I WENT TO CHECK ON SAFERCAR.GOV SINCE I RECEIVED A LETTER SAYING MAZDA WOULD BE REPLACING THE DASH DUE TO GLARE CONDITION POTENTIAL (2015) TO FIND UPDATED STATUS AND ALSO FOR AIR BAG. THE AIR BAG ISSUE IS STILL INCOMPLETE FOR OVER 7 MONTHS. BY VIN LOOK-UP, I FIND TWO ADDITIONAL RECALLS FOR DOOR LATCH AND FUEL TANK IN WHICH I WAS UNAWARE. DATE ON THIS COMPLAINT REFLECTS FIRST CONTACT FROM MAZDA. ALSO, 4 INTERIOR ITEMS BROKEN, INCLUDING A CRACKED REAR-VIEW MIRROR. *TR
THE DASHBOARD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE IS MADE OF A MATERIAL THAT MELTS DURING HOT SUNNY PERIODS AND TAKES ON A REFLECTIVE SURFACE WHICH ACTS LIKE A MIRROR. WHEN SUNLIGHT HITS THE SURFACE NOT ONLY IS THE SUN REFLECTED OFF THE SURFACE OF THE DASHBOARD BUT IT'S ALSO PROJECTED ONTO THE WINDSHIELD INSTANTLY BLINDING THE DRIVER OF THE RIGHT HALF OF THE ENTIRE WINDSHIELD, TURNING THE WHOLE SIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD INTO YET ANOTHER MIRROR BOUNCING DIRECT SUNLIGHT INTO THE EYES OF THE DRIVER INSTANTLY BLINDING THEM. VISIBILITY IS SUBSTANTIALLY REDUCED AND IT BECOMES EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO SEE OTHER MOTORISTS ON THE ROAD. ALSO THIS MELTED DASHBOARD IS THE SURFACE OF THE PASSENGER FRONT AIRBAG. BEING THAT IT'S DEFECTIVE AND MELTED ONE WOULD BE LED TO BELIEVE THAT THE DEPLOYMENT OF THE AIRBAG WOULD ALSO BE EFFECTED OR DEFECTIVE. THE GLARE OFF OF THE AIRBAG / DASHBOARD AND THE PROJECTED LIGHT REFLECTED OFF THE WINDSHIELD IS CONSTANT ALL TIMES WHEN THE SUN IS SHINING. THIS IS NOT JUST DANGEROUS IT'S DEADLY AND A GENUINE HAZZARD TO THE OPERATOR OF THE VEHICLE, THE PASSENGERS, AND EVERY SINGLE MOTORIST AND THEIR OCCUPANTS THAT PASS BY THE DEFECTED CAR AND EVERY MOTORIST WHO INTERACTS WITH THIS DEFECTIVE MAZDA AND THE BLIND DRIVER. THIS CAN KILL PEOPLE. RECALL THIS DEADLY CAR, FROM THIS POINT FORWARD IF THE RECALL IS NOT MANDATED AND SOMEONE DIES JUST REMEMBER THIS DEPARTMENT COULD HAVE PREVENTED IT.
THE DASHBOARD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE IS MELTING AND STICKY TO TOUCH. THE REFLECTION FROM THE MELTING MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO SEE OUT THE WINDSHIELD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND HAD PICTURES TAKEN OF THE PROBLEM. ALL THEY SAID TO WAIT FOR A LETTER AND THE PART IS NOT IN. IT HAS BEEN 7 MONTHS SINCE I FIRST REPORTED IT.
THE DASHBOARD OF MY 2010 MAZDA 6 , 2.5L MELTED, EMITTING A CHEMICAL SMELL AND LIQUIFYING THE DASHBOARD SURFACE CREATING A STICKY REFLECTIVE SURFACE THAT CAN BLIND THE DRIVER.
THIS IS THE THIRD COMPLAINT I HAVE FILED REGARDING THE MELTING DASHBOARD. I FORGOT TO MENTION IN THE PREVIOUS COMPLAINT THAT THE MELTING PASSENGER DASHBOARD IS ACTUALLY NOT A TRUE DASHBOARD, IT IS AN AIRBAG FOR THE FRONT PASSENGER. I HAVE REASON TO BELIEVE THAT THE MELTING, PERMANENT, EXTREMELY STIKY, SEMI LIQUID EXTERIOR OF THE AIRBAG WILL FAIL TO RUPTURE PROPERLY ALLOWING FOR NORMAL DEPLOYMENT OF THE AIRBAG. IT MAY RUPTURE TOO EASILY CAUSING DEPLOYMENT OF AIRBAG WITH EXCESSIVE FORCE, POSSIBLY BREAKING THE NECK OF A CHILD OR INJURING AN ADULT. IT COULD NOT RUPTURE COMPLETELY CAUSING A LAG IN THE TIME OF DEPLOYMENT AND MAY NOT INFLATE COMPLETELY. IT COULD ALSO POSSIBLY PREVENT DEPLOYMENT COMPLETELY. IN ADDITION TO CAUSING DEFECTS IN AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT BLINDNESS OR EYE INJURY AS WELL AS SKIN INJURY CAN OCCUR AT TIME OF AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT CAUSED BY AN EXPLOSION OF THE STIKY LIQUIDATED AIRBAG SURFACE SPRAYING INTO THE FACE, EYES, AND MOUTH OF PASSENGERS. THE LIQUIFYING AIRBAG SURFACE MIGHT ALSO LEAK INTO INTERNAL AIRBAG COMPONENTS CAUSING MALFUNCTION. REMER THAT WHEN SOMEONE REFERS TO THE PASSENGER SIDE DASHBOARD MELTING, IT IS ACTUALLY THE SURFACE OF THE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG. I AM A PROFESSIONAL CAREER AUTOMOBILE MECHANIC WITH OVER TEN YEARS EXPERIENCE. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM.
THE DASHBOARD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE IS MELTING AND REFLECTS ONTO THE WINDSHIELD HAMPERING VISIBILITY. IT ALSO EMITS A NOXIOUS ODOR.
NOTICED THE DASHBOARD ON THE PASSENGER WAS STARTING TO GET SHINY. I CHECKED AND FOUND THE SHINY AREA. I CHECK TO CLEAN IT AND FOUND IT STICKY. AS I TRIED TO CLEAN IT IT BEGAN TO SEPARATE AS IF IT WAS TAR. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THE PASSENGER IN REGARDS TO THE AIRBAG IS UNDER THIS DASH AND FOR THE DRIVER BEING BLINDED BY THE REFLECTION OF THE MELTING DASHBOARD AS IT IS SHINY. I CHECKED WITH MAZDA AND THE SAID THEY WERE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR IT AND WOULD NOT COVER ANY COST TO FIX IT. MY VEHICLE IS A 2010 MAZDA 6. I FEEL THE MAZDA SHOULD COVER THIS BECAUSE THEY SOLD A CAR WITH DEFECTIVE MATERIALS THAT CAN COMPROMISE THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE.
THE DASHBOARD IS MELTING. THE DASHBOARD ON THE PASSENGER STARTED TO LOOK SHINY. WE TOOK A CLOTHE TO WIPE IT OFF AND THE DASHBOARD IS STICKY AND ACTUALLY PEELED AND RIPPED WHEN WE TRIED TO WIPE IT. THE CONDITIONING IS SPREADING AND IS VERY STICKY. AT CERTAIN TIMES OF DAY THE GLARE FROM THE SHINEY DASHBOARD REFLECTS OFF THE WINDSHIELD MAKING IT VERY DIFFICULT TO SEE OUT THE WINDSHIELD.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 MAZDA 6. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DASHBOARD MATERIAL WAS DEFECTIVE. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE DASHBOARD WAS STICKY AND MELTED NEAR THE FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG AREA. THE DASHBOARD WAS NOT REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,000.
WITHIN 17 HOURS OF EACH OCCURRENCE, TWO TPMS (TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SENSORS) HAD BROKEN FROM CORROSION CAUSING A SUDDEN LOSS OF AIR IN THE TIRE, RESULTING IN A FLAT TIRE AND DANGEROUS HIGHWAY DRIVING SITUATION. BOTH TIRES HAD ADEQUATE AIR BEFORE THE INCIDENTS THAT HAD JUST BEEN CHECKED BEFORE THE TRIP. THE REMAINING TWO TPMS WERE ALSO BADLY CORRODED WHEN INSPECTED AND WERE REPLACED.
I AM THE SECOND OWNER OF THIS VEHICLE. ITS A 2010. I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO SEE WHY I WAS HEARING NOISES WHEN I DRIVE AND WAS ADVISED THE WHEEL BEARINGS WHERE LOOSE. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE? THIS VEHICLE IS NOT EVEN 5 YEARS OLD. PER MY RESEACH, THESE THINGS AT SUPPOSED TO LOSE FOR THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE. ITS ONLY BEEN 5 YEARS. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?
DASH CRASH PAD IS MELTING, CAUSING A GLARE AND POOR VISIBILITY ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD. THE DASH IS TURNING INTO A LIQUID AND RUNNING DOWN THE DASH. ALSO SMELLS LIKE IT IS "OFF GASSING."
TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 MAZDA 6. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V429000 (AIR BAGS); HOWEVER, THE PARTS TO DO THE REPAIR WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE ROGER BEASLY MAZDA DEALER (LOCATED AT 6825 BURNET RD, AUSTIN, TX) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE PASSENGER SIDE DASHBOARD IS MELTING. THE MELTED ARE IS VERY SHINY AND STICKY AND LEAVES RESIDUE ON WINDSHIELD IF TOUCHED BY WINDOW SHADE. THERE DOESN'T SEEM TO BE ANY IMPROVEMENT SINCE WINDOW SHADE HAS BEEN USED. DASHBAOARD ALSO SEEMS TO BE CRACKING IN THE AREA SURROUNDING AIRBAG.
TOOK MY 2010 MAZDA 6 TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR AN OIL CHANGE. AS PART OF THEIR SAFETY CHECK THEY REPORTED THAT BOTH OF MY LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS WERE OUT. I WAS QUOTED $172.00 FOR REPLACING THE BULBS. WHEN I GOT HOME I WENT TO U-TUBE TO SEE HOW DIFFICULT THIS WAS TO WARRANT THE CHARGE. ONE OF THE VIDEOS SHOWED A MAZDA 3 OWNER WITH A SIMILAR PROBLEM, THE PASSENGER SIDE LOW BEAM OUT. HE TAPPED THE OUTER LENS WITH HIS FIST AND THE LIGHT CAME ON. I WENT OUT AND TRIED THE SAME ON MY MAZDA 6 AND BOTH HEADLIGHTS CAME ON AND WERE NORMAL. IT IS OBVIOUS THAT MAZDA HAS A SAFETY ISSUE WITH THERE HEADLIGHT WIRING OR CONNECTIONS. *TR
DASH ON PASSENGER SIDE IS MELTING. STICKY FILM ALL OVER DASH. I HAVE READ THAT OTHER MAZDA 6 CARS HAVE THIS ISSUE. I HAVE PICTURES I CAN SEND
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 MAZDA 6. UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME TIGHT AND EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO TURN LEFT OR RIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,213.
THE DASHBOARD HAS BEGUN TO MELT FROM EXCESSIVE HEAT. NOT ONLY IS IT STICKY TO THE TOUCH, BUT IT HAS BECOME VERY REFLECTIVE WHICH AT TIMES CAN REFLECT & OBSCURE YOU VISION WHEN DRIVING. THIS IS CLEARLY A DRIVING HAZARD, AND IT IS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL FOR MAZDA NOT TO HELP IN THE MANNER. I CONTACTED MAZDA, THEY PROCEED TO ADVICE THAT MY WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO AND THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. THEY SUGGESTED THAT I TAKE IT TO AN AUTHORIZED MAZDA DEALER FOR AN INSPECTION. FROM THERE I WAS TO CONTACT THEIR CLAIMS DEPARTMENT (18002225500) TO SEE IF THEY COULD HELP WITH THE COST OF THE REPAIR AS PART OF AN AFTER WARRANTY AID. *TR

WHILE SERVICING A CUSTOMER'S VEHICLE, THE VALVE STEM BROKE. THIS RESULTED IN TIRE DEFLATION AND THE NEED TO REPAIR THE TPMS SENSOR AT A COST OF $73.40. *TR

MY VEHICLE'S DASHBOARD IS MELTING CREATING A GLARE WHEN I AM DRIVING AFFECTING MY VISION AND PUTTING ME, MY FAMILY AND OTHERS AT A SAFETY RISK. TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE, THE GLUE-LIKE MATERIAL IS SMEARING AND FOGGING MY WINDSHIELD ALSO AFFECTING MY VISION AND MAKING THE INTERIOR STICKY. THE CAR HAS CLOTH SEATS AND IT IS GETTING ALL OVER THE SEATS, STEERING WHEEL, CARPETS, AND CLOTHING. THE VEHICLE HAS VERY FEW MILES, THIS SHOULD NOT BE OCCURRING. IT IS DEFINITELY THE RESULT OF A DEFECT AND A RECALL MUST BE PUT IN PLACE FOR THIS SAFETY HAZARD. CONSUMERS SHOULD NOT BE EXPOSED AND HAVE TO BE INJURED OR DIE BEFORE ACTION IS TAKEN. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED TO READ THAT MAZDA AND OTHER AUTO MAKERS ARE NOT PAYING TO FIX THIS ISSUE. I HAVE CONTACT INFORMATION FOR OVER 8,500 COMPANIES IN THE U.S. AND I AM GOING TO BE SENDING AN EMAIL BLAST TO MAKE IT PUBLIC SO THAT EVERYONE STAYS AWAY FROM BUYING A MAZDA. IRONICALLY, I HAVE TO TAKE THE VEHICLE IN FOR ANOTHER RECALL ON THE DOOR LATCH THAT IS DEFECTIVE AND IT IS OPENING WHILE MY WIFE IS DRIVING. *TR
THERE ARE TWO RECALLS OPEN FOR MY VEHICLE AND FOR NONE THERE ARE NO PARTS AVAILABLE IN ANY DEALER. MY MAZDA 6 2010 HAS A PASSENGER AIR BAG INFLATOR RECALL AND A MELTER DASHBOARD RECALL. BOTH CREATE SAFETY HAZARDS FOR ME AND MY FAMILY YET THE MELTED DASHBOARD HAS BEEN AN ISSUE FOR OVER TWO YEARS AND I AM STILL AWAITING FROM MAZDA THE SECOND LETTER THEY PROMISED TO SEND ME TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO REPAIR. THE RUBBER OR PLASTIC THAT IS MELTING IS CONVERTING INTO A GLUE LIKE SUBSTANCE THAT GETS ON MY CLOTH SEATS AND WORST OF ALL, IN MY WINDSHIELD WHICH CAUSES GLARE AND DISRUPTS MY VISION. I END UP HAVING TO REMOVE IT WITH OTHER MATERIAL THAT CAUSES MY WINDSHIELD TO BECOME STICKY. THE MATERIAL ENDS UP IN MY STEERING WHEEL RESULTING IN ADDITIONAL SAFETY ISSUES. I HAVE TRIED TO SELL THE CAR BUT NO ONE WILL BUY IT IN THAT CONDITION. I HAVE BEEN PATIENT FOR TWO YEARS BUT AT THIS POINT IT IS UNREASONABLE THE AMOUNT OF TIME THAT I HAD TO WAIT. I OWN ANOTHER MAZDA BUT FORTUNATELY IT HAS NOT HAD SIMILAR ISSUES. THE SITUATION IS ABUSIVE AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN RESOLVED ALREADY. IF MAZDA CANNOT FIX IT IN A TIMELY MANNER THEY SHOULD BE PROVIDING A REPLACEMENT VEHICLE TEMPORARILY DUE TO THE SAFETY CONCERNS. I JUST CONTACTED OCEAN MAZDA IN MIAMI AND THE SERVICE DEPT. CONFIRMS THAT THEY STILL DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS FOR BOTH RECALLS. IT IS INSULTING! I AM SENDING AN EMAIL FLASH TO 21,000 + SERVICE PROVIDERS THAT THE COMPANY THAT I WORK FOR HAS IN THEIR DATA BASE SO THAT THEY BECOME AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND STAY AWAY FROM MAZDA AND THEIR VEHICLES.
THE DASHBOARD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE 2010 MAZDA 6, 2.5L HAS MELTED FROM HIGH TEMPERATURE OF THE SOUTHERN PART OF THE UNITED STATES. THE SURFACE HAS BECOME VERY STICKY AND REFLECTIVE. THE STICKY MATERIAL HAS GOTTEN SMEARED ONTO THE WINDSHIELD AND IS NOT REMOVABLE, THE MORE YOU TRY TO WIPE IT AWAY SO THE READ CAN BE SEEN THE MORE IT SMEARS BLOCKING MORE AND MORE OF THE VIEW. WHEN THE SUN HITS THE WINDSHIELD THE SMEARS COMPLETELY BLOCK THE BEHIND VIEW AND THE LIGHT REFLECTS OFF OF THE DASH SURFACE, NOW A STICKY SMEARED LIQUID, IT REFLECTS INTO MY EYES WHILE DRIVING CAUSING TEMPORARY BLINDNESS TO THE POINT I HAVE TO SLOW DOWN AND BRAKE SOMETIMES PULLING OFF THE ROAD DUE TO LOST VISABILITY. NO CLEANERS OR CHEMICAL DETERGENTS WERE EVER USED TO CLEAN THE WINDSHIELD, THE DASH MELTED FROM NORMAL HOT SUMMER TEMPS. APPARENTLY MAZDA KNEW OF THIS PROBLEM AND FAILED TO DISCLOSE IT AT PURCHASE, IF THEY DID I WOULD NOT OF BOUGHT IT. IT COSTS 1,500.00 TO FIX AND MAZDA REFUSES TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR. ONCE THIS STICKY SUBSTANCE GETS ON THE WINDSHIELD IT IS PERMANENT. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS DEFECT AND I'M SURE WILL LEAD TO DEATHS.
I HAVE HAD MY WELL MAINTAINED CAR FOR JUST UNDER 5 YEARS. IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY. I HAVE NEVER USED A CHEMICAL CLEANING PRODUCT TO CLEAN THE INTERIOR, JUST A DAMP CLOTH. I NOTICED THAT ONLY THE SECTION OF DASHBOARD THAT COVERS THE AIRBAG ON THE PASSENGER SIDE WAS STICKY. WITHIN A FEW DAYS IT BECAME PROGRESSIVELY WORSE AND ACTUALLY GOOEY. IF IT WAS TOUCHED BY A WINDOW SUN SCREEN OR BY YOUR HAND, THE DASHBOARD COLOR AND MATERIAL ROLLED OFF AND SPREAD TO ANYTHING THAT WAS ACCIDENTALLY RETOUCHED. THE 800 NUMBER MAZDA CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE CENTER TOLD ME THAT IT WAS UP TO THE MAZDA DEALERSHIP TO DECIDE WHAT COULD BE DONE ABOUT THE PROBLEM. PARETTI MAZDA AT 4000 VETERANS BLVD., METAIRIE, LA 70002 HAD ME BRING THE CAR IN ON JULY 2, 2014 WHEN THE MAZDA DISTRICT REPRESENTATIVE WAS AVAILABLE TO LOOK AT IT. AT 3:00 P.M. THAT SAME DAY, I WAS TOLD THAT I HAD TO DECIDE BEFORE 5:00 P.M. WHETHER OR NOT I WOULD ACCEPT THE OFFER OF MAZDA GIVING ME A NEW $226.96 DASHBOARD PART AND MY HAVING TO PAY $324.84 TO THEM FOR LABOR. IT WAS A ONE TIME ONLY OFFER FOR THAT DAY. THE ENTIRE SCENARIO IS UNETHICAL. I HAD NO OTHER CHOICE BUT TO LET MAZDA DO THIS JOB AND I WAS TOLD THAT IT MAY HAPPEN AGAIN IN A FEW YEARS. PARETTI MAZDA IS NOW RENTING A CAR FOR ME TO USE FOR THE NEXT 3 DAYS BECAUSE OF THE WEEKEND. *TR
MY BRAKE ROTORS ARE COMPLETELY WARPED! AFTER 6 MONTHS OF HAVING MY CAR MY BRAKES HAVE GONE OUT MULTIPLE TIMES, I DON'T NOT DRIVE MY CAR LONG DISTANCES OR EVEN ON A DAILY BASIS. I CAN BE GOING AS SLOW AS 25 MPH AND WHEN I GO TO BRAKE MY CAR WILL START TO SHAKE (NOT MUCH BUT NOTICEABLE) THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS DUE TO THE FACT IT CAN CAUSE LOSS OF CONTROL WHILE BRAKING. I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO THE DEALER AND HAD IT WORKED ON UNDER A "ONE TIME" WARRANTY MEANING THEY WILL MAINTENANCE THE BRAKE ONCE AT NO COST TO ME. EACH TIME I HAVE GONE OR SPOKEN TO MY DEALER THEY SAY THEY CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHY IT KEEPS HAPPENING AND EVEN SAID IT COULD BE NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR (WHICH IS NOT THE CASE). I AM APART OF A REGIONAL MAZDA CLUB AND EVERYONE WITH A MAZDA 6 (2009-12) SEEM TO HAVE THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM WITH THIS. ALSO, THE TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT STAYS ON. ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AFTER I PURCHASED MY CAR THE LIGHT CAME ON FOLLOWED BY THE LOUD BEEPING SOUND THAT WARNS YOU THAT YOUR TIRE PRESSURE IS LOW. I CALLED MY DEALER AND THEY LOOKED AT IT AND TOLD MY I JUST NEED AIR. WELL THE VERY NEXT DAY THE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE LOUD BEEPING FOLLOWED. A LONG WITH THAT MY PASSENGER SEAT AIR BAG LIGHT KEEPS SAY THAT THE AIR BAG IS OFF, AND THE PASSENGER SEAT LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT HAS ISSUES WITH STAY ON. *TR

THE DASHBOARD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE MELTED AND IS STICKY CAUSING A GLARE....UPDATED 07/30/15 *BF NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO CORRECT THE SITUATION. THE CONSUMER DID NOT CONTACT THE DEALER DIRECTLY. HE CONTACTED MAZDA USA CORP AND WAS INFORMED THE VEHICLE WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. THEREFORE, IT WAS NOT THEIR PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM WAS CAUSED BY OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE. UPDATED 09/01/15*B
THE DASHBOARD IN MY 2010 MAZDA 6 IS MELTING INTO A STICKY, SHINY SUBSTANCE WITH A TAR-LIKE APPEARANCE. IN SUNNY WEATHER THE REFLECTIONS CREATED BY THE METED DASHBOARD SEVERELY AFFECT MY VISIBILITY OUT OF THE PASSENGER-SIDE OF MY WINDSHIELD. WHEN TAKING RIGHT-HAND TURNS I OFTEN NEED TO CRANE MY NECK TO SEE AROUND THE BRIGHT REFLECTIONS CREATED ON MY WINDSHIELD FROM THE AFFECTED DASHBOARD MATERIAL, WHICH IS ABOUT 1 SQUARE FOOT IN SIZE. I HAVE TROUBLE SEEING PEDESTRIANS COMING FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE OF MY CAR DUE TO THE REFLECTIONS. I HAVE TRIED TO CLEAN OFF THE STICKY MATERIAL TO NO AVAIL. THIS SAFETY ISSUE IS MAKING ME FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE WHILE DRIVING MY CAR, BOTH ON THE ROAD, HIGHWAY, OR EVEN IN A PARKING LOT.
MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING ON THE NJ TURNPIKE AND THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR LIGHT CAME ON. WITHIN A MINUTE THE REAR PASSENGER TIRE WAS COMPLETELY FLAT. AFTER INSPECTED BY A TIRE DEALER, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE TPMS CORRODED AND THE NUT CAME OFF WHILE DRIVING THE CAR. THE TPMS FELL INTO THE TIRE CAUSING AN IMMEDIATE FLAT TIRE. WARRANTY DID NOT COVER THE DEFECTIVE TPMS AND MAZDA DOES NOT HAVE A SAFETY RECALL ON THIS PART. THE PART WAS REPLACED WITH A NEW RUBBER TPMS.[ORIGINAL MADE OF METAL] THIS IS AN OBVIOUS CONCERN IF MAZDA IS NOW REPLACING THE PART WITH A NEW MATERIAL. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN AS A MAJOR ACCIDENT COULD HAVE OCCURRED. LUCKILY, THE INCIDENT DID NOT RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT OR INJURIES. NOW THERE IS A CONCERN FOR THE OTHER THREE TPMS WHICH ARE ALSO CORRODED AND THE SAME ISSUE CAN HAPPEN. MAZDA NEEDS TO ISSUE A SAFETY RECALL SINCE I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE MY INFANT AND TODDLER UNTIL ALL TPMS ARE REPLACED WITH THE NEW TPMS DESIGN. *TR
THE BRAKE ROTORS ON THIS VEHICLE NEED MACHINING EACH YEAR DUE TO GRABBING. MY MAZDA DEALERSHIP HAS MACHINED THEM AFTER THE FIRST YEAR AND REPLACED THEM UNDER WARRANTY AT 30K. THE REPLACEMENT ROTORS ARE TO BE MACHINED AGAIN ON 4/26/14. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE DUE TO POTENTIAL LOSS OF CONTROL DURING BRAKING. *TR

ALSO, THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE TPMS AND PASSENGER AIR BAG WARNING LAMP ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
MY SON TOOK MY CAR TO SCHOOL. HE WAS GOING TO LEAVE AFTER SCHOOL LET OUT, HE WAS GOING TO GIVE HIS FRIEND A RIDE HOME. THIS IS A 6 SPEED CAR. HIS FRIEND GOT IN THE CAR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE, MY SON WAS TALKING TO HIS BROTHER, HE WAS NOT IN THE CAR. MY SON HAD PUT THE KEYS ON THE DRIVER SEAT, HIS FRIEND PUT THE KEY IN THE IGNITION AND TURNED THE KEY TO ACCESSORIES TO LISTEN TO THE RADIO, THE CAR HAD THE EMERGENCY BRAKE ON, AND IT WAS IN FIRST GEAR. WHEN HE TURNED THE KEY TO LISTEN TO THE RADIO THE CAR TOOK OFF!!!! I AM NOT SURE HOW FAST IT WAS GOING BUT IT CRASHED INTO A TREE AND STOPPED. THERE WAS NO DRIVER!! THERE IS A POLICE REPORT ON THIS, AND THERE WERE SEVERAL WITNESSES. MY SON'S FRIEND HIT HIS HEAD ON THE WINDSHIELD AND IT CRACKED THE WINDSHIELD. I CONTACTED MAZDA HEADQUARTERS TO MAKE THEM AWARE, AND THEY SEEMED BOTHERED THAT I EVEN CALLED!!!!! IT IS A MIRACLE A KID WAS NOT WALKING BY AND WAS STRUCK BY THIS OUT OF CONTROL CAR. *TR
MY MAZDA DASHBOARD IS MELTING. IT IS VERY STICKY, SHINY AND I CANNOT THE STAND THE SMELL OF IT. SINCE THE DASHBOARD BECAME SHINY IT REFLECTS LIGHT IN TO MY EYES AND IT KIND OF BLINDS ME SOMETIMES. I CANNOT CLEAN IT OR TOUCH IT. *TR
FOR SOME REASON THE BRAKE ROTOR ON THE LEFT FRONT WHEEL WARPS VERY QUICKLY AFTER DRIVING UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS FOR ABOUT 2 WEEKS. THE ROTOR THAT WARPS MAKES THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKE VIOLENTLY WHEN BRAKING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND IS DIFFICULT TO CONTROL STEERING. ALSO WHEN BRAKING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE SHAKING DECREASES IF THE BRAKE PEDAL IS STOMPED ON HARD BUT THIS RESULTS IN "BRAKE CHECKING" THE VEHICLE THAT IS FOLLOWING BEHIND THE CAR. TO TRY TO CORRECT THE ISSUE THE FRONT ROTORS WERE MACHINED SEVERAL TIMES, REPLACED, MACHINED AGAIN BUT THE PROBLEM PERSISTS. AT LOWER SPEEDS THE CAR LURCHES FORWARD AND BACK FORWARD AND BACK AS THE BRAKE CATCHES AND RELEASES THE WARPED ROTOR.

I'M HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY HEAD LIGHTS ON MY 2010 MAZDA 6. MY HEAD LIGHTS WENT OUT IN NOVEMBER 2013 AND I'VE CHANGED THE HEAD LIGHTS OUT THREE TIMES SINCE WITHIN A 2 YEAR TIME FRAME. I'M USING THE EXPENSIVE SYLVANIA H7 SILVER STAR ZXE HEAD LIGHT BULBS AND THEY'RE BURNING OUT. ALSO THE SEAL AROUND THE HEAD LIGHTS AREN'T SECURE BECAUSE WATER AND CONDENSATION HAS ALWAYS BEEN AN ISSUE WITH THIS CAR.

THE DASHBOARD OF MY MAZDA 6 IS MELTING. IT'S A BIG STICKY MESS, LIKE PRIMER PAINT POURED ALL OVER IT. IF ANYTHING GETS ON IT, THERE IS NO REMOVING IT. IT CAUSES A VERY LARGE GLARE IN MY WINDSHIELD LIMITING MY VISIBILITY TO A POINT THAT IT IS DANGEROUS.

DOOR LOCK SCREWS ARE UNSAFE; NEED TO BE CHECKED/REPLACED; 3. DASHBOARD HAS BEEN RECALLED DUE TO TURNING INTO A STICKY NASTY LOOKING MESS. THE WHOLE RIGHT SIDE (PASSENGER SIDE) HAS BECOME SO STICKY THAT DUST, CLOTH, EVERYTHING STICKS TO IT, AND IT CANNOT BE CLEANED. WHAT'S REALLY AWFUL IS THAT THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR NOW NO LONGER SELLS MAZDAS. THE FIRST 2 SITUATIONS ARE DANGEROUS; & THE 3RD IS HORRIBLY UNSIGHTLY.
