Lexus of Sarasota Fl confirmed a Faulty brake actuators causing brake , skid control and ABS light to come on which created an immediate and extremely dangerous driving situation as I was on an interstate highway driving at 70 mph. It’s been confirmed that multiply Lexus models and years have had numerous brake actuator . Multiple failures have been documented yet ONLY a few were given recall status!!This is outrageous and an immediate review of this oversight needs to be addressed
The contact owns a 2013 Lexus ES 300H. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle jerked abnormally. The service ABS, Brakes, and hazard warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed; however, no cause for the failure was determined. An appointment with the dealer was scheduled to inspect the vehicle. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.
NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID: 15V728000, Report Date: 11/3/ 2015, Vehicles Affected: 30,812 Consequence: A vehicle that unexpectedly brakes increases the risk of a crash. What To Do: Remedy parts for a permanent fix for this issue are not yet available. On 11/18, 2015, Toyota sent owners an interim notification and dealers will temporarily disable the PCS. When the improved PCS components are available for the permanent remedy, owners will be mailed a notification. These repairs will be performed free. Owners may contact Toyota 888-270-9371. Summary: Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing is recalling certain model year and 2013-2015 Lexus ES350 vehicles manufactured 6/18/2012 to 7/6/2015. The affected vehicles are equipped with Pre-Collision System (PCS) as optional. In these vehicles, the PCS may unexpectedly activate and apply brakes when the radar detects a steel joint or plate in the roadway as an object. As a dominos delivery driver, I am constantly braking in neighborhoods, on main roads, highways, parking lots, you name it. It’s important for me as a safe driver to be able to rely on my vehicle to perform properly. Recently, I’ve had multiple failures to stop as the code “c1391” has come up and has intermittently shut off proper control of my braking system. Upon reading of the faulty brake system causing this code and my vehicle listed (2013 Lexus es300h) as part of the list of vehicles affected, I knew I needed to write in as well to have my car fixed of this problem that is endangering myself and others on the road.
Lexus recall 2010-2015 models because pain is peaking. My car is a 2913 es 350 and the paint is pealing but Lexus do not want to fix it. It is the same problem as the recall Lexus because paint is peaking. What can I do or what can you do
Brakes malfunctioned almost resulted in a life threatening car accident. Car is at the Lexus dealership for repair. The have confirmed problem. Yes there were warning lights moments before needing the brakes and it not working whn pushed.
While driving on the highway electronic brake boost suddenly failed, leading to brake malfunction. This is common malfunction of this model. This leads to potentially hazardous situation when in emergency or even regular traffic breaking car would not break as expected.
2013 Lexus Es300h driving on [XXX] , I felt the brake didn't work during the street. It's hard to push the brake, and I almost hit the car in front. OMG, I was very scared. I saw an ABS brake light, and I tried to turn into a parking lot and find the nearest Pepboys in Birmingham, Alabama to inspect the system. I was informed of a problem with the Brake Booster Assembly. I’m sorry I can’t afford to pay the labor, service and parts at this time. Roughly 6-12 months ago the dashboard on my Lexus started to melt and become sticky, creating a glare on my windshield and impeding my ability to see the road causing dangerous situations. Both daytime and nighttime driving have been affected by this defect. I’ve contacted the local dealership, but they confirmed that no recalls are available and that the only solution is for me to replace the entire dash.
I was driving down the highway coming up on a traffic jam put on the brakes and several warning. Lights came on the dash and my power brakes failed. I was barely able to stop the car without hitting someone. From that point forward the brakes did not work properly, the regenerative braking system did not function. also, the cruise control stopped functioning. I took the car to the Lexus dealer, they tested the car and stated it need a new brake booster brake assembly and that there was a safety warranty issue that was extended out 10 years and up to 150,000 miles and although my car only had 79,000 miles on it was three months past the warranty date and the refused. They reset the car brakes apparently and I was able to drive the car for several days while I spoke with Lexus, and then the car brakes failed again.
On my 2013 Lexus ES 350, three out of the four doors do not function properly and will not lock or lock with the key fob. my driver’s side front door, my driver’s side rear door, and my passenger’s side front door does not work. The doors also will not lock or unlock with the interior lock/unlock button. When the all the doors are locked, I must go to the passenger’s rear door to unlock the driver’s side front door with my cane. The manual door lock from the key fob does not work and will break if I continue turning it. The door locks will not automatically lock when the car goes in motion. These are safety issues trying to get a child or pet out of the car in case of an emergency such as a fire, an accident, or robbery. The power locks are extremely helpful for me. I am a combat disabled veteran who runs the risk of reinjuring myself using the only door that works attempting to open the door with my cane. I have had some of these power locks replaced before. Lexus says this is a mechanical issue associated with the actuators rather than a safety issue. I really believe this is a serious safety and security issue rather than a mechanical issue.
Hood latch and cable malfunction in that the hood wouldn't close and warning light and buzzer continuously beeped. Woburn Toyota in Woburn, MA said it was due to overuse and not a defect and not a safety issue! Not so. Hood not opened more than other vehicles I have had without such a problem. Other Lexus owners have posted similar complaints, too.
I entered the VIN and found that my car airbag was an unrepaired recall.
The moonroof suddenly shattered (it sounded like an explosion) while I was driving on the freeway in 70 degree weather. Initially I had no idea what it was but realized subsequently that I was shedding glass shards behind me. There were no overpasses where someone could have dropped something, I did not see a rock or other projectile, and - when I parked the car - I found nothing that from outside seemed to have struck it and/or stayed behind in the cavity.
The contact owns a 2013 Lexus ES350. The contact stated that while driving at 45 MPH, the contact heard a loud gunshot like sound and the sunroof shattered into pieces. The contact stated that small fragments of glass fell all over him due to the failure however, he was not injured. The contact pulled over, cleaned out his vehicle and was able to drive the vehicle home. The contact called the dealer where he was informed that there were no recalls on his vehicle. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was 135,394.
The automatic door locks have stopped working. I have had to replace 3 out of the 4 door lock actuators in the car. When they go out I am unable to use the door lock sensors and have to manually lock my doors. It also affects my ability to use the key fob remote to lock and unlock my door. I replaced 2 in 2018 and 1 in 2021

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 LEXUS ES350. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO CLOSE TO THE SUN ROOF, THERE WAS A LOUD EXPLOSION COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT BECAME AWARE THAT THE SUN ROOF GLASS HAD SHATTERED. THE CONTACT CONTACTED CHATHAM PARKWAY LEXUS (1120 CHATHAM PKWY, SAVANNAH, GA 31405, (912) 330-6051) AND INFORMED THE DEALER OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 64,000.
THE PCS (PRE COLLISION SYSTEM) WARNING ICON FLASHED IN THE DISPLAY INDICATING THAT THE PCS WAS TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN ON A HIGHWAY. PULLED OVER TO LOOK IN THE OWNERS MANUAL ONLY TO FIND THAT THE MANUAL TOLD ME TO STOP. WE PROCEEDED TO RETURN HOME WITHOUT EXPERIENCING ANY ADVERSE HANDLING. I REALLY DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING THE CAR NOT KNOWING IF THE PCS SYSTEM WILL FAIL.
THE LEXUS ES 350, WAS TURNING LEFT ONTO SIDE STREET WITHIN A SUB DIVISION, AND RAN UP THE CURB AND HIT A TREE WITH THE RIGHT FRONT SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE DONE TO THE CAR, AND SO MUCH DAMAGED THAT THE CAR HAS BEEN TOTALED BY INSURANCE COMPANY. DRIVER UNSURE IF VEHICLE ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN OR JUST LOST CONTROL. THE GREATER ISSUE OR CONCERN WAS NOT WHAT CAUSED THE ACCIDENT, BUT THAT THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AFTER THE IMPACT AND THE DRIVER BROKE THEIR NOSE AND HAS BEEN TREATED 3 TIMES IN ER SINCE CRASH. IN SPEAKING WITH REPAIR SHOP, THEY INFORMED ME THAT THERE ARE 2 AIR BAG SENSORS AT THE FRONT OF THE CAR, AND BOTH ARE NEAR THE HEADLIGHTS. HE WAS SURPRISED THAT GIVEN THE DAMAGE AND IMPACT OF THE COLLISION (TO RIGHT FRONT OF CAR BY HEADLIGHT, PICTURES ATTACHED), THAT THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 LEXUS ES350. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, AN EXPLOSION LIKE SOUND WAS HEARD. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND DISCOVERED THAT THE SUN ROOF HAD SHATTERED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000.
DOOR LOCKS DO NOT LOCK VIA KEY FOB ON 3 DOORS. LEXUS WANTS $800 PER DOOR TO FIX. HAVE MANUALLY LOCKED CAR FOR ONE YEAR; NOW CANNOT MANUALLY LOCK DOOR AS THE MANUAL LOCK NO LONGER LOCKS. THIS IS SAFETY ISSUE AS CAR REMAINS UNLOCKED AT ALL TIMES.
MY 2013 LEXUS ES 300H HAS GOT A WEAK BRAKES, SOMETIMES WOULD MAKE SQUEAKING NOISE WHEN YOU HOLD THEM AND FEW TIMES WOULDN'T BRAKE WHEN BRAKING ON A BIT ROUGH ROAD. I WAS AFRAID FOR MY SAFETY AND WENT TO LEXUS DEALER TO PERFORM DIAGNOSTIC. THEY SAID THAT MY CAR NEEDS A BRAKE ACTUATOR TO BE REPLACED WHICH IS VERY EXPENSIVE PROCEDURE. HOWEVER, PEOPLE IN A DEALERSHIP ADMITTED THAT IT'S A COMMON PROBLEM FOR THESE CARS AND MY RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET CONFIRMED IT AS WELL. ALSO, LEXUS ISSUED EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR AN ABS FAILURE BUT SOMEHOW YOU ARE QUALIFIED ONLY WHEN YOUR ABS FAIL. THAT'S SOUNDS VERY DANGEROUS AND UNSAFE. I DID MORE RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT IN 2016 IN AUSTRALIA LEXUS HAS RECALLED 2013 AND ABOVE LEXUS ES MODELS BECAUSE OF BRAKE ACTUATOR AND ABS MODULE MALFUNCTION. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY ARE THE SAME MODELS NOT BEING RECALLED IN USA FOR THE SAME VERY COMMON PROBLEM.
RECENTLY ACQUIRED LISTED PRE-OWNED, CERTIFIED VEHICLE. BOUGHT WHEEL AND TIRE COVERAGE. HAND WASHED CAR AFTER 4-DAYS OF OWNERSHIP AND DISCOVERED BROKE WHEEL. DEALER SAYS THE STYLE WHEEL ON THE VEHICLE IS ROUTINELY REPAIRED BY THEM (NOT REPLACED.) DEALER REP (WESLEY PETERS, SEWELL LEXUS, DALLAS) WHEEL IS COMMONLY DAMAGED BY IMPROPER TORQUEING OF LUG NUTS. LEXUS DRIVERS I KNOW DO NOT KNOW THE TORQUE SPECS NOR DO THEY CARRY A TORQUE WRENCH. HAVE A FLAT? GOOD LUCK YOU DO NOT BREAK A WHEEL WHILE CHANGING FLAT! SEWELL LEXUS IS NOW REPAYING THE WHEEL NOT HONORING THE WHEEL AND TIRE COVERAGE AND REPLACING IT! WRITER HAS CONTACTED LEXUS NORTH AMERICA CONCERNING THE PROBLEM. DEALER REP PETERS ALSO STATED THE FIRM ROUTINELY REPAIR ALL STYLES OF LEXUS WHEELS AND WRITER SHOULD NOT BE CONCERNED. COULD THE NHTSA PLEASE LOOK INTO WHY LEXUS WHEELS SHOULD REQUIRE REPAIR BEFORE SOMEONE BOUNCES OF THE HIGHWAY WITH A BROKE WHEEL.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LEXUS OF WINTER PARK (305 N SEMORAN BLVD, WINTER PARK, FL 32792, (407) 678-2000) WHERE A DIAGNOSTIC APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED FOR THE FOLLOWING DAY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 23,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
VEHICLE DOOR LOCKS AREN'T WORKING PROPERLY. ISSUE CAUSES VEHICLE THE ABILITY TO LOCK WITH KEY FOB INSIDE AND DOORS NOT TO LOCK UPON EXITING VEHICLE.
TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL
I WAS DRIVING ON I75 IN LOUISVILLE, KY, GOING APPROX 70-75 MPH WHEN I HEARD WHAT SOUNDED LIKE A GUN SHOT! PANICKED, I LOOKED AROUND IMMEDIATELY BUT THERE WERE NO OTHER CARS CLOSE BY AND NO OVERPASSES. THEN I REALIZED THAT GLASS WAS ALL OVER MY RIGHT ARM, SHOULDER, AND THE CENTER CONSOLE. I LOOKED UP TO SEE THAT MY MOON ROOF WAS SHATTERED. AFTER REALIZING WHAT HAD HAPPENED, I CLOSED THE SHADE SO MORE GLASS DID NOT FALL ON ME AND INSIDE MY CAR. I TOOK AN EXIT AND CALLED MY INSURANCE COMPANY. I TOLD THEM I HAD NO IDEA WHAT HAD HAPPENED, THAT NO ONE WAS AROUND BUT THAT MY MOON ROOF HAD JUST EXPLODED. THEY GAVE ME THE COMPANY TO CONTACT TO GET IT FIXED AND I TOOK IT THERE TO GET IT FIXED THE NEXT DAY. I HAVE PICS OF IT THOUGH. SO SCARY! I STILL DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY MY MOON ROOF WOULD JUST EXPLODE WITHOUT ANY EXTERIOR FORCE BEING EXERTED AND I AM SO AFRAID IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN.
I AM NOT SURE IT IT IS ENGINE OR FUEL BUT MY PROBLEM IS AS FOLLOWS: WHILE DRIVING AND WITH NO WARNING MY 2013 LEXUS ES 350 HESITATES TO THE POINT OF ALMOST STOPPING IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING ON LOCAL AND HIGHWAY ROADS. IT SEEMS TO BE GETTING WORSE AND I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THEY DID NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. IN RESEARCHING THIS PROBLEM I HAVE COME ACROSS TWO SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ON WWW.CARCOMPLAINTS.COM. THIS IS A DANGEROUS ISSUE WHEN YOU LOSE ACCELERATION WHEN IT IS MOST NEEDED.
PASSENGER-SIDE LEG AIRBAG FAILED TO FULLY DEPLOY DURING AN ACCIDENT. IT ALSO EXPLODED AND EXPELLED ACCELERATE. THE DRIVER-SIDE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED PROPERLY. THIS WAS DURING A FRONT-END COLLISION WITH THE SIDE OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. MY CAR WAS PROCEEDINGSTRAIGHT THROUGH AN INTERSECTION ON A PARKWAY-LIKE CITY DRIVE. ..UPDATED 09/26/17 *BF *JS
CPO 2013 ES350 BOUGHT JANUARY 2, 2016 AT LEXUS DEALERSHIP, WHICH HAS BEEN KEPT IN AN IN-DOOR GARAGE, AND IS LIGHTLY DRIVEN. MID-APRIL 2017 BATTERY WAS DEAD, JUMP STARTED BUT THEN BATTERY DIED THE NEXT DAY. I BROUGHT VEHICLE TO ANOTHER LEXUS DEALERSHIP ON MAY 20, 2017. THEY CLAIMED BATTERY NOT WARRANTIED. I DISCOVERED THE ORIGINAL OWNER WHO BOUGHT CAR OCTOBER 2012 HAD REPLACED THE BATTERY IN 2015 WHICH MADE ME CURIOUS AS TO WHY IT WAS REPLACED SO SOON, AND WHY IT DIDN'T LAST VERY LONG. THE SERVICE MANAGER THEN MENTIONED THAT I NEEDED A COMPUTER COMPONENT WHICH HE HOPED WAS UNDER MY WARRANTY AND THEY WOULD CALL ME WHEN THE PART CAME IN. I RESEARCHED THIS PART, AND APPARENTLY LEXUS HAS KNOWN PROBLEMS WITH THIS COMPONENT, WHICH WAS PROBABLY DEFECTIVE CAUSING BATTERY PROBLEMS BY NOT GOING INTO "SLEEP MODE" AND SLOWLY DRAINING AND KILLING BATTERIES. THERE SEEMS TO BE MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS SIMILAR TO MINE ON BLOGS (ONE OF WHICH IS ATTACHED).
I WAS PARKING MY CAR ON A COMMERCIAL COMPLEX. I AM PRESSING ON THE BRAKE AS THE CAR SLOWS DOWN. WHEN I FURTHER PRESSED ON THE BRAKE, THE CAR INSTEAD OF TAKING A COMPLETE STOP, ACCELERATED. IT HIT THE BUILDING IN FRONT OF ME. WHEN TRYING TO BACK UP, IT ACCELERATED AGAIN IN REVERSE. I PRESSED THE BRAKE REALLY HARD THEN IT STOPPED.

I WAS PARKING MY CAR IN FRONT OF A STORE. CAR WAS IN PARKING SPOT, READY TO STOP. ALL OF A SUDDEN, CAR ACCELERATED, JUMPED THE CURB, WENT THRU SIDEWALK INTO THE STORE AHEAD. LUCKILY, STORE WAS VACANT. CAR KEPT GOING THRU THE STORE, CAME OUT FROM THE BACK WALL ONTO THE RAIL GUARDS WHICH FINALLY STOPPED CAR. CAR WAS DAMAGED.
WAS DRIVING IN WEST SACRAMENTO , WHEN THE CHECK ENGINE, CHECK HYBRID SYSTEM ALARMS WENT OFF.WITHIN 1 MINUTE , THE CAR WENT DEAD, NO POWER, NO STEERING. IF I WAS ON AN EXPRESS WAY , IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A GUARANTEED FATALITY FOR ME, MY FAMILY AND OTHER CARS INVOLVED. THE DEALERSHIP , LEXUS OF SACRAMENTO TOLD ME THE COMPUTER FAILED IN THE CAR. THE CAR HAS ONLY 55,000 MILES ON IT. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE QUALITY OF PARTS USED BY LEXUS. *TR
AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AFTER CAR WAS IN A WRECK. FRONT END DEMAGED OF 12,000 IN DAMAGES. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE WAS DIAGNOSED TO BE A RESULT OF WEAR AND TEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 43,000.
ON 1/20/16 I WAS DRIVING BACK TO WORK AROUND 12:30 IN THE AFTERNOON AND I HEARD A LOUD POP. AT THE TIME I THOUGH SOMETHING HAD HIT MY CAR OR WINDSHIELD, ALTHOUGH I HAD NOT SEEN ANYTHING FLY UP AT THE WINDOW. ONCE I ARRIVED AT WORK I GOT OUT OF THE CAR TO CHECK MY WINDOWS AND TO SEE IF THERE WAS ANY DAMAGE TO THE BODY OF THE CAR. I DID NOT SEE ANY. THE FOLLOWING MORNING, TRAVELLING ON THE HIGHWAY ON MY WAY TO WORK I NOTICED A WIND SOUND THROUGHOUT THE CAR. I THOUGHT MAYBE ONE OF MY WINDOWS WAS DOWN. I CHECKED ALL REMAINING WINDOWS AND THEY WERE ALL UP. WHEN I STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT, THE SOUND STOPPED. AT THAT MOMENT I THOUGHT MY SUNROOF SOMEHOW MAY HAVE OPENED BY ACCIDENT. I PULLED THE CLOTH COVER THAT COVERS THE SUNROOF AND NOTICED THE DAMAGE. THE SUNROOF HAD EXPLODED. THE GLASS WAS ALSO POINTED UPWARD. HAD SOMETHING LIKE A ROCK FALLEN ON IT, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN POINTED DOWNWARD AND THERE WAS NO ROCK TO BE FOUND BY THE AUTO BODY SHOP THAT WILL BE FIXING MY VEHICLE. THE AUTO BODY SHOP HAD SEE IT BEFORE AND TOLD ME TO CONTACT YOU AND THE LEXUS DEALERSHIP DIRECTLY. I ALSO HAVE FOUND NUMEROUS ARTICLES ON LINE ABOUT THIS.
FUEL PUMP DOES NOT TURN OFF INTERMITTENTLY AFTER IGNITION IS TURNED OFF. ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, PARKED IN THE GARAGE, IGNITION OFF. UPON GOING BACK INTO GARAGE I NOTICE A LOAD HUMMING NOISE COMING FROM THE UNDERSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. AFTER HITTING THE LOCK BUTTON ON THE KEY PHOB THE SOUND STOPPED. THE ISSUE IS GETTING WORSE. ON 12/72015 AFTER ENERGIZING THE LOCK / UNLOCK FUNCTION ON THE KEY PHOB THE FUEL PUMP DID NOT TURN OFF AS IT DID IN THE PAST. I HAD TO START THE VEHICLE AND TURN IT OFF TO STOP THE FUEL PUMP FROM CONSTANTLY RUNNING. SINCE THIS VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES DRAINING DOWN THE BATTERY ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. AT FIRST WE THOUGHT THAT MAYBE WE LEFT AN ACCESSORY ON BUT AFTER CAREFUL EXAMINATION THERE IS NO QUESTION THAT THE FUEL PUMP CONTINUES TO RUN INTERMITTENTLY AFTER THE VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF. PLEASE NOTE THAT I AM A MECHANIC AND DO HAVE A VAST KNOWLEDGE OF TODAY'S VEHICLE TECHNOLOGIES SYSTEMS. THIS IS CLEARLY A SAFETY ISSUE SHOULD THE FUEL PUMP CONTINUE TO RUN IN AN ACCIDENT OR AN ISSUE OCCURS WITH AN UNATTENDED VEHICLE AND THE FUEL PUMP CONTINUES TO RUN. I HAVE A VIDEO WITH SOUND DOCUMENTING MY LAST EXPERIENCE BUT THE FILE IS TO LARGE GOT UPLOAD.
THIS IS THE SECOND TIME IN TWO YEARS THE BATTERY HAS DIED ON THIS CAR. THE FIRST TIME WAS AUGUST 2014, JUST ONE MONTH PAST THE CAR ONE YEAR MARK. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A 3-POINT TURN, I FIRST BACKED OUT OF A DRIVEWAY ONTO THE ROAD, PAUSED TO CHECK FOR TRAFFIC, SHIFTED FROM REVERSE INTO DRIVE AND PULLED FORWARD AND .STARTED TO TURN TO MY LEFT. AS I DID I EXPERIENCED A LOSS OF STEERING AND BRAKES AND THE DASHBOARD INDICATOR LIGHTS ALL LIT AT ONCE. MY CAR DRIFTED ACROSS THE CENTER LINE AND I WAS UNABLE TO STOP IT FROM ROLLING TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROAD WHERE IT ENDED UP PERPENDICULAR TO ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND ONLY STOPPED WHEN IT HIT AN EMBANKMENT. MY CAR SUSTAINED FRONT BUMPER AND GRILLE DAMAGE.
WE PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE AS A CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED IN LATE JUNE 2015. THE WINDSHIELD HAS A DISTORTION THAT IS EXACERBATED AT NIGHT. HEADLIGHTS AND REAR TAIL LAMPS APPEAR IN TRIPLE ON VEHICLES. ON DARK/DIM LIT ROADS, THE ONCOMING TRAFFIC'S HEADLIGHTS APPEARS IN VERTICAL MULTIPLES AND IS A SAFETY HAZARD BORDERING ON BEING A FATAL INCIDENT. TWO OTHER SIMILAR COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN FILED WITH NHTSA UNDER THE ES300 CATEGORY. THIS APPEARS TO BE A LAMINATION PROBLEM AND A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT. LEXUS DENIES SEEING THE PROBLEM. YET, EVERY PASSENGER TO RIDE IN MY VEHICLE NOTICES THE PROBLEM WITHOUT ME SAYING ANYTHING. THE SERVICE STAFF AT JOHNSON LEXUS, RALEIGH, NC, DENIES SEEING THE MULTIPLE IMAGES. THE VEHICLE IS UNDER A BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY AND LEXUS HAS FAILED TO HONOR THE WARRANTY. THE DISTORTION IS VISIBLE WHETHER THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY OR MOVING.
I BOUGHT PRE-OWNED 2013 LEXUS ES300H CAR IN MOTH OF APRIL AND STARTED HAVING SEVER BACK PAIN, I CONTACTED LEXUS CUSTOMER SERVICE WITH FACT THAT SOMETHING WRONG WITH SEAT, PLEASE HELP ME AS I AM HAVING SEVER BACK PAIN EVERY SINGLE TIME I USE THE CAR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000.
VEHICLE HAS THE "HESITATION ON ACCELERATING" OR "THROTTLE LAG" PROBLEM WHICH IS DOCUMENTED ON MANY MODELS OF BOTH TOYOTA AND LEXUS VEHICLES. VEHICLE HESITATES WHEN ACCELERATING FROM STOP LIGHT, SLOWING TO MAKE A TURN, OR IN TRAFFIC WHEN SLOWING AND THEN ACCELERATING. IT IS UNRESPONSIVE FOR 1-2 SECONDS THEN ACCELERATES FAST. THIS IS ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS WHEN CROSSING A BUSY UNCONTROLLED INTERSECTION. OCCURS ROUTINELY WHEN DRIVING EVERYDAY. THIS HESITATION IS DANGEROUS,NOT NORMAL, AND IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS ADDRESSING BY THE MANUFACTURER.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TRAVELING ON EVEN ROAD SURFACES AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, A LOUD NOISE EMITTED FROM THE OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT MANEUVERED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND NOTICED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE EXPLODED AND THERE WAS A THREE INCH HOLE IN THE SIDEWALL. THE TIRE WAS REPLACED WITH A SPARE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE TIRE WAS REPLACED. THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO LOW TIRE PRESSURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 23,000. THE DOT WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

IT WAS A SUNNY SATURDAY MORNING. AT APPROXIMATELY 9:30 AM, MY WIFE WAS DRIVING ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET AT ABOUT 35 MPH., LESS THAN ONE (1) MILE FROM HOME. SUDDENLY, THE CAR JOLTED AND RAPIDLY BEGAN TO ACCELERATE. IT KEPT INCREASING SPEED. SHE THAN HIT THE BRAKES. THE CAR WOULDN'T STOP AND CONTINUED TO INCREASE SPEED. THE CAR SPEED EXCEEDED 70 MPH. FORTUNATELY, THERE WERE NO PARKED CARS OR PEDESTRIANS. SHE THEN MOVED THE GEAR SHIFT UP INTO PARK. THE CAR STILL WOULDN'T STOP. SHE WAS APPROACHING THE INTERSECTION OF THE SERVICE ROAD TO THE LONG ISLAND EXPRESSWAY. SHE CONTINUED TO HOLD HER FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, BUT THE CAR CONTINUED TO SPEED. FORTUNATELY, THERE WERE NO ONCOMING VEHICLES. DESPERATELY, SHE PULLED THE GEAR SHIFT DOWN, SHE WASN'T SURE IF IT WAS IN NEUTRAL OR DRIVE, AND THE CAR FINALLY STOPPED. IT STOPPED ONE HALF BLOCK BEFORE THE SERVICE ROAD, WHERE SHE SURELY WOULD HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. WHEN I VISITED THE SCENE, THERE WERE TIRE SKID MARKS ALONG THE STREET.
I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE BRAND NEW FROM SEWELL LEXUS IN FT. WORTH TEXAS IN SEPTEMBER 2013. SHORTLY THERE AFTER IN LATE OCTOBER, I WENT TO START MY VEHICLE WHICH IS PARKED IN MY GARAGE. THE CAR WOULD NOT START, DEAD BATTERY. I JUMP STARTED IT AND IT STARTED RIGHT AWAY. THIS HAS HAPPENED SIX TOTAL TIMES IN THE PAST YEAR. THIS MAINLY HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR SITS FOR MORE THAN 2-3 DAYS IN MY GARAGE. I HAVE NEVER LET THE CAR SIT MORE THAN 5 DAYS, BUT WHEN I DO LET IT SIT FOR 3-5 DAYS, THE BATTERY IS DEAD. CURRENT MILEAGE IS AROUND 4200. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER IN SEP. 2014. DEALER COULD NOT FIND AN ISSUE AND SAID THE BATTERY IS FINE. 2 WEEKS AFTER I LEFT THE DEALER, MY VEHICLE BATTERY DIED AGAIN. DEALER RECOMMENDED A NEW BATTERY. A NEW AFTERMARKET BATTERY (INTERSTATE) WAS PUT IN THE VEHICLE. 2 WEEKS AFTER THE NEW BATTERY WAS INSTALLED, MY CAR WOULD NOT START AGAIN. THE CAR HAS NO AFTERMARKET PARTS, ACCESSORIES, OR REMOTE START. I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE ORIGINAL DEALER AND THEY CANNOT SEEM TO FIND THE PROBLEM. SEWELL LEXUS CONTACTED LEXUS ABOUT THIS, AND LEXUS ADVISED THEM THEY ARE AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM WITH MY MODEL YEAR VEHICLE AND THEY BELIEVE IT IS AN UNKNOWN COMPUTER PART RANDOMLY TURNING ON AND DRAINING THE BATTERY. THEY SAID THIS MAINLY HAPPENS WITH VEHICLES SITTING FOR A FEW DAYS. THEY SAID THEY DO NOT HAVE A CURRENT FIX FOR THE CAR. THE DEALER RECOMMENDED INSTALLING A BATTERY TENDER IN MY CAR. TOO WHICH, I DECLINED AS IT DOES ME NO GOOD TO HAVE THAT INSTALLED IF I AM ON VACATION, PARKED AT THE AIRPORT, ECT. I AM REQUESTING A NEW CAR AS I BELIEVE THIS CAR IS A LEMON AND OR REFUND MY MONEY DUE TO THEY CANNOT FIX MY CAR. I STILL DO NOT HAVE MY CAR AND I AM AWAITING LEXUS TO COMPLETE THEIR INVESTIGATION. *TR
