MY WRANGLER HAS A PULL TO THE RIGHT SINCE THE DAY I BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW IN OCTOBER 2019. IT HAS LESS THAN 6000 MILES ON IT AND IS UNMODIFIED. I'VE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER 5 TIMES FOR THIS SPECIFIC ISSUE. THEY'VE REPLACE THE FRONT AXEL AND DONE ALIGNMENTS. IT STILL PULLS SLIGHTLY TO THE RIGHT. THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID IT'S "A CHARACTERISTIC" OF THE JL WRANGLERS (2018 AND UP), TO PULL TO THE RIGHT. HE CLAIMS THAT THEY ALL PULL TO RIGHT AND IT'S NORMAL FOR THE WRANGLER NOT TO GO IN A STRAIGHT LINE. I WAS TOLD THERE'S NOTHING ELSE TO BE DONE AND THAT I JUST HAVE TO ACCEPT THAT THE CAR WILL NOT GO IN A STRAIGHT LINE. *TR
IT WAS A BIGHT SUNNY AFTERNOON WHEN I WAS DRIVING MY NEW 2019 JEEP HOME FROM THE DEALER, WITH ONLY 39 MILES ON THE MOTOR, I PULLED DOWN THE SUN VISOR WHILE DRIVING TO BLOCK THE SUN...THE VISOR FELL OUT OF THE MOUNTING BRACKET, HANGING BY THE WIRE CONNECTING THE LIGHTS FOR THE MIRROR, BLOCKING ABOUT 3/4 OF THE WINDSHIELD, AND OBSTRUCTING MY VIEW WHILE DRIVING 100%. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER & PUSH IT BACK INTO THE MOUNTING BRACKET, ONLY TO HAVE IT FALL OUT WHEN HITTING ANY BUMP, NO MATTER THE SPEED. IT EVEN FELL DOWN WHEN GOING OVER A SPEED BUMP IN THE PARKING LOT I HAD PULLED INTO AT LESS THAN 5 MPH. THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO THE PASSENGER SIDE VISOR AFTER HAVING THE DRIVER'S SIDE REPLACED BY THE DEALERSHIP. I HAD READ ABOUT THIS SAME COMPLAINT ON THE NHTSA 'S WEBSITE. NOT SURE HOW THIS ISN'T A RECALL GIVEN THE DRIVER'S VIEW BEING OBSTRUCTED 100% WITHOUT WARNING. THE DEALERSHIP DIDN'T SEEM TO SURPRISED BY THIS DEFECT, AND SAID IT WAS "COMMON"...HELLO?!?!?
ALWAYS CORRECTING STEERING, IT DRIFTS RIGHT TO LEFT AND BACK ON HIGHWAY. THEY REPLACE THE STABILIZER ABOUT A MONTH AGO. DID NOT HELP.
STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN, THE "D" INSIGNIA ON THE SHIFTER TO TRANSMISSION STARTED FLASHING, I REMOVED MY FOOT FROM THE BRAKE, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE TRIED TO ACCELERATE, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE. HAD TO SHIFT THE VEHICLE FROM DRIVE TO NEUTRAL AND THEN BACK TO DRIVE, IN ORDER FOR VEHICLE TO ENGAGE THE TRANSMISSION THEN ACCELERATED AND THE VEHICLE MOVED IF I WOULD HAVE BEEN IN A HIGHWAY SITUATION, AND BRAKED THEN TRIED TO MOVE THIS MAY HAVE CAUSED A REAR-END CRASH. THIS VEHICLE IS DANGEROUS WITH THE OTHER RECALLS I HAVE HAD ON THIS VERY VEHCLE! *TR
DURING LOW SPEED AND HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE STEERING FEELS LOOSE. IT WILL NOT TRACK STRAIGHT AND HAS A TENDENCY TO "ROAD WALK" CAUSING THE DRIVER TO CONTINUALLY MONITOR AND CORRECT THE PATH OF THE JEEP. HE JEEP WILL SUDDENLY CHANGE DIRECTION WHEN THE ROAD SURFACE CHANGES PITCH CAUSING THE JEEP TO QUICKLY VEER TO THE NEXT LANE OR GUARD RAIL. THERE APPEARS TO BE A DEAD SPOT IN THE STEERING OF ABOUT 3 INCHES FROM RIGHT TO LEFT. ON LEVEL SURFACE THE VEHICLE REQUIRES CONSTANT PATH CORRECTIONS. *TR
STEERING TRACKS TO THE RIGHT. IF DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY, I WOULD BE OFF THE ROAD IN A MATTER OF SECONDS. CONSTANTLY HAVING TO CORRECT THE STEERING BY HOLDING THE WHEEL AT 11 O'CLOCK. FCA REPLACED THE STABILIZER IN SEPTEMBER 2019. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN DECEMBER 2019 FROM A JEEP DEALERSHIP. THERE A KNOWN PROBLEM, TRIED A "BAND-AID" SOLUTION, AND PASSED ON THE PROBLEMS TO THE NEXT OWNER, ME. THE VEHICLE IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY AND THE DEALERSHIP WANTS ME TO PAY A DIAGNOSTIC FEE. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT TWICE. BOTH TIMES THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FIXED, NOW THE THIRD TIME, I AM ASKED TO PAY A DIAGNOSTIC FEE TO TRY TO SOLVE A PROBLEM THEY DID NOT FIX TWICE BEFORE. I CONTACTED FCA DIRECTLY AND THEY ARE IN COMMUNICATIONS WITH THE DEALERSHIP FOR ME. I AM FRUSTRATED BECAUSE THE VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. THIS IS A WELL DOCUMENTED ISSUE WITH JEEP BUT OWNERS ARE BEING DENIED SOLUTIONS. *TR
WE PURCHASED OUR 2019 JEEP WRANGLER IN MAY 2020. WE NOTICED AN ISSUE WITH THE STEERING BEING VERY "LOOSE" WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS IN CITY AND ON THE HIGHWAY. A SLIGHT CORRECTION TO THE WHEEL MAKES A HUGE DIRECTIONAL CHANGE WHILE DRIVING. THE JEEP SEEMS TO HAVE A MIND OF ITS OWN. WE MENTIONED THIS TO THE DEALERSHIP A WEEK AFTER PURCHASING THE JEEP AND WAS GIVEN THE EXPLANATION THAT IT IS A JEEP AND MADE FOR OFF-ROADING...IF THEY LOOK AT IT (UNDER WARRANTY) WE WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR A DIAGNOSTIC CHARGE. SINCE THEN WE HAVE DONE SOME INVESTIGATING AND FOUND EXACTLY THE SAME COMPLAINTS AS WE ARE EXPERIENCING. THE JEEP IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND A SOLUTION NEEDS TO BE FOUND BEFORE SOMEONE GETS SERIOUSLY HURT AND/OR DIES.
WHILE DRIVING AT 60 MPH OVER S SUSPENSION JOINT ON A BRIDGE, THE VEHICLE STARTED SHAKING VIOLENTLY AND WAS UNABLE TO CONTROL VEHICLE UNTIL THE SPEED DROPPED TO 35 MPH. I HAVE ALREADY HAD THE RECALL DONE TO THE VEHICLE TO REPLACE THE STABILIZER BAR, AND THE PROBLEM IS STILL CONTINUING TO OCCUR ANY TIME I TRAVEL OVER AN EXPANSION JOINT OR EVEN A BUMP IN THE ROADWAY. *TR
Above 65, if I hit a bump, my Jeep gets the "Death Wobble" reported in many other Jeeps. I am scheduled to have the Damper replaced, but many forums state this is only a band-aid and will wear out or won't truly fix the problem.
BATTERY HAS GONE COMPLETELY DEAD THREE TIME IN TWO MONTHS. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING LEFT ON OR PLUGGED IN. CANNOT START BY JUMPING. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING VEHICLE 6.2 MILES AT LEAST EVERY OTHER DAY TO TRY AND KEEP THINGS WORKING, TO NO AVAIL. DEALER REPLACED BATTERY ONE TIME, BUT WENT DEAD LESS THAN A WEEK LATER. *TR
I HAVE BEEN TO DODGE SEVERAL TIMES FOR THESE ISSUES THEY ALWAYS TELL ME NOTHING WRONG WITH VEHICLE. THE CAR PULLS TO ONE SIDE WHEN DRIVING ITS VERY WOBBLY. ALSO I HAVE TAKEN IT IN BECAUSE THE JEEP IS USING UP COOLANT TOO FAST. THEY TOPPED OFF COOLANT FOR ME LESS THAN A WEEK LATER COOLANT RESERVOIR IS EMPTY. THEY TELL ME NOTHING WRONG NO ISSUE JUST KNOWN TO HAPPEN WITH JEEPS. *TR
WHILE DRIVE FOR 30 MINUTES THE JEEP HAS A COMPLETE MALFUNCTION WITH ALL ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS AND WAS UNABLE TO SHUT OFF ENGINE, AND ABS, POWER STEERING, GEAR SHIFTER, ELECTRICAL GAUGES, AUTO START STOP ENGINE SHUT OFF AND NAVIGATION SYSTEM. JEEP ONLY HAS 3800 MILES ON IT. MY FAMILY OF 5 WERE ALL IN THE VEHICLE ON THE FREEWAY WHEN THE JEEP ELECTRICAL SYSTEM STARTED SHUTTING OFF AND ON. WE PULLED INTO OUR STREET AND THE JEEP WOULD NOT SHIFT GEARS OR TURN OFF THE ENGINE. THIS PUT US IN AN UNSAFE POSITION NOT KNOW IF THE VEHICLE WAS GOING LOOSE CONTROL. I PULLED OVER BUT THE JEEP WOULD NOT SHIFT AND ENDED UP BLOCKING TRAFFIC. WE FELT UNSAFE AND ANY SPEED, VERY SCARY FOR OUR FAMILY. THE VEHICLE HAS HAD A SLIGHT PULL TO THE RIGHT SINCE DRIVING OFF THE LOT BRAND NEW. I WAS TOLD TO LET THE SUSPENSION SETTLE BEFORE BRINGING IT FOR AN ALIGNMENT. I'VE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER 3 TIMES NOW AN HAVE LESS THEN 5000 MILES ON IT. I'VE BEEN TOLD THAT THE ALIGNMENT IS WITHIN SPECIFICATIONS AND THAT ALL JEEP WRANGLERS HAVE A PULL TO ONE SIDE OR THE OTHER. THE DEALERSHIP AS TOLD MED THAT IT'S NORMAL FOR A WRANGLER NOT TO GO IN A STRAIGHT LINE AND IN THEIR EXPERIENCE, THIS IS AS GOOD AS IT GETS. I DON'T THINK IT'S TOO MUCH TO ASK THAT A BRAND NEW VEHICLE DRIVE IN A STRAIGHT LINE.
ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS SINCE BUYING THE JEEP A MONTH AGO, WE CAN BE DRIVING AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE COLLISION ALERT SOUNDS AND THE VEHICLE SLAMS ON THE BRAKES AND THERE IS NOTHING IN FRONT OF YOU. THIS HAPPENED TODAY WHILE MY WIFE WAS STARTING FROM A STOPLIGHT WITH NO TRAFFIC IN FRONT OF HER AND THEN IT ENGAGED THE BRAKES AND ALMOST CAUSED HER TO BE REARENDED. ON THE OTHER TIMES I WAS DRIVING USUALLY AROUND 45-55 MILS PER HOUR AND IT AUTOMATICALLY ENGAGES AND SLAMS ON THE BRAKES EVEN THOUGH NOTHING IS IN FRONT OF YOU.
THERE IS PLAY IN THE STEERING WHEEL ESPECIALLY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS (ABOVE 60 MPH) AND THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE GETTING WORSE. IT WAS ALWAYS LOSE BUT THE SEVERITY WAS NOTICED ON A 1200 MILE ROAD TRIP AND CONTINUES TO BE AN ISSUE. THIS ISSUE CAUSES THE DRIVER TO CONSTANTLY ADJUST THE STEERING WHEEL AND FEELS LIKE YOU DO NOT HAVE COMPLETE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. ALONG WITH THE CONSTANT ADJUSTING, IN ORDER TO GO STRAIGHT THE STEERING WHEEL IS ABOUT A DEGREE OFF FROM CENTER. THIS LOSE STEERING MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO STAY IN THE LANES WHILE DRIVING AND IS A SAFETY HAZARD THAT NEEDS FIXED AND A RECALL NEEDS TO BE ISSUED.
WHILE DRIVING 70 ON INTERSTATE 95 THE VEHICLE STARTED TO SHAKE IMMENSELY. HAD TO IMMEDIATELY BRING THE VEHICLE TO A SPEED OF 35 TO STOP. THIS ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT WITH THE VEHICLE BEHIND AS THEY HAD TO BRAKE AND VEER INTO ANOTHER LANE TO AVOID IT. I AM IN PALM BEACH FL AND WILL BE BRINGING TO DEALER RIGHT AWAY. THE VEHICLE IS A 2019 WITH 13K MILES WHICH I JUST PURCHASED LAST WEEK.
AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WHEN GOING OVER APPROACH TO BRIDGE ,POTHOLE ,EVEN ROAD REFLECTORS JEEP WRANGLERS2 DOORS CAN GO INTO A VIOLENT SHAKING OF STEERING WHEEL AND FRONT TIRES AND SUSPENSION. THE DEALERS CALL IT THE DEATH WOBBLE.IF YOU HIT YOUR BRAKES ITS EVEN WORSE. YOU MUST JUST HANG ON AND RELEASE YOUR GAS PEDAL TILL IT FINALLY COMES UNDER CONTROL. THIS WOLD BE ESPECIALY DANGEROUS DURING RAIN OR WORSE ICE OR SNOW .JEEP SHOULD BE ABLE TO ADD A STABILIZER OR SOMETHING TO THE SUSPENSION TO CONTROL THIS CONDITION. IF THEY CAN NAME IT THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO FIX IT.
THE VEHICLE HAS HAD A SLIGHT PULL SINCE DRIVING OFF THE LOT, BRAND NEW 37 MILES. IT WANDERS TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROAD. IF YOU HAVE TO DO A PANIC STEER IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE NOT TO LOOSE CONTROL AT FREEWAY SPEEDS. I HAVE REQUESTED AN ALIGNMENT AND BALANCE CHECK FROM THE DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP HAS TOLD ME THIS IS THE NEW 'NORMAL' FOR THE WRANGLERS. I DO NOT THINK IT IS TOO MUCH TO ASK FOR A BRAND NEW, $53,000.00 VEHICLE TO DRIVE IN A STRAIGHT LINE WITHOUT CONSTANT STEERING INPUT OR BE ABLE TO PASS WITHOUT FEAR OF LOOSING CONTROL. ESPECIALLY NEW WITH NOW 1,500 MILES ON IT.
BOUGHT USED WITH 17,000 MILES. HAD FACTORY STEERING DAMPER REPLACED DUE TO RECALL WITHIN 1ST WEEK OF HAVING VEHICLE. MAIN ISSUE IS THAT SINCE PURCHASE, AT HWY SPEEDS VEHICLE HAS LOOSE STEERING AND UNRESPONSIVE STEERING INPUT. MANY SMALL CORRECTIONS NEEDED TO KEEP VEHICLE IN STRAIGHT LINE. VEHICLE HAS SEVERAL INCHES OF PLAY IN STEERING WHEEL BEFORE WHEELS MOVE.
MY DRIVER'S SIDE VISOR BROKE 2 WEEKS AFTER PURCHASING, IT WAS REPLACED, NOW MY PASSENGER SIDE VISOR HAS BROKEN TOO. IT IS THE JOINT THAT HOLDS IT TO THE CEILING. THE DEALER IS STATING THAT I BROKE IT INTENTIONALLY, ALL MY WIFE DID WAS PULL IT DOWN TO LOOK IN THE MIRROR AND IT BROKE.. THIS IS A VERY POOR DESIGN. I HAVE READ ABOUT MANY OTHER PEOPLE WITH THE SAME ISSUE.
DRIVING ON INTERSTATE 90 IN NEW YORK STATE, AT APPROXIMATELY 70 MILES PER HOUR, MULTIPLE TIMES AFTER HITTING A PATCH ON THE ROAD OR A POT HOLE, MY VEHICLE AND STEERING WHEEL STARTED TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO SLOW DOWN ENOUGH FOR THE VIBRATION TO STOP.
STEERING IS WANDERING WHEEL. THE STEERING PULLS TO THE RIGHT, SLIGHTLY. WHEN CORRECTING THERE IS AN UNRESPONSIVE DISTANCE FOR THE STEERING WHEEL, THAT CAUSES THE DRIVER TO OVER CORRECT. THEN THE DRIVER HAS TO CORRECT GOING AGAIN, TO THE RIGHT. IT DOES NOT DRIVE STRAIGHT. NOTICE WHEN DRIVING, MORE SEVERE AT HIGHER HIGHWAY SPEEDS, I.E. 70 MPH. PURCHASE DATE 02/15/2020.
WHEN ON FREEWAY AT 60-70 MPH, STEERING WHEEL BEGINS TO VIBRATE VIOLENTLY. ONCE SPEED IS REDUCED, IT STOPS. HAS HAPPENED 4 TIMES WITHIN LAST 6 MONTHS, ONCE WHILE BEING TOWED BEHIND MOTORHOME. ALSO DESCRIBED BY MANY OTHERS AS "DEATH WOBBLE". *TR
2019 JEEP JL RUBICON 2 DOOR EXHIBITS LOOSE STEERING AND CONSEQUENTLY WANDERS FROM LEFT TO RIGHT DEPENDING UPON CONDITION OF THE ROAD OR WHETHER BRAKES ARE BEING APPLIED. DIFFICULT TO MAINTAIN LANE AT TIMES WHEN TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS OR WHEN UNDER SEVERE BRAKING. WHEN LOOKING AT STEERING SHAFT INTO THE STEERING BOX, IT IS POSSIBLE TO SEE FREE MOTION BEFORE NOTICING MOVEMENT ON THE OUTPUT STEERING BOX SHAFT.
CAN'T KEEP IT BETWEEN THE LINES WHEN ON THE HIGHWAY STEERING WHEEL VERY LOOSE. *TR
ONGOING ISUE WITH DEATH WOBBLE BROUGHT BACK TO THE DEALER FOR A THIRD TIME AND THEY CHANGED OUT THE STEERING DAMPENER ASSURING ME THAT THIS WOULD SOLVE THE ISSUE WHILE DRIVING AT 50MPH ON RTE 290 AUBURN MA VEHICLE HIT A BUMP ON THE HIGHWAY AND STARTED THE WHOLE JEEP SHAKING AND CAUSING AN UNSAFE CONDITION
AFTER GOING TO DEALERSHIP AND GETTING DEATH WOBBLE FIXED VEHICLE BY REMOVING AND REINSTALLING THE STEERING DAMPENER THE CORRECT WAY AND EXHIBITED THE SAME ISSUE AND ONCE AGAIN ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT VEHICLE TRAVELLING AT 50 MPH ON HIGHWAY 290 HOLY CROSS CORNER AND VEHICLE STARTED TO SHAKE AND WOBBLE UNCONTROLLABLY HAD TO SLOW DOWN TO 30MPH TO MAKE THE PROBLEM GO AWAY CALLED DEALERSHIP AND THEY STATED THAT THEY WOULD NEED TO ORDER A NEW STEERING DAMPENER
WITH ONLY 266 MILES ON THE WRANGLER, THE AUTOMATIC 8 SPEED TRANSMISSION COMPLETELY FAILED WHILE TRYING TO ACCELERATE ONTO THE FREEWAY. IT BECAME VERY JERKY AND APPEARD TO BE DOWN SHIFTING WHILE ACCELERATING. I STOPPED ON THE SHOULDER, TURNED OFF THE ENGINE. TURNED ON THE ENGINE AND ATTEMPTED TO MANUALLY SHIFT THE TRANSMISSION. I GOT UP TO 3RD GEAR AND THEN IT STARTED DOWN SHIFTING AGAIN. I COULD NOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE ON THE FREEWAY AND I WAS LUCKY TO NOT BE BLOCKING A LANE WHICH COULD HAVE RESULTED IN A REAR END COLISSION. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. THE D ON THE CENTER COUNSEL WAS BLINKING. I PULLED OVER AND STOPPED THE ENGINE. I STARTED THE ENGINE AGAIN AND TRIED TO BACK UP A FEW FEET AND IT ACTED LIKE IT WAS IN NEUTRAL AND WOULD NOT MOVE. THE R ON THE COUNSEL WAS ALSO BLINKING. I WAS AFFRAID TO CONTINUE DRIVING THE WRANGLER AND HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER THAT SOLD ME THE CAR LESS THAN 7 DAYS EARLIER. IT HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR 6 DAYS AND AS FAR AS I KNOW THEY HAVE CONTACTED THE FACTORY FOR ADVISE ON HOW TO REPAIR THE TRANSMISSION. THEY ARE WAITING FOR TOOLS SO THEY CAN BEGIN THE REPAIR. THIS IS A 4 DOOR RUBICON WITH THE 2.0 LITER ETROQUE TURBO ENGINE. I PURCHASED THE JEEP NEW ON JAN 30TH, 2020.THE MANUFACTURING DATE ON THE DOOR JAM INDICATES THIS JEEP WAS MANUFACTURED IN JULY 2019, I THINK ON THE 26TH.
WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED 50MPH ON RTE 290 AT COLLEGE SQUARE CORNER VEHICLE FELT LIKE WHEELS WERE GOING TO FALL OFF LOT OF SHAKING AND ALMOST LOST CONTROL VERY DANGEROUS SLOWED DOWN TO 30MPH AND VIBRATIONS SUBSIDED THIS HAS HAPPEND ONCE BEFORE ON SAME DAY JEEP WRANGLER HAS 500 MILES ON IT DEALER "PUTNAM JEEP" HAS BEEN CALLED AND WILL BE BRINGING JEEP INTO SHOP ASAP
I WENT TO THE DEALER TO FIX A STEERING ISSUE WITH THE CAR. THE CAR PULLS TO THE RIGHT WHILE DRIVING AND I WOULD BE MARKING THE CORRECTION OF THE CAR. SO, I LEFT THE CAR WITH THEM FOR 10 HOURS. THE DEALER PERFORMED ADJUSTMENTS ON THE TOE DUE TO SLIGHLY OUT OF SPECIFICATIONS AND ALIGNMENT. THE DEALER SAID THAT THE PROBLEM IS FIXED. BUT WHEN I DROVE IT HOME, THE PROBLEM IS STILL EXIST. I BROUGHT IT UP TO THEM AGAIN, AND THEY SAID THAT IT'S NORMAL FOR IT TO BE DOING SO. ALSO, THE STEERING WHEEL IS NOT IN CENTER.
THE STEERING ON THE 2 DOOR WRANGLER JL IS VERY VAGUE WITH SIGNIFICANT PLAY . IT TAKES A MUCH EFFORT TO KEEP THE VEHICLE STRAIGHT AND TRUE IN A LANE.
THE JEEP WANDERS ALL OVER THE ROAD AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, DEAD SPORTS IN THE STEERING WHEN COLD, LOTS OF PLAY IN THE STEERING BOX, STEERING INPUT HAS AN EXTREMELY DELAYED RESPONSE ON THE HIGHWAY
THE VISOR BREAKS AND HANGS DOWN IN THE VIEW OF THE DRIVER. THIS CAUSES THE DRIVER TO NOT BE ABLE TO SEE THE ON COMING TRAFFIC.
WHEN TRAVELING AROUND 65 MPH ON A CHICAGOLAND EXPRESSWAY, THE VEHICLE HIT A SMALL UNEVEN PORTION OF THE ROADWAY (I.E. SMALL BUMP OR HOLE) AND VEHICLE STARTED THE KNOWN "WRANGLER DEATH WOBBLE", "...A BYPRODUCT OF THE WRANGLER'S SOLID FRONT AXLE DESIGN, AND CAN CAUSE THE STEERING WHEEL TO VIOLENTLY SHAKE AFTER HITTING A BUMP OR OTHER ROAD IMPERFECTION AT HIGHER SPEEDS..." SO, I HAD TO SLOW DOWN WHILE IN THE THIRD LANE FROM THE RIGHT, CONTINUE TO SLOW DOWN (I.E. AROUND 40 MPH) WHILE CHANGING LANES TO THE RIGHT, AND AFTER ABOUT 30 SECONDS THE WOBBLE STOPPED AND THEN I HAD FULL CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AGAIN. THIS APPEARS TO BE A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION WITH THE VEHICLE. 5,743 MILES ON THE VEHICLE.
MY JEEP HAS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. THE VEHICLE HAS TO MUCH PLAY IN THE STEERING WHEEL. BECAUSE OF THIS, THE VEHICLE WANDERS BACK AND FORTH IN THE ROAD.TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM YOU HAVE TO CONSTANTLY TURN THE WHEEL BACK AND FORTH. THE PROBLEM IS EXACERBATED WITH SPEED, SO AT HIGHWAY IT IS SO UNSAFE, YOU FELL LIKE YOU ARE GOING TO DIE.THE VEHICLE HAS SERIOUS STEERING BOX ISSUE. THE VEHICLE IS SO UNSAFE I WILL NOT LET ANYONE DRIVE THIS VEHICLE.
WHILE DRIVING ALONG THE INTERSTATE 12/14/19 AT A SPEED IN THE 70MPH RANGE THE JEEP WOULD SHAKE VIOLENTLY WHEN IT WENT OVER ROUGH ROAD OR A BRIDGE. MY DAUGHTER SAYS SHE HAD TO HOLD ON TO THE STEERING WHEEL AND SLOW DOWN IN TRAFFIC. SHE SAYS IT ALSO HAPPENED ON THE RETURN TRIP 12/17/19. MY WIFE HAD AN EPISODE YESTERDAY 1/27/19 AFTER PICKING UP THE JEEP FROM SERVICE IN WHICH THEY REPLACED THE WARRANTY RECALLED JL STEERING DAMPER (PHOTO OF INVOICE ATTACHED). SHE WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AND HIT A BUMPY SPOT. SHE SAID IT STARTED SHAKING AND WAS SCARED SHE WAS GOING TO LOSE CONTROL WHILE SLOWING DOWN ON THE INTERSTATE. AFTER RESEARCHING ON THE INTERNET I AM LEARNING OF THE "DEATH WOBBLE" AS THEY CALL IT. WE HAD A 2014 JEEP WRANGLER FOR 5 YEARS AND OVER 100K MILES AND NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS. IT IS NOT SAFE. I LEFT A VM THIS MORNING WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER AT ED VOYLES IN MARIETTA, GA.
UNABLE TO DISABLE SIRIUSXM TRAVEL LINK WEATHER ALERTS. THEY BLOCK THE WHOLE SCREEN AND DISTRACT THE DRIVER BECAUSE THEY FORCE THEM TO MAKE A RESPONSE. SOME MANUFACTURERS WITH XM ALLOW ALERTS TO BE DISABLED, BUT FCA DOESN'T. THESE ALERTS ARE OFTEN IRRELEVANT- I'VE SEEN SOME FOR AREAS OVER 100 MILES AWAY. I'VE RESEARCHED THIS ONLINE, AND FOUND THAT IT IS A VERY COMMON SAFETY COMPLAINT FOR FCA VEHICLE OWNERS.
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR THE STEERING HAS ROUGHLY 1.5 INCH PLAY IN THE WHEEL TO EITHER SIDE THAT MAKES THE CAR FEEL LIKE IT IS FLOATING ACROSS THE ROAD. IT IS VERY NOTICEABLE WHEN THERE IS WIND AS IT TAKES LARGE CORRECTIONS ON THE WHEEL TO KEEP THE CAR IN THE LANE.
SECOND ATTEMPT AT RECALL BY DEALER, DEALER IS CLAIMING FAULTY PARTS BY FCA. WITHIN 12 MILES OF DRIVING THE JEEP AFTER RECALL WAS COMPLETED FOR A SECOND TIME DEATH WOBBLE IS BACK. HAPPENS WHEN GOING OVER BRIDGES ON HIGHWAY AT AROUND 72 MPH. EXTERIOR TEMP 31. SHAKE HAPPENS TILL SPEED IS DROPPED TO BELOW 60 MPH.
STEERING ON ROAD WORSE ON HIGHWAY HAVE TO KEEP BOTH HANDS ON WHEEL DUE TO CAR DRIFTING FROM LEFT TO RIGHT. SCARY! 2. CRUISE CONTROL WON'T ENGAGE, HAVE TO PRESS SETTINGS AGAIN. WHEN PRESS SET THEN + FOR SPEED VERY DELAYED BEFORE ENGAGES AND PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT. 3. INSIDE MANUAL DOOR LOCKS DO NOT WORK. WON'T LOCK OR UNLOCK . STEERING/WANDERING ISSUE WITH 2019 UNLIMITED SPORT STOCK TIRES/CONFIGURATION. SEEMS DANGEROUS ON THE ROAD. DIFFICULT TO DRIVE AND RETURN TO STRAIGHT AFTER TURNING. WON'T GO BACK TO STRAIGHT AFTER TURNING AND SEEMS TO BE A LOT OF SLACK IN THE STEERING.
AT 70MPHON THE HIGHWAY, WRANGLER WAS SHAKING ITSELF APART, IT BECAME EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE (WRANGLER 2019 TWO DOOR). HITTING A BUMP (ROAD AND BRIDGE SHIFT OF MATERIAL). HAD TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP FOR IT TO STOP TO EXTREME VIBRATION. THIS ISSUE HAPPENED ONCE AND DEALER STATE " THAT IT WAS FIXED". WHOEVER ON 9 JAN 2020 DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY IT HAPPENED THREE MORE TIMES (THREE TIMES WORST THEN THE FIRST TIME).LUCKY THAT NO ONE GOT INJURED OR KILLED AND CAR DAMAGES. THIS WRANGLER IS AN UNSAFE VEHICLE
WHEN DRIVING ABOVE 25 MILES PER HOUR THERE IS SHIMMYING, WOBBLING, LOOSE PLAY, IN THE STEERING WHEEL AND HARD TO KEEP ON THE ROAD. IT IS IN MOTION AND ON THE ROAD. HIGHWAY MORE THAN CITY STREETS.
PURCHASED A 2019 JEEP WRANGLER JL ON 01/03/2020. HIT A BUMP AS I PULLED OUT OF THE DEALERSHIP AND THE FRONT WHEEL BEGAN TO "WOBBLE" ALONG WITH THE STEERING WHEEL. IT STOPPED WHEN THE VEHICLE STOPPED. TWO DAYS LATER TRAVELLING AT ABOUT 40 MPH, HIT A SMALL POTHOLE IN THE ROAD AND IT DID IT AGAIN. I CHECKED THE TRACK ARM, WHICH MAY CAUSE THIS ISSUE BUT IT APPEARS THE WELD IS GOOD AND THE BOLTS ARE TIGHT. HAPPENED AGAIN YESTERDAY AS THE WIFE WAS DRIVING. SHE DROVE OVER A BRIDGE AND AS SHE CROSSED ONTO IT OVER THE JOINT, IT BEGAN AGAIN. STOPPED AS SHE SLOWED DOWN. SEARCHED FOR SIMILAR COMPLAINTS AND THERE ARE MANY SIMILAR COMPLAINTS. IT MAY HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE STEERING BOX, WHICH JEEP KNOWS ABOUT BUT WON'T REPLACE WITHOUT A HASSLE. NO DAMAGE OR INJURIES (YET).
EXPERIENCING INTERMITTENT LOSS OF STEERING ASSIST AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 40 AND 75 MPH. WHEN ISSUE OCCURS, VEHICLE CAN STILL BE STEERED BUT WITH GREAT EFFORT. THE ISSUE LASTS UP TO SEVERAL MINUTES THEN SPONTANEOUSLY RESOLVES. TYPICALLY HAPPENS WHEN DRIVING STRAIGHT BUT LASTS INTO TURNS. DEALER IS CLOSED NOW BUT WILL BE SCHEDULING SERVICE MONDAY, 1/6/20.

I OWN. A 2019 JEEP WRANGLER JV. WITH 17000 MILES ON IT. NO MODIFICATION WHILE DRIVING IN THE FREEWAY AT 70 MILES A HOUR JUST PASS A BRIDE HIT A BRIDE STRAPPING BUMP THE JEEP WAS ALMOST OUT CONTROL EXTREME SHAKING OF THE STEERING WHEEL AND VEHICLE. I TENSE UP FOR FEARS OF LOSING CONTROL I HAVE TO SLOW DOWN TO 30 MPH FOR IT TO STOP. THIS SCARY.. WHEN YOU HAVE YOU FAMILY WITH YOU.
WHILE DRIVING AT SPEEDS ABOVE 20 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY THE CAR GOES INTO A DEATH WOBBLE WHERE IT FEELS LIKE THE CAR IS GOING TO FALL APART. THE CAR SHAKES AND THE STEERING ABILITY BECOMES UNSTABLE. THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKES WITH THE CAR AND WE NEED TO GET TO THE SHOULDER AND STOP. IT HAPPENS RANDOMLY AND AT VARIABLE SPEEDS. THE DEALER TRIES TO APPEASE US WITH FIXES THAT DO NOTHING TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THEY CLAIM THAT IT IS NOT DANGEROUS AND DOES NOT DO ANYTHING TO THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE CAR. THE CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW A FEW MONTHS AGO AND IT HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO THE DEALER THREE TIMES FOR THIS ISSUE WITHOUT ANY FIX (MOST RECENTLY DECEMBER 24, 2019) WHERE THEY CHANGED OUT A STEERING DAMPER BASED UPON A RECALL. THIS DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM.FOLLOWING THAT WE WERE DRIVING THE CAR ON VACATION THROUGH THE DESERT AND THE CAR WENT INTO A DEATH WOBBLE 10 TIMES WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY. UPON RETURNING HOME WE CONTACTED THE DEALER AND INFORMED THEM OF THESE MULTIPLE EPISODES. THE VEHICLE IS GOING BACK IN ON JANUARY 6, 2020. AT THIS POINT THE CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. WE WERE NOT INFORMED PRIOR TO OUR PURCHASE ABOUT THIS DANGEROUS ISSUE WITH THE WRANGLER.
WE STARTED OUT OUR ISSUES WITH THE JEEP ABOUT A MONTH AFTER WE GOT IT. THE STEERING STABILIZER HAD A RECALL AND WE HAD MULTIPLE TIMES THAT THE STEERING WENT INTO A WOBBLE. AFTER THE STABILIZER WAS REPLACED TWO TIMES, THAT PROBLEM SEEMED TO HAVE WENT AWAY. OUR NEXT PROBLEM STARTED ON OUR WAY HOME. IT NOW DRIFTS ALL OVER THE ROAD, WE ARE CONSTANTLY HAVING TO COUNTER ACT THE MOVEMENT. *TR
