Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2005-2011 Ford Crown Victoria, 2005-2011 Mercury Grand Marquis vehicles manufactured March 23, 2004, to August 30, 2011, and 2005-2011 Lincoln Town Car vehicles manufactured March 8, 2004, to August 30, 2011, and on which the upper intermediate shaft was serviced during the course of safety recall 13V-385. The prior repairs may not have been correctly performed.
Remedy Status
Ford will notify the owners of vehicles whose repair records reflect that the upper intermediate steering shaft was repaired during the course of the prior recall 13V-385. Dealers will inspect and replace the upper immediate shaft if necessary free of charge. The recall began November 17, 2014. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 14S25.
Ford is recalling certain model year 2005-2011 Ford Crown Victoria (including Crown Victoria Police Interceptors), Mercury Grand Marquis, and Lincoln Town Car vehicles. The affected vehicles are currently registered or were originally sold in Connecticut, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. Severe corrosion can seize the lower intermediate shaft which may cause the upper intermediate shaft to collapse and the steering column lower bearing to separate.
Remedy Status
Ford will notify owners and dealers will replace the lower intermediate shaft, free of charge. The upper intermediate shaft and steering column lower bearing will be inspected to identify any damage that may have occurred as a result of lower intermediate shaft corrosion, and repaired or replaced as necessary. If the steering column lower bearing has separated, a retainer clip will be installed. The recall began on October 23, 2013. Owners may contact Ford at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's recall number is 13S08.
CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES FAIL TO CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 212, 'WINDSHIELD MOUNTING.' THE WINDSHIELD MAY NOT BE PROPERLY SECURED TO THE VEHICLE BODY.
Remedy Status
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE WINDSHIELD FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON NOVEMBER 22, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT FORD AT 1-800-392-3673.
Called Walker Ford in Clearwater, FL on 12/27/2025 at 09:35 am. I reported to them that two recalls that would pertain to my car, 13S08 and 13R01 needed to be performed as my steering bearing retainer has failed. They informed me it was repaired, but it has failed again. According to my research, regardless if its been performed or not, Ford is still liable to fix it again. The instrument lights/gauges work intermittently. The digital odometer won't display.
The contact owns a 2007 Mercury Grand Marquis. The contact stated that while the vehicle was idling, the RPM’s revved up and the vehicle lunged forward. The contact depressed the brake pedal and the RPM’s decreased. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
SMELLED GAS WHEN EXITING THE VEHICLE. CONFIRMED A FUEL LEAK IN THE FUEL TANK BY OBSERVING A FUEL DRIP. CONTINUED DRIVING THE CAR FOR A FEW DAYS. ON JUNE 15, 2020, I NOTICED A STRANGE NOISE AS I DROVE, SOMETHING RUBBING OR BUMPING ON THE FRAME UNDER THE CAR. WHILE DRIVING, THE NOISE INCREASED AND INTENSIFIED. I WAS FORCED TO PULL OVER AND CHECK UNDER THE CAR. TO MY HORROR I SAW THE GAS TANK DRAGGING ON THE ROAD. A TOW TRUCK WOULD NOT TOW THE VEHICLE. MY BROTHER AND I TIED THE TANK UP UNDER THE CAR USING A NYLON STRAP TO GET THE CAR HOME. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP TO FIX THE CAR. I NOW HAVE AN AFTERMARKET TANK ON MY CAR. FORD DOES NOT MAKE THE TANK ANYMORE.THE CAR WAS IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET WHEN THE TANK FELL. I BELIEVE THE PROBLEM WAS CAUSED BY A FUEL TANK STRAP FAILURE. THE FUEL LEAK WAS ALSO DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE STRAP SUPPORTING THE TANK. *TR
VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY STEERING WHEEL WENT ROUND AND ROUND BUT WHEELS DID NOT TURN IF I WOULD HAVE BEEN DRIVING I WOULD HAVE CRASHED.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE INTAKE MANIFOLD FRACTURED ANTI-FREEZE LEAKED INTO THE OIL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MOFFITT'S FORD LINCOLN (515-432-6336, LOCATED AT 1819 SE MARSHALL ST, BOONE, IA 50036) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE LIGHTING SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE PART WAS ORDERED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 116,699.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE HEADLIGHT MODULE WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. AN UNKNOWN DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED FOR THE SAME FAILURE, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 230,000.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE SEALS AND CLIPS INSIDE THE STEERING COLUMN WERE CORRODED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000. *TT*JB

THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 84,000. I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AT 68 MPH WHEN MY LEFT, REAR TIRE BLEW OUT AT THE SIDEWALL.
ON SEPTEMBER 29, 2017 AROUND 9-10 PM , MY HUSBAND HAD JUST PICKED ME UP FROM WORK AND I WAS 6 MONTHS PREGNANT, WE WERE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND A CAR ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY PULLED OUT FROM THE LIGHT AND HIT US ON THE DRIVER SIDE WHEEL AND FENDER AND BROKE THE STEERING KNUCKLE, THE RACK AND PINION AND BROKE THE STEERING WHEEL LOOSE, ALSO THE SUSPENSION. MY CAR WAS DISABLED FROM THE ACCIDENT. I ALSO HAD TO BE RUSHED TO THE HOSPITAL BECAUSE I WAS HAVING CONTRACTIONS SO THEY WANTED TO MAKE SURE MY BABY WAS OKAY. ALSO THE DRIVER HIT US AND RAN. THE COPS NEVER FOUND THE CAR. IN ORDER FOR ME TO GET MY CAR BACK ON THE ROAD I HAD TO PURCHASE A STEERING COLUMN, A RACK AND PINION, AND STEERING KNUCKLE AND SUSPENSION OUT OF MY OWN POCKET. I WAS NEVER INFORMED OF A RECALL.
I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE. AS I STARTED UP A HILL THE SPEED LIMIT CHANGED. I GAVE THE GAS PEDAL A LITTLE PUSH. IT WENT TO THE FLOOR WHERE IT STUCK WIDE OPEN. THE CAR LEAPED FORWARD AND I IMMEDIATELY APPLIED THE BRAKE. I REALLY HAD TO PUSH THE BRAKE AS HARD AS I COULD TO GET THE VEHICLE TO STOP. WHEN I GOT THE VEHICLE TO STOP I KNOCKED THE GEAR SHIFT OUT OF DRIVE INTO NEUTRAL. THE ENGINE WAS IDLING REALLY ROUGH BUT THEN IT SMOOTHED OUT. I DID NOT CRASH THE CAR AND CONTINUED DRIVING WITH NO FURTHER PROBLEMS. THE VEHICLE HAS 64,875 MILES ON IT AND THIS IS THE FIRST THIS HAS HAPPENED.
THE CAR HAS TOXIC FUMES COMMING INSIDE. WE USED A CARBON MONOXIDE TESTER AND IT WENT OFF WHEN WE DROVE IT.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 67,000.
