UNABLE TO MOVE SHIFTER FROM PARK WITHOUT USING THE MANUAL SHIFT LOCK OVERRIDE. AMCO INSPECTED ISSUE. ADVISES THAT THERE IS NO SIGNAL BEING SENT FROM THE BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE) TO THE SHIFTER AND THAT I WILL NEED A NEW COMPUTER AND WIRING HARNESS AT A COST OF $3,000+. CAR IS ONLY 4 YEARS OLD WITH 70,000 MILES. REPLACEMENT PART AND LABOR ARE APPARENTLY NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. NOT BEING ABLE TO SHIFT FROM PARK WHEN PRESSURE IS APPLIED TO THE BRAKE IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD NOT BE ACCEPTABLE. KIA SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR REPLACING THAT PART. I HAVE READ NUMEROUS ONLINE FORUMS THAT MENTION THIS IS HAPPENING TO MANY OTHER USERS. I BELIEVE THIS IS DUE TO A FAULTY OF SUBPAR PART BEING USED IN THE ORIGINAL BUILD AND THAT KIA KNOWS THEY WERE CUTTING CORNERS. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS AND MAKE THESE MANUFACTURERS RESPONSIBLE!!! CONSUMERS SHOULD NOT BE PAYING OVER $30,000 FOR A CAR THAT HAS MAJOR ISSUES 4 YEARS LATER.
MY AC/HEATER FAN IS NO LONGER BLOWING OUT AIR. IN ADDITION, WHILE BRAKING, THE BRAKES HAVE ALWAYS SEEMED TO HAVE NOT BEEN PERFORMING AS IT SHOULD.
WHILE IN MOTION THE STEARING WHEEL HAS A FEEL OF RESISTANCE TO DIRECTIONAL CONTROL THEN SECONDS LATER A FEELING OF RELEASE OF THE RESISTANCE. THIS HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY ON STRAIGHT SECTIONS OF HIGHWAY.
MY WIFE AND I HAD JUST BEEN HOME FOR AN HOUR AFTER A 20 MIN IN TOWN DRIVE. SOMETHING HAD MADE ME LOOK OUT SIDE OF OUR SECOND STORY APARTMENT AND I ASKED MY WIFE IS YOUR CAR RUNNING? THE ENTIRE REAR END WAS ENGULFED IN BLUE SMOKE. SHE SAID NO! SO THEN BEGAN PANIC MODE! I RAN DOWNSTAIRS TO THE SMELL OF ELECTRIC FIRE. SO I INSTANTLY WHEN TO MY PICKUP TRUCK GRABBED A PAIR OF PLIERS RAN BACK TO MY WIFE'S KIA AND UNPLUGGED BOTH POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE BATTERY CONNECTIONS FROM THE TERMINALS WHICH INSTANTLY STOPPED THE SMOKE. I GRABBED MY FLASHLIGHT (IT WAS DUSK) AND CRAWLED UNDERNEATH THE REAR BUMPER TO SEE WHAT WAS HAPPENING. A LITTLE BLACK BOX TUCKED BEHIND THE BUMPER BETWEEN THE SPARE AND THE BUMPER. LOOKED LIKE A JUNCTION BOX OF WIRE HAD MELTED AND ALMOST CAUGHT ON FIRE. WHAT IF WE WHERE NOT AROUND? THE CAR WOULD BE A TOTAL LOSS.
2016 KIA SORRENTO LX WITH THE 2.4 ENGINE WITH 54,000 MILES IS USING 1 QUART OF OIL PER 400 MILES. THE TAIL PIPE IS EMITTING AN OILY BLACK SOOT. WHILE DRIVING, AN ENGINE TICKING NOISE ALERTS US THAT THE OIL IS LOW. AT THIS RATE WE WILL HAVE REPLACED ALL THE OIL WITH 18.5 QUARTS OF OIL BEFORE THE SCHEDULED 7,500 MILE OIL CHANGE. THE MECHANIC AT THE PORTLAND OREGON AREA DEALERSHIP IS TRYING TO TELL US THIS IS NORMAL. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY INVOLVED IN THEIR OIL CONSUMPTION TEST LOOP, LIKE SO MANY OTHERS. I SMELL A RAT.
WHEN DRIVING UP HILL THE CAR WENT INTO LIMP MODE ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS AND THE REPLACE ENGINE LIGHT BEGAN FLASHING IMMEDIATELY AS I LIMPED OF THE FREEWAY BARELY SAVING MY LIFE, HAD MY CAR TOWED WHERE I AM UNDER WARRANTEE AND KIA REFUSES TO REPLACE MY ENGINE WHICH BURNS ALMOST EVERY DROP OF OIL IN UNDER 5000 MILES, 66,000 MILES
THUMPING NOISE AND SENSATION FROM REAR AXLE/SUSPENSION AREA WHILE ACCELERATING FROM STOP OR LIGHTLY ACCELERATING ON LOCAL ROADS. I REVIEWED A PREVIOUS RECALL FOR THIS YEAR AND WHILE MY VIN WAS NOT IN THE RECALLED LIST, THE DESCRIPTION OF THE ISSUES SOUNDS VERY SIMILAR. TL* THE CONTACT CALLED ON BEHALF OF A FRIEND WHO OWNS A 2016 KIA SORENTO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HIS FRIEND WAS DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE WOULD SHUDDERED INTERMITTENTLY WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT HAD STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AND INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND WAS DIAGNOSED WITH AN ENGINE MISFIRE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT LINKED THE FAILURE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V224000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. AN UNNAMED DEALER WAS CONTACTED IN REGARD TO POSSIBLE RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SUBJECTED TO A RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 95,000.
MY 2016 EX TURBO SORRENTO HAS A STEERING ISSUE. THE STEERING FEELS LIKE IT STICKS OR HESITATES. THE FEELING IS DIFFICULT TO DESCRIBE AS IT IS NOT LIKE ANY STEERING I HAVE EXPERIENCED BEFORE . IT IS AS THOUGH SOMETHING MECHANICAL IN THE LOWER PART OF THE ASSEMBLY IS HESITATING OR SLIGHTLY JERKING AND NOT GIVING THE CORRECT FEEDBACK AND NOT ACCEPTING THE DRIVERS INPUT CORRECTLY . I KNOW THERE ARE BOTH ELECTRICAL AND MECHANICAL SYSTEMS INVOLVED IN THE STEERING AND SOMETHING BETWEEN THEM IS NOT WORKING CORRECTLY. THERE ARE CERTAIN DRIVING CONDITIONS WHEN THIS IS NO DOUBT A SAFETY ISSUE , LIKE IN THE RAIN WHEN YOU ARE NOT GETTING THE CORRECT FEEDBACK FROM THE STEERING AND ARE ARE DRIVING BETWEEN 2 SEMI TRUCKS AT 70 MPH. THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE A SAFETY RECALL AND FIXED BEFORE THERE ARE PEOPLE INJURED OR WORSE FROM THE EFFECTS OF THIS DEFECT. I HAVE TAKEN THIS TO A KIA DEALER AND THEY SAID THE DROVE IT AND DID NOT FEEL A PROBLEM. I HAVE REPORTED IT TO KIA CONSUMER AFFAIRS BEFORE THE CAR WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND AGAIN NOW THAT IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY . THIS ISSUE CAN BE FELT WHEN DRIVING OR WHEN STATIONARY . TO BE CLEAR , THE DRIVER HAS TO CONSTANTLY MAKE SMALL ADJUSTMENTS TO KEEP THE CAR DRIVING IN A STRAIGHT LINE , AND WHEN MAKING THESE ADJUSTMENTS THE STEERING FEELS STICKY SO IT REQUIRES EXTRA FORCE TO MOVE. I WOULD LIKE TO ADD THAT OTHER THAN THE DESCRIBED STEERING ISSUE THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN EXCELLENT IN EVERY WAY AND VERY DEPENDABLE .
MY 2016 SORENTO (EX) HAS STICKY STEERING. KIA IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND ISSUES AN UPGRADE TO THE CARS COMPUTER SYSTEM BUT IT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. WHEN TRYING TO MOVE THE STEERING WHEEL, IT INITIALLY STICKS AND REQUIRES EXTRA FORCE TO GET IT TO PROVIDE A STEERING INPUT. ONCE IT GETS PAST THE INITIAL RESISTANCE, IT JERKS THE CAR IN THE DIRECTION YOU ARE TRYING TO GO WHICH REQUIRED COMPENSATION IN THE OTHER DIRECTION. UPON CORRECTION, IT JERKS THE CAR IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION CAUSING A CONTINUAL NEED TO CORRECT THE STEERING WHEEL TO KEEP THE CAR STRAIGHT AND CAUSING THE CAR TO NOT BE ABLE TO MAINTAIN PERFECTLY STRAIGHT TRAVEL. ON LARGE SWEEPING CORNERS, THIS PROBLEM IS EVEN MORE PRONOUNCED AND FEELS DANGEROUS. MY CAR IS OUT OF ITS BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY AND DESPITE ME HAVING THE CAR INTO KIA DEALERSHIPS TWICE WHILE IN WARRANTY AND THE ORIGINAL COMPUTER "FIX" NOT WORKING, KIA IS NOT GUARANTEEING THAT WHEN I BRING THE CAR BACK THAT IT WILL BE FIXED UNDER WARRANTY. THE FIX FOR THE PROBLEM IS REPLACING THE STEERING RACK OR OTHER STEERING COMPONENTS. THE STICKING ISSUE IS INTERMITTENT BUT WHEN IT IS ACTING UP IT CAN BE FELT WHILE STATIONARY AND IN MOTION. THIS INTERMITTENT ISSUE STARTED AROUND 30,000 MILES AND CONTINUES THROUGH 70,000 MILES.I BELIEVE A RECALL SHOULD OCCUR TO CORRECT THIS POTENTIALLY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE BOLTS THAT SECURED THE ENGINE HEAD TO THE BLOCK WERE STRIPPED WHICH CAUSED THE ENGINE TO BE DESTROYED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE AND A CASE WAS FILED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 74,999. THE VIN WAS INVALID.

REPLACEMENT PART AND LABOR ARE APPARENTLY NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. CAR HAS BEEN KEPT IN EXCELLENT SHAPE WITH ROUTINE MAINTENANCE AND HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. NOT BEING ABLE TO SHIFT FROM PARK WHEN PRESSURE IS APPLIED TO THE BRAKE IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD NOT BE ACCEPTABLE. KIA SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR REPLACING THAT PART. I HAVE READ NUMEROUS ONLINE FORUMS THAT MENTION THIS IS HAPPENING TO MANY OTHER USERS. I WAS INVOLVED IN A REAR END COLLISION ON FRIDAY, JAN. 3, 2020. I WAS STOPPED/STATIONARY BEHIND A VEHICLE TURNING LEFT ON A ONE LANE (IN BOTH DIRECTIONS) ROAD TRAVELING SOUTH. THE CAR BEHIND ME STRUCK MY VEHICLE GOING BETWEEN 30-35 MPH. MY VEHICLE WAS THRUST FORWARD AND HIT THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME AND THEN THE VEHICLE BEHIND ME STRUCK MY AGAIN, FELT LIKE BUMPER CARS. DURING THE INITIAL REAR IMPACT MY FACE SLAMMED INTO THE STEERING WHEEL CAUSING MY NOSE TO BLEED PROFUSELY FOR AT LEAST 25 MINUTES. I STILL HAVE BLOOD COMING OUT OF MY NOSE FOUR DAYS LATER. DURING THIS ACCIDENT IN WHICH MY VEHICLE EXPERIENCED BOTH FRONT AND REAR COLLISION DAMAGE MY AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY NOR DID MY SEATBELT LOCK. AS A RESULT I SUFFERED A HEAD INJURY BOTH FRONT AND BACK OF MY HEAD.
THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR HANDLE DOES NOT OPEN AFTER USING THE KEY FOB TO UNLOCK THE DOOR OR USING THE KEY TO UNLOCK THE DOOR. AFTER USING THE KEY FOB, YOU MUST USE GREAT FORCE TO OPEN THE DOOR AND CLOSE IT SECURELY. WHEN THIS VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED, WE WERE TOLD THAT A RECALL HAD BEEN COMPLETED TO CORRECT THIS SAFETY ISSUE, HOWEVER I DOUBT THAT. ONCE A DOOR IS UNLOCKED IT SHOULD NOT TAKE GREAT FORCE TO OPEN IT. MY FEAR IS THAT WHILE DRIVING THIS DOOR MAY DISENGAGE AND OPEN WHILE IN TRANSIT. 10 MONTHS NOW I'VE GONE WITH DRIVING MY 2016 KIA SORENTO BY ENTERING A SCREW DRIVER IN THE OVERRIDE MODE BECAUSE I CAN'T GET OUT OF PARK THE MORAL WAY. I'VE TAKEN THIS CAR INTO SHAWNEE MISSION KIA SO MANY TIMES I'VE LOST COUNT AND THEY HAVE NOT ONLY REFUSED TO TAKE CARE OF THIS PROBLEM, INDICATING THAT BCM OR BODY CONTROL MODULER ISN'T COVERED UNDER MY WARRANTY. WELL LET ME SAY THIS THEY GOT OVER ON ME ONCE ALREADY TELLING ME I HAD TO TURN A CLAIM IN ON THE FUEL PIPE, AND UNDER CARRIAGE PARTS THAT I NOW REALIZE WAS ALL A LIE AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED BECAUSE KIA KNEW ABOUT ALL THOSE PARTS BEING DANGEROUS AND STILL STOOD BY THE 'IT HAD TO ME HITTING SOMETHING UNDER CAR' .. IT'S NOW ALL SURFACED VIA CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT AND THEY STILL REFUSE TO TAKE CAR OF MY DRIVE PROBLEM! THEY WILL NOT GET ME AGAIN AND I AM SO FRUSTRATED THAT I JUST WANT THEM TO TAKE THE CAR BACK! I'LL NEVER OWN ANOTHER KIA AFTER THIS! PREVIOUSLY PURCHASED TWO BRAND NEW VEHICLES FROM THEM OVER 35,000 A CAR AND THEY CAN'T SEEM TO FIND IT REASONABLE TO MAKE CAR DRIVE WITHOUT A SCREW DRIVER! FED UP!
We have to constant add oil to the engine in between our 3000 mile oil changes, at least a quart or more. There are no oil leaks anywhere on the engine. The engine makes a loud "ticking" noise and doesn't have the power. The transmission also has issues shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. We have even noticed from time to time a smell of gasoline from what seems to be coming from under the vehicle, but no signs of it leaking anywhere. Also the gas pedal doesn't always have the same "feel" when pushing it
I would like to confirm if the recall for 2016 Kia Sorento Transmission Shift Level Assembly also covers all of us who have reported complaints about having to use a screw driver to engage our vehicles out of park? This is a safety concerns just as well as the cars that are impacted by the shift lever slipping out of park while engine off. using a screw driver because Kia refuses to replace the part they have acknowledged is faulty, is something that customers should not be responsible for fixing. If there was an issue identified (and clearly there was) the exact same year, make and model and part (the shift lever itself) then the investigation either needs to be expanded or Kia needs to just own that these parts need replaced in a larger span than the recall currently covers. please let me know as I am getting no assistance with these issues from my dealership - Shawnee Mission Kia in Kansas. thanks
I OPENED THE LEFT REAR DOOR AND THE HANDLE CAME OFF. I OPENED THE RIGHT REAR DOOR AND THE HANDLE CAME OFF ALSO. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY. I PUT THEM BACK ON WHICH WAS DIFFICULT AND UPON ARRIVING AT MY DESTINATION WHICH WAS 20 MINUTES AWAY THE SMALLER PART OF THE HANDLE CAME OFF.
TOTAL ENGINE FAILURE AT 50 THOUSAND MILES AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. TRANSMISSION ACTING FUNNY & SHIFTING HARD IN WEEKS PRIOR TO ENGINE FAILURE.

DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AT 65 MILES PER HOUR AND CAR SUDDENLY LOST ALL POWER AND CAME TO COMPLETE STOP IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. VEHICLE RESTARTED AFTER 2 ATTEMPTS. TOOK TO KIA DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND THERE WAS NO RECORDED CODE AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO RE-CREATE ISSUE SO NOTHING WAS DONE. READING OTHER COMPLAINTS OF SUDDEN STALLS ON THIS SITE MAKES DRIVING THIS VEHICLE SCARY. THE VEHICLE HAS ONLY 31K MILES ON IT AND HAS HAD NO OTHER ISSUES. KIA SHOULD BE DOING SOMETHING BEFORE SOMEONE HAS A TRAGIC ACCIDENT!
WE HAVE EXPERIENCED RANDOM EVENTS WHERE THE HEADLIGHTS GO OUT FOR 5-10 SECONDS. THIS MAKES FOR A VERY SCARY SITUATION FOR ME AND MY FAMILY WHEN DRIVING IN THE EVENING AND IT ALL GETS DARK. WE NOTICE WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, CITY STREET OR HIGHWAY, WE COULD BE IN THE CAR FOR SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME OR LONGER AMOUNT OF TIME, WARM AND COLD WEATHER, WET AND DRY WEATHER, HAVEN'T NOTICED WHILE TURNING BUT HAVE ON STRAIGHT ROADS, DASHBOARD GOES DARK TOO WHEN THE HEADLIGHTS GO OUT. THE LOCAL KIA DEALERSHIP CANNOT REPLICATE THE ISSUE SINCE IT IS VERY RANDOM IN NATURE. THIS HAS HAPPENED A NUMBER OF TIMES OVER THE PAST TWO YEARS. THERE HAVE BEEN NO INJURIES DUE TO THIS YET.
WHILE PASSING, SUDDEN LOSS OF ALL POWER. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. FROM THAT POINT ON, VERY LOW POWER. WHEN I GOT HOME, THERE WAS A FAIRLY LOUD ENGINE KNOCK AND OIL COMING FROM TAIL PIPE. TOOK CAR TO INDEPENDENT SHOP WHO DIAGNOSED THE ISSUE AS ROD KNOCK. HAD THE CAR TOWED TO KIA DEALER WHO THEN SAID IT NEEDED A NEW ENGINE. ONLY 82,000 MILES ON VEHICLE. KIA COVERED THE PARTS AND LABOR TO REPLACE. WHEN THE SHOP DROPPED THE ENGINE, THEY NOTICED THE DRIVE SPLINES ON BOTH THE AWD TRANSFER CASE AND TRANSMISSION WERE BOTH RUSTED AND ALL TEETH SHEARED OFF ON THE FWD SIDE OF THE SPINES. RWD STILL INTACT. KIA WOULD NOT COVER NEITHER WOULD THE EXTENDED WARRANTY COMPANY BECAUSE OF THE RUST. THAT IS A SEALED UNIT WITH MULTIPLE RUBBER GASKETS. HOW COULD IT POSSIBLY HAVE RUSTED? THIS IS A MAJOR DESIGN FLAW AS THERE SHOULD BEEN ADEQUATE HEAVY LUBRICANT AS WELL AS SEALING TO PREVENT THESE PARTS FROM RUSTING. NEW TRANSMISSION REQUIRED $1800, AND NEW TRANSFER CASE WOULD HAVE BEEN ANOTHER $2500. CHOSE SLIGHTLY USED UNIT FOR $1000. IT TOOK ALMOST 8 WEEKS TO RESOLVE. NOW CAR IS LEAKING OIL ON TO EXHAUST. BACK TO DEALER IT GOES...

IT BECOMES MUCH MORE PRONOUNCED WHEN ON A FLAT, STRAIGHT SURFACE AND I AM DRIVING 60+ MPH. THIS MAKES MINOR CORRECTIONS HARD TO DO WHEN DRIVING TO STAY IN MY LANE AS THE VEHICLE SEEMS TO REQUIRE SIGNIFICANT PRESSURE TO TURN RIGHT OR LEFT. THIS ENDS UP BECOMING A SERIES OF CONSTANT CORRECTIONS FROM INADVERTENTLY OVERSTEERING. THIS IS VERY FATIGUE INDUCING AND CAN BE FRUSTRATING, EVEN WHEN I AM VERY WELL RESTED AND ALERT. I'M CONCERNED IT'LL AFFECT OTHER DRIVERS AS THEY MAY DRIVE ERRATICALLY WHEN PASSING AS THEY MATCH MY STEERING CORRECTIONS. MY LOCAL KIA DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN VERY HELPFUL AND RECEIEVED PERMISSION TO REMEDY IT UNDER WARRANTY AND WILL REPLACE THE ENTIRE STEERING COLUMN AND ASSOCIATED PARTS. CURRENTLY THE STEERING COLUMN IS ON BACKORDER AND HAS BEEN FOR AT LEAST THREE WEEKS. I BELIEVE THE STEERING COLUMN ISSUE MAY BE BIGGER THAN INDICATED VIA REPORTS JUDGING BY THE BACKORDER ISSUE. EVENTUALLY THE PASSAGE BECOME CLOGGED AND CAUSING OIL FLOW TO THE PHASIVERS TO BE RESTRICTED - LEADING TO A LOCKED ENGINE. THE ONLY FIX, A NEW ENGINE. ALTHOUGH I AM STILL UNDER POWER TRAIN - THEY REQUEST I DRIVE THE VEHICLE 1000 MILES FOR TESTING BEFORE APPROVING HOWEVER THE ENGINE CODE TELLS US FURTHER DRIVE WILL LOCK THE ENGINE. EXACTLY WHAT OLDER MODELS WERE PREVIOUSLY RECALLED FOR. WITH THIS KIA GIVES YOU NO PROPER SOLUTION AND NO GUARANTEE TO COVER.

OIL WAS REPLACED AND TWO WEEK LATER THE SAME THING. MY 4TH CYLINDER HAS NOW DIED . THE SPARK PLUGS WERE REPLACED AND IT WAS FINE FOR TWO WEEKS THEN STOPPED WORKING AGAIN WHILE I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY. REPLACED COIL PACK BUT THIS DID NOT CHANGE ANYTHING. UPON INVESTIGATION I FOUND OUT THE ENGINE HAD BEEN RECALLED BUT NO EVIDENCE OR RECALL WAS SHOWING FOR THIS VEHICLE. PER WEBSITE REPLACED ENGINES HAVE BRIGHT ORANGE DIP STICK FOR THE OIL WHICH THIS VEHICLE DOES, BUT ALL THE PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH ORIGINAL RECALL INFORMATION EXISTS. I FILED COMPLAINT WITH KIA ONLY TO BE DIRECTED TO A DEALERSHIP. THE FRONT LEFT LOW BEAM HAS BURNT OUT TWICE WITHIN 6 MONTHS AS WELL.

SMOKE BEGAN TO EMIT FROM UNDER BOTH SIDES OF THE HOOD. AS I GATHERED MY PURSE AND COAT, THE SMOKE BECOME MORE VOLUMNIOS AND DARK. A MAN IN A CAR PARKED NEAR ME, APPROACHED THE CAR WITH HIS FIRE EXTINGUISHER, AIMED UNDER THE CLOSED HOOD AND SPRAYED. IT DID NO GOOD. AS HE DID THIS, I CALLED 911 TO REQUEST A FIRE CREW. BY THE TIME THEY ARRIVED, THE CAR WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES. THE CAR IS A TOTAL LOSS, JUST METAL CHARRED REMAINS.

2016 KIA SORENTO WITH 67,000 MILES HAD FLASHING CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. CAR WAS TOWED TO THE KIA DEALERSHIP IN WHICH THE SERVICE ADVISOR SAID THE FUEL INJECTOR WAS BROKEN WHICH SPILLED FUEL INTO THE MOTOR CAUSING $7,800.00 OF DAMAGE. THE DIAGNOSIS SIS NOT AND WILL NOT DETERMINE IF IT IS A FAULTY INJECTOR AND KIA WILL NOT PARTICIPATE IN COVERING THE OTHER PARTS EFFECTED IN THE WARRANTY. THEY OFFERED A GOOD GRACE ASSISTANCE FOR $2,500 BUT OFFERED A HIGHER PRICE ON THE PARTS SAYING THEY ARE PARTS COVERED IN A FACTORY MANUFACTURING WARRANTY. REGARDLESS I NEVER HAD SYMPTOMS OF A WORN FUEL INJECTOR AND BELIEVE THE FUEL INJECTOR IS AND WAS FAULTY AND SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED FURTHER. THE KIA MANAGERS BELIEVE THIS IS NORMAL FOR CARS AND THAT THEY WILL NOT COMPLY WITH THE WARRANTY BECAUSE OF THE INJECTOR CAUSING THE DAMAGE. THE INJECTOR IS NOT COVERED IN THE LIMITED 100,000 MILE WARRANTY. THIS HAPPENED ON MONDAY SEPTEMBER 16, 2019 AND WAS ON A ACCESS ROAD 5 MILES AWAY FROM MY HOME. CURRENTLY THE CAR IS AT THE DEALERSHIP WHILE I WAIT FOR THE NEXT SUPERVISOR FROM KIA CORPORATE CALL ME IN REGARDS TO THE FINAL OFFER ON THIS REPAIR.
