Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2006 Lexus IS 250. The contact stated that upon selling the vehicle, the new owner later informed the contact that it was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy while the vehicle was undergoing a diagnostic test. The vehicle was a private sale. At the time the contact purchased the vehicle, the mileage was 150,604; however, an Experian Auto Check History Report listed the mileage at over 300,000.
Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2006 Lexus IS 250. It was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a private seller. At the time of purchase, the odometer mileage was 119,000. The contact purchased a Carfax Report, which indicated that the odometer mileage was reported in September 2022 at 144,556, and the vehicle failed inspection. In addition, in October 2018, the odometer was reported at 155,811.
The contact owns a 2006 Lexus IS 250. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormal rattling sound coming from underneath the hood. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with a transmission and radio failure. The local dealer was contacted and informed the contact that the were no recalls associated with the VIN. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 89,000.
The dashboard glares when it is sunny outside and at night when cars are driving past on the other side, this is a huge safety issue as it impairs visibility. The dashboard is also very sticky
Under hot conditions the dashboard and door materials starts to become sticky and it becomes ultra shiny which reflects on the windshield and when the sun is up you can totally loose visibility in front of you, has happened to me a few time when I have to stop because it becomes very dangerous
The vehicle is burning engine oil at an increasingly severe rate, with the manual stating that burning 1.1 quarts every 600 miles is normal. This consumption is excessive given the 5.5-quart capacity and the requirement for expensive full synthetic oil, causing frequent and costly top-offs. This poses a safety risk due to the potential for engine damage or failure if oil levels are not closely monitored. Some owners have had the issue inspected, and Lexus has acknowledged the problem. However, they have stated that repairs require replacing components costing multiple thousands of dollars just for parts, leaving many owners without a feasible solution. This problem is widespread, with numerous reports of similar issues in online forums ( [XXX] ]). A thorough investigation and a more customer-friendly resolution are needed to address this design flaw and ensure reliability and safety. There is a common issue with these makes and models with the drivers side knee air bag having issues with connecting which cause the SRS light go on the dashboard. I called Lexus corporate office and local dealer and they said there was a recall but it expired in 2020. From the research i did, this was a small window and there shouldn’t have been an expiration on the recall for something that is a safety hazard. Because of this, they are charging thousands for this issue that has affected hundreds of thousands of vehicles.
My 2006 Lexus IS350 is subject to NHTSA Recall number 16V340, for passenger airbag replacement. According to the diections on the NHTSA website shown in the following link: [XXX] The dash pad needs to be removed to access the airbag and perform the repair. Ive contacted my 3 local Lexus dealers and was told in various ways that they do not remove the dash to accomplish the repair but instead just remove the glove compartment and associated parts to access the airbag. I wanted the dash replaced (it was cracked) when the old dash was removed to do this recall repair. SInce the dealers do not actually remove the dash, I was told this was not possible. One dealer told me that for an extra $350, the service dept. would do the repair according to the above linked instructions. I have notified Lyndss Tor at lyndzee.tor@toyota.com as well as Toyota Quality Compliance Quality_Compliance@toyota.com and recieved no reply. I hope the NHTSA can enforce the above linked instructions so that the airbag replacement can be conducted in a proper and safe fasion. My dash has cracked and melted due to a manufacturing defect. The Lexus dealers who I have contacted to perform the safety recall for the defective airbags will not replace the cracked dash at the same time. Having the passenger airbag deploy through a cracked dash is an apparent safety issue. Please investigate this
The dashboard is melting a known error to Lexus and when the sun hits it reflects off the melted dash and puts a glare on the windshield. Lexus knew about the problem and instead of doing a recall they did an extended warranty back in 2017. I took mine in and assumed they replaced dash and door panels. Called this year because my dash was melting and they stated all they did was the door panels back in 2017. I have informed my local dealership as well as corporate and neither seem willing to help or fix the issue. There are all kinds of write up online about this issue. It is definitely a safety issue that should have been addressed a while back but wasn’t.
Many people have have issues with the SRS warning light coming on and not going off. This issue seems to stem from harness connection issues that Lexus is aware of and have acknowledged. This needs to be fixed asap!
The contact owned a 2006 Lexus IS350. The contact stated when she started the vehicle, following an oil change vehicle stalled. The contact stated that she had restarted the vehicle and heard an abnormal popping sound from the engine compartment and flames had burst from under the hood. The contact stated that she had smelled the odor of gasoline from her vehicle as she had entered the vehicle. The contact stated that the service station employees extinguished the flames. The contact stated that the fire department was called and a report was filed. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The vehicle had not been repaired. The contact had researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V432000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The failure mileage was approximately 180,000.
This is happening on the lexus is250 as while as the 350 the loose bolts could cause the VVT gear housing and sprocket to separate and result in the engine stopping while the vehicle is being driven, increasing the risk of a crash. Toyota is recalling certain model year 2007-2011 Lexus GS350 vehicles manufactured June 19, 2006, through July 12, 2011; and model year 2006-2011 Lexus IS350 vehicles manufactured May 27, 2005, through July 13, 2011; and model year 2010-2011 Lexus IS350c vehicles manufactured November 25, 2009, through July 19, 2011. These vehicles, equipped with the 2GR-FSE engine, use bolts to secure the housing and sprocket of the Variable-Valve Timing (VVT) system gear assembly. These bolts could become loose due to abnormal impacts generated within the gear assembly immediately after a cold start-up.
My car unfortunately is subject to the sticky/melting dash which is notorious of being a huge problem with my generation of vehicle. That being the 2nd generation of Lexus is250/350/f which affect the models made from 2006-2013. Lexus made a “customer offer” which entitled owners being able to go get it fix, however not all owners were made aware of this due to it not being a full on recall but more of a “promotion” that Lexus was doing. I unfortunately was one of many other owners who were not made aware of the promotion taking place and are now according to Lexus too late to fix the issue because the offer “expired”. My sticky dash in particular is very bad. It reflects off into the windshield making it very difficult to see the road clearly when it is glaring due to the sticky/melting dash. It not only poses a safety hazard for me, but to everyone else on the road due to it not letting me see clearly due to how bad the glare is. I was told by Lexus that there is nothing they can do but to pay out of my pocket (3-4K) in order to have it replaced. Lexus claims to “care” for their customers yet are not owning up to help us owners because there special promotion is expired. Knowing how bad the issue was and how practically all cars were subject to the issue, why not make a recall instead of a “promotion”. They screwed over their customers. They screwed over me. I can’t drive my car without fearing for my safety, all due to Lexus not wanted to fix their error when they made the dashboard incorrectly. I hope something can be done because I know there are many other Lexus is250/350/f owners out there that were unfortunate to not have it fix also. It should be a recall, not some limited “promotion” that only a few knew about. It is a “if you were lucky to know” sort of deal and that should not be the case. Especially not when it starts to affect the safety of others and one self.
was in a car accident and air bigs didnt go off
While I was driving, I went to slow down to turn around and my car started smoking and caught fire. It started from under the hood towards the passenger side front closer to the headlight you could just start seeing flames coming from there so I put it in park and hopped out and got as much stuff as I could out of the car. There was no warning signs no lights came on nothing.
While driving there was no warning lamps messages or other symptoms to any problems. I went to slow down so I could turn around because I missed my stop. The brakes started feeling less pressure I looked up and there was black smoke coming from under the hood then I saw flames. Then the car blew up
After having our car in the local dealerships shop to fix recalls and a Very hard jerking of the car when slowing to 8mph thinking it was the ABS accutator, that unit was replaced and system bled and tested we picked the car up and before we got 100 feet away from the shop our car still had the same problem. After much talking with a lexus forum group I now believe based on their experiences and testing myself it's a Hard 2nd to 1st gear downshift ! and through my investigating, this is a common issue among lexus transmission between years 2006 - 2013
My dashboard is melting due to a manufacturing defect. The glare from my dashboard makes driving difficult as the glare can blind you. The chemical smell from the melting is horrible. I have placed a dash cover on which has helped but if I am in an accident this dash cover will impede the correct deployment of my airbag on the passenger side. Also the inside door panels are melting and are becoming a "putty" like substance. Everything sticks to it. Including my clothes. While driving I have had to jerk my arm from the rest on the door trim to remove it. This can cause my vehicle to possibly swerve off the road or into oncoming traffic. Warranty Enhancement Program – ZLD and CUSTOMER SUPPORT PROGRAM ZLZ were the remedies for this issue. But these have expired. The Manufacturer will not honor this or consider this a safety / hazardous issue and correct it now. This is a safety issue and needs to be addressed.
Camshaft problem. Loud rattle at start up bad ticking. Transmission fluid needs to be changed and serviced at a schedule time. Bad performance all together with only 119,000 miles. I have now rebuilt the motor paying $3000 to fix the cams and now have to repair the transmission
Hello ,I am in Seattle Washington. I’m emailing about my Lexus IS250 2006. A few months ago I took my car to the dealership to get the passenger airbag recall done. Immediately after getting that recall fixed. My airbag light on my vehicle came on. We did not think anything of it, we thought it would come off over time. Time has gone by the light has not gone off. So today we took our vehicle to Lexus of Bellevue. They told us that there was an issue with the driver side airbag harness. Something about tension on it or it Deteriorating. The dealership is now saying that my car is not safe. That none of the safety features airbags or seatbelts will work due to this light being on. They will not be covered because there is no recalls for this harness. I have done much research online this is a common well known issue with Lexus. Now my car is a paperweight. I do not feel safe driving my family or disabled family member in this vehicle. This part is located under the dash and has absolutely nothing to do with how me and my husband maintain or take care of our vehicle. This is Lexuses issue and should be addressed and recalled. Any help in where or how to address this further. Or any help and how to take this higher would be appreciated. At this point is my car totaled? Safe to be on the road? Ok to be insured? They are charging us 200, just to tell us the issue. Not to fix it, didn’t even take the dash apart. How do they know even know what the issue is without taking it apart? To fix this issue it will be a total of over 600. Help!!!
The car is consumed alot of oil. I've been using 5w30 motor oil. 2/6/2022 had my oil changed, 2/8/2022 oil light came on saying low oil level.
A known problem in this year of lexus is250. The knee bag wiring harness was constructed too short (lexus has a tsb regarding this, # L-SB-0007-19). The airbag warning light will often come on and stay on. When the light is on the airbag system is inoperable. Having an inoperable airbag system is a great safety concern. A mechanic at a local shop used the scan tool and identified the airbag code as related to the wiring harness for the knee air bag. This should be a recall since it is a known problem and it renders the vehicle unsafe due to inoperable air bags. If this isn't an unsafe problem justifying a recall I dont know what is. Thank you.
My dash and door panels are sticky and crumbling to pieces. Also, my door handles aren't working on the car. Every time I open the door the handles are stuck on the driver and passenger side. Also, my floor mats are constantly wet and I'm not sure why. I don't want it to get worst and build mold or start to rust.
STICKY DASH AND DOOR PANELS WHEN ITS HOT
RE: LEXUS RECALL FOR STICKY PANELS INSIDE CARS, INCLUDING 2006 IS 250 DEAR NHTSA: ACCORDING TO BEST RECOLLECTION, AS WELL AS INFORMATION PROVIDED BY LEXUS CORPORATE AND GLENDALE, CA LEXUS DEALERSHIP, THE FOLLOWING EVENTS HAVE TRANSPIRED. YEARS AGO, I WAS NOTIFIED TO BRING MY CAR IN FOR STICKY/MELTING DASHBOARD AND SIDE PANEL ISSUES. IN DEC 2015, I BROUGHT THE CAR TO LEXUS DEALERSHIP IN GLENDALE, CA TO REPLACE THE FRONT PANEL. DURING THE DEC 2015 VISITS, I INQUIRED ABOUT THE SIDE PANELS TOO, FRONT AND BACK. I WAS TOLD THESE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE YET AND WHEN THEY WERE, I'D KNOW. I KEPT IN CONTACT WITH LEXUS GLENDALE, AND CAME BACK IN IN DEC 2017 FINALLY TO REPLACE SIDE PANELS FRONT AND BACK. DURING DEC 2017 VISIT, I WAS TOLD SIDE PANELS FOR THE BACK WERE NOT AVAILABLE YET AND ONLY FRONT SIDE PANELS WERE COMPLETED. IT IS NOW 2/25/21, AND NOTHING IS FIXED ON BACK SIDE PANELS. TODAY, THE DEALER HAS STATED THEY CANNOT ASSIST FURTHER. LEXUS CORPORATE PASSED ME OFF IN JAN 2021, TO LOCAL DEALER LEXUS GLENDALE. LEXUS CORPORATE CLAIMS SINCE THE RECALL EFFORTS PURPORTEDLY 'ENDED,' IN 2017, THERE'S NOTHING THEY CAN DO. I RELIED ON THEIR AGENT, THE GLENDALE DEALER TO FAIRLY MANAGE THIS PROCESS FOR YEARS. 2.4.21-2.25.2021, WAS STREAM OF CALLS/TEXTS WITH LEXUS GLENDALE WHO 1ST STATED THEY WOULD LOOK INTO THIS ON THEIR INSURANCE AND GETTING IT TAKEN CARE OF, TO LOOKING FOR OLD RECORDS THAT THEY COULD NOT RECONCILE BECAUSE THEY HAD A SYSTEMS CHANGE, TO TODAY 2/25/21WITH THE DEALER STATING THEY CANNOT HELP FURTHER. NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO DATE BY LEXUS CORPORATE OR GLENDALE LEXUS TO ADDRESS THIS MATTER, WHICH EACH SHIRKING ITS ACCOUNTABILITY TO THE OTHER. LEXUS'S MODELS FROM 2006 AND SPANNING A NUMBER OF YEARS HAVE HAD MULTIPLE UPON MULTIPLE RECALLS. EVERYTHING FROM GAS COMPONENTS, TO BRAKES, TO FUEL INJECTORS, TO MELTING DASHBOARDS AND ETC. CAN YOU PLEASE HELP?
Power steering keeps going out and steering wheel making grinding noise. Almost crashed when lost steering on freeway. Car also makes noise while starting cold
THE CONCERN I HAVE FOR MY LEXUS IS 250 IS THAT 3 MAJOR SAFETY RECALL REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED BY THE DEALER. IT FEELS UNSAFE TO DRIVE TO DATE AS IT HAS ELECTRICAL ISSUES THAT HAVE CAUSED IT TO LOCK UP WHILE DRIVING. A PROBLEM WITH THE STABILITY CONTROL, STEERING AND ACCELERATION MOST NOTABLE IN THE RAIN. TODAY I LEARNED OF THE TAKATA INFLATOR RECALLS. I BELIEVE THIS MODEL SHOULD BE CONSIDERED IN WHOLE FOR A SAFETY RECALL.
THE POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING WHEN THE PARKED CAR WAS STARTED. WHEN WE TRIED TO DRIVE IT, IT WAS EXTREMELY HARD TO STEER.
MY CAR WAS LEAKING GAS AND HAS FUEL VAPOR SMELLS INSIDE THE CABIN. STRONG SMELL OF GAS AND WHEN I STARTED MY CAR GAS WOULD LEAK ALOT. THE RECALL NUMBER WAS (11V029000) AND I WAS TOLD I WASN'T ELIGIBLE FOR THIS. I HAD TO BRING MY CAR TO A LOCAL SHOP TO GET THIS CHECKED OUT AND THEY CHARGED ME $300 LABOR AND $300 FOR THE PART. I AM REALLY FRUSTRATED ABOUT THIS SITUATION. PLEASE HELP
BEFORE THE AIRBAGE RECALL THE AIRBAGE LIGHT DID NOT CAME ON, NOW SINCE THE AIRBAGE RECALL WAS DONE ON 7/24/20 AT VALLEY LEXUS MODESTO CA. NOW THE AITBAGE LIGHT CAME ON AND I CALL THE VALLEY LEXUS THEY TOLD ME THE AIRBAGE LIGHT IS NOT PART OFF THE AIRBAGE RECALL, AND THEY TOLD ME I HAVE PAID FOR DINO, BUT I DID NOT CAUSE THE LIGHT TO CAME ON. SINCE VALLEY LEXUS DOES NOT WANT TO FIX IT CAN [XXX] INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
OWNER MANUAL, SAYING IT'S LIFETIME NO CHANGING TRANSMISSION FLUID. NOW HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY TRANSMISSION BECAUSE OF THAT. I WENT ON LEXUS FORUMS, AND A LOT OF LEXUS OWNER HAVING TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS BECAUSE OF TRANSMISSION FLUID. LEXUS IS NOT STANDING BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS.
PURCHASED A CAR... OWNER SAID IT HAS 139K MILES ON DASHBOARD CLEAN TITLE NO ACCIDENT AFTER I COMPLETED THE DEAL I DECIDED TO LOOK UP THE CARFAX IT IS STATING 183K MILES I BELIEVE THE THEY DID THE ODOMETER ROLLBACK FRAUD I ALSO CHECKED ON LEXUS SERVICE HISTORY REPORT ALSO STATING 183K IN 03/2017 THE SELLER SAID EVERYTHING IS ORIGINAL NO CHANGES WERE MADE
THE VEHICLE HAD THE FRONT AIRBAGS REPLACED UNDER A NATIONAL RECALL. AFTER HAVING THE RECALL DONE, I RECEIVED, BY USPS MAIL, A "CUSTOMER SUPPORT PROGRAM NOTIFICATION - ZLJ" SENT TO ME FROM THE MANUFACTURER DESCRIBING AN EXTENDED WARRANTY, AS ISSUES HAVE OCCURRED WITH THE NEW DRIVERS SIDE KNEE AIRBAG INFLATOR TRIGGERING THE SRS LIGHT TO COME ON AFTER THE WORK WAS DONE BASED ON FAULTY CRIMPING. THIS VEHICLE IS A SECOND VEHICLE AND DOES NOT GET DRIVEN VERY OFTEN. IN JUNE OF 2020, I NOTICED THE AIRBAG LIGHT COMING ON INTERMITTENTLY WHEN FIRST STARTING THE CAR. I REMEMBERED THE NOTICE AND CALLED THE DEALER. I WAS TOLD ON JUNE 15TH THAT THE HARNESS WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED AND THE WARRANTY ENDED ON JUNE 12TH, 2020. THEY ARE REFUSING TO REPAIR THE NEW HARNESS THAT WAS INSTALLED UNDER RECALL. I WAS QUOTED $2700 OUT OF POCKET FOR THE REPAIR. THE DEALER INSTALLED A KNOWN DEFECTIVE PART, AND ARE NOW REFUSING TO PERFORM THE NECESSARY REPAIRS. SEE ATTACHED PHOTO FOR MORE INFORMATION. THE REPLACEMENT PARTS SHOULD BE LIMITED BY MILEAGE, NOT BY TIME, AS THE VEHICLE HAS ONLY BEEN DRIVEN A FEW THOUSAND MILES SINCE THE WORK WAS PERFORMED. THE FAULTY CRIMPING IN THE REPLACED HARNESS SHOULD BE A NEW RECALL.
VEHICLE JUST TURNED OVER 100,000 MILES. 6-2020 UPON A MORNING START, THE VEHICLE HAD TROUBLE STARTING UP ALMOST AS IF IT HAD FUEL STARVATION. I CRANKED THE VEHICLE UP A FEW MORE TIMES IT WAS OK IT TURNED ON. UPON DRIVING THE VEHICLE HAD EXTREMELY UNRELIABLE ACCELERATION , VERY HAD SPUTTERING FROM AND TO STOP LIGHTS THIS WAS FROM MY COMMUTE TO WORK. THE VEHICLE HAD BECOME UNPREDICTABLE, SOME DAYS IT WOULD ACT LIKE THAT SOME DAYS IT WOULDN'T. THIS STARTED TO BOTHER ME AS I RARELY WORRY ABOUT SITUATIONS UNLESS THEY'RE DANGEROUS. LATE 6-2020 ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK AT ABOUT 5:00PM THE VEHICHLE STARTED SPUTTERING ABOUT 1 MILE AWAY FROM MY HOME. AS I CROSSED THE INTERSECTION OF TAYLOR AND RAILROAD STREET. THE VEHICLE DIED ON ME AT THE INTERSECTION. I HAD THOUGHT THIS WAS JUST THE CAR WITH THE ACCELERATION PROBLEM. SO I PROCEEDED TO TURNED IT BACK ON. AFTER 10 MINUTES OF CRANKING THE VEHICLE I HAD DRAINED THE BATTERY COMPLETELY. CAR IS STRANDED, TRAFFIC WAS A HUGE BUILD UP BEHIND ME, VEHICLE WAYS WELL OVER 3000LBS SO I ATTEMPTED TO QUICK CHARGE THE BATTERY, AFTER 10 MINUTES I HAD ALREADY BYSTANDERS HELP ME PUSH THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE, DUE TO THE MASSIVE BUILD UP OF TRAFFIC. 7-2020 AFTER 2 SEPERATE DIAGNOSTICS I HAD REPLACED THE FUEL INJECTOR PUMP AND A COLD START VALVE AT THE ENGINE. CAR WAS RUNNING OK UNTIL MID 7-2020 WHEN IT BEGAN HAVING THE SAME EXACT ISSUES AGAIN. AS THIS WAS MY ONLY VEHICLE AT THE MOMENT I HAD NO OTHER CHOICE BUT TO USE IT ONE WEEK LATER AFTER GOING TO MY MOTHERS HOUSE FROM WORK. THE VEHICLE DECIDED TO SHUT OFF ON ME COMPLETELY THIS TIME ON THE ROAD AT 35 MPH ZONE. CAR SEEMED TO STARVE OF FUEL AND I HAD TO QUICKLY REACT SINCE THE CAR WAS IN MOTION AND LUCKILY PULLOVER. FORTUNATELY IT WAS A LIGHT DAY OF TRAFFIC AT THE ROAD OF COOK ST. THATS WHEN I HAD ENOUGH, I AM COMPLAINING BECAUSE THIS VEHICLE IS EXTREMELY UNSAFE AND ITS AN ISSUE I CAN'T SOLVE!
DASHBOARD IS STICKY AND PEELING CAUSING SAFETY AND VISIBILITY ISSUES. I HAVE CONTACTED LEXUS AND THEY ARE NO LONGER FIXING THE ISSUE, THOUGH IT HAS BEEN RECALLED. THEY HAVE CLOSED THE RECALL BUT THIS IS STILL AN ISSUE AND THE RECALL SHOULD BE REOPENED.
CHECK ENGINE, VSC AND TRAC OFF LIGHT COMES ON. TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH SOLENOID TRANSMISSION CODE.
I WAS DRIVING AND MY STEERING WHEEL POWER WENT IN AND OUT WITH NO WARNINGS & MY POWER STEERING FLUID IS FULL..I WAS TURNING AT THE END OF MY ROAD AND THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO CRASH BECAUSE OF IT..I CALLED MY HUSBAND TO COME GET THE CAR AND GET IT HOME , WE HAVEN'T DROVE IT SINCE.
ENGINE BURNING SO MUCH OIL AFTER OIL CHANGE. DEALER SAYS THATS NORMAL. I HAVE TO KEEP ADDING OIL EVERY 1000 MILE RIGHT AFTER THEY CHANGED THE OIL. THIS IS NOT NORMAL.
I WAS DRIVING BACK TO LOS ANGELES FROM A TRIP TO SAN FRANCISCO, HALF WAY TO LOS ANGELES. MY TRANSMISSION BREAKS DOWN . I WAS GOING AT ABOUT 90+MPH , SO I IMMEDIATELY HAD TO GET TO THE RIGHT HAND SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY , IT WAS DEFINITELY DANGEROUS AND THE OUTCOME COULD OF BEEN WORSE.
THIS IS IN REGARDS TO DASHBOARD STICKINESS, CRACKING AND WINDSHIELD GLARE/REFLECTION. ALSO THE DOOR PANELS. THE UNDERSTANDING LEXUS ISSUED WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT NOW THEY INDICATE THE PROGRAM HAS EXPIRED. WE JUT PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FOR OUR 16 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER AND THIS IS MAJOR CONCERNS SINCE IT HAD SAFETY IMPACT IN MY MIND DUE TO THE GLARING AND POSSIBLE IMPACT TO THE AIR BAG DUE TO THE WORKMANSHIP FLAW THAT LEXUS IS ADMITTING TO. I WAS ONLY ALLOWED TO UPLOAD THE PICTURES BELOW. I COULDN'T UPLOAD ADDITIONAL PICTURES.
MY 2006 LEXUS IS250 SUDDENLY LOST POWER STEERING ONE DAY, WHEN SHIFTING FROM PARK TO DRIVE. RED P/S LIGHT SHOWED UP ON DASHBOARD, SO I HAD TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK, TURN THE ENGINE OFF, AND TURN IT BACK ON TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. HOWEVER, IT WASN'T LONG BEFORE THIS STOPPED WORKING. P/S LIGHT SOMETIMES ALSO TURNS ON WHILE I'M ON THE FREEWAY, AND I HAVE TO MAN-HANDLE THE STEERING WHEEL TO PULL OVER. I BROUGHT MY CAR TO MY MECHANIC, WHO REPLACED THE RACK AND PINION TWICE. THEN, I BROUGHT MY CAR TO DEALERSHIP TO REPLACE THE ECM. THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IN REPAIRS BUT THE ISSUE WAS STILL NOT FIXED.
MY ENGINE BURN OIL MORE THAN IT SHOULD. I ADDED A FULL BOTTLE IN LESS THAN 3000 MILES. WHEN STARTING IT IN THE MORNING I CAN SMELL THE BURNING OIL!!
THERE IS A VERY FOUL ODOR THAT FILLS THE CABIN OF THE CAR, IT STARTED APPROX, 2 MONTHS AGO WHEN I BEGAN USING THE A/C. LEXUS SERVICE DID A FORCED FOAM CLEANING OF THE H VAC SYSTEM AND 3 DAYS OF IONIZING THE AIR, THE CABIN FILTER WAS ALSO REPLACED. NONE OF THIS HAS HELPED AND THE SMELL IS UNBEARABLE PLEASE HELP!! THIS ODOR IS NOT ALWAYS FULL STRENGTH, IT IS PRESENT AFTER THE CAR HAS SAT OVER NIGHT OR JUST PARKED FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS. IT IS PRESENT WHEN DRIVING. NO RHYME OR REASON AND NO ONE CAN RID THE VEHICLE OF THIS FOUL RATCHET ODOR OR TELL ME WHAT IS CAUSING IT.
INTERIOR DASH AND DOOR PANELS MATERIAL HAS BECOME RUBBERY AND STICKY, TENDS TO CHIP OFF AND SMEAR LIKE MELTED RUBBER. *TR
I GOT AN ACCIDENT, TRY TO SAVE DEER AND FOX BUT BRAKE DIDN'T WORK PROPERLY AND DIS-BALANCED THE CAR AND MY CAR ROLL OVER FEW TIME AND HIT FROM FRONT AND BACK BUT NO AIRBAG DEPLOYED, AND STABILITY CONTROL DIDN'T WORK.
THEY A/C CONTROLLER IS NOT WORKING, TRANSMISSION ISSUE, BATTERY IS NEW BUT I ALWAYS JUMP THE BATTERY AND A WARNING RED TRIANGLE ON THE DASHBOARD. *TR
AT 30,000 MILES, WE ARE BEING TOLD THAT THE ENGINE NEEDS TO BE REBUILT DUE TO EXCESS CARBON BUILDUP. IT HAS BEEN SERVICED THROUGH LEXUS OF CONCORD THROUGH 8/17 AND THEN LEXUS MONTEREY UNTIL PRESENT. I ACCELERATED ON THE FREEWAY TO GET IN TO THE OTHER LANE BUT THE CAR LOST POWER. I COASTED TO AN EXIT AND GOT OFF. THE SKID CONTROL LIGHT, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND ! LIGHT ALL CAME ON. I DROVE IT ON SURFACE ROADS AND THE CHECK VCS LIGHT CAME ON. ON A SLIGHT DECLINE, IT WOULD ONLY GO 5 MPH. I HAD IT TOWED TO LEXUS OF MONTEREY PENINSULA.
THE ISSUE IS MY DASH AND DOOR PANELS ARE STICKY/MELTING. THEY PEAL AT THE SLIGHTEST TOUCH AND ARE ONLY GETTING WORSE AND WORSE BY THE DAY.
REAR VIEW MIRROR HAS DEGRADED AND IS A COMMON PROBLEM. HAS BLACK SPOTS AND LINES THAT RENDER IT UNUSABLE AND PREVENT THE DRIVER FROM BEING ABLE TO SEE BEHIND THEM VIA UTILIZATION OF THE MIRROR LEADING TO ACCIDENTS.
