AFTER CONTACTING THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS NEEDED FOR THE RECALL REMEDY WERE STILL NOT AVAILABLE AND NO ESTIMATED TIME FOR RECEIVING THE PARTS COULD BE PROVIDED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
"TAKATA RECALL" NOTIFIED ALMOST A YEAR AGO ABOUT RECALL AND ADVISED NOT TO RIDE ANYONE IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. HAS CHECKED WITH THE DEALERSHIP ON 2 OCCASIONS TO CHECK ON GETTING AIRBAG REPLACED. TOLD THAT REPLACEMENTS WERE STILL NOT AVAILABLE. NOW WE ARE BEING TOLD THAT THIS COULD TAKE SEVERAL YEARS TO RESOLVE. HOW LONG ARE WE EXPECTED TO DEAL WITH THIS?
RE MY 2007 LEXUS ES 350 VIN # [XXX] & A NATIONAL RECALL ISSUED. I HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE FOR A YEAR & A HALF, AND DURING THAT TIME, WE EXPERIENCED AN ISSUE WITH THE DASH WHERE IT WAS MELTY, STICKY, &HAD MAJOR ISSUES. RECENTLY, I WAS AN INTERIOR SHOP, HAVING A SEAR REPAIRED, AND THEY MADE ME AWARE OF A RECALL FOR THE DASHBOARDS. I CONTACTED MY LOCAL LEXUS DEALERSHIP, LEXUS OF AUSTIN, IN JUNE 2017, AND THEY TOLD ME THAT I HAD MISSED THE NATIONAL RECALL DEADLINE BY THREE WEEKS AND WERE NO LONGER REPAIRING THOSE. AS I WAS DEFINITELY HAVING AN ISSUE WITH THIS DURING THE WARRANTY RECALL TERM, I AM ASKING THAT THIS BE TAKEN CARE OF UNDER THE RECALL WARRANTY. I CONTACTED LEXUS OF AUSTIN &DISCUSSED THIS, THEY WERE VERY ABRUPT &NOT VERY HELPFUL, & TOLD ME I SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN IT IN EARLIER. WHEN I TOLD HIM I WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THIS EARLIER, HE SAID THAT I HAD NOT HAD MY CAR AT THEIR DEALERSHIP, SO THEY WOULDN'T HAVE KNOWN HOW TO CONTACT ME. I TAKE ISSUE WITH THIS FACT, AS I'VE OWNED SEVERAL OTHER MAKES OF VEHICLES, IN WHICH THERE HAVE BEEN WARRANTY RECALLS, IN WHICH THE VEHICLE MANUFACTURER HAS CONTACTED ME BY MAIL, UTILIZING VEHICLE REGISTRATION INFORMATION, AS THOSE VEHICLES HAD NEVER BEEN AT THEIR DEALERSHIPS EITHER. THE VEHICLE'S DASH IS STICKY &MELTING, &HAS DEVELOPED A SHEEN TO IT, &WHEN DRIVING IN THE SUNLIGHT, IT PRODUCES A REFLECTION ON THE WINDSHIELD, OBSTRUCTING VIEWS AND DISTRACTING THE DRIVER?S EYE. THIS IS NOT JUST A COSMETIC ISSUE, BUT A SAFETY ISSUE. LEXUS IS HELD IN THE HIGHEST ESTEEM IN THE AUTOMOTIVE COMMUNITY, & I'VE HEARD NOTHING BUT GOOD THINGS - BUT THAT HAS NOT BEEN MY EXPERIENCE. TAKATA RECALL--REMEDY IS STILL NOT AVAILABLE FOR MY 2007 ES350 LEXUS
I RECEIVED A NOTICE OF THIS RECALL AND AM CONCERNED THAT IT IS NOW DECEMBER 2016 AND THE DEALER STILL DOES NOT HAVE THE REPLACEMENT FOR THE RECALL. THIS IS VERY UPSETTING. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHEN THIS WILL BE TAKEN CARE OF.
EXPERIENCED THREE INSTANCES OF UNINTENDED ACCELERATION. THE THIRD INSTANCE OF UNINTENDED ACCELERATION WAS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND BRAKES WOULD NOT STOP THE ACCELERATION AND FORWARD MOMENTUM. HAD TO PUT THE CAR INTO NEUTRAL TO STOP THE FORWARD MOVEMENT WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKES. IT STILL TOOK APPROXIMATELY 10 SECONDS FOR THE THROTTLE ACCELERATION AND SPINNING TIRES TO STOP. FLOOR MATS WERE ORIGINAL LEXUS INSTALLED CARPET MATS AND CHECKED TO SEE THEY WERE PROPERLY INSTALLED, AND THEY WERE. AFTER THE FIRST INSTANCE OF THE UNINTENDED ACCELERATION, I WAS DILIGENT IN ENSURING MY FOOT WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BRAKE PEDAL AND NOT INADVERTENTLY ON THE ACCELERATOR. THE FACT THAT IT OCCURRED TWO MORE TIMES, WITH THE LAST INSTANCE BEING QUITE SEVERE WHILE I PROPERLY APPLIED THE BRAKES POINT TO A PROBLEM WITH THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL SYSTEM. REPORTED THE INCIDENT TO LEXUS AND ALLEGEDLY THEY WILL INVESTIGATE. I NEVER RECEIVED ANY RECALLS ON THIS VEHICLE FROM LEXUS AND HAD THE VEHICLE SERVICED EVERY 5K MILES AND THE DEALERSHIP NEVER MENTIONED NOR TOOK ACTION ON THE RECALL SPECIFIED IN NHTSA CASE NUMBER 09V388000.
TAKATA RECALL, THIS HAS BEEN SINCE MAY 2016, THREE MONTHS HAS PASSED. IM TOLD BY LEXUS I CANT HAVE A PASSENGER IN THE FRONT SEAT. FOR THREE MONTHS MY FAMILY HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO UTILIZE THIS CAR . THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE.

TAKATA RECALL; THIS RECALL WAS MADE MAY 23, 2016. TODAY IS SEPTEMBER 2, 2016. I LIVE ON THE GULF COAST OF TEXAS WHERE THE TEMPERATURE OFTEN EXCEEDS 95 DEGREES AND HUMIDITY IS EXTREMELY HIGH. THE MANUFACTURE "STILL DOES NOT HAVE A REMEDY FOR THIS DEFECT". IN THE EVENT OF AN INFLATOR RUPTURE, METAL FRAGMENTS COULD PASS THROUGH THE AIRBAG CUSHION MATERIAL, STRIKING THE VEHICLE OCCUPANTS, AND RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. THE MANUFACTURER SUGGESTS THAT PASSENGERS SHOULD NOT RIDE IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT OF THE VEHICLE!! THIS IS A RIDICULOUS STATEMENT, AND MAKES THE VEHICLE UNUSABLE FOR THE PURPOSE FOR WHICH IT WAS PURCHASED. NHTSB SHOULD DEMAND THAT LEXUS PROVIDE AN IMMEDIATE REMEDY TO THIS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION OR THEY SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE ME WITH AN ALTERNATIVE VEHICLE AT THEIR EXPENSE UNTIL THEY REMEDY THE DEFECT IN MY VEHICLE. TO SUGGEST MY VEHICLE SHOULD NOT BE USED FOR THE PURPOSE OF CARRYING PASSENGERS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. THEY HAVE KNOWN ABOUT THESE AIRBAG DEFECTS FOR SEVERAL YEARS, AND STILL DO NOT HAVE REMEDIES. LEXUS SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE ME WITH A SAFE AND SERVICEABLE VEHICLE NOW OR REFUND ME THE PURCHASE PRICE OF MY VEHICLE SO I CAN OBTAIN A SAFE VEHICLE FOR MY PASSENGERS AND MYSELF. TAKATA RECALL - I AM BEING TOLD THAT IT WILL BE THE FIRST QTR OF 2017 BEFORE THEY EXPECT TO HAVE REPLACEMENT PARTS. THAT IS ALMOST A YEAR SINCE THE NOTICE. WE CANNOT USE THIS CAR WITH MORE THAN THE DRIVER ON BOARD. THIS IS AN UNACCEPTABLE DELAY IN GETTING PARTS. HONDA HAD IT DONE IN A MONTH. WE WOULD PREFER NOT TO BE GIVEN A RENTAL CAR.

NOTIFICATION FROM LEXUS MAY 23, 2061 OF DEFECTIVE AIRBAG. NO REMEDY AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME 6 MONTHS, 12 DAYS LATER. CAN'T TRANSPORT PASSENGER IN FRONT SEAT AND CAN'T SELL OR TRADE IN VEHICLE.
TAKATA RECALL THE RECALL NOTICE WAS ISSUED IN MAY OF 2016. SEVEN MONTHS LATER, I AM UNABLE TO USE MY VEHICLE FOR MY BUSINESS, UNABLE TO USE THE CAR FOR FAMILY OUTINGS, AND UNABLE TO USE THE CAR FOR ANYTHING ELSE BUT PERSONAL COMMUTING. MORE IMPORTANTLY, THE LACK OF A TIMELY REMEDY HAS RENDERED THE VEHICLE UNSELLABLE. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE. WE HAVE RECEIVED NO HELP FROM THE LOCAL DEALER AND LEXUS HAS NOT OFFERED TO PROVIDE A LOANER VEHICLE WITH INSURANCE ON THE VEHICLE.

TAKATA RECALL: NHTSA RECALL NO 16V-340. WE WERE NOTIFIED OF AN ISSUE WITH THE PASSENGER AIR BAG ON OUR 2007 ES 350 IN MAY 2016. RECALL LETTER INDICATED THAT CAR SHOULD NOT BE DRIVEN WITH ANYONE OCCUPYING THE PASSENGER SEAT UNTIL AIR BAG. IS REPLACED. ITS HAS BEEN 10 MONTHS SINCE RECEIVING THIS NOTICE AND A REPLACEMENT AIR BAG IS STILL NOT AVAILABLE. THIS AMOUNT OF TIME TO FIX THE PROBLEM IS NOT REASONABLE AND WE SHOULD BE COMPENSATED. NOT SURE I WOULD EVEN BE ABLE TO SELL THE VEHICLE WITH THIS ISSUE NOT RESOLVED. ANGRY OWNER.
