WHILE DRIVING OUR CX-7 STOPPED RUNNING RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD, WE HAVE FOUND OUT THAT IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH MAZDA CX-7 VVT PIN/TIMING CHAIN BREAKING. WE WERE ABLE TO GET THE CAR STOPPED, BUT IT WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RODE AND WAS A HAZARD NOT ONLY TO OUR CAR, BUT OTHER CARS COMING UP BEHIND US. WE WERE UNABLE TO MOVE THE CAR AND HAD TO WAIT FOR A TOW TRUCK. OF COURSE, MAZDA WON'T DO ANYTHING TO REMEDY THE SITUATION BECAUSE THE WARRANTY HAS PASSED...EVEN THOUGH THEY KNEW THE PROBLEM EXISTED IN 2009. SOMEONE WILL GET KILLED ONE DAY. *TR
ON MAY 18TH I TOOK MY CAR TO THE MAZDA DEALER IN NJ FOR A TIMING BELT RECALL AND WAS REPLACED. ON MAY 28TH DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY THE A/C STOPPED WORKING, THE WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON AND IMMEDIATELY THE CAR STALLED. I THEN HAD IT TOWED TO THE SAME MAZDA DEALER. THE NEXT DAY THEY TOLD ME THAT MY ENGINE WAS BLOWN AND IT WAS GOING TO COST ME $7,476.79.I HAVE ALWAYS SERVICED MY CAR EVERY 3,000 MILES, MY CAR IS ONLY 6 YEARS OLD AND ONLY HAS 57,040 MILES. I TOOK IT TO AN ENGINE EXPERT AND TOLD ME THAT THE ENGINE WAS DEFECTIVE. MAZDA SHOULD RECALL ALL CX7S FROM 2007. IT IS OBVIOUS THAT ALL OF THEM CAME OUT WITH A DEFECT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 MAZDA CX7. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS FOUND THAT THE VVT TIMING CHAIN HAD FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THE TURBO HAD FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,800.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 MAZDA CX-7. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE PULLING OUT OF HER DRIVEWAY AND ATTEMPTING TO DRIVE, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE DIAGNOSIS WAS THAT THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
PURCHASED 2007 MAZDA CX-7 WITH 65,000 MILES. AT THE TIME WAS TOLD IT HAD A NEW TURBO. HAD THE VEHICLE 2 MONTHS AND THE ERG VALVE DIED (TECHNICIAN STATED THEY SHOULD LAST 100K MILES) WAS REPLACED AT MY COST OF $850. WHEN REPLACING THE ERG VALVE THEY ALSO NOTICED A WORN TUBE THAT WILL COST AN ADDITIONAL $180 AT MY COST. THEY ALSO NOTICED THE NEW TURBO WAS SMOKING AND THIS WAS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY COVERAGE FROM MAZDA TO 70K MILES (I WAS AT 68,5000). THEY ARE ADDING A WHOLE NEW PCV VENT KIT AT DEALER EXPENSE). NOW I AM HEARING A LOUD TICKING NOISE WHENEVER I TURN ON THE A/C WHICH COULD BE EITHER THE VVT TIMING CHAIN OR THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM. BOTH ARE KNOWN DEFECTS OF 2007 CX-7'S AND WILL COST ABOUT $1,000 TO FIX FOR EACH ISSUE. THE TIMING CHAIN IS COVERED UNTIL 70K MILES SO I'M TRYING TO GET THIS FIXED BY THE DEALERSHIP NOW BEFORE I RUN OUT OF WARRANTY. HOWEVER, THE AC ISSUES WERE ONLY COVERED TO 60 K MILES AND I AM BEYOND THAT COVERAGE SO I WILL HAVE TO FIX THAT AT MY COST. IF YOU DO A QUICK GOOGLE SEARCH YOU WILL SEE EXTENSIVE DOCUMENTATION OF THESE SAME ISSUES AMONGST MANY MAZDA OWNERS. MAZDA REFUSES TO RECALL SUCH PARTS AND ONLY THIS YEAR (4-5 YEARS LATER) DID THEY EXTEND WARRANTY COVERAGE ON SOME KNOWN DEFECTS KNOWING THAT MOST PEOPLE WOULD BE BEYOND THE WARRANTY LIMIT OF 60/70K MILES. THERE ARE MANY REPORTS OF ENGINES SEIZING DUE TO THE AC AND TIMING CHAIN ISSUE. I AM QUITE FRANKLY TERRIFIED TO DRIVE THIS CAR AND SEEKING A VERY COMPREHENSIVE EXTENDED WARRANTY TO HOLD ME OVER UNTIL I CAN TRADE IT IN AND GET SOMETHING RELIABLE! I WORK FOR A CAR DEALERSHIP SO I KNOW THAT THESE ISSUES ARE LEGITIMATE WITH THIS VEHICLE. *TR
VVT AND TIMING CHAIN REPLACEMENT NEEDED MAZDA KNEW THESE TO BE DEFECTIVE PARTS BUT ONLY ISSUED WARNING TO ME JUST THIS MONTH AND NOW THAT IM OVER THE MILEAGE I HAVE TO PAY FOR COST OF REPLACING BOTH ... WE HAVE A MAZDA CX7, 2007, THAT WE PURCHASED BRAND NEW IN APRIL 2007. WE HAVE HAD ALL OIL, FILTER AND OTHER SERVICES BY OUR LOCAL MAZDA DEALERSHIP IN ACCORDANCE TO MAZDA GUIDELINES. RECENTLY WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH DOWN INTERSTATE 81 WITH OUR 10 YEAR OLD SON IN THE CAR, OUR MAZDA STOPPED WORKING. LUCKY FOR US WE WERE ABLE TO GET OFF OF THE ROAD AND CALL A TOW TRUCK, WHO TOOK US TO A LOCAL MAZDA DEALERSHIP WHERE WE HAD TO LEAVE THE CAR UNTIL MONDAY (IT WAS A SATURDAY AFTERNOON) AND FIND OTHER MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION HOME (70 MILES AWAY) ON MONDAY MORNING MY HUSBAND RECEIVED A CALL FROM MAZDA STATING THAT OUR VVT PLUG CAME APART CAUSING THE ENGINE TO JUMP TIME AND THAT WE COULD PAY TO HAVE A VVA KIT ORDERED AND INSTALLED TO SEE IF IT WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM, AT A COST OF $1300, BUT THIS MAY NOT FIX THE PROBLEM BECAUSE DUE TO THE PLUG COMING APART OUR ENGINE LOST COMPRESSION. AND IF THIS WAS THE CASE, WE WOULD BE OUT THE $1300 AND IT WOULD COST AN ADDITIONAL $7950 FOR THEM TO REPLACE THE ENGINE. WHEN WE QUESTIONED THEM ABOUT THE "SERVICE BULLETIN" RELEASED RE: THE PROBLEMS THEY WERE HAVING WITH THIS VVT THEY SAID THAT THEY REALLY COULDN'T HELP US WITH THIS.... OUR CAR WAS OVER IN THE MILEAGE... WELL TO ME A PROBLEM THEY RECOGNIZE AND ADMIT TO THEY SHOULD TAKE CARE OF NO MATTER WHAT.. HAD WE HAVE KNOW OF THIS PENDING PROBLEM, WE WOULD HAVE OPTED TO HAVE THIS KIT REPLACED LONG AGO AND GLADLY PAID THE $1300 INSTEAD OF BEING OUT A CAR, THAT WE REALLY HAVE ENJOYED, AND NOW LOOKING FOR SOMEONE TO REPLACE AN ENGINE!! OH AND BY THE WAY.. DON"T LET MAZDA DO THIS FOR YOU!! IT IS MUCH CHEAPER TO HAVE YOUR ENGINE REBUILT AND REPLACED BY AN OUTSIDE SOURCE. WE HAVE CONTACTED A MACHINE SHOP IN VIRGINIA WHO WILL PAY SHIPPING AND DO THIS FOR US FOR $3000 AND WE HAVE A LOCAL MECHANIC THAT WILL DO THE WORK FOR $1000 OH AND THEY GIVE YOU A 5 YEAR WARRANTY!! MAZDA NEEDS TO BE RESPONSIBLE. *TR
WHILE DRIVING, HEARD A NOISE COMING FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE, SOME SMELL COMING FROM THAT DIRECTION AS WELL. LOST POWER TO THE VEHICLE, TURNED OFF THE ROAD AND NOTICE THAT THERE WAS SMOKE COMING FROM THE A/C COMPRESSOR. *JS
AFTER OWNING OUR 2007 MAZDA CX-7 FOR OVER 5 YEARS, WE RECEIVED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY NOTICE THAT THE TIMING CHAIN WAS DEFECTIVE AND AT RISK OF BREAKING. HAVING NOTICED A SLIGHT TICKING NOISE ALREADY, WE IMMEDIATELY TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED. THEY EXAMINED IT AND NOTIFIED US THAT EVEN THOUGH OUR CAR WAS 5 YEARS OLD AND AT RISK OF FAILURE DUE TO A FACTORY DEFECTIVE PART, THE WARRANTY WAS ONLY EXTENDED TO 70,000 MILES AND MAZDA WOULD NOT COVER ANY COSTS SINCE OUR ODOMETER WAS AT 80,000. I WENT HOME, DID SOME ONLINE RESEARCH, AND DISCOVERED THAT OUR YEAR AND MAKE OF VEHICLE ALSO HAD A TSB FROM MAZDA FOR A DEFECTIVE TIMING VVT ACTUATOR THAT COULD CAUSE THE SAME CLICKING SOUND. WE HAD NEVER BEEN NOTIFIED OF THIS BY MAZDA OR THE DEALERSHIP. I CALLED MAZDA CUSTOMER CARE IMMEDIATELY AND THEY ASSURED ME THAT THE TIMING CHAIN WAS THE SOURCE OF THE CLICKING NOISE. TWO WEEKS LATER THE VVT ACTUATOR IN QUESTION DID FAIL. MAZDA ASSUMED LIABILITY AND REPLACED THE DEFECTIVE VVT ASSEMBLY AND TIMING CHAIN, BUT REFUSE TO COVER ANY OF THE COSTS TO REPAIR THE SEVERE DAMAGE CAUSED TO OUR ENGINE AS THE DIRECT RESULT OF THIS PART FAILURE. *TR
MY 2007 MAZDA CX-7 STARTING MAKING A POPPING NOISE AND BEGAN LOSING POWER ON APRIL 13, 2012. I DROVE MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT THE TIMING CHAIN AND TURBO CHARGER ARE BAD AND NEED TO BE REPLACED. MY CAR HAS 80,477 MILES ON IT AND THEREFORE, NOTHING IS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AND I CANNOT PRODUCE ALL OIL CHANGE RECEIPTS. THUS, IT IS GOING TO COSTS ME $3,000 TO GET FIXED. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN MAZDA FOR NOT FIXING A DEFECT THAT THEY ARE CLEARLY AWARE OF, REGARDLESS OF THE MILEAGE! I NEVER RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER AND I HAVE BEEN A LOYAL MAZDA CUSTOMER, PURCHASING 5 MAZDA'S OVER THE LAST 12 YEARS! I TRAVEL WITH MY JOB SO I DO PUT A LOT OF MILES ON A VEHICLE (AVERAGING 2,000 MILES PER MONTH) BUT I FIND IT UTTERLY RIDICULOUS THAT A CAR HAS MAJOR DEFECTS AT 80,000 MILES! PLEASE HELP AND STOP MAZDA FROM TAKING ADVANTAGE OF CONSUMERS! *JS
I WAS HEADING WEST OUT OF DENVER ON INTERSTATE 70 WHEN MY CAR COMPLETELY FAILED AND THE ENGINE SHUT OFF. I WAS IN THE LEFT (PASSING) LANE AND WAS FORTUNATELY ABLE TO PULL INTO THE MEDIAN TO AVOID A CRASH AT HIGH SPEEDS. MY FOUR-MONTH OLD SON WAS IN THE BACK SEAT SO I WAS SHAKEN AND FRIGHTENED FOR HIS SAFETY, AND UNABLE TO RE-START THE VEHICLE. WE WERE STRANDED THERE FOR AN HOUR WAITING FOR A TOW-TRUCK WITH OTHER CARS PUSHING PAST US AT VERY HIGH SPEEDS. TO ADD INSULT TO INJURY, THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE FOR THIS MAKE AND MODEL OF MAZDA. THE COMPANY DOES NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR VEHICLES--INSTEAD THEY ARE DISCONTINUING THE CX-7 B/C OF IT'S POOR ENGINEERING. THEY ALSO OFFERED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR THIS ISSUE (UP TO 70,000 MILES SO MY CAR IS NOT COVERED.) IF THEY WERE A RESPONSIBLE COMPANY THEY SHOULD ISSUE A TOTAL RECALL OF THIS VEHICLE IN ORDER TO REPLACE THE TIMING CHAINS. OTHER PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR IN THE SHORT TIME I HAD IT (BOUGHT IT AT 53,000 AND IT HAS A DEAD ENGINE AT ONLY 76,000) -MYSTERIOUS ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS CAUSING ALL GAUGES TO GO HAYWIRE WHEN I ACCELERATED OR TURNED -LEAKING VALVES IN THE TRANSMISSION (JUST PAID $800 TO HAVE THAT REPAIRED IN OCTOBER) -FAULTY AIR CONDITIONING COMPRESSOR (ALSO EXTENDED WARRANTY) BASICALLY, THIS CAR IS A TOTAL LEMON. IF YOU HAVE ONE THAT STILL RUNS--BEWARE! IF I HAD BEEN 2 MILES FARTHER DOWN THE FREEWAY I WOULD HAVE HAD NO WHERE TO PULL OVER AND WOULD HAVE BEEN STALLED DEAD ON THE FREEWAY IN HEAVY TRAFFIC... WITH YOUNG SON IN THE BACK SEAT. *TR
MAZDA SENT INFORMATION REGARDING AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR THE VVT ACTUATOR/TIMING CHAIN FOR 70,000 MILES OR 7 YEARS OF AGE. I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE, LITERALLY DAYS AFTER RECEIVING THIS MAILING, AND WAS INFORMED THAT I NEEDED THIS REPAIRED ON MY VEHICLE. MY CAR WAS AROUND 15,000 MILES OVER THE LIMIT BUT WITHIN THE 7 YEAR TIME FRAME. AFTER CALLING THE CUSTOMER SERVICE LINE, MAZDA INSISTED THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO SINCE I WAS OVER THE MILEAGE CAP. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A DEFECT NO MATTER HOW MANY MILES ARE ON THE VEHICLE. TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM, I WILL HAVE TO PAY OVER $1,500. WHY DID IT TAKE SO LONG TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS? A REPUTABLE COMPANY WOULD FIX THIS DEFECT ON ALL VEHICLES AFFECTED. *TR
THE TIMING CHAIN IN THIS VEHICLE BROKE WHILE UNDER POWER. WE RECENTLY RECEIVED A VOLUNTARY WARRANTY EXTENSION NOTICE (MAZDA CALLS IT A SPECIAL SERVICE PROGRAM) THAT INDICATED THERE MAY BE A PROBLEM WITH THE ENGINE IN THE VEHICLE, SPECIFICALLY ELEMENTS RELATED TO THE TIMING CHAIN AND VARIABLE VALVE TIMING. OUR CAR ALWAYS RATTLED AT STARTUP FROM THE DAY WE BOUGHT IT, THAT WAS OUR NORMAL EXPERIENCE AND EXPECTATION FOR WHAT THE CAR WAS SUPPOSED TO SOUND LIKE. WE NEVER KNEW THIS WAS A PROBLEM UNTIL A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO, AND COME TO FIND OUT, OUR CAR HAD PASSED THE EXTENDED COVERAGE PERIOD PROVIDED BY MAZDA ANYWAY. IT IS AND WILL BE OUR CONTENTION THAT THERE IS A SERIOUS DESIGN FLAW IN THE MOTOR OF THIS VEHICLE. WHILE OUR EXPERIENCE IS THAT THE CAR FAILED AT 83K MILES, MANY HAVE FAILED SOONER, AND OTHER MAZDA PRODUCTS USING THE SAME MOTOR ARE AFFECTED (L3T ENGINE, ALSO IN THE SPEED 6 AND THE SPEED 3) IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT THE SERVICE INTERVAL FOR THE TIMING CHAIN HAD NOT BEEN REACHED. MAZDA PUBLISHED A TSB ON THIS PROBLEM IN 2009 OR THEREABOUTS, BUT NEVER CONTACTED IT'S CUSTOMERS DIRECTLY TO INDICATE THAT SERVICE MAY BE REQUIRED. IT IS TIME FOR THE NTSB TO GET A RECALL NOTICE ISSUED AND PUT THIS ISSUE TO BED ONCE AND FOR ALL, BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED. *TR
OUR 2007 MAZDA CX7 SUDDENLY LOST POWER AND I WAS FORCED TO STOP THE VEHICLE IN THE CENTER MEDIAN OF THE HIGHWAY, AS I WAS UNABLE TO MOVE TO THE RIGHT DUE TO OTHER TRAFFIC. VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE PROBLEM WAS DIAGNOSED AS A BROKEN PIN ON THE VARIABLE VALVE TIME ACTUATOR (VVT). THERE WAS NO PRIOR INDICATION OF A PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE (NO WARNING LIGHTS) PRIOR TO THE ENGINE STOPPING. DEALERSHIP HAS INDICATED THAT COMPLETE ENGINE REPLACEMENT IS RECOMMENDED BY MAZDA. CURRENTLY THE VEHICLE IS AWAITING ARRIVAL OF AN ADJUSTER FROM EXTENDED WARRANTY COMPANY TO SEE IF REPAIRS/REPLACEMENT WILL BE COVERED. ADDITIONAL ONLINE RESEARCH HAS INDICATED THAT THIS IS A WELL-DOCUMENT AND FREQUENTLY OCCURRING PROBLEM WITH THIS MAKE/MODEL OF VEHICLE, YET MANUFACTURER HAS NEGLECTED TO INITIATE A FULL RECALL. RATHER THEY ISSUED A "SERVICE BULLETIN" (#01-002/08) THAT ADDRESSES A VVT NOISE WHEN STARTING ENGINE. BULLETIN STATES "SOME VEHICLES MAY EXHIBIT A LOUD TICKING NOISE FROM THE VARIABLE VALVE TIMING. (VVT) THIS IS CAUSED BY THE LOCK PIN OF THE VARIABLE VALVE TIMING ACTUATOR NOT FULLY ENGAGING. HEAT TREATMENT HAS NOW BEEN ADDED AROUND THE HOLE OF THE VARIABLE VALVE TIMING ROTOR LOCK TO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING." IT IS BELIEVED THAT HAD MY VEHICLE EXHIBITED ANY SYMPTOMS, I COULD HAVE HAD THE SERVICE BULLETIN REPAIRS MADE, AND THE ENGINE FAILURE DUE TO THE BROKEN PIN WOULD HAVE MOST LIKELY BEEN AVOIDED. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL, AND NOT ADDRESSED BY A SERVICE BULLETIN. THERE IS STRONG EVIDENCE, AS DISCOVERED VIA THE INTERNET, THAT MULTIPLE CX7 VEHICLES HAVE HAD THIS EXACT SAME TYPE OF FAILURE WHERE THE VEHICLE HAS SUDDENLY STOPPED RUNNING WHILE BEING DRIVEN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THIS CONSTITUTES AN EXTREME SAFETY HAZARD THAT COULD POSSIBLY RESULT IN SERIOUS PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH. *TR
I HAVE ONLY OWNED MY MAZDA CX-7 FOR 6 MONTHS BEFORE THE TURBO WENT ON MY CAR. THE ENGINE LOST POWER. THE MAZDA DEALER REPORTED SLUDGE BUILD UP AND AS A RESULT THE TURBO FAILED. NO ONE WILL COVER THE WORK AS I LACK APPROPRIATE MAINTENANCE RECORDS ON THE CAR (SINCE I'VE ONLY OWNED IT LONG ENOUGH TO MAKE 5 MAPYMENTS). *TR
AFTER SIX MONTHS, WE BEGAN TO HAVE MECHANICAL ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE. A DIESEL-SOUNDING CHUG COMING FROM THE ENGINE SEEMED OFF FOR AN UNLEADED FOUR-CYLINDER SUV. THE COMMON ISSUE SEEMED TO BE A PART CALLED A VVT ACTUATOR. NO RECALLS OR SERVICE ADVISORIES HAD BEEN ISSUED FOR ENGINE PARTS AT THIS TIME. HOWEVER, IN JANUARY 2012, AN ENTIRE HALF-DECADE AFTER THE VEHICLE ROLLED OFF THE ASSEMBLY LINE, WE RECEIVED A 'VARIABLE VALVE TIMING NOISE AND TIMING CHAIN NOISE WARRANTY EXTENSION' NOTICE BY MAIL FROM MAZDA. A MONTH OR SO AFTER WE RECEIVED THE NOTICE, THE VEHICLE BEGAN LEAKING OIL. WE TOOK OUR VEHICLE INTO A ROGER BEASLEY MAZDA CENTER AND HAD IT EXAMINED. THE OIL COOLER ON THE VEHICLE WAS BEGINNING TO FAIL. WE EXPLAINED THE NOTICE THAT WE RECEIVED IN THE MAIL AND THEY WERE ALREADY WELL AWARE OF THESE ISSUES. WE WERE TOLD THE ENGINE HAD ENGINE SLUDGE AND WITH IT BEING A SECOND-OWNER VEHICLE, WE DID NOT HAVE THE DOCUMENTATION TO PROVE THAT REGULAR OIL CHANGES HAD BEEN PERFORMED. INSTEAD, ALL REPAIRS AND REPLACEMENTS WOULD COME FROM OUR OWN POCKETS. THE RESULT ENDED UP BEING A NEED TO REPLACE THE VVT ACTUATOR, THE TIMING CHAIN, THE OIL COOLER, AND REPLACING ALL OF THE GASKETS. WE DROVE OFF THE LOT AND HOPED THAT THE PROBLEMS HAD BEEN SOLVED. WITHIN TWO MONTHS OF THE REPAIRS, THE ENGINE BEGAN MAKING A HIGH-PITCHED WHINING NOISE. MY WIFE CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP THAT DAY WHILE AT WORK AND THEY SAID TO BRING IT IN. ON THE WAY TO THE DEALERSHIP, WHICH IS LESS THAN TEN MILES AWAY, THE VEHICLE DIED ON THE FREEWAY. THIS ENDED UP BEING THE RESULT OF A BLOWN TURBOCHARGER. AGAIN, WE HAD TO TAKE MONEY FROM OUR NEST EGG TO REPLACE YET ANOTHER PART ON THIS VEHICLE. *TR
RECEIVED WARRANTY EXTENSION PROGRAM SSP87 LETTER TO HANDLE VARIABLE VALUE TIMING ACTUATOR FIX. EXTENDS WARRANTY TO 84 MONTHS OR 70000 MILES. MY CAR HAS 74,000 MILES AND HAS SYMPTOMS DESCRIBED IN SSP. WAS TOLD BY BOTH THE DEALER ( TURNERSVILLE MAZDA IN TURNERSVILLE NJ ) AND MAZDA NORTH AMERICA THAT NOTHING COULD BE DONE TO HELP ME. I OFFERED TO PAY PART OF THE REPAIR IF THEY WOULD WORK WITH ME, BOTH DEALER AND MAZDA NA HAD NO INTEREST. CARE DOES FUNCTION OK NOW BUT I WILL NOT DRIVE IT ANYMORE UNTIL I CAN GET IT FIXED. ON 2/11/2012 WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT A SPEED OF 70 MILES PER HOUR MY MAZDA CX-7'S ENGINE LOST ALL POWER. LUCKILY WE WERE ABLE TO AVOID HAVING AN ACCIDENT AND MAKE IT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH FAILURE OF THE TURBO SYSTEM AND TIMING CHAIN (A VERY SERIOUS AND RECURRING PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL). MAZDA HAS EXTENDED THEIR WARRANTIES BUT IS DENYING CLAIM CITING OIL SLUDGE BUILDUP EVEN THOUGH THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN PROPERLY MAINTAINED PER THE OWNER'S MANUAL. MAZDA IS DENYING FAULT WITH THE ENGINE AND SADDLING ME WITH A BILL OF OVER THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS TO FIX IT. THE VEHICLE IS LESS THAN SIX YEARS OLD AND ONLY HAS APPROXIMATELY 56,000 MILES ON IT. WHEN OUR MAZDA CX-7 2007 REACHED 45000 MILES, THE AIR BAG WITNESS LIGHT STARTED TURNING ON AND OFF RANDOMLY, IF I TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE AND STARTED IT AGAIN, IT SOMETIMES WENT OFF. THE 2.3 LITER 4 CYLINDER L3T ENGINE THAT IS IN MY WIFE'S 2007 MAZDA CX-7 HAS A BAD VARIABLE VALVE TIMING ACTUATOR WHICH WAS VERIFIED TODAY BY DUAL MAZDA OF JACKSONVILLE FLORIDA. A WARRANTY EXTENSION WAS ISSUED BY MAZDA AROUND THE 14TH OF JANUARY 2012 FOLLOWING THE INITIAL TSB (TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN) DATE 23 FEBRUARY 2011. MY CONCERN IS NOT THAT MAZDA HAS ACKNOWLEDGED AN INTERNAL ENGINE PART AS BEING FAULTY, BUT THAT THE PART STATED IN THE WARRANTY EXTENSION COULD POSSIBLY MAKE THE TIMING CHAIN GO BAD. MAZDA DID NOT COVER HOW, WHEN, WHAT RPM RANGE, ENGINE LOAD, OR MOST IMPORTANTLY WHAT SPEED THIS MIGHT HAPPEN IF THE ACTUATOR IS NOT REPLACED. THE LAST THING ANYONE WANTS IS THEIR ENGINE TIMING GOING OUT...AT ANY SPEED OR AT ANYTIME WHILE MOVING IN A MOTOR VEHICLE, CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE WILL SURELY FOLLOW. I FEEL THAT THESE FAULTY VARIABLE VALVE TIMING ACTUATORS ARE AN INTEGRAL PART OF MAKING THIS ENGINE RUN SAFELY AND ULTIMATELY THE CAR OVERALL AND SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO BEFORE ITS AN ACTUAL INCIDENT. *TR

THE MANUFACTURER MAILED A NOTIFICATION, WHICH INDICATED THAT THE REPLACEMENT OF THE VARIABLE VALVE TIMING WOULD BE FREE OF CHARGE; HOWEVER THE VEHICLE WAS INELIGIBLE BECAUSE IT EXCEEDED THE 70,000 MILEAGE REQUIREMENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.

TWICE IN THE PAST 9 MONTHS, THE VEHICLE LOST COMPLETE POWER. I ASKED MAZDA TO CHECK THE VEHICLE AND THEY STATED THAT IT WAS COMMON, NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT. IN JANUARY OF 2012, I RECEIVED A SAFETY NOTICE FROM MAZDA IN REGARDS TO A POSSIBLE DEFECT PART, V.V.T. COMPONENT AND A LOOSE TIMING CHAIN. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THE MAZDA DEALERSHIP, WHO ADVISED ME THAT MY VEHICLE CONTAINED THIS DEFECTIVE PART, BUT STATED THAT THEY WERE NOT GOING TO REPAIR THE DEFECTIVE COMPONENT DUE TO THE LACK OF RECEIPTS FOR OIL CHANGES AND OTHER MAINTENANCE RECORDS. THE REASON FOR THE LACK OF RECEIPTS IS BECAUSE MY BROTHER-IN-LAW, WHO IS A MECHANIC, PERFORMED THE OIL CHANGES AND OTHER MAINTENANCE WORK TO THE VEHICLE. I ASKED MAZDA IF THE DEFECTIVE PART COULD BE HAZARDOUS AND THEY ADVISED ME IT WAS NOT HARZARDOUS OR DANGEROUS. APPROX. 3 WEEKS AGO, MY WIFE ORDERED THE NECESSARY PARTS AND PAID FOR THEM IN FULL. AFTER 3 WEEKS, I WAS ADVISED THAT THE PARTS OR NOT AVAILABLE. AFTER READING NUMEROUS WEBSITES AND COMPLAINTS FROM CX-7 OWNERS, THIS IS HAPPENING ACROSS THE COUNTRY. I FURTHER READ THAT IF THE V.V.T. COMPONENT FAILS WHILE THE VEHICLE IS BEING OPERATED, THE ENGINE WILL IMMEDIATELY CEASE, POSSIBLY CAUSING THE OPERATOR THE INABILITY TO SAFELY MANVEUR THE VEHICLE OFF THE ROADWAY. AFTER RESEARCHING ISSUE, THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM IN MAZDA CX7'S, AND ENGINE FAILURE HAS BEEN REPORTED IN OVER 2000 CASES. VVT ACTUATOR BROKE WHILE WE WERE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. AFTER INSPECTING WE REALIZED THE BROKEN PART CAUSED EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO THE MOTOR CAUSING A COMPLETE MOTOR REPLACEMENT NECESSARY. WE CONTACTED THE MAZDA DEALER IN OUR AREA WHO TOLD US MAZDA WAS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM WITH 2007 CX-7 AND ARE IGNORING THE PROBLEM, THEY TOLD US IT WASN'T WORTH FIXING. WE PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE A YEAR AGO AND STILL OWE A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF MONEY, NOW WE CAN'T TRADE IT OFF AND ARE HAVING TO PAY PAYMENTS ON A DEFECTIVE VEHICLE. MAZDA RECENTLY VOLUNTARILY EXTENDED THE WARRANTY TO COVER THIS DEFECTIVE PART BUT PUT THE CUTOFF AT 70,000 MILES, THE THING DOESN'T BREAK UNTIL APPROXIMATELY 80,000 OR MORE. ON 12/19/11, I WAS DRIVING APPX. 60 - 65 MPH ON I-81 WHEN MY 2007 MAZDA CX-7 JUST SHUT OFF. I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC ON THE INTERSTATE, WITH A LARGE TRACTOR TRAILER BEHIND ME, BUT I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY MANEUVER MY CAR ONTO THE SHOULDER OF THE INTERSTATE. MY CAR WOULD NOT START AGAIN. I DID QUITE A BIT OF RESEARCH ON LINE REGARDING THIS PARTICULAR ISSUE AND FOUND A SIGNIFICANT NUMBER OF CLAIMS FROM OTHER PEOPLE THAT HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM HAPPEN TO THEIR 2007 MAZDA CX7. THE FINAL DIAGNOSIS IS TOTAL ENGINE FAILURE WITH A PRICE TAG OF $7200 TO FIX. THAT WOULD BE FOR A WHOLE NEW ENGINE. I FOUND A SERVICE BULLETIN FROM JANUARY OF 2008 THAT CORPORATE MAZDA SENT OUT TO THEIR DEALERS RE: A PROBLEM WITH THE TIMING CHAIN. THE BULLETIN SPECIFICALLY IDENTIFIES A SERIES OF VIN#'S AFFECTED, AND MINE FALLS INTO THE CATEGORY. THERE IS CURRENTLY ABOUT 65K MILES ON MY CAR (I CAN'T REMEMBER EXACTLY), AND I DID NOT BUY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY BECAUSE WHO WOULD THINK THAT A 2007 VEHICLE WOULD NEED A NEW ENGINE @ 65K MILES? I THINK I SHOULD'VE BEEN NOTIFIED THAT THERE WAS AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH THIS PARTICULAR MODEL AND YEAR. BOTH MAZDA AND THE DEALERSHIP ARE TELLING ME THEY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING FOR ME, BECAUSE THE VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY. MAZDA NEEDS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY HERE. BOUGHT CAR 4 MONTHS AGO, 61K MILES, AT 64K MILES CAR TURNED OFF ON HIGHWAY, HAD THE CAR TOWED TO DEALERSHIP WHERE PURCHASED AND THE TIMING CHAIN BROKE, AND NOW CAR NEEDS A NEW ENGINE AT 64K MILES AND MAZDA WILL NOT COVER DUE TO OUT OF WARRANTY. *KB
DEALERSHIP MAINTAINED CX-7 EXPERIENCED MAJOR FAILURE WHILE DRIVING. ENGINE DIED AND MAJOR OIL LEAK WAS NOTICED. CAR HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP FIRST INDICATED THAT THERE WAS SOME TYPE OF FAILURE REGARDING THE #3 CYLINDER. DEALERSHIP SAID THAT THE PROBABLE CAUSE OF FAILURE WAS DUE TO TURBO OVERHEATING. LATER THE DEALERSHIP STATED THAT THE #4 PISTON FAILED AND CAUSED CATASTROPHIC DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE. THE CAUSE OF FAILURE WAS NEVER DETERMINED. THE ENGINE, TURBOCHARGER, THERMOSTAT, EGR VALVE, INTAKE MANIFOLD, STARTER AND O2 SENSOR WERE REPLACED. TOTAL COST OF REPAIRS (LABOR, PARTS, AND MISC CHARGES) PRIOR TO TAX WAS $10,557.49. PRIOR TO ENGINE FAILURE WE INFORMED THE DEALERSHIP THAT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS CONSTANTLY ON BUT STATED THAT IT WAS DUE TO THE GAS CAP NOT BEING PROPERLY PUT ON. THEY NEVER SCANNED THE COMPUTER DESPITE THE CAR BEING UNDER WARRANTY. ADDITIONALLY A TICKING NOISE HAS BEEN PREVIOUSLY BROUGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP'S ATTENTION BUT WAS TOLD THAT THE ENGINE NOISE WAS NORMAL FOR THIS PARTICULAR ENGINE. *TR
DRIVING VEHICLE WHEN IT MAKES A LOUD SQUEALING SOUND AND SHORTLY THEREAFTER BEGINS TO SMOKE. AIR CONDITIONING HAD QUIT WORKING THE DAY BEFORE. HAVE BEEN TOLD BY A MECHANIC THAT THE A/C COMPRESSOR "TOOK A CRAP" AND THE CLUTCH LOCKED UP, FURTHERMORE THIS CAUSED ALL OF THE FLUIDS TO LEAK OUT OF THE BEARINGS. BASICALLY, A WORST CASE SCENARIO. I BOUGHT THIS CAR IN MAY OF 2010 AT 24,000 MILES AND AFTER SEEING THESE COMPLAINTS, I WONDER IF THE DEALERSHIP I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM KNEW ABOUT THESE PROBLEMS WHEN I MADE THE PURCHASE. SO AFTER MY QUOTE OF 7000.00 TO FIX THE TRUCK I THOUGHT I WOULD DO SOME RESEARCH ONLINE ONLY TO FIND THAT THERE ARE AS MANY AS 50 PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM IN THE SAME TRUCK WITH THE SAME YEAR~!! THIS VEHICLE WAS ORIGINALLY PURCHASED USED BY ME DAUGHTER, SINCE THE FAILURE MY WIFE AND I BOUGHT IT, I REPLACED THE FAULTY TURBO CHARGER AND IT IS NOW BACK IN SERVICE. THOUGH MY WIFE HAS VERY LIMITED FAITH IN THE VEHICLE AT THIS TIME. THE ISSUE IS THAT WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MAZDA, THE DEALERSHIP MECHANICS/SERVICE MGR STATED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF OVER $8000.00. BEING A MECHANIC MYSELF I KNEW THAT THE ENGINE RAN EXCEPTIONALLY WELL BUT THAT THE TURBO HAD A BURNED UP CARTRIDGE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. IN DOING THE WORK I REALIZED THAT THE DESIGN OF THE ROUTING OF OIL TUBING CREATED THE FAILURE OF THE TURBO. ALSO, THE FACT THAT MAZDA DOES NOT INDICATE THAT THEIR (ANY) TURBO CHARGED GASOLINE ENGINE NEEDS TO BE IDLED TO COOL THE TURBO ASSEMBLY AFTER DRIVING BEFORE SHUTTING OFF THE ENGINE. AS IS COMMON PRACTICE WITH DIESEL ENGINES AND RACING ENGINES THAT ARE TURBO CHARGED. NOR DID THEY ENGINEER AND INSTALL A TIMER DEVICE WHICH WOULD DO THIS FOR THE CONSUMER SO THAT THIS FAILURE WOULD BE AVOIDED. I HAVE READ OF MANY OF THESE FAILURES IN THE US ON FORUMS AND MAZDA HAS FORCED MOST TO PAY FOR NEW ENGINES WHEN THEY WERE NOT NEEDED. *TR
I STARTED TO ACCELERATE AFTER COMING OFF OF AN EXIT RAMP WHEN I HEARD A NOISE FROM THE ENGINE THEN I STARTED TO LOSE POWER. IMMEDIATELY AFTER THAT WHEN I DEPRESSED THE GAS PEDAL TO ACCELERATE, A GRINDING NOISE OCCURRED. I WAS ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE TO A PARKING LOT. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO MAZDA DEALERSHIP WHO INFORMED ME THAT THE TURBO HAD FAILED. THEY WANT ALL MAINTENANCE RECORDS FOR THE TIME I HAVE OWNED THE CAR IN ORDER TO MAKE A DETERMINATION OF WHETHER IT WILL BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. I PURCHASED AN EXTENDED POWERTRAIN WARRANTY WHICH COVERS THE ENGINE AND TURBO TO 100,000. BUT IT APPEARS THEY ARE STATING IT IS DUE TO IMPROPER MAINTENANCE AS I CANNOT PRODUCE ALL MY OIL CHANGE RECEIPTS. *TR
PURCHASED MY VEHICLE 15 MONTHS AGO AT 38,000 MILES. IN OCTOBER, I WAS DRIVING ALONG AND THE CAR STOPPED RUNNING. NO WARNING, NOTHING ON THE DASH LIGHTING UP, THE VEHICLE JUST STARTED LOOSING SPEED. THE STEERING WAS GOING AS WELL. I PUT THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL TO TRY AND GET THE STEERING BACK AND IT WAS A HARD STEER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I TRIED STARTING THE VEHICLE AND IT WOULD TURN BUT NOT START. TWO TOWS LATER, I FIND, TO MY SURPRISE AT 62,000, THAT I NEED A NEW ENGINE. MY TIMING CHAIN EITHER BROKE OR HAS DERAILED. THIS ALL HAPPENED ON OCTOBER 22ND. IT IS NOW NOVEMBER 10TH AND I STILL DO NOT HAVE AN EXACT DIAGNOSIS NOR A VEHICLE. YES, WARRANTY IS DONE AT 60,000 MILES, BUT WHAT VEHICLES LOOSE AND ENGINE AT 62,000 IN THIS DECADE? AND, THANKFULLY, I WAS NOT ON A HIGHWAY WHEN THIS HAPPENED AS I'M NOT SURE WHAT HAPPENED TO THE STEERING IN THIS WHOLE PROCESS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 MAZDA CX-7. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL KNOCKING COULD BE HEARD HEAR FROM THE ENGINE WHEN FIRST STARTING THE VEHICLE. LATER, THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE DRIVING AND WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC ADVISED THAT THE TIME BELT WAS FRACTURED AND THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT DID NOT CALL THE MANUFACTURER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
THE AIR CONDITIONING COMPRESSOR ON THE VEHICLE SEIZED WITH NO WARNING & CAUSED THE SERPENTINE BELT TO CATCH ON FIRE. THIS APPEARS TO BE A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE, BASED ON MANY POSTINGS ON THE INTERNET. ADDITIONALLY, THE SERVICE MANAGER AT THE DEALER I TAKE MY VEHICLE TO FOR SERVICE SAID A NOISE GETTING PROGRESSIVELY LOUDER IN THE ENGINE IS THE TIMING CHAIN ADJUSTER THAT WILL REQUIRE REPLACEMENT VERY SOON. HE SAID THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE, AND THE MANY POSTINGS ON THE INTERNET ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE SEEM TO CONFIRM HIS STATEMENT. COMBINED, REPAIRS FOR BOTH WILL BE IN THE $3500 TO $5000 RANGE. *TR

I HAVE HAD MY 2007 MAZDA CX-7 FOR LESS THAN ONE YEAR. I STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT AFTER EXITING THE HIGHWAY AND MY CAR ENGULFED IN THICK WHITE SMOKE. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO A LOCAL SHOP PER MY INSURANCE COMPANY TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT. THE REPAIR SHOP AT FIRST CALLED TO TELL ME IT WAS THE STARTER, AND THAT IT WOULD COST 600 TO FIX IT. COME TO FIND OUT THAT NOT ONLY THE STARTER BLEW, BUT IT ALSO RUINED THE ALTERNATOR AS WELL AS THE FUSES ON THE BATTERY. I WAS TOLD BY MAZDA THAT THIS IS NOT A COMMON OCCURRENCE. THE TOTAL OF THE REPAIRS IS NOW OVER 1200. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN METICULOUSLY MAINTAINED THROUGHOUT ITS LIFESPAN AND IS AT 92,000 MILES. *TR
I WAS DRIVING MY MAZDA CX-7 ON THE HIGHWAY AROUND 65 MPH WHEN MY CAR STARTING MAKING A LOUD NOISE FROM THE ENGINE AND HAD A SUDDEN LOSS IN POWER. SO I PULLED OVER IN THE NEXT TOWN AND STAYED IN A MOTEL FOR THE NIGHT. THE NEXT DAY I RENTED A TRAILER FROM UHAUL TO TOW THE CAR TO A MAZDA DEALER WHO STATED THAT MY ENGINE NEEDED TO BE OPENED TO PROPERLY DIAGNOSE THE ACTUAL PROBLEM. PER THE MAZDA TECHNICIAN THAT INSPECTED MY CAR, THE TIMING CHAIN (VVT) WAS MISSING A PIN AND CAUSED THE ENGINE TO BREAK. THEREFORE MY ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. AT THE PRICE IT WAS TO REPLACE THE ENGINE, I OBTAINED A SECOND OPINION FROM A NON-MAZDA MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT MY ENGINE ALSO NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I REPLACED MY ENGINE AT 72,127 MILES, FOR APPROXIMATELY $6K, WHICH IS SLIGHTLY OVER THE 70,000 MILE SERVICE NOTICE THAT MAZDA RECENTLY PUT OUT FOR REIMBURSEMENT FROM REPAIRS RELATED TO THE VVT TIMING CHAIN. AFTER I SUBMITTED MY CLAIM TO MAZDA NORTH AMERICAN OPERATIONS, MY CLAIM WAS DENIED BECAUSE I WAS SLIGHTLY OVER THE MILEAGE THAT THEY DETERMINED WAS APPROPRIATE. I WOULD HAVE EXPECTED MAZDA TO BE A LITTLE MORE UNDERSTANDING AS IT WAS THEIR DEALERSHIP WHO INITIALLY DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM. AS SUCH, I HAVE CURRENTLY HIRED A LAWYER TO PURSUE REIMBURSEMENT OF MY ENGINE REPLACEMENT COST AS THIS PART HAS CAUSED SEVERAL OTHER INDIVIDUALS TO HAVE TO REPLACE THEIR ENTIRE ENGINES. MY LAWYER WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THERE ARE MORE CASES OF THE MAZDA CX-7 ENGINE BREAKING DUE TO TIMING CHAIN FAILURE THAT WAS ALSO NEAR OR ABOVE 70,000 MILES. ON 9/4/2011 THE AIR CONDITIONING UNIT FROZE UP MELTING SEVERAL BELTS UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. SMOKE POURED THROUGH THE VENTS ENTERING THE VEHICLE. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED MAZDA DEALERSHIP IN OLYMPIA ON 9/4/2011 . ON 4/10/2013, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE MECHANIC WHERE THEY REPLACED THE EDR VALVE. ON JUNE 1, 2013 THE MOTOR MOUNT BROKE WHILE TRAVELING 55-MILES PER HOUR. THE WEIGHT OF THE ENGINE PRECEDED TO REST ONTO THE CV AXEL BREAKING IT. I WAS ABLE TO MANEUVER THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD.
MY CAR MAKES A RATTLING NOISE AT START UP. AFTER READING THE HORROR STORY'S ONLINE ABOUT THIS CAR VVTA GOING OUT, OR THE AC COMPRESSOR GOING OUT AND MESSING UP THE ENGINE I TOOK IT TOO THE MAZDA DEALERSHIP. THEY SAID I NEEDED A NEW VARIABLE VALVE TIMING ACTUATOR. THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH YEAR MAKE AND MODEL. SO I TALK TO INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO HAS EXPERIENCE WITH MAZDAS AND HAS FIXED THIS SAME PROBLEM NUMEROUS TIMES ON THIS VEHICLE. HE STATED THE PROBLEM IS YOU CAN ONLY GET THE PART FROM MAZDA AND THEY ARE STILL SELLING THE DEFECTIVE PART. WHY ISN'T SOMEONE DOING SOMETHING ABOUT THIS. THIS ISSUE HAS CAUSED PEOPLE FROM LOSING ALL POWER WHILE TRAVELING AT HIGH SPEED ON THE HIGHWAY. MY CAR ALSO HAS A TRANSFER CASE LEAK WHICH IS ANOTHER THING EVERYONE ELSE IS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH.
