2011 KIA SORENTO - WHILE DRIVING 60MPH THE CAR RESISTS SPEEDING UP, RPMS STAY AT 2 NO MATTER THE SPEED. WHILE DRIVING RPMS STAY AT ZERO. WHILE SPEEDING UP THE CAR JERKS, CAUSING THE RPMS TO DROP TO ZERO. HAVE TO PULL OVER TURN THE CAR OFF AND START IT AGAIN, IT THEN DRIVES NORMAL. THIS OCCURS ON THE HIGHWAY AND DRIVING AROUND TOWN. INSTANCES WHERE THE CAR IS SPUTTERING WHILE DRIVING IN TOWN AROUND 40MPH THE CAR DIES WHEN I COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THIS HAS OCCURRED MULTIPLE TIMES OVER THE LAST YEAR. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP BUT BECAUSE THEY CAN NOT REPLICATE THE ISSUE THEY SAY THEY CAN NOT REPAIR IT.
FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR WILL NOT OPEN WITH OUTSIDE HANDLE. YOU CAN OPEN IT FROM THE INSIDE.
THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT SOCKET KEEPS MELTING AND THE BULB STOPS WORKING I ALREADY REPLACED THE SOCKET 2 TIMES. LOOK ONLINE AND THERE ARE A BUNCH OF THE SAME COMPLAINTS.
CAR HAS BEEN IN SHOP SINCE JUNE AWAITING AN ENGINE . I AM TOLD THAT WHEN AND IF I GET AN ENGINE I HAVE TO PAY 6, 500 DOLLARS FOR IT . I KNOW THAT SOME 2011 SORENTOS HAVE A RECALL ON THERE ENGINES . I AM TOLD THAT MY MANUFACTURER HAS NOT PUT A RECALL ON. AFTER WAITING ALL THIS TIME IT SEEMS TO ME THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL. THE VEHICLE JUST SEIZED ON THE HIGHWAY. THAT'S ALL I WAS TOLD. I HAD JUST PURCHASED THIS CAR. HAD IT CHECKED BY A MECHANIC WHO TOLD ME IT WAS FINE. HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER (ALTOONA COURTESY KIA, 401 PLEASANT VALLEY BOULEVARD, ALTOONA, PA 10602) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TIMING CHAIN BLEW OFF THE VALVES AND A NEW ENGINE WAS NEEDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 91,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 KIA SORENTO. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE RECURRED THREE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO SUNTRUP KIA SOUTH (6263 S LINDBERGH BLVD, ST. LOUIS, MO 63123, 314-254-8955) FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 140,000.
REAR SUNROOF SUDDENLY EXPLODED WHILE DRIVING ON I5 NEAR EVERETT, WA. DID NOT SEE ANY TRUCKS OR OBVIOUS SOURCE OF FLYING DEBRIS. UPON EXAMINATION LATER GLASS WAS BULGED OUTWARD. WITH A 6 INCH HOLE MISSING. THE INTERIOR SUN SHIELD KEPT GLASS FROM ENTERING THE CAR OVER OUR GRANDDAUGHTER.
AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON AT 70000 MILES. DEALER RAN A SCAN AND WE WERE TOLD THE PASSENGER OCS MAT WAS BAD. THEY QUOTED US AT $1600 TO FIX. NEEDLESS TO SAY WE ARE NOT HAPPY AS THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE RECALLED.
MY ENGINE WENT OUT ON MY 2011 KIA SORENTO ON JUNE 8, 2018. I WAS GETTING READY TO LEAVE FOR WORK. I WAS BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY. IT SOUNDED VERY ROUGH AND STARTED SHAKING REALLY BAD WHEN I PUT IT IN REVERSE. I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT WAS GOING ON. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I PULLED BACK UP INTO THE DRIVE WAY AND PUT IT IN PARK. IT WAS STILL SHAKING VERY BAD AND SOUNDING VERY ROUGH. I TURNED IT OFF AND CALL A MECHANIC OVER. HE PERFORM A CODE DIAGNOSTIC. THERE WERE ABOUT 10 OR 11 ENGINE CODES THAT POPPED UP ON THE SCREEN. I HAD IT TOWED TO HIS SHOP ON JUNE 13, 2018 TO DO A MORE IN-DEPTH DIAGNOSTIC. IT WAS FOUND THAT THE ENGINE IS NON-REPAIRABLE. FROM THERE, HE HAD IT TOWED TO ADVANCED AUTOMOTIVE DIAGNOSTICS FOR A SECOND OPINION. IT WAS DETERMINED THERE ALSO THAT THE ENGINE IS NON-REPAIRABLE. THERE WAS NO WARNING AND I GOT MY SERVICING IN REASONABLE TIME-SPANS. I AM AT A LOST. I AM STILL PAYING ON A VEHICLE AND CARRYING INSURANCE ON A VEHICLE THAT I CANNOT DRIVE RIGHT NOW. I AM REPORTING THIS BECAUSE I SAW WHERE THE 2012 AND A FEW OTHER YEAR SORENTO'S HAD A ENGINE RECALL. I BELIEVE THAT THE 2011 KIA SORENTO SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUSIVE IN THAT RECALL.
WE HAVE REPLACED THE ALTERNATOR SEVERAL TIMES IN THE PAST YEAR.
THE ELECTRICAL MALFUNCTION OF THE AIRBAG HAS DRAINED AND CAUSED THE BATTERY TO GO DEAD. ALSO HAS MESSED UP THE CONTROLS IN THE STEERING WHEEL.
DRIVERS BACK SIDE DOOR LOCKS AND WILL NOT REOPEN. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD WHEN YOU HAVE CHILDREN. I HAVE CHILDREN THAT GO IN THE BACK SEAT AND ONLY ONE WORKING BACK DOOR IF THERE WAS AN ACCIDENT OR EMERGENCY I CANNOT GET TO MY KIDS IN TIME. MY LOBSTER WORK IN ONE DAY AND THE NEXT DAY WHEN I WENT OUT TO OPEN THE DOOR IT WOULD NO LONGER OPEN. THE CHILDREN'S SAFETY SYSTEM WAS ENGAGED ON THE DOOR SO THAT MY SON CANNOT OPEN IT FROM THE INSIDE. FROM WHAT I'VE READ THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE. PLEASE RECALL AND FIX THIS ISSUE FOR US.
FIRST IT STARTED WITH DRIVERS DOOR NOT WORKING. I CAN'T GET IN THE DRIVER DOOR BECAUSE THE HANDLE DOESN'T WORK. SO I HAVE BEEN CRAWLING THRU THE PASSENGER DOOR TO GET IN THE CAR. BUT NOW I CAN'T DO THAT BECAUSE THE PASSENGER DOOR WON'T OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE EITHER. YOU PULL ON THE DOOR HANDLE AND IT DOES NOTHING. WHAT IF THERE WERE A FIRE AND I WAS IN THE CAR AND SOMEONE RAN UP TO GET ME OUT THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO OPEN THE DOORS. NEXT PROBLEM IS I HAVE AN EXTENSIVE OIL LEAK IN THE CAR. SO BAD IT KEEPS DRIPPING DOWN ON THE ALTERNATOR WHICHECK HAS FORCED ME TO REPLACE THAT TWICE NOW. I TOOK IT TO KIA AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE TIMING CHAIN COVER. IT WOULD COST 2,000.00 TO FIX. I LOOKED ONLINE AND FOUND OUT THAT A LOT OF OTHER PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE AND IT SEEMS THE TIMING CHAIN COVER IS A MISDIAGNOSIS. APPARENTLY THE OIL SENSOR IS THE CULPRIT. IT MALFUNCTIONS BECAUSE OF ITS LOCATION IN THE ENGINE. I DON'T HAVE 2000.00 JUST TO PLAY A GUESSING GAME. THIS PROBLEM NEEDS A RECALL. LASTLY, DUE TO THE ENGINE ISSUES THE OIL LEAKING THE CAR HAS NOW DECIDED IF I'M DRIVING 60 MPH IT WILL ALL OF THE SUDDEN SHIFT THE ENGINE ALMOST TO A DEAD STOP AND THEN YOU FEEL AS IF YOU WILL FLY THRU THE WINDSHIELD BECAUSE NOW THE CAR WON'T GO OUT OF FOURTH GEAR MANUALLY OR AUTOMATIC. PLEASE HELP.
VEHICLE KEPT CUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING OR EITHER WOULDN'T ACCELERATE OVER 20 MPH . AFTER RESTARTING A COUPLE TIMES VEHICLE WOULD DRIVE FINE FOR A COUPLE WEEKS SOMETIMES MONTHS. TOOK IT TO DEALERSHIP LAST YEAR WAS ADVISED OF SOME RECALLS BUT NO OTHER ISSUES. BUT VEHICLE CONTINUED TO HAVE THE SAME ISSUE . IT HAPPENS RANDOMLY AND WAS VERY SCARY TRAVELING AT A FAST SPEED. NOW IT WONT STAY STARTED AT ALL. TOOK VEHICLE TO A DIFFERENT MECHANIC AND WAS ADVISED NEED A NEW ENGINE .
DOOR LOCKS ARE BROKEN AND REAR PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK
BOUGHT THE CAR USED IN 2013 AND SINCE I'VE HAD THE CAR MAKES A KNOCKING NOISE WHEN STOPPED. IT'S NOT ALL THE TIME, BUT MOST IF THE TIME. I ASKED THE MECHANIC AT THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT IT AND HE SAID IT WAS NORMAL AND GOING TO GET LOUDER WHICH IT HAS, BUT GAVE NO EXPLANATION AS TO WHAT IT WAS OR WHY IT WAS HAPPENING.
I WANT TO KNOW IF THEIR ANY RECALL
HEADLIGHT HOUSING HAS BECOME OVERHEATED AND MELTED CAUSING ME TO REPLACE ONE HEADLIGHT AT $900. WHEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN I SPLICED THE NEW HOUSING YET THE BULB KEEPS BLOWING NEEDING REPLACED. THERE IS KNOCKING IN THE ENGINE THAT GETS WORSE WHEN MY SPEED INCREASES AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT IT SOUNDS LIKE THE ENGINE IS NOT GETTING ENOUGH OIL. THE HEAD GASKET HAS BEEN REPLACED AND IT STILL SEEMS TO BE BURNING OR LOSING OIL. THE INDICATOR LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD ALL RANDOMLY COME ON AND THEN GO OFF. WHILE DRIVING THE CAR SEEMED TO LOSE POWER AT TIMES THEN WOULD DIE AT A STOP LIGHT. THIS ALL HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR THE PAST SIX MONTHS OR MORE. IN THE PAST YEAR I HAVE PAID $1900 PLUS ON RANDOM REPAIRS

CAR SHIFTER IS NOT ENGAGING AND DISENGAGING RESULTING IN NOT BEING ABLE TO PLACE CAR IN PARK. THIS ISSUES WAS A RECALL BEFORE HOWEVER; THE FIX DIDN'T RESOLVE THE PROBLEM AND KIA HAS NOT OFFERED A NEW FIX. ALSO, AIR BAG LIGHT STILL ILLUMINATING AFTER RECALL FIX. AGAIN KIA REFUSE TO FIX AND ISSUE COULD CAUSE AIR BAG NOT TO DEPLOY IN AN ACCIDENT. ALSO, BACK REAR PASSENGER DOOR WON'T OPEN FROM THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE.

THE DEALER (BILLION AUTO KIA IN SIOUX CITY, IOWA) DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE DOORS NEEDED ACTUATORS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 138,000.
POWER DOOR LOCKS DO NOT LOCK, BY DOOR BUTTON, BY REMOTE KEY FOB OR MORE IMPORTANTLY WHEN THE CAR IS TAKEN OUT OF THE PARK POSITION. DOORS DO SUCCESSFULLY UNLOCK VIA REMOTE, DOOR BUTTON AND WHEN THE CAR IS PUT INTO THE PARKED POSITION. DOORS CAN ONLY BE LOCKED MANUALLY.
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE THE OIL LIGHT INDICATOR ILLUMINATED ON DASHBOARD. VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO A GAS STATION AND ATTENDANT CHECKED OIL, INDICATED THAT IT WAS APPROXIMATELY ONE QUARTER LOW AND ADDED A QUART OF OIL. WHEN VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED THE OIL LIGHT WAS STILL ILLUMINATED AND ALSO THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN APPROXIMATELY TO MILES TO RESIDENCE WHERE IT WAS PARKED. THE NEXT MORNING VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL AUTO REPAIR SHOP. WHEN STARTED BOTH OIL AND ENGINE LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED AND VEHICLE ENGINE WAS MAKING LOUD KNOCKING AND GRINDING NOISES FOR THE APPROXIMATE MILE AND A HALF DRIVE TO REPAIR STATION. AFTER INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT ENGINE WOULD NEED REPLACED.
I WAS ON THE FREEWAY DRIVING 75MPH. I HAD BEEN DRIVING FOR APPROX 65 MILES WHEN MY VEHICLE LOST ALL ENGINE POWER WITH NO WARNING WHILE DRIVING UP A HILL. I WAS ABLE TO PULL THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I HAD TO TOW THE VEHICLE 65 MILES BACK HOME AND TO THE MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC HAS STATED THE VEHICLE DIED WHILE DRIVING DUE TO THE ENGINE LOCKING UP. THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD ALL ROUTINE MAINTENANCE COMPLETED ON TIME AND IN FACT JUST HAD AN OIL CHANGE AND INSPECTION BEFORE TAKING THIS TRIP. THERE HAVE BEEN NO LOUD NOISES OR NOISES COMING FROM THE VEHICLE AT ALL NOR WERE THERE ANY NOISES PRIOR TO THIS ISSUE OCCURRING.
I WAS DRIVING NORTH ON RT28 TRAVELING AT 65MPH I TOOK MY EXIT. AFTER STOPPING AT THE SIGN, I HIT THE GAS TO GO AND THE VEHICLE WAS SLUGGISH THEN IT SHIFTED HARD. I STOPPED ABOUT .25 MILES DOWN THE ROAD AND PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND BACK INTO DRIVE AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED. IT SHIFTED HARD AFTER A SLUGGISH START. I GOT THE VEHICLE HOME LUCKILY AND FOUND THE TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAKING EVERYWHERE. AFTER HAVING IT TOWED TO A TRANSMISSION REPAIR SHOP, THE REPAIR PERSON INFORMED ME THAT THERE WAS A HOLE IN SIDE OF THE TRANSMISSION.
AIR BAG ILLUMINATION LIGHT CAME ON & STAYED ON AT 65450 MILES. DEALERSHIP STATES AIR BAG WON'T DEPLOY AS SYSTEM IS RENDERED INOPERABLE. NEEDS SOP CLOCK SPRING & OCS MATT. TOTAL ESTIMATE FOR REPAIR IS $2000. & IT'S NOT UNDER WARRANTY. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY KIA SOONER RATHER THAN LATER.
FRONT DOOR HANDLE LATCH ASSEMBLY CONSTANTLY BREAKING AND I AM UNABLE TO OPE THE DOORS FROM THE OUTSIDE

PULLS TO 1 DIRECTION WHEN BRAKING AND DRIVING. SOUNDS OF AXEL OR SUSPENSION IN MOTION STARTED ON CITY STREETS NOW ON HIGHWAY
MY REAR DRIVERS SIDE DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE OR THE INSIDE.
I MADE A APPOINTMENT FOR KIA SERVICE COMPLAINING THAT THE FRONT AND REAR SUSPENTION R MAKING A NOISE. KIA REPLACE THE FRONT RIGHT SIDE BALL JOINTS AND SAID THE REAR AND LEFT FRONT SUSPENTION ARE WORKING FINE THE CAR STILL SOUNDS VERY LOUD WHEN GOING OVER BUMPS.
LOW BEAM ASSEMBLY WIRING ON BOTH LOW BEAMS HAS MELTED. THIS HAS BEEN REPORTED IN NUMEROUS CAR BLOGS AS A KNOWN ISSUE.
THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR (PART OF THROTTLE BODY) HAZARD! RANDOM. THE VEHICLE RADIO WILL SHUT OFF, ALL DASHBOARD LIGHTS WILL ILLUMINATE (SAME LIGHTS ILLUMINATE WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STARTED), AND THEN THE THROTTLE PEDAL LOSES THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE EVEN WHEN PRESSED ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. THERE IS NO ACCELERATION/POWER WHAT SO EVER! THE VEHICLE WILL MAINTAIN A SPEED 20 MPH. THIS HAS BEEN CONFIRMED AS THE VEHICLE IS PULLED OFF THE ROAD TO SAFETY. TO CORRECT, EMERGENCY EXIT TO SIDE OF THE ROAD, PLACE THE VEHICLE IN PARK, TURN THE VEHICLE OFF, AND THEN RESTART THE VEHICLE. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS WHILE DRIVING AT ACCELERATED SPEED (40-60 MPH) OF WHICH THE VEHICLE WAS PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC, WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY, AND WHILE ACCELERATING AFTER A STOP LIGHT. THIS IS A VERY HAZARDOUS/DANGEROUS CONDITION THAT HAS NEARLY PLACED ME INTO AN ACCIDENT THAT COULD HAVE ETHER SEVERELY INJURED OR KILLED ME BY ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THE PANORAMIC SUNROOF APPARENTLY EXPLODED WHEN THE CAR WAS PARKED. THE WAS A CIRCLE ABOUT 3' AROUND THE CAR WITH SMALL PIECES OF GLASS, GLASS OVER THE ENTIRE VEHICLE, METAL PIECES FROM HE SUNROOF WERE ON THE HOOD AND WINDSHIELD, THE HEADLINER WAS RIPPED FROM THE CEILING WITH A LARGE HOLE RIPPED OUT OF THE MIDDLE AND PIECES OF GLASS WERE PILED THROUGHOUT THE INTERIOR. THE CAR HAD BEEN PARKED ONE DAY. NO ONE WITNESSED THE EXPLOSION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 KIA SORENTO. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (JIM ELLIS KIA OF KENNESAW, 1221 AUTO PARK DRIVE NORTHWEST, KENNESAW, GA 30144) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CLOCKSPRING NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CLOCKSPRING WAS REPLACED, BUT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE AIR BAG INFLATOR WAS NOT ALSO REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO CONCERNED THAT THE VEHICLE MIGHT HAVE AN ELECTRICAL FAILURE BECAUSE THE HEADLIGHTS FAILED TO ILLUMINATE AND THE HEADLIGHT BULBS HAD BEEN REPLACED SEVERAL TIMES. THE SAME DEALER STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR WOULD REMAIN ILLUMINATED BECAUSE THERE WAS ALSO A FAILURE WITH THE AIR BAG SENSOR IN THE SEATS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG SENSOR IN THE SEATS WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO THE COST. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT SHE WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST OF THE AIR BAG SEAT SENSOR REPLACEMENT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 96,000.
THE HOOD LATCH WILL NOT OPEN THE HOOD
BOTH LOW HEADLIGHT BULBS HAVE GONE OUT MANY TIMES. DESPITE BEING REPLACED, THEY CONTINUE NOT TO WORK. THE WIRING SEEMS TO HAVE A SHORT IN IT BECAUSE WHEN IT IS WIGGLED THE LIGHT COMES ON BUT GOES RIGHT BACK OUT. THE SOCKET IS VERY HOT TO TOUCH AND SMELLS HOT. I'M AFRAID THE WIRING WILL CAUSE A FIRE. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO BOTH FRONT LOW BEAM LIGHTS. MOST RECENTLY TODAY TO THE PASSENGER SIDE LIGHT. I CURRENTLY HAVE TWO NON WORKABLE LOW LIGHTS

CAR HAS BEEN BURNING OIL FOR AWHILE, SO WE ARE CONSTANTLY TOPPING IT OFF. WE ARE DILIGENT ABOUT ROUTINE OIL CHANGES. THERE HAS ALSO BEEN A CLICKING ON HARD ACCELERATION THAT HAS NO KNOWN CAUSE, EVEN AFTER BEING INVESTIGATED ON 2 OCCASIONS. YESTERDAY, WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY, THE CAR LOST POWER. GOT TO AN EXIT AND HAD CAR TOWED TO SHOP. GOT THE CALL TODAY THAT THERE IS A HOLE IN ONE OF THE PISTONS AND ENTIRE ENGINE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. CONTACTED KIA AND THIS YEAR IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE MULTIPLE ENGINE RECALL LIST. CAR HAS APPROXIMATELY 126,000 MILES WITH A REPAIR ESTIMATE OF $7000.
THE PAST TWO WEEKS OR SO, THE LEFT SIDE STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS HAVE NOT BEEN WORKING PROPERLY. THE VOLUME UP BUTTON IS TURNING THE VOLUME DOWN. I HAVE RESEARCHED AND FOUND OUT THAT MANY OTHER PEOPLE WITH ALL TYPES OF KIA VEHICLES ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM. FOR MOST, IT HAS TURNED OUT TO BE A DEFECTIVE OR FAULTY CLOCK-SPRING IN THE STEERING WHEEL. I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY ACTED STUNNED. IT CAN'T BE A SECRET BECAUSE SO MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS ARE OUT THERE ONLINE. IT SAYS I HAVE ZERO ACTIVE RECALLS AT THIS MOMENT, WHEN I JUST RECEIVED A RECALL IN THE MAIL THIS WEEK FOR THE DOOR LATCHES IN MY 2011 KIA SORENTO. THAT MAKES ME BELIEVE THERE IS A COMMUNICATION PROBLEM SOMEWHERE. THE LAST TIME I TOOK IT IN FOR A RECALL, THE CENTER CONSOLE PANEL DIDN'T GET PUT BACK TOGETHER PROPERLY AND IT DOESN'T FIT DOWN OVER MY CUPHOLDERS PROPERLY. IT LEFT A GAP UNDER THE RADIO PANEL BECAUSE OF IT. I WILL BRING THIS TO THE DEALERSHIPS ATTENTION AGAIN WHEN I TAKE IT IN FOR MY MOST RECENT RECALL LETTER. HOWEVER, THIS STEERING CONTROL PROBLEM IS HAPPENING FAR MORE THAN IT SHOULD, SO THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL FOR THE OWNERS. IF THE CLOCK-SPRING IS DEFECTIVE AND SOMEONE IS IN AN ACCIDENT WHILE TURNING THEIR STEERING WHEEL, THEN THE AIR BAG IS NOT GOING TO DEPLOY, WHICH COULD RESULT IN A LOSS OF LIFE. THAT IS A SAFETY CONCERN, AND IT SHOULD BE A TOP PRIORITY FOR KIA MOTORS TO ISSUE THE RECALL!!! IT HAPPENS TO ME WHEN I AM IN MOTION AND ALSO WHILE I AM PARKED.
3 DOORS THE FRONT PASSENGER AND THE TWO BACK PASSENGER DOORS WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE.THE DOOR LATCHES ARE BROKE. THEY REPLACED THE INSIDE LATCHES BECAUSE OF THE CHROME COMING OFF WELL IT IS CUTTING HANDS AGAIN LESS THAN A YEAR LATER THE CHROME IS COMING OFF AGAIN. THIS SEEMS T BE A GROWING PROBLEM WITH SORENTOS. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT WILL CAUSE YOUR CAR TO FAIL INSPECTION. KIA HAS WEKLL OVER 100 COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS AND MANY DONT COMPLAIN THEY JUST FIX THEM AT 400 A DOOR IS WHAT KIA DEALERS WANTS TO FIX THEM. KIA NEEDS TO RECALL THESE 2011 SORENTOS AGAIN THIS WILL BE THE 7TH TIME CAN I GET A CAR THAT ACTUALLY DRIVES MORE THAN IN THE SHOP....CAR HAS 110000 MILES ON IT THEY ALL BROKE AFTER THE KIA 60,000 WARRANTY ON DOOR LATCHES
LOW BEAM HEADLAMPS ARE FAILING DUE TO WIRING HARNESS MELTING CAUSING A SHORT. THIS A SAFETY ISSUE FOR VISIBILITY AT NIGHT AND COULD START A FIRE IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THIS PROBLEM WAS IDENTIFIED WHEN DRIVING ON THE I-17 IN NORTH PHOENIX AND VERIFIED ONCE WE GOT HOME. THE HARNESS WAS REPLACED BY A CERTIFIED MECHANIC TWICE AND BOTH TIMES THE HARNESS MELTED. OE HEADLAMPS ARE BEING USED.CURRENTLY, WE HAVE NO DRIVER SIDE HEADLAMP DUE TO A CONCERN FOR FIRE.
AS MY HUSBAND AND I WERE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY MY CAR STARTED TO MAKE A KNOCKING SOUND, WITH NO WARNING, NO ENGINE LIGHT, NO OIL LIGHT, ABSOLUTELY NO INDICATORS SOMETHING WAS WRONG AND THEN STALLED.

WHILE DRIVING MY 2011 KIA SORENTO FOR ABOUT A HALF MILE FROM MY HOME, DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH I APPROACHED A BUSY INTERSECTION DURING MORNING TRAFFIC AND WITH NO SIGN ANYTHING WAS WRONG MY CAR STALLED OUT. I LOST ALL POWER STEERING BUT WAS ABLE TO TURN WHEEL AND TURN RIGHT ONTO SIDE STREET TO GET OUT OF THE INTERSECTION. CAR ROLLED OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I ATTEMPTED TO RESTART AND CAR SEEMED TO HAVE RESTARTED JUST FINE. I TURNED AROUND AND DECIDED TO HEAD BACK HOME INSTEAD OF DRIVE THE HIGHWAY TO WORK. LITERALLY A MINUTE AFTER I TURNED MY CAR AROUND AND ENTERED THE INTERSECTION MY SORENTO STALLED OUT AGAIN. I ONCE AGAIN TURNED MY STEERING WHEEL TO THE RIGHT TO GET OUT OF THE WAY OF TRAFFIC THIS TIME IN THE BUSY INTERSECTION. THIS TIME OIL LIGHT, AND ENGINE LIGHT TURNED ON ON THE DASHBOARD. WAITED ALMOST 2 HOURS TO GET MY CAR TOWED 1 1/2 MILES DOWN THE ROAD TO FIND OUT THAT MY ENGINE SEIZED UP. THE MECHANIC WHO GAVE ME THE BAD NEWS STATED THE OIL WAS DOWN ABOUT HALF A QUART NOT ENOUGH TO SEIZE THE ENGINE. STATED HIS OPINION WITHOUT FURTHER TEARDOWN WAS THAT SOMETHING LET LOOSE INSIDE OF ENGINE CAUSING IT TO JAM UP.
WAS INVOLVED IN A CAR FIRE THAT WAS A TOTAL LOSS OF THE CAR. IT WAS MY DAUGHTER, MYSELF AND 4 DOGS HEADING TO SEE MY DAD IN WIGGINS,COLORADO. IF NEED MY DAUGHTER HAS PHOTOS OF THE CAR FIRE AS WELL AS VIDEOS.
DRIVERS SIDE REAR DOOR WON'T OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE WHEN THERE ARE CHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE
TAKATA RECALL THE DRIVER'S SIDE BACK DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE. THIS SAME PROBLEM OCCURRED WITH THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT DOOR AND THIS WAS REPAIRED BY KIA AS THERE WAS A RECALL.
