Varsity Ford Lincoln is refusing to fix open recalls. My vehicle has been sitting with them for 90 days. Lincoln is refusing to help. Now the dealership in a letter is stating they are not going to fix the open recalls because I have to pay them money to fix my brakes before they'll do that in a text. They are extorting me.
Dealership and Lincoln refusing to repair.
Car is inoperable due to the brake issue and airbag issue. Lincoln refuses to assist with getting it towed or working with the dealership. They will say that they do these things or are trying to help but they do not. This has been going on for 5 years. Dealerships will not fix the vehicle because the vehicle is too old they are telling me. The car is sitting and cannot be driven and nobody will help. I can't sell it I can't drive it I can't use it I can't do anything.

Brakes have failed. Cannot even get to dealership because of this for the repair. Also, airbag light is still on and no repair listed for recall issue.
Brake failure. Brake line leaks. ABS not working. Never notified of recall until search was conducted. We want this fixed.
I believe my car uses Takata Airbags and it has been over a year since the recall was issued. No remedy has been suggested.

The contact stated that the dealer refused to flush the braking system with DOT 4 fluid as per the recall remedy since there was no failure with the braking system. The dealer would only install a new brake fluid reservoir cap. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that since there was no failure with the braking system, the dealer would only install a new brake fluid reservoir cap. They've yet to find a remedy for either of these recalls. I'm complaining because I'd hate for someone to end up hurt before they figure out how to fix this. It's been 2yrs on the brake recall, this is getting rediculous

Car brakes in front of my son, hit the brakes they did not respond pedal went to floor. Car did slow but ended up rear ending car in front of us.

DRIVER SIDE SEAT WORMER WAS ON STARTED SMELLING PLASTIC AND IT STARTED SMOKING ATTACHED IS THE PICTURE OF IT.
MY VEHICLE IS HAVING A DIFFICULT TIME BREAKING. HAVE CHANGED ROTORS AND BREAKS MULTIPLE TIME TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM AS I HAVE ALMOST BEEN IN 3 ACCIDENTS DO TO MY BREAKS SLIPPING. THE SLOPING HAS OCCURRED 2 TIMES WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY ONCE IN OCTOBER 2020 AND THEN AGAIN IN JANUARY 2021 I WAS GOING 63 MILES AN HOUR AND WHEN I WENT TO PRESS ON THE BRAKES DUE TO TRAFFIC APPROACHING THE VEHICLE HAD A HARD TIME COMING TO A STOP. I HAD MY BRAKES AND ROTORS RE-DONE AFTER THE FIRST INCIDENT IN NOVEMBER 2020. FOUND OUT ABOUT THE ABS RECALL AND HAVE CALLED TOYOTA/LINCOLN NUMEROUS TIMES OF THE LAST SIX MONTHS TO INQUIRE ABOUT THE RECALL AND FIXTURE AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THERE IS NO PART OR REMEDY AVAILABLE.I FEEL AS THOUGH MY SAFETY AND MY CHILDREN SAFETY IS A GREAT RISK OF DANGER DUE TO THE AND FIXED SAFETY ISSUE AS WELL AS TOYOTA STILL NOT HAVING A REMEDY TO FIX IT.
PURCHASED A 2007 MKZ IN 2009 W/24K MILES. SINCE PURCHASE DATE, THE VEHICLE HAS HAD AN ELECTRONIC ISSUE WITH THE BRAKING SYSTEM, WHICH IS TRIGGERED ANYTIME THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM IS ACTIVATED WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION OR ATTEMPTING TO STOP SUDDENLY. THE CPU RESPONDS WITH MULTIPLE SIGNALS ACROSS THE DASH, SOMETIMES SHUTTING OFF THE VEHICLE. THE BRAKING SYSTEM AND THE CPU ARE USUALLY RESET WHEN THE VEHICLE IS RESTARTED. VEHICLE HAS BEEN RETURNED TO LINCOLN DEALER FOR SERVICE. TRACTION CONTROL WAS TURNED OFF AND RETURNED TO OWNER. TO MANAGE THIS ISSUE OVER THE YEARS, LINCOLN DEALERSHIP HAS CHARGED OWNER OVER $1000 TO CHANGE BRAKES AND ROTORS WITH PADS AT 40% AND ROTORS HAVE NO DAMAGE. APPARENTLY RESTORING THE PADS AND ROTORS TO NEW RESTORES HYDRAULIC PRESSURE TO BRAKING SYSTEM. AFTER ABS SYSTEM FAILS, BRAKES HAVE LOST ACCEPTABLE HYDRAULIC PRESSURE CAUSING VEHICLE TO TRAVEL WHEN STOPPING AND GRIP SUDDENLY. VEHICLE CAN NO LONGER PERFORM SUDDEN STOPS IN EMERGENCY. VEHICLE IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE.
2007 MKZ PURCHASED IN JANUARY 2009 WITH 25,000MILES HAS ALWAYS HAD ISSUE WITH ABS AND CPU FAILURE WHEN ACTIVATED IN MOTION OR EMERGENCY BRAKING. VEHICLE NOW HAS 96,000 MI IN MARCH 2021. LINCOLN MOTOR CO. HAS ISSUED A RECALL NOTICE#: 19V-904, THIRTEEN YEARS LATER/OCT 2020. THE RECALL IS STILL NOT AVAILABLE WHICH HAS ALLOWED THE VEHICLE TO SUFFER LONG-TERM DAMAGE TO THE BRAKING SYSTEM. LINCOLN DEALERSHIP HAS ATTEMPTED TO MANAGE THE PROBLEM AT OWNER'S EXPENSE OVER THE YEARS BY REPLACING BRAKE PADS, STILL AT 40% AND ROTORS WHICH HAVE NO GROOVING OR WARPING. APPARENTLY, REPLACING THE PADS AND ROTORS ARE RESTORING THE CALIPER SETTINGS AND HYDRAULIC PRESSURE TO THE BRAKING SYSTEM. THIS WAS PERFORMED NUMEROUS TIMES OVER THE 13 YR. PERIOD, APPROX. EVERY 4000MILES, AT +1000$ PER SERVICE. AGAIN, THE VEHICLE TRAVELS WHEN BRAKING AND CANNOT PERFORM EMERGENCY STOPS. THE SOLUTION OFFERED AGAIN, TO CONCEAL THE MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT IS TO REPLACE THE BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS. 13 YEARS IS A DISGRACEFUL AMOUNT OF TIME TO ALLOW AN AUTO MANUFACTURER TO DENY A DEFECT AND AVOID ANY ACCOUNTABILITY.

II AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE AMOUNT OF TIME IT HAS TAKEN FOR MY VEHICLE TO BE EVALUATED FOR POTENTIAL BRAKING PROBLEMS. MY INQUIRY PERTAINS TO AN EXISTING RECALL (19V-904). I RECEIVED A SECOND LETTER FROM LINCOLN YESTERDAY REGARDING THIS MATTER THAT STATES THAT THE PARTS WILL BE AVAILABLE DURING THE FIRST QUARTER OF 2021! CONSIDERING THAT THE RECALL WAS ISSUED IN DECEMBER OF 2019, WHY IS THIS TAKING SO LONG, ESPECIALLY BECAUSE IT INVOLVES POTENTIALLY LONGER BRAKING DISTANCE NEEDED TO BRING THE CAR TO A STOP? I FIND THIS DELAY TO BE UNACCEPTABLE.

2007 LINCOLN MKZ V6. THE WHEEL/RIMS ARE GARBAGE. THEY ARE FALLING APART, CRACKS IN THE METAL, FINISH PEELING, AROUND THE TIRE PIECES OF THE RIM HAS FALLEN OFF. I CAN'T BELIEVE LINCOLN WOULD USE SUCH JUNK. I HAVE TO KEEP CHECKING THE AIR PRESSURE BECAUSE THE WHEELS/RIMS ARE SO TORN UP. I JUST BOUGHT THE CAR TWO WEEKS AGO. The contact stated that after having the rotors replaced, while driving approximately 30 MPH and attempting to stop the vehicle, the brake pedal was depressed and went to the floorboard. The vehicle coasted before coming to a complete stop. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that there was a grinding sound coming from the rear of the vehicle while reversing. Additionally, was a slight delay while shifting gear. The contact also stated that the air bag warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure was persistent during cold weather. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic however, the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed; however, the dealer was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The brake pads and rotors had been replaced approximately 3 to 4 times. The vehicle was returned to the dealer but was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 95,000.

The contact also stated that while driving at various speeds, the brakes would intermittently fail to operate as needed and would depress to the floorboard without warning. The contact then received a second recall notice which stated that parts were now available. The contact called the dealer and despite receiving the letter, he was informed that the parts were still unavailable. I HAVE RECEIVED LETTER FOR RECALL AND LETTER STATING THERE PARTS AVAILABLE FOR THIS RECALL. I CALLED THE NEAREST DEALER AN GAVE MY INFO AND THE RESPONSE WAS THAT THEY HAVE NOT YET RECEIVED PARTS. I ATTEMPTED AGAIN BEING THAT I HAD NOT HEARD FROM THEM AFTER THEM STATING THAT THEY WOULD CALL WHEN PARTS CAME AVAILABLE. IT'S HAS BEEN OVER A YEAR, AN IN THE YEAR I HAVE BEEN IN TWO ACCIDENTS. I NEED THIS ISSUE TO BE FIXED REPLACED OR REFUNDED OF THE CAR VALUE. HEATED SEAT HEATING ELEMENT IS OPEN. IF SOMEONE TURNS THE HEATED SEAT ON, IT COULD CAUSE A SHORT AND CREATE A FIRE IN THE SEAT CUSHION. VEHICLE COULD ME STATIONARY OR MOVING.
WE WAS GOING ON HWY AND THE CAR WENT TO HOT AND WE PULLED OVER STOPPED AND THE CAR STALLED.. COME TO FIND OUT IT IS THE WATER PUMP WE HAD NO SIGN WHEN WE CHECKED THE ENGINE AND THE WATER HAVE MIXED WITH THE OIL CAUSE WATER PUMP IS IN THE ENGINE AND IT WAS NO WAY OF US KNOWING SO THAT SHOULD BE A RECALL ON YOU ALL PART ..ITS NO WAY YOU CAN TELL EXCEPT THE MIXTURE OF OIL AND WATER..I NEED ANSWERS.
WHILE WAITING AT A STOP SIGN, THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME STARTED TO GO. SOMEONE GOING ACROSS TRAFFFIC RAN THE STOP SIGN. THE DRIVER IN FRONT OF ME HIT THE BRAKES TO AVOID COLLISION. BILL WALSH FORD (2900 COLUMBUS ST, OTTAWA, IL 61350) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT PARTS WERE NOT YET AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 145,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
The contact owns a 2007 Lincoln MKZ. The contact stated while driving approximately 30-40 MPH, the brake pedal was depressed, and the vehicle pulled to the left. There was a significant stopping distance delay. The brake warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the failure recurred several times while driving. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic on several occasions, and unknown repairs were completed; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V904000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The vehicle was then taken to the dealer, where the contact was informed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 105,000.
CAR WILL NOT START BECAUSE OF ELECTRICAL COMPUTER AND WHEN IT DOES START THE CAR STALLS WHEN OUT ON THE ROAD OR HIGHWAY PUTTING MY FAMILY OR MYSELF AT RISK OF INJURY OR DEATH. I CALLED LINCOLN HOTLINE AND THEY REFUSED TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR AFTER IT HAD ALREADY BEEN TO A DEALERSHIP FOR DIAGNOSTIC THEY COULDN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS WRONG AND SAID IT WAS FINE THEN WENT TO PICK CAR UP AND IT WOULDN'T START. WHEN HOME TO GET SPARE KEY STILL SAME PROBLEM. I LIVE IN THE COUNTRY AND ALL FORD DEALERSHIPS ARE FAR AWAY FROM ME SO NOT CONVENIENT TO KEEP RUNNING BACK AND FORTH FOR A REPAIR THEY (FORD MOTOR COMPANY SHOULD HAVE TAKEN CARE OF. LET'S BE CLEAR THEY KNOW THERE IS A PROBLEM AND REFUSE TO FIX IT. TALKED TO 2 PEOPLE @ 1 800-241-3673 AND THE FLAT OUT TOLD ME THEY WILL NOT PAY FOR THE REPAIR. I'VE HAD THE CAR STALL IN AN INTERESECTION AND ON THE HIGHWAY SEVERAL TIMES . SOMETIMES I HAVE TO TURN THE KEY SWITCH 30 40 50 60 TIMES OR MORE TO GET IT TO START. THE TSB FROM FORD MOTOR CO. SAYS THAT WHEN CHANGING THE BATTERY IN THE 2007 LINCOLN MKZ IT WILL CAUSE A PROBLEM WITH THE ECM THE BRAIN CAUSING THE PROBLEMS I DESCRIBED. I EVEN TOLD THEM ABOUT STALLING ON THE HIGHWAY AND THEY STILL REFUSE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR. THEY DID FIX MY AIR BAD OUT OF WARRANTY BUT WON'T FIX THIS . I FIND THIS UNACCEPTABLE AND REFUSE TO PAY FOR IT OUT OF MY OWN POCKET. CAN YOU HELP PLEASE AFFECTED CARS WOULD BE 2007 LINCOLN MKZ. MERCURY MILAN AND FORD FUSION. I'M SURE IT NOT AN ISOLATED PROBLEM. WHEN THE CONTACT RETRIEVED THE VEHICLE, THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR WAS STILL ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER EXPLAINED THAT TWO SEAT SENSORS WERE DAMAGED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 41,000.
PASSENGER AIRBAG NOT FUNCTIONAL
USED REMOTE TO START CAR AND AFTER A I GOT IN I SMELLED SMOKE. I LOOKED AROUND AND SEEN SMOKE COMING FROM THE PASSENGER SEAT. I GOT OUT AND OPENED THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR AND SMOKE CAME POURING OUT FROM UNDER THE SEAT. THE HEATING UNIT CAUGHT THE SEAT ON FIRE.
AFTER RECEIVING A LETTER IN THE MAIL REGARDING MY AIRBAG RECALL, I BROUGHT MY VEHICLE INTO WARREN FORD TO HAVE THE AIRBAGS RECALL RESOLVED. WHEN I PICKED UP MY CAR THERE WAS NOW AN AIRBAG LIGHT ON, ON THE DASH. PRIOR TO HAVING ANY WORK DONE THERE WERE NO DASH LIGHTS ON. WARREN FORD INFORMED US UPON REQUEST THAT THERE IS "NOTHING THEY ARE WILLING TO DO." THIS IS AN ISSUE BECAUSE PRIOR TO THE WORK BEING DONE I HAD NO ISSUES AND NOW THERE IS A LIGHT ON SHOWING ME THAT THERE IS SOME TYPE OF SAFETY CONCERN NOW. SINCE THE LIGHT WASN'T ON WHEN WE ORIGINALLY BROUGHT IT TO THE SHOP FOR THE AIRBAG RECALL, THERE MUST HAVE BEEN SOME KIND OF MISTAKE WHILE THEY WERE WORKING ON THE VEHICLE. THE AIRBAG RECALL REALLY HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ISSUE NOW, THE ISSUE NOW IS THAT WARREN FORD SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR NOT FIXING/RESOLVING THE AIRBAG LIGHT ISSUE THAT IS ONLY ON SINCE THEY COMPLETED THE AIRBAG REPLACEMENT. THIS RECALL WORK WAS COMPLETED AROUND DECEMBER OF 2018. WARREN FORD STATED IT WAS NOT A LIFE THREATENING CONCERN AND TOLD US TO BRING THE CAR BACK AS SOON AS IT WAS CONVENIENT TO HAVE THEM RESOLVE THE LIGHT ISSUE. THEN WHEN WE BROUGHT THE CAR BACK THATS WHEN THEY SAID THERES NOTHING TO BE DONE AND THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE TO DO THE WORK.
THE HEATING ELEMENT IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT IS KNOWN TO GO BAD IN THE 2007 MODELS AND I THINK SOME 2008 FORD MODELS VEHICLE ALSO. WHEN I PUSH THE ELECTRIC HEAT SEAT BUTTON IT WILL TURN RED FOR A MINUTE BUT THE HEATING ELEMENT WILL NOT WORK IN THE BACK OR IN THE SEAT AREA OF THE DRIVER'S SIDE. OTHER PEOPLE I KNOW HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THEIR FORD SAME HERE DIFFERENT MODEL AND MAKE AND HAVE FOUND THE SOLUTION TO BE A NEW WIRING HARNESS / CONNECTOR TO REPLACE THE FACTORY ONE APPARENTLY ONE OF THE WIRES BURNT OUT FROM THE FACTORY CAUSING IT TO SHORT. ARE VIDEOS OF THIS ON YOUTUBE THANK YOU FOR ANY AND ALL HELP. IT STARTED BY GETTING EXTREMELY HOT AND TURNING OFF REALLY QUICK ON ITS OWN AND EVERY TIME AFTER THAT TURNING OFF QUICKER AND QUICKER UNTIL IT WOULD NOT TURN BACK ON ONLY SHOW THE RED LIGHT FOR A BRIEF MINUTE.......... I HAVE ENCLOSED PICTURES INFORMATION FOR THE AIRBAGS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE THAT ARE SUGGESTED TO BE REPLACED AGAIN ANY HELP IN RESOLVING THESE PROBLEMS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATE IT THANK YOU FOR THE TIME.
WHEN THE WHEEL SPEED SENSOR WENT BAD THE CAR WENT INTO LIMP MODE AS I WAS ENTERING THE ROAD FROM A PARKING LOT. I NARROWLY MISSED GETTING HIT. VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
TAKATA RECALL I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR AIRBAG RECALL. WHEN I RECEIVED MY VEHICLE BACK, THE AIRBAG LIGHT WAS ON. THEY CLAIMED THAT THEY DID NOT GO NEAR ANYTHING THAT WOULD CAUSE THE AIRBAG LIGHT TO COME ON AND THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE IT DIAGNOSED.

TAKATA RECALL - AT FIRST I WAS TOLD FRONT PASSENGER SEAT ONLY SHOULD NOT BE USED; NOW LATEST RECALL NOTICE SAYS DANGEROUS FOR DRIVER AND PASSENGER BECAUSE DEPLOYMENT OF AIR BAG COULD CAUSE METAL DEBRIS TO SPRAY OCCUPANTS. THEREFORE, I CANNOT DRIVE AND I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET A RENTAL CAR FROM DEALER. I NEED ASSISTANCE BECAUSE OF MY DOCTOR APPOINTMENTS.
