I HAVE TWO ONGOING ISSUES THAT SEEMS TO BE A VERY COMMON ISSUE WITH NISSAN ALTIMA. 1ST ISSUE IS PERIODICALLY I HAVE NO ACCELERATION ON GAS PEDAL. THIS IS VERY SPORADIC AND ONLY SEEMS TO HAPPEN WHEN THE VEHICLE IS WARMED UP. ALMOST HAD CRASH ON A COUPLE OF OCCASIONS WHILE GOING THRU INTERSECTION. SECOND PROBLEM IS PERIODICALLY THE CRUISE CONTROL WILL NOT ENGAGE. THESE PROBLEMS ARE GETTING WORSE. CAR ONLY HAS 80K MILES ON IT. 1ST APPEARED AROUND 50K MILES ON IT.
IN A VEHICLE TOTAL, GOING ABOVE 45 MILES PER HOUR , AIRBAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY , FRONT END DAMAGE
MY PASSENGER SIDE REAR DOOR DOES NOT LOCK. I'M ABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR WHEN THE CAR IS PARKED AND LOCKED. THE INITIAL ISSUE HAPPENED WHILE THE CAR WAS PARKED AND LOCKED AND ALARM WAS ENGAGED. I WAS ABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR AND THE ALARM WENT OFF. IT ALSO OPENS WHEN CAN IS ON AND LOCKED.
AIR BAG LIGHT COMES ON AND OFF RANDOMLY. HOOD RELEASE LATCH DOES NOT WORK, IT PULLS BUT THE HOOD DOES NOT POP.
THE HEADLIGHTS ARE DIM AND THERE IS NO WAY TI FIX THEM. IT;S BECOMING VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AT NIGHT CAUSE YOU CANNOT SEE NOTHING AHEAD OF THE CAR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THOROUGHBRED NISSAN LOCATED AT 5163 E 22ND ST, TUCSON, AZ 85711, (520) 618-6500, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH NEEDING THE AIR BAG SENSOR TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, 11 MONTHS LATER THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER AND THE AIR BAG SENSOR WAS REPLACED SECOND TIME. THE CONTACT STATED SHE CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER A THIRD TIME AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE SEAT BACK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 74,438.
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the driver’s side sun visor would independently lower, causing a visibility hazard. The contact initially spoke with the dealer who referred him to the manufacturer for assistance. The manufacturer was then notified and referred him to NHTSA to report a safety complaint. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 54,000. The consumer stated the vehicle was serviced and sun visor was replaced on Aug. 30, 2022.
I BELIEVE MY AIRBAGS MAY HAVE SPONTANEOUSLY DEPLOYED WHILE DRIVING ON A STRAIGHT AT AROUND 45 - 50 MPH, SHOCKING AND BLINDING ME, CAUSING ME TO VEER OFF THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND CRASHING INTO A DITCH, TOTALING MY CAR. ALL I REMEMBER WAS ONE SECOND, I WAS DRIVING AND THE NEXT, I COULDN'T SEE ANYTHING AND WAS BRAKING & SCREAMING, ON A WILD, BUMPY RIDE, NOT KNOWING WHERE TO STEER BECAUSE I COULDN'T SEE PAST THE AIRBAGS AND DUST/CHEMICALS/SMOKE.
WHILE WAITING TO TURN LEFT AT AN INTERSECTION FOR A BREAK IN ONCOMING TRAFFIC, THE CAR WILL SOMETIMES PAUSE FOR 2-3 SECONDS WHEN THE ACCELERATOR IS PRESSED, AS IF IT WERE IN NEUTRAL. THIS LEAVES ME VULNERABLE TO AN ACCIDENT WHEN IT FINALLY KICKS IN AND STARTS MOVING. WHEN HAVING TO JUDGE AND MAKE CRUCIAL DECISIONS WHILE DRIVING IS COMPLICATED BY A CAR THAT DOESN'T MOVE WHEN IT'S SUPPOSED TO I TRULY FEEL IT'S LITERALLY 'AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN.' I ALSO DON'T KNOW WHEN IT WILL HAPPEN BECAUSE IT'S NOT EVERY TIME, SO I HAVE NO WAY TO INCORPORATE THAT INTO MY DECISION MAKING WHILE DRIVING. NEITHER I WANT TO BE IN AN ACCIDENT, NOR DO I WANT TO PUT SOMEONE ELSE AT RISK.
MY NISSAN ALTIMA 2015 WILL NOT ACCELERATE ON A HIGHWAY. IT ONLY HAS 30K ON IT. I TOOK IT TO NISSAN 2 TIMES FOR THIS PROBLEM AND THEY TOLD ME THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG. JULY 21, 2019, IT WAS TOWED AGAIN WHILE I WAS ON THE LONG TRIP. OVERALL, IT HAPPENED 10 TIMES. CAR FALLS ON ITS FACE. YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO ACCELERATE. I HADS TO TOW IT 2 TIMES ALREADY. THE OTHER TIMES I HAD TO WAIT 30 MIN OR SO. WHEN ON HIGHWAY YOU GO 65, IT DROPS TO 40, THEN 20; IT SPUTTERS AND THEN YOU HAVE TO STOP. MY NISSAN ALTIMA WAS MOVING WHEN THE ACCELERATION GAVE UP NO MATTER HOW STRONG YOU PUSH THE PEDAL. THE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON TOO. I WAS IN LOGANDALE NEVADA. TURNED THE CAR OFF. THEN WAITED. AFTER 15 MIN, I WAS ABLE TO START THE CAR AND DRIVE IT BARELY AT 20 MIN PER HOUR ON HIGHWAY 15 COMING FROM LAS VEGAS TO MOAPA PAIUTE TRAVEL PLAZA GAS STATION. THIS IS SO DANGEROUS BECAUSE OTHER CARD=S DO NOT KJNOW THAT YOU HAVE ACCELERATION FAILURE AND THEY DRIVE BEHIND YOU AT 60-70 MILES PER HOUR AND IT CAN BE VERY SCARY BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP AS THE ACCELERATION DOES NOT WORK AND CAR GOERS EVENTUALLY TO 0 MILES PER HOUR NO MATTER HOW HARD YOU PUSH THE ACCELERATION PEDAL. CAR IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY AND NISSAN NEEDS TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE.
THE AC COMPRESSOR IS FAILING AND CAUSING THE 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA AIR CONDITIONER TO NOT COOL PROPERLY.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BOCH NISSAN (685 S WASHINGTON ST, NORTH ATTLEBOROUGH, MA 02760) WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH POWER STEERING FAILURE. THE POWER STEERING SHAFT WAS REPLACED ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE AND COVERED THE REPAIR COST FOR THE THIRD REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AFTER THE PREVIOUS FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,564.

I HAVE A 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA WITH ONLY 38,500 MILES ON IT. I BOUGHT IT AT 31,000 MILES. ME AND MY GIRLFRIEND RECENTLY TAKEN A TRIP TO VIRGINIA.WE WERE LEAVING THE LAST DAY AND WE CAME UP TO THE FIRST LIGHT AWAY FROM THE PLACE WE WERE STAYING AT. AS I CAME UP TO THE LIGHT MY CAR HAD JERKED REALLY HARD SLOWING DOWN AND THE RPMS WENT WAY UP. I DIDN'T REALLY THINK THAT WAS WEIRD AS IT HAS DONE THAT BEFORE ON MULTIPLE TIMES. WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN I PRESSED THE GAS AND NOTHING HAD HAPPENED FOR A SOLID 10 SECONDS IT WOULD ONLY REV UP TO 2 AND WOULDN'T GO PAST 10 MILES PER HOUR. AS THIS LIGHT WAS FAST AND IT WAS TURNING YELLOW AS SOON AS WE WERE GOING THROUGH IT THE PEOPLE WERE HONKING BEHIND ME AS MY CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AT ALL. I PULLED OVER AND CUT MY CAR OFF AND WAITED ABOUT 5 MINUTES. I STARTED OUT AGAIN AND IT HAD A HARD TIME ACCELERATING AND I PULLED OVER AGAIN. AT THIS POINT NO LIGHTS CAME ON OR ANYTHING. I THOUGHT MY CAR JUST LEFT US STRANDED IN VIRGINIA. I TURNED IT BACK ON AGAIN AND STARTED OUT AND IT WAS DRIVING NORMAL. I FIND THIS UNSAFE BECAUSE CARS AT THE LIGHT COULD HAVE STARTED TO COME THROUGH MY MY CAR IS JUST TEETERING ALONG THROUGH THE FAST LIGHT
MY LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM THAT I HAVE TO RUN THE HIGH BEAMS TO SEE AT NIGHT, I GOOGLED THIS AND THERE IS WEB PAGE AFTER WEB PAGES OF FORUMS WITH ALTIMA OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM, NOT THE BULB, BUT THE REFLECTIVE COATING INSIDE THE LIGHT ASSEMBLY AND NISSAN IS CHARGING 1000 BUCKS TO CHANGE OUT THE ASSEMBLY. YOU CANT SEE THE ROAD IF THERE IS AN ONCOMING VEHICLE, SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET HURT BADLY I NOTICED THE LAWERS IN CALIFORNA AND TEXAS GETTING A LAWSUIT AGAINST NISSAN FOR THIS ISSUE, THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL TO FIX THIS. I HAVE HAD A FEW RECALLS FOR BOTH MY ALTIMA S, A SEAT BELT AND BACK DOOR, BUT THERE WILL NOT BE A SEAT BELT OR DOOR IF YOU RUN OFF THE ROAD OR A HEAD-ON COLLISION BECAUSE YOU CAN'T SEE IN FRONT OF YOUR CAR. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO DRIVE A NIGHT IF IT IS RAINING, JUST DON'T DO IT, PLEASE HELP US NISSAN ALTIMA OWNERS
WHEN I 1ST BOUGHT THE CAR I UPGRADED THE HEADLIGHTS TO LED LOW BEAMS. THIS PRODUCED A NICE LIGHT AND THE LIGHTING INCREASED SIGNIFICANTLY WITH A VERY SHARP CUTOFF LINE. THIS WAS ABOUT 18 MONTHS AGO. NOW THE LOW BEAMS BARELY PRODUCE A BLOB OF LIGHR AND THERE IS NO CUTOFF LINE FOR THE LIGHTS VISIBLE. MY FOG LIGHTS ACTUALLY LIGHT UP THE ROAD BETTER THAN THE LOW BEAMS. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS DRIVING AT NIGHT WITH VERY VISIBLE LIGHT ACTUALLY HITTING THE ROAD. I WILL NEED TO REPLACE THESE HEADLIGHTS VERY SOON AS I DO ALLOT OF NIGHTTIME DRIVING GOING TO AND FROM WORK IN THE WINTER MONTHS. IF THE ROADS ARE WET OR DAMP THE LIGHTING DOES NOT EVEN LIGHT UP THE LANE MARKER LINES THIS MAKES IT VERY HARD TO DRIVE ESSPECIALLY ON CURVY ROADS.
I purchased this car second hand and the headlamps have been very dim since purchasing the vehicle. These are available for inspection. I cannot see without my bright lights on, even on moderately lit roadways. Driving with dim headlights is dangerous for me (as well as others) and driving with my brights on is dangerous to others. I received a letter regarding a class action on the headlamps and scheduled an appointment for replacement referencing the letter when I scheduled. When I arrived for my appointment I asked if I pay out of pocket and and am reimbursed? I was told no, they would do a spray test, and if failed, Nissan would replace. When I picked up my vehicle I was told the headlamps passed, to my extreme surprise. My invoice states “sprayed headlights with Nissan glass cleaner, headlight pattern ok”. No test was mentioned in the class action letter. I was told to contact 1-800-Nissan1 if I had a problem. I called and Nissan was apathetic. I called the number on the class action letter and was unable to speak to a person. This problem has been evident since purchasing the vehicle. Nissan refuses anything is wrong and my vehicle is practically inoperable at night.
REAR DRIVER'S DOOR CANNOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE. IT MAKE FLY OPEN WHILE CAR IS IN MOTION. WHILE DRIVING ON EXPRESSWAY, I HAD TO SLAM ON MY BRAKES BECAUSE A CAR JUMP IN MY LANE WITHOUT WARNING; BOTH PASSENGER AND DRIVER SEAT BELTS DID NOT SNATCH BACK.
TAKATA RECALL, DOESN'T ACCELERATE WHEN PETAL IS PRESSED BUT INSTEAD DELAYS FOR 3-5 SECONDS. THEN IT JERKS AND ACCELERATES QUICKLY
I HAVE A 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA S AND THE AIRBAG LIGHT HAS BEEN ON FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE FIRST TIME THEY SAID IT WAS THE MODULE AND FIX FOR $1000 - SECOND TIME THEY SAID IT WAS THE SEAT. - I DIDN'T EVEN GET A QUOTE FOR THAT. I CONTACTED NISSAN AND THEY SAID SINCE MY CAR IS NOT ON RECALL FOR THE AIRBAGS I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR IT MYSELF. IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY, I BELIEVE I CONTACTED THEM TWICE AND GOT THE SAME RESPONSE. IT PASSES INSPECTION SO I WILL JUST LIVE (OR DIE) WITH THE LIGHT ON. I JUST HOPE THE AIRBAGS DEPLOY IF I HAVE AN ACCIDENT.
TRANSMISSION WILL SHIFT INTO D2 FOR NO REASON. OCCURS FREQUENTLY.
AROUND 92,000 PRESSED ON GAS AND CAR WOULD NOT MOVE, HAD TO PRESS PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO FLOOR UNTIL IT CAUGHT THEN IT DROVE. DROVE HOME, SHUT OFF, RESTARTED IN THE MORNING WITH NO ISSUES. DROVE A FEW MORE DAYS AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN; TOOK TO CERTIFIED NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD IT WAS MY TRANSMISSION CHECKED OUT GREAT AND IT WAS MY "BRAKE SENSOR" WHICH WAS REPLACED, DROVE ANOTHER TWO WEEKS AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN. TOOK BACK IN AND WAS TOLD I NEEDED A TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT; NOTES READ TRANSMISSION FLUID SMELLED "BURNT" AND THERE WERE TINY METAL PARTICLES THROUGHOUT.
MY 2015 ALTIMA IS EXPERIENCING A SPORADIC DELAY WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP. IT WON'T REV OR DO ANYTHING FOR A COUPLE OF SECONDS NO MATTER HOW FAR DOWN THE PEDAL IS. THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT'LL GO. THERE IS NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON. I TOOK IT TO PEP BOYS STORE TO SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. THE TECH STAFF EXPERIENCE THE SAME ISSUE I WAS WHEN HE DROVE MY CAR. HE PLACE THE DIAGNOSTIC TOOL INTO MY CAR AND CAME UP WITH A CODE THAT STATED SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH MY TRANSMISSION(P0776 CODE). BECAUSE THE STORE DON NOT DEAL WITH TRANSMISSION, I TOOK IT TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND TOLD THEM THE ISSUE. AFTER RUNNING TEST THEY DID NOT FIND ANY ISSUE WITH TRANSMISSION OR NO CODE WHEN THEY INSERTED THE DIAGNOSTIC TOOL INTO MY CAR. THEY STATED THEY IS MUST HAVE BEEN CLEAR. WHAT I DONT UNDERSTAND IS HOW IT'S CLEAR WHEN NO ONE HAVE DONE ANY WORK ON THE CAR. I BELIEVE IT ONLY HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR HAS BEEN DRIVEN AND THE ENGINE IS HOT.. I EXPLAIN THIS TO THEM TOO.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE HOOD FLEW UP ON ITS OWN AND BLOCKED THE CONTACT'S VISIBILITY. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT DROVE OVER A RACCOON OR SOME TYPE OF WOODLAND CREATURE. THE CONTACT WAS NOT INJURED. THE CONTACT STOPPED THE VEHICLE, SLAMMED THE HOOD DOWN, AND DROVE HOME. THE FOLLOWING DAY, THE CONTACT CHECKED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THE EXHAUST WAS FRACTURED DUE TO DRIVING OVER THE ANIMAL. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THEY WOULD GET BACK WITH THE CONTACT SOON. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
JULY 2018: BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH HAD INTERMITTENT FAILURES - ONCE THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS ENGAGED, IT WOULD NOT DISENGAGE. THE PROBLEM WAS INTERMITTENT OVER A MONTH-LONG PERIOD. ONCE THE PROBLEM OCCURRED, THE CAR WOULD ONLY USE NEUTRAL GEAR. (DETAILED DESCRIPTION ATTACHED) HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY AT 50+ MPH AS WELL AS FROM STOP SIGNS, STOP & GO TRAFFIC. JULY 2019: BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH HAD INTERMITTENT FAILURES - THE CAR WOULD NOT START EVEN THOUGH THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS ENGAGED; THE CAR'S ELECTRONICS DID NOT RECOGNIZE THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS ENGAGED.
CAR DOES NOT ACCELERATE IF IT'S BEEN IDLING FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME, SUCH AS THE TIMING OF A TRAFFIC LIGHT. THIS HAPPENS MORE OFTEN IF THE AC IS RUNNING. HAD TO MASH DOWN ON THE GAS PEDAL AND THE CAR STILL LAGGED. THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP CLAIMED TO HAVE FIXED THE PROBLEM BUT THIS IS STILL A MAJOR ISSUE.
THE VEHICLE HAS PREVIOUSLY BEEN PART OF A RECALL RELATED TO THE PASSENGER AIRBAG SENSOR IN THAT THE SENSOR WOULD FAIL TO DETECT A SEATED ADULT AND DISPLAY THAT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG WAS OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS REPORTEDLY REPAIRED BY THE DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT IN 2017, HOWEVER, THE ISSUE HAS BEEN NOTED AGAIN. ATTEMPTS TO HAVE NISSAN DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR THIS ISSUE AS PART OF THE PREVIOUS RECALL CAMPAIGN WERE UNSUCCESSFUL. NISSAN STATES THAT THE VEHICLE IS NO LONGER UNDER STANDARD WARRANTY AND ANY COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH REPAIR WOULD BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE OWNER. NISSAN CASE #36131009. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN NOTED TO HAVE THE PASSENGER AIRBAG DISABLED WHILE STATIONARY AND IN MOTION.
MY PROBLEMS STARTED ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO WHEN I WAS HAVING SOME DIFFICULTY TURNING IN DARK INTERSECTIONS AT NIGHT. I COULDN'T SEE WELL ENOUGH TO COMFORTABLY NAVIGATE THE INTERSECTION. NOW IT IS SO BAD THAT I HAVE TROUBLE ON DARK CITY STREETS AT NIGHT SEEING UPCOMING CURVES, INTERSECTIONS, OR ANYTHING OUT MORE THAN ABOUT 20' OUT. TURNING ON BRIGHT LIGHTS FIXES THE VISIBILITY PROBLEM, BUT OF COURSE CAUSES ADDITIONAL ISSUES FOR ONCOMING TRAFFIC. I THOUGHT PERHAPS I HAD EYE PROBLEMS AND HAVE BEEN TO AN OPHTHALMOLOGIST TWICE AND THEY FIND NOTHING WRONG WITH MY NIGHT VISION. I HAVE NO ACCIDENT REPORT OR POLICE REPORTS TO ADD TO MY CONCERN YET. GUESS YOU WILL JUST NEED TO TRUST THAT WHAT I'M DESCRIBING IS A SAFETY CONCERN THAT DESERVES YOUR ATTENTION. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP WITH THIS ISSUE.
I TURNED ON MY VEHICLE WHILE PARKED AND THE RED AIRBAG SENSOR LIGHT TURNED ON. THE LIGHT WILL NOT TURN OFF EVEN WHILE I AM SITTING IN THE DRIVER SEAT. THE OCS SENSOR IS NOT WORKING AS INTENDED.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MODERN NISSAN OF WINSTON-SALEM (LOCATED AT 5795 UNIVERSITY PKWY, WINSTON-SALEM, NC 27105, 877-607-8584) AND THE AIR BAG SYSTEM WAS REPROGRAMMED. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 66,767.
The air bags were repaired ( non-accident related ) and now the airbag light has come back on.
MY NISSAN ALTIMA WILL RANDOMLY HAVE DELAYED ACCELERATION NO MATTER HOW HARD I PUSH ON THE GAS PEDAL. AT RED LIGHTS SOMETIMES MY CAR WILL NOT MOVE FOR A FEW SECONDS. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES.
LENS IN THE HEADLIGHT HOUSING IS BURNT OFF TO THE POINT IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. BIG SAFETY ISSUE. VERY DANGEROUS.
THE HEADLIGHTS ON THIS CAR CONTINUE TO GET DIMMER. THEY ARE AT THE POINT WHERE IT ISNT DRIVEABLE AT NIGHT. I CONTACTED THE DEALER BECAUSE THE CAR IS UNDER A CERTIFIED WARRANTY AND THEY ALONG WITH NISSAN CORPORATE TOLD ME ITS NOT THEIR PROBLEM. I EVEN REPLACED THE BULBS WITH BRIGHTER SYLVANIA BULBS BUT IT MADE NO DIFFERENCE. PEOPLE HAVE SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ALL OVER THE INTERNET SO CLEARLY IT IS A PROBLEM AS THE CAR IS NOT SAFE AT NIGHT. TL* THE CONTACT CALLED ON BEHALF OF A FAMILY MEMBER WHO OWNS A 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE LUNGED FORWARD AND FELT AS IF IT STRUCK A LOG. THE VEHICLE MADE A CLUNKING NOISE AND SHUT DOWN. THERE WAS NO WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO NISSAN OF LAGRANGE (706-558-3196, LOCATED AT 1050 LAFAYETTE PKWY, LAGRANGE, GA 30241) WHERE THE DRIVER WAS INFORMED TO CONTACT THE INSURANCE COMPANY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS AN UNKNOWN OPEN RECALL ON THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE RECALL REPAIR WOULD DEPEND ON THE INSURANCE ADJUSTER'S RECOMMENDATION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,594.
MY CAR KEPT CUTTING OFF WHEN I AM DRIVING. IT GIVES NO WARNING ON WHEN IT GOING TO TURN OFF. VERY DANGEROUS CAN GET A PERSON KILL WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY.
WITH NO MECHANICAL WARNING OF ANY TYPE (WARNING LIGHTS OR OVERALL VEHICLE PERFORMANCE), MY 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA HAD THE CVT (TRANSMISSION) FAIL. THE CAR STARTING TO SPUTTER AND ACT UP WHILE DRIVING IT, NO WARNING INDICATION OF ANY ISSUES STILL, AND THEN THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. STOPPING ALL FORWARD MOTION OF THE CAR. AFTER RESTARTING THE CAR, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. I AM FINDING THAT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE NISSAN 2.4L ENGINES WITH CVT, NO MATTER THE MODEL OF VEHICLE. LUCKILY I WAS NOT ON A MULTIPLE LANE HIGHWAY GOING 70-80 MPH AT THE TIME OF FAILURE AS THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN! HAD I BEEN DRIVING IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC, I COULD HAVE BEEN STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF A HIGH SPEED TRAFFIC LANE, PUTTING MY LIFE, ALONG WITH MY PASSENGERS LIVES, IN DANGER. IN SPEAKING TO MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP, THEY SEE THIS FAILURE MULTIPLE TIMES IN A WEEK. HAD MY 16 YEAR OLD, NEW DRIVER, BEEN DRIVING THIS VEHICLE AT THE TIME OF FAILURE, WE COULD BE DEALING WITH AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT SITUATION. THIS IS A DEFECT OF THE TRANSMISSION THAT NISSAN IS KNOWINGLY INSTALLING IN THEIR VEHICLES EVEN TODAY. NISSAN DID EXTEND THE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY FOR MULTIPLE MODELS FROM 2003-2010; HOWEVER THE PROBLEM WITH THE CVT HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED EVEN BY 2015.
THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT WITH LESS THAN 75000 MILES MOTOR MOUNTS BAD AND AIR BAGS DOES NOT WORK. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON CITY STREET

THE REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR CANNOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE. HAVE TO LET WINDOW DOWN TO GRAB THE OUTSIDE HANDLE IN ORDER TO OPEN THAT DOOR. REPORTED IT TO DEALERSHIP. NO RECALL ON VIN..THE PROBLEM WAS NOT SOLVED. THE DOOR MIGHT OPEN WHILE CAR IS IN MOTION.
TAKATA RECALL.... WHEN VEHICLE IS IN TRAFFIC ON HIGHWAY AT A STAND STILL AND YOU FINALLY GET TO MOVE THE VEHICLE WON'T CHANGE GEARS. THE RPM WILL GO AS HIGH AS 8 BUT THE MILEAGE WILL NOT GO UP, IT WILL STAY AT THAT LOWER LEVEL SPEED.
BREAK FAILURE BY SUDDEN - ON 05/09/19 WHEN I TRY TO PARK MY CAR, I STEPPED ON BREAK AND SLOWLY MOVE INTO PARKING SPOT; THE BREAK WAS SUDDENLY DROP INTO VACUUM WITHOUT RESISTANCE. MY BRAIN REACTION BY TRYING TO STOP A CAR, BUT SINCE THE BREAK SUDDENLY FAILURE, I CHANGED FROM BREAK PEDAL TO GAS AND CAUSE THE CAR TO MOVE FORWARD, WHICH HAD CAUSED AN ACCIDENT.
AIR BAGS: OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM - OCS (FRONT PASSENGER) - WAS TOLD MY CAR IS NOT INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL BASED ON VIN, HOWEVER, PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT GOES OFF AND ON EVEN WITH SOMEONE IN PASSENGER SEAT, DASH LIGHT IS ALSO ON. THIS HAPPENS CONSISTENTLY, WHETHER DRIVING OR PARKED.
THIS IS THE 3RD COMPLAINT. I NOW HAVE NO LIGHT PROJECTING FROM A GOOD BULB ON THE DRIVER SIDE HEADLIGHT AND THERE IS ONLY 1 FOOT OF PROJECTION OF LIGHT COMING FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT. I AM NOW DRIVING WITH MY HIGH BEAMS AT NIGHT. I FEAR FOR MY SAFETY, THE SAFETY OF MY PASSENGERS AND THE PUBLIC THAT I DRIVE BEHIND WITH MY HIGH BEAMS ON. NISSAN NEEDS TO FIX THIS DEFECT BEFORE SOMEONE IS HURT OR KILLED. I TRY NOT TO DRIVE AT NIGHT, BUT I DO HAVE THINGS I NEED TO DO OR PEOPLE I NEED TO SEE THAT PUTS MY IN DRIVING AT NIGHT. I LOVE MY CAR AND I AM CLOSE TO PAYING IT OFF, SO I WON'T BE GOING INTO ANOTHER CAR LOAN. I WANT NISSAN TO FIX THIS DEFECTIVE ISSUE ASAP.
I PURCHASED THE CAR NOV 2016 AND HAS BEEN OCCURRING SINCE MARCH 2017. RANDOMLY, IT WILL TELL YOU THAT THERE IS NO KEY WHEN YOU OPEN THE DOOR AND THE KEY IS INSIDE. IT WILL TELL YOU WRONG KEY WHEN YOU ATTEMPT TO TURN THE CAR ON. OR LOW BATTERY WHEN YOU HAVE A BRAND NEW CAR AND WIRELESS ENTRY BATTERY.

THE POWER STEERING PUMP WENT OUT IN OUR 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA. I CAUSED A VERY HIGH PITCHED NOISE AND STEERING WAS AFFECTED.
MY CAR IS UNDER WARRANTY AND AIR BAG LIGHT KEEPS SHOWING UP. ONE TECH SAID THE MODULE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND ANOTHER TECH SAID THE SEAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. NO ONE IS HELPING WITH FIXING THIS ISSUE.
