED AND TOTALED THE VEHICLE. I HAD TO BE AIRLIFTED AWAY AS A RESULT OF THIS ACCIDENT. INVESTIGATORS FROM JEEP AND MY INSURANCE COMPANY BOTH CONCLUDED THAT THIS WAS A PRODUCT DEFECT THAT CAUSED THE ACCIDENT. WHILE TAKING UP THE ISSUE WITH BF GOODRICH THEY ADVISED ME TO TAKE THE TIRE IN TO BE INSPECTED. THE TIRE STORE STATED AFTER ABOUT 10 SECONDS OF LOOKING AT THE TIRE THAT IT WAS CAUSED BY A ROAD HAZARD. I DID NOT HIT ANYTHING AT ALL DURING THIS 4 HOUR TRIP THAT I WAS JUST ON AND THE TIRE WAS INFLATED AT 35 PSI. BF GOODRICH DIDN'T CARE ABOUT THE ACCIDENT OR MY INJURIES. THEY DID OFFER ME 30% OFF A NEW TIRE. TOO BAD I DON'T HAVE A VEHICLE TO PUT A TIRE ON ANYMORE. I CHECKED THE AIR PRESSURE PRIOR TO THE BEGINNING OF THE TRIP FROM SAN DIEGO TO PHOENIX. I ALSO FILLED UP WITH GAS AND WALKED AROUND THE JEEP, TO WASH THE WINDOWS, AND DIDN'T NOTICE ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE TIRES. THE ROAD THAT I WAS TRAVELING ON WAS WELL MAINTAINED AND FREE FROM OBJECTS. I DID NOT RUN OVER ANYTHING. I DO HAVE CUSTODY OF THE BAD TIRE STILL ON THE RIM AND PLENTY OF PICTURES OF THE TIRE AND THE VEHICLE AFTER THE ACCIDENT. IT IS OBVIOUS THAT THE TIRE FAILURE CAUSED THE ACCIDENT. ONE PERSON SAID THAT THE TIRE LOOKED ALMOST LIKE IT WAS RE-TREADED. *KB
WE OWN A 2006 JEEP WRANGLER X WITH AROUND 60,000 MILES ON IT. IT STARTED A TERRIBLE WOBBLE IN THE FRONT END THAT IS CALLED "DEATH WOBBLE" I HAVE DONE MULTIPLE REPAIRS AND REPLACEMENTS OF PARTS TO NO AVAIL. I CALLED THE LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP FOR ADVICE THEIR ANSWER WAS TO REPLACE THE STEERING STABILIZER. I STATED THAT THIS HAD ALREADY BEEN DONE THEIR RESPONSE WAS " I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO TELL YOU THEN." THIS PROBLEM OCCURS AT 50 MILES PER HOUR AND WHEN IT BEGINS THE VEHICLE MUST COME TO COMPLETE STOP TO END THE WOBBLE. THE JEEP HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP MULTIPLE TIMES FOR THIS PROBLEM AND NO FIX HAS BEEN FOUND. I HAVE ROTATED THE TIRES TWICE AND THAT WORKS FOR ABOUT A WEEK AND THE PROBLEM RETURNS. THE TIRES HAVE BEEN REBALANCED TWICE ALSO. I HAVE REPLACED ALL THE SHOCKS, THE STEERING STABILIZER, AND IT HAS BEEN REALIGNED TWO TIMES. THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM FOR MANY PEOPLE AS CAN BE SEEN IF "DEATH WOBBLE" IS SEARCHED ON GOOGLE. THERE IS NO KNOWN REPAIR FOR THIS PROBLEM AND CHRYSLER CONTINUES TO IGNORE IT. *TR
FUEL OVERFLOWS AND EJECTS FROM VEHICLE AT EVERY REFUELING. IT CANNOT BE CONTROLLED NO MATTER HOW SLOW THE RATE OF REFUEL. OFTEN FUEL WILL EJECT AND SPLASH ONTO THE PERSON REFUELING. SOMETIMES FUEL WILL EJECT AND SPLASH INTO, OR NEAR THE FACE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING OVER A BUMP, AT ANY SPEED, THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE WOULD VIOLENTLY SHAKE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP WHERE IT WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED, BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,756.
WHEN FILLING GAS TANK, PUMP NOZZLE WILL NOT SHUT OFF AUTOMATICALLY. CONSISTENT PROBLEM AT EVERY GAS STATION, RESULTING IN GASOLINE SPILLING OUT ONTO SIDE OF VEHICLE AND ONTO GROUND BEFORE NOZZLE SHUTS OFF. JEEP HAS ONLY 8,500 MILES ON IT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED, FOLLOWED BY A RAPID DECREASE IN THE RPMS. THE ENGINE STALLED AND RESTARTED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED TEN TIMES WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER TWICE FOR THE SIMILAR FAILURE. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE OR LOCATE THE FAILURE . THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,000. UPDATED 07/28/11 *BF UPDATED 11/18/11
EVERY TIME I FILL THE TANK ON MY JEEP, IT DUMPS FUEL WHEN IT IS FULL. USUALLY SPRAYING ALL OVER ME AND THE SIDE OF THE JEEP.
MY GAS TANK OVERFILLS WHEN PUMPING GAS INSTEAD OF SHUTTING OFF WHEN IT IS FULL. *TR
WHEN OPERATING THE VEHICLE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, STRIKING A SMALL BUMP IN THE ROADWAY CAUSES SEVERE FRONT END OSCILLATION FROM THE AXEL. THE VIBRATION IS SO VIOLENT, IT CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO FEEL AS THOUGH IT WILL COME APART. THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THE VIBRATIONS IS TO ABRUPTLY REDUCE SPEEDS TO A STOP. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSIS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 25,000. *TR
MY 2006 JEEP WRANGLER SPITS GASOLINE OUT AT ME WHEN FILLING THE VEHICLE! IT ALWAYS HAPPENS WHEN NEARING FULL, NO MATTER WHAT I DO TO TRY TO AVOID IT FROM HAPPENING. SOMETIMES IT SPITS FORCEFULLY, HARD ENOUGH TO GET GASOLINE ON ME, SOMETIMES IT'S JUST A MINOR SPIT THAT JUST DRIBBLES DOWN THE VEHICLE. EITHER WAY, IT OCCURS EVERY TIME I ATTEMPT TO FILL THE TANK TO FULL. I HAVE RESORTED TO ONLY PUTTING 10 GALLONS OF GASOLINE IN AT A TIME, AND ONLY IF THE FUEL GAUGE READS BELOW 1/4, TO ENSURE I DON'T HAVE TO EXPERIENCE THE GASOLINE SPIT-BACK. NO PARTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED OR REPAIRED YET. *TR
DURING REFUELING GASOLINE SPITS BACK OUT OF THE FUEL FILLER TUBE NECK AT THE END OF THE FILL ONTO THE GROUND AND THE PERSON REFUELING THE JEEP IF HOLDING THE NOZZLE. MY 2006 JEEP WRANGLER SPEWS GAS OUT WHEN I'M FILLING THE TANK. IT HAPPENS EVERY TIME I PUT GAS IN IT. IT COMES OUT IN A GUSH, SPLASHING ALL OVER ME AND THE SIDE OF THE JEEP. I HAVEN'T HAD ANY PARTS REPAIRED OR REPAIRED YET. *TR
MY 2006 JEEP WRANGLER HAS DEVELOPED A CONSISTENT FAILURE TO STOP PUMPS AT GAS STATIONS FROM CONTINUING TO PUMP FUEL EVEN THOUGH THE TANK IS FULL. AS A RESULT, GASOLINE IS SPAT OUT FROM THE FILLER NECK OF THE GAS TANK LIKE A BURST FROM A FOUNTAIN, SPLASHING OUT ON THE GROUND, ON THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE, AND GENERALLY ON ME, THE OPERATOR OF THE GAS PUMP. IT STARTED ABOUT A YEAR AGO, AND IT NOW EXHIBITS THIS BEHAVIOR CONSISTENTLY EVERY TIME I FILL UP. THIS IS A PROBLEM NOT ONLY DUE TO THE CUMULATIVE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT OF SPILLING OUT RAW GASOLINE AND OF RUINING CLOTHING AND RESULTING IN CARRYING WITH ME THE STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE ALL DAY AT WORK AND AT HOME, BUT IT IS ALSO A CLEAR AND APPALLING SAFETY HAZARD WITH RAW GASOLINE SPLASHED AROUND. THE JEEP DEALERSHIP HAS RECOMMENDED A VERY COSTLY REPLACEMENT OF THE ENTIRE GAS TANK ASSEMBLY AT MY OWN EXPENSE AND HAS SAID THAT THIS WILL ONLY TEMPORARILY RELIEVE THE SYMPTOMS, THAT THE DESIGN HAS NOT CHANGED AND THUS THE PROBLEM WILL CONTINUE TO RESURFACE. *TR
GAS TANK OVER FLOW EVERY TIME I FILL MY WRANGLER UNLIMITED WITH GAS. JEEP SAYS ONLY 07 AND 08 ARE RECALLED NOT 06.THEY DON'T THINK A QUART OF GAS ALL OVER THE JEEP AND THE GROUND, HELLO, IS A PROBLEM, WOW UNREAL. MAYBE E.P.A SHOULD CARE. APPARENTLY ALL 05 AN 06 WRANGLERS WERE NOT RECALLED OUTRAGEOUS!!! JEEP AND THE E.P.A SHOULD CARE A LOT MORE ABOUT OUR ENVIRONMENT!! ITS DISGUSTING AND SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE ABOUT IT. PS I BOUGHT MY JEEP USED PREVIOUS OWNER NEVER TOLD ME ABOUT THE PROBLEM BUT FROM WHAT I READ ALL DO THE SAME. *TR
JUST PURCHASED A 2006 JEEP WRANGLER SPORT. ALL STOCK. WHEN FUELING THE VEHICLE, ONCE THE FUEL IS ALMOST FULL OR TO THE POINT OF FULL, THE FUEL SHOOTS OUT OF THE FUEL INLET. ALSO, IT DOES NOT TRIP THE FUEL SHUT OFF ON THE DISPENSER QUICK ENOUGH. *TR

AT ABOUT THE SAME TIME THE TANK REACHES FULL AND SHUTS OFF THE GAS FLOW AT THE NOZZLE A LARGE VOLUME OF GASOLINE RUSHES OUT OF THE FILLER NECK OF THE VEHICLE AND ONTO THE PAVEMENT. POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND QUITE PREVALENT IN THIS MODEL VEHICLE. *TR
FUEL SYSTEM SPEWS FUEL ALL OVER VEHICLE AND OPERATOR WHEN FILLING. WILL NOT SHUT OFF ON ITS OWN. *TR
MULTIPLE INSTANCES OF GAS TANK IN MY 2006 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED OVERFLOWING, DUE TO POSSIBLE CHECK VALVE MALFUNCTION AND/OR IMPROPER DESIGN FROM FACTORY. *TR WHEN FILLING ONES GAS TANK, YOU WOULD EXPECT THE PUMP TO STOP ONCE THE TANK HAS REACHED ITS CAPACITY. HOWEVER DUE TO A FAULTY IN-TANK CHECK VALVE, THE PUMP NEVER GETS THE PRESSURE CHANGE AS A SIGNAL TO STOP THE FLOW. HENCE, EVERY TIME I FILL UP I END UP SPILLING A NOT-INSIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF FUEL ON THE GROUND. THIS ISSUE IS ABSOLUTELY NOT OPERATOR ERROR, IT IS A KNOWN DEFECT BY JEEP/CHRYSLER.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED FUEL WOULD SPEW OUT FROM THE FILLER NECK WHENEVER ATTEMPTING TO REFUEL THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WAS TOLD THAT THE OCCURRENCE WAS NORMAL WHEN REFUELING OVER THE RECOMMENDED CAPACITY. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH OR ABOVE, THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD BECOME DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE TIE RODS BUT THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 24,000. *TR
WHEN FUELING UP, MANY TIMES THE FUEL PUMP WILL SHUT OFF AND THE FUEL WILL SPILL OUT OF THE FILLER NECK. I'VE TRIED SLOWING DOWN THE FLOW OF FUEL JUST PRIOR TO A FULL TANK WITH NO CHANGE. IT HAPPENS A LOT, BUT NOT EVERY TIME. I'VE TRIED ANGLING MY VEHICLE WITH THE FILLER NECK DOWN HILL AND UP BUT IT RANDOMLY SPILLS FUEL. I'VE TRIED WAITING ONCE COMING TO A STOP PRIOR TO TURNING OFF THE ENGINE WITH NO RHYME OR REASON TO WHEN IT WILL SPILL FUEL. *TR

DURING RE-FUELING MY 2006 JEEP WRANGLER, FUEL WILL COME BACK OUT OF THE INLET WHEN THE FUEL LEVEL REACHES THE TOP. IT SPILLS NO MATTER HOW SLOW OR FAST I FUEL THE VEHICLE. I HAVE BEEN READING ON INTERNET COMMUNITY SITES THAT THIS IS A LARGE SCALE PROBLEM AND THAT I SHOULD LOG A COMPLAINT. *TR

WHEN I ATTEMPT TO FILL MY GAS TANK, THE GAS COMES BACK OUT OF THE TANK. I HAVE TRIED THIS BY GOING SLOW & WHEN THE GAS SHUTS OFF, I SHAKE THE JEEP TO GET THE AIR OUT OF THE TANK - WHEN I DO THIS THE AIR POCKET PUSHES GAS BACK OUT OF THE TANK EVEN WHEN I DON'T HAVE THE FUEL NOZZLE STILL IN THE TANK. THIS ISN'T THE FIRST TIME THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED - I PURCHASED THE JEEP IN ST. AUGUSTINE, FL IN JAN., 2011 & I HAD TO GET GAS RIGHT AFTER PURCHASING IT. THE FIRST TIME I HAD THE AUTO SHUT-OFF ON THE GAS FILLER - IT CLICKED OFF & GAS STARTED FLOWING BACK OUT OF THE TANK. AT FIRST I THOUGHT THAT THE GAS FILLER NOZZLE WAS DEFECTIVE, & NOTIFIED THE CONVENIENCE STORE ABOUT THE OVERFLOW - I ASKED FOR SOME "DRY AGENT" TO CAPTURE THE GAS THAT HAD SPILLED OVER. THE ATTENDANT SHUT THE PUMP STATION DOWN, & SAID THEY WOULD CALL SOMEONE TO CHECK OUT THE FILLER NOZZLE. THE NEXT TIME THAT I NEEDED GAS (BACK IN ORLANDO, FL) THE JEEP WAS BACK NEAR EMPTY (FUEL LIGHT "ON"). I USED THE AUTO CLICK-OFF ON THE FILLER - SAME[XXX], DIFFERENT DAY! I HEARD THE "CLICK" OF THE AUTO-SHUT OFF & WITHIN A SECOND, GAS WAS POURING BACK OUT OF THE FUEL NECK OF THE JEEP. PEOPLE WHO WERE PUMPING THEIR OWN GAS HEARD THE FUEL COME OUT OF THE TANK (AND HEARD ME CURSE, LOL!) THEY COULDN'T BELIEVE WHAT THEY SAW. I'M NOT SURE HOW MUCH FUEL POURED BACK OUT OF THE FUEL NECK OF THE JEEP (AND THE TANK FOR THAT MATTER), BUT THERE WAS A POOL OF FUEL ON THE GROUND. I NOTIFIED THE FUEL ATTENDANT OF THE SITUATION & THEY DIDN'T HAVE ANY DRY-SORB CHEMICAL TO ABSORB THE FUEL. I USED PAPER TOWELS TO CLEAN IT UP. NOW I HAVE TO RESORT TO FILL THE JEEP WITH NO MORE THAN 12 GALLONS (NO MORE SHAKING OR THE FUEL MAY COME BACK OUT). I'VE BEEN TOLD THAT THE INTERNAL VALVE IS DEFECTIVE OR THAT THE USE OF ETHANOL IN THE JEEP HAS DESTROYED THE INTERNAL VALVE. I DON'T GIVE A [XXX] WHAT HAS CAUSED IT - THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION THAT NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED. THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF JEEPS THAT HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM - DO YOUR JOB NHTSA.GOV!!! EVERY TIME I FILL THE GAS TANK, GAS OVERFLOWS OUT OF THE TANK AND ONTO THE BODY OF THE JEEP AND THE GROUND. I HAVE TRIED TO FILL THE LAST COUPLE OF GALLONS SLOW BUT IT STILL OVERFLOWS. *TR
FAULTY FUEL TANK CAUSES FUEL SPILL EVERY TIME TANK IS FILLED. I BOUGHT THIS JEEP A YEAR AGO AND EVERY SINGLE TIME I'VE FILLED THE TANK IT SPITS BACK FUEL WHEN THE TANK IS FILLED. I WOULD GUESS 4-5 OUNCES OF FUEL GET SPILLED ON THE GROUND EVERY TIME THE TANK IS FILLED. DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AND SAYS THE TANK IS FAULTY AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. *TR
WHEN FUELING UP WITH GAS, THE NOZZLE WILL SHUT OFF WHEN TANK IS FULL AND GAS WILL THEN OVERFLOW OUT OF THE TANK FILL SPOUT. THIS HAPPENS AT EVERY FUELING AT EVERY GAS STATION NOW. THIS IS A SUDDEN AND NEW OCCURRENCE AS THE VEHICLE HAS NEVER DONE THIS PRIOR TO THIS YEAR. ( I HAVE OWNED SINCE NEW 2006) AS IMAGINED GAS WILL FLOW OUT ONTO THE VEHICLE, GROUND, PERSON FILLING GAS, ETC. *TR
WHEN FILLING THE FUEL TANK, WHETHER THE HOSE NOZZLE IS OPERATED MANUALLY OR AUTOMATICALLY, GAS SPURTS FROM THE TANK SPRAYING OUT 18"-24". THIS HAPPENS CONSISTENTLY REGARDLESS OF PUMPING SPEED/PRESSURE, AMBIENT TEMPERATURE/WEATHER CONDITIONS OR BRAND OF GASOLINE. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT SAFETY ISSUES REGARDING FIRE AND FUMES AS WELL AS DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE'S PAINT AND PLASTIC FENDERS. I HAVE HAD CLOTHING RUINED BY THE SPURTING GASOLINE. *TR

2006 JEEP WRANGLER AND THE DEATH WOBBLE. JEEP HAS KNOW ABOUT THIS CONDITION FOR SOME TIME NOW AND SINCE MY WARRANTY IS UP AND THEY COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM BEFORE IT WAS UP, I AM NOW STUCK WITH IT OR PAY ALOT OF MONEY FOR A ISSUE THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ADDRESSED YEARS AGO BY JEEP. EVERY TIME I HIT A SMALL BUMP IN THE ROAD AT 60MPH THE JEEP GOES OUT OF CONTROL AND SHAKES THE VEHICLE UNTIL YOU CAN COME TO A COMPLETE STOP IN THE ROAD AND THEN ITS FINE. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS GOOGLE JEEP AND DEATH WOBBLE AND YOU WILL SEE HOW MANY COMPLAINTS ARE OUT THERE. *TR
ALL OF THE SUDDEN MY JEEP STARTED TAKING FOR EVER TO FILL AND SHOOTS GAS OUT ALL OVER ME AND THE GROUND... I HAVE TO STAND A THERE AND BARELY LET THE GAS TRICKLE INTO THE TANK AND I CANNOT EVEN SET IT ON THE LOWEST LEVER FOR HANDLE IT TAKES ME ABOUT 20 MIN TO PUT 40.00 DOLLARS WORTH OF GAS IN IT,,,, THE DEALER SAID THERE IS NO RECALL FOR THIS AND WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE EMISSIONS WARRANTY... THEY ALSO TOLD ME TO CHECK FUEL FILLER PIPE FOR OBSTRUCTIONS AND TO PULL OUR MY VAPOR CANISTER AND CLEAN IT.... I DID BOTH AND IT DIDN'T FIX A THING..IM ALSO UNDERSTANDING THAT THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE HAVING THIS PROBLEM..... I WORKED FOR CHRYSLER DEALERSHIPS FOR YEARS AND REALLY DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THEY WONT TAKE ANY ACTIONS.... I BOUGHT THIS JEEP BRAND NEW FROM WHERE I WAS WORKING AT... IT WAS MY DREAM VEHICLE... FUEL SPILLS OUT EACH TIME I FILL MY TANK. FUEL PUMP KICKS OFF AS DESIGNED, BUT IS FOLLOWED BY 2-3 CUPS OF GAS SPILLING OUT WITH FORCE THAT COVERS THE PUMP HANDLE, SIDE OF VEHICLE, GROUND UNDER VEHICLE, AND ANYONE STANDING TOO CLOSE. *TR
WHEN REFILLING MY JEEP WITH GAS IT OCCASIONALLY OVERFLOWS. I DIDN'T KNOW IF IT WAS A PUMP OR JEEP ISSUE UNTIL I STARTED HEARING MORE PEOPLE HAVING THE ISSUE AND REALIZED IT WAS A JEEP ISSUE AND NOT A PUMP ISSUE. I UNDERSTAND THAT THE 2007-2008S HAVE A TSB AND DJC WILL FIX FOR FREE, BUT MY JEEP IS A 2006 AND HAS THIS PROBLEM AND I AM NOT COVERED. I WOULD LIKE THE TSB TO INCLUDE ALL JEEPS.
FUEL SPEWS FROM FUEL TANK DURING FILL UP. FUEL NOZZLE WOULD SHUT OFF NORMALLY UNTIL RECENTLY IT HAS NOW BECOME A PROBLEM. THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN AND THIS PROBLEM IS POTENTIALLY VERY DANGEROUS TO NOT ONLY MYSELF BUT TO OTHERS SHARING ADJACENT PUMPS NOT TO MENTION THE ENVIRONMENT. *TR
WHEN FILLING UP GAS TANK, FUEL SPILLS FROM THE FILLING PORT ALL OVER ONCE IT IS FULL. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME I FILL UP AND HAS DONE SINCE I PURCHASED THE CAR IN FEBRUARY 2011. *TR
JEEP SUDDENLY LOST ALL POWER AT FREEWAY SPEED. ALMOST GOT CREAMED BY SEMI. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. PULLED OVER ON SHOULDER, RESTARTED ENGINE AND LIMPED HOME UNDER 2500 RPM. ANY HIGHER RPM RESULTED IN COMPLETE POWER LOSS. RAN OBD GOT "INTERMITTENT CAM SENSOR". TRIED TO CHANGE SENSOR BUT ASSEMBLY WAS FULL OF METAL SHAVINGS. DID RESEARCH FOUND OUT THAT THE OIL PUMP DRIVE ASSEMBLY IS FAULTY. PART ON BACK ORDER, NO ONE HAS IT. COMMON PROBLEM WITH 05 MODELS DUE TO FAULTY DESIGN. VERY DANGEROUS AND CAN DESTROY ENGINE.

2006 RUBICON WITH 40K MILES. FUEL SPRAYS OUT FROM THE GASOLINE FILL TUBE AND RUNS DOWN THE OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE ONTO THE PAVEMENT EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE IS REFUELED. THE DEALERSHIP SAYS THE FUEL TANK MUST BE REPLACED TO CORRECT THE ISSUE. IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE TO PAY FOR A NEW FUEL TANK WITH THE SAME DEFECT. THIS IS APPARENTLY A WIDESPREAD ISSUE AND SHOULD BE RECALLED. *TR
WHILE FUELING VEHICLE AT GAS STATION, FUEL SPLASHES OUT BEFORE FUEL PUMP SHUTS OFF AT FILL UP. REGARDLESS OF GAS STATION OR SPEED AT WHICH PUMP IS SET AT FUEL ALWAYS SPILLS UNTO VEHICLE AND GROUND. IT IS APPARENT THAT THE FUEL TANK'S ROLL OVER CHECK VALVE IS AT FAULT.
FUEL SPILLS OUT DURING REGULAR PUMPING AT GAS STATION. THIS HAPPENS DURING THE END OF THE PUMPING WHEN THE TANK IS ALMOST FULL. GASOLINE WILL SHOOT OUT OF THE FILLER SPOUT AND ONTO THE GROUND. *TR
