TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 MERCEDES-BENZ ML250. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE COLLISION PREVENTION ASSISTANCE FEATURE FAILED TO FUNCTION PROPERLY AND THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP SEVERAL TIMES. THE CONTACT APPLIED EXTREME FORCE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL AND ALMOST EXPERIENCED A CRASH DUE TO AN INTERNAL OR ELECTRICAL FAILURE. THE DEALER (MERCEDES-BENZ OF ANAHEIM, 5395 E LA PALMA AVE, ANAHEIM HILLS, CA 92807, (714) 777-1900), WHO SOLD THE CONTACT THE VEHICLE, WAS UNABLE TO REPLICATE AND DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE DEALER DID NOT PERFORM A TEST DRIVE AND INDICATED THAT THE FEATURE COULD NOT BE REPLICATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE SAFETY CONCERN AND THE CONTACT WAS WAITING TO DETERMINE IF THEY COULD PROVIDE FURTHER TESTING TO DETERMINE IF THE COLLISION PREVENTION ASSISTANCE FEATURE WAS FUNCTIONING. THE CONTACT WAS UNCERTAIN IF THE MANUFACTURER COULD PREVENT THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
