DT: GOT RECALL NOTICE LAST AUGUST ON GUARD SPRINGS ON FRONT OF CAR, AND IT IS NOW MAY AND HE CAN'T GET ANYONE TO FIX HIS CAR. DEALER KEEPS TELLING HIM THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS YET. CALLED MANUFACTURER AND THEY DID NOT OFFER ANY HELP EITHER.*AK
INTAKE MANIFOLD EXPERIENCED AN EXPLOSION AND BLEW UP. CONSUMER WAS PULLING UP TO THE DRIVEWAY WHEN THIS OCCURRED. *AK
CONSUMER FEELS THAT THE FRONT COIL SPRING RECALL 04V332000 RECALL REPAIRS WERE NOT SUFFICIENT ENOUGH TO CORRECT THE DEFECT. THE FAILURE COULD STILL OCCUR AND RESULT IN A CRASH.*AK
WHILE DRIVING AT 35 MPH CONSUMER HEARD A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR TIRE .VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE INDEPENDENT SHOP AND MECHANIC DETERMINED THEAT REAR COIL SPRING ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE BROKE AND PUNCTURED THE TIRE. *AK
CONSUMER RECEIVED, NHTSA RECALL 04V332000 REGARDING COIL SPRING. DEALERSHIP STILL DOES NOT HAVE THE PARTS AVAILABLE TO CONDUCT RECALL REPAIRS. FLOOR MANAGER INDICATED TO THE CONSUMER NOT TO CALL UNTIL DECEMBER WHEN THEY EXPECT THE PARTS TO ARRIVE. *AK THE MANUFACTURER WILL ONLY REPLACED THE FAULTY COIL SPRINGS IF THEY BREAK. FOR NOW THEY PLAN TO INSTALL PROTECTIVE SHIELDS AROUND THE SPRINGS TO KEEP ROAD SALTS OFF THEM AND TO PREVENT THEM FROM PUNCTURING A TIRE IF IT BREAKS. *NM
I RECEIVED A NOTICE OF RECALL ON MY 2000 MERCURY SABLE. THE RECALL IS FOR THE FRONT COIL SPRINGS WHICH COULD POTENTIALLY FRACTURE AND PUNCTURE A TIRE RESULTING IN A CRASH WITHOUT WARNING. THIS IS RECALL NUMBER 04S17. I RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE ON 8/9/04. THE CORRECTION FOR THIS DEFECT IS TO INSTALL PROTECTIVE SHIELDS ON THE VEHICLE TO PROTECT THE TIRES. THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THE RECALL IS DECEMBER 2004. FORD/MERCURY INDICATES THAT THEY ARE UNABLE TO CORRECT THIS DEFECT UNTIL DECEMBER 2004. IN THE MEANTIME, OWNERS DRIVING THESE VEHICLES ARE RISK IF A COIL SPRING(S)SHOULD FRACTURE AND PUNCTURE ONE OF THE TIRES WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED. THIS COULD RESULT IN A POTENTIALLY FATAL CRASH. WHY IS FORD/MERCURY PUTTING IT'S CUSTOMERS AT RISK? THE NHTSA LOGO SAYS "PEOPLE SAVING PEOPLE". WHY IS THE NHTSA PERMITTING FORD/MERCURY TO DELAY CORRECTING THIS DEFECT FOR FOUR MONTHS AND PUTTING SO MANY LIVES AT RISK? THE SAME TYPE OF DEFECT OCCURRED IN 92-93 MERCURYS AND IN MY 1992 FORD TAURUS.*AK MR. GRUB CALLED THE VEHICLE SAFETY HOTLINE DEC-13-2004, STATING THE THE DEALERSHIP IS UNABLE TO IDENTIFY WHEN PARTS WILL BE AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER IS APOLOGETIC, BUT STILL UNABLE TO ADDRESS THE DEALER HAVING NO PARTS AS STATED ON THE LETTER FOR DECEMBER 2004. HE RECEIVED THE RECALL LETTER IN AUGUST 2004.
FRONT LEFT COIL SPRING FAILED WHICH RUPTURED THE TIRE AND DAMAGED THE RIM. *MR A WEEK LATER THE CONSUMER RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER. *SC RECAL #04V332000 *JB
THE MANUFACTURER REFUSES TO REPLACE THE RECALLED COIL SPRINGS UNLESS THEY BREAK. *NM *SC *JB
THE FRONT COIL SPRING ON THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE VEHICLE FAILED. *NM RECALL CAMPAIGN:04V332000 THE DEALER DID NOT HAVE THE PARTS NEEDED TO COMPLETE THE SERVICE. THE PARTS WILL NOT BE IN FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS. THE COIL SPRING BROKE WHILE THE CONSUMER WAS DRIVING AT A LOW RATE OF SPEED. THE COIL SPRING DESTROYED THE NEW FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE. *TC *JB
(1) I PURCHASED MY 2000 MERCURY SABLE GS V6 FROM MY FATHER WITH APPX. 38,000 MILES ON IT. MY FATHER AND I KEPT IT WELL MAINTAINED AS REQUIRED IN THE MANUFACTURES WARRANTY GUIDELINES. HE ORIGINALLY BOUGHT IT NEW FROM THE MERCURY DEALERSHIP IN FARMINGTON, MI WHICH IS NOW LOCATED IN DEARBORN, MI CALLED JACK DEMMER LINCOLN MERCURY. WHEN I PURCHASED THE CAR FROM MY FATHER THE SEATBELTS WERE BOTH WORKING FINE. (2)ON THE MERCURY SABLE BOTH SEAT BELT HARNESSES (SEATBELT ROTATOR) LOCKS UP PREVENTING YOU TO ALLOW YOU TO PUT ON THE SEATBELT. CONSEQUENCES CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY, OR EVEN DEATH. *JB (3) I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP. THEY STATED THAT THE CAR HAS 64,000 MILES ON IT AND IS OUT OF THE 36,000 MILE WARRANTY SO THEY ARE NOT OBLIGATED TO REPLACE THE BELTS. THEY DID OFFER TO REPLACE BOTH SEAT BELTS FOR $200.00 PER BELT AS THEY SAID THEY WOULDN'T FIX THEM AS ITS A SAFETY ISSUE. THE CAR TO THIS DATE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. I AM CONCERNED THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM IN OTHER MERCURY SABLES AND WOULD LIKE IT INVESTIGATED IF POSSIBLE. *JB
WHILE DRIVING 8 MPH TURNING A CORNER, THE LEFT FRONT COIL SPRING FAILED AND PUNCTURED THE TIRE. THIS OCCURRED ONE WEEK PRIOR TO THE CONSUMER RECEIVING THE RECALL LETTER FOR THE COIL SPRING FROM THE MANUFACTURER. NHTSA RECALL CAMPAIGN 04V332000. THE DEALER HAS NOT RECEIVED AUTHORIZATION FROM LINCOLN/MERCURY MANUFACTURE TO REPLACE THE RIM AND TIRE. *JB *SC
WHILE DRIVING AT 40 MPH THE CONSUMER HEARD A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. AFTER DRIVING A HALF MILE THE CONSUMER HEARD THE NOISE, AND SMELLED BURNING RUBBER. THE CONSUMER DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP, AND THE MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE LEFT COIL SPRING ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE BROKE. *AK (11/23/05) *SC
ON THURSDAY, 7/8, I MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO BRING OUR 2000 MERCURY SABLE TO TOMBALL FORD IN TOMBALL, TEXAS ON THE FOLLOWING SATURDAY MORNING TO HAVE THE RECALL WORK DONE (THEY ONLY RETURNED PART OF THE RECALL LETTER, BUT IT WAS REGARDING A STOP LAMP SWITCH). TO MAKE SURE THE DEALERSHIP HAD PLENTY OF TIME TO COMPLETE THE WORK, WE DROPPED OUR CAR OFF FRIDAY NIGHT, FILLING OUT THE APPROPRIATE PAPERWORK, LEAVING THE KEYS AND ALL INFORMATION REQUIRED IN THEIR DROP BOX. WE CALLED SATURDAY MORNING AND WAS TOLD THEY HAD "FORGOTTEN" TO CHECK THE DROP BOX UNTIL 11:00 SO THE WORK WOULDN'T BE COMPLETED UNTIL 2:00 THAT AFTERNOON. THE RECALL NOTICE SAID IT WOULD ONLY TAKE ABOUT 1/2 DAY. AT 3:50 (10 MINUTES PRIOR TO THEIR CLOSING) WE CONTACTED RICK, WHO IDENTIFIED HIMSELF AS THE SERVICE MANAGER AT TOMBALL FORD. HE SAID THEY "JUST DIDN'T GET TO IT" AND IT WOULDN'T BE READY UNTIL SOMETIME MONDAY. MY HUSBAND EXPLAINED WE NEEDED BOTH OF OUR CARS ON MONDAY AND ASKED IF THEY WOULD SUPPLY US WITH A RENTAL CAR. IT WAS OBVIOUSLY TOMBALL FORD'S FAULT THAT WE WOULD NOT HAVE A CAR. RICK SAID NO, THAT THIS PARTICULAR RECALL DIDN'T CALL FOR A RENTAL CAR TO BE SUPPLIED BY THE DEALERSHIP. IT'S PEOPLE LIKE RICK WHO MAKE THIS WHOLE THING A PAIN IN THE BUTT. HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN MORE THAN HAPPY TO SUPPLY US WITH A FREE RENTAL CAR BECAUSE IT WAS TOTALLY THEIR FAULT THAT THE WORK DIDN'T GET DONE. I DON'T THINK WE WILL EVER BUY AN AMERICAN MADE CAR AGAIN. AT LEAST THE PEOPLE AT THE LOCAL TOYOTA DEALERSHIP ADMIT WHEN IT'S THEIR FAULT AND RECTIFY THE PROBLEM. IT'S OBVIOUS THAT TOMBALL FORD COULD CARE LESS IF THEY HAVE OUR CURRENT OR FUTURE BUSINESS.*AK
REAR PASSENGER SIDE COIL SPRING BROKE WHILE DRIVING AND PUNCTURED THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE TIRE. THIS OCCURRED DUE TO THE SAME DEFECT AS DESCRIBED IN THE FRONT COIL SPRING RECALL 04V332000. THE REAR COIL SPRING AND TIRE WERE REPLACED.*AK
WHILE STOPPING AT A STOP SIGN VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED. CONSUMER FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE PEDAL WHEN THE ACCELERATION OCCURRED. CONSUMER IMMEDIATELY PUT THE VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL. THIS STOPPED THE ACCELERATION. THEN, CONSUMER REVERSED THE VEHICLE SLIGHTLY AND TILTED THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE RIGHT BEFORE PUTTING THE VEHICLE BACK INTO DRIVE AND ACCELERATING.*AK
WHILE DRIVING 12-15 MPH LEFT FRONT WHEEL DISCONNECTED FROM THE VEHICLE. DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. *AK
WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH CONSUMER APPLIED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE BRAKES FAILED, RESULTING IN A COLLISION. UPON IMPACT, BOTH FRONTAL AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. DRIVER AND PASSENGER SUSTAINED MAJOR INJURIES, AND WERE TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. HOWEVER, THE DEALER REFUSED TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE. *AK
WHEN THE GEAR SHIFTER LEVER WAS PUT INTO DRIVE FROM REVERSE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE WHEN THE GAS PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THIS OCCURRED WHILE THE CONSUMER WAS REVERSING. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP, AND MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS DUE TO A FAILURE IN THE CATALYTIC CONVERTOR BECAUSE OF THE WEAK TRANSMISSION BEING USED. ALSO, INDICATED THAT THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE VEHICLES. *AK
I HAVE A 2000 MERCURY SABLE IN WHICH A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE (04S17) WAS ISSUED. A WEEK BEFORE THE SAFETY RECALL WAS ISSUED FOR THE FRONT SPRINGS A REAR SPRING OF MINE HAD SNAPPED, CAUSING A DEEP GROOVE ON THE INNER WALL OF THE REAR TIRE. I HAD TO HAVE BOTH REAR SPRINGS REPLACED AS WELL AS A BRAND NEW TIRE. I WAS TOLD BY FORD IN JUNE OF 2004 THAT I WOULD BE REIMBURSED FOR THE PARTS, LABOR, AND REPLACEMENT TIRE. AS PART OF THE SAFETY RECALL INSTEAD OF REPLACING THE FAULTY SPRINGS THEY ARE INSTALLING "PROTECTIVE SPRING SHIELDS". THIS IS NOW MARCH OF 2005 AND I STILL HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET THE "PROTECTIVE SPRING SHIELDS" INSTALLED BECAUSE OF LACK OF AVAILABLITY, AND FORD IS NOW TELLING ME THAT THEY WILL NOT REIMBURSE ME FOR THE REAR SPRINGS, WHICH ARE OBVIOUSLY AS DEFECTIVE AS THE FRONT.*AK
THE LEFT FRONT COIL SPRING BROKE, WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT. WHEN THIS OCCURRED THE SUSPENSION DROPPED. *JB BOTH SPRINGS WERE REPLACED. *SC *JB
WHILE BACKING OUT OF THE GARAGE, THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE BLEW OUT WITHOUT WARNING. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE COIL SPRING HAD FAILED. *LA THE FRONT SPRING HAD BROKEN. BOTH FRONT COIL SPRINGS AND STRUT BEARINGS WERE REPLACED. *SC *JB
MY CAR WAS SITTING IN THE GARAGE, AND WHEN I PUT IT IN REVERSE TO GO TO MY DRS, A LOUD BANG HAPPENED, LEFT FRONT SIDE OF CAR WENT DOWN, I THOUGHT IT WAS A FLAT TIRE, BUT UPON INSPECTION BY THE GARAGE, I WAS INFORMED THAT THE COIL SPRING HAD LET LOOSE AND FLEW THRU THE TIRE, FLATTENING IT!. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE TO ME, AS MY CAR IS A 2000 MERCURY SABLE, IT HAS ONLY 14,565 MILES!!. ALSO , THE DEALERSHIP, SHERMAN FORD, WESTFIELD,NY, I WAS TREATED AS I WAS DIRT!, TO THE EXTENT, MY BILL WAS MADE OUT TO A PERSON WITH A "DIFFERENT" FIRST NAME!, AND THEY REFUSED TO CHANGE IT, BUT THEY SURE WERE FAST ENOUGH TO GRAB MY "CREDIT CARD"!!!. I THEN ASKED FORD, MERCURY DIVISION(1-800) NUMBER , IF THERE WAS ANY WAY TO RECOUP ANY OF MY MONEY, AS I AM A 83 YR. OLD SENIOR, ON SOCIAL SECURITY, AND THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD CONTACT THE "SERVICE MANAGER, HE IN TURN WAS TO CONTACT THE "AREA REP, YESTERDAY, I WAS TOLD, POINT BLANK,"FORGET IT"!!! I HAVE OWNED FORDS & MERCURY'S ALL MY LIFE, MY 1ST CAR WAS A 1937 FORD CONVERTIBLE, BUT AFTER THIS TYPE OF TREATMENT, I NEVER AGAIN WILL BUY ANY OF FORDS OR MERCURY CARS!. *LA
THE AIRBAG ON THE STEERING WHEEL WAS CRACKED, THE CONSUMER HAD NOTIFIED THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT THIS ISSUE. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *JB
I JUST PAID $700.00 TO REPLACE A BROKEN FRONT SPRING THAT PUNCTURED (EXPLODED) THE INSIDE SIDEWALL OF MY TIRE IN TWO PLACES...WHILE MY CAR WAS PARKED AT MY OFFICE.*AK I FEEL VERY FORTUNATE TO HAVE NOT BEEN DRIVING THE CAR AT THE TIME OF THE SPRING FAILURE. I CAN ONLY IMAGE THE POTENTIAL DAMAGE TO MY CAR, MYSELF AND OTHERS NEARBY IF THIS SPRING HAD FAILED WHEN THE CAR WAS BEING DRIVEN. I STRONGLY FEEL THIS SPRING FAILURE IS NOT A TYPICAL OWNER MAINTENANCE COST. IT IS CLEARLY A MANUFACTURER/PART FAILURE AND I REQUESTED THE COST OF THIS REPAIR TO BE PAID BY THE MANUFACTURER. ADDITIONALLY, I STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THE MANUFACTURER CONSIDER A RECALL OF THIS PART FOR THE SAFETY OF ITS CUSTOMERS. FORD MOTOR COMPANY RESPONDED ONLY THAT THE CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY. THE REPRESENTATIVE FOR FORD STATED THIS PART FAILURE WAS A OWNER MAINTENANCE ISSUE NOT A SAFETY CONCERN. I STRONGLY DISAGREE. PLEASE RESPOND.
THE CAR WAS SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY. THE FRONT DRIVERSIDE COIL SPRING BROKE WITHOUT WARNING AND PUNCTURED THE TIRE CAUSING A BLOWOUT. THE CAR COULD NOT BE MOVED NOR COULD THE TIRE BE REMOVED SINCE IT WAS IMPAILED ON THE COIL SPRING. IF THIS HAD HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, IT COULD HAVE CAUSED AS SERIOUS ACIDENT AND INJURIES.*AK
WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH THE REAR DRIVER SIDE COIL SPRING BROKE. AS A RESULT, THE TIRE WAS PUNCTURED. THE CAUSE HAS YET TO BE DETERMINED. *AK *SC *JB
DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BELT FAILED TO STAY LATCHED PROPERLY. CONSUMER DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION, AND MECHANIC REPLACED THE SEAT BELT SYSTEM. *AK
WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE COIL SPRING BROKE. AS A RESULT, FRONT END COLLAPSED. *AK
MY 2000 MERCURY SABLE LS PREMIUM BLEW OUT THE LEFT FRONT TIRE. AT THE MOMENT I PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE TO EXIT MY DRIVEWAY. MY HUSBAND PROCEEDED TO REMOVE THE FLAT TIRE AND INSTALL THE MINI-SPARE WHEN HE DISCOVERED THE SUSPENSION STRUT COIL SPRING HAD BROKEN AND PENETRATED THE TIRE SIDEWALL. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO OUR MERCURY DEALER IN ESSEX, VERMONT WHERE NEW STRUTS/COIL SPRINGS WERE INSTALLED PLUS A NEW TIRE. THIS SPRING FAILURE COULD HAVE HAD FATAL CONSEQUENCES IF IT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE COIL SPRING WAS OBVIOUSLY DEFECTIVE DUE TO A MANUFACTURING/DESIGN FLAW. *AK
IT WAS HARD FOR THE CONSUMER TO SHIFT THE VEHICLE OUT OF PARK TO THE DRIVE POSITION. CONSUMER HAD TO START THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL IN ORDER FOR THE VEHICLE TO START. DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *AK
IN APRIL 2005, WE HAD OUR MERCURY SABLE INSPECTED AS REQUIRED IN PENNSYLVANIA. AT THAT TIME OUR MECHANIC FOUND THE REAR SPRING BROKEN ON OUR CAR. WE HAD TO HAVE THE REAR SPRINGS REPLACE BY A MERCURY DEALER. IT WAS EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE. WHEN ASKING IF THIS HAD HAPPENED BEFORE OF COURSE WE WERE TOLD NO. ALSO THE SPRINGS THAT WERE PUT ON OUR CAR ARE NOISY AND WE HAVE LOST OUR QUIET RIDING CAR. *NM
WHILE DRIVING FRONT DRIVER AN PASSENGER AIR BAGS INADVERTENTLY DEPLOYED. THE CONSUMER MANAGED TO DRIVE TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP'S MECHANIC DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *AK THE VEHICLE HAD NO EXTERIOR DAMAGE. THE INSURANCE COMPANY DENIED THE CLAIM STATING THAT THE PROBLEM WAS A MECHANICAL DEFECT. *NM
WHEN THE KEY WAS TURNED IN THE IGNITION THERE WAS AN EXPLOSION. THE AIR INTAKE MANIFOLD ON TOP OF THE ENGINE EXPLODED INTO PIECES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP INSPECTED THE VEHICLE, BUT COULDN'T INDICATE WHAT CAUSED THE EXPLOSION. THE MANIFOLD, SPARK PLUG AND 3 TYPES OF SPRINGS WERE REPLACED. *NM
WHILE TURNING INTO THE DRIVEWAY DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE VEHICLE DROPPED. AFTER TOWING THE VEHICLE TO A MECHANIC CONSUMER DISCOVERED THAT THE LEFT SIDE COIL SPRINGS BROKE.*AK
VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY CONSUMER HEARD A NOISE. UPON INSPECTION THE CONSUMER NOTICED THAT DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT COIL SPRING BROKE IN TWO. THE BROKEN COIL SPRING PENETRATED THE TIRE WHICH CAUSED IT TO GO FLAT. *AK *NM
THE CONSUMER WAS DISAPPOINTED WITH THE PURCHASE OF THE 2000 MERCURY SABLE WHICH EXPERIENCED MORE PROBLEMS THAN A NEW VEHICLE SHOULD. (NAR) *PH *CB *JB

THE DRIVER'S SEAT BELT WOULD NOT FULLY RETRACT BACK, THEREFORE IT WAS LOOSE ON THE DRIVER. DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *AK *NM
FRONT LEFT SPRING SNAPPED ON CAR WHIL;E DRIVING. *AK
WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH VEHICLE STALLED. CONSUMER TRIED TO RESTART VEHICLE, BUT VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. CONSUMER HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION, AND MECHANIC COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *AK
PROBLEMS WITH TIRE EQUIPMENT DEFLATING.*MR WHILE ATTEMPTING TO BACK OUT OF A GARAGE THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE. THE CONSUMER THEN HEARD A TREMENDOUS NOISE FOLLOWED BY HISSING. THE CONSUMER EXITED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT HE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT TIRE WAS DEFLATED. IT WAS LATER DETERMINED THAT THE STRUT AND SPRING HAD SNAPPED PUNCTURING THE TIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL REPAIR FACILITY TO BE REPAIRED. THE CONSUMER REQUESTED REIMBURSEMENT BUT WAS TOLD THAT SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TOWED TO A FORD DEALER THE PARTS COULD NOT BE GUARANTEED. *NM

FRONT DRIVER SIDE SUSPENSION COIL SPRING BROKE AT 49,000 MILES. TIP OF FAILED SPRING PUNCTURED TIRE SIDE WALL. FORTUNATELY THE CAR WAS PARKED AT THE TIME. VEHICLE COULD NOT BE OPERATED DUE TO COIL SPRING INTERFERENCE WITH WHEEL WELL PATH OF REPLACEMENT TIRE.
WHILE BRAKING, THE CONSUMER DISCOVERED THE PEDALS WERE DESIGNED TOO CLOSE TOGETHER, WHICH CAUSED THE CONSUMER TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE/ACCELERATOR PEDAL AT THE SAME TIME, WHICH CAUSED THE CONSUMER TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT. THE DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED, BUT THE PROBLEM WAS NOT RESOLVED. PLEASE PROVIDE MORE INFORMATION. *JB
