WRANGLER SAHARA HAS APPX 3" OF PLAY IN THE STEERING EACH SIDE OF CENTER FROM SIDE TO SIDE BEFORE IT ENGAGES WHEEL MOVEMENT WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREETS. EVEN AT LOW SPEEDS OF 30 MPH YOU HAVE TO CONSTANTLY FIGHT AND CORRECT THE STEERING WHEEL LEFT/RIGHT BETWEEN THE 10 O'CLOCK AND 2 O'CLOCK HAND POSITION TO KEEP THE CAR STRAIGHT IN THE LANE OR IT WANDERS OUT OF LANE. PROBLEM IS WORSE AT 55 MPH+ ON A HIGHWAY AND FEELS UNSAFE TO DRIVE ABOVE 55 MPH. IT LOOKS AND FEELS LIKE I AM WEAVING IN THE LANE SIDE TO SIDE DOWN THE STREET. I AM WAITING TO GET PULLED OVER BY THE POLICE FOR SUSPICION OF DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE. VEHICLE IS BRAND NEW WITH ONLY 250 MILES ON ODOMETER. I HAVE OWNED OTHER JEEPS AND OWN AN 11 YEAR OLD WRANGLER THAT DOES NOT HAVE THIS ISSUE. IN 30+ YEARS OF DRIVING EVERY VEHICLE YOU CAN IMAGINE, I HAVE NEVER HAD A CAR WITH STEERING LIKE THIS. YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE TO CONSTANTLY MOVE THE STEERING WHEEL BACK AND FORTH TO SUCH A DEGREE TO MAINTAIN LANE POSITION. COMPLETELY UNSAFE. AN INVESTIGATION NEEDS TO STARTED SO JEEP WILL CORRECT THIS AND NOT GIVE PEOPLE THE RUN AROUND AT THE DEALER LIKE OTHERS ARE EXPERIENCING.
NEW VEHICLE WITH 1800 MILES. THERE IS A NOTICEABLE DEAD ZONE, 'PLAY', WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL IS CENTERED AND DRIVING STRAIGHT. ALSO, BECAUSE OF THE DEAD ZONE, THE VEHICLE DOES NOT SEEM TO BE ABLE TO DRIVE IN A STRAIGHT LINE MOST NOTABLE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE JEEP SERIOUSLY WANDERS ON STRAIGHT ROADS WITHOUT CONSTANT CORRECTION. STEERING WANDERS BACK AND FORTH AT ALL SPEEDS AND ON ALL ROADS.
PUSH BUTTON START WITH KEYLESS ENTRY. VEHICLE DOES NOT GIVE AUDIBLE WARNING WHEN YOU LEAVE THE VEHICLE RUNNING ON EXIT. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND COULD CAUSE DEATH IF PARKED IN YOUR HOME GARAGE. IT IS VERY EASY PUT THE GEARSHIFT IN PARK AND EXIT THE VEHICLE WITHOUT TURNING OFF THE ENGINE. (I HAVE DONE THIS TWICE WITHIN A 3 MONTH PERIOD) AN AUDIBLE WARNING ON EXIT, WHICH INDICATES THE MOTOR IS STILL RUNNING, WOULD PREVENT THIS FROM TAKING PLACE.
LOOSE STEERING/"DEAD SPOT" CAUSES THERE TO BE PLAY WHEN ATTEMPTING TO DRIVE STRAIGHT. THIS CAN CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO BE DIFFICULT TO MAINTAIN A STRAIGHT PATH. EVEN MORE PRONOUNCED AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. DEALERSHIPS DESCRIBE THE VEHICLE AS "OPERATING AS DESIGNED"
MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN EXPERIENCING VIBRATION SINCE THE VERY DAY I TOOK PURCHASE OF THE JEEP. THE VEHICLE HAS A CLINGING NOISE DURING STOP AND THEN ACCELERATION. IT SOUND LIKE A WORN OUT PISTON ISSUE.
STEERING WANDERS FROM THE FIRST TIME I TOOK POSITION OF THE VEHICLE. THE STEERING WOULD PULL TO ONE SIDE AND WHEN MAKE A LITTLE CORRECTION, IT WOULD PULL TO THE OTHER SIDE. THIS IS A CONSTANT PROBLEM. IT DIDN'T MATTER IF I WAS DRIVING AT 25 MPH OR 50 MPH. I THOUGHT IT WOULD IMPROVE THE MORE I DRIVE IT BUT IT DID NOT GET ANY BETTER. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN AT THE DEALER'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT FOUR TIMES. THE STEERING BOX WAS REPLACED ON THE THIRD TIME THAT WAS BROUGHT BACK TO THEM. THE PROBLEM HAD NOT BEEN CORRECTED. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN RETURNED BACK TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT SINCE DECEMBER 26, 2019. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY'RE WAITING FOR A TECH FROM FICA HOPEFULLY BY MID-FEBRUARY 2020. THE SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME THAT FICA ADVISED THEM THAT THEY'VE DONE ALL THEY CAN DO AND NOT TO TOUCH THE VEHICLE UNTIL A TECH FROM FICA CHECKS THE VEHICLE. I ADVISED THE MANAGER THAT THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND I WAS NOT TAKING IT BACK ON THE ROAD. SO THE VEHICLE IS SITTING AT THEIR PARKING LOT. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE FOR OVER 3 MONTHS SO FAR AND COUNTING.
JEEP HAS DEAD SPOT IN STEERING, ESPECIALLY AT HIGH SPEEDS WHICH MAKES IT WANDER ALL OVER THE ROAD. SUSPENSION AND LINKAGE SEEMS TIGHT SO IT SEEMS LIKE A ELECTRIC STEERING PROGRAMMING/CALIBRATION ISSUE. DEALER TELLS ME NOTHING IS WRONG. THEY ARE WRONG!
LOOSE STEERING, LOTS OF PLAY, WANDERING ALL OVER THE ROAD. TOOK THE JEEP BACK ONE WEEK AFTER I BOUGHT HER, DEALER LOOKED AT HER, ACKNOWLEDGED IT WAS DANGEROUS AND FORCED ME INTO A LOANER BECAUSE OF THE DANGER AND WOULDN'T LET ME TAKE TEH JEEP HOME. EVENTUALLY CHANGED THE POWER STEERING BOX. I PICKED IT UP AND IT STILL HAD EXCESSIVE PLAY IN THE STEERING WHEEL AND WAS WANDERING ALL OVER THE ROAD AND NEEDED CONSTANT CORRECTION. CALLED DEALER THEY CLAIMED IT WAS DRIVEN BY THE SHOP FOREMAN AND WAS NOW AS INTENDED. WHEN STATIONARY YOU CAN SEE THE EXCESSIVE PLAY IN THE STEERING WHEEL. WHEN IN MOTION, ESPECIALLY ON HIGHWAYS THE EXCESSIVE PLAY BECOMES SERIOUSLY DANGEROUS WHEN THE VEHICLE WANDERS BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO MAKE SHARP ADJUSTMENTS FAST WITH A NON RESPONSIVE STEERING WHEEL.
2019 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED MOAB JL - NO MODIFICATIONS, ALL STOCK, THE STEERING SEVERELY WANDERS. NOTICED AFTER, ABOUT 1500 MILES THE JEEP WILL DRIFT OR WANDER INTO OTHER LANES FOR NO APPARENT REASON. SOME TIME THE JEEP WOULD DRIVE STRAIGHT, OTHER TIMES NOT SO MUCH. THE VEHICLE IS HARD TO KEEP STRAIGHT WITH IN A SINGLE LANE. TOOK THE JEEP TO MY LOCAL DEALER AND THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG, EVEN WITH ALL THE JEEP TSB'S CONCERNED THAT COULD LOSE CONTROL OF VEHICLE AS IS WANDERS INTO OTHER LANES. NOTE: I HAD A 2017 JEEP UNLIMITED JK WITH NO STEERING ISSUES.
SINCE TAKING POSESSION OF THE JEEP I HAVE EXPERIENCED MAJOR STEERING WANDERING. I HAVE ALMOST GOTTEN IN AN ACCIDENT TWICE AS A RESULT ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY. THE TRUCK HAS BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES BUT ALL THEY DO IS TELL ME THERE IS NOTHING WRONG. I HAVE SPOKEN TO MANY OTHER JEEP OWNERS WHO ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUES. I AM FEARFUL FOR MY FAMILIES SAFETY AT THIS POINT. ACTUAL ISSUE DETAILS: THE STEERING WILL TURN RIGHT OR LEFT UNEXPECTEDLY. THERE IS EASILY 2 INCHES OF PLAY IN THE STEERING AS IT IS SO WHEN THE TRUCK WANDERS IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO KEEP IT STRAIGHT. THIS ISSUES IS MOST APPARENT ON THE HIGHWAY BUT YOU CAN FEEL IT AS YOU DRIVE AROUND TOWN.
I HAVE EXPERIENCED THE DEATH WOBBLE AFTER DRIVING OVER A BUMPY ROAD AT ABOUT 55 MPH. IN ADDITION, I HAVE EXPERIENCED WHAT I CALL WHEEL HOP WHEN HITTING VARIOUS BUMPS IN THE ROAD. I THOUGHT A MIGHT LOSE CONTROL OF THE CAR WHEN IT STARTED TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY BUT SLOWED DOWN AND PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I AM TAKING IT TO THE DEALER TOMORROW (JULY 18, 2019)
2019 JEEP WRANGLER RUBICON JL - NO MODIFICATIONS, ALL STOCK. STEERING ISSUES. I NOTICED AT ABOUT 250 MILES, THE JEEP WILL DRIFT IN TO OTHER LANES AT ANY GIVEN TIME FOR NO APPARENT REASON. TRYING TO CORRECT, CAUSES A WOBBLE. IT IS VERY EXHAUSTING AND FRIGHTENING JUST TRYING TO KEEP THE JEEP IN A SINGLE LANE GOING FORWARD AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WHILE DRIFTING AND CORRECTING. I TOOK THE JEEP TO MY LOCAL DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THERE WAS A NEW RECALL THAT CAME OUT JUST DAYS AGO. THE RECALL WAS FOR A NEW STEERING DAMPER. I DROVE IT FOR ABOUT A DAY AND ALL SEEMED FINE. NOW, THE JEEP IS BACK TO DRIFTING AGAIN, I THINK NOT AS BAD BUT I DO NOT HAVE MUCH TO COMPARE AS I AM NOW AT 750 MILES AND OWNED 2 WEEKS. I AM VERY CONCERNED THAT SOMEONE COULD GET VERY HURT WHEN THE JEEP DRIFTS IN TO OTHER LANES OR OFF THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I DID NOT BUY MY JEEP SO THAT I COULD USE IT OFF ROAD OR TO MODIFY. I BOUGHT IT BECAUSE I LIKED EXACTLY THE WAY IT WAS. I AM NOT INTERESTED IN SELLING, TRADING, OR USING THE "LEMON LAW". I AM STRONGLY URGING THE NHTSA PLEASE OPEN AN INVESTIGATION INTO THE STEERING ISSUES BEFORE PEOPLE START GETTING SERIOUSLY HURT.
WE ORDERED A BRAND NEW 2019 WRANGLER SAHARA TO OUR LIKING. I WAS SO EXCITED TO DRIVE IT HOME FROM OUR DEALERSHIP ABOUT AN HOUR AWAY FROM OUR HOME! THAT WAS UNTIL I ACTUALLY STARTED DRIVING IT . THERE IS A BIG DEAD SPOT IN THE STEERING AS YOU AND JEEP ALREADY HAVE BEEN MADE AWARE! IT'S ALL OVER BLOGS AND YOUR SITE. IT WAS A VERY SCARY EXPERIENCE ON THE HIGHWAY, ACTUALLY WHITE KNUCKLED IT ALL THE WAY HOME. I PROBABLY SHOULD HAVE SIMPLY DROVE IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND LEFT IT THERE. I HAD THE SERVICE MANAGER COME AND PICK IT UP AT MY HOUSE AS I WAS NOT WILLING TO DRIVE IT BACK TO THEM FOR FEAR OF CRASHING OR CAUSING AN EXTREMELY HORRIFIC ACCIDENT! THEY DID COME AND GET THE JEEP AND DROVE IT BACK , HOWEVER THEY HIT BUMPER TO BUMPER TRAFFIC AND DID NOT HAVE THE CHANCE TO EXPERIENCE THE UNSAFE STEERING ISSUE. THEY DID CHANGE THE FRONT STEERING DAMPER AND CLAIMED THAT NO SHIMMY PRESENT AFTER THEIR TEST DRIVE. NOT POSSIBLE! I AM NOT BLAMING FITZPATRICK'S OF ANSONIA FOR THIS I AM HOLDING JEEP SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS DANGEROUS ISSUE. I GUESS MY QUESTION TO YOU IS WHEN WILL JEEP BE HELD RESPONSIBLE TO REMOVE THESE VEHICLES FROM THE STREETS. I FEEL THAT A $53K JEEP SHOULDN'T BE SCARY TO DRIVE. I HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE TO TO USE THIS VEHICLE AS I DON'T HAVE A SPARE AS I'M SURE THAT MOST DON'T! I FILLED OUT A SURVEY THAT JEEP SENT ME ASKING FOR A PHONE CALL FOR THIS MATTER AND HAVE YET TO HEAR BACK FROM THEM. PLEASE HELP!
LOOSE STEERING WHEEL. HAVING TO CONSTANTLY ADJUST TJHE STEERING WHEEL TO KEEP THE CAR DRIVING IN STRAIGHT LINE. THE DEALER CLAIMS THAT'S HOW A WRANGLER SHOULD DRIVE. I'VE DRIVEN OTHER 2019 WRANGLERS AND NON OF THEM HAD THE SAME ISSUE. JEEP CARE ARE PROVIDING A HORRIBLE SERVICE AND SO FAR THEY DIDN'T PROVED ANY SOLUTIONS, THE CASE MANAGER IS AVOIDING MY CALLS.
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE HOME FROM DEALERSHIP AFTER PURCHASE I NOTED A DEAD SPOT IN THE STEERING OF ABOUT 3 TO 4 INCHES WHERE THERE IS NO STEERING RESPONSE TO MOVEMENT OF THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE VECHICLE WAS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AS IT WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO KEEP IT IN MY LANE. I HAVE WORKED WITH JEEP CARES AND HAVE OPENED 2 CASES, 58775069, 59043175 AND HAVE BEEN TO 3 DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS TRYING TO GET THIS FIXED. THE 1ST 2 DEALERSHIPS DROVE THE VEHICLE ON AND STATED THERE WAS NO PROBLEM, THIS IS HOW JEEPS ARE DESIGNED. THE 3RD DEALERSHIP DROVE IT WITH ME IN THE CAR ON THE SAME TYPE OF ROADS I DRIVE (2 LANE COUNTRY ROADS WITH NO SHOULDER. THEY NOTED THAT THE ALIGNMENT WAS OFF AND RE-ALIGNED THE STEERING. THIS DID HELP WITH THE EXTEME SWING THE VEHICLE WOULD TAKE ON ITS OWN INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC OR TOWARD THE SHOULDER BUT DID NOTHING TO RESOLVE THE 3" TO 4" DEADSPOT IN THE STEERING. I WILL BE OPENING A 3RD JEEP CARES CASE THIS WEEK. THIS DEAD SPOT CAUSES WHAT I WOULD CALL "DRIVER INDUCED OSCILLATION" AS MINOR OF FINE STEERING CORRECTIONS ARE EXAGGERATED WITH THE 3" TO 4" DEADSPOT SO YOU INADVERTANTLY OVERCORRECT AND THEN HAVE TO RE-CORRECT THE OTHERWAY AGAIN THRU A 3" TO 4" DEADSPOT. THE VEHICLE IS A DANGER TO MYSELF AND OTHERS ON THE ROAD. JEEP SEEMS TO BE TRYING TO AVOID THE BUYBACK OR LEMON LAW BY STATING THERE IS NO PROBLEM THE VEHCILE IS DESIGNED TO HAVE A 3" TO 4" DEAD SPOT IN THE STEERING. THE VEHICLE EXTREMELY DIFFICLUT TO KEEP IN ITS LANE WHILE DRIVING ON 2 LANE COUNTRY ROADS AT STANDARD ROAD SPEEDS OF 35 TO 50 MILES PER HOUR, WITH NO SHOULDER.
LOOSE STEERING, MASSIVE AMOUNT OF PLAY IN THE WHEEL. DIFFICULT TO CONTROL VEHICLE AND KEEP LANE POSITION. EXCESSIVE DRIVER INPUT REQUIRED JUST TO GO STRAIGHT. UNSAFE DRIVING CONDITIONS. THE FASTER YOU GO, THE FASTER IT CAN CHANGE LANES ON YOU. AT 60+ MPH -IF YOU LOOK AWAY FROM THE ROAD FOR 2 SECONDS (CHECKING A SIDE MIRROR, REAR VIEW MIRROR OR INTERSECTION) YOU COULD EASILY BE 4-6FT OVER TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT EVEN WHILE HOLDING THE WHEEL STRAIGHT.*DT CONSUMER STATED STEERING ISSUES HAVE BEEN RECURRING SINCE THE TIME OF PURCHASE.*JB

MY JEEP WANDERS ALL OVER THE ROAD. ITS EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE AND TIRING TO CONSTANTLY CORRECT THE STEERING TO STAY IN A LANE. SPECIFICALLY WHEN GOING 50 MPH OR MORE.. IT HAS BEEN THIS WAY FROM DAY ONE. THERE IS TOO MUCH PLAY IN THE STEERING. IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAY. WE ALREADY DID ONE FACTORY RECALL AND IT DID NOTHING TO CHANGE THE STEERING. IM TIRED OF ALL THE EXCUSES SUCH AS "ITS A JEEP THING,JUST ENJOY IT" OR "THATS JUST HOW IT IS" AS WELL AS THE SUGGESTIONS TO PURCHASE OTHER PARTS AND MODIFICATIONS TO CORRECT THE STEERING OF A BRAND NEW VEHICLE. THIS SHOULD NOT BE AN ISSUE. I HAVE DRIVEN MY FAIR SHARE OF OFF ROAD VEHICLES AND IVE NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS KIND OF WANDERING FROM ANY OF THEM. ALSO, MY WRANGLER HAS BEEN LEAKING OIL SINCE ABOUT 1500 MILES. IVE ALREADY HAD THE REAR MAIN SEAL REPLACED AFTER SITTING AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR 2 MONTHS AND THE OIL PAN REPLACED THE 2ND VISIT. I CURRENTLY HAVE AN APPT TO TAKE IT IN FOR A 3RD TIME BECAUSE IT IS STILL LEAKING OIL. MY JEEP HAS LESS THAN 2000 MILES.

STEERING FEELS LOOSE AND CONSTANTLY WANDERS ALL OVER THE ROAD. VEHICLE WILL NOT DRIVE STRAIGHT AND ALWAYS DRIFTS TO ONE SIDE OR THE OTHER.
(IN MOTION). AS IN MANY FORUMS AND YOUTUBE VIDEOS, THE STEERING WHEEL OF MY CAR FEELS SHAKING, WOBBLE OR LOOSE IN THE HIGH-WAYS OR ABOVE 30 MPH. THIS SITUATION IS MAKING IT HARD TO KEEP THE VEHICLE GOING STRAIGHT ON THE ROADS. BEGINNER DRIVERS COULD GET NERVOUS WITH THIS FEELING AND CAUSE ACCIDENTS, AS WELL; FOR THE NORMAL DRIVERS TO KEEP THE CAR STRAIGHT MUST CONSTANTLY (BEYOND OF CURRENT STANDARDS) GIVE INPUTS TO THE STEERING WHEEL, GETTING TIRED SOONER COMPERING WITH OTHER DRIVERS, THE JEEP IS INCREASING THE PROBABILITY OF ACCIDENTS BECAUSE OF THIS DUE IS LIKE BEING FIGHTING AGAINST THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE ONLY ANSWER FROM JEEP IS "THE CAR IS LIKE THAT" WHICH IS REALLY DANGEROUS.
MY STEERING WHEEL WAS NOT CENTERED SINCE I FIRST GOT THE CAR WHICH WAS ABOUT 3 WEEKS AGO. IT HAS ALREADY BEEN IN SERVICE 3 TIMES. BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR 4 DAYS OUT OF THE 3 WEEKS. THEY DID THE ALIGNMENT TWICE AND IT DID NOT SOLVED. THE STEERING WHEELS ALSO WAUNDERS AND DOES NOT TRACK PROPERLY. IT IS VERY SCARY DRIVING ON THE HIGH WAY WHILE TRYING TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE CAR TO STAY INSIDE THE LANES. DEFINITELY A DEAD SPOT AND THE STEERING WHEEL DOES NOT RESPONSE WELL. MY CAR IS STILL AT THE DEALERSHIP. BRAND NEW CAR AND NO SOLUTION AT THE MOMENT. ALSO THE RADIATOR FAN IS VERY LOUD AND UNUSUAL BUT I WAS JUST TOLD IT IS COMMON. ALSO MY AUTOMATIC ENGINE SHUT OFF DOES NOT WORK AT TIMES.

THE JEEP WANDERS ALL OVER THE ROAD. IT IS HARD TO STAY IN MY LANE ESPECIALLY WHEN GOING 50 MPH OR GREATER. IT IS SO AGGRAVATING. PEOPLE HONK AT ME. I CAN'T LOOK AWAY TO CHANGE THE RADIO STATION BECAUSE WHEN I LOOK BACK I AM ALREADY WANDERING TO THE NEXT LANE. THE STEERING HAS TOO MUCH PLAY. IT HAS BEEN THIS WAY FROM DAY ONE. IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAY. I JUST WANT TO PUT A SIGN ON MY JEEP THAT SAYS, "IT'S THE JEEP, NOT ME." MY HUSBAND BOUGHT ME THIS FOR OUR ANNIVERSARY AND I HATE IT. I WOULD RATHER DRIVE OUR 2006 JEEP THAT DRIVES STRAIGHT AND STEERING IS TIGHT. WE ALREADY DID ONE FACTORY RECALL AND IT DID NOTHING TO CHANGE THE STEERING.
THE STEERING IS SCARY, VERY LOOSE STEERING, WORSE ON HWY SPEEDS BUT EVEN CITY DRIVING ALSO. CONSTANT ADJUSTMENTS REQUIRED TO STAY STRAIGHT ON HWY, I FEEL LIKE I LOOK LIKE A DRUNK DRIVER, IT'S EXHAUSTING TO DRIVE. THERE SEEMS TO BE DEAD SPOT DEAD CENTER 12OCLOCK AND HAS EXCESSIVE SLOP.
WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT AT SPEEDS OF 30 MPH OR MORE THE VEHICLE REQUIRES CONSTANT CORRECTION LEFT AND RIGHT OF THE STEERING WHEEL TO STAY IN THE LANE. THIS CONSTANT NEED TO CORRECT THE STEERING TO MAINTAIN YOUR LANE IS A DISTRACTION FROM DRIVING SAFELY AT TIMES.
SIMPLY PUT 'SCARY' DEAD ZONE IN THE STEERING. STEERING WON'T RESPOND FOR ABOUT 2-3 INCHES AND REQUIRES CONSTANT INPUT AND CORRECTION. THE JEEP CONSTANTLY WONDERS. STEERING FEELS LOOSE. MINIMAL CHANGES IN CONDITIONS OR INPUT MAKE LARGE ADJUSTMENTS THIS CONDITION CERTAINLY WILL EVENTUALLY TURN A CORRECTION INTO AN ACCIDENT OR ROLL OVER. *TR
STEERING ON OUR NEW JEEP WRANGLER IS ALL OVER THE PLACE. YOU CONSTANTLY HAVE TO CORRECT AS THE CAR MOVES FROM SIDE TO SIDE CAUSING A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND THE APPEARANCE YOU ARE AN IMPAIRED DRIVER. IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE THIS CAR AND IT IS BRAND NEW.
THE STEERING IS LOOSE. OVER 1 INCH OF PLAY IN STEERING DRIFTS TO LEFT AND RIGHT AND UNABLE TO CONTROL AT ANY SPEED. CONSTANTLY HAVE TO FIGHT THE WHEEL. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE IT. $52,000 TO REMAIN IN THE DEALERSHIP REPAIR SHOP IS PATHETIC. I TOOK MINE BACK AFTER 3 DAYS AND NOW I AM FIGHTING AND FILING LEMON LAW. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP CHRYSLER TOLD THEM NOT TO FIX IT UNTIL THEY DETERMINED IF A RECALL WOULD BE SENT OUT, BUT THEY KNEW THERE WAS A PROBLEM.
I RECENTLY RENTED A 2019 JEEP WRANGLER FROM AVIS AT MCCARRAN AIRPORT IN LAS VEGAS. THE AVIS VEHICLE NUMBER WAS 90380010. THE RENTAL AGREEMENT NUMBER WAS 420140943. THE VEHICLE HAD AN AFTERMARKET PIECE OF ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT INSTALLED BY AVIS UNDER THE DRIVER SIDE DASHBOARD, PROBABLY A GPS DEVICE OF SOME KIND. THE DEVICE WAS PLUGGED INTO THE VEHICLE'S ELECTRICAL SYSTEM ON THE LEFT HAND WALL OF THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT, WITH A CORD ABOUT 12-18 INCHES LONG STRETCHED OUT UNDER THE DASHBOARD. THE DEVICE WAS VERY POORLY INSTALLED. WHILE I WAS DRIVING, THE DEVICE DROPPED OUT FROM BEHIND THE DASHBOARD, AND THE CORD WRAPPED ITSELF AROUND THE BRAKE PEDAL, WITH THE DEVICE ITSELF FALLING IMMEDIATELY BEHIND THE PEDAL. THE ACTUAL DEVICE WAS ABOUT 2 INCHES BY 3 INCHES. IT BLOCKED THE BRAKE PEDAL, REDUCING AVAILABLE BRAKING BY 80 PERCENT. FORTUNATELY, I WAS TRAVELING AT A SLOW SPEED ON A QUIET STREET AND WAS ABLE TO BRING THE CAR TO A HALT.
STEERING WANDERS AND HAS WAY TOO MUCH PLAY CAUSING THE JEEP TO DRIFT TO ONE SIDE OF THE LANE OR THE OTHER AND IS VERY SLOW TO RESPOND TO YOUR EFFORTS TO CORRECT THE DRIFT. DANGEROUS.
THE STEERING ON A BRAND NEW 2019 JEEP WRANGLER JL WITH LESS THAN 100 MILES HAS VERY LOOSE STEERING WITH A DEAD SPOT AT THE TOP. IT IS EXTREMELY CHALLENGING TO MAINTAIN A LANE WHEN DRIVING, ESPECIALLY AT HIGHWAY SPEED REQUIRING CONSTANT INPUT FROM THE DRIVER. UNDER HARD BRAKING THE VEHICLE WILL PULL TO THE RIGHT. THE DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT SUPPOSEDLY PERFORMED A 4-WHEEL ALIGNMENT PRIOR TO ME PURCHASING THE VEHICLE AFTER MY INITIAL COMPLIANT DURING TEST DRIVING. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE.
MY BRAND NEW 2019 2-DR. JEEP WRANGLER JL HAS A SERIOUS STEERING PROBLEM. AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, ESPECIALLY ABOVE 50MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL NEEDS CONSTANT SMALL ADJUSTMENTS TO KEEP THE VEHICLE IN ITS LANE. BOTH I AND MY WIFE FIND IT DIFFICULT TO KEEP THE VEHICLE ON TRACK IN NORMAL HIGHWAY DRIVING CONDITIONS. WE FEEL THAT THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN. THE SLIGHTEST DISTRACTION OF THE DRIVER'S ATTENTION FROM THE CONSTANT NEED FOR SMALL STEERING CORRECTIONS COULD AND WILL EVENTUALLY RESULT IN THE VEHICLE WANDERING OUT OF ITS LANE INTO AN ADJACENT LANE, CAUSING A HIGH-SPEED ACCIDENT. UNFORTUNATELY, A CURSORY INVESTIGATION OF SUCH AN ACCIDENT WOULD PROBABLY AND UNJUSTIFIABLY RESULT IN A FINDING OF DRIVER INATTENTIVENESS, COMPLETELY OVERLOOKING THE UNDERLYING MECHANICAL CAUSE. THE MANUFACTURER, FIAT CHRYSLER, HAS YET TO PROVIDE DEFINITIVE ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OR REMEDY FOR THIS PROBLEM. POOR WELD QUALITY ON THE FRAME THAT QUESTIONS ITS SAFETY. NEARLY ALL WELDS ON THE FRAME ARE CHIPPING AND BEGINNING TO RUST. I NOTICED THIS WITHIN THE FIRST 2 MONTHS OF OWNERSHIP. I LIVE IN A DRY CLIMATE. SOME WELDS HAVE HOLES. THE IMAGES I HAVE PROVIDED ARE SOME SAMPLES. NEARLY ALL WELDS LOOK LIKE THE WELDS IN THE PHOTOS.

TOOK THE BRAND NEW VEHICLE TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT, WHERE THEY PERFORMED AN ALIGNMENT, AND THE ISSUE REMAINS EXACTLY THE SAME.

WE HAVE ADDED POSITIVE CASTER AND LOWERED AIR PRESSURE WHICH IMPROVED IT, BUT IT STILL MUCH MORE DIFFICULT TO DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAY THAN OUR 2011 WRANGLER WAS. IT IS ESPECIALLY NOTICEABLE ON CONCRETE GROOVED HIGHWAY OR IN AREAS WHERE ROADWORK IS BEING DONE AND THEY HAVE TEMPORARILY MOVED THE LANE OF TRAVEL SO YOU ARE DRIVING OVER THE GROOVES IN ROAD SEPARATING LANES.
EXCESS PLAY IN STEERING WHILE DRIVING. THE EXCESS PLAY GETS WORSE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND REQUIRES CONSTANT SMALL CORRECTIONS IN THE STEERING IN ORDER TO STAY IN YOUR LANE. THIS "WANDERING" OF THE VEHICLE GETS DANGEROUS AS YOUR ARE CONSTANTLY TRYING TO KEEP THE VEHICLE FROM WANDERING INTO OTHER LANES. NEEDLES TO SAY, IT IS ALSO EXHAUSTING ON TRIPS.
FROM THE FIRST DAY I GOT THE JEEP I FELT THE STEERING WHEEL LOOSE. I NOTIFY THE DEALER AND I HAD TAKEN IT TWICE FOR SERVICE THEY PUT A STEERING DAMPER BUT THE PROBLEM STILL EXIST. WHEN I TOOK IT THE SECOND TIME THEY DIDN'T FIND ANYTHING AND SAID IT WAS A JEEP THING.

THERE MAY HAVE BEEN AN ISSUE AT THE FACTORY WHERE THE COMPUTER WAS PROGRAMMED FOR A 2 DOOR JEEP VICE THE 4 DOOR JEEP. THIS ISSUE TAKES PLACE ON SIDE STREETS AS WELL AS HIGHWAY, BUT IS MORE DIFFICULT TO CONTROL AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS.

This jeep has an awful steering issue. Keeping it in the lane im driving in is extremely hard.This vehicle has been looked at for this issue several times and jeep says do this or this and the jeep dealer still hasn't fixed the issue it has been a nightmare to drive i feel like im putting myself and others in danger because the steering issue on this 2019 jeep is extremely loose causing this vehicle to move all over the road.This vehicle is definitely dangerous to drive. If I break suddenly it's pulls majorly to the left and does a dip down if that makes any sense.im super careful not to break fast but in some instances its unavoidable.

I PARKED THE VEHICLE AND NEXT AVAILABLE DAY WAS THAT SATURDAY MAY 4TH 2019 TO BRING BACK TO SECURITY CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP IN AMITYVILLE, NY. MY VEHICLE WENT IN WITH 88 MILES. MAY 6TH I WAS ADVISED VEHICLE WAS CLEARED FOR PICK UP. GOT TO DEALER AROUND 8:15PM MAY 6TH AND STILL FOUND STOP/START WARNING ICON ILLUMINATED ON VEHICLE.. DEALER COULD NOT FIND ISSUE, THEY PUT OVER 15 MILES ON MY VEHICLE FOR DRIVE CYCLING THE VEHICLE BUT NO REPAIRS WERE MADE. I AM DISSATISFIED WITH THE OUTCOME SO FAR AND DONT HAVE MY VEHICLE BACK AS YET AND ITS MAY 8TH 2019.
2019 WRANGLER JL PURCHASED ON APRIL 30. ORDERED THE VEHICLE AND PICKED IT UP AT THE DEALERSHIP 220 MILES FROM HOME AND TRAILERED IT HOME. DID NOT TEST DRIVE IT AT THE DEALERSHIP. IMMEDIATELY UPON DRIVING, FOUND THE STEERING TO BE A PROBLEM. VEHICLE WANDERS ALL OVER THE ROAD. NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO KEEP IT IN THE LANE OF TRAVEL AT SPEEDS OVER 45. THIS IS KEEPING US FROM DRIVING IT REGULARLY AND ONLY USE IT WHEN MAKING SHORT TRIPS IN TOWN (35 MPH AND BELOW). PAID NEARLY $48K FOR THIS VEHICLE. CALLED DEALERSHIP. THEY SAID THEY HAVE NOT HEARD OF THIS PROBLEM BEFORE. THIS VEHICLE IS DANGEROUS AND I AM STUCK WITH IT FOR NOW WITH NO OPTION. HOPEFULLY, A RECALL TAKES PLACE.
