I WAS GOING AROUND 65 MPH ON THE FREEWAY AND I HIT A POTHOLE, MY JEEP STARTED TO "DEATH WOBBLE". IT STATED TO VIOLENTLY SHAKE AND VIBRATE ALMOST PULLING THE STEERING WHEEL OUT OF MY HAND. I SLOWED DOWN TO UNDER 45 MPH AND IT STOPPED. THE VIOLENT SHAKING LASTED FOR ABOUT 6-10 SECONDS. I JUST PURCHASED THE JEEP 2 DAYS AGO. IT IS COMPLETELY STOCK WITH THE FACTORY TIRES AND THE PRESSURE IN THEM WAS FINE. IT WAS ALSO NOT COLD, THE HIGH AT THE TIME WAS 97 DEGREES.
WOBBLE - SHIMMY WHILE HITTITNG A SMALL BUMP AT SPEED 50MPH I NOTICED THE STEERING DAMPER ON MY WRANGLER JL WAS INSTALLED INCORRECTLY - OTHERS SHOULD BE TOLD ABOUT THIS ISSUE - I INSTALLED A NEW FOX SHOCK AT MY EXSPENSE - PROBLEM HAS NOT HAPPENED AGAIN
WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND WE HIT A BUMP OR ANY DEFORMITY ON THE ROAD THE JEEP WOULD START TO WOBBLE UNCONTROLLABLY IT STARTED SMALL AT FIRST BUT IT SEEMS TO BE GETTING WORST AND WE ONLY HAD THE JEEP FOR 6 MONTHS MY WIFE IS REALLY SCARE
SAME AS ALL THE OTHER COMPLAINTS, STEERING HAS TO CONSTANTLY BE CORRECTED . WANDERING ALL OVER THE ROAD . 19 LESS THAN 500 MILES
EXCESSIVE STEERING WHEEL PLAY, CAN'T CONTROLLER STRAIGHT, NEED TO MUCH INPUT LEFT AND RIGHT TO TRY TO GO STRAIGHT
VEHICLE BEGINS TO WONDER BADLY BEGINNING AT ABOUT 40 MPH, CAN GET SCARY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. WE OWNED A 2016 JK AND IT DIDN'T HAVE THIS ISSUE. UNSAFE AND UNHAPPY.
THE STEERING FEELS VERY LOOSE GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, WANDERS ALL OVER THE PLACE.
THE VEHICLE CANNOT BE DRIVEN STRAIGHT, WITHOUT CONTINUOUS SMALL ADJUSTMENTS. THE STEERING WHEEL DOES NOT RETURN TO THE CENTER AFTER THE SMALL ADJUSTMENT SO AN ADDITIONAL ONE IS NEEDED TO KEEP IN THE LANE. ZIG ZAGGING. IT FEELS UNSAFE
THE STEERING WHEEL HAS 1.5-2.5 INCHES OF PLAY, THIS MAKES IT VERY HARD TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE IN A STRAIGHT LINE. IT IS REALLY BAD WHEN DRIVING ON INTERSTATES IN WINDY CONDITIONS. YOU CAN SEE THE IMPUT SHAFT TO THE STEERING GEARBOX TURN, WITH NO OUTPUT
THE STEERING IS LOOSE, WHEN DRIVING ON A FREEWAY AT SPEEDS OVER 60 MPH THE STEERING IS VERY SLOPPY AND THE VEHICLE "WANDERS" INSIDE THE LANE SIDE TO SIDE AS YOU HAVE TO CONTINUALLY CORRECT IT. THIS IS UNSAFE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2019 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE PANEL LOCATED BEHIND THE PASSENGER DOOR (ALSO CALLED THE SOFT TOP) ABPRUPTLY DETACHED AND RELEASED INTO TRAFFIC. THE PANEL FAILURE CAUSED THE VEHICLE'S CABIN TO BE EXPOSED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES OR A CRASH DUE TO THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LARCHMONT CHRYSLER, JEEP, DODGE (2533 BOSTON POST ROAD, LARCHMONT NY, 10538 (914) 636-3030) AND THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY WOULD ORDER THE REPLACEMENT PART. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 59750760. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,500.
VEHICLE'S STEERING IS TOO LOOSE, VEHICLE WANDERS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND NEEDS CONSTANT CORRECTION TO KEEP THE VEHICLE IN THE LANE AND STRAIGHT. OVERALL, I FEEL THE VEHICLE IS NOT 100% SAFE TO BE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY.
THE STEERING WHEEL IS "LOOSE" AND REQUIRES EXCESSIVE MOVEMENT BEFORE ANY NOTICEABLE EFFECT IN VEHICLE DIRECTION. THIS HAPPENS AT ALL SPEEDS. VEHICLE DRIFTS/WANDERS (DOES NOT DRIVE STRAIGHT) AT FREEWAY SPEEDS (50+ MPH). VERY DIFFICULT TO STAY IN LANE ON THE FREEWAY!
BRAND NEW VEHICLE, NOW HAS 200 MILES. FROM BEGINNING, IT TRACKS TO THE RIGHT WHEN IN MOTION. DEALER SAID ALIGNMENT IS PERFECT, THEY CROSS ROTATED TIRES, ARE IN PROCESS OF TRYING TO FIGURE IT OUT, BUT I SUSPECT IT MAY BE THE ELECTRONIC ASSIST STEERING INPUTTING RIGHT STEER FOR SOME REASON. HAVE HEARD MANY COMPLAIN ABOUT STEERING BOX ISSUES WITH JEEP JL WRANGLERS, UNKNOWN IF THIS IS RELATED TO THAT.
STEERING WOBBLES AND DRIFTS VIOLENTLY AT SPEEDS OVER 60 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY. THERE HAS ALSO BEEN A WATER LEAK UNDER THE DRIVERS SIDE STEERING COLUMN THAT TWICE NOW THE DEALER HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIX, ALL WIRING UNDER THE STEERING WHEEL IS WET AFTER A RAIN AS WELL AS PUDDLES OF WATER ON FLOOR MAT.THIS CAR IS A LEMON
I JUST EXPERIENCED THE DEATH WOBBLE ON A HIGHWAY IN COLUMBUS OHIO. I WAS DRIVING AROUND 65 AND HIT A SMALL BUMP AND THE CAR STARTED SHAKING VIOLENTLY. IT DID NOT STOP AFTER ABOUT 60 SECONDS SO I PULLED OVER TO THE BERM. IT SCARED ME TO DEATH. I FELT LIKE I HAD NO CONTROL. I STARTED BACK UP AND MADE IT SAFELY TO MY DESTINATION. I PLAN TO CALL LOCAL DEALER SINCE I AM AWAY FROM WHERE I PURCHASED IT ORIGINALLY.

INSPECTION HAS LED TO NOTICING ALL THE PLAY COMING FROM THE STEERING GEARBOX ITSELF. THIS HAPPENS AT ALL SPEEDS, HOWEVER THE MOST DANGEROUS IS BY FAR STRAIGHT HIGH-SPEED HIGHWAY DRIVING. DEALER HAS BEEN HONEST AND SAYS THIS IS A COMMON COMPLAINT. HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO IDENTIFY A GUARANTEED FIX BASED ON EXPERIENCE WITH OTHER CARS TO DATE.*DT *JS

THE VEHICLE WANDERS AND DRIFTS WHEN DRIVING AT HIGHER SPEEDS (60 MPH +). IT IS SLOW TO RESPOND TO STEERING INPUTS AND THEN IS QUICK TO OVER-CORRECT. DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE IS NOT ONLY EXHAUSTING IT'S FRIGHTENING. IT TAKES 100% OF YOUR ATTENTION TO JUST KEEP YOUR PLACE IN YOUR LANE. THE JEEP HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP THREE TIMES AND THEY HAVE REPLACED/UPGRADED THE STEERING STABILIZER TWICE WHICH HAD ZERO EFFECT ON ITS DRIVABILITY. THE DEALER ACTS LIKE THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE, FCA IS INVOLVED BUT HASN'T ACCOMPLISHED ANYTHING. THE VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. *TR
BACK UP CAMERA BLACK SCREEN WHEN IN REVERSE. BACK CAMERA FAILING
2019 JEEP WRANGLER 2DR. JEEP CAN NOT HOLD A STRAIGHT LINE. REQUIRES CONSTANT CORRECTION INPUT. WHEN CORRECTING IT WILL START TO TRAVEL IN THE CORRECTED DIRECTION AND WILL CONTINUE TO TRAVEL IN THAT DIRECTION UNTIL CORRECTING IN THE OTHER DIRECTION. HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DIEALERSHIP 1X AND TOLD THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. TECHNICIAN COMMENTS ON THE PAPERWORK "VEHICLE DROVE FINE AND NOT WONDER ALL OVER THE ROAD". AFTER GETTING MINE BACK, TEST DROVE ANOTHER 2019 AND DID NOT EXPERIENCE THE SAME ISSUE. IT WAS ABLE TO HOLD A STRAIGHT LINE WITH LITTLE TO NO INPUT. HAVE DROVE OTHER NEW JEEPS THAT DID NOT HAVE THE WONDER ISSUE. NOTE THE OTHER JEEPS HAVE HAD MICHELIN OR GOODYEAR TIRES. MINE HAS BRIDGESTONE. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THIS IS JUST THE WAY THEY DRIVE. I HAVE OWNED 7 JEEP WRANGLERS AND NONE HAVE DROVE LIKE THIS. MY WIFE HAS A 2018 AND DOES NOT HAVE THE WANDERING ISSUE. THIS HAPPENS AT ALL SPEEDS.
THIS VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED NEW FROM A DEALER 5 HOURS FROM MY HOME .THE DRIVE HOME INCLUDED SOME 2 LANE HIGHWAYS BUT MOSTLY INTERSTATE. CONTROLLING THE JEEP AND KEEPING IT ON THE ROAD HOME WAS AN EXHAUSTING AND CONCENTRATED EFFORT. THE STEERING WAS EVERYWHERE AND I'M SURE I LOOKED LIKE A DRUNK DRIVER TO MOST PEOPLE. TODAY I HAVE DRIVEN THE JEEP TO MY LOCAL DEALER ONLY TO BE TOLD BY THE FEMALE SERVICE WRITER THAT THE JEEP WILL LEARN MY DRIVING AFTER ABOUT 1000 MILES .SHE STATED SHE KNOWS THIS BECAUSE SHE HAS THIS SAME STYLE JEEP. THERE IS NO WAY THIS IS NORMAL STEERING .
ON 2 SEPARATE OCCASIONS, AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, MY 2019 JEEP WRANGLER JL STEERING LOCKED AND MADE IT VERY DIFFICULT/ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN IN WHICH I CAM E VERY CLOSE TO CRASHING INTO THE SIDE WALL 2X. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER ON 7/24/19 AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE "WERE BOLTS LOOSE" AND WAS CAUSING THE ISSUE AND SHOULD BE FINE B/C THY TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE FOR ~40 MILES. THE STEERING LOCKED AGAIN ON 8/7/19. I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN FOR THE FIX AND THEY CANNOT REPLICATE "THE CODE" AND DO NOT HAVE A FIX FOR IT. I HAVE CONTACTED JEEP CUSTOMER SERVICE AND I'M NOT GETTING THE ATTENTION NEEDED FOR SUCH A CRITICAL ISSUE. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE MY CAR AND LOOKING FOR A REPLACEMENT VEHICLE FROM JEEP BUT NOT RECEIVING TIMELY COOPERATION. LASTLY, ON 8/4/19, AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, MY WRANGLER PERFORMED THE DREADED "DEATH WOBBLE." THE DEALER IS CHANGING THE VEHICLE DAMPER BUT UPON MY RESEARCH, A DAMPER ONLY "MASKS" THE ISSUE AND THERE S A BIGGER ISSUE AT PLAY. FOR REFERENCE, MY VEHICLE WAS BOUGHT BRAND NEW IN MARCH 2019 AND ONLY HAS ~1,400 MILES ON IT AND HAS NEVER BEEN OFF-ROADED. LASTLY, ALL MODIFICATIONS TO THE VEHICLE ARE UNDER WARRANTY AND WERE INSTALLED BY THE DEALERSHIP (EG. 33" TIRES)
STEERING WHEEL HAS "DEAD SPOT" IN THE CENTER ALLOWING WHEELS TO FREE STEER A CERTAIN NUMBER OF DEGREES BEFORE STEERING WHEEL ENGAGES AND TURNS THE WHEELS. THIS CAUSES DRIVER TO OVER-CORRECT TO KEEP VEHICLE IN THE LANE. ESP NOTICEABLE AT SPEED OVER 45 MPH DRIFTING FROM ONE SIDE OF LANE TO OTHER AND WHEN DIRECTIONS CHANGE RAPIDLY LIKE IN AN S CURVE. ALSO WHEN TURNING CORNERS STEERING WHEEL AND WHEELS WILL NOT RETURN TO CENTER. RETURNS AS FAR AS THE DEAD SPOT THEN WILL NOT CENTER WITHOUT LOTS OF DRIVER INPUT. *LN CONSUMER STATED SHORT VIDEO JEEP DRIVING DOWN HIGHWAY OF ME MOVING MY STEERING WHEEL SIDE TO SIDE WITH THE JEEP NOT TURNING AT ALL. THIS IS WORSE WITH SPEED AND I CAN TAKE VIDEOS FROM ALL ANGLES.*JB
VERY LOOSE STEERING. IT APPEARS A RECALL HAS BEEN COMPLETED ON MY VEHICLE (CHRYSLER V41) TO FIX THIS ISSUE, BUT THE ISSUE IS STILL EVIDENT. STEERING WHEEL HAS TOO MUCH PLAY IN IT WHEN DRIVING, ESPECIALLY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS.
THE VEHICLE HAS EXCESSIVE STEERING WANDER WHEN DRIVING ABOVE 20 MPH AND GETS WORSE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS MAKING THE VEHICLE VERY UNSAFE. THE VEHICLE WILL NOT STAY TRACKING IN 1 LANE WITHOUT CONSTANT CORRECTION OF THE STEERING WHEEL. (PURCHASED JEEP BRAND NEW & HAVE BEEN BACK TO THE DEALER 2X AND IT STILL IS NOT FIXED)
STEERING IS VERY LOOSE. JEEP WANDERS ON ROAD REQUIRING CONSTANT STEERING CORRECTIONS. WHEN DRIVING AS LOWER SPEEDS ON BACK ROADS, KEEPING THE JEEP IN PROPER LANE BECOMES A CHORE. I HAVE TAKEN THE JEEP TO KELLER BROTHERS JEEP IN LITITZ, PA TWICE FOR THIS ISSUE AND BOTH TIMES HAVE BEEN TOLD THEY FEEL THE ISSUE WHEN TAKING THE JEEP ON A TEST DRIVE BUT JEEP HAS NO TSB OR RECALL FOR THE ISSUE THEREFORE THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING TO FIX THE ISSUE. *TR
STEERING WANDERS ESPECIALLY AT 50+ MPH. HARD TO MAINTAIN JEEP IN A STRAIGHT LINE IN LANE. OVER CORRECTING STEERING, DOES NOT FEEL SAFE ON THE HIGHWAY.
THE VEHICLE WON'T TRACK STRAIGHT WHILE DRIVING - IT WANDERS CONSISTENTLY . HAVE HAD ALIGNMENT CHECKED . CHRYSLER SERVICE SAYS THEY CAN'T SHOW ANY THING WRONG
THE STEERING ON THIS JEEP IS DANGEROUS. IT WONDERS ALL OVER THE ROAD. I HAVE TO KEEP BOTH HANDS ON THE WHEEL AT ALL TIME WITH A DEATH GRIP. I FEEL EXTREMELY UNSAFE DRIVING THIS JEEP. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP 4 TIMES NOW AND IT HAS NOT IMPROVED. JEEP IS NOW TELLING ME THAT THERE IS NOTHING ELSE THEY CAN DO AND I AM JUST STUCK WITH IT.
THE STEERING HAS SIGNIFICANT SLACK/PLAY WHICH CAUSES THE JEEP TO WANDER REQUIRING CONSTANT CORRECTIONS. THIS IS ESPECIALLY CONCERNING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AROUND TURNS BUT IS STILL EVIDENT AT LOW SPEEDS.
JEEP HAS VERY LOOSE STEERING. HAVE TO CONSTANTLY OVERCORRECT TO STAY IN THE LANE. DEAD SPOT IN THE CENTER AND HAVE TO TURN IT TOO MUCH TO STEER. WON'T RETURN TO CENTER AFTER TURN. LOTS OF PLAY WHEN DRIVING, PLAY GETS WORSE AT SPEED. I CAN MOVE THE WHEEL BACK AND FORTH AT SPEED WITH LITTLE EFFECT ON STEERING. WHEN I BRAKE THE VEHICLE DIVES TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT DEPENDING ON THE ROAD BECAUSE THE STEERING WHEEL DOES NOT FEEL CONNECTED TO THE WHEELS. JEEP DEALERS SAY THAT IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE LIKE THAT BUT IT IS VERY DIFFERENT FROM ANY OTHER 2019 JEEP WRANGLERS THAT I HAVE TEST DRIVEN. ONE DEALER SAID THAT DURING THE ROAD TEST, IT DROVE AS INTENDED YET THEY DIDN'T PUT ANY MILES ON THE JEEP. THIS HAS BEEN DOING THIS SINCE I BOUGHT THE JEEP IN JULY 2019. I HAVE VIDEO BUT IT IS TOO BIG TO UPLOAD TO THE SITE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2019 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD POPPING NOISE AND THE ENTIRE CONSOLE SCREEN FAILED. THE CONTACT STOPPED AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, BUT THE ENTIRE CONSOLE SCREEN STILL FAILED TO FUNCTION. THE CONTACT WAS STILL ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT CALLED CHERRY HILL DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM (1708 W, NJ-70, CHERRY HILL, NJ 08002, (856) 471-1058) AND THEY ASKED WHEN SHE COULD BRING IN THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER THE VEHICLE BEING PARKED FOR TWO DAYS AT AN AIRPORT LOT, THE VEHICLE WAS LATER STARTED AND THE ENTIRE CONSOLE SCREEN FAILED AND THE POWER STEERING SEIZED. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE VEERED OFF THE ROAD AND CRASHED INTO A TELEPHONE POLE. THE CONTACT'S SON WAS MEDICALLY CHECKED OUT WITH AN ICE PACK TO THE FACE BUT NO AMBULANCE SERVICES WERE NEEDED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE WAS DAMAGED AND IT WAS TOWED WITH THE REAR WHEELS BEING LOCKED MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO TOW TO A TOW YARD. THE MANUFACTURER FILED A CASE AND WOULD HAVE AN INVESTIGATOR INSPECT THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED IT WOULD TAKE TWO TO FOUR WEEKS UNTIL THEY HAVE SOME FINDINGS ON THE ISSUE AND HAD NOT OFFERED A LOANER VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 848.
BOUGHT CAR BRAND NEW 3 DAYS AGO AND NOTICED THE STEERING HAS A LOT OF PLAY ROOM AT SPEEDS OVER 60, VERY DIFFICULT TO STAY STRAIGHT IN THE LANE. WHEN GOING AT SLOWER SPEEDS SEEMS FINE.
THE MODERN HEAD RESTRAINT SYSTEM IS EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE FOR THOSE WHO DO NOT EXCESSIVELY RECLINE THEIR CAR SEATS. I PERSONALLY DESIRE MID AND UPPER BACK SUPPORT, ESPECIALLY DURING IMPACT OF A REAR END COLLISION. THE PROTRUDING ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINT MAKES PROPER BACK SUPPORT IMPOSSIBLE. THESE HEAD RESTRAINT SYSTEMS SHOULD BE ADJUSTABLE FOR THOSE WHO USE THEIR CAR SEATS PROPERLY AND DO NOT RECLINE THEM EXCESSIVELY.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE FORWARD, THE STEERING WHEEL HAS SLOP IN IT. I CANNOT KEEP IT STRAIGHT. I'M CONSTANTLY HAVING TO CORRECT THE WHEEL. I HAVE RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP 3 TIMES AND THEY ARE NOT FIXING IT. THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED NEW AND NOW HAS 1300 MILES ON IT. IT IS VERY UNSAFE TO DRIVE. IT FEELS LIKE DRIVING AN OLD FARM TRACTOR.
PURCHASED VECHILE NEW WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT SPEEDS 50 MPH AND OVER, THERE IS TO MUCH PLAY IN THE STEERING. YOU HAVE TO CONSTANTLY CORRECT THE STEERING, TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THEY SAID THEY FOUND THE ALIGNMENT PIN UPSIDE DOWN AND CORRECTED. DROVE THE VECHILE HOME. BUT ONCE YOU GET ON THE HIGHWAY AT SPEEDS OVER 50 MPH IT STILL DOES THE SAME THING. VECHILE ONLY HAS 150 MILES ON IT. HAVE MANY PEOPLE WITH THE SAME COMPLAINT.
DEAD SPACE IN THE STEERING WHEEL, 2' OF PLAY IN THE WHEEL WHERE INPUT IS PUT IN AND NO RESPONSE. LOOSE STEERING AND DRIFT WHILE DRIVING. UNABLE TO MAINTAIN A STRAIGHT LINE WITHOUT CONSTANT STEERING CORRECTION. VERY NOTICEABLE AT FREEWAY SPEEDS AS THE VEHICLE WILL WANT TO DRIFT LEFT OR RIGHT IMMEDIATELY AFTER CORRECTING STEERING. CONSTANTLY HAVE TO GIVE STEERING INPUTS, SAWING AT THE WHEEL. OCCURS ALL THE TIME. MORE NOTICEABLE AT HIGHER SPEEDS. FEELS UNSAFE TO OPERATE. JEEP CLAIMS THIS IS NORMAL AND HOW THE VEHICLE WAS DESIGNED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2019 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, ATTEMPTED TO SLOW DOWN WITH THE FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE RPM'S INCREASED AND THE VEHICLE SPONTANEOUSLY ACCELERATED, STRIKING THE VEHICLE IN FRONT. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON THREE OCCASIONS. THE POLICE WAS PRESENT, BUT NO REPORT WAS FILED. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE DEALER HUFFINES CHRYSLER/JEEP (1024 S STEMMONS FWY, LEWISVILLE, TX 75067) THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO REPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 800.
VEHICLE STEERING FEELS LOOSE AND WANDERS. STEERING WHEEL HAS DEAD SPOT AT CENTER WHERE STEERING INPUT HAS NO EFFECT ON VEHICLE DIRECTION. IT IS ABSOLUTELY UNSAFE TO DRIVE VEHICLE ON TIGHT NARROW ROAD AS CONSTANT STEERING CORRECTION IS REQUIRED TO KEEP VEHICLE STRAIGHT.
THE STEERING WHEEL IS NOT STRAIGHT AND STEERS TO LEFT. KIND OF ANNOYING WHEN IT IS A BRAND NEW VEHICLE.
WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE 7/2019. IT WAS A TRANSFER FROM ANOTHER DEALERSHIP AND WE DID NOT TEST DRIVE THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE. WE HAVE TEST DRIVEN THE SAME MODEL BEFORE AND HAD NO ISSUES. ON OUR WAY HOME, WE NOTICED THAT THE CAR HAS VERY LOOSE STEERING. THERE IS "GIVE" APPROXIMATELY 2 INCHES TO EITHER SIDE AND THE VEHICLE IS DIFFICULT TO KEEP IN LANE. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE JEEP SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. THEY CLAIM THE PCM IS UP TO DATE AND THE STABILIZERS ARE NEW. THE DEALERSHIP SAYS THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. THIS VEHICLE, IN MY OPINION, WITH THE LOOSE STEERING IS POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE. SEARCH THROUGH MULTIPLE JEEP WRANGLER JL FOURMS SHOW MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME ISSUE.

I OWNED A 2016 JEEP WRANGLER WITHOUT STEERING ISSUES, SO THE 'IT'S A JEEP THING' ARGUMENT DOESN'T FLY WITH ME; THERE IS A SERIOUS UNSAFE PROBLEM WITH THE STEERING ON MY 2019 JEEP WRANGLER JL UNLIMITED! I WAS DRIVING ON THE PENNSYLVANIA TURNPIKE (LEGAL POSTED SPEED LIMIT 70MPH), I WAS ONLY ABLE TO DRIVE 55MPH SAFELY AND WAS FORCED TO EXIT AT THE FIRST AVAILABLE EXIT BECAUSE I WAS IN FEAR OF CRASHING DUE TO THE NEED TO CONSTANTLY CORRECT THE VAGUE STEERING. HINDSIGHT, I SHOULD HAVE KEPT MY 2016 WRANGLER! THE 2019 WRANGLER DRIFTS TO THE LEFT AND RIGHT, ESPECIALLY, NOTICEABLE AT 55MPH OR ABOVE. I AM A SEASONED DRIVER AND HAVE DRIVEN MANY DIFFERENT MAKES AND MODELS OF CARS AND MOTORCYCLES; I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED A TOTAL LACK OF TRUST IN A VEHICLE, UNTIL THIS 2019 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED.

ST. CHARLES CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM SOLD ME A BRAND NEW CAR AND THEN I DISCOVERED THERE WAS A RECALL ON IT, ISSUED A MONTH BEFORE PURCHASE. I WAS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH VEHICLE WANDERING AND LOOSE STEERING WHEEL WITH AT LEAST 2 INCHES OF GIVE. DIFFICULT TO MAINTAIN STRAIGHT DRIVING. CONSTANT STEERING CORRECTION NEEDED. IT IS IN FOR THE RECALL REPAIR TODAY, 13 DAYS AFTER PURCHASE. DEALER DID NOT TAKE CARE OF THIS RECALL NOR DID THEY INFORM ME OF IT WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE.
THE 2019 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED RUBICON HAS LOOSE STEERING WHICH CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO WANDER LEFT OR RIGHT WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT IN BOTH CITY AND INTERSTATE SCENARIOS. IT REQUIRES CONSTANT CORRECTION AND IF YOU HIT A BIG GUST OF WIND, IT'S VERY HARD TO CONTROL. I'VE HAD IT FOR JUST OVER 1 WEEK AND HAS APPROXIMATELY 800 MILES. I'VE LOWERED THE PSI IN ALL TIRES TO THE DOCUMENTED 37 PSI AND HAD THE STEERING WHEEL DAMPENER RECALL COMPLETED, BUT THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. I'VE TAKEN IT INTO A JEEP AUTHORIZED SERVICE CENTER AND THEY ADJUSTED THE TOE, BUT SAID THAT THE VEHICLE IS OPERATING AS DESIGNED EVEN WITH APPROXIMATELY 2" OF PLAY IN THE STEERING TO BOTH LEFT AND RIGHT AFTER ALL ADJUSTMENTS. WE TEST DROVE OTHER 2019 WRANGLERS ON THE LOT WHICH EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM. THEY CONTINUE TO CLAIM THIS IS A JEEP THING, BUT OTHERS HAVE REPORTED NO PROBLEMS WITH THEIR STEERING AND HAVE VIDEOS ONLINE SHOWING THEY ARE NOT CONSTANTLY CORRECTING. I ASKED THEM TO REPLACE THE TRACK BAR, DRAG LINKS, AND ENSURE ALL STEERING COMPONENTS ARE TIGHT AND ON SPEC, BUT THEY WILL NOT REPLACE ANY PARTS UNDER WARRANTY BECAUSE THEY SAID IT WILL NOT FIX THE ISSUE. THEY WILL REPLACE THE PARTS IF I PAY OUT OF POCKET.
IMMEDIATELY UPON DELIVERY BY DEALER, STEERING MALFUNCTIONED ON NEW 2019 JEEP WRANGLER. STEERING WHEEL HAD 3-4 INCHES OF PLAY TURNING TO EITHER RIGHT OR LEFT WHICH CAUSED 2019 JEEP WRANGLER TO WANDER AND MADE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO STEER ACCURATELY AND STAY IN LANE. PROBLEM IS WORSE ON HIGHWAY AND AT HIGHER SPEEDS. BROUGHT BACK TO DEALER WHERE PURCHASED TWICE AND TO TWO OTHER JEEP DEALERS. ALL TEST DRIVE VEHICLE AND ACKNOWLEDGED PROBLEM. LAST DEALER SAID ALL KNOWN RECALL REPAIRS HAD NOW BEEN COMPLETED AND ACKNOWLEDGED THAT PROBLEM PERSISTS AND VEHICLE IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. VEHICLE REMAINS AT THAT DEALER AFTER FOUR SEPARATE UNSUCCESSFUL ATTEMPTS BY DEALERS TO FIX PROBLEM. COMPLAINT FILED WITH FCA/JEEP AND AWAITING RESPONSE.

THERE IS A SERIOUS UNSAFE PROBLEM WITH THE STEERING ON MY 2019 JEEP WRANGLER JL UNLIMITED RUBICON! I WAS IN FEAR OF CRASHING DUE TO THE NEED TO CONSTANTLY CORRECT THE VAGUE STEERING. THE 2019 WRANGLER DRIFTS AND SEEMS TO OVER-CORRECT BOTH TO THE LEFT AND RIGHT. IT FEELS LIKE I'M ON A ROCKING BOAT.
STEERING HAS ABOUT A 2 INCH DEAD SPOT IN THE MIDDLE WHERE WHEN YOU TURN THE WHEEL AND THE STEERING DOES NOT RESPOND. IT ALSO HAS A "WANDERING" OVER THE ROAD THAT GETS AMPLIFIED WITH THE DEAD SPOT. YOU WIND UP CONSTANTLY DOING SMALL STEERING CORRECTIONS TO COMPENSATE AND IT GETS TIRING TO DO SO. FEEL LIKE YOU ARE WANDERING IN YOUR LANE EVEN THOUGH YOU ARE ON A STRAIGHT ROAD. BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP 3 TIMES FOR THIS AND STILL NO FIX. THEY'VE REPLACED THE STEERING GEAR BOX AND THE DAMPER (PER FCA RECALL). THE FIRST 2 TRIPS TO THE DEALER YIELDED THEM BASICALLY BLOWING ME OFF ANS STATED IT DRIVES AS DESIGNED. THAT'S NOT CORRECT, IT DOES NOT DRIVE CORRECTLY.
