DEADH WOBBLE, REALLY BAD VIBRATION COMING FROM THE FRONT , ESPECIALLY AFTER GOING OVER POTHOLE OR RAILROAD TRACKS, SPEEDS OVER 30 MPH . ITS GETTING TO THE POINT WHERE IS VERY EASY TO SOMEONE TO LOOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND COULD EASILY CAUSE HARD TO THE DRIVER OR OTHERS INCLUDING DEAD, JEEP SHOULD BE AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE A VEHICLE THAT WOBBLES TO THE POINT IS NOT SAFE TO OPERATE. A PERSON COULD GET HURT IF THIS PLOBLEM DOEST GET LOOK INTO IT. YOU GUYS ARE MORE THAN WELCOME TO TEST MY VEHICLE AND SEE IF YOU GUYS WOULD DRIVE A VEHICLE LIKE THIS ON THE DAILY BASIS, IS LIKE A BOMB READY TO EXPLODE AT ANY TIME. IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE. DRIVER'S SIDE (LEFT) EXTERIOR SIDE MIRROR FELL OFF WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET. MIRROR FELL INTO ROAD WAY POSING A HAZARD FOR OTHER DRIVERS. UPON RECOVERING MIRROR I FOUND THAT THE STRUCTURAL BASE THAT ATTACHED THE MIRROR TO THE BODY WAS SEVERELY CORRODED AWAY AND IT BROKE WHERE AN ATTACHING BOLT AFFIXED THE MIRROR TO THE MOUNT NOT AT THE POINT THE MOUNT ATTACHED TO THE VEHICLE. MY SELLING DEALER COVERED THIS UNDER OUR CHRYSLER EXTENDED WARRANTY WITH A $100 DEDUCTIBLE. BUT THIS IS A COMMON DEFECT AND POSES A SAFETY HAZARD BOTH TO THE OWNER AND OTHERS AROUND THE VEHICLE OR OTHER DRIVERS. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE REFUELING THE VEHICLE, IT EXPERIENCED AN OVERFLOW OF FUEL. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL TUBE WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. TAKATA RECALL (S43 / NHTSA 16V-352): I HAVE BEEN WAITING SEVERAL MONTHS FOR A REPLACEMENT PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG INFLATOR REPLACEMENT AND GET NO ANSWERS OTHER THAN NO PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. WHAT ACTION IS THE NHTSA TAKING AGAINST CHRYSLER/JEEP/MOPAR AND TAKATA ON THIS? THIS IS RIDICULOUS THAT I AM TOLD THAT I SHOULD NOT HAVE A PASSENGER AS THIS THING CAN FAIL. EXPERIENCED "DEATH WOBBLE" TWICE IN PAST MONTH - UNCONTROLLABLE SHAKING OF FRONT END AT SPEED AFTER HITTING MINOR BUMP IN HIGHWAY. ALMOST CAUSED ACCIDENT. HAD TO SLOW TO NEAR STOP ON HIGHWAY FOR SHAKING TO SUBSIDE.
THE VEHICLE HAS SOME TYPE OF SHORT IN THE STARTER CIRCUIT, SO POWER DOES NOT TRANSMIT TO THE STARTER WHEN THE KEY IS TURNED. THIS IS A COMMON COMPLAINT ON JKFORUM AS WELL WITH A SOLUTION OF ADDING A GROUND WIRE.
TAKATA RECALL I AM FILING A COMPLAINT BECAUSE IT IS APPALLING THAT SUCH A DANGEROUS SITUATION CREATED BY THE FAILURE OF AIRBAGS AND INVOLVING A RECALL ACTUALLY HAS NO SOLUTION AND HAS NO TIMELINE FOR WHEN A SOLUTION WILL BE AVAILABLE, THIS IS INCREDIBLY SERIOUS AND IMPORTANT, YET THERE IS NO SOLUTION. YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING. MY JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED IS PART OF THIS ENORMOUS, INEFFECTIVE RECALL, AND MY FAMILY AND I RIDE IN THIS VEHICLE ON A REGULAR BASIS. VEHICLE NOT BEING REPAIRED IN A REASONABLE MANNER: RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE S43 AND S33. I CALLED SUNLAND PARK DODGE, EL PASO, TX FOR SERVICE. WAS INFORMED THAT PARTS NOT AVAILABLE AND TO CALL BACK IN APPROXIMATELY 3 WEEKS. I CALLED APPROXIMATELY 4 WEEKS LATER TO SAME FACILITY AND WAS TRANSFERRED TO SERVICE DEPARTMENT. A REPRESENTATIVE INFORMED ME THAT ONE OF THE RECALLED PARTS WAS NOT AVAILABLE. I ASKED IF I COULD ORDER THE PART AND SCHEDULE A SERVICE APPOINTMENT. REQUEST WAS DENIED. THE REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDED TO TRY AND HAVE ME CALL THE NATIONAL DODGE PARTS DEPT TO INQUIRE WHEN THE PART WOULD BE IN. I TOLD HIM THAT I WOULD NOT BE WILLING TO SPEND MY PERSONAL TIME (AN EXPENSE) CHASING DOWN A PART THAT HE SHOULD BE ABLE TO ORDER. I THEN ASKED IF HE WOULD MAKE THAT CALL AND GET THAT INFORMATION TO ME. HE REFUSED TO HELP ME AND WAS ATTEMPTING TO END THE CALL. THEN I ASKED TO SPEAK WITH HIS MANGER. AROUND 20 MINUTES LATER SOMEONE WHO WAS NOT HIS MANAGER PROCEEDED TO GIVE FALSE INFORMATION SAYING THAT THEY COULD REPLACE ONE OF THE PARTS AND 'INSPECT' THE OTHER RECALLED PART TO SEE IF IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I INFORMED THE UNIDENTIFIED WOMAN THAT, CONSIDERING THE QUESTIONABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, I WOULD NO LONGER FEEL SAFE TRUSTING THEIR DEALERSHIP TO MAKE REPAIRS TO MY VEHICLE. SERVICE INCOMPLETE AFTER APPROXIMATELY 7 WEEKS. PURSUING SERVICE AT ALTERNATE DEALERSHIP.

THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND NOTICED SMOKE AND FLAMES INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE AND A REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO EXIT THE VEHICLE WITHOUT INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO A STORAGE LOT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,000.

TAKATA RECALL. I WAS NOTIFIED ON ABOUT JULY 1, 2016, THAT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG NEEDED TO BE REPLACED IN A RECALL. IT'S BEEN ALMOST 9 MONTHS. VIOLENT SHAKING OF THE STEERING WHEEL WHEN THE JEEP GOES OVER A BUMP IN THE ROAD. THIS IS A REGULAR OCCURRENCE. THE LAST INCIDENT, THE HAZARD LIGHTS ON THE DASH PANEL CAME ON AND HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO TURN OFF SINCE THEN. HAPPENS MOSTLY ON THE HIGHWAY OR WHEN THE VEHICLE IS TRAVELING AT 45-55 MPH.

THE MECHANIC INFORMED HER THAT THE B1B02 (DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG CLOCK SPRING ASSEMBLY) WAS EXPERIENCING A FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE NEEDED ATTENTION AS SOON AS POSSIBLE TO PREVENT AN AIR BAG FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
TAKATA RECALL NO ONE SEEMS TO BE ABLE TO REMEDY S33 AND S43. TWO DEALERS HAVE TOLD ME THEY HAVE NO PARTS. ONE OF THEM TOLD ME SINCE IT WAS A 2009 NOTHING HAD HAPPENED YET, I TOLD HIM I HAVEN'T HAD A WRECK YET.
MY JEEP HAS THE DEATH WOBBLE. I HAVE HAD IT IN THE SHOP TWICE TO GET IT FIXED AND SPENT OVER $3,000 SO FAR TO FIX THE PROBLEM AND IT HAS NOT BE RESOLVED! NEW PARTS AND NEW TIRES HAVE NOT HELPED. SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET HURT OR KILLED. IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME.

USUALLY AFTER HITTING A BUMP, THE TIRE(S) BEGIN TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY AND DO NOT STOP UNTIL SLOWING DOWN SIGNIFICANTLY OR COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP. FROM WHAT I'VE RESEARCHED, THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH JEEP OWNERS AND CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS. THIS STARTED A FEW MONTHS AGO ON MY JEEP AND APPEARS TO HAPPEN MORE FREQUENTLY.
TAKATA INFLATORS: I RECEIVE WARRANTIES ON THE PASSENGER AIRBAG INFLATOR AND THE AIRBAG CLOCK SPRING WHICH WAS PERFECT BECAUSE THE LIGHT HAS BEEN GOING ON AND OFF FOR SOME TIME. NOW I'M BEING TOLD THIS IS NOT WHY THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON I AM BEING TOLD THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG HAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH IT BEING ABLE TO DEPLOY. WOULD THIS HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE CLOCKSPRING? THEY ARE STILL REPLACING THE RECALLED PARTS BUT MY CONCERN IS WHY WOULD THIS ALL OF A SUDDEN HAPPEN WHEN THERE IS ISSUES WITH THE AIR BAGS AS IT STANDS NOW?

The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The dealer was contacted and confirmed that the parts were not yet available. The dealer had been waiting for parts for over a month and a half for parts to repair another vehicle. The contact called several other dealers; however, parts were not available. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.

MY JEEP WENT ON FIRE DO TO A BAD OR FULTY FUSE BOX. REPORTS SAY ITS A BAD MODULE IN THE FUSE BOX.AND IT WILL GET HOT ENOUGH TO START A FIRE. AND WAS SITTING IN MY DRIVE WAY FOR 2 DAYS.
ON MY 09 JEEP WRANGLER (LHD) DASHBOARD, THE AIRBAG LIGHT AND CHIME COME ON AND OFF DURING MY DAILY COMUTE AN INDICATION THAT THERE IS SOMETHING MALFUNCTIONING OR INTERFERING WITH THE VEHICLES AIBAGS. THIS HAS BEEN A RECURRING ISSUE AND CONCERN FOR MANY 2008 JEEP WRANGLER (LHD) OWNERS, INCLUDING MYSELF, AND HAS BEEN SHOWN TIME AND TIME AGAIN TO BE CAUSED BY A FAULTY CLOCKSPRING WITHIN THE VEHICLE'S STEERING WHEEL. THIS FAULTY CLOCKSPRING IS THE CULPRIT FOR POTENTIAL AIRBAG FAILURE IN THE 2008 JEEP WRANGLER (LHD) DURING AN ACCIDENT OR PREMATURE DEPLOYMENT WHEN SIMPLY DRIVING AROUND. DAIMLER CHRYSLER HAS REFUSED TO ADDRESS THE SAFETY CONCERN OF THEIR FAULTY CLOCKSPRING THAT CAN CAUSE FAILURE OF THE VEHICLE'S AIRBAGS FROM PROPERLY DEPLOYING. AT FIRST MY HORN STOP WORKING (ALSO CAUSED BY A FAULTY CLOCKSPRING) AND DIDN'T THINK MUCH OF IT, BUT I HAD TO LOOK INTO THIS MATTER A LITTLE DEEPER WHEN MY AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON.
THE VEHICLE'S AIRBAG LIGHT ILLUMINATES WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL IS TURNING. THE CLOCK SPRING IS DEFECTIVE. THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL ON THIS PART AND I AM NOT SURE WHY MY VIN NUMBER IS NOT BEING CHOSEN FOR THE RECALL WHEN IT HAS THE SAME SYMPTOMS AS ALL THE VEHICLES THAT ARE RECALLED. I AM NERVOUS TO WAIT FOR IT TO POSSIBLY GET RECALLED IN CASE I AM IN AN ACCIDENT.

MY AIRBAG LIGHT KEEPS GOING ON AND OFF AND CHIMES WITH EVER TIME IT IS ENGAGED ON THE FREEWAY. I BELIEVE MY AIRBAG SYSTEM IS MALFUNCTIONING WHICH IS A SAFETY CONCERN.
FUEL SPITS BACK WHEN FUELING. THIS HAPPENS EVERYTHING WE FUEL UP AND IS CREATING A DANGEROUS SITUATION. THE LOCAL JEEP DEALER TELLS ME THERE WAS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY OFFERED FOR 2007 AND 2008 JEEP WRANGLERS BUT MY 2009 WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE EXTENDED WARRANTY.
DRIVING NORTH BOUND ON INTERSTATE 89 IN NEW HAMPSHIRE APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, DROVE OVER A BRIDGE ABUTMENT AND THE FRONT END OF MY 2009 JEEP WRANGLER START TO VIOLENTLY SHAKE. THE VIOLENT SHAKING DIDN'T STOP UNTIL I SLOWED TO 30 MPH.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED IF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,000. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED.
ALMOST EVERY TIME I FILL UP MY JEEP AND USE THE AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF ON THE PUMP, IT WILL SHUT OFF AND THEN PUKE SOME GAS OUT THE FILLER HOLE AND DOWN THE SIDE OF THE JEEP. JEEP WON'T COVER IT BECAUSE IT WASNT A 2007 OR 2008 MY WITH SAME KNOWN ISSUE.

STARTED 2/17/2016 AND HAS BEEN GOING ON EVER SINCE
THE PROBLEM IS THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE. THE FRONT WINDSHIELD WIPERS ACTIVATE ON THERE OWN WITH NO CONTROL. THE GAUGE CLUSTER SHUTS DOWN AND ALL THE DASH LIGHTS TURN ON. YOU LOOSE ABILITY TO CONTROL TURN SIGNALS AND HEADLIGHTS. THE RADIO TURNS OFF. THE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON. THIS MAY OCCOUR AT ANY TIME.

ON THE 2009 JEEP WRANGLER (LHD) DASHBOARD (MILEAGE 79,600), THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT FLASHES ON EVERY OTHER MINUTE WITH A CHIME, AN INDICATION THAT THERE IS SOMETHING MALFUNCTIONING OR INTERFERING WITH THE VEHICLE'S AIRBAGS.THIS HAS BEEN A RECURRING ISSUE AND CONCERN FOR MANY 2009 JEEP WRANGLER (LHD) OWNERS, INCLUDING MYSELF, AND HAS BEEN SHOWN TIME AND TIME AGAIN TO BE CAUSED BY A FAULTY CLOCKSPRING WITHIN THE VEHICLE'S STEERING WHEEL. THIS FAULTY CLOCKSPRING IS THE CULPRIT FOR POTENTIAL AIRBAG FAILURE IN THE 2009 JEEP WRANGLER (LHD) DURING AN ACCIDENT OR PREMATURE DEPLOYMENT WHEN SIMPLY DRIVING AROUND. DAIMLER CHRYSLER HAS REFUSED TO ADDRESS THE SAFETY CONCERN OF THEIR FAULTY CLOCKSPRING THAT CAN CAUSE FAILURE OF THE VEHICLE'S AIRBAGS FROM PROPERLY DEPLOYING.
THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT TURN ON I WOULD HAVE TO CONTINUOUSLY TURN THE IGNITION AND FINALLY IT WILL TURN ON. THE VEHICLE HAS RECENTLY BEGAN STALLING AND TURNING OFF WHEN I WOULD BE SITTING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT AND VIBRATING VERY SCARELY. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON SO I TOOK IT TO MY MACHANIC WHO STATED IT NEEDED TO HAVE A TUNEUP BECAUSE IT WAS MISFIRING ON FIVE CYLINDERS INSTEAD OF SIX CYLINDERS. THE WAS DONE BUT FIVE DAYS LATER THE PROBLEM RETURNED AND THIS TIME THE TAILLIGHT ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE VEHICLE ALONE WITH THE RIGHT SIDE SIGNAL LIGHT WERE BOTH OUT. I THEN TOOK THE VEHICLE TO JEEP WHO CHARGED ME $140 JUST TO TELL ME THAT IT WOULD COST ME ANOTHER $870 TO REPLACE THE TIPM. I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW THIS COULD BE HAPPENING ON A VEHICLE WITH 72,000 MILES IF IT WAS NOT DEFECTED TO BEGIN WITH. BARBARA KING
AIR BAG LIGHT ON INTERMITTENTLY, AFTER STARTING VEHICLE, TURNING AND/OR HITTING BUMP, DINGS CONSTANTLY FROM COMING ON AND GOING OFF (APPX EVERY 20 SECONDS WHILE DRIVING). KNOWN ISSUE IS ON RECALL FOR RHD VEHICLES, BUT NOT ON LHD VEHICLES. HOW MANY COMPLAINTS ARE NEEDED BEFORE RECALL IS ISSUED? OBVIOUSLY, THERE IS A PROBLEM.
A FEW WEEKS AFTER GETTING THE RHD CLOCK SPRING REDESIGNED STYLE I KEPT GOING OUT OF CONTROL ON TURNS,AND WHEN THE ROAD WAS COVERED IN SNOW THE WHEELS WOULD LOCK UP AND I WOULD GO OUT OF CONTROL AND SPIN IN A CIRCLE. THE NEW DESIGN CLOCK SPRING DIDN'T WORK FROM THE BEGINNING,AND IT COULD HAVE CAUSED A CATASTROPHIC EVENT A NEW OLD STYLE CLOCKSPRING HAD TO BE INSTALLED TO FIX THE PROBLEM FOR THE 7TH TIME
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2009 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE DRIVER SIDE OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED A HEAD BUMP, BUT DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO THE DEALER'S COLLISION BODY SHOP. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 91,000.
MY 2009 JEEP WRANGLER 4X4 HAS A ISSUE REGARDING THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT. THE LIGHT COMES ON INTERMITTANTLY AND THE WARNING BELL WILL GO OFF. WHILE I AM DRIVING. APPROXIMATELY 4 YEARS AGO, THE HEATER CORE IN MY JEEP FAILED SUDDENLY, POURING ANTIFREEZE OUT ONTO MY PASSENGER FLOORBOARD REPEATEDLY. AT THE TIME I WAS NOT AWARE THAT IT WAS MY HEATER CORE. WE ASKED A MECHANIC TO LET US KNOW WHAT WAS WRONG AND THAT'S WHEN WE FOUND OUT. I AM SO GLAD THAT WE NOTICED IT IN TIME BECAUSE WE HAVE 3 DOGS THAT FREQUENTLY ARE IN MY VEHICLE AND ONE, SOME, OR ALL OF THEM COULD HAVE DIED. THIS WAS NOT A CHEAP FIX AS THEY HAD TO TAKE APART THE DASH TO GAIN ACCESS. I LOVE MY JEEP, BUT COME ON YOU GUYS.... NO CUSTOMER SHOULD HAVE TO FORK OVER SO MUCH MONEY FOR MANUFACTURER DEFECTS.
FAULTY CLOCKSPRING WIRING FOR AIRBAG. REPLACED FOR $500.00 THIS IS A KNOWN DEFECT FOR RHD MODELS THAT HAS PROMPTED A RECALL. AFTER MANY COMPLAINTS, THE 2007 LHD MODEL WARRANTY APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN EXTENDED AS WELL. HOWEVER, I HAD THE SAME ISSUES WITH MY 2009 LHD MODEL (160,000 MILES). THIS IS A KNOWN DEFECT THAT SHOULD BE ABSORBED BY THE COMPANY AND NOT THE CUSTOMER!
