My 2007 Lincoln MKX was in Drive with the brake depressed waiting to back up into a traffic lane from an angled parking space in front of a small shop in our historic downtown area. Suddenly, the vehicle accelerated forward at a high rate of speed jumping the shallow curb and slamming into the cement foundation of the store. Continuing to depress the brakes made no difference in stopping the jarring unintended forward motion. The speed moving forward was so high that in the 10-12 feet from the curb to the store entrance the impact demolished the entire front of the vehicle even bending the front axels. The airbags did not deploy at all. The witness interviewed, reported loud screeching tires as her back was to the scene during the collision. Local PD, EMS and Fire all responded, with a full police report filed. It was extremely fortunate no person was either on the sidewalk or in the entrance to the storefront. My injuries included severe bruising to the right side of my neck, as well as a hematoma on my right tibia and an oblique fracture to bones in my right foot. There were no passengers in the car with me. The accident, and extreme concern over the malfunction of the vehicle allowing it to take control away from myself as the driver, has been reported to Ford Lincoln and a claim number established. My insurance company took possession of the vehicle from the tow lot after three days after determining it was a total loss. To reiterate, there was no warning at all before the incident. I was simply waiting for traffic to clear, so I could put the vehicle from Drive into Reverse and pull out of the parking space.
My 2007 Lincoln MKX had an SUA and within 10 feet totaled the front end when it was thrust into a cement building. This happened On [XXX] and the vehicle is available for inspection here in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. In 2010 Lincoln implemented an override device to the brake system knowing of the problem and there was no recall for vehicles prior to 2010. My safety was put at risk and that of others. If someone had been exiting the store or walking down the sidewalk they could have been killed. I am suffering with physical and mental problems as a result of this. Police report also states this was definitely a vehicle malfunction. There were no warning signs prior to the incident. The contact owns a 2007 Lincoln MKX. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V682000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer for the recall repair; however, the dealer was waiting for approval from the manufacturer to perform other unknown repairs due to corrosion near the fuel tank. The vehicle remained unrepaired at the dealer for 28-days. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 195,000.
I purchased the vehicle a few months ago from a small used dealership in Anderson, SC. The seller/owner raved about the condition of the car and all seemed well until after the purchase when I discovered there was an Open Recall for the driver's airbag. However, when I contacted the local Ford dealership and the NHTSA website I found there is "No Remedy" available from Ford. According to various websites, I find that the risk factor is listed as RED due to the extreme temp variation and perpetual humidity in South Carolina, but some state is getting these replacement bags, though not here. We do not have a garage or carport so the car is outside and subject to all the variations constantly. I can find no means of notifying Ford that I am the new owner of this VIN so will never receive the mandated mail notification. I am elderly and do not believe I should have to wait until there is an explosion in order to get some action. Takata cannot be the only manufacturer of airbags. My vehicle needs to be made safe NOW and not THEN. Somehow I would bet that a bag is available if I were able to afford it on my own.

Dual climate control only heating on passenger side driver’s side is not heating it has 115000 it’s a 2007 mkx it is also leaking fluid from the ptu the car is only 10 months old this is ridiculous ford should be issuing recalls for these as there are many people that have the same complaints for the faulty parts someone is going to get hurt if ford doesnt recall these parts
While driving between 35 to 60 the car is very noisy in Gear. checked all fluids and under carriage and it’s leaking oil from the ptu

The contacts husband stated while driving approximately 35mph when the driver side airbag inflated without warning which resulted in the contact's husband to lose control and crash the vehicle into a vehicle in front. 4 persons were injured (the contacts husband and 3 other individuals that were in the other vehicle) the occupants in the other vehicle went and sought medical treatment (contact does not know the type of injuries) while the contact's husband did not seek medical treatment for bruising. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a police lot. The contact stated no warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an unknown dealer and diagnosed but not repaired. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD TO THE STORE IN TOWN AT 25 MPH, AND A LIGHT CLANGING STARTED COMING FROM UNDER THE CAR. UPON HEADING BACK TOWARD MY HOUSE THE CAR BEGAN MAKING A LOUDER CLANGING AND THE CAR SUDDENLY LOCKED UP. I THOUGH MY CAR WAS SEIZING UP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. IT DID NOT WANT TO MOVE FORWARD!! IT LOOSENED UP TO MAKE IT THE 2 BLOCKS HOME.WHEN BACKING INTO MY DRIVEWAY I WAS TOLD ONE OF MY TIRES WAS NOT MOVING AND THE OTHER ONE JUMPED. UPON HAVING THE CAR CHECKED OUT I AM TD THAT OT OS THE PTU CAUSING THE ISSUE. IT IS JUST LUCKY THAT I WAS NOT DRIVING HOME FROM WORK WHEN THIS STARTED. HEAVEN FORBID IF MY CAR WOULD HAVE LOCKED UP LIKE THAT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY. THAT COULD HAVE BEEN DEADLY AT 65 MPH! THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE FIXED AS THERE SEEMS TO BE A LOT OF COMPLAINTS FOR THIS ISSUE. LETS NOT WAIT UNTIL SOMEONE GETS REAR ENDED INTO OBLIVION BECAUSE OF THE FORD COMPANY FAILING TO BUILD.THESE VEHICLES SAFELY!

MY 2007 MKX ONLY HAS 135,000 MILES SINCE PURCHASE WE'VE HAD TO CHANGE FRONT AXLES, CALIPERS, 2 SETS OF LIFETIME BRAKES BUT MOST CONCERNING IS THE PTU HAS TO BE CHANGED. AS I WAS LOOKING INTO PTU INFORMATION I HAVE CAME ACROSS DETAILED INFORMATION THAT THE PTU IS A KNOWN ISSUE THROUGH THE MANUFACTURER SO I'M NOT UNDERSTANDING WHY THERE'S NO RECALL ON THIS ONGOING ISSUE. I WAS DRIVING AND STARTED HEARING A LOUD METAL THUMPING AND FELT LIKE WHEELS WERE TRYING TO LOCK UP AND WHEN BACKING INTO DRIVEWAY IT STARTED JUMPING.
ONLY 118,000 MILES ALL MY 2007 LINCOLN MKX AND THE TRANSMISSION IS OUT OH, I BOUGHT A LINCOLN BECAUSE I THOUGHT THEY WOULD BE A GOOD VEHICLE TO BUY JUST BECAUSE THE NAME I GUESS BUT I GUESS I WAS WRONG BECAUSE YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE A TRANSMISSION OUT AT 118000 MILES.
NO PRESSURE AT ALL ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, RESULTING IN TOTAL LOSS OF BRAKE POWER KNOWN AS VAPOUR LOCK; IN WITCH CALL MY VEHICLE TO CRASH

THE CONTACT CALLED KEY SCALES FORD (1719 CITRUS BLVD, LEESBURG, FL 34748, (352) 787-3511) HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 113,832.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2007 LINCOLN MKZ. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE GOING AROUND A CURVE AT 15 MPH, THE VEHICLE SLED ON SOME BLACK ICE AND LANDED IN A DITCH. THE FRONTAL DRIVER'S AND PASSENGER AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE HOOD, BUMPER, FENDER, MIRROR AND THE UNDERCARRIAGE WERE DAMAGED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY AND TOWED AWAY FROM THE SCENE. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED YET. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 170,000.
I WAS DRIVING ON 295 HEADING TO FOSTER RI. I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY GOING ABOUT 55 MPH WHEN MY SUV STARTED TO BUCK THEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STARTED BLINKING AND MY SUV WOULDN'T EVEN DO 40 MPH SO I GOT OFF THE HIGHWAY AND PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT ON HARTFORD AVE JOHNSTON WAITED FOR A TOW TRUCK WHILE WAITING MY CAR STALLED AND WOULDN'T START BACK UP. IF I DIDN'T GET OFF THE HIGHWAY WHEN I DID I WOULD OF BEEN INVOLVED IN A CAR CRASH BECAUSE I COULDN'T EVEN DO THE SPEED LIMIT. I FEEL THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL BECAUSE IT'S CONSIDERED A SAFETY ISSUE TO ME. I HAD MY CAR TOWED TO TASCA THEY SAID THE DIAGNOSTIC COMPUTER SAID IT WAS THE PCM, MIGHT HAVE BURNT OUT THE COILS AND SPARK PLUGS. I FEEL THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS WHAT IF I WASN'T WHERE I COULD GET OFF THE HIGHWAY IT COULD OF CAUSED A BAD ACCIDENT OR EVEN DEATH. SO I'M ASKING CAN THIS PLEASE BE A RECALL SO NOBODY JEOPARDIZE THEIR LIFE.

THE TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING AND IS MISSING GEARS AND SMELL FUNKY
THE BRAKE BOOSTER FAILED ON THIS VEHICLE LEAVING THE VEHICLE ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO STOP
THE BRAKES SHUTTER WHEN MAKING STOPS AND THE PEDAL BECOMES HARD THEN GOES ALL THE WAY DOWN. THIS HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES WHETHER AT SLOW SPEEDS IN THE CITY AND HIGHWAY SPEED, WHICH ALMOST LED TO AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE THE VEHICLE ALMOST DID NOT STOP. ALSO THE ABS LIGHT COMES ON WHEN DRIVING ON HIGHWAY. I'VE HAD MANY PARTS REPLACED SUCH AS SUSPENSION FRONT AND REAR, STABILIZER ARMS IN FRONT, CALIPERS, BRAKE PADS ETC. BUT THE VEHICLE CONTINUES TO HAVE THIS ISSUE.
TAKATA RECALL - FOR THREE WEEKS NOW, I'VE BEEN TRYING TO SCHEDULE A REPAIR ON MY LINCOLN MKX'S PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG AFTER GETTING THE NOTIFICATION FROM LINCOLN MOTOR COMPANY + MY SAFETY RECALL NUMBER. ALL FOUR OF THE LINCOLN FORD DEALERSHIPS NEAR ME IN WASHINGTON ARE EITHER (1) NOT CALLING ME BACK, OR (2) HAVE A WAIT LIST OF CUSTOMERS THAT IS 450 OWNERS DEEP (EVERGREEN LINCOLN FORD)!!! THAT IS A TWO YEAR WAITLIST. THIS RECALL SOUNDS SERIOUS, BUT IT SEEMS THE DEALERSHIPS AROUND ME HAVE ZERO INCENTIVE OR DESIRE TO FIX A POTENTIALLY DEADLY DEFECT IN THE AIRBAG. MAYBE BECAUSE IT IS FREE? I'M UNSURE BUT I WANTED TO FORMALLY LOG THIS COMPLAINT BECAUSE ALL OF THE VIDEOS, LETTERS, MESSAGES FROM LINCOLN MOTOR COMPANY STATE THIS DEFECT IS VERY DANGEROUS, BUT THE DEALERSHIPS DONT CARE. IT'S TERRIFYING THAT MYSELF, MY FAMILY, MY CHILDREN, OR FRIENDS COULD DIE BECAUSE OF SHRAPNEL THROWN OUT BY THIS DEFECTIVE AIRBAG SHOULD THERE BE AN ACCIDENT.
Transmission shudders at various shift points but mostly during slight increase in acceleration between 40 to 55 MPH.

"TAKATA RECALL"I HAVE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR MY LINCOLN IN DECEMBER 2017.AND MY VEHICLE HAVE NOT YET HAD MY TAKATA AIRBAGS REPAIRED. I HAVE CONTACTED THE LINCOLN IN PINES BLVD MANY TIMES AND THEY DO NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. I WAS IN THERE WITH THE RECALL NOTICE IN SPRING OF 2018 AND NOTHING HAPPENED.THAT WAS THE DATE PROVIDED ON THE NOTICE. WE ARE IN NOVEMBER 2018 AND THEY ARE PASSING ALMOST TWO YEARS. THE LINCOLN ARE EXPENSIVE CARS AND THE MAINTENANCE ALSO COST TOO MUCH. I CAN NOT BELIEVE THEY CAN NOT ASSIST PEOPLE IN THIS DANGEROUS SITUATION.IF TAKATA AIRBAGS DEPLOY, THEY SPRAY METAL DEBRIS TOWARD VEHICLE OCCUPANTS AND MAY CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY. I ANSWERED THE QUESTIONS TO SEE IF MY CAR WAS PART OF THE RECALL. THE COMPUTER SAID NO. I KNOW FOR A FACT AND I HAVE THE RECALL PAPERS, BUT IT ALSO SAID THERE WERE NO PARTS AT THE DEALERSHIP TO FIX IT. I LIVE IN A REMOTE PART OF NEBRASKA AND A RENTAL CAR IS NOT AVAILABLE. SO WHAT AM I TO DO IF I CANT DRIVE MY CAR. YOU SYSTEM TO FILE TO BE PART OF THE SETTLEMENT SUCKS.

OUR CAR WAS IDENTIFIED AS FORD/LINCOLN SAFETY RECALL 14S22 INVOLVING CORROSION OF THE FUEL TANK. AS DEALER WAS PAID BY FORD IN 2016 FORD HAS INDICATED THAT THEY ARE NOT GOING TO PAY DEALER 2X FOR SAME RECALL. WORK DONE IS BEYOND 12 MONTH WARRANTY FOR RECALL REPAIR. I HAVE HAD TO RENT A CAR BECAUSE MY MKX IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE LEAKING FUEL. TANK IS $2,770 PLUS LABOR. AS RECALL HAS NO EXPIRATION DATE, FORD/SOUTH HILLS LINCOLN NEED TO FIX SAFETY PROBLEM. HELP!
TAKATA RECALL - FORD/LINCOLN PROVIDED A MID-SIZE SUV RENTAL FOR 1WEEK AND A HALF, THEN ASKED THAT I TAKE A COMPACT VEHICLE. I BOUGHT A LINCOLN MKX (MID SIZE SUV) AND WOULD LIKE A SIMILAR RENTAL WHILE A FIX/REPAIR IS PROVIDED FOR MY VEHICLE. IF MY FAMILY WANTED A COMPACT VEHICLE WE WOULD'VE BOUGHT ONE, WE BOUGHT A LINCOLN MKS (MID SIZE SUV) AS THAT'S WHAT MY FAMILY NEEDS. I WOULD LIKE FORD/LINCOLN TO ACCOMODATE TO THE LEVEL OF VEHICLE OWNED. AS OF NOW, I'M BEING 'FORCED' TO CONTINUE DRIVING A VEHICLE THAT'S NOT SAFE, PUTTING MY FAMILY/PASSENGERS AT RISK. TAKATA INFLATOR AND AIRBAG WHEN I ENTER MY VIN REGARDING THE TAKATA AIRBAGS, IT SUGGESTS THAT MY VEHICLE HAS TWO AIRBAG ISSUES FOR WHICH PARTS ARE NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE. WHEN I CONTACTED CUSTOMER SERVICE REGARDING THE MATTER THEY ALSO INDICATED THAT PARTS FOR MY VEHICLE WOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL THE END OF THE YEAR. HOWEVER, MYSTERIOUSLY AFTER COMPLAINING ABOUT POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AT THE ALBANY FORD/LINCOLN DEALERSHIP IN ALBANY, GA VIA THE 1-800 CUSTOMER NUMBER, MY VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO ME INDICATING THAT ONE OF THE ISSUES WAS RESOLVED (PASSENGER) AND THE OTHER WAS A NON-ISSUE. AND THUS THEY TOOK NO ACTION. EVERYWHERE I'VE READ, PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE SO I AM CONCERNED AS TO WHY MY VEHICLE WAS ALL OF A SUDDEN "FIXED" WHEN I BEGAN FILING COMPLAINTS ON MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP. I BELIEVE IT IS POSSIBLE THAT I AM DRIVING AROUND A TICKING TIMEBOMB THAT HAS NOT YET BEEN FIXED THUS JEOPARDIZING ME AND MY PASSENGERS. I THINK THEY ARE ENGAGING IN SHADY BUTISINESS PRACTICES LOCALLY, BUT AS OF LATELY THIS SEEMS NATIONALLY TO BE A COMPANY-WIDE FORD/LINCOLN PHILOSOPHY, AND THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP IS JUST A SYMPTOM, NOT THE CAUSE.
