TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 KIA SORENTO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT NOTICED AN INCREASED STOPPING DISTANCE WHEN BRAKING SINCE THE ILLUMINATION OF THE WARNING LIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO HAVE THE FAILURE DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 3,768.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 KIA SORENTO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD PULL TO THE RIGHT ABNORMALLY WHEN DRIVING AT ANY SPEED OVER 10 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER NUMEROUS TIMES FOR THE FAILURE WHERE THE INTERMEDIATE SHAFT WAS REPLACED TWICE YET FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED WHO ADVISED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING MORE THEY COULD DO IN ATTEMPTING TO CORRECT THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 12,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 KIA SORENTO. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT WITH THE AIR CONDITIONER OPERATING, A BURNING AND EXHAUST ODOR ENTERED THE CABIN THROUGH THE VENTS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BAIERL KIA (11410 PERRY HWY, WEXFORD, PA 15090, (724) 741-1197) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT CARBON WAS BUILDING UP IN THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
RECEIVED OUR "REPAIRED" 2011 KIA SORENTO BACK, AFTER 6 WEEKS OF BEING WITHOUT IT FROM PREVIOUS TRANSMISSION FAILURE, ON 29 DEC 2010. THE VEHICLE SMELLED AS THOUGH IT WERE HOT ON DRIVE HOME FROM DEALERSHIP. THE NEXT MORNING 30 DEC 2010, WITH THE VEHICLE RUNNING AND WHILE AT AN INTERSECTION, I PUT THE VEHICLE IN DRIVE BUT NOTHING HAPPENED EXCEPT A GRINDING NOISE. I MOVED THE SHIFT UP AND DOWN FOR SEVERAL SECONDS AND EVEN TRIED TURNING THE VEHICLE ON AND OFF TO NO AVAIL. FINALLY AFTER SEVERAL SECONDS, I MOVED THE SHIFTER INTO DRIVE AND THE GRINDING DID NOT OCCUR AND THE VEHICLE TOOK OFF. THE INCIDENT OCCURRED, AS DID THE INITIAL FAILURE 6 WEEKS AGO, AT AN INTERSECTION WHEREBY I COULD HAVE BEEN INJURED. THE VEHICLE NOW, AT RANDOM, REPEATS THE SAME SCENARIO. *TR
THE DASHBOARD GAGES ARE LIGHED ALL THE TIME IN MY VEHICLE. THIS CREATES A SAFETY PROBLEM AS DUSK APPROACHES. BECAUSE THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS ARE CLEARLY VISIBLE AT ALL TIMES THERE IS NO CLEAR VISUAL CUE TO TURN ON THE HEAD LIGHTS. IN MY OPINION THE SIMPLE FIX IS TO DESIGN THE DASHBOARD GAGES SO THEY ARE VISIBLE DURING THE DAY WITH OUT, OR WITH MINIMAL, LIGHTING SO THAT AS DAYLIGHT WANES THE DASH BECOMES MORE DIFFICULT TO SEE THEREBY PROVIDING THE DRIVER WITH A VISUAL QUE TO TURN ON THE VEHICLE'S LIGHTS. I HAVE NOTICED OTHER VEHICLE MAKES BEING OPERATED WITH THE HEADLIGHTS OFF BUT THE DASHBOARD WELL ILLUMINATED (WHILE BEING PASSED ON THE HIGHWAY) IN LOW LIGHT CONDITIONS.
SINCE DAY 1 FROM WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR, IT PULLS TO THE RIGHT. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER, THEY DID A TIRE ROTATION THAT HASN'T FIXED THE ISSUE. I HAVE TO KEEP CONSTANT PRESSURE ON THE STEERING WHEEL TO AVOID IT FROM PULLING RIGHT AND ENDING UP IN A DITCH. *TR
CAR WOULDN'T START WHEN I PUSHED IT TO START, THE NEXT DAY IT STARTED. ON 1/4/2012 DRIVING THE CAR AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH AND THE CAR SHUT OFF. THE CAR DID RESTART BUT SHUT OFF AGAIN WHILE DRIVING. RESTARTED AND HAD IT TOWED TO KIA. THEY HAD THE CAR UNTIL 1/9/12. I WAS TOLD THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE FUSE BLOCK. THEY REPLACED EMS BLOCK CONTROL HARNESS. ON JANUARY 30,2012, THE CAR WOULDN'T START AGAIN. HAD IT TOWED TO KIA. THEY KEPT THE CAR AND ON 2/1/12 AND 2/2/12 THE CAR DIDN'T START FOR THEM. I WAS TOLD THEY MOVED AROUND THE COMPUTER AND THEN THE CAR STARTED. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT THERE WAS NO FUEL PRESSURE THAT TIME. THEY REPLACED PCM. I TOOK IT TO THE KIA GARAGE ON 4/26/13 FOR A ROUTINE OIL CHANGE. THAT DAY GOT THE CAR BACK AND HAD OIL LEAKING ALL OVER MY DRIVEWAY. I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS EVER SINCE. TOOK THE CAR BACK 2 TIMES FOR OIL LEAK. DURING THE TIME IT WAS IN THE GARAGE I WAS TOLD THE OXYGEN SENSOR NEEDED REPLACED, AFTER BEING REPLACED I WAS TOLD THERE WAS TO MUCH VOLTAGE GOING TO THE SENSOR AND THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHY. CURRENTLY I AM TOLD THE CARS COMPUTER NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. WE STILL HAVEN'T GOTTEN THE CAR BACK. *TR
THE 2011 KIA SPORTAGE COMES NEW THIS YEAR WITH ELECTRIC POWER STEERING. THE CAR IS STEERED BY AN ELECTRIC MOTOR ACTIVATED BY REOSTATES WHEN THE WHEEL IS TURNED. THE STEERING IS VERY JERKY, DARTING FROM LEFT TO RIGHT ON LEVEL ROADS. IN HIGH CROSS WINDS AND RAIN COVERED ROADWAYS THE CAR BECOMES HIGHLY UNSTABLE. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALER THAT SOLD ME THE CAR AND WAS INFORMED THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH THE CAR BUT THEY HAVE NO SOLUTION FOR IT. I HAVE SPOKEN WITH OTHER OWNERS OF THIS CAR AND THEY EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEMS. THIS IS THE MOST UNSTABLE CAR I HAVE EVER DRIVEN AND FEEL IT IS A DANGER TO THE PUBLIC. MARK MY WORD, LIVES WILL BE LOST AS A RESULT OF THE POOR ENGINEERING EXHIBITED IN THIS CAR. TWO MAJOR CAR MAGAZINES THAT REVIEWED THIS CAR NOTED THE STEERING WAS TERRIBLE. I ASKED THE DEALER TO GIVE ME A NUMBER TO SPEAK TO KIA AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING ANYONE COULD DO. *TR
I RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2011 KIA SORENTO 4 CYL. AND JUST AFTER ONE DAY OF OWNERSHIP NOTICED THAT THE CAR WAS PULLING TO THE RIGHT. I IMMEDIATELY TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP WITH ONLY 150 MILES ON IT. THEY SAID IT WAS THE ALIGNMENT AND DID A TEST ON IT AND AFTER THE TEST THE CAR PULLED TO THE LEFT. THE STEERING WHEEL IS ALSO OFF CENTER, LIKE MANY OTHERS HAVE REPORTED. I HAVE TAKEN IT BACK ONCE MORE AND THIS TIME THEY PERFORMED A TIRE ROTATION, THIS DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. AFTER THREE WEEKS OF OWNERSHIP THE BRAKES HAVE STARTED TO MAKE SUBSTANTIAL NOISE AND THE SUSPENSION FEELS AND SOUNDS LIKE IT IS COMING APART. THE DEALER IS WAITING FOR KIA TECHNICIAN REPRESENTATIVE TO COME BY AND TAKE A LOOK AND REPORT ON THIS VEHICLE. *TR

WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR CONDITIONER SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO MAKE A GRINDING NOISE, AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT ALSO NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD OF THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED WHO AND ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT DID NOT INFORM THE MANUFACTURER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 2000.
FRONT STRUT FAILURE AT 3K MILES. CAR RANDOMLY HAS A LOUD METALLIC CLUNK SOUND WHEN STARTING, SOMETIMES THE CAR WILL SURGE/JUMP FORWARD WHEN STARTING (WHILE THE CAR IS IN PARK, PARKING BRAKE ON AND FOOT ON BRAKE). THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER GETS STUCK IN PARK AND DOES NOT RELEASE, WITH GREAT EFFORT RELEASING FROM PARK(CAR MADE LOUD METALLIC CLANK SOUND AND SURGED/JUMPED IN REVERSE). I'M AFRAID TO PARK TOO CLOSE TO ANOTHER CAR BECAUSE STARTING CAR CAN CAUSE COLLISION. WHEN THE TRANSMISSION IS STUCK THE BRAKES DEPRESS TO FLOOR OF CAR. SINCE DAY ONE THE CAR HAS PULLED TO THE RIGHT, AFTER STRUT REPLACEMENT THE PROBLEM IS WORSE (THE FASTER THE SPEED THE HARDER IT IS TO STEER STRAIGHT).

THE FAILURE OCCURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. IN ADDITION, THE PUSH START IGNITION FAILED TO OPERATE ON FOUR SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER THREE TIMES FOR BOTH DEFECTS. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO LOCATE THE PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 900. UPDATED 04/02/13*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL WHEN APPROACHING A STOP SING, TURNING TO SLOW DOWN, OR DRIVING SLOWLY THROUGH A PARKING LOT.
2011 KIA SORENTO DRIVER SIDE WINDOW STOPPED WORKING INSTANTLY WITHOUT WARNING. WINDOW IS ROLLED DOWN, NO INDICATIONS OF IT GOING BAD. BOUGHT IN MARCH 2010, WENT OUT NOV 26, 2010 IN PARKING LOT. NO ADVERSE WEATHER, NO ADVERSE DRIVING. BARELY ROLL WINDOWS DOWN WHILE HAD IT. BOUGHT BRAND NEW. NO ACCIDENTS OR DAMAGES TO VEHICLE AREA. *TR
TRANSMISSION AND DRIVESHAFT BROKE 21 NOV 2010 BARELY MAKING IT ACROSS BUSY INTERSECTION. VEHICLE IS 2011 KIA SORENTO. PURCHASED IN FEBRUARY 2010 (IN TEXAS), KIA SORENTO BROKE DOWN OUT OF STATE (FT. BRAGG, NC) THANKSGIVING WEEK 2010. KIA HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO NEAREST DEALER - A+. KIA PROVIDED RENTAL IMMEDIATELY - A+. KIA DEALERSHIP REPORTED TRANSMISSION AND DRIVESHAFT WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. (VEHICLE STARTED BUT WOULD NOT MOVE AND MADE GRINDING NOISE). KIA NOW STATES "WE DO NOT HAVE A FOLLOWBACK POLICY" MEANING I'M SUPPOSED TO PAY FOR VEHICLE TO BE RETURNED FROM NEAR FT. BRAGG NC TO WHERE I RESIDE IN TEXAS - F. ANY ONE KNOW THE LAW? I HAVE OWNED 7 KIA'S INCLUDING THIS ONE, YOU WOULD THINK KIA WOULD REWARD SUCH LOYALTY? *TR
KIA SORENTO 2011, 2WD 2.4 L ENGINE. THE BRAKES ON TWO OCCASIONS BEGAN TO RUMBLE AND PUSH BACK ON THE FOOT MAKING IT VERY DIFFICULT TO APPLY THE BRAKES. NO CRASH OCCURRED BUT WE WERE TRAVELING AT AROUND 15MPH DURING THE FIRST INCIDENT AND 20MPH IN THE SECOND INCIDENT.

MY 2011 KIA SORENTO'S REAR SUNROOF SHATTERED. I WENT TO OPEN THE MAIN SUNROOF IT SHUTTERED THEN I HEARD A POP. THE ENTIRE REAR SECTION SHATTERED I WAS LESS THAN A MILE FROM A LOCAL KIA DEALERSHIP (PINEHURST KIA) I LEFT THE CAR WITH THE SERVICE DEPT I WAS CONTACTED LATER THAT FROM THE DEALERSHIP I WAS TOLD THAT GLASS WAS NOT COVERED AND THAT THEY FELT THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THERE PRODUCT. I CONTACTED KIA DIRECTLY AND WAS TOLD GLASS WAS COVERED THEN I WAS CALLED BACK FROM KIA STATING THAT THE REPAIR WOULD NOT BE WARRANTY $1280.00 WAS THE COST FOR REPAIRS> I WAS ADVISED BY THE SERVICE DIRECTOR THAT THE PROPER REPAIR WOULD INCLUDE GLASS REPLACEMENT AND I SHOULD REPLACE THE FRAME HOUSING. I FOUND OTHER CASES OF THIS SAME PROBLEM WITH THE REAR SUNROOF GLASS SHATTERING AT LEAST NOBODY'S BEEN HURT YET. IS KIA WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO BE INJURED BEFORE ADDRESSING THIS PROBLEM? *TR
OUR 2011 KIA SORENTO HAS EXPERIENCED TWO SUSPENSION FAILURES IN THE LAST 6 OR 7 WEEKS. KIA HAS FOUND IT NECESSARY TO REPLACE THE RIGHT REAR AND LEFT REAR SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLIES. *TR
DELAY IN ACCELERATION AFTER APPLYING BRAKES. THIS HAPPENS FROM A DEAD START AND ALSO WHILE MOVING. ESPECIALLY BAD WHEN TRYING TO BACK UP A GRADE. (EX.) WHILE BACKING UP A GRADE SUCH AS A DRIVEWAY TO THE GARAGE I BACK UP AND THEN HIT MY BRAKE TO STOP. I THEN REALIZE I NEED TO BACK UP A LITTLE FARTHER. I TAKE MY FOOT OFF OF THE BRAKE AND PUSH THE ACCELERATOR. INSTEAD OF GOING BACKWARDS I DRIFT FORWARD. IN MY MIND I AM THINKING I DON'T HAVE THE ACCELERATOR PUSHED DOWN SO I PUSH HARDER AND ABOUT THAT TIME THE ACCELERATOR KICKS IN AND I GO FLYING BACKWARDS TOWARD THE GARAGE DOOR. (EX.2) I AM TRYING TO BACK A BOAT INTO THE RIVER. I BACK UP AND HOLD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE. I NEED TO PULL BACK OUT OF THE WATER SOME SO I QUICKLY RELEASE MY FOOT FROM THE BRAKE AND PUSH THE ACCELERATOR. NOW INSTEAD OF GOING FORWARD THERE IS A DELAY IN ACCELERATION AND I DRIFT FURTHER INTO THE RIVER. (SOMEONE IS GOING TO HAVE A VERY BAD ACCIDENT) MULTIPLY THIS OCCURRENCE AT EVERY STOP SIGN. ESPECIALLY WHERE THERE IS A GRADE INVOLVED. IN MY OPINION I BELIEVE THIS IS A DESIGN IN THE COMPUTER FOR WHAT EVER REASON AND IT IS A VERY DANGEROUS ONE. *TR
I HAVE A 2011 KIA SORENTO. AFTER ABOUT 6 MONTHS OF OWNING THE VEHICLE MY DRIVER SIDE WINDOW RANDOMLY WOULD STICK WITH THE WINDOW DOWN OR NOT GO DOWN AT ALL. I TOOK IT TO THE KIA STORE EAST IN LOUISVILLE KY AND EACH TIME THEY WOULD SAY "WE COULDN'T FIND ANY PROBLEMS". AFTER THE THIRD TIME (JULY 2011) THEY DECIDE TO REPLACE THE SWITCH. WORKED ABOUT 6 MONTHS. THE PROBLEM HAS STARTED AGAIN. MY HUSBAND TOOK IT IN AND THEY LOOKED AT IT AND NOW SAYS THE MOTOR IS GETTING HOT AND IS PROBABLY DUE TO MY TINT. THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW HAS THE SAME TINT ON IT. WHICH WAS MATCHED TO THE MANUFACTURER TINT ON THE BACK WINDOWS. THEY SAY THEY HAVE TO CALL THE NATIONAL TECH SUPPORT TO SEE IF THERE HAS BEEN ANY PROBLEMS IN THE PAST. I HAVE FOUND SEVERAL. I FEEL A LITTLE DISCRIMINATED AGAINST BECAUSE THEY WOULD NOT LOOK DEEPER INTO THE PROBLEM WHEN I CAME IN BUT DID WHEN MY HUSBAND TOOK IT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 KIA SORENTO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE BUT REPLACED THE ALTERNATOR AS A TEMPORARY REMEDY. THE REMEDY FAILED TO REPAIR THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THEY WOULD FOLLOW UP WITH THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 47,000.
THE BRAKE PEDAL ALWAYS SEEMED TO GO DOWN A LONG DISTANCE WHEN APPYLING, BEFORE THE BRAKES STARTED TO WORK.. I HAD THE DEALER CHECK. THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS REPLACED. THE NEXT MORNING, AT HOME, THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR!. WITHIN THE NEXT 3 WEEKS, THE DEALER HAD 2 MORE MASTER CYLINDERS AND THE ABS REPLACED. CORPORATE TECH WAS SENT TO CHECK BRAKE SYSTEM. EVERYTHING WAS TO SPEC AND OK. THE BRAKES WORK OK, BUT THAT "SOFT" BRAKE PEDAL FEEL STILL EXISTS.
MY 2011 KIA SORENTO EX V6 AWD WAS BROUGHT IN TO A KIA DEALER 15 DAYS AGO TO CHECK ON THE BRAKES, WHICH SEEMED TO HAVE A LONGER THAN NORMAL "PLAY" BEFORE ENGAGING. THE MECHANIC AT THE DEALERSHIP AGREED AND REPLACED THE MASTER CYLINDER. AFTER I BROUGHT IT HOME, THE NEXT MORNING THE PEDAL ALMOST WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR! IT SEEMED TO HAVE AIR IN THE SYSTEM AFTER I PUMPED THE PEDAL. I BROUGHT IT BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY AGAIN REPLACED THE MASTER CYLINDER. (I PERSONALLY THINK THEY PUT IN A REBUILD KIT THE FIRST TIME). THE MECHANIC TRIED MECHANICAL AND MANUAL METHODS TO GET ALL THE AIR OUT WITH NO SUCCESS. THEY AGAIN REPLACED THE MASTER CYLINDER, AGAIN WITH NO SUCCESS. THEY THEN REPLACED THE ABS MODULE, AGAIN IT DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. THEY ARE SENDING OUT A KIA ENGINEER TO SEE IF PROBLEM CAN BE RESOLVED. HE WILL ARRIVE MONDAY NOV 8! THE SUV IS STILL AT THE DEALERSHIP, WHICH WILL BE A TOTAL OF 21 DAYS! HAVE THERE BEEN ANY OTHER INCIDENTS OF THIS PROBLEM? *TR
PURCHASE USED 2011 KIA SORENTO WITH LESS THAN 12,000 MILES FROM DEALERSHIP. CAR WAS MAKING LOUD NOISES 2 DAYS AFTER PURCHASE IN THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. TOOK IT IN IT WAS THE POWER STEERING PUMP WHICH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. AFTER IT'S REPLACEMENT LESS THAN A WEEK LATER THE PROBLEM STARTED UP AGAIN. DEALERSHIP SAID IT WASN'T BLEED PROPERLY AND HAD AIR IN THE SYSTEM. AFTER THEY BLEED THE PUMP THE NOISE STARTS UP NEXT DAY. NOW THEY HAVE TWO REPLACE THE PUMP AGAIN. UPDATE TO COMPLAINT OF 6-2-2010: SINCE MY ORIGINAL FILING, I HAVE HAD A TOTAL OF 5 ALIGNMENTS, 1 STEERING WHEEL STRAIGHTENING, 1 TIGHTENING OF ALIGNMENT SPECS, A FRONT TIRE SWITCH; ALSO 4 NEW TIRES WITH SPIN BALANCE WERE PUT ON THE SUV BY KIA. I HAVE GIVEN UP ON KIA BEING ABLE TO CORRECT THE SUV DRIFTING TO THE RIGHT. THE NEW TIRES DID HELP SOMEWHAT, BUT MOSTLY THEY GAVE IT A BETTER RIDE. TOOK SORENTO IN ON TRANSMISSION RECALL FIX MAY 2011; SEVERAL DAYS LATER THE SUV WOULDN'T SHIFT INTO GEAR AND HAD TO BE TOWED BACK TO DEALER. BRAND NEW TRANSMISSION WAS INSTALLED, AND SUV RUNS BETTER THAN EVER. THE INITIAL PURCHASE OF THIS VEHICLE WAS REALLY A CHALLENGE, BUT THE SORENTO HAS TURNED OUT TO BE A GREAT VEHICLE AND I AM VERY SATISFIED WITH THE DRIVING AND HANDLING. I HAVE HAULED AT LEAST 1,000 POUNDS IN THE BACK AT ONE TIME WITH NO TROUBLE; THIS SUV IS A WORKHORSE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 KIA SORENTO. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60-70 MPH WHEN THE STEERING BEGAN TO VEER FROM LEFT TO RIGHT ABNORMALLY. THE CONTACT HAD TO HOLD THE WHEEL WITH BOTH HANDS IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 1,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

THE CONTACT STATED WHEN DRIVING IN VERY SUNNY WEATHER CONDITIONS, THE SUN WOULD REFLECT OFF OF THE CHROME AROUND THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND BLIND THE DRIVERS VIEW OF THE ROADWAY. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT A REPAIR DID NOT EXIST FOR THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. 2011 KIA SORENTO [XXX], HAVING ISSUES WITH VEHICLE PULLING OFF TO THE RIGHT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS ON VARIOUS ROADS/HIGHWAYS. SAID VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT BACK TO DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT TO LOOK AT ALIGNMENT. SERVICE DEPARTMENT'S WORK RESULTED IN VEHICLE ALIGNMENT WORSE THAN BEFORE. RETURNED VEHICLE BACK TO DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT, HAD SEVERAL (DEALERSHIP SERVICE ADVISOR, DEALERSHIP SERVICE MANAGER, KIA DISTRICT SERVICE MANAGER) ALL LOOK AT AND DROVE VEHICLE AND NOTICED ISSUE. DEALERSHIP SERVICE MANAGER STATED THAT HE DROVE SEVERAL OTHER 2011 SORENTO'S AND NOTICED A COUPLE OF 4 CYLINDER VERSIONS WITH SAME ISSUE, AND ONE WITHOUT THE ISSUE. DEALERSHIP SERVICE MANAGER CONTACTED SISTER DEALERSHIP AND WAS INFORMED THAT THEY ALSO HAD A SIMILIAR ISSUE WITH ONE OF THEIR 2011 SORENTO'S. DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND DISTRICT MANAGER STATES VEHICLE HAS BEEN PUT BACK TO FACTORY SPECS, HOWEVER, UPON CUSTOMER DRIVING VEHICLE AGAIN ALONG WITH THE DEALESHIP SERVICE MANAGER, THE SAID VEHICLE STILL PULLS TO THE RIGHT SIGNIFICANTLY. CASE NUMBER ([XXX]) HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED BY KIA CONSUMER HEADQUARTERS. FIELD TECH REP HAS BEEN CONTACTED TO LOOK INTO VEHICLE ISSUE.
