I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING THE "DEATH WOBBLE" ON MY 2007 JEEP WRANGLER SAHARA FOR THE PAST YEAR NOW. WHEN IT FIRST STARTED I REPLACED THE TIRES AND IT APPEARED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM FOR 8-9 MONTHS. THEN THE PROBLEM RE-APPEARED SO I HAD THE TIRES ROTATED. CORRECTED THE PROBLEM FOR APPROXIMATELY 5000 MILES. JUST THIS MORNING WHILE DRIVING INTO WORK MY JEEP STARTED TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY STARTING AT 50 MPH. IN THE PAST, MY JEEP WILL EXPERIENCE THE DEATH WOBBLE BETWEEN 50-60 MPH. I NEED TO SLOW DOWN TO AROUND 20 MPH FOR THE WOBBLE TO STOP. THIS IS NOT SAFE! ESPECIALLY DRIVING IN RUSH HOUR AND I NEED TO CONSTANTLY SLOW DOWN TO SPEEDS BELOW THE MINIMUM SPEED LIMIT REQUIREMENT IN MY STATE. ALL PARTS ON MY JEEP ARE STOCK / STRAIGHT FROM THE ASSEMBLY LINE (EXCEPT FOR THE NEW TIRES, AIR FILTER, OIL, AND WIPER BLADES). I CAN BE THE ONLY DRIVER TO THIS VEHICLE AS OTHER DRIVERS IN MY FAMILY REFUSE TO DRIVE BECAUSE OF THE DEATH WOBBLE. I HAVEN'T BROUGHT IT INTO A JEEP DEALER YET (ALTHOUGH AFTER READING THREADS ON THE INTERNET IT APPEARS JEEP DENIES IT TO BE AN ISSUE). THIS IS NOT SAFE AND THIS IS MY PRIMARY VEHICLE. IT IS HAPPENING TO MANY JEEP OWNERS AND IF JEEP WANTS TO KEEP ITS BUSINESS THEY SHOULD START ADDRESSING THE ISSUE... *TR
EXPERIENCED DEATH WOBBLE WHILE MY WIFE WAS DRIVING AND HAD TO HELP HER STEER IT OFF THE ROAD, SCARED THE [XXX] OUT OF US. JUST WANTED PEOPLE TO BE AWARE OF THIS. CANNOT BELIEVE NOBODY HAS BEEN HURT BY THIS DEFECT OR WHATEVER IT IS. HAD I KNOWN ABOUT THIS SURE AS[XXX] WOULD NOT HAVE PICKED THIS MODEL. I PURCHASED A 2007 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED SAHARA. THE DEALERSHIP SUPPOSEDLY DID AN OIL CHANGE AND AFTER 3 MONTHS AND ABOUT 1,800 MILES OF DRIVING MY OIL LIGHT CAME ON. I CHECKED THE OIL AND IT WAS LOW. I TOOK IT TO A LOCAL SHOP(VALVOLINE QUICK LUBE) TO GET AN OIL CHANGE AND THEY MENTIONED THE OIL PLUG WAS STRIPPED AND THAT THERE WAS SILICONE CAULK TO HELP SEAL THE OIL PLUG. AT THIS POINT I HAD THEM REPLACE THE OIL PLUG AND WAS CONTENT WITH THE SERVICE. AFTER DRIVING 500-600 MILES AFTER THE OIL CHANGE I CHECKED THE OIL AND IT WAS LOW AS IF IT WAS DISAPPEARING. NO VISIBLE LEAKS IN MY GARAGE AND NONE IN MY PARKING SPOT AT WORK. AT THIS POINT I HAD TO ADD 2 QUARTS OF OIL TO GET TO READ ON THE DIP STICK. THIS WENT ON UNTIL MY NEXT OIL CHANGE AND I HAD VALVOLINE LOOK FOR ANY VISUAL LEAKS. THEY MENTIONED NOTHING THAT WOULD EXPLAIN THE MASSIVE AMOUNT OF OIL BEING CONSUMED. FINALLY, IN MARCH OF 2013, TOOK MY JEEP TO A CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THEM START AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST. AFTER THE FIRST 500 MILES THEY STATED THERE WAS LOSS OF OIL AND MADE THERE MARKS AND RESEALED EVERYTHING FOR THE NEXT 500 MILES. I TOOK IT BACK IN AT THE NEXT 500 MILE MARK, NOW MIND YOU EVERYTHING IS SEALED SO THEY KNOW NOTHING WAS TAMPERED WITH, PERFORMANCE CHRYSLER CALLED ME AND TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS SIGNIFICANT OIL LOSS AND THEY STATED THE RINGS ON THE PISTONS ARE BAD AND NEED TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $3,300. MY COMPLAINT IS, MY JEEP AT THIS POINT HAS 47000 MILES ON IT AND THEY ARE TELLING ME THE RINGS ARE BAD. I'VE HAD VEHICLES THAT LASTED 120,000+ AND NO PROBLEMS WITH THE RINGS ON THE PISTONS. I HAVE TALKED TO A COUPLE OF MECHANICS AND SAID THERE SHOULD BE NO WAY THE RINGS SHOULD HAVE GONE BAD THAT FAST. *TR
HIT A SLIGHT BUMP AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND THE JEEP SUDDENLY STARTED SHACKING VIOLENTLY. THIS IS ALSO COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE "DEATH WOBBLE". I HAD NO CONTROL OVER MY VEHICLE AND HAD TO SWERVE OVER AND STOP, CAUSING TRAFFIC BEHIND ME TO HAVE TO REACT SUDDENLY.
AT HIGHWAY SPEED MY STEERING WHEEL AND FRONT END BEGAN TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY. THIS OCCURRED WHEN HITTING A SMALL JOINT IN THE PAVEMENT. THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THE SHAKING WAS TO SLOW DOWN FROM 60 TO APPROXIMATELY 30 MILES PER HOUR ON THE INTERSTATE. *TR
VIOLENT SHAKING FROM FRONT WHEELS AFTER HITTING SMALL BUMPS IN ROAD. STEERING SHOOK SIDE TO SIDE. HAD TO BRING JEEP TO COMPLETE STOP FOR SHAKING TO STOP. VERY DANGEROUS. JEEP DID THIS NEARLY EVERY DAY. *TR
ABOUT ONE SECOND AFTER THE PUMP SHUTS OFF AUTOMATICALLY 6 TO 8OZ OF FUEL IS EXPELLED OUT OF THE VEHICLE RUNNING OUT ALL OVER THE CAR AND GROUND. WAS FOUND TO BE FAULTY INLET CHECK VALVE ON WRANGLERS MANUFACTURED BETWEEN 03/01/07 AND 03/31/08. MY VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED ON 11/08/06 BUT I AM EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM. JEEP REFUSES TO RECTIFY THE PROBLEM AS MY MANUFACTURE DATE IS OUT OF THE SPECIFIED DATE RANGE. I BELIEVE IT SHOULD BE EXPANDED AS I HAVE READ ABOUT MANY OTHER JEEPS HAVING THIS SAME PROBLEM. THIS PROBLEM IS A DANGEROUS SAFETY CONCERN THAT SHOULD BE REPAIRED AT THE COST OF THE MANUFACTURER BECAUSE OF A DEFECTIVE PART. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE WOULD VIOLENTLY SHAKE WHENEVER DRIVEN OVER BUMPS. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE BROUGHT IN FOR A DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
STEERING COLUMN SHAKES VIOLENTLY AFTER HITTING SMALL BUMPS, USUALLY IN A TURN. VERY CLOSE TO CAUSING ACCIDENTS DUE TO THE NEED TO BRAKE QUICKLY TO SLOW DOWN AND ELIMINATE THE SHAKING. ITS VERY DISAPPOINTING THIS IS NOT PUBLISHED NOR ANYONE ACTED ON THIS. INCIDENT HAS NOW HAPPENED APPROX 20 TIMES AND VEHICLE HAS NO AFTER MARKET PARTS. *TR
WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD ABOUT 45 MPH, HIT A BUMP AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHAKE SO VIOLENTLY THAT I WAS CONVINCED A WHEEL WAS ABOUT TO FALL OFF. I IMMEDIATELY STOPPED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE BUT COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG. IN RESEARCHING THE PROBLEM ONLINE I FOUND OUT THAT IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE KNOWN AS A "DEATH WOBBLE." I WAS LUCKY IN THAT I WAS DRIVING ON A RARELY TRAVELED BACK ROAD WHEN THE INCIDENT OCCURRED, HAD THIS HAPPENED ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY I COULD SEE THIS AS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. HAS DONE THIS ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. MADE A CLICK AND STARTED TO START BUT THEN NOTHING. BATTERY IS BRAND NEW. FURTHER RESEARCHING ONLINE THERE IS NUMEROUS AUTOMATIC JEEP JK'S WITH THIS ISSUE. APPARENTLY AN IMPROPER GROUND IS THE CULPRIT- SEEMS THERE IS ENOUGH PEOPLE HAVING THIS PROBLEM TO WARRANT A RECALL?? THE FUEL TANK OVERFLOWS EVERY TIME IT IS FILLED. THE SYSTEM DOES NOT "CLICK" OR AUTOMATICALLY SHUT OFF GAS FLOW TO INDICATE WHEN TANK IS FULL, IT SIMPLY OVERFLOWS. I HAVE TESTED MANY DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS AND THIS ISSUE OCCURS EVERYTIME, CAUSING A DANGEROUS SITUATION FOR ME AND THOSE AROUND ME, AS WELL AS ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH OR HIGHER AND WHEN GOING OVER A BUMP, THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE WOULD SHAKE VIOLENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT REPLACING THE AXLE HOUSING AND THE FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS MAY REMEDY THE SHAKING. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 35,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 45,000... THE JEEP DEATH WOBBLE HAS BEEN HAPPENING TO MY VEHICLE SINCE OCTOBER 2011. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN OCTOBER 2010. IT HAPPENED ONCE IN 2011, I TOOK IT INTO THE SHOP TO SEE WHAT WAS WRONG AND THEY SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH IT. IN THE PAST TWO MONTHS IT HAS STARTED UP AGAIN. I LIVE IN A REMOTE AREA IN ALASKA WHERE THE NEAREST CITY IS 100 MILES, ONLY REACHED BY HIGHWAY. EACH TRIP I WOULD HIT A BUMP AND ALMOST HIT THE GUARD RAIL AT 65 MPH. I STOPPED DRIVING IT UNTIL TWO WEEKS AGO ON MY WAY BACK HOME FROM WORK (10 MILES FROM HOME) IT HAPPENED 3 TIMES IN THE SPEED OF 35-55. IT WAS COMPLETELY VIOLENT SHAKING WHERE EACH TIME I WAS NOT ABLE TO CONTROL IT. IT ONLY GOT WORSE WITH BRAKING. THE ENTIRE VEHICLE WAS UNCONTROLLABLE. I AM UNABLE TO TAKE IT TO MECHANICS SHOP BECAUSE IT IS 100 MILES AWAY AND I AM NOT PUTTING MY FAMILY OR I AT RISK OF AN ACCIDENT ON AN ALASKA HIGHWAY. *JS
UPON DRIVING MY 2007 JEEP SAHARA I HIT A BUMP IN ROAD, THE ENTIRE FRONT END STARTED SHAKING, THE TIRES BOUNCING FROM CENTER LINE TO SIDE LINE. I APPLIED BRAKES AND HAD TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP BEFORE IT QUIT. I WENT TO JEEP DEALER THEY ADVISED "THE BRAKE ROTORS NEED TURNED" I LAUGHED AND DID AS THEY ASKED AND GOT NEW BRAKES AND NEW SHOCK STABILIZER. IT IS NOW DECEMBER 2012 AND IT HAS OCCURRED AGAIN 3 TIMES AFTER HITTING A BUMP IN THE ROAD. I WOULD LIKE FOR SOMETHING TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS AND SOLUTION DISCOVERED BECAUSE IT SEEMS THAT CHRYSLER DOES NOT BELIEVE THERE IS A PROBLEM AND THE SERVICE CENTERS ARE TELLING PEOPLE THAT "ITS THE BRAKES" THIS IS LAUGHABLE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD AND ENTERING INTO THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO SEE AND CRASHED INTO A CULVERT. THE POLICE REPORTED TO THE SCENE AND A REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED BRUISES TO THE ARMS AND LEGS. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THAT AN INVESTIGATOR WOULD COME TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
AS I WAS DRIVING THROUGH THE ENTRANCE TO THE BALTIMORE HARBOR TUNNEL, I HIT A BUMP AND THE STEERING WHEEL BEGAN TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY ON MY JEEP WRANGLER. IN ADDITION, THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE VIBRATED AND SHOOK VIOLENTLY. I HAD NO PLACE TO STOP, A BUS WAS BEHIND ME, AND I HAD TROUBLE KEEPING MY JEEP IN ONE LANE. SINCE THERE WAS NO PLACE TO PULL OVER, I SLOWED DOWN AND WHEN I REACHED A SPEED BETWEEN 15 TO 20 MILES PER HOUR, THE SHAKING STOPPED AND I WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE ON. DURING MY TRIP THAT DAY, I HAD THREE MORE EPISODES OF VIOLENT SHAKING AS I HIT BUMPS IN THE ROAD WHEN I WAS TRAVELING BETWEEN 50 AND 60 MILES PER HOUR. I HAD RECENTLY READ AN ARTICLE ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND THIS ISSUE APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM FOR JEEP WRANGLERS, ALTHOUGH I HAD NEVER EXPERIENCED THE PROBLEM BEFORE. MY JEEP IS A 2007 4-DOOR WRANGLER WHICH ONLY HAS 10,400 MILES ON IT BECAUSE I USUALLY KEEP IT GARAGED AT A BEACH HOME IN DELAWARE AND I USE IT ONLY DURING SUMMER WEEKENDS. THE JEEP IS A STOCK MODEL WITH NO AFTER MARKET MODIFICATIONS. I HAD DRIVEN IT HOME TO MARYLAND TO HAVE A DEALER CHECKUP BEFORE I RETURNED THE JEEP TO THE BEACH. THE PROBLEM HAPPENED ON MY THIRD TRIP AFTER THE DEALER SERVICE BUT IT WAS MY FIRST TRIP DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY. MY DAUGHTER WAS IN THE CAR WITH ME AND SHE AND I WERE EXTREMELY DISTURBED AND CONSIDER THIS ISSUE A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. SINCE MY RESEARCH INDICATES THIS IS A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM, I FEEL STRONGLY THE NTSB SHOULD TAKE THE APPROPRIATE ACTION TO HAVE CHRYSLER ADDRESS THIS ISSUE BEFORE THERE IS A FATALITY. I AM EXTREMELY THANKFUL THAT THE BUS BEHIND ME IN THE BALTIMORE HARBOR TUNNEL HAD GOOD BRAKES. *TR
I HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE FOR OVER FOUR YEARS. RECENTLY, I NEEDED TO REMOVE THE SPARE TIRE FOR THE FIRST TIME AND NOTICED A SEVERE CRACK IN THE HOUSING SUPPORT BRACKET THAT CONNECTED THE SPARE TO THE REAR GATE OF THE VEHICLE. THIS BRACKET HAS THREE LUG NUTS DESIGNED TO SUPPORT THE SPARE AND, BECAUSE OF THE CRACK, ONE OF THE LUGS WAS NOT PROVIDING ANY SUPPORT FOR THE APPROXIMATELY 150-POUND TIRE AND WHEEL. A CRACK AROUND ONE OF THE OTHER TWO LUGS WOULD LIKELY CAUSE A COMPLETE FAILURE OF THE HOUSING SUPPORT, AS I DOUBT ONE LUG COULD HOLD THE HEAVY SPARE AND WHEEL. I BELIEVE THIS PART SHOULD BE RECALLED IMMEDIATELY. *TR
MY AIRBAG SENSOR LIGHT STAYS ON. *JB
THE JEEP STARTED WOBBLING LIKE IT WAS GOING TO EXPLODE. HAD TO PULL OVER BEFORE I CAUSED A ACCIDENT. TOOK IT TO A JEEP DEALERSHIP, STILL TAKING IT TO THE JEEP DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS FOR WOBBLING. *TR
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT ABOUT 40-45MPH MY RIGHT FRONT TIRE HIT A BUMP. WHEN THAT HAPPENED THE ENTIRE FRONT END BEGAN TO VIBRATE VIOLENTLY. THE ONLY THING THAT CURED THE ISSUE WAS TO BRAKE THE VEHICLE. ONCE IT GOT DOWN TO ABOUT 15MPH IT FINALLY STOPPED AND I WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH THIS JEEP. THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE AND THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED TIE RODS AND A STEERING DAMPENER BUT IT'S NEVER GONE AWAY COMPLETELY. *TR

THE FAILURE OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY AT DIFFERENT SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000. *TR
THE FUEL TANK OVERFLOWS EVERY TIME THE TANK IS FILLED NO MATTER WHAT STATION OR PUMP IS USED. *TR
ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS MY 2007 JEEP WRANGLER JK HAS "POPPED" OUT OF GEAR. USUALLY DOES THIS IN 1ST GEAR, THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN AS WHEN IT HAPPENS I AM STRANDED A FEW FEET FROM WHERE I STARTED OFF. I AM ONLY WAITING FOR THE TIME THAT IT HAPPENS IN FRONT OF ANOTHER VEHICLE IN AN INTERSECTION. IT IS SCARY, OTHER THAN SAFETY IT IS ALSO A MAJOR INCONVENIENCE AND MAKES ME FEEL THAT I AM GOING TO DAMAGE MY TRANSMISSION AND MY CLUTCH. TALKING TO OTHER OWNERS OF THIS SAME STYLE OF JEEP, THIS IS A PROBLEM FROM 2007 TO 2010 AND I FEEL THAT IT SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY THE FACTORY. *TR
ON A ROCKY ROAD AT RAUCH CREEK OFFROAD PARK IN TREMONT, PA. I WAS STOPPED WAITING FOR MY FRIEND TO GIVE ME DIRECTIONS. HE NOTICED WHAT HE FIRST THOUGHT WAS STEAM COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. IN FACT IT WAS SMOKE. WITHIN ONE MINUTE FLAMES WERE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. WITHIN TWO MINUTES THE ENTIRE VEHICLE WAS ENGULFED. I INJURED MYSELF IN MY HASTE TO GET OUT OF THE BURNING VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS A TOTAL LOSS. I HAVE PHOTO'S AND VIDEOS AVAILABLE OF THE INCIDENT. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD SUDDENLY STALLED WARNING. THE FAILURE HAD NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED AND THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 53,000.
THIS WAS ONE OF THE WORST TIMES SINCE I BOUGHT MY JEEP USED IN OCT OF 2011 THAT IT DID THIS HORRIBLE SHAKING BETWEEN 55-60 MPH. IT HAS DONE IT SEVERAL TIMES SINCE THEN AND RECENTLY WAS WORSE THAN EVER!! IT STARTED AT 40 MPH AND CONTINUED EVEN OVER 60 MPH IT WAS SO BAD I NEEDED TO PULL OVER, AS I COULDN'T CONTROL IT. I HAVE SINCE READ ONLINE THAT THIS IS AN ISSUE MANY JEEP OWNERS FACE-ESPECIALLY 2007. I AM GOING TO CONTACT JEEP AS I WANT IT FIXED, I COULD HAVE CRASHED IF I WEREN'T IN THE FAR RIGHT LANE ON THE HIGHWAY AT THE TIME OF INCIDENT!!! IT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED AND RECALLED TO BE REPAIRED. I'M HOPING JEEP AND MY LOCAL DEALER CAN FIX IT AND IT NEVER HAPPENS AGAIN! *TR

THE CONTACT JERKED AT THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE FAILURE CEASED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSIS. THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY HAD TO RESET THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 07V291000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
I HAVE LOVED THIS JEEP SINCE THE DAY I GOT IT, AT ABOUT A FEW YEARS AFTER OWNING IT I HAD EXPERIENCED SOMETHING I JUST COULDN'T BELIEVE!!! I WAS GOING DOWN THE ROAD AT 45 MILES AN HOUR WHEN I MUST HAVE HIT A BUMP IN THE ROAD, MY JEEP CONTINUED TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY AND I COULD NOT STOP IT UNLESS I PULLED OFF THE ROAD AND TRIED TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. I THEN WENT DIRECTLY TO MY MECHANIC WHO THEN INSPECTED THE VEHICLE, HE FOUND NOTHING WRONG AND SAID HE DID NOT EXPERIENCE IT HIMSELF. I HAVE REPLACED ALL THE SHOCKS,NEW TIRES, BRAKES, STEERING PIN AND STILL HAVE THAT PROBLEM, I DID NOT KNOW WHAT IT WAS UNTIL I STARTED LOOKING IT UP ON THE INTERNET, THERE IS EVEN A VIDEO OF SOMEONE DRIVING A JEEP EXACTLY LIKE MINE AND IT IS DOING THE SAME THING. I HAVE SEEN HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ON THIS, IF SOMETHING IS NOT DONE SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET KILLED WHEN THEY ARE IN ICE OR RAIN!!!! WHY HASN'T ANYONE STEPPED UP TO HAVE THIS FIXED? I HAVE CALLED JEEP ON IT AND THEY SAID THEY HAVE HAD COMPLAINTS BUT NO ONE IS DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT! REALLY?? THE VEHICLE CANNOT BE ALLOWED TO FILL UP ON STANDARD AUTO SHUTOFF PUMPS. THE FUEL WILL RUSH OUT IN A SUDDEN BACKSPLASH. THE SITUATION CREATES THE HIGHEST RISK FOR FIRE AND CONFLAGRATION. THE 08 AND LATER WRANGLERS HAVE A RECALL, BUT THE 07 DOES NOT. THE 07 IS THE SAME BODY STYLE AS THE 08 AND LATER. NHTSA HAS CLAIMED THAT MEDIA SENSATIONALISM HAS HYPED PUBLIC OPINION ON THE MATTER. UNFORTUNATELY, I HAVE TO DEAL WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF DEATH AND FIRE EVERY TIME I FILL UP AT THE PUMP BECAUSE NHTSA REFUSES TO FORCE THE MANUFACTURER TO FIX THE ISSUE. THE 2007 JEEP WRANGLER STALLED, LOST POWER BRAKES, LOST POWER STEERING. TRIED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND WOULD NOT TURN OVER. WE NOTICED FLAMES SHOOTING UP OUTSIDE THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. ALL 4 OF US CLIMBED OUT THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR. I TRIED TO OPEN THE HOOD AND FLAMES CAME BURSTING OUT. WITHIN 2 MINUTES THE WHOLE VEHICLE ENGULFED IN FLAMES. THE FLAMES WERE COMING FROM UNDERNEATH THE ENGINE. IT TOOK THE FIRE DEPARTMENT NEARLY 2 HOURS TO EXTINGUISH THE FLAMES. THE VEHICLE WAS A TOTAL LOSS. *TR

THIS JEEP IS A DEATH TRAP AND A MONEY TRAP. MY FIRST INCIDENT OCCURRED FEB 16TH, 2011 AND COST 600.00. NEEDED A NEW STEERING DAMPNER WHICH THEY REPLACED. TWO MONTHS LATER SAME THING HAPPENS AND THEY REPLACE THE SAME PIECE WITH THE NEWER STEERING DAMPNER. TWO DAYS AGO THE SAME THING HAPPENS AGAIN AND NOW I NEED TO SPEND MORE MONEY TO FIX THE SAME PROBLEM. RESEARCHED THE ISSUE AND IT'S CALLED "DEATH WOBBLE" HAD I KNOWN THIS EXISTED I WOULD NEVER HAVE BOUGHT THIS CAR, I FEEL SO UNSAFE IN THIS CAR. WINDSHIELD WIPERS AND LIGHTS FAILED TO WORK DURING ICY RAIN/SNOWY CONDITIONS. ROAD VISIBILITY WAS SIGNIFICANTLY IMPAIRED AND I COULDN'T SEE MY INSTRUMENT PANEL. I HAD NO OPTION BUT TO CONTINUE HOME AT VERY SLOW SPEEDS TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. AFTER APPROXIMATELY 20 MINUTES OF DRIVING WITHOUT WIPERS, THE WIPERS SUDDENLY TURNED ON BY THEMSELVES, MOVING VERY FAST. I COULD NOT ADJUST THE WIPER SPEED AT ALL. WHEN I ARRIVED HOME AND TURNED THE JEEP OFF AND REMOVED THE KEYS, WIPERS STILL WOULD NOT TURN OFF. I HAD TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY TO STOP THE WIPERS. DEALER CLAIMS IT WAS A FAULTY WIPER MOTOR. I ADVISED THEM I THINK IT'S A FAULTY TIPM BASED ON WHAT I RESEARCHED/READ ONLINE. THEY ASSURED ME THE TIPM WAS WORKING FINE. WHEN THEY ORDERED AND INSTALLED THE NEW WIPER MOTOR, IT DIDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM. THEY THEN ADMITTED THEY WERE WRONG WITH THE DIAGNOSTIC AND THE TIPM WAS FAULTY. THEY ADVISED ME THAT I NEED A NEW TIPM AND THAT ALL TIPMS ARE ON NATIONWIDE BACK ORDER. SEEMS TIPM FAILURE IS A RECURRING THEME AMONGST CERTAIN JEEP WRANGLER MODELS. IF YOUR LIGHTS AND WIPERS CAN GO OUT WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY HAZARD. I CALLED CHRYSLER TO COMPLAIN AND HAVE YET TO HEAR BACK FROM THEM. *TR

WHEN THE VEHICLE REACHES APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGINS SHAKE. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE DRIVERS SIDE HUB ON THE FRONT AXLE WHICH WASN'T COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY. I HAD IT ALIGNED & THE WHEELS BALANCED, WHICH HELPED A LITTLE, BUT IT WAS STILL SHAKING. TWO MONTHS LATER I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP & THEY'RE REPLACING ALL THE BALL JOINTS AND THE PASSENGER SIDE HUB ON THE FRONT AXLE. I HAD ALREADY REPLACED THE UPPER BALL JOINTS PREVIOUSLY. *JS

WHILE FILLING UP FUEL TANK TO FULL AND USING THE AUTOMATIC SHUTOFF SUPPLIED BY ALL FUEL STATIONS THE GAS WILL OVERFLOW OUT OF THE FILLER NECK FOR 1-2 SECONDS BEFORE ACTUALLY STOPPING THE FLOW OF THE FUEL. *JS

HAVE NOW LEARNED, COMMONLY REFERRED TO THE DEATH WOBBLE. THE STEERING STABILIZER WAS REPLACED AT DEALERS RECOMMENDATION, BUT IT DIDN'T SOLVE THE PROBLEM.
