THE LOWER CONTROL ARM IN THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE RUSTED TOTALL OUT AND MY I AM SO LUCKY I DIDN'T DIE OR THE PEDESTRIAN !!!!! I LOST CONTROL OF MY CAR AND ALMOST HIT SOMEONE AS A RESULT! WHY IS THE WORLD WOULD THIS PART RUST OUT??? WHY IS SOMETHING NOT BEING DONE TO FIX THIS SAFETY CONCERN? BECAUSE NO ONE HAS DIED FROM IT YET? IS THAT WHAT IS NEEDED TO TAKE CARE OF THIS ISSUE FOR OTHER PEOPLE? THE PICTURE IS ATTACHED - SEE THE REAR WHEEL?
GEAR GETS STUCK TOO OFTEN TO MOVE. CHEAP PARTS AND IS RISKY LIKE ON A PARKING STOP TRYING TO STOP AND YOUR GEAR WONT BUDGE. MY 2013 ALTIMA TRANSMISSION HAS ALWAYS BEEN VIBRATING TOO HEAVILY, BETWEEN 1500-2500 RPM IN COLD AND EXTEREMELY HOT WEATHER SITUATIONS, EVER SINCE I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE (SINCE FEB, 2014). NOW THE TRANSMISSION COMPLETELY FAILED AND THEY ARE ASKING 4K TO REPLACE IT.
ENGINE STALLS WHILE DRIVING DUE TORQUE STALLING OF THE ENGINE. CAN COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. THIS HAS BEEN A KNOWN ISSUE OF THIS MAKE AND MODEL CVT. THEN ENGINE STALLING AND SHUTTING DOWN OCCURS AT ANY SPEED.
TRANSMISSION WENT OUT AT 80679 MILES.
THE LOW BEAM LIGHTS DO NOT PROVIDE ENOUGH LIGHTING AT NIGHT.IT IS VERY HARD TO SEE WITHOUT USING THE HIGH BEAMS.I HAVE REPLACED THE BULBS AND EVEN THE HIGH INTENSITY BULBS DO NOT IMPROVE THE LIGHTING ENOUGH TO BE SAFE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT.I SEE A LOT OF ONLINE COMPLAINTS BUT NO RECALL. I CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY ARE SAYING THEY ARE NOT AWARE OF ANY ISSUE AND WANT TO CHARGE 128$ TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM THAT I KNOW IS A INFERIOR HEADLIGHT DESIGN. I HAVE EVEN BEEN FOLLOWING FRIENDS IN OTHER VEHICLES AND THEY MENTION THAT THE HEADLIGHTS ARE VERY DIM.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TORRE NISSAN (760-777-8999, LOCATED AT 79125 HIGHWAY 111, LA QUINTA, CA 92253) WHERE NOTHING WAS DONE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT INQUIRED ABOUT TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN NUMBER: 16-102 AND WAS INFORMED TO CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 104,000.
FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG OCS DEFECT. NISSAN HAS DONE A RECALL RELATED TO THIS ISSUE BUT MY VEHICLE VIN NUMBER IS EXPERIENCING THIS ISSUE BUT NOT COMING UP IN THE DEALERSHIP SYSTEM FOR THE RECALL. CAMPAIGN #14V138000
THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE VERY DIM. NIGHTTIME VISIBILITY IS NEARLY NON-EXISTENT AS I CANNOT DRIVE ON LOW BEAM AT NIGHT. I HAVE REPLACED THE BULBS WITH PHILIPS H11 VISIONPLUS AND NO CHANGE.
CAR HAS A VIBRATING SOUND WHEN U REACH ABOUT 40 MPH FOUND OUT THAT THE ENGINE MOUNT ARE ALL BAD
CONTROL ARM BROKE WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREET. CAR REAR BECAME UNSTABLE AND WAS TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP. THEY REVEALED THAT THE CONTROL ARM HAD RUSTED THROUGH COMPLETELY ON ONE SIDE AND WAS NEARLY RUSTED THROUGH COMPLETELY ON THE OTHER.
I HAVE A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA S AND LOW BEAM LIGHTS ARE REALLY BAD AT NIGHT AND I CAN NOT SEE WITH THEM ON. I HAVE TO DRIVE WITH THE HIGH BEAMS ON WHICH IS A REALLY BAD SAFETY ISSUE FOR MYSELF AND OTHER DRIVERS. I HAVE GOTTEN BLOWN AT AND CURSED AT BECAUSE OF THIS AND EVEN GOTTEN PULLED OVER. NISSAN PLEASE FIX THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE LIKE THIS.
DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD IN MY 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA IN A 45MPH ZONE THE CAR SUDDENLY JERKED AND THE REAREND SLID TO THE RIGHT. I PULLED OFF THE ROAD AND INSPECTED THE REAR PASANGER TIRE AREA AS I COULD VISIBLY SEE THAT WAS THE PROBLEM AREA. I LOOKED UNDER THE CAR AND COULD SEE THAT THE REAR LOWER CONTROL ARM HAD RUSTED THROUGH AND SNAPPED . IF THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN ANY VEHICLE AROUND ME THIS ISSUE COULD HAVE BEEN WORSE.
THE REAR RIGHT LOWER CONTROL ARM RUSTED APART AND BROKE, LEAVING THE CAR IMMOBILE. FORTUNATELY, THE CAR WAS BEING DRIVEN IN THE CITY AND AT LOWER SPEEDS. THE CAR HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE NISSAN DEALER WHO CHARGED ME $1961 TO FIX ONLY THIS REAR ARM. THE CAR IS ONLY 6 YEARS OLD AND HAS 80,000 MILES ON IT. IT HAS BEEN CAREFULLY MAINTAINED AND THIS TYPE OF SUSPENSION FAILURE SHOULD NOT BE POSSIBLE.
RIGHT REAR CONTROL BAR SNAPPED AS I WAS DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH. MULTIPLE NEWS ARTICLES INDICATE THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THIS ON ALTIMA'S RANGIN FROM 2013-2018. HAVE SPOKEN WITH THE DEALER AND NISSAN ABOUT IMPEDING RECALL WITH NO ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OR ASSISTANCE FROM MANUFACTURER OR DEALER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHEN THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO EXIT THE VEHICLE, THE DRIVER'S SIDE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE FAILED TO OPERATE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT, PREVIOUSLY, BOTH THE REAR AND FRONT PASSENGER SIDE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES FAILED TO OPERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AT A REDUCED COST FOR THE FRONT AND REAR PASSENGER DOOR HANDLES; HOWEVER, THE DEALER (NISSAN OF VICTORIA, 6003 N NAVARRO ST, VICTORIA, TX 77904, (361) 578-5000) DECLINED TO REPAIR THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR HANDLE SINCE IT WAS STILL OPERATIONAL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
2013 ALTIMA HEADLIGHTS ARE UNSAFE. AND AFTER LOOKING THRU MANY COMPLAINTS IT LOOKS AS IF THE 2013-2015 WERE MADE WITH LITTLE CARE AT ALL TO CIVILIAZATION. THERE ARE MANY RECALLS AND HEADLIGHTS SHOULD MOST DEFINITELY MAKE THE LIST. A CAR 5-6 YRS OLD SHOULDN'T LOSE ITS HEADLIGHTS BRIGHTNESS. NEVER HAVE I SEEN THIS BEFORE IN ANY AUTOMOBILE. IT'S A SHAME YOU GUYS ARE MAKING THE PUBLIC FIX CONSISTENT PROBLEMS ON NISSANS END. NOBODY HAS AN EXTRA $1500 LYING AROUND TO FIX A HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY THAT SHOULD LAST 10+ YEARS. NOT ONLY IS THAT MY ONLY COMPLAINT, I ALSO JOIN THE LIST OF HAVING NO AIR CONDITIONING DUE TO PROBLEMS NO MECHANIC CAN SEEM TO FIX. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO SIMS NISSAN (3140 ELM RD NE, WARREN, OH 44483, (330) 460-4069) WHERE THEY CONFIRMED THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC'S DIAGNOSIS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
~2013 ALTIMA W/ 83K MILES. WE'LL MAINTAINED VIA DEALER ONLY.~ TRAVELING IN A STRAIGHT DIRECTION @ 30MPH THROUGH A RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD WITH CHILDREN IN BACK SEAT. VEHICLE LOST REAR CONTROL AND BEGAN SWERVING/FISHTAILING. I WAS BARELY ABLE TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD FOR FEAR OF THE WHEEL COLLAPSING IN ON ITSELF. VISUAL INSPECTION SHOWED RIGHT REAR CONTROL ARM SNAPPED COMPLETE THROUGH. WHEEL WAS PITCHED INWARD ABOUT 20 RESTING ONLY ON THE SPRING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE TRAVELING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED ON THE HIGHWAY, THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL NOISE. THE CONTACT PULLED OFF THE ROAD, LOOKED UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE, AND NOTICED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE SUSPENSION CONTROL ARM WAS DETACHED AND HANGING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT SLOWLY DROVE THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE SUSPENSION CONTROL ARM WAS ALSO ABOUT TO DETACH. THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC STATED THAT THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE DRIVEN TO A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO GANLEY'S MAYFIELD NISSAN (6060 MAYFIELD RD, MAYFIELD HEIGHTS, OH 44124, (440) 449-9500) WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE PREVIOUS OWNER HAD A WARRANTY ON THE VEHICLE THAT COULD NOT BE USED BY THE CONTACT WHO PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN MARCH OF 2019. THE DEALER QUOTED $200 FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND APPROXIMATELY $3,000 FOR THE REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE MODEL VEHICLE WAS NOT FOR ITS FAILURES; HOWEVER, IT WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE WARRANTY CENTER REPRESENTATIVE AT THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT SHE WOULD SPEAK WITH MANAGEMENT, BUT MADE NO PROMISES THAT THEY COULD ASSIST WITH THE REPAIR COSTS. THE CAR WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF "PARK" WITHOUT POPPING THE ACCESS COVER ON CONSOLE & PUSHING DOWN ON THE TRANSMISSION RELEASE BUTTON WITH A LONG SCREWDRIVER. STARTING HAPPENING AT APPROX 35K MILES.
The dashboard light shows that the steering wheel air bag is non functioning. This has been reported on line to Nissan for several years, and not one response from Nissan. The dealership indicates that it's a malfunction, probably a sensor, and it might require me to pay up to $5,000 to identify the deficiency. I view this as a safety issue and not one of misuse. Kindly advise when this can be resolved. Your assistance will be greatly appreciated.
I BOUGHT THE 2013 NISSAN ULTIMA WITH STOCK LIGHTS. WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT WITH MY LOW BEAMS ON I COULD NOT OPERATE THE VEHICLE SAFELY BECAUSE I COULD NOT SEE THE ROAD. I TRIED REPLACING THE LOW BEAMS THREE SEPARATE TIMES WITH HIGH PRICED LED LIGHTBULBS AND I STILL HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. I CAN NOT DRIVE AT NIGHT BECAUSE I CAN NOT SEE THE LINES OR THE ROAD. DRIVING AT NIGHT CAUSES ME TO BECOME A SAFETY HAZARD TO OTHER DRIVERS. I HAVE DISCOVERED THAT COUNTLESS PEOPLE HAVE THIS ISSUE WITH THE SAME MODEL. I CAN GET IT FIXED THROUGH NISSAN BUT IT WILL COST ROUGHLY $1,000 AND I DO NOT HAVE THAT KIND OF MONEY TO FIX A PROBLEM THAT IS NOT MY FAULT. I AM ASKING FOR A RECALL OF THIS PARTICULAR PORT OF THE CAR, OTHERWISE, IF I CONTINUE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE I HURT MYSELF OR OTHERS.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.

THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THE CONTACT STATED THERE WERE TWO OPEN INVESTIGATIONS REGARDING THE REAR SUSPENSION CONTROL ARM (NHTSA ACTION NUMBERS: EA19002 (SUSPENSION) AND PE18013 (SUSPENSION)). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
ON AUGUST 28, 2019, I WAS PULLED OVER FOR MY HEADLIGHT BEING OUT. I SMACKED THE LIGHT AND IT CAME BACK ON. I WAS ISSUED A TICKET GIVING ME TIME TO GET THE PROBLEM FIXED. I BEGAN DOING RESEARCH AFTER MY VEHICLE DID THIS TO ME THE OTHER DAY TWICE. WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 40-50 MPH THE CAR JUST SHUT OFF. LIGHTS ILLUMINED ON THE DASH BOARD AND THANKFULLY I DID HAVE POWER STEERING AND BRAKES SO I WAS ABLE TO COAST ONTO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND RESTART THE VEHICLE IN PARK HOWEVER THIS COULD BE A DANGEROUS AND DEADLY SITUATION TO EITHER ME OR INNOCENT BYSTANDERS/DRIVERS. FROM WHAT I HAVE BEEN READING THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM IN NISSANS.
THE REAR SUSPENSION ON OUR VEHICLE DETACHED UNEXPECTEDLY AND WITHOUT WARNING WHILE WE WERE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVING STRAIGHT ON A CITY STREET. THANKFULLY NO ONE WAS INJURED. ONCE THE VEHICLE NO LONGER IN MOTION IT WAS APPARENT THAT THE REAR CONTROL ARM / REAR SUSPENSION HAD DETACHED FROM EXCESSIVE RUSTED. THE VEHICLE IS A 2013 WITH NO OUTER BODY RUST. IT SEEMS LIKE THIS COULD BE A DEFECT AS WELL AS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUE.
THE THE PROJECTOR INSIDE MY HEADLIGHT IS BURNED OUT .CAUSING VISIBILITY ISSUES AT NIGHT TIME. CHANGING THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY IS MY ONLY OPTION
THE HEADLIGHTS ON MY ALTIMA ARE REALLY DIM.
I AM HAVING TO REPLACE BOTH REAR LOWER CONTROL ARMS. ME AND MY DAUGHTER WERE DRIVING DOWN THE STREET AND ALL OF A SUDDEN I HAD NO CONTROL OF MY BACK END ALMOST GOT IN A CAR ACCIDENT TOOK MY CAR TO THE SHOP AND THEY SAID BOTH LOWER CONTROL ARMS NEEDED REPLACED THEY CORRODED. DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY CONTROL ARM BROKE COULDN'T CONTROL CAR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO HAVE THE REAR SHOCKS REPLACED. LATER, THE SHOCKS MADE AN ABNORMAL RATTLING NOISE. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN BACK TO THE MECHANIC BECAUSE THE NOISE RECURRED. THE MECHANIC INSTALLED NEW REAR SHOCKS, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 69,603.*JB
TOOK MY CAR IN FOR SHOCKS AND DISCOVERED THE LOWER COTROL ARM ON BOTH SIDES WERE SEVERLY RUSTED. ALMOST TO THE BREAKING POINT.ONLY 69306 MILES ON THE CAR. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY COULD HAVE FAILED AT ANY TIME WHILE DRIVING.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DICK SMITH NISSAN OF LEXINGTON (5536 SUNSET BLVD, LEXINGTON, SC 29072) WHERE THEY INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE FAILURE WAS NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000.
HEAD LIGHTS ARE SO FUN LOOKS AS IF THEY ARE NOT ON, AIRBAG LIGHT IS CONSTANTLY ON EVEN WITH PASSENGER IN SEAT, BOTH AIR BAG LIGHTS ON DASK AND IN CONSOLE. DOESN'T MATTER IF CAR IS IN MOTION OR NOT COMPLETELY DANGEROUS

THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT OVER INTO THE NEXT GEAR. THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED IN SEPTEMBER OF 2016 AS PART OF AN UNKNOWN RECALL REPAIR THAT WAS PERFORMED UNDER AN EXTENDED WARRANTY AT GRIFFIN NISSAN (1780 E BROAD AVE, ROCKINGHAM, NC 28379, (910) 997-5516). THE MOST RECENT FAILURE OCCURRED AROUND AUGUST 12, 2019. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT ASSIST BECAUSE THE MILEAGE EXCEEDED THE WARRANTY LIMIT OF 100,000. THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER AND PROMISED TO CALL THE CONTACT BACK. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 134,000.
Headlights are very dim at night on low beam, I have to drive with my high beams because I can't see the road or signs or cars , I have almost gotten into accidents because of this, I have taken it to the dealer and they will not replace them , I contacted Nissan North America Consumer Affairs and they won't replace them they say that I'm outside my manufacturers warranty I told them that I understand that but the problem with the headlights is a manufacturers defect , I took the car to a mechanic and he told me to look on YouTube that there are other Nissan Altima owners with the same problem, so I looked it up and he was correct there are videos of mechanics that found the reason the lights are so dim , you basically have to break the housing of the light to see the problem and it is a manufacturers defect so they should be responsible for that the proof is there in the videos I should not have to buy two new headlights because the problem is there's . This has been going on for some years and I was going to give up but I wanted to find out way at night I can't see driving it is frustrating I'm 61 years old and this is not the only car I've owned. This has been going on since 2019
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED AND STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. WHEN THE CONTACT SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, IT RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. WHEN THE SHIFTER WAS PLACED IN DRIVE, THE VEHICLE STALLED. ALSO, THE TRANSMISSION MADE A NOISE AND THE VEHICLE STALLED ONCE IT WAS WARMED UP. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 106,000.
2013 ALTIMA WITH 86,000 MILES. THE LOWER REAR PASSENGER CONTROL ARM CRACKED AND BROKE OFF THE MOUNT. THIS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING ~30MPH. THIS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT. THE REAR END OF THE CAR SWERVED PRETTY SEVERELY DURING THE INCIDENT. I HAD THREE KIDS IN THE BACK SPEED SO THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. IF THIS HAPPENED AT HIGHER HIGHWAY SPEEDS IT'S QUITE A DANGEROUS SITUATION. I WAS LUCKY THIS HAPPENED AT SLOW SPEEDS AS THIS IS A MOSTLY HIGHWAY CAR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO COAST OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS POWERED OFF, RESTARTED, AND FAILED TO DRIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE AND WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 119,000.
WHILE MANEUVERING MY ALTIMA IN A PARKING LOT AT A VERY LOW SPEED, THE REAR CONTROL ARM SEPARATED FROM THE VEHICLE. SO LOUD IT STARTLED ME, AND I BUMPED A TRUCK WITH A TRAILER HITCH. THE HITCH DAMAGING THE FRONT NISSAN EMBLEM. THIS IS A SCARY FEELING. I CAREFULLY DROVE THE ALTIMA HOME, ABOUT 3 MILES FROM THE SCENE. WHERE THE VEHICLE SITS NOW. UNDRIVABLE. THIS SHOULDN'T OCCUR IN A VEHICLE WITH LESS THAN 105,000 MILES. WHAT IS NISSAN DOING TO FIX THIS ISSUE??
THE SHIFT GEAR DOES NOT MOVE TO DRIVE, REVERSE OR ANYWHERE FOR THAT MATTER ONCE ITS IN PARK. SOMEONE HAD TO SHOW ME HOW TO REMOVE THE PLASTIC CAP ON THE SHIFT GEAR LOCK & STICK MY KEY IN THERE TO GET THE SHIFT GEAR TO MOVE. I HAVE TO DO THIS EVERY SINGLE TIME THE VEHICLE IS SET TO PARK & THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY.
I WAS JUST GETTING ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN I ALMOST LOST CONTROL OF THE CAR. I WAS DOING ABOUT 35MPH AND RAPIDLY INCREASING TO HIGHWAY SPEED. THE STEERING WHEEL STARTED SHAKING VIOLENTLY AND I HAD ALL I COULD DO TO PULL OFF TO THE SHOULDER. HAD THIS HAPPENED A MINUTE LATER WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, I SERIOUSLY BELIEVE I WOULD NOT HAVE SURVIVED. QUITE FRANKLY I DOUBT I WOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO AVOID A CRASH OR ROLLOVER. AAA TOWED THE CAR TO MY NISSAN DEALERSHIP. THEY SAID THE DRIVER SIDE REAR CONTROL ARM SNAPPED IN HALF AT THE WELDS AND BROKE FREE. THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE CONTROL ARM WAS ALSO SEVERELY DAMAGED WITH CRACKS AT THE WELDS. WHILE I WAS TAKEN ABACK BY THE SEVERITY OF THE PROBLEM THE SERVICE MANAGER WAS TOTALLY UNCONCERNED SAYING THEY HAVE HAD TO REPLACE A NUMBER OF THESE. THE CAR HAD JUST BEEN INSPECTED BY THE DEALER WEEKS BEFORE. IT HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. IT IS GARAGE KEPT AND WELL MAINTAINED. I FILED AN OFFICIAL COMPLAINT WITH NISSAN ON AUGUST 19, 2019.
THE VEHICLE WILL NOT START AFTER WARM UP/DRIVING FOR A WHILE AND THEN TURNED OFF. IT WILL CONTINUOUSLY RUN IF ENGINE DOES NOT GET TURNED OFF. IN ORDER TO START THE ENGINE AGAIN, IT HAS TO COOL DOWN, THEN THE CYCLE STARTS AGAIN. IT ONLY HAPPENS WHEN HOT. IT ALWAYS STARTS COLD OR COOLED DOWN. TOOK IT TO NISSAN DEALER FOR DIAG AND THEY SAID THAT IS WAS THE FUEL INJECTORS, SO WE REPLACED THEM ON THEIR ADVICE - BUT THAT DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. THIS IS ISSUE STARTED RECENTLY. THIS IS A WELL KEPT AND MAINTAINED 2013 ALTIMA WITH THE QR25DE 4 CYL ENGINE AND ONLY ~ 92,NNN MILES.
THE HEADLIGHTS ARE A PROJECTOR BEAM, AND THROUGH THE YEARS I'VE OWNED THE CAR, THE HEADLIGHTS CONTINUE TO DIM, I HAVE CHANGED THE LIGHT BULBS 3 DIFFERENT TIMES SINCE OWNING THE CAR, NEVER TRULY SOLVING THE PROBLEM. THE HEAT OF THE BULBS CREATE A FILM ON THE PROJECTOR LENS THAT HAMPERS STRONG LIGHT TO GET THROUGH TO THE ROADWAY. THIS IS A DANGEROUS HAZARD THAT IS A DEFECT OF THE AUTOMAKER, AS THIS IS ALL FACTORY EQUIPMENT INSTALLED IN THE VEHICLE.
THE ENTIRE REAR CONTROL ARM RUSTED AND SNAPPED. COULD HAVE CAUSED SERIOUS HARM TO MY FAMILY. THIS IS ONLY A 6 YEAR OLD CAR AND SHOULD NOT BE RUSTED LIKE THIS. I WAS DRIVING DOWN ROAD HEARD A SNAP AND CAR STARTED TO WIGGLE GOT HOME AND IT BARELY MADE IT UP THE DRIVE WHILE DRAGGING THE TIRE.
MY FRONT DRIVERS SIDE DOOR HANDLE FAILED AT 71 000 ALONG WITH MY AUTOMATIC BRAKE LOCK ON THE GEAR SHIFTER.
MY 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA WAS IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET IN EARLY AUGUST JUST AFTER EXITING THE HIGHWAY WHEN THE REAR WHEEL LOCKED UP. FORTUNATLY MY DAUGTHER WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR TO A SAFE PLACE. IT WAS THE RIGHT REAR CONTROL ARM - HAD BROKEN OFF DUE TO CORROSION. THE NISSAN DEALER SAID THE LEFT SIDE WAS ALSO CORRODED AND ABOUT TO BREAK OFF. BOTH SIDE CONTROL ARMS HAD TO BE REPLACED. IT WAS REPAIRED AT A NISSAN DEALERSHIP - FOR $1535.50 ON AUG. 7., 2019. MY UNDERSTANDING IS THERE IS A SERVICE CAMPAIGN HAPPENING WHERE NISSAN IS FIXING THE PROBLEM FOR CUSTOMERS WITH THIS MAKE AND MODEL, HOWEVER, NISSAN IS TELLING ME MY VIN IS NOT IDENTIFIED IN THE CAMPAIGN. I AM FRUSTRATED BECAUSE IT IS CLEARLY THE EXACT SAME ISSUE.
