TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE HEADLIGHTS, TURN SIGNAL, INSTRUMENT PANEL, AND INTERIOR LIGHTING FAILED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE LIGHTING CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 265,000.
STEERING LOCKS UP WHILE DRIVING. WHILE DRIVING THE STEERING LOCKS UP AND YOU HAVE TO APPLY REAL FORCE REGAIN STEERING. I TOOK TO A MECHANIC AND WAS INFORMED IT WAS THE LOWET STEERING JOINT. HE INFORMED ME THAT HES ENCOUNTERED ITHIS ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS ON THIS MODEL CAR AND THERE WAS A RECAL ON THIS ISSUE. I CALLED MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP TO INQUIRE ON THE ISSUE TO BE INFORMED THAT IT WAS THE 2005+ MODEL. I THAN CALLED MY) PARTS DEALERSHIP TO ORDER THE PART TO FIND OUT THE PART IS FOR THE 2003-2014 VEHICLE WHY ISNT ALL APPLICABLE MOLDEL YEARS INCLUDED IN THERECALL
WHILE DRIVING HOME MY HEAD LIGHTS WENT OUT. I TRIED TO PULL OVER WHEN I NOTICED BUT IT WAS DARK AND NOT A GOOD PLACE TO STOP A VEHICLE. I FOUND MY HAZARDS AND TRIED TO CREEP TO A SAFER SPOT. LUCKILY I MADE IT OUT OF THIS SAFELY, I LIVE IN SAN DIEGO WHERE THERE'S A LOT A TRAFFIC AND SOME AREAS ARE NOT WELL LIT OR SUITED TO PULL OVER. I FELT LIKE THIS WAS A HAZARD THAT COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT AND RISKED MY SAFETY. I WAS SHOCKED WHEN I GOT HOME AND READ ON THE INTERNET THAT THIS IS THE MOST COMMON PROBLEM FOR A 2003 MERCURY. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FUSE WAS REMOVED TO PREVENT THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS FROM OPERATING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.

I WAS ON MY WAY TOO WORK AND MY LIGHTS CUT OFF.
2003 MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO DISSATISFACTION WITH HEAD LAMP ISSUE. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE ISSUE WITH THE HEAD LAMPS POTENTIALLY FAILING SHOULD BE FIXED NOW, AND NOT AFTER THE FAILURE. *JB
MY 2003 MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS HAS HAD AN ISSUE WITH THE LIGHTING MODULE FOR THE HEADLIGHTS. THE HEADLIGHTS WILL NOT TURN ON ANYMORE AND FROM WHAT I SEE FROM OTHERS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS MODEL IS THAT THE MAJORITY OF THE COMPLAINTS WITH THIS VEHICLE ARE WITH THE SAME ISSUE! I REALLY HOPE THAT THIS ISSUE BECOMES A RECALL SINCE OBVIOUSLY THEY ARE AWARE OF HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM. DO YOU KNOW HOW HARD IT IS NOT TO BE ABLE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT?! LET ALONE WHEN IT'S RAINY OR FOGGY OUT. I HAVE YOUNG CHILDREN WHAT IF THERES AN EMERGENCY?? THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BEFORE MORE PEOPLE GET INTO AN ACCIDENT! ARE THEY WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO DIE FIRST!? ANOTHER ISSUE I HAVE IS WITH THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS- THEY ONLY HAVE ONE SPEED- FAST. I DON'T KNOW WHY THEY WOULDN'T MAKE THEM WITH SLOWER SETTINGS, EVERY TIME IT RAINS LIGHTLY I HAVE TO TURN THEM ON FOR A SECOND AND OFF REPEATEDLY BECAUSE THERE AREN'T ANY SLOWER SETTINGS. I LIKE THE COMFORT OF MY GRAND MARQUIS BUT THESE ISSUES REALLY NEED TO GET RESOLVED OR I'LL BE FORCED TO BY ANOTHER VEHICLE AND IF THEY DON'T DO A RECALL ON THE EXTERIOR LIGHTS I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER VEHICLE FROM FORD MOTOR COMPANY BECAUSE IT WILL SHOW THAT THEY REALLY DON'T CARE ABOUT PEOPLE'S SAFETY!
MY CAR FAILED INSPECTION DUE TO AN EROSION IN THE FRAME. I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS THE RESULT OF THE AIR CONDITIONER CONDENSATION DRIPPING ON IT. AS THERE WAS NO ISSUE IN 2014 AND I DROVE THE CAR FEWER THAT 8000 MILES IN THE YEAR, I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THIS ISSUE. THE CAR IS GARAGED AT ALL TIMES AND WAS DRIVEN VERY INFREQUENTLY IN THE WINTER MONTHS. I HAVE HAD IT REPAIRED AND IT HAS NOW PASSED INSPECTION.
INTERMITTENT FAILURE OF HEADLIGHTS THROUGHOUT LIFE OF VEHICLE. HEADLIGHTS CEASE TO WORK; HIGH BEAMS WORK IF FLASH TO PASS LEVER IS CONTINUOUSLY PRESSED. ON 5/18/15, COMPLETE HEADLIGHT FAILURE, SPEED ON DRIVE HOME ESTIMATED AT 5 MPH MAX AS ROADS WERE DARK AND DRIVING WITH FLASH TO PASS LEVER ACTIVATED REQUIRES ONE HANDED DRIVING. VERY UNSAFE. SYMPTOMS CONSISTENT WITH LCM FAILURE REPORTED BY MULTIPLE MARQUIS AND CROWN VICTORIA OWNERS AND FORD BULLETIN 14N01. CONTACTED FORD AND STATED WE NEVER RECEIVED 14N01 - FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE STATED THEY WERE UNABLE TO PROVIDE COPY OF 14N01 !? AND REFERRED TO DEALER. CONTACTED DEALER WHO STATED I WOULD NEED TO PHYSICALLY COME TO DEALERSHIP FOR A COPY OF 14N01, IF THE DEALER DIAGNOSED A 14N01 ISSUE, THE REPAIR WOULD TAKE TWO DAYS. I ASKED IF A LOANER WOULD BE PROVIDED. DEALER STATED NO AND DEALER STATED THEY COULD NOT ORDER THE PART AHEAD OF DIAGNOSING THE VEHICLE PER MY REQUEST TO EXPEDITE LCM REPLACEMENT. THE GRAND MARQUIS AND CROWN VICTORIA 2003-2005 SHOULD BE RECALLED. HAS ANYONE AT FORD EVER DRIVEN WITHOUT HEADLIGHTS? THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE WHICH IS A RECALL ISSUE, NOT A STEALTH FORD CUSTOMER SATISFACTION CAMPAIGN ATTEMPT AT PACIFYING CONSUMERS WITH NON WORKING HEADLIGHTS. THIS PROBLEM WAS ORIGINALLY IDENTIFIED IN 2008; WHY ARE CONSUMERS DRIVING CARS WITH MALFUNCTIONING HEADLIGHTS IN 2015? WHY DOES A FORD OWNER HAVE TO OBTAIN A COPY OF 14N01 ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE VERSUS FROM FORD VIA EMAIL? SO MUCH FOR THE "GO FURTHER" PROMISES OF FORD; WE CAR OWNERS AREN'T "GOING FURTHER" WITH NO HEADLIGHTS.
WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT THE HEAD LIGHTS SUDDENLY WENT OUT. THE ONLY WAY THE LIGHTS WOULD WORK AFTER THAT IS IF YOU HOLD THE HIGH BEAM LEVER BACK.

AFTER TAPPING ONTO THE LIGHTING CONTROL MODULE, THE LIGHTS ACTIVATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V861000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING).THE CONTACT REPLACED THE LIGHTING CONTROL MODULE HIMSELF. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 170,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 94,000.
THE HEADLIGHTS WOULD NOT COME ON. THE ONLY WAY TO DRIVE HOME WAS TO HOLD DOWN THE HIGH BEAM LEVER THE ENTIRE TIME, THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SITUATION ONLINE WITH THIS VEHICLE AND THIS IS A SEVERE SAFETY ISSUE. THIS CAR IS OWNED BY MY 84 YEAR OLD MOTHER, LETS GET THIS RECALL DONE SO NO ONE GETS HURT. *TR

WHAT IS YOUR VEHICLE SALES OR SERVICE ISSUE?:I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM THE FORD COMPANY ABOUT GETTING MY HEADLIGHTS REPLACED. MY HEADLIGHTS DOES NOT WORK AT ALL AND I HAVE TO HOLD MY HIGH BEAMS IN ORDER TO HAVE SOME LIGHTS AT NIGHT IN ORDER TO SEE. THIS IS VERY UNCOMFORTABLE WHEN DRIVING WITH ONE HAND ESPECIALLY, WHEN I HAVE MY BABIES IN THE CAR WITH ME. WHEN I WENT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP IN MARCH. THEY TOLD ME THAT THE PARTS WERE ON BACK ORDER UNTIL JUNE OR JULY. I WENT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP (LILLISTON FORD IN KINGSLAND, GA)IN THE BEGINNING OF DECEMBER 2014. THEY TOLD ME THAT THE PARTS ARE STILL ON BACK ORDER AND THAT THEY'RE ARE 3800 PEOPLE WAITING ON THOSE PARTS. I'VE BEEN PULLED OVER NUMEROUS OF TIMES BECAUSE OF MY HANDS SLIPPING OFF OF THE HIGH BEAMS AND I'VE HAD 2 ACCIDENTS BECAUSE OF MY HEADLIGHTS. I NEED TO BE PUT IN A RENTAL CAR ARE SOMETHING UNTIL MY LIGHTS ARE FIXED. THIS IS DANGEROUS AND IS NOT A SAFE WAY TO BE DRIVING AT NIGHT. .
MY HEADLIGHTS QUIT WORKING OCCASIONALLY CANT SEE THE ROAD WITHOUT LIGHTS. *TR
MY HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING A FEW TIMES. I TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALER (AFTER LOCAL SHOP SAID IT WOULD BE EXPENSIVE, BUT MAY BE UNDER WARRANTY). THE DEALER SAID ON NOVEMBER 18TH THAT THE LCM IS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY, HOWEVER IT MAY TAKE A FEW WEEKS. THE PROBLEM IS GETTING PROGRESSIVELY WORSE. THE DEALER'S SUGGESTION FOR WORKAROUND IS TO USE THE "FLASH-TO-PASS" LEVER, WHICH MOMENTARILY TURNS ON HIGH BEAM LIGHTS. THIS IS NOT A PRACTICAL SOLUTION, HOLDING THE PASSING LIGHTS DURING A 45 MINUTE DRIVE TO WORK EVERY DAY. THE DEALER REFUSES TO PROVIDE A RENTAL/LOANER VEHICLE. I'M CONCERNED WITH THE LONG TERM EFFECTS ON THE "FLASH-TO-PASS", WHICH MAY GO OUT AS WELL, AS IT IS NOT DESIGNED FOR CONTINUAL USE LIKE THIS. I HAVE TO DRIVE TO WORK IN THE DARK EVERY MORNING, DEALING WITH INTERMITTENT HEADLIGHTS, AND TRYING TO MANUALLY HOLD THE FLASH-TO-PASS LIGHTS. THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION WHICH SHOULD BE RESOLVED IMMEDIATELY! *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE LIGHTING CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. MY BROTHER WAS VISITING FOR MY SON'S WEDDING AND USED OUR MOTHER'S CAR FOR TRANSPORTATION. HE FOUND THAT THE HEADLIGHTS WOULD NOT COME ON, AND EVENTUALLY FOUND THAT HOLDING THE HIGH BEAM SWITCH "ON", THE LIGHTS WORKED. AT THE DEALERSHIP HE WAS TOLD THERE WAS LIKELY A RECALL TO FIX THIS. SINCE HE HAS GONE BACK HOME, I HAVE BEEN RESEARCHING THIS FOR MY MOTHER. I FOUND A CLOSED "SAFETY" ISSUE, NUMBER PE08066, WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT HE EXPERIENCED. ALTHOUGH YOU HAVE A VERY LOW NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS LISTED, CONSIDER THIS: MOST OF THESE CARS ARE PURCHASED BY OLDER PEOPLE, MANY MECHANICALLY INCAPABLE IN ADDITION TO BEING UNSAVVY WITH COMPUTERS AND THE INTERNET, AND TEND TO DRIVE IT LESS, ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT, SO THE ISSUE WOULD NOT BE NOTICEABLE FOR QUITE SOME TIME. IF THEY DID EXPERIENCE THIS, THEY PROBABLY PAID SOME SERIOUS MONEY TO FORD DEALERS TO GET IT FIXED, NOT REALIZING THAT THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE AND THIS SHOULD BE FIXED FOR FREE UNDER WARRANTY BEFORE FAILURE OF THE MODULE - THE TSB TALKS ABOUT FAILURE OF THE MODULE. WELL, MY BROTHER TOOK IT IN FOR INSPECTION WITH THIS FAULTY MODULE, AND IT PASSED, SO THEN DO THEY NOT CONSIDER IT "FAILED"? MOTHER IS 91 YEARS OLD AND WOULD PROBABLY PANIC IF THE LIGHTS WENT OUT WHILE SHE WAS DRIVING IT. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE, AND SHOULD BE RATED HIGHER TO GET THE WARRANTY WORK DONE!!! I PLAN TO FOLLOW UP WITH THE SAME DEALER AND SEE WHAT THEY HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THIS. MY SUSPICION IS THAT UNTIL IT FAILS SHE WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS FIX, WHICH IS NOT CHEAP. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. UPDATE: AFTER READING THE HEADLIGHT ISSUES ON THIS SITE, HAVING HAD THE SAME PROBLEM MYSELF, I TOOK MY MERCURY TO MECHANICS AND EXPLAINED WHAT I'VE BEEN READING. THEY SAID THE LIGHTING CONTROL MODULE WAS ON A LENGTHY BACK-ORDER. HOWEVER, THEY WERE ABLE TO FIND A BROKEN SOLDER JOINT ON THE LCM, WHICH THEY REPAIRED FOR $170. THIS REPAIR LASTED 3 MONTHS AND, AS OF 1/17/2015, HEADLIGHTS RANDOMLY SHUT OFF, AGAIN WITH ONLY THE 'FLASH TO PASS' STICK PULLED IN TO ILLUMINATE THE HIGH BEAMS. *TR
HEADLIGHTS SHUT OFF UNEXPECTEDLY WHILE DRIVING IN COMPLETE DARKNESS. FINALLY FIGURED OUT I HAD TO PULL THE "SAFE TO PASS" IN ORDER TO GET THE HEADLIGHTS TO STAY ON. DROVE TO WORK WHILE PULLING THE "SAFE TO PASS" STICK ON MY STEERING WHEEL. ABSOLUTELY UNSAFE. *TR
AFTER LEAVING HOME IN THE DARK WITH NO PROBLEMS, I STOPPED AT A FAST FOOD RESTAURANT AND WENT INSIDE. WHEN I CAME OUT AND STARTED ONTO AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY, I NOTICED HOW DARK IT WAS IN FRONT OF ME. EVEN THOUGH THE LIGHT SWITCH WAS ON, I HAD NO HEADLIGHTS. I CONTINUED TOWARD THE NEXT EXIT, ONLY TO BE STOPPED BY A HIGHWAY PATROLMAN WHO NOTICED I HAD NO LIGHTS. WHILE STOPPED AND TALKING WITH HIM ABOUT THE PROBLEM, THE LIGHTS COME ON AGAIN. I'M NOW AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR IF THERE'S A CHANCE THAT I'LL NEED THE HEADLIGHTS. FORTUNATELY, THE PATROLMAN WAS SYMPATHETIC AND ISSUED NO TICKET. *TR
MY HUSBAND AND I HAVE HAD TO MAKE OTHER ARRANGEMENTS FOR US GETTING BACK AND FORTH TO WORK AFTER THE HEADLIGHTS STOPPED WORKING ON THIS CAR. WE WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHO STATED THE PART WAS ON BACK ORDER. WE WERE JUST ABLE TO GET THE PART PLACED ON 1/21/2015 AND IT WORKED FOR THE FIRST HOUR. WE TOOK IT BACK ON 1/22/2015 AND WAS TOLD THAT THE LIGHTING CONTROLS (THE SWITCH THAT TURNS THE LIGHT ON AUTO, OFF ETC) IS NOT THEIR PROBLEM. IT SEEMS THEY ALLOW THESE PROBLEMS TO OCCUR LONG ENOUGH TO ALLOW IT TO EFFECT OTHER THINGS ON THE CAR THEN STATE THERE WAS ONLY ONE PROBLEM APPROVED WITHOUT THE OUT OF POCKET. HOWEVER WE HAD NO PROBLEMS UNTIL THE HEADLIGHTS STOPPED WORKING. THE NEXT THING THAT WENT WERE THE DASH BOARD LIGHTS AND NOW THE BRAKE LIGHTS. HOW DO WE KNOW THAT DEPENDING UPON THE TIMEFRAME PROBLEM EXISTS, IT MAY HAVE AN ADVERSE AFFECT ON OTHER THINGS? THIS HAS BEEN A HUGE INCONVENIENCE AND IT SEEMS THEY WANT A FATALITY BEFORE SOMETHING IS DONE ABOUT IT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THE ENGINE RPMS INCREASED APPROXIMATELY TO 4000. THE CONTACT STATED EXCESSIVE FORCE WAS APPLIED TO THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE VEHICLE JERKED. THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS AGGRESSIVELY DEPRESSED UNTIL THE BRAKES RESPONDED AND THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO COME TO A STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DIAGNOSED. HOWEVER, THE ENGINE SPEED INCREASED TO 4,000 RPM'S/ WITH THE BRAKE FULLY DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE CONTINUED WITH A SERIES OF LUNGES AT A HIGH SPEED. ONLY BY RELEASING THE BRAKE PEDAL AND SLAMMING ON THE BRAKE, DID THE VEHICLE STOP ABOUT THREE QUARTERS ACROSS THE INTERSECTION WITH THE ENGINE AT A NORMAL IDLE SPEED. NO WARNING LIGHTS DISPLAYED ON THE DASHBOARD. THE VEHICLE HAD A HISTORY OF ALMOST STALLING WHILE COMING TO A STOP. THE DEALER DID NOT FIND ANY CODES. UPDATED 12/04/14

DRIVING AROUND A BEND ON A DARK COUNTY HIGHWAY IN SOUTHERN NJ, NO STREET LIGHTS. MY HEADLIGHTS GO OUT AND WONT COME BACK ON. SINCE MY STEERING IS STIFF, I ALMOST WRAPPED MYSELF AROUND A TREE. THANK GOD, I HAVE GOOD BRAKES AND DRIVING ON BRAND NEW TIRES ON A DRY ROAD OR I WOULD BE DEAD RIGHT NOW. I WAS DRIVING AT EARLY DAWN WHEN I REALIZED IN SOME SHADIER AREAS THE HEADLIGHTS WEREN'T WORKING. I PULLED OVER AND CONFIRMED THIS. I THOUGHT THAT INSTANCES OF INTERMITTENT HEADLIGHT FAILURE THE WEEK BEFORE WAS A MISPERCEPTION ON MY PART. I HAD RECEIVED A LETTER FROM FORD WEEKS EARLIER; FORD HAS INDEED CONFIRMED THIS PROBLEM IS DUE TO THEIR LIGHTING CONTROL MODULE, SO MUCH SO THAT FORD'S LETTER CLAIMS THAT THE COMPANY WILL COVER REPLACEMENT FOR AN ADDITIONAL 5 YEARS. MY CAR'S MODULE HAS NOW FAILED COMPLETELY. I AM UNSURE IN HOW MANY EARLIER INSTANCES, ESPECIALLY IN SEMI-LIGHTER ENVIRONMENTS WHERE IT WAS LESS PERCEPTIBLE TO ME, THIS INTERMITTENT HEADLIGHT FAILURE PUT BOTH MYSELF AND OTHER DRIVERS, PEDESTRIANS, AND BICYCLISTS AROUND ME IN REAL DANGER. THE FAILURE OF MY CAR'S MODULE HAS SINCE BEEN CONFIRMED BY MY LOCAL DEALER. IN ADDITION, I CONTACTED FORD DIRECTLY. HOWEVER, AFFECTED DRIVERS, AS WELL AS POTENTIAL FUTURE OWNERS, BOTH OF WHOM HAVE AND WILL POSE A DANGER TO OTHERS, HAVE NOT AND WILL NOT HAVE A REMEDY ANY TIME SOON, ACCORDING TO FORD, DESPITE THEIR LETTER. I PURCHASED NEW TIRES TODAY FOR THIS VEHICLE. DEALER ADVISED HAVING FRONT END ALIGNMENT CHECKED DUE TO WEAR PATTERNS ON TIRES. BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO MY FRONT END ALIGNMENT SHOP AND TOLD THEN THAT THERE IS "A FLAT SPOT WHEN TURNING THE WHEEL' THE TECHNICIAN DROVE THE VEHICLE AND BROUGHT IT INTO THE SHOP TO INSPECT THE FRONT END PRIOR TO DOING ANY ALIGNMENT WORK. THE TECHNICIAN CALLED THE PARTS DEALER AND GAVE THE VIN NUMBER AND WAS TOLD THE AVAILABILITY OF THE OEM AND AFTER MARKET PARTS. AFTER HANGING UP THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT FORD HAD PREVIOUSLY RECALLED THE 2003 GRAND MARQUIS FOR THE SAME ISSUE, (LOWER STEERING SHAFT BINDING), BUT THEY COULDN'T FIND ANY OPEN RECALL FOR THIS VEHICLE. I WAS QUOTED $270.00 FOR THE PART NOT INCLUDING LABOR, ALIGNMENT AND TAX. I BELIEVE THIS ISSUE SHOULD BE RE-VISITED IF IT WAS ORIGINALLY A RECALL ISSUE. OTHER THAN THAT I WILL HAVE TO PAY THE REPAIR BILL. AND FOR THE RECORD, THIS IS MY 4TH MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS THAT I OWN AND NEVER IN TIME THAT I HAVE BEEN THE OWNER , THIS ISSUE EVER SURFACED. I HAVE READ MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS. MY HEADLIGHTS GO OFF ABOUT 3 BLOCKS FROM HOME AND THEN I HAVE TO PULL THE LEVER BACK AND HOLD IT TO PUT ON BRIGHT LIGHTS.
