Additionally, while the brake pedal was depressed; the contact heard a hissing sound coming from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with brake booster failure. The contact was informed that the brake booster needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
I am satisfied with the help that the customer service assisted me with and that was getting my service moved up to September 26th from the original date of October 30th. But I am not satisfied with the remedy. I have received several written letters from Lincoln that go into detail of the recall on my car and as well they say and in BIG RED LETTERS ..DO NOT DRIVE YOUR CAR UNTIL REPAIRS ARE DONE. WELL, I should say that you see my 2010 Lincoln Mkx is my and only vehicle I own I can not just park it up and forget I have a life and a job because of no fault of my own that my one and only car urgently is needing repair to the factory installed air bags. Therefore I ask Lincoln to assist me with a rental until my car had been repaired. I do not feel safe DRIVING MY CAR.Letter's I have on hand from Lincoln plainly stating DO NOT DRIVE. I am upset Lincoln ortrays they care so much to bombard me with all the recall letters and such but pretty much told me NO WE DONT DO RENTAL CARS So what I am to do??? I don't have rental coverage on my insurance. I couldn't afford it. So what choice do I have??? If I do die from their faulty air bags imploding on me atleast make sure my children and grandchildren knew I begged for a rental but Lincoln couldn't back me with that. I guess making luxury car's for so many years has not left them with much profit Seeing as how in a life or death situation brought on by their mistake they leave their customers to chance it because it cost to much for rentals to ensure their customers are kept safe until their car is serviced and safe to drive. They have no compassion for people is how I am feeling about this whole situation. Only covering themselves legally in the cheapest fix possible to avoid legal issues. Guess Lincoln owners are just numbers and dollar signs and not mothers, fathers, daughters, sons, aunt or uncles or grandparents that are loved and would be missed severely in the event of their death by a recalled air bag.
The contact owns a 2010 Lincoln MKX. The contact stated while operating the vehicle, the odor of fuel was present inside the cabin of the vehicle. Later, while refueling, gasoline was spilling from the vehicle onto the ground. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the fuel tank seam weld had corroded, and the fuel tank needed to be replaced. The contact was informed that the vehicle was previously repaired under the NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V712000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) however, the corrosion preventative solution was applied to the fuel tank, but the failure occurred. The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 65,000.
Brakes are extremely hard to use, takes both feet to stop vehicle, once stopped the engine will stall while brake is touched, must put vehicle in park when stopped.
The brake pedal is very difficult to depress. You have to push very hard for the car to come to a stop. The brakes do not work correctly causing not stopping when pressed. Safety issue for myself and others on the road. My car now has 122,890 miles on it. There was a recall that expired 2015. Never repaired under the recall, before I took ownership.

The contact pulled over on the side of the road and examined the tires and notice that the tires were fine. The contact drove the vehicle home and examined under the vehicle and notice that the fuel tank was felling due to corrosion under the vehicle. The dealer was contacted and stated that the VIN was not under NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V712000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) and did not provide any assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and also stated that the VIN was not under NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V712000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) and advised to contact NHTSA. The failure mileage was 166,000.
I was Driving in my 2010 Lincoln MKX January 16,2023 and the front sunroof exploded i hear a loud sound but when I looked up the front sunroof shattered, it all most caused me to have a car accident but I maintain and pull over to the side road. I really think that the manufacture done properly on the sunroof I was not using the sunroof because it’s cold outside !
O.C. Welch Ford-Lincoln of Hardeeville, SC 29927 has not completed the safety recall on the airbags for the 2010 Ford Lincoln MKX. After trying to get them to repair the airbags for over a year, they finally fixed the passenger side airbag. They originally stated they had the parts to fix driver's side, but told us they were on back-order. They said they would get in touch with us once the parts came in. It has been over 5 months and we have not heard anything from them in regards to fixing the driver's side airbag.
No sensor on this year of Lincoln However front blind spot between windshield and rear view outside mirror is horrible which resulted in my accident 2 days ago...I have 2 witnesses that can confirm such difficulty seeing while turning

The front seat when we had to come to a stop the seat bounced forward and then back. Very dangerous. This should be a recall. I have many read letters of this happening for many others. It is an accident waiting to happen.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who replaced the headlight bulbs and wires; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the mechanic, who diagnosed that the headlight wiring harness kept disconnecting. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted however, the contact was not able to speak to a live representative. The failure mileage was approximately 159,000.
I was driving my 2010 Lincoln MKX in heavy traffic when the signal light turned red. When I pushed the brake to stop it was very stiff and I almost hit another vehicle. I could have been seriously injured if I had it another car because there is another safety recall on this vehicle relating to the driver airbag spewing shrapnel in a front end collision. I have had the recall notice regarding the air bag for almost a year already. Ford motor company deemed my vehicle safe to drive with this airbag issue. As it turns out, the brake booster bladder has a tear in it. I purchased the vehicle in 2020 and never was never sent a recall notice on the brake booster even though Ford Motor Company knew about it. According to what I have read online, Ford Motor decided that the recall was only good for a specific amount of time. How can that possibly be the case. This is a safety issue that should be covered for the life of the vehicle. Someone needs to do something about this before someone is seriously injured or killed.

The contact owned a 2010 Lincoln MKX. The contact stated while driving at 30 MPH and crossing an intersection, another vehicle crashed into the passenger’s side of the vehicle and pushed the vehicle into oncoming traffic. As a result, another vehicle crashed into the driver’s side of the vehicle. The contact was knocked out unconscious. The contact was later informed that the driver’s side air bag had exploded and projected sharp fragments that caused injuries to her body. The contact was transported to the hospital with the assistance of emergency units. The contact was diagnosed with a subdural hematoma on both sides of the brain, six broken ribs, bruised sternum, subdural hematoma on the right breast, knee injuries, neck stenosis, bruises on the ankle, and on the entire right side of the body. Additionally, the contact sustain brain hemorrhage that required brain surgery. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot where it was totaled. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 133,000. The contact stated that the passenger side airbags were replaced. While waiting for the parts to replace the driver side airbags, the accident occurred and caused harm to the contact.
First it was the alarm system it would lock me out the car. Then it was the air conditioning it would only turn on when it wanted too. Then I would press the seat cooler and it malfunctioned and I had a second degree burn on my lower back. Then the check engine light came on and it started to overheat. I pulled over turned off the ignition and the car was still running. That happened twice my mechanic would come turn the car off even by disconnecting the battery the car was still on somehow he had to disconnect another part for car to turn off. He told me not move it anymore. 15 to 20 minutes later the car was on fire and the fire department came and turned it off. I bought the car on 4/24/2021 and it was on fire on 05/27/2021.
My car was t-boned and pushed into oncoming traffic. I was knocked unconscious by air bag deployment and it caused brain injury, damage to my breast.

I OPENED MY CAR DOOR FROM THE INSIDE DRIVERS SEAT AND HEARD A LOUD POP. MY DOOR HANDLE DOESN'T SEEM BROKEN, BUT WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE NOW. THE CAR WAS IN PARK WHEN IT HAPPENED.

FOR THE PAST 5 YEARS, MY DRIVER'S SEAT HAS MADE A METAL ON METAL LOUD SLIPPING NOISE WHEN MAKING TURNS AND BRAKING. THE DEALER ADVISED ME (OUT OF WARRANTY) THAT IT WAS A BROKEN SEAT TRACK AND IS COMMON OCCURRENCE. I LIVED WITH THE ANNOYANCE, BUT IT HAS RECENTLY TURNED MUCH WORSE ALLOWING THE SEAT TO MOVE A GREATER DISTANCE AND MORE FREQUENT. I AM AFRAID THE SEAT WILL COME APART OR NOT WITHHOLD IN AN ACCIDENT. MANY FORUMS IDENTIFY THIS ISSUE AMONGST MANY FORD AND LINCOLNS.
THE SUV WILL MAKE A NOISE WHEN BRAKING. ALSO SOMETIMES IT WILL NOT STOP THE SUV AND I'VE HAD TO HIT A DITCH TO AVOID A CAR CRASH

THE RECALL BEGINS WITH MAY PRODUCTION IN 2010, OUR CAR CAME FROM THAT PLANT IN APRIL 2010. PLEASE EXTENT RECALL TO COVER OUR VEHICLE FOR THE IDENTICAL PROBLEM, FROM THE IDENTICAL PLANT. STARTING IN EARLY FALL 2019, MULTIPLE PROBLEMS WITH BREAKS, REPLACED ALL PADS & ROTORS NOW X 2. BREAK PEDDLE HAS INTERMITTENT SPONGY FEEL- ISN'T CONSISTENT PRESSURE, SOMETIMES IS SUPER HARD TO PRESS DOWN, OTHER TIMES PRESS IT FOR A LONG TIME AND THE VEHICLE ISN'T STOPPING. PEDDLE MAKES A HISS NOISE AND SOMETIMES STRANGE CLICKS WITH VERY INCONSISTENT PRESSURE. RE- REPLACED ALL BREAK PADS AGAIN 2/24/20, OUR MECHANIC NOTIFIED US ITS THE BREAK BOOSTER PART FAILURE. THIS IS KNOWN YEAR AND PART FAILURE FOR OUR MKX. I'VE CALLED LINCOLN. THEY REFUSE TO OFFER US THE EXTENDED WARRANTY REPAIR UPFRONT, EVEN THOUGH WE'VE PAID FOR BREAKS X2 IN LESS THAN 6 MONTHS. THIS IRREGULAR BRAKE PEDDLE PROBLEM OCCURS ON ALL ROADS FREEWAY/ SIDE STREETS. OUR VEHICLE HAS 100K MILES ON IT, WELL UNDER THEIR 150K MILE WARRANTY FOR THIS PART AND IS 10 YEARS. LINCOLN WE'D HAVE TO SUBMIT THE RECEIPT AND MAYBE THEN OUR VIN WILL BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL WARRANTY AFTERWARD. I FEEL THE SAFETY OF MYSELF AND OUR FAMILY IS EXTREMELY JEOPARDIZED AND LINCOLN IS TRYING TO AVOID RESPONSIBILITY TO FIX THIS KNOWN PART FAILURE AT ANY LENGTH. WE FEEL LINCOLN IS INTENTIONALLY BEING DISHONEST TOWARDS THEIR QUALITY AND SAFETY OF THEIR PRODUCT MKX. I'M WORRIED THAT THERE WILL BE AN ACCIDENT. DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND MY CAR STARTED RUNNING WEIRD AND HAD NO POWER. PULLED OVER AND THERE WAS STEAM COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE COOLANT JUG WAS EMPTY. CHECKED THE OIL AND IT IT WAS MILKY AND STEAMING AS WELL.

I WAS TOLD TO CALL TO SEE IF THERE WERE RECALLS. THERE IS A RECALL ON 2010 LINCOLN MKX HOWEVER I WAS TOLD THAT MY CAR DID NOT QUALIFY ALTHOUGH LINCOLN IS VERY FAMILIAR WITH THIS PROBLEM. FORD MOTOR COMPANY IS RECALLING 600,000 VEHICLES FOR A FAULTY VALVE IN THE HYDRAULIC BRAKING SYSTEM. THE RECALL DOESN'T CURRENTLY INCLUDE THE 2010 MKX WHICH I OWN. I HAVE HAD AN INTERMITTENT BRAKING PROBLEM THE LAST THREE MONTHS IN WHICH I TOOK IT IN AND WAS GIVEN NEW BRAKES AND ROTORS BUT HASN'T FIXED THE PROBLEM OF THE BRAKE PETAL INTERMITTENTLY BECOMING HARDER WHILE BRAKING REQUIRING A LONGER DISTANCE TO BRAKE. I WANT TO KNOW IF OTHER MKX OWNERS HAVE HAD A SIMILAR EXPERIENCE? WHEN I HEARD ABOUT THE 19S54 RECALL I KNOW THAT MY VEHICLE IS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. WHAT CAN I DO TO BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL? CALLING THEM IS AN AUTOMATED NIGHTMARE IN WHICH YOU ENTER YOUR VEHICLE NUMBER AND ARE TOLD IT DOESN'T INCLUDE YOUR VEHICLE. IT TOOK TWO YEARS TO BE INCLUDED ON THE AIRBAG RECALL. THANK YOU
EXTERIOR FRONT PASSENGER DOOR HANDLE BROKE AND COMPLETELY SEPARATED FROM VEHICLE DURING NORMAL OPENING OPERATION. VEHICLE WAS STOPPED IN "PARK' UNDER NORMAL OPENING PROCEDURE.
MY BRAKE BOOSTER WENT OUT. I DID FIND THAT THERE WAS A EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR SOME BUT MY VIN NUMBER DID "NOT" QUALIFY. SOUNDS LIKE A LIE TO ME. THIS IS A LIFE THREATENING. I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS PROBLEM AS OTHERS HAVE BEEN GIVEN THE EXTENDED WARRANTY COVERAGE. THE FACT THAT THIS IS WAS DONE ON SOME BUT NOT ALL, DOES NOT MAKE SAFETY SENSE TO ME. MY CAR WAS ASSEMBLED AT THE DESIGNATED SITE THAT HAD THE PROBLEM. I AM HAVING MY CAR REPAIRED AT A "NON-FORD" MECHANIC, SINCE THE LAST TIME I WENT TO A FORD DEALER, THE DEALER TRIED "THEFT BY DECEPTION" ON ME.
STILL WAITING FOR AIR BAGS AND NOE MY BRAKE BOOSTER WENT OUT WITHIN A WEEK. I DID FIND THAT THERE WAS A EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR SOME BUT MY VIN NUMBER DID NOT QUALIFY. THIS TO ME IS A LIFE THREATENING. I'VE REPLACED MY ROTORS AND PADS BUT IN ALL 45 YEARS DRIVING, NEVER BRAKE BOOSTER. I'M SURE I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS PROBLEM AS OTHERS HAVE BEEN GIVEN THE EXTENDED WARRANTY COVERAGE. THE FACT THAT THIS IS WAS DONE ON SOME BUT NOT ALL, DOES NOT MAKE SAFETY SENSE TO ME. I ALMOST HIT SOMEONE BUT THANK GOD I HAD BEEN DRIVING A SAFE DISTANCE BACK. AS I STATED, USUALLY SOMEONE HAS HAD TO DIE BEFORE A RECALL IS IN PLACE. I DON'T WANT THAT PERSON TO ME ME.
TRANSMISSION RANGE SENSOR BAD- -ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHILE VEHICLE WAS IN DRIVE, VEHICLE STOPPED MOVING, TWICE ON HIGHWAY (MOVING IN MIDDLE LANE), TWICE ON DOWNHILL EXIT RAMP (STOPPED AT RED LIGHT), AND TWICE ON CITY STREET INCLINE (IN MOTION), YELLOW WRENCH INDICATOR FLICKERED ON AT LEAST TWO OF THESE OCCASIONS WHICH DEALER SAID RECORDED A KNOWN PROBLEM, COST TO REPLACE SENSOR $930.40

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. RIVERTOWN FORD (1680 WHITTLESEY RD, COLUMBUS, GA 31904, (706) 653-7420) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
THE SEATS SHIFT BACKWARD WHEN ACCELERATING AND MOVE FORWARD WHEN BRAKING, THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD. FORD REFUSES TO FIX OUT OF WARRANTY, BUT READING ONLINE THIS IS A VERY COMMON ISSUE.

THAT RECALL COVERS VEHICLES BUILD IN MAY ONWARD. MY VEHICLE WAS BUILD IN MARCH. COVERAGE SHOULD INCLUDE THIS VEHICLE AS WELL AS BRAKE COMPONENT FAILURE IS RECOGNIZED. SYMPTOM OCCURRED WHILE BRAKING ON A HIGHWAY
I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY TO SCHOOL WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE, AS TRAFFIC BEGAN TO SLOW I WENT TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE VEHICLE WOULD SIMPLY NOT SLOW. THE PEDAL LITERALLY WAS DOWN TO THE FLOOR. I LUCKILY HAD PROVIDED MYSELF WITH ENOUGH DISTANCE TO HAVE TIME TO SLOW DOWN AND AVOID AN ACCIDENT. MY BREAKS SOUND LIKE AIR IS FLOWING OUT WHEN I PUSH ON THEM & THE LOCK UP , THIS SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH TONS OF MKX !! SO WHY IS THERE NO RECALL!!!! THE LINCOLN IN QUESTION BELONG TO MY WIFE WHO IS THE TITLE HOLDER OF THE CAR. I WAS USING MY WIFE'S CAR ON 06/14/2018 AND WAS BACKING OUT OF A PARKING AREA AT UNION AND LIBERTY STREET IN MILFORD, MI,I CAME TO THE STREET AT THE END OF THE PARKING AREA, I PUSHED THE BREAK TO STOP SO THAT I COULD CONTINUE ONTO UNION STREET AS SOON I APPLIED THE BREAK, THE CAR ACCELERATED AT HIGH SPEED BACKWARD AND EVEN THOUGH I WAS PRESSING THE BREAK IT DIDN'T STOP UNTIL CRASHING INTO A HOME NEXT TO THE PARKING AREA. THE SPEED OF ACCELERATION WAS SO INTENSE THAT FROM START TO FINISH IT WAS OVER IN A MATTER OF SECONDS.I WAS SO SHOOK UP THAT THAT MY MIND WAS NOT ABLE TO COMPUTE WHAT HAD JUST HAPPENED. THE CAR WAS DAMAGED ON THE PASSENGERS SIDE OF THE CAR, BUT IT TOOK OUT PORCH AND THE WINDOW AREA OF THE HOUSE.THE CAR SHOWED NO DAMAGE THAT WOULD PREVENT IT FROM BEING ABLE TO DRIVE, YET WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE A FEW BLOCKS TO MY HOME, THE POWER STEERING WASN'T WORKING AND THE CAR KEPT STEERING TO THE RIGHT SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. THIS LED ME TO BELIEVE THERE IS SOMETHING WORNG WITH THE ENGINE

THE ISSUE HAS YET YO BE TAKEN CARE OF AND ALMOST TWO YEARS HAS PASSED. THIS IS SOMETHING I BELIEVE TO BE EXTREMELY IMPORTANT ESPECIALLY FOR THE PASSENGER IN MY CAR, WHICH MOST OF THE TIME IS FAMILY. WE RECEIVED A LETTER FROM LINCOLN MOTOR CO. IN DECEMBER 2017 NOTIFYING US OF A POTENTIAL OF AN AIR BAG EXPLOSION IN OUR 2010 MKX. WE WERE TOLD NOT TO ALLOW ANYONE TO SIT IN THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT SEAT UNTIL THE PROBLEM COULD BE REMEDIED. IT'S NOW MARCH 28, 2018 AND I CALLED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE. I WAS TOLD I NEED TO BE PATIENT AND CONTINUE TO LEAVE THE VEHICLE PARKED AND USE A DIFFERENT VEHICLE OR HAVE ANY PASSENGERS RIDE IN THE BACK SEAT BECAUSE THEY STILL DON'T HAVE THE PARTS TO FIX IT. MY QUESTION IS: IF THIS SO CALLED SAFETY DEVICE IS THE SAFETY HAZARD WHICH COULD RESULT IN INJURY OR DEATH, WHY CAN'T IT BE DISCONNECTED OR DISABLED. EXPECTING PEOPLE TO TRAVEL WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO USE THE PASSENGER FRONT SEAT OR USE AN ALTERNATE VEHICLE BECAUSE A SAFETY DEVICE THAT VEHICLES DID WITHOUT FOR OVER 100 YEARS IS THE REAL SAFETY ISSUE IS CERTAINLY A FOOLS SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM.
