TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE HOOD UNINTENTIONALLY UNLATCHED AND BLOCKED THE CONTACT'S VIEW WHILE DRIVING. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO VISION NISSAN OF WEBSTER (785 RIDGE RD, WEBSTER, NY 14580, (585) 787-2000) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE HOOD LATCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS CURRENTLY BEING REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.
I HAVE NISSAN ALTIMA 2015 FOR 4 YEARS. I HAVE A REAL PROBLEM WITH HEADLIGHTS THAT LIMITED MY DRIVING DURING NIGHT OR DARK SITUATION. THE FIRST YEAR OF MY CAR, THE HEADLIGHTS WERE FINE AND WORK, BUT IN THE SECOND YEAR, HEADLIGHT BECOMES MORE DIMER. ON THE SECOND YEAR, I TOOK IT FOR VA INSPECTION, AND THE INSPECTOR TOLD ME TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR HEADLIGHTS. AFTER A WHILE I NOTICED, IT BECOMES MORE DIMER. I CANNOT SEE 10 FEET IN FRONT OF MY CAR. I ALMOST HATE TWO PERSON AND MANY TIMES I HATED THE ISLAND OR MIDDEN. I AM OK AND THE CAR DID NOT HAVE BIG DAMAGE OR PROBLEM. TODAY, I TOOK IT FOR YEARLY INSPECTION, AND THE INSPECTOR DID NOT PASS THE INSPECTION IN THE SAME KIND OF CONDITION. I PROMISE HER THAT I FIX MY CAR AND SHOW IT TO HER IN TWO WEEKS. OTHERWISE, SHE NEVER PASSED MY INSPECTION IN NEXT YEAR.
CPSC: I WAS DRIVING IN THE RAIN YESTERDAY WHEN MY DRIVER'S SIDE WINDSHIELD WIPER FELL OFF OF MY CAR INTO THE ROAD. I HAD TO TURN MY WIPER BLADES OFF AND TURN MY HAZARD LIGHTS ON IN ORDER TO SAFELY PULL INTO A PARKING LOT. WHEN I GOT OUT OF THE VEHICLE AND CHECKED, I SAW THAT THE PLASTIC PIECE THAT ATTACHES TO THE CAR WAS STILL FIRMLY IN PLACE, BUT THE REST OF THE BLADE APPEARED TO HAVE SNAPPED OFF. *DT *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT, THE HEADLIGHTS DID NOT PROJECT OR ILLUMINATE BRIGHTLY ENOUGH TO VIEW THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CARMAX (LOCATED AT 130 MASON MCKNIGHT JR PKWY, AUGUSTA, GA 30907, (706) 650-1248) AND THE HEADLIGHT BULBS WERE REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BULB REPLACEMENT DID NOT CORRECT THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000.
A FEW WEEKS AGO MY NISSAN ALTIMA 2015 WOULD NOT ACCELERATE WHEN I CAME TO A STOP AND PRESSED ON THE GAS. I HAD TO ALMOST FLOOR IT FOR IT TO EVEN GO AND THEN IT WOULD ACCELERATE SLOWLY. I GOT IT LOOKED AT AND IT DROVE FINE AFTER I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND IT WAS FINE FOR A FEW WEEKS. THEN A FEW DAYS AGO IT DID THE EXACT SAME THING AGAIN, EVERY STOP I MADE IT WOULD NOT ACCELERATE UNTIL I PRESSED ON THE GAS HARD THEN IT SLOWLY STARTED MOVING, ONLY THIS TIME THE RPM WENT CRAZY AND IT STARTED SHUTTING DOWN AND WOULDN'T GO AT ALL, IT COMPLETELY STALLED. I THOUGHT MY CAR WAS NOT ABLE TO DRIVE IT SO CALLED THE TOW TRUCK. ONCE THE TOW TRUCK GOT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP IT STARTED AND WORKED FINE AGAIN. THEY RAN A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND SAID IT MAY BE INTERNAL TRANSMISSION WHICH WILL COST 1500$ IF THAT IS ALL IT IS IF THEY GO IN AND IT DOESN'T CORRECT THE PROBLEM THEN I WILL NEED A WHOLE NEW TRANSMISSION. THEY SAID MY WARRANTY SHOULD COVER IT BUT MAY NOT COVER ALL OF IT. MY CAR IS ONLY 3 YEARS OLD IT SHOULD NOT NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION. I HOPE THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN AGAIN. WHEN I FELT THE CAR DOING THE SAME THING I TOOK THE BACK ROADS INSTEAD OF THE FREEWAY. IMAGINE IF MY CAR STALLED IN MIDDLE OF FREEWAY OR IF SOMEONE WAS BEHIND ME AND HIT ME BECAUSE IT JUST STOPPED WORKING. NO ENGINE LIGHT AND NO WARNING OF ANY KIND CAME ON.
VERY DIM HEADLIGHTS. CAN NOT SEE IN FRONT OF YOU WHILE DRIVING. HAVE TO DRIVE WITH BRIGHT LIGHTS ON TO SEE AT NIGHT. THE BRIGHT LIGHTS LOOK LIKE REGULAR HEADLIGHTS WHEN TURNED ON, NOT VERY BRIGHT TO BE BRIGHT LIGHTS. IT'S A SAFETY CONCERN AND VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. I CHANGED OUT THE BULBS TWICE TO HALOGEN AND LED AND NEITHER FIXED THE PROBLEM.
VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY. DASH PANEL DISPLAYED KEY NOT DETECTED. CAR WOULDN'T START. REPLACE BATTERY IN KEY FOB WITH A BRAND NEW ENERGIZER BATTERY. WORKED FINE TWO TIMES AND DID THE SAME THING. HAD CAR BATTERY CHECKED AND WAS TOLD IT WAS GOOD. CAR WOULDN'T START ON ME AGAIN IN AN UNLIT PARKING LOT. VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. HAVE READ ON BLOGS THAT THIS IS COMMON WITH THIS CAR. WHY WON'T THEY FIX IT?
I TOOK MY CAR TO BE SERVICED AT DISCOUNT TIRE SHOP IN HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA. I PAID $195.00 TO HAVE MY BRAKES REPLACED, BECAUSE THE BRAKES WERE SQUEAKING. I RE-QUESTED HAVING MY BRAKES REPLACED. NOT ONCE DID THE TECH ASK IF I WANTED MY OLD BRAKES CONFISCATED. THE TECH TOLD ME THAT THERE DID NOT SEEM TO BE ANYTHING WITH THE BRAKES. HE ASKED ME IF I WANTED TO HAVE THE BRAKES REPAIRED; I TOLD HIM YES, IF IT MEANS THE SQUEAKING WILL STOP. THEY REPAIRED THE BRAKES AND THE SQUEAKING BECAME EVEN WORSE THAN BEFORE. I DEMANDED MY MONEY BACK FROM THE DEALER MANAGER, AND HE REFUSES TO GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK. HE DROVE MY CAR AFTER THE REPAIR AND MY FAMILY MEMBER AND I BOTH HEARD THE CAR SQUEAKING; HOWEVER, THE MANAGER TOLD US HE DID NOT HEAR ANY SQUEAKING. TO DATE THE BRAKE IS STILL SQUEAK-ING. THE MANAGER TOLD ME THAT BOTH HE AND HIS CHILDREN ALL HAVE ALTIMAS, SO I ASSUME THAT HE TOOK MY BRAKES TO USE ON ONE OF THEIR CARS. HE TOOK MY BRAKES AND IT APPEARS THAT HE DID ABSOLUTELY TO MY OLD BRAKES; BECAUSE IT WAS ON THAT DATE SQUEAKING AND TO DATE, SQUEAKING EVEN WORSE THAN BEFORE. I AM AGAIN REQUESTING THAT THIS MANAGER, REIMBURSE ME $189.00 FOR A BRAKE JOB THAT WAS SIMPLY NO DONE, OR THAT WAS INCORRECTLY REPAIRED. (MORE DETAILS WILL BE PROVIDED UPON REQUEST). HE STATED THAT HT WOULD REIMBURSE ME MY $189.00; YET TO DATE, HE HAS NOT DONE SO. IT SHOULD BE NOTED: I PURCHASED THIS CAR IN 2017; MY DEALER PROVIDED ME WITH NO TYPE OF SAFETY RECALLS WHATSOEVER, I JUST LEARNED TODAY THAT THERE WERE RECALLS. THANK YOU.
WHILE PARALLEL PARKING ON THE STREET NEXT TO MY HOME, MY CAR EXPERIENCED A SUDDEN ACCELERATION. I HAD PULLED INTO THE SPACE BETWEEN THE TWO VEHICLES IN THE PHOTO PROVIDED. WHILE MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE, AND THE CAR STATIONARY, I PLACED THE GEAR SELECTOR INTO REVERSE IN ORDER TO BACK AWAY FROM THE CAR IN FRONT. AS I STARTED TO RELEASE THE BRAKE, MY CAR UNEXPECTEDLY ACCELERATED. I PRESSED AGAINST THE BRAKE. WITH THE WHEELS SKIDDING ALONG THE ASPHALT AND HAVING THE FRONT WHEELS TURNED SLIGHTLY, THE CAR HIT THE CURB AND THE CAR BEHIND ME. ALL CARS PICTURED ARE FAMILY MEMBERS CARS. I HAVE CONTACTED THE NISSAN COMPLAINT HOT LINE. THEY INFORMED ME THAT THERE IS A UPDATE FOR THE CONTROL UNIT, BUT THAT WHAT I HAD EXPERIENCED IS NOT A CONDITION FOR THE UPDATE.
TOOK MY NISSAN TO JEFF WYLER KINGS NISSAN IN CINCINNATI, OHIO ON OCTOBER 16TH AFTER I WAS MADE AWARE OF A SERVICE BULLETIN TO REPROGRAM CVT TRANSMISSION. PICKED UP CAR THAT AFTERNOON DROVE IT REST OF DAY AND THE NEXT DAY MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY RAN A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND SAID I NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION AT A COST OF $4200. MY CAR IS ALMOST 4 YRS OLD WITH 84,000 MILES ON IT. THE TECH SAID THE REASON FOR THE REPROGRAMMING WAS TO PICK UP ON THE ISSUES IN THE TRANSMISSION AND TECH TOLD ME THAT THIS PROBLEM COULD HAVE BEEN THERE FOR MONTHS AND EVEN A YEAR OR SO AND THE COMPUTER NOT THROW THE ENGINE CODE BECAUSE OF EITHER FAULTY TRANSMISSION OR TRANSMISSION PROGRAM. I JUST FEEL ITS EXTREMELY FISHY THAT AFTER THEY REPROGRAMMED THE TRANSMISSION THE VERY NEXT DAY ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION. I HAVE CALLED NISSAN AND HAVE A CASE # OR CA # OF 33093284 AND AM ASKING NISSAN TO COVER THE TRANSMISSION UNDER WARRANTY.
THE PLASTIC HANGING ROD OF DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR WAS BROKEN AND DROPPED WHILE DRIVING, BLOCKING THE VIEW OF DRIVER. I WAS SURPRISED TO FIND OUT THE HANGING ROD IS MADE OF PLASTIC, SINCE THE VISOR NEEDS TO BE INSERTED BACK TO POSITION WITH FORCE AND IS USED ON DAILY BASIS. AFTER ONLINE SEARCH, I HAVE REALIZED THIS PROBLEM IS COMMON FOR NISSAN BRAND. THE DEALERSHIP ASKS MORE THAN $200 PLUS TAX FOR THIS PART. I HAVE A PREFERED GOLD EXTENDED WARRANTY, WHICH DOES NOT COVER THIS DEFECTIVE PART. MY CAR IS 2015 MODEL. HOW CAN A MANUFACTURER USE A PLASTIC FOR A HANGING ROD , BECAUSE IT IS HIDDEN UNDERNEATH THE FABRIC OF THE VISOR? IT IS A FRAUDULENT DESIGN USING A PLASTIC, WHICH CAN NOT SUSTAIN THE FORCE AND DESTINED FOR FAILURE. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE, SINCE IT FAILED WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND DROPPED IN FRONT OF ME, BLOCKING MY VIEW OF ROAD.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY WHEN MY RPM GAUGE RACED OVERV7000 THEN DROPPED TO 0 AND I LOST ALL ABILITY TO CONTROL THE TRANSMISSION. ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AFTERWARDS. CALLED NISSAN AND HAD IT CHECKED OUT AND WAS TOLD IT WAS THE CVT TRANSMISSION AND THAT IT IS COMMON FOR THIS TO HAPPEN WITH NO WARNING.?NICE HAZARD AS I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN IT HAPPENED AND NISSAN SAID SINCE IT HAD 115K MILES NOTHING THEY WOULD DO ABOUT IT
CAR WILL SUDDENLY LOSE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE DURING HOT OR COLD WEATHER. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, THE CAR WILL HESITATE TO MOVE FOR ABOUT 5 SECONDS THEN WILL SUDDENLY BEGIN TO ACCELERATE AT A VERY LOW SPEED. IF I PULL OVER AND TURN THE CAR OFF FOR A FEW MINUTES, IT BEHAVES NORMALLY AGAIN. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN INVOLVED IN SEVERAL ACCIDENTS THIS WINTER AND SUMMER WHEN THIS HAS HAPPENED IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. PLEASE HELP.
WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH ON A STATE HIGHWAY, WHEN I ENCOUNTER A HILL OR ATTEMPT TO ACCELERATE TO MAINTAIN SPEED THE VEHICLE DOES NOT RESPOND BUT INSTEAD HESITATES AND STARTS TO SLOW. ONLY WITH A SECOND OR THIRD APPLICATION OF PRESSURE TO THE GAS PEDAL DOES THE VEHICLE START TO ACCELERATE. THIS HAS OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES WITHIN THE LAST MONTH. ALSO, WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ENTER THE INTERSTATE FROM A SHOPPING CENTER THAT I FREQUENT I HAVE TO CROSS TWO LANES OF HIGH SPEED TRAFFIC TO ENTER THE THIRD LANE HIGHWAY ENTRANCE. FROM A STANDING FULL STOP I APPLY PRESSURE TO THE GAS PEDAL, THE VEHICLE ADVANCES TWO OR THREE FEET AND THEN COMES TO A COMPLETE STOP. ADDITIONAL PRESSURE TO THE GAS PEDAL PRODUCES NO FORWARD MOVEMENT. THE ENGINE IS RUNNING, THE GEARSHIFT LEVER IS IN DRIVE BUT THE CAR DOES NOT MOVE. APPROACHING HIGH SPEED TRAFFIC IS NOW SWERVING TO AVOID MY STOPPED VEHICLE. THIS LIFE THREATENING SITUATION HAS OCCURRED TWICE IN THE LAST MONTH. ON BOTH OCCASIONS I HAVE BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP FOR RESOLUTION OF THIS PROBLEM. ON THE LAST OCCASION THE VEHICLE WAS LEFT FOR FOUR DAYS AND I GAVE PERMISSION TO THE TECHNICIAN TO OPERATE THE CAR AT WILL TO DETERMINE THE PROBLEM. NO PROBLEM COULD BE DETECTED. THE VEHICLE HAS 34,000 ON IT. I BELIEVE OPERATING THIS CAR IN THE PRESENT CONDITION PUTS ME AT GREAT RISK. IT IS APPARENT TO ME THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS DEFECTIVE AND SHOULD BE REPLACED OR REPAIRED WHILE IT STILL UNDER WARRENTY.
THE DRIVERS SIDE SUN VISOR FLOPS DOWN WHEN DRIVING. THE PART IS DEFECTIVE THAT HOLDS IT UP. CREATES A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE IT BLOCKS VISIBILITY. THE PART BROKE AND NISSAN IS REFUSING TO COVER. IN ADDITION THE EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT WAS PURCHASED IS ALSO REFUSING TO COVER THE PART. THIS IS DANGEROUS SINCE THE DRIVERS SIDE VISOR BLOCKS SUN FROM BLINDING ME WHEN DRIVING BUT HAVING IT BLOCKING MY VIEW COMPLETELY CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH THE VISOR. IT IS ALSO IN THE MURANO AND THE PATHFINDER YET THEY ARE CLAIMING THIS IS A WEAR ISSUE THAT SOMEHOW I AM AT FAULT FOR. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. NISSAN CONTINUES TO KNOWINGLY INSTALL DEFECTIVE PARTS IN THEIR CARS WHICH CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.
HEADLIGHTS DANGEROUSLY DIM. NO VISIBILITY DRIVING AFTER DARK. LIGHTS DOES NOT ILLUMINATE ROAD. CANNOT SEE ANYTHING IN FRONT OR SEE CURBS OR PEOPLE CROSSING ROADS. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH 2013-2015 NISSAN CARS. IT IS SO UNSAFE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT AS YOU CANNOT SEE ANYTHING IN FRONT OF CAR. CHANGED BULBS TWICE, BROUGHT NEW HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY AND STILL HAD SAME PROBLEM AFTER 7 MOS. NISSAN SHOULD RECALL HEADLIGHT BEFORE SOMEONE DIES DUE TO THEIR FAULTY HEADLIGHTS AND THEIR SILENCE
I'VE NOW REPLACED MY HEADLIGHTS A SECOND TIME IN LESS THAN A MONTH AND NO CHANGE. WHEN I DRIVE ON STREETS, HIGHWAYS, OR WHEN I TURN AT DARK I HAVE NO VISIBILITY FROM MY HEADLIGHTS.THE LIGHTS AREN'T PROEJECTING ENOUGH LIGHT SO THAT I CAN SEE THREE FEET AHEAD OF ME. OTHER VEHICLES PULL UP BEHIND ME AND THEIR HEADLIGHTS SHOW A SHADOW IN FRONT OF ME. NISSAN WANTS TO CHARGE ME $200 TO LOOK AT THEM TO TELL ME I WHAT'S WRONG. I'M CONCERNED FOR MY SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF OTHERS.
THE HEADLIGHTS ARE TOO DIM (LOW BEAMS). YOU CAN'T NOT SEE 3 FEET UP FRONT AND THERE IS NO SOLUTION. NIGHT DRIVING IS A SERIUS SAFETY ISSUE AND AS THE CAR GETS OLDER THE PROBLEM INCREASES.
2015 NISSAN ALTIMA - THE LOW BEAMS PROVIDE INSUFFICIENT LIGHTING DURING NIGHT DRIVING AND CREATES A SAFETY HAZARD. I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE USED IN 2018. I REPLACED THE BULBS BUT THERE WERE NO IMPROVEMENTS. FRIENDS AND FAMILY NOTICE THE PROBLEM AND ARE AFRAID TO DRIVE AT NIGHT IN THIS CAR. RESEARCH SHOWS THE PROJECTOR BOWLS ARE DEFECTIVE AND IT IS GOING TO COST ME NEARLY $1K TO REPLACE BOTH HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES.
The headlights on my 2015 Altima are so very dim. It is as if they are not even on. All passengers that ride in my car ask if my headlights are on when they are in the car. I started to notice this dimming about 2018/2019. I took my car to the dealership where I was told (the first time) that I must have put too bright of headlights in the unit. (Which is not the case as I know it takes H-11). The next time I took it to the dealership they told me that they are dim because my windshield has tint on it. (Which I know was not the cause as I tinted the windows and windshield shortly after purchasing my Altima). The next and last time o took it to the dealer they said it was the housing that was cloudy (from the inside of the headlight). I was told my only option was to replace the whole headlight units for about $1,300.00. That was a hard NO since I was not responsible for any of these issues. So I decided to get fog lights installed. Even looked into getting LED headlights. The LED headlights made no difference in visibility. The fog lights help very little. But a little is better than nothing. And that only cost around $200.00 at a mom and pop shop. Way more affordable than replacing both headlight units. So the shop I took my Altima to informed me that the projection piece of the headlights was the actual problem. That my only option was to replace the entire fixture. (Of course the mom and pop shop would do it for wayyyy less but still an expensive repair I didn’t want to have to do. I felt eventually enough 2015 Nissan Altima owners would complain and this would turn into a recall. My car is available for inspection, has been inspected by Nissan’s OWN certified mechanics, and then also by another shop. The visibility is so poor I’m afraid to drive at night. I’m afraid of hitting an animal or even a person! I can’t see pot holes to avoid them. And I can’t just go around driving with my high beams on! This needs fixing ASAP! Unacceptable! 2nd Nissan I have purchased
2015 ALTIMA HAS INCURRED TWO SEPARATE WATER LEAK ISSUES WITHIN TWO MONTHS. FIRST, DIAGNOSED AS CLOGGED AC DRAIN. THIS REQUIRED COMPLETE REPLACEMENT OF CARPET. THIS WAS REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY. SECOND, DIAGNOSED AS FAULTY FIREWALL GROMMET ON STEERING ASSEMBLY. THIS ALLOWED EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS OF RAINWATER TO FLOOD DRIVER SIDE CARPET AND UNDER DASH ELECTRICAL WHILE DRIVING. NISSAN CLAIMS IS NOT A WARRANTY-ABLE FAILURE DUE TO "NATURE" BEING SOURCE OF WATER WHICH FLOODED THROUGH FIREWALL. DEALER STATES THIS HAS BEEN A COMMON OCCURRENCE ON 2013-2017 ALTIMAS NISSAN ALSO DOES NOT SEE HOW FAILURE OF FIREWALL GROMMET (S) COULD LEAD TO VEHICLES SINKING FASTER IN THE EVENT OF A WATER CRASH.
I WAS TOLD THAT MY LIGHTS SEEMED VERY DIMMED. BEING THAT I LIVE IN THE CITY FULL LIGHTS SO IT'S HARD TO TELL BUT I'VE NOTICED THE LAST COUPLE OF TIMES I'VE GONE OUT OF TOWN AND HAD TO TAKE DARKER ROADS, THE LIGHTING ON THE VEHICLE IS TERRIBLE. YOU CAN BARELY SEE 5FT IN FRONT OF YOU AND THAT'S VERY DANGEROUS WHILE DRIVING....SOMEONE NEEDS TO LOOK INTO THIS AND CORRECT THE PROBLEM.
HEADLIGHTS HAVE BECOME EXTREMELY DIM ON LOW BEAM. CANNOT SEE EVEN A FEW FEET AHEAD, CANNOT SEE ANYTHING ON THE SIDES LIKE CURBS. MAKES IT TREACHEROUS TO DRIVE AFTER DARK. I ALMOST HIT A PEDESTRIAN TWICE IN THE LAST MONTH BECAUSE I COULD NOT SEE THEM WITHOUT THE BRIGHTS ON. BARELY BRIGHT ENOUGH TO PICK UP ON THE REFLECTIVE BUTTONS THAT MARK LANES. CAN'T SEE ENOUGH OF THE STREET TO MAKE TURNS, WITHOUT RUNNING THE RISK OF MISSING THE LANE AND HITTING THE CURB OR ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE PROBLEM JUST AROSE IN THE LAST 2-3 MONTHS. PRIOR TO THAT THE HEADLIGHTS SEEMED FINE, AND I DO A LOT OF NIGHT DRIVING. SOME WITH CITY STREETLIGHTS, AND SOME ON ROADS WITH MINIMAL LIGHTING. LIGHTS MAY HAVE DIMMED GRADUALLY, BUT I FIRST NOTICED IT IN LATE AUGUST, EARLY SEPTEMBER 2018. AT THAT POINT IT WAS A VERY NOTICEABLE CHANGE. 2 PASSENGERS HAVE POINTED OUT THAT THEY DIDN'T THINK I EVEN HAD THE HEADLIGHTS TURNED ON. ON HIGH BEAM, THE LIGHTS WORK WONDERFULLY. UNFORTUNATELY, THAT IS NOT SAFE TO USE WHEN FACING ONCOMING VEHICLES OR WITH VEHICLES IN FRONT OF YOU. THIS IS NOT AN OXIDATION ISSUE OF THE LENS COVER. THE LENS IS CRYSTAL CLEAR STILL, AND THE CAR IS JUST NOW ABOUT 4 YEARS OLD. HAS 55000 MILES ON IT. IT SEEMS THERE ARE QUITE A FEW COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS FOR NISSAN ALTIMAS. I'M AFRAID SOMEONE WILL GET KILLED IN AN ACCIDENT BEFORE ANYTHING IS DONE TO CORRECT THE ISSUE. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THE PROBLEM AND HELP PREVENT SUCH A TRAGEDY.
THE FIRST TIME I NOTICED THIS PROBLEM WAS ON A GIRLS TRIP TO ROCKPORT, TX ON SEPT 1, 2018. ONE OF THE LADIES ASKED IF MY HEADLIGHTS WERE ON. I SAID YES. SHE ASKED ME TO PULL OVER SO SHE CAN CONFIRM. SHE CONFIRMED THE LIGHTS WERE ON. ON SEPTEMBER 23, 2018 I WAS COMING BACK HOME ON A DARK HIGHWAY WITH MY SISTER WHEN WE FOUND COULD NOT SEE THREE FEET IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. IT APPEARED AS THOUGH I HAD NO HEADLIGHTS ON. I PULLED OVER TO CHECK AND THE HEADLIGHTS WERE ON. I GOT BACK IN THE CAR AND DROVE TO THE FIRST OPEN AUTO PARTS PLACE I COULD FIND ON A SUNDAY NIGHT AROUND 8PM. THE MAN SUGGESTED BULB REPLACEMENT. I REPLACED THE BULBS. HOWEVER, ON OCTOBER 20, 2018 I WAS AGAIN DRIVING AND ON A DARK ROAD WITH A LOT OF PEOPLE WALKING ON THE SIDE AND I NEARLY HIT A PERSON BECAUSE I DIDN'T SEE THEM BECAUSE OF THE POOR LIGHTING COME FROM THE HEADLIGHT. I WENT BACK TO THE AUTO PARTS STORE AND THE MAN SUGGEST A MORE EXPENSIVE BULBS AND AS OF TODAY OCTOBER 25, 2018 I STILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. I AM IN FEAR OF MY LIFE AND THE PEOPLE IN MY VEHICLE. I AM ABOUT TO DRIVE TO ARKANSAS IN TWO WEEKS. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD TO DRIVE THIS WAY. ALL CARS DRIVING NEXT TO ME HAVE MUCH MORE SIGNIFICANT LIGHTING FOR THE ROAD. I OWN 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA, I WANT NHTSA TO BE AWARE OF SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH CVT TRANSMISSION ISSUE. I WAS ON 95 SOUTH IN WASHINGTON DC WHEN MY VEHICLE HESITATED FOR SEVERAL SECONDS AS I PUSHED MY GAS PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR MY CAR WOULD SLIGHTLY MOVE FORWARD. WHEN I WAS TRYING TO MOVE TO THE FAR RIGHT SHOULDER, I WAS ALMOST HIT BY MACK TRUCK. MY CAR WAS BARELY MOVES. THE ALMOST CAUSED SERIOUS ACCIDENT AND POSSIBLE MY LIFE. THIS HAPPENED AGAIN TODAY 8/23/2018 ON MY WAY TO WORK. I WAS AT STOP LIGHT I PUSH THE ACCELERATOR AND MY VEHICLE BARELY MOVED. I WAS TOLD BY THE NISSAN DEALER THAT IT CVT TRANSMISSION. THE DEALER SAID THEY ARE GETTING A DOZEN 2015 NISSAN A WEEK WITH THIS SAME ISSUE. THIS IS RIDICULOUS MY CAR IS ONLY 3 YEARS OLD. THIS IS TOO EXPENSIVE FOR ME TO FIX.
THE DUNLOP TIRES WHICH CAME WITH THE NEW 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA I BOUGHT IN JANUARY OF 2015 WERE MANUFACTURED IN 2013. SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR, I WAS LOOSING AIR IN ALL FOUR (4) TIRES. I COMPLAINED TO THE DEALER TWICE AND THEY COULD NOT FIND ANY PROBLEM. SO I WENT AND I BOUGHT AN AIR PUMP WHICH I USED ALMOST EVERY WEEK TO FILL IN THE AIR I WAS LOSING. RECENTLY, WHILE I WAS DRIVING WITH MY GRANDCHILDREN, ONE OF THE TIRES LOST 15 POINTS PRESSURE WITHIN ONE MILE ON THE ROAD. IT WAS A ZIPLINE FRACTURE ACCORDING TO THE MECHANIC WHO REPLACED THE TIRES FOR ME. I CONTACTED BOTH DUNLOP AND NISSAN AND BOTH KEPT ON THROWING THE PROBLEM ON EACH OTHER. DUNLOP OFFERED TO GIVE ME A REPLACEMENT CREDIT TO BE USED FOR DUNLOP/GOODYEAR TIRES WHICH I DO NOT TRUST. NISSAN REFUSED TO HEAR MY COMPLAINT BECAUSE THEY DO NOT WARRANT TIRES EVEN THOUGH I BOUGHT THE DUNLOP TIRES WITH THE NEW VEHICLES. I DO NOT TRUST EITHER OF THE TWO COMPANIES BECAUSE THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. THANK GOD THAT WE DID NOT SUSTAIN ANY INJURY OR DEATH BUT THE 2013 TIRES WERE REALLY DEFECTIVE SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR.

THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON INDICATING THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG WAS OFF. MY WIFE WAS SITTING IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE SEAT AT THE TIME. SHE HAD HER SEAT BELT ON. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT 70 MPH ON A HIGHWAY AT THE TIME. I HAVE THIS ON VIDEO THAT SHOWS THAT THIS LASTED FOR APPROXIMATELY 12 MINUTES BEFORE THE LIGHT WENT OFF AND THE AIRBAG SYSTEM INDICATED THAT THE AIRBAG WOULD DEPLOY IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY. THIS IS 12 MINUTES WHERE MY WIFE WAS NOT PROTECTED BY AN AIRBAG SYSTEM. THE VIDEO THAT I HAVE IS FROM AND IPHONE AND IS NOT IN A SUPPORTED FILE FORMAT FOR UPLOADING. I WOULD BE HAPPY TO SEND IT TO YOU ANOTHER WAY. I CONTACTED THE NHTSA ABOUT 8 MONTHS AGO ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING. I CONTACTED NISAN AT THE SAME TIME AND THEY INDICATED THAT WITHOUT ANY ERROR CODES, THERE IS NO PROOF THAT THIS IS AN ISSUE OR IS REALLY HAPPENING. CAR SHUDDERS AT LOW RPM ACCELERATION AND SOMETIMES STALLS WHEN TURNING ON TO A BUSY STREET. TOLD BY DEALER TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. CAR HAS 46000 MILES AND A BRANDED TITLE. CAR RESTORED TO PERFECT CONDITION AFTER MINOR ACCIDENT. NISSAN REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE ANY FURTHER WARRANTY DUE TO THE BRANDED TITLE. THE REASON FOR COMPLAINT IS THAT THERE IS A HIGH PERCENTAGE OF THESE VEHICLES WITH THIS SAME TRANSMISSION ISSUE. UNDER NORMAL CIRCUMSTANCES THE WARRANTY WOULD COVER THE POWERTRAIN FOR UP TO 60,000 MILES REGARDLESS OF THE EXTENDED POWERTRAIN WARRANTY THAT NISSAN HAS GRANTED TO OTHER ALTIMA OWNERS WITH THIS PROBLEM.

WE PURCHASED THE CAR NEW IN 2014 AND ALWAYS TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE OIL CHANGES AND TIRE ROTATION. WE NOTICED THE LOW TIRE SIGNAL COMING ON FROM TIME TO TIME. I GOT A SMALL NAIL IN THE FRONT TIRE AND TOOK IT TO A GARAGE TO GET IT REMOVED. THE CAR JUST TURNED OVER 40,000 MILES. WE TOLD THE ATTENDANT WE WERE GOING ON VACATION THE NEXT WEEK AND HE CHECKED ALL 4 TIRES. THAT IS WHEN WE FOUND OUT THAT THE 2 REAR TIRES BELTS WERE BREAKING ON THE INSIDE AND THE INSIDE TIRE TREADS HAD UNUSUAL WEAR.NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO BUY NEW TIRES WITH ONLY 40,000 MILES.
THE SUPPLEMENTAL AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT CAME ON MULTIPLE TIMES AND I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THREE NISSAN DEALERSHIPS AND THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIX THE ISSUE. THE CAR HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT NEITHER THE AIRBAGS HAVE EVER DEPLOYED. EVERY TIME I GO TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP THEY CLAIM A CONNECTOR WAS LOOSE OR THAT THE CIRCUIT WAS OPEN. EVERY TIME I TAKE THE CAR OUT OF THE DEALERSHIP THE LIGHT IS OFF, BUT AFTER A DAY OR SO THE LIGHT COMES ON AGAIN. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT IS UNACCEPTABLE THAT SUCH A CRITICAL SYSTEM AS THE AIRBAG IS, WOULD NOT WORK PROPERLY, AND THAT NISSAN WOULD NOT KNOW HOW TO FIX IT. THEY KEEP TRYING TO CHANGE DIFFERENT PARTS ON THE AIRBAG SYSTEM TO TRY TO GET IT FIXED, BUT IT SEEMS TO ME THAT THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO AND ARE JUST TRYING TO SEE WHAT FIXES THE ISSUE. IT ALSO SEEMS THAT NISSAN DIDN'T DO A GOOD JOB WITH THE AIRBAG SYSTEM SINCE THERE'S ALREADY BEEN RECALLS ON SOMETHING SIMILAR FOR THIS CAR.

I ALSO LEARNED BY SHUTTING CAR OFF PROBLEM GOES AWAY LIKE OTHER PEOPLES CARS.

THEY TOLD ME THEY DID A SOFTWARE UPDATE ON THE CONTROL MODULE OF THE TRANSMISSION AND THERE IS A NOTE IN MY ACCOUNT THAT I CAN BRING IT UP AS MANY TIMES AS I NEED TO WITH NO CHARGE TO ME. ARE YOU KIDDING ME RED FLAG, AND LETS NOT FORGET THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THEY HAD MY VEHICLE ON THE SAME PROBLEM AND THIS IS A RED FLAG FOR NOT KNOWING HOW MANY MORE TIMES THIS WILL HAPPEN IN THE FUTURE BUT IT WILL HAPPEN. THE CVT TRANSMISSION IS A VEHICLE WITH NO RELIABILITY WITH IT, COSTS YOU AN ARM AND LEG, AND THE CAR IS CRAP. THEY ALL NEED TO BE RECALLED. THE VEHICLE MAKES A WHINEY NOSE GOING DOWN OR UP HILLS, THE RPM'S GET STUCK IN 2ND GEAR AND DON'T LET YOU GO ABOVE 20MPH UNLESS YOU TAKE YOUR FOOT OFF AND THEN STOMP IT TO THE FLOOR TO KICK IT OUT OF GEAR, AND THE CAR TRIES TO OVERDUE YOUR DRIVING TO DO ITS OWN. THE TRANSMISSION IS CRAP AND NEEDS TO BE RECALLED AFTER ALL THE REVIEWS OUT THERE SAYING THE SAME THING FROM 2008 TO AT LEAST 2015 OR 2016.

NISSAN SEEMS TO HAVE DEFECTIVE AC COMPONENTS IN THEIR 2015 ALTIMA VEHICLES. THE BELOW LINK SHOWS ADDITIONAL INDIVIDUALS THAT HAVE EXPERIENCED THE EXACT SAME ISSUE WITH THEIR 2015 ALTIMA.
