JJEEP HIT A BUMP IN THE ROAD AND STARTED SHAKING UNCONTROLLABLE EVEN AFTER STOPPING AND STARTING. ABLE TO DRIVE, DEALER ORDERED NEW PART FOR SUSPENSIONS AND TOLD TO DRIVE LESS THEN 55 UNTIL IF COMES IN. PART IS BACK ORDERED
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2019 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HIS WIFE WAS DRIVING 75 MPH, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE DEATH WOBBLE. THERE WAS NO WARNING PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HIS WIFE BRIEFLY LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE BUT REGAINED CONTROL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HIS WIFE PULLED OFF THE HIGHWAY TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE AND FOUND NO FAULT WITH THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 8,000.*DT*JB
AT 65 MPH IF THE STREET IS HAVE A IMPERFECTION THE FRONT OF THE CAR START TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY. I HAVE TO AT LEAST SLOW DOWN TO 40 TO 45 MPH TO TAKE CONTROL. I THINK IS CALL DEATH WOBBLE.
MANY TIMES, MY JEEP IS DOING UNSAFE WOBBLE LIKE THE WHEELS ARE GOING TO COME OFF. GOING AT SPEEDS OF 55-65 . VERY HARD TO HANDLE AND KEEP ON ROAD. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THERE WERE NO RECALLS. COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. I HAVE A HANDICAPPED DAUGHTER AND THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. IT WOULD HAPPEN ALSO WHEN GOING OVER RAILROAD TRACKS OR SIMPLY DOWN THE HIGHWAY.
ON 11/7/20 WHILE DRIVING FROM HARLINGEN,TX TO HOUSTON,TX AT AN AVERAGE SPEED OF 65MPH THE JEEP WOULD SHAKE UNCONTROLLABLY AND VERY AGGRESSIVELY CAUSING ME TO REDUCE SPEED AND SWITCH LANES HITTING THE BRAKES ONLY MADE IT WORSE. IN OCTOBER 219 I EXPERIENCED THE SAME 'DEATH WOBBLE' DRIVING 65MPH ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN GOING OVER THE OVERPASS. THE DEALER SAID NORMAL AND WOULD REPLACE THE DAMPER TO HELP BUT NORMAL. THIS IS NOT NORMAL AND IS UNSAFE ESPECIALLY WHEN DRIVING WITH CHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE AT HIGH RATE OF SPEED.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2019 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 21V028000 (POWER TRAIN) HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE RECALL REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. BUHLER JEEP CHRYSLER DODGE RAM (3290 NJ-35, HAZLET, NJ 07730, (732) 264-5000) WAS CONTACTED AND IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE PART WAS NOT YET AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAD EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING OVER A BUMP OR POT HOLE IN THE ROADWAY, THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD SHAKE VIOLENTLY. AFTER SLOWING DOWN TO REDUCE THE SPEED TO APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH, THE SHAKING STOPPED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the rearview camera would inadvertently turn blue or black while reversing. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed by an independent mechanic or dealer. The dealer was notified of the failure and advised the contact that the failure was a manufacturer’s defect. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but did not provide any assistance. The manufacturer also advised the contact to file a complaint with NHTSA. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.
VERY LOOSE/SLOPPY STEERING AT ALL SPEEDS.
WHEN THE VEHICLE HITS 25-35MPH, THE POWER STEERING CUTS OUT COMPLETELY AND CAN ONLY BE CONTROLLED VIA AGGRESSIVE WRESTLING WITH THE STEERING WHEEL. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DEALER 11-2-20. DEALER REPORTED THAT THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE PROBLEM AND THAT I PROBABLY NEEDED A NEW POWER STEERING PUMP BUT THAT THE PART IS ON BACK ORDER UNTIL 4/2021 AND THAT I SHOULD COME AND GET THE CAR. II WAS ALSO TOLD THAT I WAS #20 ON A LIST OF WRANGLER RUBICONS THAT ARE WAITING FOR THIS PART AND THAT THEY ONLY GET ONE POWER STEERING PUMP FROM THE MANUFACTURER EVERY 30 DAYS. I PICKED UP THE CAR ON 11-9-20 AND THE POWER STEERING CUT OUT IMMEDIATELY ON THE DRIVE HOME ONCE I HIT 35MPH. SO, I CURRENTLY HAVE A JEEP THAT HAS BROKEN POWER STEERING THAT IS SITTING IN MY GARAGE AND NO SOLUTION BEING OFFERED FROM THE DEALER/OEM. THIS CAR IS NOT EVEN 1 YEAR OLD.
STEERING WHEEL BEGAN SHAKING VIOLENTLY ON HIGHWAY AT 60MPH. HAD TO SLOW DOWN TO STOP THE SHAKING. ISSUE HAPPENED AGAIN ONCE I REACHED HIGHWAY SPEED. NO ISSUES WITH TIRES FOUND. STEERING WANDERS UNDER NORMAL DRIVING. REQUIRES CONSTANT STEERING CORRECTION. STEERING WHEEL PULLS TO THE RIGHT DURING NORMAL DRIVING. LARGE DEAD SPOT IN CENTER OF STEERING WHEEL. DEALER HAS THE VEHICLE FOR THE THIRD TIME. SAME ISSUE.
MY 2019 JEEP WRANGLER SPORT JL WHEN DRIVING ON THE ROAD ANY ROAD THE CAR FOR NO REASON STARTS WOBBLING AND SHAKING AND VIBRATING FOR ABOUT 20 SECONDS OR MORE AND THEN IT DRIVES NORMALLY ,BUT THIS HAPPENS VERY OFTEN AND THE STEERING WHEEL FEELS WEIRD AND HAS AN EMPTY SPACE IN IT AND WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY THE CAR WONDERS TO THE LEFT AND RIGHT CHANGING LANES AND I HAVE TO KEEP BOTH HANDS ON THE STEERING WHEEL TO CONTROL THE CAR AND KEEP IT STRAIGHT. THIS IS A BRAND NEW CAR . THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE STEERING DAMPER AND THAT RECALL WAS DONE ON MY JEEP BUT THE PROBLEM OF WOBBLING AND SHAKING AND VIBRATING IS STILL THERE . MY JEEP IS VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AND IT'S STILL BRAND NEW AND UNDER MANUFACTURER WARRANTY AND I TOOK IT TO A JEEP DEALERSHIP IN HOOVER-ALABAMA HENDRICK JEEP AND THEY SAID THAT THEY COULDN'T FIND ANY PROBLEM BUT I DON'T TRUST THEM AND I DON'T THINK THEY DID A THOROUGH DIAGNOSIS. MY JEEP HAS A DEFECT IN THE STEERING WHEEL AND IT WOBBLES AND SHAKES AND VIBRATES FOR NO REASON VERY OFTEN AND THE STEERING HAS AN EMPTY SPACE IN IT THAT MAKES THE CAR GO SIDEWAYS . THE WOBBLING AND SHAKING AND VIBRATING IS VERY DANGEROUS AND HAPPENS FOR NO REASON OR AFTER I GO THROUGH A ROUGH ROAD OR A POTHOLE OR ON A NORMAL SMOOTH ROAD .ALL THIS IS STILL HAPPENING EVEN AFTER DOING THE RECALL OF STEERING DAMPER . THE PROBLEM OF WOBBLING AND SHAKING AND VIBRATING IS STILL THERE AND THE CAR IS VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE
BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SUN VISORS FALL OUT OF THE MOUNTING SOCKETS WHILE DRIVING OR IF A SMALL BUMP IS HIT. WHEN VISORS FALL DOWN IT BLOCKS ALMOST HALF OF THE DRIVERS VISIBILITY AND FORCES THE DRIVER TO EITHER TRY TO PUSH IT BACK INTO THE 'CLIP' OR SOCKET WHILE DRIVING, OR PULL OVER AND TRY TO PUSH IT IN. DEALERSHIP CLAIMS THE ISSUE WAS CAUSED BY AN 'OUTSIDE FORCE' AND THE SMALL PLASTIC CLIPS INSIDE THE MOUNTING BRACKET BROKE. NO 'OUTSIDE FORCE' WAS CAUSED ON BOTH VISORS TO CAUSE BOTH CLIPS TO BREAK. THEY ARE SMALL PLASTIC PIECES THAT HAVE WORN IN LESS THAN A YEAR FROM NORMAL USE OF FLIPPING AND SWIVELING THE VISORS. DUE TO THE SEVERITY OF LOSS OF VISIBILITY AND HOW OFTEN IT HAPPENS, IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE.
AT HIGH SPEEDS (65+MPH) IF THE JEEP ROLLS OVER A ROUGH PATCH ON THE HIGHWAY THE WHOLE JEEP/STEERING WHEEL WILL SHAKE VIOLENTLY UNTIL I LET GO OF THE GAS...
My Jeep if fully corroded and corroding on all seams of the vehicle. The paint is bubbling and chipping. Chrysler refuses to buy the car back.
WHILE DRIVING THE MIDDLE LANE ON THE HIGHWAY DOING 70 MPH I DROVE OVER AN OVERPASS WITH A SLIGHT DEPRESSION AND MY STEERING WHEEL STARTED TO VIOLENTLY SHAKE SO MUCH SO THAT I HAD DIFFICULTY MOVING TO THE RIGHT LANE AND THEN ONTO THE EMERGENCY SHOULDER, THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. THE DEALER REPLACED THE STEERING DAMPENER THE SECOND TIME TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM. THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME THAT THIS HAD HAPPENED, THE FIRST TIME WAS ABOUT 14 MONTHS EARLIER WHEN THE DEALER REPLACED THE STEERING DAMPENER FOR THE FIRST TIME. TO DATE I AM ON MY THIRD STEERING DAMPENER IN LESS THAN TWO YEARS. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS DESIGN DISASTER THAT IS AN EXTREME HAZARD TO ALL THE SAFE DRIVERS ON OUR HIGHWAYS INCLUDING ME. THANK YOU.
BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE SUN VISORS DETACH COMPLETELY IF THE CAR HITS A BUMP, POTHOLE, SPEEDBUMP ETC...CAUSING THE VISION OF THE WINDSHIELD TO BECOME OBSTRUCTED UNTIL THE VISOR IS MOVED OUT OF SIGHT. THIS APPEARS TO BE DUE TO A FAULTY PLASTIC RETENTION WASHER THAT BECOMES DISLODGED. THIS BEHAVIOR IS ALSO ABLE TO BE REPRODUCED WHEN ATTEMPTING TO USE THE SUN VISOR IN ITS DESIGNED INTENT OF FOLDING UP, DOWN, AND DETACHING/EXTENDING TO BLOCK SUN FROM THE DRIVERS VIEW.
MY STEERING WHEEL HAS AN SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF PLAY. IT CAN FEEL SOMETIMES AS THOUGH I AM EXPERIENCING A LOSS OF CONTROL, MAKING IT DIFFICULT OR NEAR IMPOSSIBLE TO DRIVE AT HIGH SPEEDS OR ON THE HIGHWAY. WONDERING, IF THIS CAN BE A STEERING BOX ISSUE...

WENT A LITTLE FURTHER JEEP JUST SHUT DOWN AGAIN ... I ALMOST WENT OVER AN EMBANKMENT...

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, WHILE GETTING ON THE HIGHWAY THE STEERING WHEEL BEGAN TO SHAKE AGGRESSIVELY SLIPPING OUT OF THE DRIVER'S HANDS. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER THEN EVENTUALLY KEPT GOING. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL HOURS LATER WHILE USING CRUISE CONTROL AT APPROXIMATELY 90 MPH. THE CONTACT SLAMMED ON THE BRAKE PEDAL UNTIL THE VEHICLE STOPPED AND THEN CONTINUED TO DRIVE. THE FAILURE RECURRED APPROXIMATELY 30 TIMES. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MICHIANA CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM FIAT (120 W MCKINLEY AVE, MISHAWAKA, IN 46545; (574) 807-0414) WHERE A DIAGNOSTIC WAS STILL PENDING. THE CONTACT REFERENCED TSB: 08/074/20 REGARDING THE ELECTRIC HYDRAULIC STEERING UNIT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,200.
WANDERING STEERING FEELS UNSAFE AT SPEED OVER 55. NOW BEGINNING TO PULL RIGHT AS WELL
It has happened several times since we got the vehicle. There are times we are on the freeway and we press the gas but the car slows down and makes a horrible sound then after a little while we wiggle the shift handle and move it around to make it go. It has been very scary. Also the car has turned off when stopped at red light. We called the dealership and they just turned off the auto start. They told us we do not have extended warranty and that was it. Also the steering wheel gets locked up. We just pray that nothing happens to us. Could you advice please.

SHE WAS THEN ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE UNDER CONTROL TO HER DESTINATION WITH NO FURTHER OCCURRENCES. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER (ARRIGO DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM MARGATE 2250 FL-7, MARGATE, FL 33063 954-633-5365) AND THEY DIAGNOSED THE FAILURE BEING THE STEERING COLUMN SENSOR. THE DEALER MENTIONED THAT THE CONTACT SHOULD HAVE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CALLED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE VEHICLE WAS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALER UNREPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,987.
OVER SPEED OF 45 MPH AND A BUMP IS HIT THE STEERING WHEEL BEGINS TO SHAKE. THIS HAPPENED PREVIOUSLY AND STEERING DAMPER HAD BEEN REPLACED, BUT THE PROBLEM IS BACK AGAIN.
THE STEERING IS VERY LOOSE, REQUIRES CONSTANT CORRECTION ON HIGHWAY DRIVING. I'VE TAKEN THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES, HOWEVER THEY CLAIM THIS IS "NORMAL" FOR A JEEP.
ANY TIME THE UPPER SEAT RECLINING HANDLE IS USED TO RECLINE OR FOLD THE SEAT FORWARD, SOMETHING IN THE CABLE MECHANISM BREAKS AND THE SEAT WILL NO LONGER LATCH IN ANY KIND OF LOCKED POSITION, CAUSING THE DRIVER OR PASSENGER SEAT TO NOT BE STABLE EASY TO FLING FORWARD OR BACKWARD.
Service Axle Locker System light appears on dashboard. If the axle locker engages accidentally in the wrong conditions, it could cause a crash. The vehicle has been taken to the dealer three times. This is the 3rd visit to the dealer. The first time they said they would change the axle, but then it was on backorder so they flushed the differential and cleaned some metal parts they said was fouling the sensor. I drove it away and they same problem occurred. The second visit they changed a sensor. Now the problem is back and I'm waiting to hear their "solution".
WHEN DRIVING ABOVE 55MPH BOTH TIMES THE VEHICLE STARTS TO VILENTLY SHAKE AND SLOW DOWN AND JERK, COMPLETE LOST OF POWER, CAN PUSH PEDDLE DOWN AND VEHICLE JUST BOGGS DOWN AND REVS UP THEN DOWN. EVENTUALLY DIES AND THEN YOU MUST SHUT DOWN VEHICLE WITH KEY. WAIT ABOUT 1 MINUTE START AND IT DRIVES FINE. HAS HAPPEN MULTIPLE TIMES BEEN INTO SHOP. THEY HAVE "FLASHED" COMPUTERS BUT CONTINUES TO DO RANDOMLY.
LOOSE STEERING, VEHICLE WANTS TO WANDER AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND HARD TO CONTROL ON WINDY ROADS. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS ISSUE. JEEP HAS ISSUED A TSB 08-074-20 FOR A STEEL STEERING GEAR (REPLACING STOCK ALUMINUM PART). BECAUSE IT IS A TSB AND NOT A RECALL, THERE IS TOO MUCH SUBJECTIVITY IN DEFINING "LOOSE STEERING". ALSO, BECAUSE ALL 2018 AND 2019 JEEP WRANGLERS HAVE THIS ALUMINUM GEAR THE DEALER CAN SIMPLY SAY "THEY ALL DRIVE LIKE THIS". SOME JEEP OWNERS ARE GETTING HELP FROM THEIR DEALERS, BUT MANY MANY OTHERS ARE NOT. THIS TSB NEEDS TO BE CONVERTED INTO A RECALL ASAP!
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the passenger’s and driver's side frame was rusted. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the sub-frame needed to be repainted. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 15,000.
LOOSE AND WANDERING STEERING. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE NEW IN JANUARY 2019, IT CURRENTLY HAS 5,039 MILES. SINCE NEW, THE STEERING HAS BEEN LOOSE AND WANDERS AROUND THE LANE OF TRAVEL AT SPEEDS OVER ABOUT 30 MPH ON PAVED, WELL MAINTAINED HIGHWAYS. IF YOU TAKE YOUR EYES OFF THE ROAD TO CHECK GAUGES OR CONTROLS, YOU HAVE TO QUICKLY MAKE AN ADJUSTMENT TO KEEP IT CENTERED IN THE LANE. IT HAS LOW MILEAGE IN THE 18 MONTHS OF OUR OWNERSHIP BECAUSE WE ARE AFRAID TO DRIVE IT. WE WANT TO AVOID A CRASH AND INJURIES AT ALL COST. THE STEERING WHEEL CAN BE TURNED EITHER DIRECTION FOR SEVERAL DEGREES WITHOUT RESPONSE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. I REPORTED THIS ISSUE TO MY DEALERS AND THEY HAVE MADE THREE DIFFERENT ATTEMPTS TO CORRECT THE ISSUE, BUT THEY ARE UNABLE TO BASED ON THE DESIGN. THE LAST ATTEMPT, THEY ADVISED THEY HAD SPOKEN TO THEIR AREA JEEP/FCA REPRESENTATIVE AND WERE ADVISED THAT JEEP IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND A CORRECTION WILL BE COMING IN THE NEAR FUTURE. THE ASKED ME TO BE PATIENT. THAT WAS OVER ONE YEAR AGO AND STILL NO CORRECTION. I'M SURE THIS ISSUE HAS LIKELY CAUSED MANY PREVENTABLE CRASHES AND INJURIES AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO UNTIL IT IS RESOLVED BY THE MANUFACTURER. IT'S TIME FOR NHTSA INFLUENCE.
THE FIRST TIME THE CAR HAD A SIGN THAT SAID 'STOP SAFELY VEHICLE WILL SHUT OFF SOON' I PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT AND THE CAR TURNED OFF AND WOULDN'T TURN BACK ON. THE SECOND TIME I STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN I GOT NO MESSAGE OR WARNING AND THE CAR COMPLETELY TURNED OFF, AND WOULD NOT TURN BACK ON. THE THIRD TIME I WAS AT A RED LIGHT AND GOT THE 'STOP SAFELY MESSAGE' AS WELL AS VARIOUS OTHER WARNING MESSAGES'THEN THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF AGAIN COMPLETELY. WOULDN'T START. THE FORTH TIME, I WAS AT A 4 WAY INTERSECTION WITH A 3 WAY STOP I DID NOT HAVE A STOP SIGN BUT THE PERSON TO MY RIGHT THOUGHT I DID. HE THOUGHT HE HAD THE RIGHT OF WAY, I SLAMMED ON MY BREAKS TO AVOID A COLLISION AND THE CAR STOPPED, COMPLETELY'GAVE ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS AND WOULD NOT RESTART.
THIS JEEP HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER 4 TIMES PREVIOUSLY FOR A SIMILAR ISSUE. THIS INCIDENT, WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH ALL THE INSTRUMENTS STARTED GOING CRAZY (PREVIOUSLY HAPPENED MANY TIMES). SHORTLY THEREAFTER THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP. THE POWER STEERING WAS STILL WORKING, BUT THE WHEEL WOULD ONLY TURN AROUND 1 INCH IN EITHER DIRECTION. BRAKING WAS NORMAL. MANEUVERED THE JEEP OFF THE ROAD AND HAD TOWED TO RON CARTER CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE DEALERSHIP IN LEAGUE CITY, TX. THE DEALERSHIP HAS HAD THIS VEHICLE 4 TIMES IN THE PAST FOR THIS ISSUE. IN THE PAST THE STEERING HAS NOT BEEN AFFECTED, BUT THE VEHICLE WON'T START OR THE PARKING BRAKE WILL BE SET AND YOU CAN'T MOVE OR OTHER WEIRD DIFFERENT STUFF HAPPENS. THE STEERING ISSUE IN THIS PAST INCIDENT IS SERIOUS. WHEN THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER INQUIRED WHAT HAPPENED HE TOLD ME HE HAS TOWED PROBABLY 20 OTHER NEWER JEEP WRANGLERS WITH SIMILAR ISSUES. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME LAST TIME WE BROUGHT THE VEHICLE IN AND IT WAS STILL ACTING UP THAT THERE WERE 15 FAULTS STORED. THE ISSUE USUALLY CLEARS ITSELF UP BY THE TIME WE GET IT TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER CLAIMS THEY HAVE TALKED WITH CHRYSLER AND CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHATS WRONG AND HAVE JUST BEEN THROWING DARTS REPLACING VARIOUS THINGS. IF THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER IS RIGHT ON HOW MANY VEHICLES HES TOWED WITH THIS PROBLEM THERE IS A SERIOUS ELECTRICAL / COMPUTER ISSUE GOING ON WITH THESE VEHICLES THAT IS GOING TO CAUSE ACCIDENTS.
STEERING IS VERY LOOSE, CAUSING SERIOUS PROBLEMS KEEPING THE JEEP STRAIGHT, OR IN MY LANE, ON ALL PAVED ROADS, AT ALL SPEEDS.
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the lever located on the headrests of both the front driver’s and passenger’s seats failed to recline as needed. The contact stated that the failure caused her to be unable to drive the vehicle since she could not properly adjust the seat. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.
DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AT ABOUT 75 MPH THE VEHICLE STARTED TO SHAKE UNCONTROLLABLY. HAD TO SLOW DOWN TO ABOUT 30 MPH TO GET VEHICLE UNDER CONTROL. VEHICLE HAS BEEN DRIVEN LESS THAN 4,000 MILES.
LOOSE STEERING HAS CAUSED SEVERAL 'NEAR MISSES' WHEN TAKING CURVES, ESPECIALLY AT SPEEDS ABOVE 40MPH. THE STEERING WHEEL IS VERY LOOSE OVERALL, BUT IT IS VERY DANGEROUS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS.
PURCHASED A NEW JEEP WRANGLER SAHARA UNLIMITED 6/22/2020 WITH 340 MILES. THE STEERING IS VERY LOOSE, 1 1/2-2" OF FREE PLAY IN STEERING WHEEL, NEAR IMPOSSIBLE TO KEEP THE VEHICLE IN THE LANE, THE LOOSENESS IS NOTICEABLE AT ALL SPEEDS, BUT BECOMES HARDER TO CONTROL AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. I HAVE BEEN IN THE NEW CAR BUSINESS FOR 34 YEARS AS A SERVICE MANAGER, 6 YEARS WITH JEEP, AND THE STEERING GEAR HAS SLACK IN IT. THE JEEP WAS SCHEDULED TO BE REPAIRED 6/7/20, AFTER BEING AT THE DEALERSHIP ALL DAY, IT WAS DELIVERED BACK TO ME, AND TOLD IT WAS NORMAL AND "JEEP LIKE". I SHOWED THEM A VIDEO OF ME DRIVING AT 55 MPH AND MOVING THE STEERING WHEEL SIDE TO SIDE 2" WITH THE JEEP STAYING IN A STRAIGHT LINE, UNSAFE AND UNACCEPTABLE, I COMMUTE 110 MILES A DAY IN THIS VEHICLE.
2019 JEEP WRANGLER JL SPORT-STEERING ISSUES I HAVE HAD MY 2019 JL A LITTLE OVER A YEAR NOW AND HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING CONCERNS WITH THE STEERING SINCE I DROVE IT HOME. BEING A FIRST TIME JEEP OWNER, INITIALLY I THOUGHT MAYBE THAT WAS JUST THE WAY IT WAS SUPPOSED TO DRIVE. AFTER A FEW MONTHS, IT JUST DIDN'T SEEM RIGHT TO ME THAT A BRAND NEW JEEP COULD BE THIS SLOPPY IN THE STEERING. THERE IS A TON OF PLAY IN THE STEERING WHEEL WHICH MEANS CONSTANTLY OVER-CORRECTING TO STAY IN A LANE. IT IS NOTICEABLE AT ALL SPEEDS BUT EVEN MORE SO AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. I FIND THAT I CANNOT TAKE ONE HAND OFF THE WHEEL AT ANYTIME WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY BECAUSE IT CAN WANDER. THIS IS AN EXHAUSTING WAY TO DRIVE NOT TO MENTION THE CONSTANT BUMP STEER THAT HAPPENS WHEN GOING OVER ANY MINOR BUMP OR HIGHWAY OVERPASS. IT'S NERVE WRACKING DRIVING IN TIGHT LANES ON THE HIGHWAY AND ESPECIALLY IN CONSTRUCTION ZONES. IT'S TO THE POINT THAT I HONESTLY DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING IT AND NEITHER DOES MY BOYFRIEND. I HAVE BROUGHT THIS UP NOW AT TWO DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS FOR A TOTAL OF 5-6 TIMES. THE MOST RECENT RESPONSE WAS, "THAT'S JUST THE NATURE OF THE BEAST". I'M SORRY BUT THAT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. THE FIRST DEALERSHIP PUT MY DAMPER RECALL PART IN UPSIDE DOWN AND SO I DROVE ON AN UPSIDE DOWN PART FOR 5 MONTHS BEFORE I EXPERIENCED THE DEATH WOBBLE ON THE HIGHWAY. AFTER THAT INCIDENT I TOOK IT TO A DIFFERENT DEALERSHIP WHO PUT IN A NEW DAMPER THE CORRECT WAY BUT STILL EXTREME LOOSENESS IN THE WHEEL AND WANDERING ALL OVER THE ROAD. THE MOST FRUSTRATING THING IS THAT THE DEALERSHIP TELLS ME THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE JEEP AND IT'S SAFE TO DRIVE YET THERE ARE 1,000'S OF REPORTS HAVING THE SAME STEERING ISSUES AS ME. THIS IS MY SECOND TIME OPENING A CASE WITH JEEP CARE HOWEVER I'M NOT HOPEFUL THAT THEY WILL HELP AT ALL.

The Uconnect Radio keeps freezing and restarting all the time. This is troublesome when you cannot use your backup camera or your navigation system. It is a distraction to the driver. You cannot turn down the volume, change the temperature or anything else during this freeze and rebooting.
WHEN THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE IS HOT ENOUGH AND THE A/C IS TURNED ON THE COOLING FAN NOISE BECOMES EXCESSIVE. IT'S A KNOWN ISSUE WITH JEEP. THERE'S AN ACTUAL TSB SPECIFICALLY FOR THIS NOISE. TSB 18-041-18 REV B. WHEN I TOOK MY JEEP TO THE DEALER TO REMEDY,I WAS TOLD THAT MY JEEP WASN'T PART OF THAT TSB AND THE ADMITTED NOISE WAS NORMAL. WHILE DRIVING DOWN A WINDING MOUNTAIN ROAD, THE "ELECTRONIC THROTTLE" WARNING CAME ON AS DID VSC, ABS, CHECK ENGINE AND ELECTRICAL. THE STEERING BECAME VERY STIFF AND THE THROTTLE UNCONTROLLABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS ESSENTIALLY OUT OF CONTROL. WE TOOK IT TO A DEALER FOUR TIMES, EACH TIME IT WASN'T FIXED. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT A DEALER AND FCA IS TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT. I HEARD THE MECHANIC SAY THEY HAD OTHERS THAT WERE DOING THIS. FCA REFUSES TO DESCRIBE WHAT THE PROBLEM MIGHT BE TO ME BECAUSE IT'S PROPRIETARY. THEY ESSENTIALLY WANT TO TRY STUFF, THEN HAVE ME RISK MY LIFE TESTING IT TO SEE IF IT WORKS. THE PHOTO IS THE SECOND TIME IT HAPPENED, ON AN INTERSTATE GOING STRAIGHT. THIS IS A 2019 WRANGLER RUBICON WITH 12K MILES AND COMPLETELY STOCK. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS DEFECT AND FCA DOESN'T KNOW OR DOESN'T WANT TO SAY WHAT IT IS. THEY SOUND LIKE THEY ARE TRYING TO COVER UP THE PROBLEM WITH SOME SORT OF HACKED UP SOFTWARE FIX, BUT THE SOFTWARE HAS BEEN COMPLETELY UPDATED. I AM WORRIED THAT SOMEONE WILL BE HURT OR WORSE IF THIS HAPPENS TO THEM.
Vehicle has been leading to the right since I bought the vehicle. It is now very worse, and has cause a near miss collision with right side object. There is now severe drifting to the right, the original dealer has denied the issue since day one. Now it has been confirmed by another dealer that the steering gear box needs to be replaced by the new steel product steering gear box.
THIS VEHICLE WAS BOUGHT USED ON 5/17 IT WAS THE DEALERSHIPS RENTAL BEFORE.DRIVING FOR THE FIRST TIME ON THE HIGHWAY ON 6/19 AT HIGHWAY SPEED VEHICLE HAD SUDDEN DEATH WOBBLE IT WAS SCARY FEELING THE WHOLE FRONT END OF THE JEEP SHAKE SIDE TO SIDE. MADE IT HOME SAFELY AND SAW THE V41 RECALL WAS INSTALLED INCORRECTLY. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP ONCE THEY WERE OPEN ON 6/22 AND WAS TOLD IT WAS DEATH WOBBLE AND GIVEN A RENTAL CAR. ON 6/24 I WAS TOLD THE PART NEEDED IS ON BACKORDER. INCLUDING A PICTURE SHOWING THE PART WAS INSTALLED WRONG . THEY ALSO SAID IT WAS INSTALLED ON 9/19 WHEN THE UPDATED INSTRUCTIONS WERE SENT OUT ON. 6/19 AND CLEARLY MANAGED TO INSTALL INCORRECTLY. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. THE STEERING DAMPER FIX IS JUST THAT A BANDAID NOT A ACTUAL FIX AT ALL SINCE THERE ARE REPORTS OF IT HAPPENING AFTER IT'S INSTALLED . MY JEEP IS ALL STOCK. *TR
