The contact owns a 2009 Jeep Wrangler. The contact received notifications of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 10V236000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic), 16V290000 (Air Bags), and 18V021000 (Air Bags); however, the parts required to complete the recall repairs were not available. The contact stated that the dealer had been contacted several times. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer confirmed that parts were not yet available and were on back order. The dealer informed the contact that parts for NHTSA Campaign Number: 10V23600 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic); had been discontinued. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that the parts were discontinued. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The contact had not experienced a failure.
Turned on ignition and wipers and headlights turned on with no control, car ignition beeped constantly, all dash lights illuminated, all gauges stopped working (speedometer, fuel, tachometer, temperature) and there was a clicking noise on the transmission. Had to drive home hoping my electrical system wouldn’t shut down while driving home. Narrowed down to faulty TIPM.
My wrangler's brakes locked up repeatedly and I took it to the dealer. They said that it needs a new ABS module but that part is not made anymore. This is a safety issue and I now have a car that I can't sell, can't fix, and can't drive. My wife almost got into an accident.
I was driving approximately 55mph 10/22/2024 on a two-lane roadway in my 2009 Jeep Wrangler X (VIN: [XXX] ) when another vehicle pulled out in front of me. I struck that vehicle in a frontal collision. The force of the impact caused my Jeep to ride up and over the vehicle, enter the opposite lane of travel, and roll over a second vehicle before continuing to roll down the road. Despite the high-speed frontal impact and subsequent rollover, none of the airbags in my vehicle deployed, including the driver frontal airbag. The other vehicles involved in the crash did experience airbag deployment. The crash resulted in significant vehicle damage, including roof deformation consistent with rollover forces. Given the severity of the impact and rollover, I believe the airbags should have deployed. The failure of the airbag system may have contributed to the injuries I sustained. I am concerned that there was a failure of the airbag or restraint system in my vehicle. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The manual transmission malfunctioned, it is available for inspection upon request. My safety and others are put at risk due to the transmission not accepting first gear when in 1st gear, and it “pops” out of gear unexpectedly, leaving me and others in the middle of an intersection. The problem has been reproduced and confirmed by dealers, the manufacturer knows about the problem, to my knowledge. There were not any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms prior to the failure. This issue happens very frequently, and happens to thousands of others with this Jeep. And it’s extremely dangerous.
The passenger seatbelt locking mechanism is stuck and won't release, rendering the seatbelt unusable. When attempting to release the seatbelt, it locks and tightens, potentially choking the passenger. The dealership is unwilling to fix the issue for less than $1000.
When filling my tank, it spits gas back out of the nozzle. I’ve been told in several forums that this is a warranty issue and is to be replaced by a dealership for free. The item that needs to be repaired is a fuel filler tube. I don’t wanna spend the money on buying the part myself if this is something that is covered by the dealership through the factory. This happens every time I fill the tank and has been an ongoing problem for over a year almost 2 years. I have to fill it very slowly with gas as well. I cannot fill it fast as it will stop automatically. The part number is 52060489AH
The AC hose line is making contact with power steer hose line and burned the AC hose. It needs to be properly covered with some kind of mesh so it doesn't happen again
The ABS contoller has failed! This controls the Anti Lock system on the brakes. People can loose control of their vehicle with this failure. All dealers and parts warehouses are on back order with no ETA in sigh! This is very concerning and should be a safety recall because it is a well known maor Safety failure. Nobody has they part! This should be a safety issue and a recall just like the air bags/ sensors! All my lights on the dash came on.. ABS, Brakes, Anti Slip, Check Engine Light etc... I went right to my mechanice shop a few mile from were I was! It was a ABS Internal Failure! Obviosly a well known fact because everyone is having the same issue. This concerns braking and not locking up the brakes were you can loose control of the vehicle or no brake pedal response at all! Please look into it. We will be contacting our State Senanator to also bring up this concern. Thank you in advance for the help! Are we suppose to stop driving to work? No ETA in sight?
Fuel overflow problem. It happens every time I fill up the gas tank.
My Jeep Wrangler warning light cycled on under normal driving conditions. I drove it to my mechanic he said the code read was for the transmission. We checked the transmission fluid and it was filled with fluid. I drove it home into my driveway and I saw smoke and looked under the vehicle. I didn't find anything. When I stood up and walked around the vehicle I noticed smoke coming from the engine compartment. I lifted the hood and flames where present. I closed the hood and ran for fire extinguishers to put out the fire. The Jeep has always been maintained and only has 92k miles on it. The whole incident was captured on my Ring Camera.

Every time I fill the fuel tank it will overflow quite profusely. Not just a trickle, but more like a quart or more. Not only is this manufactured defect a COSTLY inconvenience, BUT A POSSIBLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. Not to mention stinking like gasoline when I arrive at my destination, which was Sunday church service the last time. Research has shown me there has been recalls for this issue on jeeps very near my vehicle's "birthday". I grew up pumping gas for my parents at the station, but now I have to be sure there is a "splash zone" of at least 5 feet of distance from the filler so innocent bystanders don't get splattered. I have been verbally attacked numerous times at the pump because of this manufacturer defect. Now I know perfection can be unattainable, lots of quirky parts in vehicles today, but i can honestly say this situation alone is keeping me from being an advocate of what i once thought was a great buy. I have replaced the steering damper that created the now legendary death wobble, and personally dealt with evap system part failures. Repairing those issues myself doesn't bother me, but the fuel tank is another story. This is something that should absolutely be addressed. If Im required by the government to pass an e-check so minimal fumes don't enter the atmosphere, then this needs to be replaced/corrected IMMEDIATELY because all these jeeps are dumping fuel on the ground all over the world! Also Ive learned about a mopar replacement filler tube with a check valve built in. I feel this issue should be recognized as a recall, or exposed for the environmental hypocrisy it creates.
Excessive heat on shoes while driving. Found defective and rusted floor boards on driver and passenger side.
Frank Hyundai sold this vehicle with significant structural damage to everything that is metal due to rust.
TIPM failure while driving is very unsafe. Can cause lights, wipers, and other failures while driving, including intermittent dangerous stalling and non starting. Please don’t wait until deaths or injury occur before action of this widely known issue.
WHEN FILLING MY 2009 JEEP WRANGLER WITH GAS, THE FUEL OVERFLOWS - OFTEN SO MUCH THAT IT SPILLS ONTO THE GROUND. NO MATTER HOW SLOWLY OR CAUTIOUSLY I PUMP THE FUEL, IT STILL OVERFLOWS. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. IT IS MY OPINION THAT THERE IS A MALFUNCTION IN THE VEHICLE. I HAVE RESEARCHED THE MATTER AND FOUND THAT APPARENTLY I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE HAVING THIS ISSUE. I ASK THAT THIS BE DEEMED A RECALL - AND THAT THE COMPANY PAYS TO FIX IT. THIS MALFUNCTION COULD CAUSE A FIRE AND OTHER ISSUES RELATED TO GASOLINE EXPOSURE.
Hi.. My Jeep has the death wobble and that my Jeep is not included in the recall due ; according to the Jeep dealership. The recall has expired for my 2009 Jeep Wrangler. My kids and grand was in the car when my Jeep after hitting a bump started shaking in the middle of the highway. Please help me. I would get it fix on my own, but I can not afford it and this should not happen when it's a known issue and a safety issue. I can be reached at [XXX]. Any time you fuel this vehicle the fuel gushes out of the filler neck. We have tried several different fueling stations . Different times of the day and night. Nothing changes , the fuel still blows out. Sometimes even if you pump slow it will still spew back out. Not every station has the rubber splash guards on their nozzles. The reason this is a danger is very obvious. Gasoline has a low flash point , not to mention the health risk of the vapors. One freak spark unrelated to me fueling could have deadly consequences. I spoke to jeep headquarters about this issue. They refused to give me the lot number for the faulty fuel tanks. The fuel tanks that had issues was on 2008 and earlier jeep Wranglers. Our jeep was manufactured in 2/2009 and from what I have gathered uses the exact same tank as the 2008 and earlier tanks back to a certain year. Is it to far fetched to believe that the tank installed could be faulty , just like the earlier ones. Just so we are clear this has been occuring since we purchased the jeep and continues to. I would like jeep to replace the tank or the valve in the tank. They could install the retro fit repair . I don't feel as an owner we should have the Burden of replacing the tank.
Experiencing the death wobble.
TIPM HAS EVERYTHING GOING CRAZY. WHEN THE JEEP IS STARTED THE WRIPER START WIPING AND THE THE LIGHTS QUIT AND THERE ARE NO BLINKERS. ALSO HAPPEN WHEN IN MOVEMENT.
THERE IS NO SAFETY STOP ON THE FUEL LINE. EVERY TIME THE TANK IS FILLED IT OVERFLOWS SPILLING GAS EVERYWHERE. THIS IS NOT NEW, BUT FINALLY REPORTING IT. THERE ARE TONS OF PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS ON THE INTERNET
It has been a common known issue for at least the past year for Chrysler/JEEP to have faulty ABS modules in their vehicles. The ABS control module is a microprocessor that runs diagnostic checks of a vehicle's antilock braking system and processes information from wheel-speed sensors and the hydraulic brake system to determine when to release braking pressure at a wheel that's about to lock up and start skidding. It is probably one of the most important parts of a vehicle to make it safe. My local Jeep dealership said to me today that Chrysler plans to be able to allow them to order this part in February of 2023. I feel this is unacceptable, very unsafe and lives can be lost if the production of this part does not come sooner.
DEAD WOBBLE ON JEEP AT 50 MPH SUV STARTS SHACKING LIKE IT'S GOING TO ROLL OVER

EXPERIENCEING THE WELL KNOWN DEATH WOBBLE IN FRONT SUSPENSION AT SPEEDS AROUND 50 MPH. HAVE TRIED MULTIPLE FIXES YET CONDITION STILL REMAINS. ALSO WILL GO INTO DEATH WOBBLE AT OTHER SPEEDS IF HIT A POTHOLE OR BRIDGE TO ROAD GAP, HUMP OR BUMP IN ROAD. THIS JEEP HAS NO CUSTOM MODIFICATIONS. 2009 JEEP WRANGLER WITH ONLY 26000 MILES, NEW TIRES, HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS DEATH WOBBLE SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING IT NEW FROM THE DEALER. I ALSO OWN RAM TRUCKS AND FIXED THE DEATH WOBBLE ON MY 2005 RAM WITH NEW TRACK BAR BUSHINGS. BUSHINGS IN MY 2009 JEEP SHOW NO PLAY AT ALL.
CRACKED FUEL TANK, FOUND THROUGH A SMOKE TEST
THE JEEP HAS LESS THAN 40.000 IS AND IS NOT USED OFF ROAD. ABOUT 55MPH THE FRONT END GETS A OUT OF CONTROL WOBBLE. YOU HAVE TO SLOW WAY DOWN FOR IT TO STOP. IT HAS DONE A FEW TIMES BEFORE. THE LAST TIME IT WAS 4/29/20.THE TRACK BAR WAS REPLACED WITH OEM PART AND STILL DOES IT. IT SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH A LOT OF WRANGLER JEEPS. I DON'T KNOW IF IT IS A DESIGN FLAW. DOING SOME RESEARCH IT SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH JEEPS. THIS JEEP IT COMPLETELY STOCK WITH THE SAME TIRES IT CAME WITH NEW.
AFTER DRIVING IN THE RAIN WITH NO LEAKS EVIDENT THE NEXT DAY THE CAR HAD THE WIPERS RUNNING EVEN WHEN THE SWITCH WAS IN "OFF". THE HEADLIGHTS ARE ON EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE SWITCHED "OFF" AND THE INSTRUMENT GAUGES ARE ALL NON FUNCTIONAL AS WELL AS THE ODOMETER AND DOME LIGHT. REMOVING BATTERY CABLE FIXES THE ISSUE ONE TIME THEN IT GOES BACK TO NOT WORKING
FIRST GEAR POP OUT
AT 16000 MILES, MY DRIVER SIDE EXHAUST MANIFOLD CRACKED. THE DEALER REPLACED. IT HAS NOW BEEN REPLACE 6 ADDITIONAL TIMES. THE DEALER WILL NOT HONOR THEIR ORIGINAL REPAIR WHICH OBVIOUSLY DID NOT WORK. I AM BREATHING INSAFE EXHAUST FUMES. CHRYSLER CORP HAS KNOW ABOUT THIS PROBLEM (TSB 09-001-13) NOW CHRYSLER WILL NOT FIX.IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY THE FIRST 4 TIMES IT CRACKED. CLEARLY IT IS A WARPED HEAD OR VALVE PROBLEM. EITHER WAY EXHAUST COMES IN THE CAR.
SEVERE VIBRATION WHEN OVER 40 MPH. MAINLY AFTER HITTING A POT HOLE. DEATH WOBBLE !
I HAVE REACHED OUT TO GERRY WOOD CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE SEVERAL TIMES REGARDING THE RECALL POST CARD I RECEIVE EVERY COUPLE MONTHS REGARDING A RECALL ON S 33 AIRBAG CLOCK SPRING. I ALSO CALLED DODGE HEADQUARTERS WITH NO RESULTS BECAUSE THE TRANSFERRED MY CALL BACK TO JERRY WOULD CHRYSLERJEEP DODGE. THE JEEP AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON INTERMITTENTLY. THEY TELL ME THE PART IS NOT IN THEY WILL CALL ME WHEN IT IS DELIVERED. I NEVER HEAR BACK FROM ANYONE. IT HAS BEEN A YEAR GOING BACK AND FORTH ABOUT THIS. I'M HESITANT TO DRIVE THE JEEP BECAUSE I COULD POSSIBLY BE INJURED OR INJURE OTHERS. I NEED HELP.
MY BRAKES WENT OUT WHEN DRIVING IT DOWN THE ROAD. I TOOK IT TO POPE DAVIS AND THEY SAID THE HYDRAULIC HOSES WENT BAD CAUSING THE CALLIPERS, ROTORS, AND PADS TO GO BAD. THEN I FOUND OUT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS BUT WHEN I CALLED CHYSTLER THEY SAID MY VEHICLE WASN'T AFFECTED. YES OBVIOUSLY IT WAS. I SPENT $800 ON HAVING THE HYDRAULIC HOSES, CALLIPERS, PAD, AND ROTARS REPLACED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND NOTICED A LOST OF PRESSURE. THE CONTACT DECIDED TO FILL THE VEHICLE WITH BRAKE FLUID; HOWEVER, HE LATER NOTICED BRAKE FLUID LEAKING UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A CERTIFIED MECHANIC AND WAS INFORMED OF AN UNKNOWN RECALL REGARDING THE BRAKE LINE LEAKING BRAKING FLUID. THE CERTIFIED MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE LINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT CALLED WHITTEN BROTHERS CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (LOCATED AT 10701 MIDLOTHIAN TPKE, RICHMOND, VA 23235, 804-378-0707) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 119,000.
MY 2009 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED X WAS STRUCK AT APPROXIMATELY 35MPH ALMOST HEAD ON. ON A CITY STREET MOVING STRAIGHT. NO AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THIS JEEP HAS HAD AT LEAST THREE CLOCK SPRINGS REPLACED AND IS ON A CLOCK SPRING WARRANTY FOR LIFE. THE JEEP HAD NO SIGNS CLOCK SPRING FAILURE PRIOR TO THE ACCIDENT I.E. AIRBAG LIGHT NOR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. ALTHOUGH WEARING SEATBELTS MY FACE STRUCK THE STEERING WHEEL AND I WAS INJURED.*DT
150,000MI ON MY JEEP AND MY HEAT HAS GONE COMPLETELY OUT. I LIVE IN A COLD CLIMATE AREA IN THE NORTH EAST. . THE HEAT STOPPED WORKING WHEN THE CAR WAS MOVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY CAUSING MY WINDOWS TO FOG UP DRAMATICALLY REDUCING VISIBILITY. THIS FOGGING HAS CONTINUED AND I CAN NO LONGER DRIVE THE VEHICLE WITHOUT THE WINDOWS BEING PARTIALLY CRACKED DOWN.
EXPERIENCING "DEATH WOBBLE" WHEN DRIVING OVER A BUMP AT 40-50 MILES PER HOUR. NOT SAFE TO DRIVE IN
ON AN INCLINED BOAT RAMP W/PONTOON AND EMERG BRAKE ENGAGED DISCOVERED LOOSE DISENGAGED SHIFTER. GOOGLE SEARCH LED TO DISCOVERY DETERIORATED SHIFTER BUSHING. SAME AS RECALL V34. MANUALLY MANEUVERED SHIFTER ON TRANSMISSION IN ORDER TO DRIVE HOME. IN GOOGLE SEARCH FOR REMEDY, SAW COUNTLESS POSTS FROM JEEPS WITH SAME ISSUE WHICH COULD EASILY BE SAFETY RELATED. WAS EXCITED WHEN I SAW V34, BUT WASN'T SHOWING UP FOR MY JEEP. WHAT CONSTITUTES A RECALL FOR ONE VEHICLE AND NOT ANOTHER WHEN THE ISSUE IS IDENTICLE?
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH MALFUNCTIONED AND THE HEADLIGHTS WOULD NOT TURN ON OR OFF. ADDITIONALLY, THE TURN SIGNAL LIGHT FAILED TO OPERATE AND THE REVERSE LIGHTS WOULD NOT ILLUMINATE. THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS MALFUNCTIONED AND WOULD INADVERTENTLY LY TURN ON. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURES WERE NOT YET DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER CLAY COOLEY DODGE LOCATED AT 1261 E AIRPORT FWY, IRVING, TX 75062 AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE CONTACT ALSO INDICATED THAT THE THROTTLE FUEL PUMP WAS REPLACED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
HAD AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM WITH THE AIR BAG DASHBOARD LIGHT ACTIVATING. THIS WOULD OCCUR AT SPEEDS OF ZERO UP TO HIGHWAY AND WOULD COME AND GO WITHOUT WARNING. THE OBD-II CODE WAS B1B8F, DRIVER SEAT TRACK POSITION SENSOR CIRCUIT OPEN. AFTER REMOVING THE DRIVER SEAT TO ACCESS THE WIRING HARNESS DISCOVERED THAT ONE WIRE WAS BROKEN AT THE SENSOR, PARTIALLY HELD TOGETHER BY A "THREAD" OF THE WIRE INSULATION WITH BARE METAL EXPOSED. THE WIRING HARNESS HAD BEEN INSTALLED UNDER THE SEAT WITH THE WIRE PULLED TIGHT TO THE UNDER SEAT "SPRING" WIRE SUPPORT AND HELD IN PLACE WITH A ZIP TIE. I CONSIDER IT LIKELY THAT THE UP-AND-DOWN MOTION OF THE SEAT OVER A PERIOD OF YEARS CAUSED THE HARNESS WIRE TO BREAK. THE FIRST PICTURE SHOWS THE CONNECTOR TO WHICH THE BROKEN WIRE WAS ATTACHED. UNFORTUNATELY THE BROKE WIRE IS IN THE BACK, THE ONE WITH THE PURPLE STRIPE. THE SECOND PICTURE SHOWS THE BROKEN WIRE AFTER THE WIRE PLUG WAS PULLED OUT OF THE CONNECTOR,
ALL WARNING LIGHTS ON INSTRUMENT CLUSTER TURNED ON AND THERE WAS A CONSTANT CHIME. FUEL GAGE DROPPED TO EMPTY, I DIDN'T KNOW HOW MUCH GAS I HAD. THE SPEEDOMETER AND TACHOMETER NO LONGER WORKED, I HAD NO IDEA HOW FAST/SLOW I WAS GOING. WINDSHIELD WIPERS STAYED ON CONSTANTLY, IN THE OFF POSITION, EVENTUALLY DESTROYING MY BLADES. HEADLIGHTS STAYED ON CONSTANTLY IN THE OFF POSITION AND BLINKERS WOULD NOT FUNCTION AT ALL. HORN WOULD RANDOMLY GO OFF AND DOORS WOULD LOCK & UNLOCK. AC BLEW HOT. IT KIND OF FELT LIKE MY POWER STEERING WENT OUT. I COULD SMELL STRONG FUMES FROM THE EXHAUST. I FIRST REPLACED THE TIPM AND SOME OF THE PROBLEMS WERE FIXED, BUT NOT ALL. I THEN REPLACED THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND ALL PREVIOUS UNRESOLVED ISSUES, WERE RESOLVED. WHEN THE PROBLEMS FIRST STARTED HAPPENING, IT ONLY HAPPENED OCCASIONALLY. IT HAPPENED AT RANDOM TIMES, DRIVING ON HIGHWAYS OR STREETS OR SITTING AT A RED LIGHT. AFTER A FEW MONTHS IT WAS CONSTANT AND WOULD START AS SOON AS VEHICLE WAS STARTED.
WHEN IT HITS A BUMP AROUND 40 PER HOUR, IT WOBBLES UNCONTROLLABLY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING DOWN A HILL ON A BRIDGE, THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE STARTED TO WOBBLE RAPIDLY AND EXPERIENCED THE "DEATH WOBBLE". THE SAME FAILURE RECURRED TWO WEEKS LATER AS THE FRONT END STARTED TO WOBBLE AGAIN GOING DOWN A HILL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT TWO LUG NUTS DETACHED FROM THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE DUE TO THE VIBRATIONS FROM THE "DEATH WOBBLE". THE CONTACT RESEARCHED THE FAILURE ON THE INTERNET AND CALLED AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A SHOCK IN THE FRONT END RODS OR STEERING DAMPENER CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. AN UNKNOWN DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL FOR THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 102,600.*DT *JS
FIRST TIME FILLING THE TANK UP, AND OUT OF NO WHERE GAS EJECTED OUT ON TO ME AND WOULD NOT STOP. I HAD TO GRAB THE GAS NOZZLE OUT TO GET IT TO STOP. I WAS COVERED IN FLAMMABLE GAS, SMALL PUDDLES ON THE GROUND AND THE GAS THAT I COULDNT GET OFF THE PLASTIC BUMPER AND FENDER, RUINED THEM. NOT TO MENTION WAISTED $5 IN GAS AND EMBARRASSED WHEN I HAD TO TELL THE MANAGER OF THE SPILLED GAS.
HOOD PATCHES DON'T HOLD THE HOOD SECURE IT COMES LOOSE AT HYWAY SPEEDS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 JEEP WRANGLER. THE OWNER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS STOLEN AND THE DRIVER LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND CRASHED CAUSING THE VEHICLE ROLL OVER SEVERAL TIMES. DURING THE CRASH THE FRONT END WAS SEVERELY DAMAGED BUT THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. NO FURTHER INFO WAS AVAILABLE. A POLICE REPORT WAS TAKEN AT THE SCENE. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
