HORN HAS ACTIVATED RANDOMLY FOR YEARS NOW, THE FIRST INSTANCE OCCURRING ON OR ABOUT JULY, 2013. I HAVE BROUGHT THE CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP MANY TIMES FOR THIS. EACH TIME THEY SAID THE DOOR LATCH WAS FAULTY AND SETTING IT OFF. I HAVE HAD 3 DOOR LATCHES REPLACED WITH THE MOST RECENT BEING DONE ON 5/2015. IN AUGUST 2016, THE HORN STARTED ACTIVATING RANDOMLY AGAIN. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT THEY FOUND "CODES" ON THE 3 DOOR LATCHES THAT WERE ALREADY REPLACED! CLEARLY THERE IS A DEFECT SOMEWHERE WITH THE DOOR LOCKS OR ITS ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS. THIS POSES A SEVERE SAFETY HAZARD AS A CHILD CAN OPEN THE DOOR LOCK AND FALL OUT WHEN THE VEHICLE IS MOVING IF THE LOCK IS NOT WORKING.

NHTSA RECALL #:16V-594, MANUF RECALL #: 9816H THE SOPHISTICATED AIR BAG SENSOR (SAS) UNIT FAILURE. THE WARNING LIGHT HAS BEEN ILLUMINATED SINCE MID YEAR OF 2016. IT WAS CONFIRMED BY MAZDA DEALERSHIP 03/08/2017 THAT IT WAS ON DUE TO RESULT OF SAS UNIT FAILURE (WHEN THEY REPLACED THE DEFECTIVE AIRBAG RECALL). I WAS TOLD THE SAS MODULE WAS NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. I HAVE CALLED MULTIPLE TIMES FOR TIME FRAME AND TOLD NO DATE WAS AVAILABLE YET.
HELLO: THERE HAS BEEN 2 RECALLS ON MY VEHICLE, BOTH REGARDING AIRBAG. THE SAS UNIT RECALL HAS BEEN WITHOUT A REMEDY SINCE AUGUST 2016. THE SECOND RECALL REGARDING AIRBAG INFLATOR HAS BEEN WITHOUT A REMEDY SINCE JANUARY 2017. FOR SUCH SERIOUS SAFETY RECALLS, I AM DISAPPOINTED THAT THERE HAS BEEN NO REMEDY FOR ALMOST A YEAR.

TAKATA RECALL MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP SINCE EARLY AUGUST 2016, WITHIN A WEEK OR TWO OF MY RECEIVING THE FIRST RECALL REGARDING THE TAKATA AIRBAG. ANOTHER RECALL RELATING TO ANOTHER AIRBAG WAS RECEIVED LATER IN THE YEAR. TO DATE THE DEALERSHIP AND MAZDA STILL CANNOT PROVIDE AN ESTIMATE OF WHEN THE PARTS WILL BE AVAILABLE TO ADDRESS THE RECALL. THE DEALER WON'T BUY IT BECAUSE OF THE RECALL AND AS A RESULT I WAS FORCED TO BUY A NEW CAR WHILE MY 2009 MAZDA6 SITS FOR 6 MONTHS IN THE SHOP AND I'M UNABLE TO DRIVE IT.
SUBFRAME RUSTED STRIGHT THRU ON THE RIGHT SUPPORT POINT. LEFT SUPPORT POINT HAD NO RUST AT ALL.. APPROX 96000 MILES ON THE CAR, AND THIS RUST WAS FOUND BY MY MECHANIC AFTER REPLACING THE NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH..THE RUST IS HARD TO DETECT BECAUSE THE PLASTIC COVERS , THAT COVER THE SUBFRAME.

THE CONTACT SUFFERED INJURIES TO THE WRIST AND HEAD, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED, BUT NOT TOWED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 105,000.

THE SUB FRAME ON MY 2009 MAZDA 6 BROKE WHILE MY HUSBAND WAS COMING TO A STOP, WHICH NEARLY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. HE WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT AT A VERY LOW SPEED TO A NEARBY SERVICE STATION. THEY WERE ABLE TO GET IT ON A LIFT TO SURVEY THE DAMAGE - IT HAD A SEVERELY RUSTED SUB FRAME THAT BROKE AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. HE WAS ON VACATION AND HAD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED 300 MILES TO OUR LOCAL MAZDA DEALER. THE LOCAL DEALER SAID "THEY HAD NEVER SEEN THIS", WE ALSO HAVE CONTACTED MAZDA, SEVERAL TIMES THEY HAVE BLATANTLY IGNORED US. THE CAR HAS BEEN WELL MAINTAINED, I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER, THE BODY OF THE CAR HAS NO RUST !

THE FIRE DEPARTMENT RESPONDED; HOWEVER, THERE WERE NO VISIBLE FLAMES. THE ENTIRE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE WAS COVERED WITH SOOT AND SMOKE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DECTECTED THAT THE HARNESS CONNECTOR WIRES UNDERNEATH THE DRIVER'S SEAT WERE BURNT AND THE FUSE BOX OVERHEATED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. NEITHER A FIRE NOR A POLICE REPORT WERE FILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.

CAR GETS SELF ACCELERATED FROM FULL STOP RIGHT AFTER SHIFTING FROM DRIVE INTO REVERSE GEAR-AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE. I HAVE HAD THREE OCCURRENCES WITCH TRIGGER TO FILL THIS COMPLAINT.

TANKA RECALL. NOTIFIED OF RECALL ON PASSENGER AIRBAG AND SHOULD NOT HAVE PASSENGERS MORE THAN 6 MO AGO, DEALER HAS NO IDEA WHEN THEY'LL GET IT CORRECTED. THIS IS OUR FAMILY VEHICLE AND WE CAN'T USE IT IN FEAR FOR OUR LIVES.

TAKATA INFLATORS!!!!! IT'S BEEN SINCE MAY 2016 AND I AM UNABLE TO HAVE ANYONE RIDE IN MY PASSENGER SEAT. I'M A FATHER AND A HUSBAND WHO NEEDS ALL THE SEATS AVAILABLE IN MY CAR. HAVE TALKED TO MAZDA USA, THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP, ETC... AND NO ONE HAS A CLUE WHEN THE PROBLEMS WILL BE FIXED
TAKATA RECALL. THE AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON CONSTANTLY IN THE CAR AND THE AREA ABOVE THE AIRBAG IN THE DASH IS OPENING UP AND PULLING AWAY FROM THE DASH WHILE STATIONARY.

VEHICLE WILL NOT CRANK WITH TRANSMISSION IN PARK, MUST BE SHIFTED TO NEUTRAL. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN AS THE VEHICLE MAY MOVE UNINTENTIONALLY WHILE STARTING IN NEUTRAL. WHEN THE SHIFTER IS PLACED IN PARK, THE TRANSMISSION IS MECHANICALLY IN PARK AND THE VEHICLE DOES NOT ROLL. THE DASHBOARD SHIFTER POSITION INDICATOR DOES NOT HIGHLIGHT "P" THOUGH WHEN IN PARK, AND THUS THE VEHICLE DOES NOT CRANK. TO START THE VEHICLE, I HAVE TO HAVE FOOT ON THE BRAKE, PRESS START/STOP, MOVE SHIFTER TO NEUTRAL, THEN PRESS START/STOP BUTTON TO CRANK ENGINE. UNINTENDED ROLL AWAY RISK SINCE VEHICLE IS STARTED IN NEUTRAL.
THE FRONT CRADLE ASSEMBLY WAS RUSTED THROUGH AND BROKE WHILE I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY. MY MECHANIC SAID HE HAD NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT ON A CAR THIS NEW AND IT COULD HAVE CAUSED A VERY SERIOUS ACCIDENT. A MECHANIC AT THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR SAID HE HAS NEVER HAD A PROBLEM LIKE THIS WITH A MAZDA 6.
I BOUGHT A USED CAR WITH 2 DASHBOARD LIGHT TMPS & ENGINE THE DEALER GIVE ME EXTRA WARRANTY BUT NEVER BEEN REPAIR FURTHERMORE I FIND OUT BY MYSELF A RECALL FOR THE OUTER DOOR HANDLES AFTER THE DOOR OPEN WHILE I DRIVING IN THE EXPRESS WAY THIS HAPPENED TO MY YOUNGEST DAUGHTER; AND IN OTHER 2 INCIDENTS THE CAR DO NOT RESPOND WITH THE APPROPRIATE SPEED CAUSING ME A BIG CHANCE OF ACCIDENT AFTERWARDS IT IS HAPPENED AGAIN SO DUE TO OTHER SEVERAL MECHANIC PROBLEMS AND FOR SECURITY I HAVE TO DECIDED TO RETURN THE CAR NOW I HAVE NO MONEY NO CAR AND A BIG PROBLEM I AM HAVING HARDLY TIME TRIED TO SUMMIT MY CONCERNS BECAUSE I THINK THE DEALERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR SALE SECURITY CARS BEFORE THE SALE BUT APPARENTLY THE LAWS ARE IN THE DEALERS SIDE AS A CONSUMER I HOPE MAYBE SOME ONE CAN SEE HOW THIS IRRESPONSIBLE DEALERS PLAY WITH THE CONSUMERS SAFETY. I PAY OVER $3,000 IN REPAIRS BY MY SELF AND I HAVE BEEN AROUND 90 DAYS WITH OUT CAR AND ALL THIS PROBLEMS IN A PERIOD OF TIME OF 26 MONTHS PLUS MY PAYMENTS TO THE DEALER THAT WAS $460,00 A MONTH THIS ISSUE START ON 12-6-13 TO 02-26-16 AFTER THE CAR NEED A NEW REPAIR AT COST OF $3,000 SO IN THE REALITY THIS COMPANY WAS NEGLIGENT WHEN THEY FAIL TO PROPERLY REPAIR THE CAR SINCE THE BEGINNING THEY JUST PRETEND TO FIXED BUT WASN'T . RUBBER AROUND SMALL REAR WINDOW, NOT THE ONE THAT OPENS, HAS LOST MOST OF THE RUBBER. NOTICED THIS WHILE WASHING THE VEHICLE. THE REMAINING RUBBER DID NOT SEEM DRY ROTTED BUT IT PULLS OUT EASILY AND SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT IS ALREADY MISSING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 MAZDA 6. DURING HIGHER HUMIDITY TEMPERATURES, THE VEHICLE'S ALARM RANDOMLY ACTIVATED. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE IF THIS ISSUE WOULD AFFECT THE AIR BAGS. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE SEVERAL TIMES AND WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE A SPECIFIC DIAGNOSIS TO PROVIDE A PERMANENT REMEDY. THE DEALER INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE RECEIVED A MANUFACTURER'S REPAIR FOR AN UNRELATED FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
Passenger side dash is melting and causes a bad glare on the windshield making it hard to see, there is also a glare at night with the street lights. My wife has called several times over the past 5 years about the recall but was told they are not going to fix it and not to call back. I called the Mazda recall team on 10-4-21, they said they would replace the dash and connected me to a local dealer to set up an appointment to get the dash replaced and 3 other recalls fixed. The dealer ( Mazda of Cool Springs in Franklin TN) said they would not replace the dash due to the 10 year warranty period had expired. According to the news I found on the internet there is no limit on getting dash replaced. This is a safety hazard that several people are complaining about and needs to be fixed. Please help.
OUR DASH IS MELTING AND IS PUTTING A GLARE ON THE FRONT WINDOW. IT HAS A AWFUL SMELL AND IS VERY STICKY. I FIRST NOTICED MY DASH IN MY CAR TODAY. THE DASH IN MY CAR APPEARS TO BE MELTING. IT IS STICKY, AND BEGINNING TO HAVE A SHINE TO IT. THIS AREA IS LOCATED OVER THE AIRBAG AREA OF THE DASH. I AM NOT SURE WHAT CAN BE DONE TO FIX THIS PROBLEM.

THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2009 MAZDA 6. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A TELEPHONE POLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUFFERED LACERATIONS TO THE NOSE, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,694.
THE DRIVER'S SIDE HIGH BEAM HEADLIGHT HAS GONE OUT. HITTING IN MAKES THE LIGHT TURN ON AGAIN, BUT IT GOES OUT WITHIN A FEW MINUTES.
MY DASHBOARD IS "MELTING". I HAVE TRIED USING A SUN PROTECTOR BETWEEN THE DASH AND WINDOW BUT THE PROTECTOR IS STICKING TO AND PEELING OFF OF THE DASH. IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO? THE WARRANTY HAS PASSED BUT I BELIEVE THERE IS A LAWSUIT AGAINST MAZDA FOR THIS EXACT PROBLEM.

THE PANIC ALARM HAS BEEN GOING OFF EVERY WEEK AT LEAST ONCE OR TWICE. THIS HAPPENS A LOT IN THE EVENINGS BETWEEN 8PM AND 11PM. IT'LL GO OFF BY ITSELF FOR NO REASON AT ALL. THIS HAPPENED ANOTHER TIME LAST YEAR, BUT ONLY ONCE. NOW, IT'S HAPPENING EVERY WEEK AND IT'S PRETTY ANNOYING. I'VE READ ON OTHER FORUMS WHERE PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. I'M AFRAID THIS IS GOING TO KILL MY BATTERY SOON.
TAKATA RECALL MY AIRBAGS STOPPED FUNCTIONING FOR NO REASON SINCE LAST YEAR. MY CAR IS A 2009 MODEL BUT ONLY HAS 45000 MILES ON IT AND NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT OR WRACK. MAYBE IT'S A GOOD THING THAT IT'S NOT WORKING BECAUSE MAZDA REFUSES TO INCLUDE THIS MODEL AS PART OF THE TAKATA RECALL, SO HOPEFULLY IT WILL NOT EXPLODE IN MY FACE. I CALLED MAZDA'S CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY GAVE ME THE RUN AROUND. TOLD ME TO GET A DIAGNOSTIC DONE, CALL THEM BACK AFTER THAT AND "MAYBE" THEY WILL COVER IT. WELL I LEFT NUMEROUS MESSAGES, THEY NEVER CALLED ME BACK. WHAT MAKES ME SCARED IS THAT THE MAZDA DEALERSHIP WHO DID THE DIAGNOSTIC REFUSED TO EXPLAIN WHAT EXACTLY IS GOING ON. THEY ACTED REALLY WEIRD AND RUDE WHEN I PRESSED FOR ANSWERS. ALL THEY TOLD ME THAT I HAVE TO PAY AROUND $500 TO REPLACE A PART BUT THAT WILL NOT GUARANTEE THAT MY AIRBAG WILL WORK. AND OF COURSE THAT'S AN EXTRA COST THAT WE WOULD HAVE TO PAY. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THIS MODEL IS NOT AFFECTED BY THIS RECALL WHEN MANY OLDER AND NEWER MODELS HAVE ALREADY BEEN RECALLED?
