TAKATA RECALL RECEIVED A LETTER :O VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 MAZDA 6. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONT END COLLISION. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO CLYDE LYNN COLLISION CENTER; HOWEVER, IT HAD NOT YET BEEN DETERMINED IF IT WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V594000 (AIR BAGS) AS A POSSIBLE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE REPAIR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT PROVIDED.
ON WEDNESDAY, MAY 24TH THE SUB-FRAME OF THIS CAR BROKE WHILE MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING IT. WE DID NOT KNOW AT THE TIME THAT IT WAS THE SUBFRAME. ALL WE KNEW WAS THAT THERE WAS NO CONTROL OF THE CAR AS IT WAS BEING DRIVEN. AS WE WERE LEAVING TOWN THE NEXT DAY, WE DROPPED IT AT OUR REGULAR REPLACE PLACE. WHILE WE WERE OUT OF TOWN, THEY REPAIRED THE CAR. WHILE WE WERE OUT OF TOWN, WE WERE IN CONTACT WITH THE REPAIR PEOPLE. THEY ORDERED AND REPLACED THE PART. IN FURTHER DISCUSSION, THEY WERE SURPRISED THAT AN 8 YEAR OLD CAR, THAT HAS BEEN MAINTAINED REGULARLY AND ONLY HAS 85000 MILES ON, HAD SUCH A SUBSTANTIVE FAILURE. THE SUBFRAME CRACKED WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY, WHILE DRIVING.
NOTHING HAS HAPPENED YET. THERE ARE TWO RECALLS BUT NO ONE HAS CONTACTED ME ABOUT THEM.

TAKATA RECALL REGARDING: MAZDA RECALL #: 9516E NHTSA RECALL #: 16V-356 RECALL DATE MAY 27, 2016 THE STATUS AS OF MARCH 7, 2017, IS THAT A REMEDY TO REPAIR IS NOT AVAILABLE. MAZDA'S RECALL INFORMATION ON ITS WEBSITE STATES, AND I'M PARAPHRASING, THAT WE SHOULD NOT ALLOW ANYONE TO RIDE IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. IT' BEEN ALMOST TEN MONTHS, WHEN IS THIS REMEDY FORTHCOMING? AM I REALLY NOT SUPPOSED TO CARRY PASSENGERS IN THE FRONT SEAT OF MY PASSENGER CAR FOR ALMOST A YEAR NOW? ARE THERE ANY OTHER FINANCIAL OR MECHANICAL REMEDIES AVAILABLE? THE CONSTRAINT OF NOT BEING ABLE TO CARRY PASSENGERS IN THE FRONT SEAT RESULTS IN THIS PERSONAL PASSENGER VEHICLE BEING USELESS IN MANY SITUATIONS IT WAS PURCHASED FOR. THE CONSUMER STATED THE PASSENGER DASH MADE A CLICKING NOISE. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE, BUT CHARGED THE CONSUMER A DIAGNOSTIC FEE. *JS

TAKATA RECALL-WE BOUGHT A MAZDA 6 GRAN TOURING CAR IN 2010, VIN# [XXX]. IT CURRENTLY HAS ONLY 65,060 MILES. ON JULY 2016 WE RECEIVED A NOTICE THAT MAZDA CORP. DECIDED THAT A PASSENGER AIR BAG INFLATOR DEFECT EXISTS IN OUR CAR AND THAT THERE WAS A SAFETY RECALL ESPECIALLY FOR CARS IN CENTRAL FLORIDA BECAUSE OF CONSISTENT HIGH HUMIDITY. IN AUGUST WE TOOK THE CAR TO JENKINS MAZDA IN OCALA WHERE WE BOUGHT IT. THEY SAID THAT THEY WOULD TRY TO EXPEDITE THE REPLACEMENT BECAUSE IT WOULD BE DANGEROUS TO DRIVE.IN SEPTEMBER THE REPLACEMENT STILL HAD NOT COME SO THEY ASKED US TO STORE THE CAR WITH THEM. OUR CAR WAS THERE AT THE JENKINS MAZDA CAR LOT FOR MORE THAN 3 MONTHS. WE DID NOT USE THE CAR BECAUSE WE WERE AFRAID TO DRIVE IT. AAA CAME TO THE HOUSE AND TESTED THE BATTERY AND THEY CONCLUDED THAT BECAUSE IT WAS NOT USED FOR SEVERAL MONTHS THE BATTERY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. HOWEVER, WE NOTICED THAT THE NAVIGATION SCREEN WAS GIVING A MESSAGE ?A PROGRAM CANNOT BE READ. PLEASE CONSULT DEALER.? WE CALLED [XXX] AND THEY SAID COMEBACK AND WHILE REPLACING THE AIR BAG PART THEY WOULD FIX THE NAVIGATION SCREEN.ON JANUARY 17 2017 THE PART WAS REPLACED, BUT THEY COULDN?T FIX THE NAVIGATION SCREEN. THEY THEN SAID THAT THEY WOULD TALK TO THEIR SERVICE REP IN JACKSONVILLE ABOUT IT.ON FEBRUARY 10 AFTER TRADING MANY PHONE CALLS WITH THE [XXX] SERVICE MGR. IN OCALA, HE SAID THAT AFTER TALKING TO HIS SERVICE REP IN JACKSONVILLE THE REP FELT THE SCREEN IS OUR RESPONSIBILITY AND THEY WOULDN?T REPAIR IT BUT INSTEAD PUT A NEW ONE IN FOR $5500. I FEEL THAT THE WHOLE SITUATION STARTED WITH MAZDA?S DEFECTIVE AIR BAG AND THE CAR BEING UNUSED AND INACTIVE FOR ALMOST 4 MONTHS SITTING ON THE [XXX] MAZDA LOT IN OCALA. A NEW BATTERY HAD TO BE INSTALLED BECAUSE THE CAR SAT ON THEIR LOT A LONG TIME [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT LAMPS WORK INCONSISTENTLY. THEY STOPPED WORKING WHEN VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND TURNED OFF. THEY WORKED WHEN I LAST USED CAR, BUT STOPPED WORKING WHEN I STARTED THE CAR THE NEXT DAY. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES OVER 3.5 YEARS OF OWNERSHIP, AND MAY BE MORE SUSCEPTIBLE TO COLD WEATHER. SEVERAL FIRM RAPS ON THE LENS SEEMS TO CORRECT THE ISSUE, BUT MANY PEOPLE WONT KNOW ABOUT THIS AND WILL TAKE CAR IN FOR SERVICING BY MAZDA BECAUSE REPLACING LAMP REQUIRES YOU TO REMOVE WHEEL AND WHEEL WELL IN ORDER TO GET ACCESS TO THE LAMP. MY PASSENGER AIRBAG COVER HAS A CRACK GOING OVER THE ENTIRE DASHBOARD WHERE THE AIRBAG IS LOCATED. IT WAS NOT THERE ONE DAY, AND THE NEXT DAY IT HAD A HUGE CRACK IN IT,AFTER A VERY GOOD WINTER NIGHT. THE CRACK,IS GETTING WIDER. I'M AFRAID THE AIR BAG IS GOING TO,DEPLOY WHILE DRIVING. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2010 MAZDA 6. WHILE MAKING A TURN, THE VEHICLE WAS T-BONED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED AFTER THE CRASH OCCURRED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE NECK AND NOSE, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO A TOWING FACILITY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE AND VIN WERE UNKNOWN.
TAKATA RECALL: CALLED MAZDA TO HAVE THE ARIBAG RECALL I RCVD REMEDIED BOOK THE APPOINTMENT THEN RECEIVED A CALL MOMENTS LATER THAT NO MAZDA HAS THE PARTS YET TO CORRECT THIS ISSUE.
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS TURN OFF ON THEIR OWN WITH SLIGHT VIBRATION, OR KNOCK THAT CAN BE CAUSED BY EITHER A POTHOLE, BUMP IN THE ROAD, OR SPEED BUMP. I DISCOVERED ON THE INTERNET THAT THIS, IS A SUPER COMMON PROBLEM FOR ALL MAZDA 6 (SECOND GENERATION) OWNERS, AND THEY HAVE TO BANG THEIR FISTS ON THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE TO TURN THEM ON. I TRIED THIS METHOD AS WELL, AND IT WORKED FOR ME DESPITE BEING DANGEROUS.

HOWEVER EVERY TIME I TALK TO THE MAZDA REPRESENTATIVE (BRICKELL MAZDA) LOCATED IN MIAMI I GOT THE SAME ANSWER: "WE DON'T HAVE THE PART TO REPLACE YET". PLEASE HELP ME TO SOLVE THIS ISSUE, I (AND THE PASSENGER) DON'T WANT TO BE EXPOSED TO RISKS IN CASE OF ANY ACCIDENT. I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THE AIRBAG REPLACED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. TAKATA RECALL I RECEIVED A NOTICE IN THE MAIL FOR THE RECALL AND THAT THERE HASN'T BEEN A REPLACEMENT MADE BY THE MANUFACTURER. I HAVE ALSO BEEN NOTICED OF A RECALL ON THE PASSENGER DASH BOARD MELTING, DISINTEGRATING, ETC. AND THERE IS ALSO NOT A REPLACEMENT MADE EITHER. I CONTACTED THE MAZDA DEALERSHIP IN TRUSSCULLE, ALABAMA AND I WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD BE NOTIFIED WHEN THE REPLACEMENT DASH IS AVAILABLE AND I HAVE YET TO RECEIVE A CALL. THAT WAS 2 YEARS AGO.

I GOT RECALL NOTICE FROM MAZDA (SAFETY RECALL 9516E) IN THE MONTH OF JULY 2016. MAZDA DEALERSHIP DID NOT REPLACE THE AIRBAG YET. CALLED MAZDA CUSTOMER SERVICE, THEY PUSHED ME TO DEALER AND DEALER IS SAYING PART IS NOT AVAILABLE. I NEED YOUR HELP TO REPLACE THE AIRBAG ASAP. MAZDA IS NOT BEHAVING RESPONSIBLY.
TAKATA INFLATORS. WE ARE A ONE CAR FAMILY AND OUR MAZDA AIRBAG WAS SLATED TO BE REPAIRED IN NOVEMBER BUT WE STILL HAVEN'T RECEIVED ANY INFO WHEN THE PARTS ARE GOING TO BE AVAILABLE. THE SEATBELT IS BEGINNING TO CHAFF AND UNRAVEL. I HAVE HAD MUCH OLDER AND USED VEHICLES BEFORE AND NEVER HAVE I SEEN A SEATBELT DO THIS. IT CONCERNS ME THAT IT WILL DETACH COMPLETELY IN A COLLISION IF IT GETS WORSE. THE VEHICLE IS NOT ABUSED AND ONLY HAS 90,000 MILES. THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE AND I AM AFRAID IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE.

TAKATA RECALL- THE RECALL NOTICE ON SAFERCAR.GOV SHOWS MAY 2016 AND HAVE NOT RECEIVED AN UPDATE THAT THE PARTS ARE AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. THE NOTIFICATION OF NOT BEING ABLE TO HAVE PEOPLE RIDE IN THE FRONT SEAT IS NOT AN OPTION. THIS IS THE SECOND SUCH SAFETY ISSUE FROM MAZDA WHERE MY FAMILY'S SAFETY IS BEING COMPROMISED.

THE DASHBOARD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE IS MELTING. I LIVE IN CENTRAL FLORIDA. I RECENTLY STARTED NOTICING A SLIGHT GLARE COMING FROM THE DASH AREA WHILE DRIVING. UPON A ROUTINE INTERIOR CLEANING I NOTICED THAT THE DASHBOARD AREA WAS STICKY/TACKY TO THE TOUCH. I USED A HIGH QUALITY INTERIOR CLEANER TO TEST A SMALL SPOT TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO TREAT IT. WHILE DOING THE TEST SPOT CLEANING THE DASH WAS LITERALLY RUBBING OFF ON THE RAG I WAS USING. THE SUBSEQUENT REMOVAL OF THE DASH MATERIAL LEFT THE TEST SPOT VERY REFLECTIVE. IN THE DECADES I HAVE BEEN WORKING ON AND REBUILDING CARS I HAVE NEVER COME ACROSS A DEFECT LIKE THIS. I PARK IN OPEN PARKING LOTS AND USE SUN SHADES INSIDE THE CAR TO HELP PROTECT THE INTERIOR. THE SUN SHADES ARE USED APPROXIMATELY 80% OF THE TIME DURING SUNNY WEATHER. I AM CURRENTLY AFRAID TO ATTEMPT TO CLEAN THE DASH FURTHER BECAUSE I FEAR THAT THE GLARE WOULD BE INCREASED AND CAUSE A FURTHER SAFETY HAZARD WHILE DRIVING.
THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ON MY 2010 MAZDA 6 KEEPS GOING OUT. I'VE REPLACED EACH LIGHT AT LEAST TWICE IN THE PAST 4 YEARS. WHILE I WAS DRIVING LAST NIGHT, BOTH HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT. I THINK MAZDA KNOW THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM IN THIS VEHICLE BUT INSTEAD OF FIXING THE ROOT OF THE PROBLEM, THEY KEEP CHARGING ME $60 FOR EACH HEADLIGHT BULB.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (BROWN MAZDA IN FAIRFAX, VA) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SUNGLASS HOLDER WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. ALSO, WHEN REMOVING THE IGNITION KEY FROM THE IGNITION SWITCH, THE METAL SECTION OF THE KEY WOULD BREAK OFF. THE FAILURE HAD NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED FOR EITHER FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000. *TT *TR
MAZDA OVER TWO YEARS AGO PROMISED REPLACE THE DASHBOARDS ON IT MAZDA 6 MODELS IT HAS A STICKY SURFACE IT WHICH MAZDA EXPLAIN IN THE RECALL NOTICE IT IS NOW 2017 WHAT IS THE STATUS OF THE RECALL? MY INTERIOR IS RUIN DUE TO THE MATERIAL OF THE DASHBOARD
FOR MANY YEARS AND I'VE RUN INTO A SERIOUS ISSUE WITH MY CURRENT 2010 MAZDA 6. OVER THE LAST FIVE YEARS I'VE HAD TO REPLACE THE MASTER CYLINDER MULTIPLE TIMES, WHICH I'M TO UNDERSTAND FROM THE MECHANICS IS "EXTREMELY UNLUCKY", HOWEVER I FEEL THERE IS ANOTHER UNDERLYING ISSUES. ATTACHED IS THE BRIEF TIMELINE OF THE INCIDENTS BASED ON THE PAPERWORK. REGARDLESS OF WHETHER THE CAR IS IN MOTION OR POWERED DOWN THE CAR HAS 'MUSHY BRAKES' WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL "COLLAPSING" TO THE FLOOR WITH LITTLE APPLIED PRESSURE. AS YOU CAN SEE I HAVE HAD THREE PREVIOUS ATTEMPTS TO HAVE THE PROBLEM ADDRESSED, WHICH WERE UNSUCCESSFUL. THE ROOT CAUSE OF THE ISSUE WAS NOT EVEN CONSIDERED UNTIL A MECHANIC FRIEND OF MINE SUGGESTED THEY LOOK AT THE MASTER CYLINDER AS THE ROOT CAUSE, WHICH WAS LOOKED AT ON INSPECTION #3 THROUGH CHECKING OF CODES AND NOT FINALLY ADDRESSED UNTIL INSPECTION #4. I BELIEVE THAT THERE IS A FUNDAMENTAL PARTS PROBLEM THAT IS NOT BEING ADDRESSED BY MAZDA, WHICH COULD HAVE THE POTENTIAL FOR SERIOUS LIABILITY CONCERNS FOR THE COMPANY SHOULD THERE BE ANY FURTHER DEFECTIVE PARTS MANUFACTURED AND INSTALLED. I AM COMFORTABLE SAYING THAT AS I HAVE NOT HEARD ONE COMMENT OR STATEMENT FROM GALLO MAZDA ABOUT CONTACTING THE MANUFACTURER OR MAZDA CORPORATE ABOUT ADDRESSING THIS ISSUE. AS OF THIS DATE, THE CAR IS STILL HAVING THE "MUSHY BRAKE" FEEL, WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL "COLLAPSING" TO THE FLOOR WITH LITTLE PRESSURE AND I BELIEVE THE RECENTLY REPLACED MASTER CYLINDER HAS BEGUN TO FAIL. THE CAR WILL BE RETURNED TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR. I CONSIDER IT UNFAIR AND UNETHICAL TO PAY FOR SAFETY/MANUFACTURING ISSUES THAT MAZDA SHOULD ADDRESS, NOT ME AS THE CUSTOMER.
SINCE I HAVE OWNED CAR, GRADUAL DETERIORATION OF INTERIOR COMPONENTS TO INCLUDE SAFETY ITEM; CRACKED REAR-VIEW MIRROR, CEILING SUNGLASSES HOLDER (BLOCKS REAR-VIEW MIRROR, CHANGE HOLDER (HIT EVERY TIME GET INTO CAR), SEAT TRACK COVER (DANGER OF PUTTING FINGER INSIDE), AND STEERING WHEEL PLASTIC LOOSE. I HAVE IMAGES OF THE REMAINING ITEMS, ALTHOUGH FILE SIZE PREVENTED UPLOAD AND CAN SEND UNDER SEPARATE COVER.

I HAVE READ SEVERAL OTHER REVIEW ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, IF WE TO BE DRIVING AT NIGHT AND BOTH HEADLIGHTS GO OUT THAT WOULD BE VERY DANGEROUS. SECOND ISSUE: EVERY WINTER WHEN IT GETS COLDER THE CARS ELECTRONIC SYSTEM SEEMS TO RUN MUCH SLOWER AND THE BLUE TOOTH, CD PLAYER, ETC. WILL NOT CONNECT AND THERE HAS BEE THREE INSTANCES WHERE THE CAR WILL MAKE A LOUD POPPING NOISE WHILE IT IS IN MOTION AND THE WHOLE STEREO SYSTEM, BLUE TOOTH, DASHBOARD LIGHTS WILL POWER OFF AND I'LL HAVE TO RESET UP THE BLUE TOOTH.
