I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AROUND 65 MPH DURING RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. I HIT A BUMP IN THE ROAD AND THE FRONT END OF MY JEEP FELT LIKE IT WAS VIOLENTLY BOUNCING FROM SIDE TO SIDE. I COULD HARDLY KEEP THE VEHICLE IN MY OWN LANE. I WAS TERRIFIED. I GOT OFF THE ROAD AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. I GOT OUT, LOOKED AT IT AND SAW NOTHING WRONG. I CALLED MY HUSBAND, AND HE WOULD NOT LET ME DRIVE IT HOME. HE DROVE IT TO OUR MECHANIC, AND OTHER THAN MY BRAKES NEEDING WORK, HE FOUND NOTHING WRONG. THE MECHANIC FIXED MY BRAKES AND I TOOK IT HOME. THE NEXT TIME I TOOK IT OUT, IT DID IT AGAIN. MY MECHANIC TOOK IT BACK, DROVE IT HIMSELF, AND THE JEEP DID THE SAME THING. MY MECHANIC DID SOME RESEARCH ONLINE AND SAID IT WAS THE "DEATH WOBBLE". HE TIGHTENED SOME BOLTS ON THE BAR THAT AREN'T THE RIGHT SIZE FOR THE VEHICLE.. IT DIDN'T HELP. NOW I HAVE A JEEP THAT I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE, AND REALLY CAN'T AFFORD TO FIX, IF IT CAN EVEN BE FIXED. FROM WHAT I RESEARCHED ONLINE, IT SEEMS TO ONLY GET BETTER FOR AWHILE, THEN THE PROBLEM RETURNS. WHY ISN'T JEEP TAKING CARE OF THIS PROBLEM? DO PEOPLE HAVE TO GET INJURED OR KILLED BEFORE THEY DO SOMETHING? THE LEMON LAW MAY BE MY ONLY OPTION IF IT CAN'T BE FIXED, AND I MAY HAVE TO KEEP THE VEHICLE FOR SOME TIME BEFORE THAT COULD GO THROUGH. PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THESE JEEPS WITH THE "DEATH WOBBLE". *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH AND GOING AROUND A BEND WHEN THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY. THE SHAKING WOULD ONLY STOP ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THEY ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE STEERING STABILIZER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 57,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE PARKED, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTICS. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. AFTER THE REPAIR, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE SPARE TIRE AND THE REAR DRIVER AND PASSENGER TIRE PRESSURE SENSORS WERE FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 24,000.
EVERYTIME I FILL ME TANK FUEL SPITS OUT OF THE FILLER NECK. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF I FILL THE TANK SLOW OR FAST. I HAVE TRIED MANY DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS AND STILL NO LUCK. ITS SO BAD THAT IT SPITS UP OVER THE ENTIRE REAR QUARTER PANEL, THE GROUND AND YOUR CLOTHS AND SHOES IF YOUR NOT AWARE ITS GOING TO HAPPEN. FROM MY UNDERSTANDING THERE IS THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE 2007-2008 AND THEY ARE RECALLING THE TANKS. *TR
WHEN FILLING UP THE GAS TANK THE FUEL WILL SPIT BACK OUT OF THE TANK. THIS CREATES A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF FUEL BEING SHOT BACK AT THE PERSON FILLING UP THE VEHICLE AND IT ALSO CREATES AN ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARD. THIS HAS OCCURRED ON THE LAST TWO OCCASIONS WHEN RE-FUELING THE VEHICLE. *TR
I EXPERIENCED A CLASSIC "DEATH WOBBLE" AS DESCRIBED ON JEEP PROBLEMS.COM. EXTREME SHAKING FROM SIDE TO SIDE AND LOSS OF ABILITY TO STEER UNTIL I SLOWED DOWN BELOW 20 MPH. *TR
MY 2009 JEEP WRANGLER IS SPITTING OUT ABOUT A PINT OF GAS AT EVERY FILL UP JUST AFTER THE AUTO SHUT OFF FOR THE PUMP ENGAGES. IT RUNS DOWN THE SIDE OF MY LEFT REAR QUARTER PANEL, ONTO THE BUMPER AND THEN ONTO THE GROUND. THIS IS BOTH A SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONCERN. I AM CURRENTLY USING MY TRIP ODOMETER TO ESTIMATE THE AMOUNT OF FUEL I CAN PUT IN BASED ON MY ESTIMATED GAS MILEAGE AND MILES DRIVEN. *TR
I HAVE A 2009 JEEP WRANGLER AND EVERY TIME I FILL UP THE GAS, IT SPILLS OUT. CHRYSLER/JEEP KNOWS OF THE "FUEL SPILL BACK DURING REFUELING" DANGER. GAS SPLASHES OUT OF TANK DURING REFUELING (APPARENT CHECK VALVE MANUFACTURER DEFECT). ALSO, POSSIBLE GAS SPILL DURING ROLL OVER. CHRYSLER ISSUED TRAFFIC SAFETY BULLETIN, DATED FEBRUARY 11, 2011, (TSB) # 14-001-11 FOR EXTENDED WARRANTY (LIFETIME) FOR JEEP WRANGLERS WITH 3.8L ENGINE BUILT BETWEEN MARCH 1, 2007 & MARCH 31, 2008. GAS TANKS BEING REPLACED. MY 2009 JEEP WRANGLER (SAME ENGINE, EXACT SAME DEFECTIVE CHECK VALVE) ALSO, SPLASHES GAS BACK AT YOU DURING REFUELING, BUT IS NOT INCLUDED IN BULLETIN, DUE TO MY VEHICLE 'BUILT ON' DATE BEING TOO LATE. NEITHER GAS TANK NOR CHECK VALVE HAD BEEN REDESIGNED TO MAKE SAFE, AS OF THE CUT OFF DATE IN BULLETIN. DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT STATES THAT THEY SEE THIS PROBLEM ALL THE TIME (THEY CALL IT 'BURPING'). *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER REFUELING, FUEL SPEWED BACK OUT OF THE FILLER NECK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. WHEN FILLING MY 2009 JEEP WRANGLER WITH GAS, THE FUEL OVERFLOWS - OFTEN SO MUCH THAT IT SPILLS ONTO THE GROUND. NO MATTER HOW SLOWLY OR CAUTIOUSLY I PUMP THE FUEL, IT STILL OVERFLOWS! THIS HAS HAPPENED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS! I HAVE HAD OTHER PEOPLE FUEL MY VEHICLE TO MAKE CERTAIN IT WAS NOT PERSONAL ERROR - AND IT STILL OVERFLOWS. IT IS MY OPINION THAT THERE IS A MALFUNCTION IN THE VEHICLE. I HAVE RESEARCHED THE MATTER AND FOUND THAT APPARENTLY I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE HAVING THIS ISSUE. I ASK THAT THIS BE DEEMED A RECALL - AND THAT THE COMPANY PAYS TO FIX IT. THIS MALFUNCTION COULD CAUSE A FIRE AND OTHER ISSUES RELATED TO GASOLINE EXPOSURE. IT IS NOT ETHICAL THAT I CAN NOT FILL MY VEHICLE WITH GASOLINE WITHOUT DEALING WITH THE EXTRA COST, DAMAGE TO MY VEHICLE, AND HEALTH RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH AN OVERFLOW! *TR
GAS OVERFLOWS AND SPITS OUT WHEN FILLING THE TANK. *TR
VEHICLE REPEATEDLY JUMPS OUT OF FIRST GEAR FROM A DEAD STOP. TRANSMISSION VIOLENTLY SHAKES THE VEHICLE AND JUMPS THE VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL LEAVING THE DRIVER WITH NO POWER IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION. TRAILING VEHICLES ARE FORCED TO SLAM ON BRAKES, OR SWERVE TO AVOID MY VEHICLE WITH NO FORWARD MOMENTUM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING LAMP ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE CLOCK SPRING WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 59,500.
GAS OVERFLOWS EVERY TIME I FILL UP. *TR
AROUND 50,000 MILES THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON. A CODE READER SHOWED IT WAS A DEFECTIVE CLOCK SPRING
AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON AND DINGER COMES ON CONSTANTLY, WAS TOLD BY DEALER IT IS A CLOCKSPRING FAILURE, I HAVE SEEN SEVERAL COMMENTS ON JEEP FORUMS CONCERNING THIS PROBLEM, JEEP IS A RHD. *TT
WHEN DRIVING AT 50 MPH OR ABOVE ( HIGHWAY SPEEDS) AND HIT A BUMP THE WHOLE VECHILE WILL SHAKE SO VIOENTLY THAT YOU THINK YOU ARE LITERALLY GOING TO DIE. IF YOU STEP ON THE BRAKES, IT ONLY GETS WORSE. ON THE OUTSIDE THE TIRES WOBBLE IN OUT OUT, LOOKING AS THOUGH BOTH AXLES JUST BROKE OFF. I HAVE HAD MINE IN AND OUT OF THE SHOP OVER 10 TIMES AND HAS BEEN OUT OF SERVICE FOR OVER 2 MONTHS. I WIL GET IT BACK FROM THE SHOP AND WITHIN A WEEK OF HAVING IT BACK THE DEATH WOBBLE ( SHAKING OF VECHILE) IS BACK AND ONLY GETS WORSE. I HAVE TAKEN MY JEEP TO A DIFFERENT DEALERSHIP THEN I BOUGHT IT AND THEY FOUND THAT THE LIFTKIT THAT WAS ALREADY INSTALLED ON MY JEEP BEFORE I BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW HAD MISSING PARTS AND THEY USED A LUG NUT FOR A NUT ON IT. THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT IS CAUSING IT. THEY ARE JUST THROWING PARTS AT IT.
WHILE ENTERING HIGHWAY AT 60 MPH, WHILE MERGING I CROSSED OVER A ROADWAY LANE SEAM WHICH SEEMED TO ACTUATE A HARMONIC VIBRATION IN THE FRONT SUSPENSION WHICH INCREASED TO A DANGEROUS UNCONTROLLABLE AND VIOLENT SHAKING MAKING CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE EXTREMELY DIFFICULT. THIS SHAKING CONTINUED WHILE I SLOWED AND CROSSED 2 LANES OF TRAFFIC TO THE SHOULDER AND STOPPED ONLY AFTER I CAME TO A FULL STOP. INSPECTED FRONT SUSPENSION FOR DAMAGE AND SAW NONE. I CONTINUED ON MY TRIP WITH NO OTHER INCIDENT. THIS CONDITION IS INHERENT IN WRANGLERS AND OFTEN REFERRED TO IN JEEP MESSAGE BOARDS AS THE "WRANGLER DEATH WOBBLE". DEALER ROTATED AND REBALANCED TIRES AND INSTALLED NEW STEERING DAMPER IN HOPES THAT MIGHT SOLVE THE ISSUE. THE POTENTIAL FOR CAUSING AN ACCIDENT IS VERY REAL. *KB
WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP/NEAR-STOP, THE CAR WILL VIOLENTLY JUMP OUT OF GEAR. THE FIRST TIME IT OCCURRED I THOUGHT I WAS REAR-ENDED. IT IS DIFFICULT TO INTENTIONALLY REPEAT: THE ONLY PATTERN IS THAT IT IS A FIRST GEAR, ACCELERATING FROM SLOW SPEED ISSUE. BEGINNING TO BE INTIMIDATED TO PULL INTO TRAFFIC. IT IS INCREASING IN FREQUENCY AND SEVERITY. LITHIA DEALER SAYS IT IS A JEEP ISSUE. JEEP SAYS IT IS A DEALER ISSUE. I MISS MY 1999 SAHARA. *TR
AUTO WON'T START. ACTS AS IF IT IS TRYING TO START WHILE IN GEAR. POSSIBLE TRANSMISSION RANGE SENSOR PROBLEM. HAS OCCURED NUMEROUS TIMES. *TT
FUEL FILLER BURPS OUT GASOLINE AFTER ALL FILL UPS. HAPPENS AT ANY TYPE OF PUMP AND FILL STATION. *TR
TWO DAYS AGO, THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ON THE DASH STARTED INTERMITTENTLY ILLUMINATING ALONG WITH AN AUDIBLE CHIME SOUNDING WHEN EVER I TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL. DRIVING STRAIGHT AHEAD THE LIGHT WOULD GO OUT. AS OF TODAY, THE LIGHT STAYS ON CONTINUOUSLY. AFTER CHECKING WITH POSTS ON JK-FORUM.COM (FORUM RELATED TO 2007+ JEEP WRANGLERS) I FOUND THAT THERE IS ON GOING ISSUE WITH THE CLOCKSPRING IN THE STEERING WHEEL AREA. MULTIPLE PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE SAME SYMPTOMS THAT MY VEHICLE HAS EXHIBITED. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A SAFETY CONCERN ON A PART/DESIGN THAT CHRYSLER HAS BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH FOR YEARS. I HAVE SEEN POSTS THAT PEOPLE HAVE PAID UPWARDS OF $500 TO HAVE THIS ISSUE FIXED. I BELIEVE THAT THIS SHOULD BE A TSB AND REPAIRED FREE OF CHARGE, OR EVEN A RECALL SINCE IT INVOLVES THE AIRBAG SAFETY SYSTEM. MY VEHICLE IS A JEEP WRANGLER, 2 DOOR, 4X4, LEFT HAND DRIVE.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY @ ROUGHLY 55 MPH, MY 2009 JEEP WRANGLER HIT A SMALL BUMP IN THE ROAD. MY STEERING WHEEL BEGAN VIOLENTLY SHAKING SIDE TO SIDE. I IMMEDIATELY PUSHED ON THE BRAKE AND TRIED TO SAFELY SLOW THE VEHICLE WITHOUT CAUSING THE VEHICLE BEHIND ME TO CRASH INTO ME. I PULLED-OVER TO THE SHOULDER. THIS VIBRATION REFERRED TO AS "DEATH WOBBLE" OCCURS EACH AND EVERY TIME I AM TRAVELING BETWEEN 55 AND 60 MPH AND, I BRAKE OR HIT A BUMP IN THE ROAD. IT IS AN AWFUL SENSATION. *TR
GAS COMES OUT WHILE FUELING THE JEEP. THE GAS SPILLS ALL OVER THE SIDE OF THE JEEP AND IS CAUSING A HAZARDOUS CONDITION. IT DOES IT EVERY TIME I FUEL THE JEEP AT THE GAS STATION. IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT GAS STATION I GO TO. IT DOES IT ALL THE TIME. *TR
VIOLENT SHAKING OF FRONT END AT HIGHWAY SPEED VEHICLE IS ALL OEM NOT MODIFIED ALIGNMENT AND TIRES OK STARTED TO SHAKE STERRING WHEEL MOVING 1/2" UP/DOWN DIFFICULT TO HOLD AND STEER TO SIDE OF ROAD NEEDED TO STOP TO GET THE VIBRATIONS TO END HAS OCCURED ON TWO OTHER OCASSIONS STILL UNDER WARRANTY DEALER CLAIMS NO KNOWLEDGE OF "DEATH WOBBLE" PROBLEMS REFERED TO IN SEVERAL JEEP BLOGS. *TT
WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 55-60 MPH MY JEEP HAS STARTED TO VIOLENTLY SHAKE AND SHUDDER AFTER HITTING A BUMP. IT WILL ONLY STOP SHAKING AFTER PULLING OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND SLOWING DOWN TO 15-20 MPH OR STOPPING ALL TOGETHER. THE DAY IT STARTED WE WERE TAKING A TRIP TO NEW ORLEANS AND IT HAPPENED 6 OR 7 TIMES IN LESS THAN 100 MILES. I WILL BE TAKING IT IN TO THE DEALER IN THE MORNING, BUT AFTER A QUICK SEARCH OF THE NHTSA DATABASE IT SEEM THIS HAS BEEN A REGULAR OCCURRENCE AND RECURRENCE WITH JEEPS FOR MANY YEARS. LUCKILY WE WERE ON A SECONDARY HIGHWAY WHEN THIS OCCURRED AND NOT ON A MAJOR INTERSTATE AT 70-75 MPH (YET). THE WIFE IS NOW TERRIFIED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AND I'M NOT TO COMFORTABLE WITH IT AT THIS POINT. TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE WE'RE BEING STATIONED OVERSEAS AND PLANNED ON LETTING OUR SON IN COLLEGE USE THE VEHICLE WHICH DOESN'T SEEM LIKE A GREAT OPTION AT THIS POINT. WE'VE ALSO NOTICED, FOR THE PAST FEW WEEKS, THE MANUAL TRANSMISSION WILL JUMP OUT OF 1ST GEAR WHEN TAKING OFF. I LOOKED FORWARD TO OWNING A JEEP 4-DOOR FOR SOME TIME AND THIS IS RATHER DISAPPOINTING AND I WOULDN'T HAVE EVEN CONSIDERED BUYING IT IF I HAD BEEN TOLD THIS WOULD HAPPEN, ESPECIALLY WITH LESS THAN 20,000 MILES ON IT, NONE OF WHICH ARE OFF-ROADING MILES. I BELIEVE JEEP SHOULD HAVE TO WARN IT'S POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS IF THEY DO NOT WANT TO BOTHER FIXING AN OBVIOUS DESIGN FLAW AND SHOULD HAVE TO REMOVE ALL THEIR "TRAIL RATED" BADGES FROM ALL VEHICLES. IT'S NO WONDER CHRYSLER IS HAVING FINANCIAL TROUBLES SINCE THEY CAN'T MAKE A 4X4 THAT CAN HANDLE A BUMP.
VEHICLE SHAKES UNCONTROLLABLY AROUND 55 OR WHEN I HIT A BUMB , TOOK THE JEEP TWO THE GARAGE AND EXPLAIN WHAT WAS GOING ON AND WAS TOLD IT WAS THE TIRES SO BOUGHT NEW TIRES AND WASN'T THE PROBLEM , I LOOKED UP THE DEATH WOBBLE AND SEEN MANY PEOPLE WITH JEEPS HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AND JEEP CHRYSLER WON'T DO A RECALL AND THEY SHOULD BECAUSE THIS CAN VERY MUCH CAUSE AN ACCIDENT WHEN YOU HAVE NO CONTROL , THIS IS LEFT UP TO THE OWNERS WHOM THOUGHT THEY BOUGHT A GOOD PRODUCT TO FIGURE OUT AND PAY TO FIX A PROBLEM THAT JEEP CHRYSLER SHOULD OF FIXED IN THE FIRST PLACE BUT IT'S ALL ABOUT PROFIT AND NOT SAFETY !!!
WHEN PUTTING GAS IN THE TANK, GASOLINE SPRAYS OUT OF THE FILLER TUBE AND SPLASHES GAS ON ME, THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND ONTO THE GROUND. THIS OCCURS EVERYTIME I FILL THE TANK. I HAVE TRIED DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS AND THE PROBLEM STILL OCCURS. THE FIRST COUPLE OF TIMES THIS HAPPENED, GASOLINE HAD SPRAYED OUT OF THE FILLER TUBE AND ONTO ME AND MY CLOTHES. NOW WHEN I FILL THE TANK, I MUST STAND UPWIND AND AWAY FROM THE FILLER TUBE TO AVOID GETTING SPRAYED WITH GAS. THIS PROBLEM NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED! THE SAME DEFECT WAS REPORTED IN THE 2007 & 2008 JEEPS. IT WOULD APPEAR THAT THE SAME DEFECT IS NOW BEING REPORTED MULTIPLE TIMES FOR THE 2009 MODEL. GASOLINE THAT IS SPRAYED ONTO PEOPLE AND THE GROUND IS A FIRE HAZARD! I REFUSE TO LET MY WIFE AND KIDS PUT GAS IN THE JEEP, IN FEAR THAT THEY WILL BE SOAKED IN GASOLINE. I HAVE CONTACTED MY LOCAL JEEP DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT NO RECALL AND NO SAFETY BULLETINS HAVE BEEN ISSUED FOR THE 2009 MODEL. ANY ASSISTANCE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. *TR

THE FAILURE OCCURRED THREE TIMES INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FILLER NECK VALVE WOULD SPEW GASOLINE WHEN ATTEMPTING TO REFUEL. IN FEB 2011. I STARTED GETTING FUEL SPITTING BACK WHEN FILLING MY JEEP. TRIED 5 DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS OVER THE COURSE OF A MONTH. ALL WITH THE SAME RESULTS. TOOK IT INTO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP. THE GEAR SHIFT FREQUENTLY POPS OUT OF 1ST GEAR WHILE STARTING FROM A STANDSTILL. VEHICLE HAS 28,000 MILES ON IT, ISSUE HAD BEGUN AT ABOUT 16-18K. IT BEGAN AS A SPORADIC ISSUE AND HAS BECOME MORE FREQUENT, APPROX 1-2 TIMES PER MONTH. ON THE SERVICE VISIT 1/20/2011, DEALERSHIP WAS OF NO HELP AS THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND NO REPAIR OR ADVICE WAS GIVEN. VEHICLE WILL BE OUT OF WARRENTY IN APPROX 8000K. THIS COMMON ISSUE WILL THEN BE ON THE HANDS OF THE OWNER. IT IS ACTUALLY MORE OF A SAFETY ISSUE AS THERE IS NO WARNING WHEN IT'LL POP OUT OF GEAR AS ONE PULLS INTO THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC AND THEN SUDDENLY BECOMES IMMOBILE POSING A SERIOUS T-BONE POTENTIAL. OCTOBER 30 2010 I PURCHASED A SECOND HAND JEEP WRANGLER YEAR MODEL 2009. IN THE SPAN ON ONE WEEK I HAVE TWICE EXPERIENCED WHAT IS REFERRED ON MANY FORUMS AND WEB PAGES ON THE INTERNET AS "DEATH WOBBLE". MY FIRST EXPERIENCE WITH THIS WAS AT 55MPH WHILE CROSSING RAILROAD TRACKS. AFTER CROSSING THE RAILROAD TRACKS THE FRONT END OF MY MOTOR VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHAKE FROM LEFT TO RIGHT IN A VERY VIOLENT MANNER THIS FORCED ME TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD OUT OF CONCERNS FOR SAFETY. THE SECOND INCIDENT OCCURRED THREE DAYS LATER WHILE TRAVELING AT 65 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY. I HIT A BUMP IN THE ROAD WHICH AGAIN CAUSED THE FRONT OF MY VEHICLE TO SHAKE IN SUCH A VIOLENT MANNER THAT THE TIRES WERE CHIRPING AND I WAS FORCED TO COME TO ALMOST A COMPLETE STOP TO BRING THE VEHICLE SAFELY UNDER MY CONTROL. THIS VEHICLE IS NOT MODIFIED IN ANY WAY,TRACKS STRAIGHT GOING DOWN THE ROAD AND HAS TIRES ON IT WHICH WOULD BE CONSISTENT WITH THE 21,500 MILES REFLECTED ON THE ODOMETER. *TR
