DROVE TRUCK TO BANK AND NOW THEY ARE TELLING ME THAT MY BCM BODY CONTROL MODULE IS BAD. I HAD A TOW TRUCK DRIVER TELL ME THAT I WAS THE 10TH VEHICLE HE HAS PICKED UP WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. MY VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY IN A PARKING LOT.
THIS WAS NOTED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY BUT LIKELY ALSO OCCURS DURING AT ALL TIMES. FRONT DOOR LATCHES WERE REPAIRED(NOT REPLACED) BY KIA CORAL SPRINGS ON 01/06/2017 (INVOICE K1CS733790) PER CS1603A. CURRENTLY, THE PASSENGER FRONT NOW NEVER OPENS FROM THE OUTSIDE AND THE DRIVER SIDE OCCASIONALLY. DEALER SAID (CASE# 1331-7164) , IT WAS A ONE TIME FIX EVEN THOUGH THEY REPAIRED NOT REPLACED. I REACHED OUT TO KIA AND THEY AGREED. THEY SAID I COULD FIX THEM AND PETITION FOR REIMBURSEMENT. GETTING TO THE LATCHES REQUIRES COMPLETELY DISMANTLING THE DOOR AND WOULD COST ABOUT $500 PER DOOR AND I FEAR THIS WILL HAPPEN EVERY 2-3 YEARS (ON AN 2011/9 YEAR OLD CAR!) .
FFELT LIKE TIRES SKIDDED THEN SLOWED DOWN TO 30 MILES AN HOUR AN 4WHEEL DRIVE ANI LOCK BRAKE SYMBOWL CAME ON WAS RUNNING ABOUT 50 HAD TO PULL OVER AN CUT OFF ENGINE THEN RESTART
THE ALTERNATOR IN THIS VEHICLE HAD DIED NOW 3 TIMES IN THE PAST 4 YEARS, CAUSING THE CAR TO SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. THE ALTERNATOR GOES FROM WORKING TO COMPLETELY DEAD. THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED THE CAR HAD AROUND 65,000 MILES. THE SECOND TIME IT HAD AROUND 128,000 AND THIS LAST TIME AROUND 131,000 THERE WAS A RECALL LISTED FOR THE ORIGINAL ALTERNATOR BUT KIA CLAIMED IT DID NOT APPLY TO OUR CAR EVEN THOUGH THE MANUFACTURED DATE FIT WITHIN THE LISTED MONTHS.
THE VEHICLE JERKS AROUND 40 MILES PER HOUR. NO CODES
EVERYTIME I HIT A LITTLE BUMP IN THE ROAD MY ECO SAVER GOES OFF CAUSING ME TO BURN MORE GAS UNTIL I HIT ANOTHER BUMP TO KNOCK THE SAVER BACK ON
2011 KIA SORENTO SX VEHICLE WAS PUT INTO REVERSE, STARTED TO BACK UP, THE TRANSMISSION GEAR SLIPS OUT OF REVERSE, INTO NEUTRAL OR NOT IN AN ENGAGED GEAR POSITION AND ENGINE REV'S UP. OBSERVED THAT THE GEAR SHIFT DID NOT APPEAR TO MOVE OR DISPLACE ITSELF. PLACED THE GEAR SHIFT BACK INTO PARK. WAITED A 10 SECONDS OR SO AND PUT INTO REVERSE AGAIN. TRANSMISSION PAUSES FOR A FEW SECONDS THEN SHIFTS HARD WITH A VERY LOUD THUD /CLANK /BANG SOUND. THIS IS THE REPLACEMENT TRANSMISSION OF THE ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT TRANSMISSION AND NOW THE ISSUE OF SLIPPING OUT OF GEAR IN REVERSE IS EXACTLY UNEQUIVOCALLY THE SAME.
I BROUGHT MY VEHICLE INTO KIA FOR SEVERAL RECALLS. ONE WAS THE DOOR LOCKS BEING FAULTY. I SAID I HAD NO PROBLEMS BUT THEY DECIDED TO REPLACE THEM ANYWAY. NOW MY REAR DOOR LOCK IS BROKEN. THE OTHER ISSUE IS WHEN ACCELERATING THE ENGINE REVS. IT ONLY HAPPENED A COUPLE OF TIMES AT FIRST, BUT NOW IT HAPPENS EVERY TIME I DRIVE. IT SEEMS LIKE THE PEDAL IS GETTING STUCK. MY LAST ISSUE IS THE AIR BAG. I WAS REAR ENDED ON THE HIGHWAY AND PUSHED INTO THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. THE WHOLE FRONT END WAS BANGED UP AND THE AIRBAG NEVER OPENED.
MY AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AND NEVER WENT OUT. IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT WHILE THIS LIGHT IS LIT, MY AIRBAGS WILL NOT DEPLOY. I SEE THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH KIA VEHICLES. PLEASE ISSUE A RECALL!!
MY ROOM LP FUSE KEEPS BLOWING. IT HAD A RECALL FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. I WENT OUT AND STARTED MY CAR AND SEEN THAT THE CLOCK AND INTERIOR LIGHTS WERE NOT WORKING. I PULLED FUSE PUT A NEW ONE IN AND WHEN I STARTED IT AGAIN IT BLEW AGAIN. THEN THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AND IT IS STAYING ON. I HAVE REPLACED THE ROOM LP FUSE ABOUT 12 TIMES. IT WAS A RECALL GOT FIXED AND HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AGAIN.
TAKATA BRAKE LIGHTS NOT WORKING BOUGHT 3 SINCE JAN2019. GOT BRAKES DONE IN 2018 BUT PEDAL STILL MOVES AT RED LIGHT CAR MOVES FORWARD. I MASH BREAKS HARDER. ENGINE SHAKES OR JUMPS. IGNITION SWITCH WON'T TURN ON CAR IT DON'T CRANK UP KEY WAS REMADE A YR AGO. IGNITION STARTED BACK WORKING WELL BUT 6MONTHS AGO SAME PROBLEM AGAIN. TODAY I WAS STUCK 3.5HRS.HORRIBLE PLEASE HELP MY SORENTO IS LOVED BY ME. NO ONE CONTACTED ME ON THESE ISSUES IM HAVING.
WHEN I TURN THE CAR ON, THE AIRBAG INDICATOR STAYS ON. IT DOES NOT TURN OFF, WHEN I'M STATIONARY OR MOVING, UNTIL I TURN THE CAR OFF.
TAKATA RECALL AIRBAG CAME ON FOR NO REASON AND WILL NOT GO OUT .
DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE ON THE DRIVER REAR SIDE. ALSO I AM STARTING TO HAVE ISSUES WITH MY GEAR SHIFT. I CAN'T PUT MY VEHICLE OUT OF PARK. IF I DO GET IT OUT OF PARK, 2 OF MY DASHBOARDS LIGHTS COME ONE. I ALSO NOTICE WHEN THESE LIGHTS ARE ON MY BRAKE LIGHTS DO NOT SHOW ON THE REAR SIDE. THIS IS AM HAZARD AND MY TRUCK SLIPS FROM TIME TO TIME.
INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON THEN WENT OFF. HAS SINCE CAME BACK ON AND HAS NOT GONE OFF. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AND STATIONARY.
MY KIA SORENTO'S BRAKELIGHTS WILL NOT LUMINATE. I CHANGED THE BULBS AND THEY STILL WILL NOT LUMINATE. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH, I FOUND MANY OTHERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM AND IN 2013, THERE WAS A RECALL FOR 2011 KIA SORENTOS BECAUSE THE BRAKE LAMP SWITCH WAS FAULTY. AFTER CONTACTING THE DEALER. I WAS TOLD MY VIN WAS NOT ONE OF THE ONES RECALLED.. I HAD NO IDEA MY BRAKE LIGHTS WERE NOT WORKING UNTIL I WAS PULLED OVER BY THE POLICE WHILE DRIVING THROUGH THE CITY. I HAVE ATTACHED A COPY OF THE RECALL NOTICE
FRONT PASSENGER SEAT OCCUPANT AIRBAG SENSOR MAT FAILED. THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON WITHOUT CAUSE. TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM. MY RESEARCH SHOWS THAT THIS IS A SYSTEMIC PROBLEM WITH KIA'S. MANY KIA'S HAVE ALREADY BEEN RECALLED. IT DOES NOT APPEAR THAT THIS MODEL HAS BEEN RECALLED AS OF YET. PLEASE ADVISE.
MY CAR HAS STALLED PLENTY OF TIMES WITHIN 3 MONTHS. TWO OF WHICH I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED ON THE HWY!. CAR STALLS, NO POWER THEN SHUTS OFF. I WOULD SHUT IT OFF FOR A BIT THEN TURN IT BACK ON. I DID TAKE IT IN TO THE SHOP AND THEY FOUND NOTHING ELSE BUT WAS CHARGED FOR THROTTLE AND NEW SPARKS.OH, AND NO LIGHTS ON DASH. SAME THING HAPPENED. LOTS OF MONEY SPENT. I STILL OWE ON IT SO I CAN'T AFFORD TO GET ANOTHER CAR. DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO NEXT.
The Pearl White paint is peeling off of my 2011 Kia Sorento. The dealer is aware of this and had no response. I was told by other individuals with the same problem to file this information in anticipation of a recall. This has been happening over the past year and a half.
THE VEHICLE'S AIRBAG LIGHT TURNED ON WHEN STATIONARY (AS I STARTED THE CAR) AND REMAINED ON AT ABOUT 100,000 MILES. MECHANIC INSPECTION YIELDED ISSUE WITH STEERING WHEEL CLOCK SPRING. MECHANIC ORDERED PART FROM KIA DEALERSHIP BUT THERE IS A MANUFACTURING ISSUE AND THE VEHICLE HAS TO BE RETROFITTED TO FIT THE PART. AS OF 8/5/2019, THERE ARE NO UNREPAIRED RECALLS ON THIS CAR OR FOR THIS SPECIFIC SAFETY ISSUE, BUT YEARS OF DOCUMENTATION OF COMPLAINTS FOR IT, AND IT IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. WHY HASN'T THIS BEEN ADDED AS A FORMAL RECALL? HAVE NOT CHECKED CRUISE CONTROL OR HORN, BUT VOLUME CONTROLS ON STEERING WHEEL STILL WORKING. PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT SOMETIMES OFF WHEN PASSENGER IS ON SEAT, SOMETIMES ON WHEN NO ONE IS IN SEAT.
PAINT DELAMINATING CAUSING RUST ON HOOD AND ROOF OF VEHICLE, GRADUALLY GETTING WORSE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 KIA SORENTO. WHILE THE CONTACT'S DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED. THE DRIVER WAS FLAGGED DOWN BY ANOTHER MOTORIST WHO ALERTED HER THAT FLAMES AND SMOKE WERE VISIBLE UNDER THE VEHICLE NEAR THE TAILPIPE. THE CONTACT IMMINENTLY PULLED OVER TO THE SHOULDER AND EXITED THE VEHICLE. WITHIN SECONDS, THE POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENTS ARRIVED AT THE SCENE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FLAMES. THE DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE WAS UNKNOWN. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BY AAA CAR INSURANCE BACK TO THE CONTACT'S HOME. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 200,000.
FIRST ISSUE BEGAN WHEN CAR STARTED PULLING TO RIGHT WHEN GOING AROUND CORNERS ON HIGHWAY. TOOK TO SHOP; PAID FOR NEW BRAKES INCLUDING PADS, ROTORS, FRONT CALIPERS PLUS FRONT DRIVER SIDE BALL JOINT REPLACED. BALL JOINT RUSTED OUT SO BAD IT CRUMBLED TO PIECES WHEN TIRE WAS TAKEN OFF. NOT OUT OF SHOP FOR EVEN A FULL DAY WHEN THE CAR STARTED PULLING AGAIN. THIS TIME IT WAS A HARD PULL TO THE RIGHT WHILE GOING STRAIGHT ON HIGHWAY AND IN TOWN. THIS TIME THE PULL WAS SO STRONG THE CAR WENT OFF ROAD. THIS TIME IT FELT LIKE STEERING WENT OUT COMPLETELY. SO BACK TO SHOP TO FIND OUT THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE BALL JOINT WAS ALSO SHOT AND NEEDED REPLACED. CAR BEEN OUT OF SHOP BARELY 2 WKS; NOW FRONT END IS MAKING A HARD CLUNKY NOISE WHEN TURNING AND GOING OVER JUST THE SLIGHTEST BUMPS. THE CAR FEELS LIKE YOU ARE DRIVING OVER BOULDERS AND SOUNDS LIKE THE WHOLE FRONT END IS ABOUT TO FALL APART. SO BACK TO THE SHOP FOR THIRD TIME IN LESS THAN ONE MONTH. READ MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ONLINE REGARDING THESE SAME ISSUES? IM PRETTY SURE I'LL BE PAYING FOR STRUTS, SHOCKS AND/OR COMPLETE REPAIR OF FRONT END SUSPENSION AFTER ALREADY PUTTING $800 IN TO IT. HOW HAS THIS CAR NOT BEEN RECALLED FOR SUCH ISSUES?

AN APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED WITH LEE JOHNSON KIA (425-827-0521, LOCATED AT 11845 NE 85TH ST, KIRKLAND, WA 98033). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 159,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TAYLOR KIA OF TOLEDO (6300 CENTRAL AVE, TOLEDO, OH 43615, (419) 842-8811) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE WARRANTY BECAUSE THE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SENSOR MAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,100.

THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO OCCUR DESPITE MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 138,000.

THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO FUCCILLO KIA OF CLAY (3885 NY-31, LIVERPOOL, NY 13090) WHERE IT WAS REPAIRED PER THE RECALL. SIX MONTHS LATER, THE FAILURE RECURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT HAD NOT NOTIFIED THE MANUFACTURER OF THE MOST RECENT FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 82,000.
TWICE, WHILE DRIVING SLOWLY AND PREPARING TO STOP THE ENGINE REVS FAST IN ATTEMPT TO RACE ON FORWARD ALTHO I AM SLOWING DOWN AND PREPARING TO PARK VEHICLE. I AM FORCED TO REACT BY RUSHING & PUTTING MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE TO STOP THE RACING OF THE ENGINE.

FRONT PASSENGER DOOR LOCK CLICKS BUT WON'T LOCK. FRONT DRIVER'S DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM OUTSIDE HANDLE, ONLY INSIDE HANDLE. AIR BAG LIGHT STAYS ON, STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS STOPPED OPERATING RADIO AND PHONE CALLS. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM BATTERY LIGHT COMES ON INTERMITTENTLY.
IN NOVEMBER 2015 HAD MAJOR OIL LINE FAILURE, DEALERSHIP REPLACED OIL PRESSURE SWITCH. IN DECEMBER 2017 HAD MAJOR OIL LEAK, DEALERSHIP REPLACED OIL PRESSURE SWITCH. JUNE 2019 CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ACTIVATED UPON PUTTING VEHICLE IN PARK. TOOK IT TO KIA DEALERSHIP AND THEY FOUND PIECES OF BEARING IN THE BOTTOM OF OIL FILTER HOUSING. KIA DEALERSHIP RECOMMENDED REPLACEMENT OF BANK OIL CONTROL VALVE AND ULTIMATELY REPLACEMENT OF ENGINE. VEHICLE ONLY HAS 86,600 MILES ON IT. KIA DEALERSHIPS NOT INTERESTED IN BUYING VEHICLE AND QUOTE ME APPROXIMATELY $6,000 TO REPLACE ENGINE. I SUSPECT THIS MAY BE SAME ISSUE KIA HAD WITH 2012 SORRENTOS WHICH LED TO RECALL.
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE STALLS. HAPPENS MORE FREQUENTLY THAN WHEN FIRST STARTED
On 06/05/2019 my Kia Sorrento 2011 vin [XXX] EX V6 2WD engulfed in flames yards from my home as my family barley escaped as it exploded. My husband in shock across the street video taped and took pictures of this horrific event. This is not a accident incident no other vehicle or object involved. Kia complaint filed #[XXX] accident millage: 99,000 Police report filed w Missouri Hwy Patrol Corporal Kline #[XXX] Vehicle was "inspected" post fire by a Kia inspector reported due to fire undetermined cause?! Vehicle purchased at World Kia in Joliet 2525 W. Jefferson Joliet, IL 60435 on 10/01/2015 registered Certified Manufactured warranty purchase Vehicle # [XXX] administration address: 175 W. Jackson Chicago, IL 60604 Extended Warranty purchased at the time of sale. MY VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY. HAD DRIVEN DAY BEFORE. WENT TO START AND HEAR CLICKING NOISE LIKE STARTER PROBLEM. CALL TOW TRUCK TO TAKE TO SHOP $92.32. SHORT IN WIRING DOWN BY STARTER ASSEMBELY. REQUIRED REPAIR AND RETEST OF SYSTEM. $311.39
THE AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON AND WILL NOT GO OFF. THERE IS NOTHING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT AND IT DOES NOT GO AWAY WHEN TURNING THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON. THIS MEANS THAT'S THE AIRBAGS WILL NOT DEPLOY IN THE CASEBOOK OF AN ACCIDENT WHICH IS A HAZARD.

RAN TO GET MY GRANDDAUGHTER OUT OF HER CAR SEAT AND A THIRD PASSENGER MY DAUGHTER GOT OUT OF THE BACKSEAT AS WELL. WITH IN MINUTES THE CAR WAS TOTALLY IN FLAMES.*DT VIN UNKNOWN. CONSUMER STATED SHE SUFFERED 2ND DEGREE BURNS. *JB

THE CONTACT STATED THAT IT TOOK MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO START THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BOB BELL NISSAN (7900 EASTERN AVE, BALTIMORE, MD 21224, (410) 288-2500) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS ALSO TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,156.
My KIA Sorrento spontaneously engulfed in flames approximately 200 yards from my home. This is not a vehicle crash the car had flames coming from the vents and floor boards. I was the driver my daughter was the passenger and my granddaughter was in the rear car seat we barely escaped with our lives before it exploded and we were steps away as car debre was flying past us.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 KIA SORENTO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HESITATED WHILE DRIVING. WHEN THE RPMS DECREASED, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER, BUT DID NOT FULLY DECELERATE. AFTERWARDS, THE VEHICLE RESET ITSELF. THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE TO A BMW MECHANIC WHO TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE FOR A FEW DAYS, BUT COULD NOT REPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 183,000.
I HAVE A HEAD LIGHTS THAT KEEP GOING IN AND OUT . I HAVE HAD IT REPAIRS A LOT OF TIMES BUT IT KEEPS DOING IT . ITHEN GOT A PAPER IN THE MAIL FOR A EXTENSION ON THE LIGHTS FOR MY MODEL VEHICLE CAUSE THE CONNECTORS IN THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED SO I TOOK IT TO KIA. THEY TOLD ME THAT BECAUSE I HAD IT FIXED SO MANY TIME THAT THERES NOT ENOUGH WIRE TO REPLACE IT AGAIN THIS WAS ON MAY 14 2019 AND THEY SAID THAT MY WHOLE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE CHANGED IN ORDER TO FIX IT BUT THEY WOULD HAVE TO ASK KIA FOR COVERAGE . ON MAY 30TH I CALLED AGAIN TO SEE IF THEY WERE GONNA COVER IT AND THEY SAID NO EVEN THO THIS A SAFETY CONCERN. THAT BECAUSE I DIDN'T GO TO THEM TO FIX IT IN THE FIRST PLACE THEY WONT COVER IT .
