WHEN DRIVING IN HOT WEATHER OR A LONG DISTANCE (60+MILES) ON STREETS AND/OR HIGHWAY, THE VEHICLE WILL NOT ACCELERATE AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP. STOPPING IN BUMPER TO BUMPER TRAFFIC, STOP SIGN, STOP LIGHT OR EVEN AFTER HAVING TO DO AN EMERGENCY BRAKE. THE VEHICLE WILL NOT ACCELERATE UNTIL 5-10 SECONDS HAVE PASSED WITH THE ACCELERATION PEDAL PRESSED. THIS ISSUE HAS CAUSED NUMEROUS CLOSE REAR END ACCIDENTS JUST TO MYSELF. A NORMAL DAY OF DRIVING TURNS INTO A GUESSING GAME IF I WILL BE REAR ENDED DUE TO THIS TRANSMISSION ISSUE. MANY 2013+ NISSAN OWNERS HAVE THIS ISSUE AND NISSAN OF AMERICA REFUSES TO RECALL THEIR TRANSMISSIONS. AFTER THE VEHICLE FINALLY STARTS ACCELERATING, RATHER HARD DUE TO HAVING TO HOLD THE ACCELERATION PEDAL TO MAX FOR IT TO MOVE, IT LOSES POWER WHEN IT SHIFTS TO THE NEXT GEAR. RPM FALLS UNDER THE OPTIMAL RPM FOR THE GIVEN SPEED AND FEELS LIKE YOU GO FROM 1ST GEAR TO 4TH GEAR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE AIR BAGS MIGHT NOT DEPLOY IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HYMAN BROS NISSAN (LOCATED AT 11841 MIDLOTHIAN TURNPIKE, MIDLOTHIAN, VA 23113, (804) 378-3000) WHERE A DIAGNOSTIC TEST SHOWED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V244000 (AIR BAGS). THE RECALL REPAIR WAS PERFORMED, BUT THE AIR BAG INDICATOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY RESET THE FAILURE CODE. EACH TIME THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO HYMAN BROS NISSAN, A DIFFERENT FAILURE CODE WAS FOUND AND THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 34347366. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,861. *TT*JB
TAKATA RECALL- THIS CAR IS THE WORST AND HORRIBLY BUILT. IF YOU SIT IN THE CAR IT LOOKS LIKE A NICE CAR BUT IF YOU TAKE A PEAK YOU WILL SEE HOW HORRIBLE IT IS. UNDER THE STEERING WHEEL YOU CAN SEE THE WIRES HANGING OUT. THE FUEL ON THE CAR IS DONE. WE ALWAYS GET THE CAR CHECKED AND IT'S ALWAYS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE FUEL. WHICH PROBABLY HAS TO DO WITH THE 2015 RECALL THAT WE WEREN'T PROPERLY NOTIFIED ABOUT. THE WINDOWS DO A WEIRD LOCK THING, WHERE SOMETIMES I THINK I'M UNLOCKING THE WINDOW AND THE DOOR AT THE SAME TIME. I HATE THAT WE INVESTED SO MUCH INTO THIS NISSAN AND IT'S PROBABLY THE WORST CAR EVER (AND IVE ONLY HAD NISSANS SINCE I WAS 16 SO THAT SAYS ALOT). WHEN YOUR DRIVING THE CAR JERKS LIKE IT WANTS TO SHUT OFF BUT WHEN WE TAKE IT ANYWHERE THEY DON'T SEE THE PROBLEM. THE CAR IS TRASH.
STOCK HEADLIGHTS ARE VERY DIM! POLARIZED LENS NOT VERY EFFECTIVE
HEADLIGHTS ARE VERY DIM, CHANGED THE BULBS TWICE, STILL DIM. ALSO, FUEL PUMP WENT OUT.
I PURCHASED A 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA 2015 SV IN NOVEMBER 2, FROM QUEENS AUTO MALL IN QUEENS, NY. 3 WEEKS LATER THE CAR WOULD NOT GO EVEN IF I PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE GROUND. THE DEALERSHIP FIXED IT AND HAD ME PAY FOR THE NEW SPARK PLUGS. HERE I AM 3 MONTHS LATER AND I HAD TO FIX THE TPMS. THE. DRIVING THE CAR A FEW TIMES LONG DISTANCE. THIS IS WHAT STARTED HAPPENING: STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT OR STOP SIGN, I WOULD PUSH THE GAS PEDAL AND NOTHING WOULD HAPPEN FOR ABOUT 5 SECONDS THEN IT WOULD KICK IN AND ACCELERATE. I WENT TO ACCELERATE AFTER A STOP SIGN AND THE CAR WOULDN'T GO PASS 10 MILES AN HOUR WITH THE PEDAL TO THE FLOOR. THE RPM WAS RACING BETWEEN 1.5-3 RPM. THIS WOULD STOP ONCE I PRESSED THE BRAKES. IT STARTED MAKING A RACING NOISE WITH NO GAS POWER, THEN IT WOULD KICK IN AGAIN. I PULLED OVER, SHUT OFF THE CAR, AND RE-STARTED. THE CAR WAS "NORMAL" AGAIN. I LET IT SIT FOR THREE HOURS BEFORE DRIVING HOME. AND IT STARTED MAKING THE NOISE AS IF IT WAS GOING TO STALL. THE NEXT DAY I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC AND THEY TOLD IT WAS GOING TO COST ME $2,000 DOLLARS. HE ALSO SAID THAT HIS SHOP HAS BEEN FIXING THIS ISSUES ON MANY NISSAN AND THAT WHAT WAS GOING ON WITH NISSAN. ALSO ADVISED ME TO TAKE IT TO NISSAN AND SEE WHAT THEY SAY AND DO. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT, BUT LOOKING UP AND READING CARCOMPLAINTS.COM I SEE THIS ISSUE IS HUGE AND NISSAN SHOULD DO A RECALL. NOT EVERYONE HAS THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO KEEP PAYING FOR THE SAME ISSUE MONTH AFTER MONTH.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AND THE HOOD LATCH FAILED AND HOOD FLEW UP CAUSING EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO THE CAR.
MY AIR BAGS LIGHT POPPED ON AUTOMATICALLY AND NEVER WENT OFF AND I HAD JUST CRANKED MY CAR UP AND WAS SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY. EVERY LIGHT WENT OFF EXCEPT MY TWO AIR BAG LIGHTS

THE CONTACT CALLED AN UNKNOWN DEALER IN NEWBURGH, NY AND WAS INFORMED TO BRING IN THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V911000 (AIR BAGS). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
HOOD OF THE CAR RANDOMLY POPPED OPEN. WENT TO SHUT IT AND IT FELT AS IF THERE WAS TENSION WHEN TRYING TO CLOSE. DROVE IT AGAIN AND THE HOOD POPPED OPEN AGAIN. WASN'T FULLY OPEN AS THE SAFETY LATCH WAS STILL WORKING.
NISSAN ALTIMA 2015 REQUIRES THE PRESS OF THE START BUTTON AND BRAKE TO START ENGINE. THE ENGINE WILL NOT START DUE TO STIFF BRAKE. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AT THE MOMENT THIS ISSUE WAS DISCOVERED.
I AM TOLD AT THE NISSAN DEALER THAT THEY KNOW THAT THE PROJECTION LENS ON THE HEADLIGHTS ONLY LAST ABOUT 2 YEARS AND THEN THE CUSTOMER MUST SPEND ABOUT $1200 TO REPLACE THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLYS. THE DIM HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM, ON UNLIT ROADS, YOU MUST RUN THE BRIGHTS AT ALL TIMES IN ORDER TO SEE THE ROAD AND THE CURB. NISSAN DOES NOT HONOR ANY TYPE OF WARRANTY ON THIS ISSUE, HOWEVER THEY HAVE GIVEN THEIR SERVICE DEPT A BULLITIN SO THAT THEY KNOW OF THIS PROBLEM. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO THE REPAIR FEES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 97,000.
TAKATA RECALL THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY IN A PARKING LOT. SOMEONE BACKED INTO MY FRONT BUMPER & DROVE AWAY. MY INSURANCE COMPANY HAS THE PICTURES STATE FARM. I HAD THE BUMPER REPAIRED, THE COLLISION COMPANY TOLD ME TO TAKE MY CAR TO A NISSAN DEALER TO SEE WHY THE AIRBAG LIGHT WAS STILL ON. SERRA NISSAN TOLD ME I NEED A NEW AIRBAG
AIR BAG LIGHT WENT ON SO WE TOOK IT IN FOR SERVICE. VEHICLE HAS 60K MILES AND HAS NEVER BEEN INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. ED MARTIN FISHERS IN NISSAN SAID THAT REPLACING THE DRIVERS SIDE AIRBAG MAY FIX THE ISSUE. ITS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AND THE REPLACEMENT IS APPROXIMATELY $1400. HOW IS THIS NOT A COVERED RECALL OR WARRANTY ISSUE. IT SHOULD'T BE A WEAR AND TEAR ITEM AND THERE IS NOTHING WE DID TO BREAK THE AIR BAG?

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND A CASE WAS OPENED. THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED TO CALL NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,300.
AFTER DRIVING IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES. SOMETIMES THE GAS PEDAL DOESN'T RESPOND PROPERLY IT STALLS AND GOES SLOW BUILDING UP SPEED DOESN'T RESPOND LIKES IT SHOULD. TAKES A FEW SECONDS TO REACH PROPER RESPONSE
I JUST PURCHASED A 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA 3.5 SL SEDAN. WHILE TAKING FOR A TEST DRIVE AFTER RECEIVING THE VEHICLE, MY 12-YEAR-OLD ROLLED DOWN THE WINDOW PART WAY AND HER DOOR POPPED OPEN! I HAD TO PULL OVER TO CLOSE THE DOOR. IT HAPPENED AGAIN YESTERDAY WHILE PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY. I ROLLED DOWN THE WINDOW AND THE DOOR IMMEDIATELY POPPED OPEN. I COULD NOT CLOSE THE DOOR UNTIL I ROLLED THE WINDOW BACK UP. I LEARNED OF THE RECALL FOR THE WINDOW HITTING THE DOOR RELEASE AND REPORTED IT TO MY LOCAL NISSAN SERVICE CENTER WHERE I TOOK IT AS WELL AS TO NISSAN NA. I WAS GIVEN A CASE NUMBER AND A REPRESENTATIVE CONTACTED ME TODAY TO LET ME KNOW THAT MY VIN IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL AND THAT NISSAN WILL NOT DO ANYTHING FOR ME, EVEN THOUGH THIS IS DANGEROUS! SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE TO MAKE MANUFACTURERS FIX SAFETY ISSUES THAT COME UP EVEN IF THEY ARE NOT INCLUDED IN A POOL OF VINS TARGETED IN RECALL CAMPAIGNS. NISSAN KNOWS THERE IS A PROBLEM AND NEEDS TO FIX THEM ALL, NOT JUST CHOICE ONES. DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT 75MPH AND THE CAR STARTS JERKING AND I WAS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE I BELIEVED THE CAR WOULD STOP. I MANAGED TO TO GET OUT OF THE FREEWAY WITH THE SPEED COMING DOWN AND THEN MY CAR GAVE OUT . IT IS A SAFETY CONCERN. SOMETIMES I AM AT A REDLIGHT AND MY CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE. I HAVE 70,000 MILES ON MY CAR.
STARTED THE CRUISE CONTROL WHEN TRYING TO APPLY THE BRAKES THE BRAKES DIDN'T WORK. PUMP BRAKES CONTINUOUSLY AND THE CAR WOULDN'T STOP.OAT CONTROL OF THE CAR AND PLUNGED INTO A DITCH.

THE CLASP FRACTURED THE FLOORBOARD AND WATER LEAKED INTO THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE RAIN. THE CONTACT'S LEGS AND FEET BECAME SOAKED. THE CONTACT DRIED OFF THE INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE AT A NEARBY FUEL STATION AND DROVE HOME. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000.
I CANNOT RECALL THE EXACT DATE, BUT LATE 2018/EARLY 2019, WHILE DRIVING DOWN A RESIDENTIAL STREET I NOTICED HOW DIM MY HEADLIGHTS WERE. BEING THAT MY CAR IS A 2015 MODEL, I NAIVELY EQUATED IT TO AGE AND LIGHTBULB DIMNESS; WHICH WAS NOT THE CASE. I SWAPPED HEAD LIGHT BULBS, TO NO AVAIL; I OPTED FOR THE MOST EXPENSIVE HEAD LIGHT BULB IN AUTOZONE, BUT STILL HELLA DIM. IN MY MOST RECENT VISIT TO SHEEHY NISSAN SERVICE, A RECOMMENDED SERVICE IS TO "REPLACE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY/BAD REFLECTIONS." IN ADDITION TO THE SERVICE BEING RECOMMENDED, I WAS INFORMED THAT IT HAS BEEN A PROBLEM VOICED TO SERVICE TECHS BY MANY OTHER 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA OWNERS.
THE HEADLIGHTS FOR THIS VEHICLE ARE EXTREMELY DIM AND UNSAFE WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT! THEY ARE SO DIM THAT OTHER ONCOMING CARS WILL FLASH THEIR HEADLIGHTS AT ME THINKING I AM USING RUNNING DAYLIGHTS OR HAVE NO LIGHTS ON AT ALL!! I CANNOT SEE THE ROAD WELL AT NIGHT AT ALL AND AM FORCED TO USE THE HIGH BEAMS FOR SAFETY! I ORIGINALLY BELIEVED THAT THE ISSUE WAS THE BULBS THEMSELVES AND I HAVE REPLACED THEM TWICE WITH NO RESOLUTION TO THE ISSUE. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE LITERALLY OFF THE SHOWROOM FLOOR WITH 9 MILES ON IT, IN FEB 2016. THE FIRST BULB REPLACEMENT WAS ON 2.16.2019, AND I HAVE DOCUMENTATION SUPPORTING THAT REPLACEMENT. THE SECOND REPLACEMENT WAS ON 2.22.2020, WHICH I DID MYSELF AS THE COST OF THE LABOR WAS TOO HIGH. THIS ALSO DID NOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE. WHEN I REACHED OUT TO THE DEALERSHIP THAT SOLD ME THE VEHICLE, THEY ADVISED THAT IT WAS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE PROJECTOR REFLECTIVE FINISH INSIDE THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY. THEY STATED THAT NISSAN WAS WELL AWARE OF THE ISSUE, HOWEVER THEY HAVE NO PLANS ON A SAFETY RECALL AND MY ONLY SOLUTION IS TO REPLACE THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY, FOR A WHOPPING $880! NISSAN NEEDS TO OWN UP TO THIS SAFETY HAZARD AND TAKE CARE OF ITS CONSUMERS. I HAVE BEEN A LOYAL NISSAN CUSTOMER - HAVE PURCHASED FOUR VEHICLES WITHIN 6 YEARS - ALL NEW AND THIS IS HOW I AM TREATED? HOW EVERYONE WITH THE SAME VEHICLE AND ISSUE IS TREATED? THERE IS A CLASS ACTION INVESTIGATION HAPPENING RIGHT NOW OVER THIS ISSUE, ANYONE WHO HAS NOT SHARED THEIR EXPERIENCE, NEEDS TO DO SO!
MY DOOR LATCH ON THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR STOPPED LATCHING TO CLOSE THE DOOR WHEN LETTING THE WINDOW DOWN NOW DOOR STAYS OPEN WHEN DRIVING.ITS NOT LATCHED THE LOCK ISN'T CATCHING AND DOOR HANDLE TO OPEN THE DOOR IS LOOSE. I WAS TRYI G TO CLOSE THE DOOR AND THE HANDLE IS NOT LATCHING WHEN I WAS COMING HOME FROM THE GROCERY STORE WITH MR CHILDREN THEY HAVE A RECALL FOR THE BACK DOORS ON THIS TYPE OF CAR BUT THIS IS THE FRONT DOOR DOING THE SAME THING AS THE BACK DOOR IN THE RECALL IT'S JUST THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR.

THE FAILURE PREVENTED THE CONTACT FROM LOCKING AND UNLOCKING THE DOORS. ROUND ROCK NISSAN (3050 NORTH I-35, ROUND ROCK, TX 78681) STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN TSB NUMBER: 16-028. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 67,500.
THE INTERIOR LIGHTS DON'T WORK I HAVE A PUSH START AND I HAVE TO USE MY KEY TO UNLOCK/LOCK THE DOORS. THE BEEPER DOESN'T WORK AND THE BATTERY HAS BEEN REPLACED SEVERAL TIMES. MY CAR ALSO DRIVES AS IF IT'S IN NEUTRAL AND WON'T PICK UP SPEED. I HAVE TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND START IT BACK UP FOR IT TO STOP BUT IT WILL DO IT CONSTANTLY. I HAVE TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP NUMEROUS OF TIMES AND THEY ALWAYS TELL ME THEY CAN'T FIND AN ISSUE. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR A YEAR NOW.
THE DRIVER'SIDE LOW BEAM HEAD LIGHT DOES NOT PROVIDE ANY SIDE LIGHT ALL OR FRONT LIGHT GREATER THAN 10 FEET. THE LIGHT BULBS FOR BOTH LOW BEAMS WERE REPLACED WITH LED BULBS 02/03/2019, WHICH MADE NO DIFFERENCE IN THE DRIVER'S SIDE POWER. THE LACK OF LIGHT POWER MAKES DRIVING AT NIGHT EXTREMELY DIFFICULT ESPECIALLY LEFT TURNS WHICH HAS ALMOST CAUSED ME TO HAVE HAD AN ACCIDENT DUE TO THE INABILITY TO SEE DURING A LEFT TURN. THIS PROBLEM BEGAN IN JUNE 2017, THE CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW IN MARCH 2015.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE BUT, PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE. A CASE WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE PAST 25 MPH WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SANSONE NISSAN (90-100 US-1, AVENEL, NJ 07001, (888) 437-1763) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED TO PAY 90% OF THE REPAIR COST. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 71,000.
POOR LOW LIGHTING
DIM HEADLIGHT PROBLEM
THE HEADLIGHTS ON LOW BEAM ARE BECOMING LESS EFFECTIVE AT LIGHTING UP THE ROAD AT NIGHT. THIS BEGAN IN 2017, BUT HAS GOTTEN WORSE. THE HIGH BEAMS WORK JUST FINE, BUT THE LOW BEAMS ARE TERRIBLY DIM ON ROADS THAT HAVE NO STREET LIGHTS. ON ROADS WITH STREET LIGHTS, I FEEL LIKE I'M DRIVING WITH THE LIGHTS TURNED OFF. THE CAR IS BECOMING DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AT NIGHT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING 35-65 MPH, AN ABNORMAL NOISE WAS HEARD UNDER THE HOOD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED TO CALL THE MANUFACTURER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN MANUFACTURER TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN: 15-102. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
EXTREMELY DIM LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS. I CAN BARELY SEE MORE THAN A FEW CAR LENGTHS AHEAD OF ME AND IT FEELS VERY UNSAFE AT NIGHT. I NEED THIS TO BE FIXED.
LOW-BEAM HEADLIGHTS BECAME INCREASINGLY DIM OVER SEVERAL MONTHS TO THE POINT WHERE THERE IS NO FORWARD STREET ILLUMINATION. I NOW MUST ALWAYS DRIVE WITH BRIGHT HI-BEAM LIGHTS ON. ON-COMING DRIVERS OFTEN FLASH FOR ME TO DIM/LOWER THE BRIGHTS CAUSING A SAFETY HAZARD FOR BOTH ME AND THE APPROACHING DRIVER. DEALER TECHNICIAN CONFIRMS THAT BULBS ARE FULLY FUNCTIONAL WITH NORMAL DIM BRIGHTNESS AND DO NOT NEED REPLACING. THE ONLY REMEDY SUGGESTED IS FOR BOTH LEFT AND RIGHT HEADLAMP ASSEMBLIES BE REPLACED COSTING OVER $1000 EACH. THIS ON A FOUR YEAR OLD CAR SUGGESTS TO ME THAT THIS IS A MANUFACTURER'S RESPONSIBILITY. A 30 SECOND ON-LINE SEARCH INSTANTLY SHOWS THAT OTHER 2013-2015 NISSAN ALTIMA OWNERS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THEIR CARS.
VEHICLE BACK UP MONITOR WILL GO BLANK WHEN CAR IS IN REVERSE AND BACKING UP. THIS IS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM AT FIRST BUT IS STARTING TO BECOME A MORE FREQUENT PROBLEM.
MY DIM HEADLIGHTS ARE EXTREMELY LOW. DRIVING AT NIGHT IS A SAFETY HAZARD DUE TO THE DIM HEADLIGHTS. I HAVE NOT REPORTED THIS TO MY DEALERSHIP AFTER VIEWING OTHER COMPLAINTS WITH THE SAME SAFETY ISSUE AND THE FEEDBACK FROM DEALERSHIPS LESS THAN HELPFUL. I KNOW THAT HEADLIGHTS (BULBS) SHOULD BE REPLACED FROM TIME TO TIME. HOWEVER, AFTER REPLACING BULBS THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. THE PERFORMANCE OF THE HEADLIGHTS, ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT, IS BELOW INDUSTRY STANDARDS. AS OF NOW THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN REPORTED TO NHTSA AS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN. I HAVE NOT DISCOVERED ANY REAL INFORMATION FROM NHTSA, PRO OR CON, ON THIS ISSUE WHICH IS CONCERNING TO ME. I WOULD HOPE THAT DUE DILIGENCE AND FOLLOW UP TO CONSUMERS FROM NHTSA, ABOUT THIS COMPLAINT, IS FORTHCOMING OR AT THE LEAST DIRECTIVES ARE GIVEN AS TO RESOLUTIONS TO THIS SAFETY ISSUE. ALSO, PURCHASING BRIGHTER BULBS DON'T SEEM TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I HAVE TRIED THAT. YOUR FEEDBACK WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED CONCERNING THIS HEADLIGHT SAFETY ISSUE ON MY 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA.
LENS IN THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY HAS BURNT OFF AND THE CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. NUMEROUS ISSUES WITH THIS PROBLEM.

AN ATTEMPT WAS MADE TO CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER, BUT WAS UNSUCCESSFUL. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.

ON 12/30/2018 I HAD JUST LEFT THE PARKING LOT OF THE LOCAL WALMART AND WAS AT A COMPLETE STOP FOR A STOPLIGHT ON THE CORNER OF COUNTY HWY Z AND STATE ROAD 13, WAITING TO TURN LEFT. ON THE GREEN, I TURNED AND DROVE APPROXIMATELY 500 FEET AND MY HOOD FLEW OPEN TO THE POINT OF SLAMMING INTO THE ROOF OF THE CAR DAMAGING THE VEHICLE. I PULLED OVER AND CLOSED THE HOOD AND SLOWLY DROVE HOME. WHEN HOME I CHECKED TO SEE IF POSSIBLE RECALL ON HOOD. THERE HAVE BEEN SOME, I CONTACTED THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP AFTER THE HOLIDAYS AND WAS TOLD MY VIN WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL, THEREFORE THEY COULDN'T FIX ANY DAMAGES AND I WAS TO CONTACT CONSUMER AFFAIRS.
The headlights on dim only project 5-10 feet, thereby forcing the driver to use bright lights at all times. This problem was first noted in December, 2018 and again the summer of 2019 when another driver used the car. I do not generally drive at night. However, other family members are now greatly concerned as the problem has only deteriorated. Headlights were restored this summer at the dealership and bulbs were replaced in September. Bulbs were then replaced with high intensity bulbs. Neither attempt to fix this problem has helped in any way.
AS I WAS DRIVING ON A BACK ROAD, THE HOOD FLEW UP AND RESTED ON THE WINDSHIELD.
WHEN I STEP ON GAS PEDAL THE CAR HAS NO POWER, SEEMS LIKE IT IS STUCK IN LOW GEAR, SOMETIMES WHEN DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AND I ATTEMPT TO ACCELERATE THE CAR STALLS. VERY DANGEROUS, ONLY WORKS CORRECTLY AFTER THE CAR IS STOPPED AND ENGINE TURNED OFF. APPROX 77,000 MILES...
LIGHTS JUST GOT DIM AND KEPT GETTING DIM. ROOK IT TO A REPAIR SHOP AND THEY SAID IT WAS A SHORTAGE SOMEWHERE.
HEADLIGHTS R SO DIM THAT AT NIGHT IT SEEMS THEY ARE OFF. THE LENS COVER IS NOT OXIDIZED AND THE BULBS ARE ONLY TWO YEARS OLD.
THE GEAR SHIFTER IN MY AUTOMATIC CAR WILL NOT RELEASE. IN ORDER TO DRIVE. I MUST STICK AN OBJECT IN THE RELEASE HOLE TO SHIFT MY CAR INTO REVERSE, NEUTRAL, OR DRIVE. THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH MANY NISSANS.
AIR BAG INDICATOR ON DASHBOARD CAME ON SUDDENLY ONE MORNING AT MILEAGE OF 86,500 AND WOULD NOT GO OFF EVEN AFTER RE-STARTING. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO OUR LOCAL DEALERSHIP WERE WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE DEALERSHIP DETERMINED IT WAS A FAULTY OCS FOR THE OCCUPANT SIDE AIRBAG AND THAT IT WOULD NOT BE COVER EVEN THOUGH WE HAD A GOLD 120,000 EXTENDED WARRANTY WITH NO-DEDUCTIBLES. THIS IS ONE OF HE EXCLUDED PARTS NOT COVERED UNDER THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. I REACHED OUT TO NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS ON 11-30-18 AFTER DISCUSSING WITH THE DEALERSHIP AND SPOKE WITH A HELEN EMPLOYEE #7319348 AND WAS ASSIGNED CASE# 33678608 AND WAS TOLD SOMEONE WOULD GET BACK TO ME BY THE END OF THE DAY 12-3-18. ON 12-3-18 BRANDAN FRO NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS CALLED BACK, BUT I MISSED HIS CALL. I RETURNED HIS CALL AND LEFT MESSAGES FOR HIM TO CALL ME BACK ON 2 MORE OCCASIONS BUT DID NOT HEAR BACK FROM HIM. ON THE MORNING OF 12-5-18 I CALLED HIM AGAIN AND WAS ABLE TO SPEAK WITH HIM. BRANDAN EMPLOYEE # 33678608 TOLD ME THAT THEY WOULD NOT BE COVERING THE PART OR LABOR INVOLVED (APPROX COST ACCORDING TO DEALERSHIP OF $450 FOR PARTS AND LABOR). I EXPLAINED TO HIM THAT THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE HAD A TOTAL OF 8 RECALLS DOCUMENTED UNDER THE NHTSA OF WHICH 3 OF DEALT WITH THE OCCUPANT SIDE AIRBAG AND OCS (#16V911000, #16V24400 AND #15V681000) AND THAT IT WAS A SAFTY ISSUE AND WAS NO FAULT OF OURS AND BASED UPON ALL THIS INFORMATION THE CORRECT THING TO DO WOULD BE TO COVER THIS ISSUE. HE APOLOGIZED OVER-AND-OVER BUT WOULD NOT COMMIT TO COVER THIS. IT IS OF MY OPINION AND THE OPINION OF THE DEALERSHIP THAT THIS ISSUE IS MOST LIKELY RELATED TO ANY ONE OF THOSE 3 RECALLS AND I AM THEREFORE CALLING UPON THE NHTSA TO ASSIST WITH THIS BY ADDING THIS AS ANOTHER RECALL AND ALLOWING US TO GET REIMBURSED FOR THE ISSUE AS WELL AS TO PROTECT OTHER OWNERS THAT MAY ENCOUNTER THE SAME ISSUE.
IN 2018, WHILE FILLING UP MY GAS, I ACCIDENTALLY PULLED THE HOOD RELEASE LEVER INSTEAD OF MY GAS RELEASE LEVER. AFTER PULLING AWAY, WHILE DRIVING THE HOOD RELEASED AND FLEW UP TO MY WINDOW, CAUSING DAMAGE ALONG THE HOOD. SINCE THIS INCIDENT, I HAVE BEEN GOING BACK AND FORTH WITH NISSAN TO GET IT REPAIRED. THEY INITIALLY DENIED THAT IT WAS THE HOOD LATCH PROBLEM, AS AT THE TIME, MY VIN NUMBER WASN'T INCLUDED IN THE RECALLS (ALTHOUGH WHAT HAPPENED TO ME WAS EXACTLY WHAT WAS INCLUDED IN THE RECALL). I WAS ABLE TO GET AN APPOINT WITH NISSAN CORP WHO INSPECTED MY CAR AND CLAIMED THAT THE DAMAGE WAS A RESULT OF RUSTING TO THE HOOD LATCH SO THERE WASN'T ANYTHING THEY COULD DO. NOW THAT MY VIN NUMBER IS INCLUDED IN THE RECALL, I TRIED AGAIN TO GET THE DAMAGE REPAIR/COST COVERED, BUT THEY CONTINUE TO DENY MY REQUEST STATING THE RUST CAUSED IT. (THIS RECALL STATES THAT RUST WILL FORM AND CAUSE THE ACCIDENT) I DON'T KNOW WHERE TO TURN TO NOW AS NISSAN IS BEING IMPOSSIBLE TO GET HELP FROM. NOW, EVEN THE HOOD RELEASE LEVER ISN'T WORKING.
I WAS DRIVING WHEN A MAN RAN THE STOP SIGN AND PLOWED INTO THE SIDE OF MY CAR. I COULD SEE THAT HE WAS NOT GOING TO STOP SO I SWERVED AND STARTED BRAKING IN ORDER TO MISS HIM. I HAD NO WERE TO GO BECAUSE THERE WAS A GUARD RAIL ON MY DRIVERS SIDE AND PEOPLE SITTING AT THE STOP SIGN THAT I ALMOST HIT HEAD ON TRYING TO AVOID THIS GUY. HE HIT ME SO HARD THAT IT BROKE THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT TIRE AND IT TOTALED MY CAR. BUT THE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY CAUSING ME TO GET TOSSED AND BRUISED UP EVEN THOUGH I WAS WEARING MY SEAT BELT. THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE AIR BAGS IN THIS VEHICLE. I DO HAVE A POLICE REPORT AND AN ATTORNEY CONCERNING THIS MATTER.
