VEHICLE WILL ACCELERATE AND THEN LOSE POWER. TOOK IT IN THEY SAID NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. 450.00 TO FIX TAILGHTS AND HEADLIGHTS ALL WENT OUT WITHIN A WEEK OF EACH OTHER. WHEELS SENSORS KEEP SAYING LOW TIRES EVEN AFTER NEW TIRES OUT ON.
2ND ENGINE FAILURE IN LESS THAN 1 YEAR. DEALERSHIP REPLACED 1ST ENGINE IN FEBRUARY 2018 WHICH THEN FAILED IN JANUARY 2019. DEALERSHIP (KIA OF CHERRY HILL NJ 1803 MARLTON PIKE W, CHERRY HILL, NJ 08002) UNABLE TO DETERMINE CAUSE. DEALERSHIP UNSURE WHEN NEW ENGINE WOULD BE AVAILABLE. DRIVING LOANER VEHICLE SINCE JANUARY 2019.
STEERING IS WHAT'S CALLED NOTCHY OR STICKY. WHEN DRIVING (WHETHER IT BE STRAIGHT ON A CITY STREET, STRAIGHT ON A HIGHWAY, OR EVEN ON CURVY ROADS, SLOW OR FAST) STEERING WHEEL TAKES EFFORT TO TURN THEN LETS GO, CAUSES OVER STEER REACTION. DANGEROUS. STEERING EVEN MOVES ON ITS OWN AT A COMPLETE STOP. I BEGAN NOTICING IT IN JANUARY OF 2019. SINCE THEN, ITS GOTTEN WORSE.
STEERING STICKS CAUSES DRIVER TO JERK THE WHEEL LEFT OR RIGHT WHILE IN MOTION HAPPENS ALL THE TIME AT ANY SPEED ON ANY TYPE OF ROAD AND HAPPENS WHILE TURNING OR STRAIGHT. . DEALER STATED NEEDS WHOLE NEW MDPS STEERING COLUMN ASSY. THIS IS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUE. MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS UNDER THE KIA FORUMS. RECALL NEEDS TO BE DONE ASAP! HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR 3 + YEARS NOW.
WHILE COMING TO A STOP WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL ENGAGED THE ENGINE STARTED TO ACCELERATE. I STOOD ON THE BRAKE BUT THE CAR KEPT CREEPING FORWARD. I THREW THE SHIFTER INTO NUETRAL AND THEN INTO PARK. THE ENGINE QUIT ACCELERATING AND EVERY THING WORKED AS IT WAS SUPPOSE TOO. I CAME WITHIN A COUPLE OF INCHES OF THE CAR INFRONT OF ME.
WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, ON BOTH CITY STREETS AND INTERSTATES, AND AT BOTH LOW OR HIGHER SPEEDS THE VEHICLE'S HEADLIGHTS, TAIL LIGHTS AND OTHER LIGHTING WILL TURN OFF ON THEIR OWN. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SPECIFICALLY AFTER SUNSET WHEN IT IS COMPLETELY DARK. I TOOK THE VEHICLE FOR REPAIR AT MY LOCAL KIA DEALER FOR SERVICE AND THEY SAID THERE IS AN "OPEN CIRCUIT IN IPM (FUSE BLOCK)." I THINK THIS SHOULD BE A MANDATORY RECALL TO RECTIFY THE SITUATION AND MAKE ALL THE VEHICLES SAFE FOR MY FAMILY, MYSELF AND FOR OTHER DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS ON THE ROAD WHO COULD END UP IN AN ACCIDENT DUE TO THIS ISSUE.
GOING 45 MILES PER HOUR AND HIT IN LEFT FRONT AND DRIVEN INTO THE SIDE OF A PARKED CAR AND NO AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. ALL 3 CARS WERE TOTALED AND KIA MOTORS SAID THE AIRBAGS SHOULD NOT HAVE COME OUT.
THE STEERING STICKS NOR MATTER WHAT SPEED I DRIVE. IT INTENSIVES WITH A TIGHTER STICKING OF THE STEERING WHEEL WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 60-65. TO DISLODGE THE STICKING THE WHEEL HAS TO BE TURNED SLIGHTLY TO THE RIGHT, WHICH GIVE ME AN INSECURE FEELING OF NOT HAVING CONTROL OVER THE VEHICLE, BECAUSE THE CAR SHIFTS TO THE RIGHT SLIGHTLY. AT HEIGHT SPEEDS THIS IS A HORRIFYING FEELING. I'VE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP FOUR TIMES NOW. THEY'VE DONE THE DIAGNOSTIC TESTS THE KIA CORPORATION HAS SUGGESTED. PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. I'VE BEEN TOLD THERE HAS BEEN NO RECALL, EVEN THOUGH THERE HAVE BEEN OTHER PERSONS COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THEIR VEHICLES .
WHILE DRIVING THE PANORAMIC SUNROOF IMPLODED SUDDENLY WITH OUT WARNING OR BEING STRUCK BY ANYTHING. MY HUSBAND WASN'T DRIVING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED OR UNDER BAD WEATHER CONDITIONS OTHER THAN BASIC RAIN, LUCKILY OUR INNER SUN SHADE HAD BEEN CLOSED OR THE GLASS WHICH COMPLETELY SHATTERED COULD HAVE FELL ON TOP OF MY SELF AND OUR 3 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER POSSIBLY INJURING US GREATLY AS WE WERE SITTING IN THE REAR SEATS DIRECTLY UNDER IT WHEN THE EVEN OCCUR.
HEADLIGHTS CUTTING OFF RANDOMLY WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT . TOOK TO KIA DEALER AND THEY SAID IT WAS A FAULTY LIGHT SWITCH LOCATED IN THE STEERING COLUMN . IT WAS REPLACED . ONE WEEK LATER , IT HAPPENED AGAIN WHILE WIFE WAS DRIVING , THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP WHO DID THE ORIGINAL REPAIR COULD NOT GET IT IN TO LOOK AT FOR 2 WEEKS . THIS MORNING WIFE WAS DRIVING TO WORK IN THE DARK , WHEN HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT AGAIN , THIS TIME THE DASH LIGHTS ALSO WENT OUT . THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION THAT NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED ASAP. *TR
THE STEERING ON MY SORENTO STALLS WHEN DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS CAUSING OVERCORRECTION TO THE POINT OF ALMOST LOOSING CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. I FOUND MANY SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS DEFECT IN THE STEELING OF THE VEHICLE. LIFE THREATING PROBLEM.
KIA RADIO PLAYS BUT WILL NOT SHOW ANYTHING AND CAN NOT CHANGE ANYTHING.
WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT WHILE MY HEADLIGHTS ARE IN AUTO POSITION THEY WILL RANDOMLY TURN OFF FOR A FEW SECONDS AND THEN CLICK BACK ON. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE IN ONE WEEK. THE LAST TIME, WAS WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH DOWN THE INTERSTATE AND MY HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT WITHOUT WARNING.
OCTOBER 10, 2018 DROVE CAR INTO DRIVEWAY, SHUT CAR OFF, PARKED, WENT INTO HOUSE FOR ABOUT 2 MINS, CAME BACK TO CAR, IT WAS SMOKING FROM UNDER HOOD. I TURNED ON FAUCET IN GARAGE, AND SPRAYED WATER ON CAR. CALLED 911. WITHIN 2 MINS, I SAW FIRST SPARK, LEFT AREA, RAN OVER TO MY SISTERS HOUSE, NEXT DOOR, ON PHONE WITH 911 AND WITHIN 4 MINS OF CAR SMOKE, BURST INTO FLAMES, 2 EXPLOSIONS. FIRE DEPT ARRIVED WITH IN 10 MINS OF SMOKE DETECTION. FLAMES HIGHER THAN THE HOUSE. CAR TOTALED, AND HOUSE SIDING MELTED AWAY FROM HOUSE.

WHILE DRIVING THERE IS A NOTCH LIKE FEELING IN THE STEERING CAUSING A JERK IN THE CAR FOR SIMPLE LANE CORRECTIONS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2016 KIA SORENTO. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE DRIVER WAS ALERTED BY ANOTHER MOTORIST THAT SMOKE WAS COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER, EXITED THE VEHICLE, AND NOTICED FLAMES AND SMOKE COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS IMMEDIATELY CALLED TO THE SCENE AND EXTINGUISHED THE FLAMES. FIRE AND POLICE REPORTS WERE FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. THE LOCAL DEALER (GARY LANG AUTO/KIA, 1107 IL-37, MC HENRY, IL) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
I HAVE HAD 4 SITUATIONS WHERE WHEN MY CAR IS STARTED, THE DASHBOARD WARNING LIGHTS VOME ON. ON TWO OF THESE 4 OCCASIONS, WHEN I ATTEPTED TO SHIFT FROM PARK, I COULD NOT AND THE POWER LOCKS STARTED MALFUNCTIONING. ALL TIMES THE CAR WAS STATIONARY. THE DASHBOARD READS CHECK TPMS SYSTEM. THE KIA DEALERSHIP CANNOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM SO BELIEVE SINCE THEY CANNOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM, THERE IS NO PROBLEM. O HAVE PROVIDED THEM WITH THE PHOTOS AND VIDEO OF THE INCIDENTS.
CANCEL BUTTON ON STEERING WHEEL FOR SPEED CONTROL IS INOPERATIVE ABOUT 30% OF THE TIME WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION ON HIGHWAY AND THE SPEED CONTROL IS ACTIVE. NOTE: STEPPING ON THE THE BRAKE WILL DEACTIVATE THE SPEED CONTROL.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2016 KIA SORENTO. WHILE DRIVING 75 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL NOISE AND NOTICED BLACK SMOKE COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER AND TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE. APPROXIMATELY FIVE MINUTES LATER, THE FRONT OF THE ENGINE CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE FIRE WAS EXTINGUISHED BY THE FIRE DEPARTMENT. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE INSURANCE COMPANY DECLARED THE VEHICLE TO BE A TOTAL LOSS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCATION DETERMINED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 59,000. *DT *JB
ON SEPTEMBER 3, 2018, WHILE DRIVING OUR SORENTO, THERE WAS A LOUD KNOCKING NOISE THAT STARTED UNDER THE HOOD. WE PULLED UP THE UVO INFORMATION ON THE DASH AND IT DID NOT DISPLAY ANY ERRORS. DROVE THE CAR HOME AND HAD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED THE NEXT MORNING TO THE NEAREST KIA DEALERSHIP. AFTER HAVING TO PROVIDE 12 MONTHS OF RECEIPTS FOR OIL CHANGES, KIA AGREED TO COVER THE ENGINE UNDER THEIR WARRANTY. WAITED MONTHS TO GET A NEW ENGINE AFTER BEING TOLD 6 DIFFERENT DATES THAT THE ENGINE WOULD BE IN, WE FINALLY GOT OUR CAR BACK ON JANUARY 16, 2019. AFTER WE PICKED UP THE CAR, WE DROVE IT HOME AND THE CAR HESITATED AND TURNED ITSELF OFF AND COASTED. IT TURNED ITSELF BACK ON AND WE DROVE IT BACK TO THE DEALER AND HERE WE ARE WAITING FOR AN UPDATE THE NEXT DAY. WE HAVE ALSO HAD 5 DIFFERENT RENTAL CARS DUE TO THIS. OUR CAR IS NOT PART OF A RECALL BY THE WAY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 KIA SORENTO. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO REFUEL THE VEHICLE, FUEL SPEWED OUT OF THE FUELING HOLE. THE FUEL NOZZLE WOULD CONTINUE TO CLICK WHILE FUELING. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE FAILURE WOULD OCCUR REGARDLESS OF HOW MUCH FUEL WAS IN THE FUEL TANK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO NATIONWIDE KIA (22 W. TIMONIUM RD, TIMONIUM, MD) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE VAPOR RECOVERY LINE WAS DAMAGED BY INSECTS. THE RECOVERY LINE WAS REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE WAS REMEDIED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 16,500. *TT*JB *TR
THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE ELECTRIC STEERING ON MY CAR, IT HAS A "CATCH" IN THE STEERING WHEEL, WHEN YOU GET IT PAST THAT POINT YOU HAVE OVER CORRECTED AND IS DANGEROUS. IT MAKES IT NEAR IMPOSSIBLE TO HOLD YOUR LANE STRAIGHT. IVE MENTIONED THIS TO THE CAR DEALER SHIP KIA MANY TIMES AND IM SIMPLY TOLD THAT IT IS NORMAL FOR ELECTRIC STEERING THAT I AM NOT USED TO IT. I HAVE SEEN MANY MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS EXACT ISSUE WITH THIS MAKE AND MODEL, SEEMS NO ONE IS DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THIS HAS NEARLY CAUSED ME TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT, JUST THE SLIGHTEST TOUCH TO CORRECT THIS "CATCH" SENDS YOU ONE WAY OR THE OTHER IN YOUR LANE. IT CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS AND I FEEL NO ONE IS TAKING THIS SERIOUSLY, SHOULD SOMEONE HAVE TO DIE BEFORE WE CHECK OUT A POTENTIAL ISSUE? MY CAR HAS 20000 MILES AND HAS BEEN DOING THIS FOR ABOUT THE LAST 6 MONTHS, DID NOT HAPPEN WHEN I FIRST BOUGHT THE VEHICLE.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DEALER (H&H KIA, 4040 S 84TH ST, OMAHA, NE 68127, (402) 331-9100) HAS HAD THE VEHICLE SINCE JANUARY OF 2019, ATTEMPTING TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY WERE UNSURE WHEN NEW ENGINES WOULD BE PRODUCED. THE CONTACT HAS HAD A LOANER VEHICLE FOR THE PAST THREE MONTHS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,000.
WHILE ENTERING HIGHWAY VEHICLE WOULD NOT PICK UP SPEED. ENGINE WOULD REV SLOWLY. PULLED OVER SHUT VEHICLE DOWN AND RESTARTED IT AND THE PROBLEM RESOLVED. CONTACTED DEALER AND WAS TOLD TO BRING IT IN. TOOK TO DEALER AND IT HAD A HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP HISTORY CODE. WAS TOLD THAT IF THAT PUMP FAILS IT WOULD CAUSE WHAT I EXPERIENCED. SINCE PUMP WAS NOW WORKING THEY COULDN'T REPLACE IT PER KIA POLICY. I ASKED AGAIN WHY THEY WOULDN'T JUST REPLACE IT IF WAS SUCH A SAFETY PROBLEM AND THEY STATED THEY COULDN'T UNDER WARRANTY UNLESS IT FAILED, WHICH WOULD MEAN BEING STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD OR CRASHED INTO.
MY TRANSMISSION FAILED WHILE DRIVING, STOPPING AND PICKING UP BECAME UNSAFE. I TOOK IT INTO A KIA DEALERSHIP SINCE IT BECAME DANGEROUS TO DRIVE. I WAS THEN TOLD THAT THERE WAS A TSB SA292 PATCH THAT WAS INTENDED TO PREVENT THIS EXACT ISSUE. KIA IS ONLY WILLING TO COVER PART OF THE COST. I FEEL THIS ISSUE SHOULD BE A RECALL SINCE IT MAKES THE VEHICLE DANGEROUS TO DRIVE.
PANORAMIC SUNROOF MALFUNCTIONED A THIRD TIME. THE FIRST TWO TIMES THEY STATED IT WAS FIXED BUT THIS THIRD TIME THEY DECIDED TO SAY MY CAR WAS SOMEHOW VANDALIZED CAUSING THE SUNROOF NOT TO FUNCTION PROPERLY. SO THAT MEANS THEY WON'T FIX IT ANYMORE. SOUNDS LIKE A NUMBER OF PEOPLE HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE SAME SUNROOF. IF SOMEONE VANDALIZED MY CAR WHY WOULD THEY STAND ON MY SUNROOF TO JUST VANDALIZE IT? SUNROOF WILL OPEN BUT WILL SOMETIMES CLOSE OR NOT AT ALL. THANKS FOR LISTENING.
WE BOUGHT OUR CAR FROM CARVANA JUNE 19, 2018. ON JUNE 27TH THE VEHICLE WASN'T RESPONDING TO ACCELERATION. IT WAS STALLING. IT WOULD GO INTO REVERSE BUT AS SOON AS I PUT IT IN DRIVE IT WOULD STALL. UPON INSPECTION THE SERVICE PERSON HEARD A NOISE COMING FROM THE BELT AREA. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION THEY FOUND THE WATER PUMP LEAKING PROFUSELY COVERING THE SPLASH SHIELD. THE SOP WATER PUMP AND GASKET WERE REMOVED AND REPLACED. THEY TOPPED OFF THE COOLANT AND TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE AND IT BEGAN OPERATING AS DESIGNED. ON AUGUST 21, 2018, THE CAR STARTED HESITATING WHEN I PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY DURING RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. AFTER IT HAD BEEN PARKED ALL DAY I BACKED THE CAR OUT OF THE PARKING GARAGE AND ONCE I PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE IT STALLED. AGAIN, I STARTED THE CAR, ACCELERATED AND THE CAR STALLED AS I WAS ENTERING THE FREEWAY. I HAD TO PULL OVER TO A SIDE PARKING LOT AND CALL ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO HORNE KIA. THE SERVICE ATTENDANT CALLED AND EXPLAINED THE THE HIGH PERFORMANCE FUEL PUMP WAS NOT MOVING FUEL INTO THE MOTOR CAUSING THE STALLING. I ASKED IF THIS WAS CONNECTED TO THE THE OTHER STALLING ISSUE AND HE SAID, NO, NOT AT ALL. I FEEL THAT THERE IS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN AND I WOULD LIKE THIS TO BE LOOKED INTO AS A POSSIBLE RECALL ISSUE. I'M CONSISTENTLY HAVING A STALLING ISSUE. THE ON BOARD CAR DIAGNOSTICS IS NOT DETECTING AN ISSUE. THIS IS A 2016 KIA SORENTO WITH 30K MILES.
WHEN DRIVING CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AN MY VEHICLE WILL JUST STOP OR GO INTO AN IDLE MODE. THEN MY VEHICLE WILL NOT ACCELERATE. WE WERE ON A 65 MILE AN HOUR HWY AND MY FAMILY COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED IT WAS VERY SCARY. CALLED KIA DEALERSHIP AN THEY COULD CARE LESS.
ROUGH IDLE/ PISTON SLAP ON START UP. DEALER STATED DRIVE TILL IT FAILS NOW THE CAR WILL RANDOMLY STOP(HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES AT RANDOM IT SEEMS) EVERYTHING OFF WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAYS OR CITY STREETS, DOESN'T MATTER.
MULTIPLE TIMES I WILL BE DRIVING ALONG, AND AT EITHER A SLOW SPEED OR STOPPED AT A LIGHT, THE CAR WILL JUST SHUT OFF. THIS IS NOT SAFE! ALSO 2 TIMES THE EXTERIOR LIGHTS HAVE NOT COME ON IN THE DARK EVEN IF YOU TURN THEM ON YOURSELF NOTHING COMES ON AND ITS BEEN DARK DRIVING WHEN THAT'S HAPPENED! I'M WORRIED FOR THE SAFETY OF MYSELF AND CHILDREN IN THIS CAR, AND THE DEALERSHIP AND SERVICE DEPT DO NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. BUT IN LOOKING ONLINE A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE THIS COMPLAINT AS WELL! IF THIS HAPPENED TO ME AT A HIGH SPEED OR DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE THAT COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT AND INJUR PEOPLE! PLEASE HELP!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2016 KIA SORENTO. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY AN ONCOMING MOTORIST THAT THE VEHICLE WAS ON FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY ONE OF THE FIREFIGHTERS THAT THE FIRE ORIGINATED AT THE FUEL LINE BY THE FIREWALL. A FIRE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOWING FACILITY. KENDALL KIA OF NAMPA (LOCATED AT 15700 N IDAHO CENTER BLVD, NAMPA, ID 83687, (208) 467-7000) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 67,000. *JS
I WAS DRIVING ON A MAJOR INTERSTATE IN GA (I-75 SOUTHBOUND). TRAFFIC CAME TO A STOP; I WAS AT A COMPLETE STOP WHEN I WAS REAR ENDED AT 70MPH BY A 3500 DODGE RAM. I WAS PUSHED INTO THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME WHICH CAUSED MAJOR DAMAGE TO THE FRONT AND REAR OF MY VEHICLE. MY DRIVER'S SEAT BROKE, NOT A SINGLE AIR BAG DEPLOYED AND MY SEAT BELT DID NOT LOCK. THIS CAUSED MY FACE TO HIT THE STEERING WHEEL WHICH BROKE MY JAW IN TWO PLACES, DISLODGED TEETH AND CAUSED ME TO TEMPORARILY BLACK OUT. MY JAW REQUIRED EMERGENCY SURGERY AND I NOW HAVE A PLATE AND FOUR SCREWS IN MY JAW FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE - I'M 25 YEARS OLD. I WAS DRIVING AROUND 30 MPH ON A LOCAL SIDE STREET AND THE CAR SHUT OFF WITH NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ON THE DASHBOARD. THE DASHBOARD WENT BLACK AND THE CAR STOPPED RUNNING. I HAD TO PULL THE CAR OVER, PUT IT IN PARK, TURN THE KEY TO THE OFF POSITION. I WAITED A FEW SECONDS AND STARTED THE CAR AGAIN AND DROVE IT HOME (~1 MILE FROM HOME). I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AS I DID NOT FEEL IT WAS SAFE TO DRIVE IT THERE.

THE CONTACT DROVE TO HER DESTINATION USING THE HI-BEAM HEADLIGHTS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BEV SMITH KIA STUART (3131 SE FEDERAL HWY, STUART, FL 34994) AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE LOW-BEAM BULBS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,014.
My check engine light came on back in 2018 or 19 I have since been going to the Kia dealership with this issue making multiple attempts to resolve. I have had them replace oxygen sensors flushed fuel induction system and other things that they recommended. This did not resolve the issue at one point back in 2019 Kia had my vehicle for over 45 days almost 60 days to return it to me without knowing what the issue is and making recommendations to replace very expensive parts. I have since taken the vehicle back for regular repairs and services. No I have come to the place where my vehicle is in need of an engine as a result of this ongoing issue that seems to be an issue with the same make and model for other individuals. A check engine light fuel issues and now a shot engine
WHEN THE IGNITION IS STARTED WITH THE CAR IN PARK, THE VEHICLE VIBRATES REALLY HARD AS IF IT WANTS TO CUT OFF. THIS HAS OCCURRED WITH 3/4 TANK OF GAS AND 1/4 TANK OF GAS. WITH THE VEHICLE VIBRATING, THE CAR IS PLACED IN "D" DRIVE AND THE FOOT IS APPLIED TO THE ACCELERATOR FOR ACCELERATION BUT THE VEHICLE DOES NOT MOVE. THE VEHICLE IS THEN PLACED BACK INTO "P" PARK AND THE VEHICLE CONTINUES TO VIBRATE UNTIL IT SHUTS OFF. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN REPORT TO DEAN MCCRARY KIA IN MOBILE, AL ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AND I WAS TOLD IF THE VEHICLE DOES NOT HAVE A CODE WHEN IT IS BROUGHT INTO SERVICE THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. I DID EXPLAIN THAT WHEN THE ISSUE OCCURS IT ONLY LAST FOR A FEW MINUTES THEN THE VEHICLE RUNS OK UNTIL THE ISSUE OCCURS AGAIN.
I AM WRITING TO YOU IN REGARDS TO MY 2016 SORENTO ENGINE FAILURE BACK IN JUNE OF 2018. THE ENGINE FAILED WITHOUT WARNING ON THE HIGHWAY AND HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE NEARBY DEALERSHIP. I WAS DENIED ENGINE REPLACEMENT UNDER THE WARRANTY BECAUSE I WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE OIL SERVICE RECORDS. I WAS BILLED IN THE AMOUNT OF $3800 AND IN LIGHT OF THE ONSLAUGHT OF KIA ENGINE FAILURES, I ASK THAT KIA REFUND ME IN FULL. I HAVE REQUESTED THIS VIA LETTER.
WAS TRAVELING ON THE INTERSTATE AT AROUND 60MPH WHEN A LARGE DEER RAN OUT ACROSS THE ROAD. I ATTEMPTED TO SWERVE AND AVOID HITTING THE ANIMAL BUT WAS NOT SUCCESSFUL. I HIT THE DEER AROUND 55-60 MPH WITH A DIRECT IMPACT TO THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THERE WAS EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO THE FENDER, HOOD, GRILL, RADIATOR AND ACCORDING TO THE INSURANCE CLAIM ADJUSTOR, THE ENGINE WAS SHIFTED BACK INTO THE FIREWALL. DURING THIS IMPACT THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY WHICH CREATES A SAFETY CONCERN FOR ME. I SPOKE WITH KIA AND THEIR FINDINGS WERE THAT THE MASS WAS NOT LARGE ENOUGH TO TRIGGER THE AIRBAGS THAT I NEEDED TO EITHER HAVE DIRECT IMPACT WITH ANOTHER CAR OR A WALL OF SOME SORT. I FEEL THAT AN IMPACT AT THAT SPEED AND TO THE FRONT END OF A VEHICLE THE AIRBAGS SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED. I HAVE THE DOCUMENT THAT KIA SENT IF NEEDED.

IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE OIL CONSUMPTION WAS NORMAL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND CONFIRMED THE DEALER'S FINDINGS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 40,000.
DRIVING HOME LATE EVENING FEBRUARY 2018. ENGINE QUIT RUNNING HAD SEIZED UP. HAD OWNED FOR ONLY 7000 MILES. DEALERSHIP( MISSOULA BILLION KIA) HAS HAD THE CAR SINCE JUNE 8, 2018, FOR REPAIRS. THEY NOW SAY NO REPLACEMENT ENGINE UNTIL SEPTEMBER AT THE EARLIEST.
the Paint is starting to peel at top of windshield. I have the Snow White Pearl paint (SWP). At first it seemed like a simple spot (from small pebble) then continued to peel as if it were not properly painted at all.
WHEN STARTING UP CAR, VEHICLE SHAKES VIOLENTLY FROM ENGINE, AND THEN DIES. THIS IS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM, AND BECAUSE KIA TECHNICIANS CANNOT FIND A PROBLEM, AND CANNOT REPLICATE IT - THEY ARE BRUSHING THE PROBLEM OFF. THEIR TECHLINE IS USELESS. I ESCALATED THE CASE TO THE CUSTOMER RELATIONS LINE THEY TOLD ME THEY CANNOT DO ANYTHING UNLESS THEY CAN REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THEY EVEN SUGGESTED THAT I USE MY PHONE TO RECORD EACH TIME I START UP THE CAR SO I CAN SEND THEM THE VIDEO. AND THEN THEY WERE NICE ENOUGH TO TELL ME THAT I NEED TO PICK UP MY VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY AS IT HAD NO PROBLEM. THIS WAS NOT ACCEPTABLE, SO I ATTEMPTED TO CONTACT CORPORATE WHERE A REPRESENTATIVE CALLED ME ONCE, LEFT HER NUMBER AND I RETURNED HER CALLS ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS AND SHE HAS NEVER CALLED ME BACK.
WHILE MERGING ON TO A HIGHWAY, THE VEHICLE LOST PROPULSION, WHEN GAS PEDAL WAS PRESSED VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESPOND AND ACCELERATE. THIS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING ON A BUSY HIGHWAY OUTSIDE OF BOSTON AND MY WIFE NARROWLY AVOIDED A SIGNIFICANT CRASH WITH MULTIPLE VEHICLES DUE TO THE QUICK ACTIONS OF OTHER DRIVERS. WHEN VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT TO DEALERSHIP THE ISSUE IS NOT ON A PUBLIC LIST OF RECALLS BUT RATHER A KNOWN SAFETY ISSUE THAT DOES NOT SHOW ON AN ACTIVE RECALL LIST. WE ARE NEW OWNERS TO THE CAR AND THE DEALERSHIP WE PURCHASED FROM WAS NOT A KIA DEALERSHIP SO ALERTS DID SHOW ON VEHICLE REPORT. I FEEL A KNOWN ISSUE WITH A SAFETY CONCERN THIS SIGNIFICANT SHOULD BE SHOWN ON A RECALL LIST, WE WERE VERY LUCKY MANY PEOPLE WERE NOT INJURED OR WORSE.
MY KIA SORENTO 2016 HATCH DOOR WILL NOT OPEN. I HAVE TO GET IN AND CRAWL OVER TWO ROW TO GET UNLOCK FROM THE INSIDE. SINCE THIS STARTED HAPPENING I HAVE FOUND NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS HAPPING TO OTHER PEOPLE.
STARING IN JANUARY 2017 (PURCHASED MAY 2016) AT AROUND 16K THE CAR STALLED SEVERAL TIMES IN TRAFFIC AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. NO WARNING LIGHT OR ANYTHING. WITHIN A MINUTE THE CAR BEGAN TO WORK AS NORMAL. TOOK IT IN TO KIA IN AVON, IN AND THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO REPLICATE BUT DID A SERVICE RECALL. HAPPENED AGAIN IN MAY 2017 AT 16K. THIS TIME MORE FREQUENTLY TO DUPLICATE. KIA COULD DUPLICATE AND SAID RELEARNED COMPUTER. NOTHING AGAIN UNTIL 19K IN JAN 2019 ON HIGHWAY. CAR BARELY MISSED ME AS I COATED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. KIA COULD NOT DUPLICATE AND ALTHOUGH SAID THEY WOULD ESCALATE FOR BUYBACK, NEVER CONTACTED ME AGAIN. DANGEROUS ISSUE AND WORSE THEY DONT SEEM TO CARE.
NO IMMEDIATE RESPONSE FROM ACCELERATOR PEDAL WHEN PRESSED AT IDLE WITH CAR STATIONARY IN GEAR. PRESSING MORE ON ACCELERATOR TO GET CAR MOVING CAUSES CAR TO THEN ACCELERATE RAPIDLY. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST SIX TIMES IN THE PAST YEAR.
ON MY DRIVE HOME FROM THE CITY, VEHICLE STARTED MAKING A TICKING SOUND. 10 MINUTES AFTER IT STARTED MY CAR WAS SHAKING AND TRUGGING ALONG BARELY. BARELY MADE IT SAFELY INTO A PARKING LOT. AND ONLY PULLED OVER BECAUSE I IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE DEALERSHIP TO FIND OUT WHAT TO DO. LUCKILY, I HAD NONE OF MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR AND WAS NOT IN A BUSY AREA. CAR ONLY HAS 30,000+ MILES ON IT AND WAS TOLD THE ENGINE FAILED. HAD IT IN THE DEALERSHIP 3 WEEKS BEFORE THIS HAPPENED AND THEY CLAIMED EVERYTHING LOOKED GREAT IN THE CAR. KIA IS REFUSING TO REPLACE THE ENGINE.
