I WAS DRIVING AROUND A LITTLE WHILE AND WHEN I CAME TO A STOP AT A STOP LIGHT I PUSHED MY GAS PEDAL TO ACCELERATE FORWARD AND MY CAR DID NOT MOVE, AS I PUSHED MY GAS PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR MY CAR WOULD VERY LIGHTLY MOVE. FINALLY AFTER MOVING BARELY FORWARD MY CAR WOULD GO , I HAD CARS ALMOST HIT ME AND PEOPLE GETTING ENRAGED I AM NOT MOVING, THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM NOW, IT HAPPENS OFTEN AND SOMETIMES CAUSING A VERY SERIOUS AND DANGEROUS SITUATION. AFTER DOING MY RESEARCH MANY OF OWNERS OF THIS YEAR MAKE AND MODEL ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE BUT YET NOTHING TO COME OUT FROM NISSAN FOR RECALL. I READ IF YOU TURN YOUR CAR OFF AND BACK ON IT WILL RESET AND THEN THE CAR GOES JUST FINE TILL THE NEXT TIME AND THAT DOES WORK BUT THAT IS DANGEROUS AS WELL. I BOUGHT THIS CAR AS I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE A SAFE CAR FOR MY CHILDREN AND MYSELF. THIS HAS BEEN A DANGEROUS ISSUE . WHEN WE DRIVE IT IN THE HEAT IT HAPPENS WORST AND THEN WILL BE ON THE FREEWAY AND IT WILL REV THE ENGINE REALLY HIGH AND NOT SWITCH DOWN. PLEASE NISSAN TELL ME YOU ARE GOING TO DO SOMETHING FOR YOUR LOYAL CUSTOMERS THIS IS THE THIRD NISSAN I HAVE OWNED. AND I HAVE THE AIRBAG ISSUE . IT WONT PICK UP MY SON SITTING THERE AND HE IS 160 LBS
WHEN I PARKED MY CAR MY FUEL LIGHT WAS NOT ON I HAD 111 MILES ON MY DASH WHEN I STARTED MY CAR IN THE MORNING MY LOW FUEL LIGHT WAS ON SAYING LOW GAS AND AS I DROVE THE MILEAGE WENT DOWN BELOW 60. I'VE ALSO NOTICED LATELY THAT MY GAS JUST RUNS OUT A LOT FASTER THAN NORMAL.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 102,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE VEHICLE WAS AWAITING REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
HEADLIGHTS DO NOT PROJECT ON LOW BEAM. IT LOOKS LIKE YOU ONLY HAVE PARKING LIGHTS ON IT IS SO DIM. IT ISN'T SAFE TO DRIVE AFTER DARK.
I JUST CALLED NISSAN. ON JUNE 8 18 I TOOK MY CAR TO CHANDLER NISSAN FOR PRE PURCHASE INSPECTION. THEY SAID IT HAD A RECALL FOR THE TRANSMISSION, CHECKED IT AND SAID EVERYTHING LOOKED FINE. I RECEIVED A QUOTE ON THE EXTENDED WARRANTY WHILE THERE. I LATER CALLED AND EMAILED TO EXTEND MY WARRANTY BUT KEPT GETTING THE RUN AROUND. FAST FORWARD TO THIS WEEKEND, GETTING ON THE FREEWAY NO ACCELERATION AT ALL. RPM JUST THROUGH THE ROOF. ITS DONE THAT A FEW TIMES NOW, SINCE THE DAY I BOUGHT IT (AFTER INSPECTION) IT WOULD LAG TO ACCELERATE JUST NOT TOTALLY LIKE IT DID NOW. I'M A GIRL AND THOUGHT THAT WAS NORMAL IT JUST DIDN'T PICK UP AND GO AND WHINED A LITTLE. TODAYS MILES = 61850. CALLED NISSAN, THEY WILL LOOK INTO IT AND GET BACK TO ME... THE CAR HAD 57468 MILES AT THE TIME OF INSPECTION AND WAS UNDER WARRANTY. THE OTHER ISSUE WAS ABOUT A MONTH AGO, BEFORE I HIT 60K THE SIDE AIRBAG ALERT WENT OFF. AFTER RESTARTING THE CAR IT DISAPPEARED. TOOK IT TO MIDWAY NISSAN AND THEY SAID COULD BE A FAULTY SENSOR OR COULD BE A DEFECT IN THE AIRBAG BUT ITS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THEY QUOTED $1400 TO FIX THAT. I FORGOT TO TELL THE NISSAN REP THAT WHEN I CALLED BUT I WILL DO SO WHEN THEY CALL ME BACK. HOPING THEY WILL BE HELPFUL. I WILL UPDATE AS I GET MORE INFO.

THE CONTACT INQUIRED ABOUT THE AIR BAG REPLACEMENT AND WAS INFORMED BY THE DEALER THAT THE RECALL WAS FOR THE PASSENGER SEAT SENSOR, AND NOT TO REPLACE THE AIR BAGS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,000. *TT CONSUMER STATED I HAVE BEEN INFORMED THAT THE NOTED VEHICLE DOES NOT HAVE "TAKATA AIR BAG" INSTALLED , HOWEVER "NISSAN" HAS NOT VERIFIED THIS. UPDATED 10/05/18*JB
LAST MONTH I TOOK MY ALTIMA TO MY DEALER FOR SERVICE. MY CAR SHUT DOWN ON ME TWICE EARLIER IN THE WEEK & I WAS UNABLE TO GET IT STARTED AGAIN. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROADWAY IT WOULD COMPLETELY LOSE POWER.
ROLLAWAY ACCIDENT IN PARKING LOT ON SMALL INCLINE. $ 4500 IN DAMAGE. NO INJURIES. THANK GOD . AT SOFTBALL GAME. EXITED CAR AND DID NOT HEAR ANY WARNING. WALKED BESIDE AND THEN BEHIND CAR AND DID NOT NOTICE ANY MOVEMENT. ABOUT 20 SECONDS LATER IT CRASHED INTO A HIGHBOY TRAILER.
Headlights are excessively dim and do not effectively light the roadway. Replacing the bulbs does not remedy the situation.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
LOW-BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE DANGEROUSLY DIM. NISSAN REPLACED THEM VOLUNTARILY (NO CHARGE) APRIL 9, 2018, BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM. NOW THE REPLACED (NEW) LOW-BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE AGAIN DANGEROUSLY DIM. I VERY OFTEN HAVE TO USE MY HIGH BEAMS TO SEE PROPERLY (STREET SIGNS, CURBS, ETC.) WHICH IS DANGEROUS TO ONCOMING TRAFFIC.
AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN I-95 SOUTH GOING 70 MPH MY CAR SUDDENLY DROPPED DOWN TO 60 AND THEN 50 MPH AND NO MATTER HOW MUCH A PRESSED THE GAS, THE CAR CONTINUED TO LOSE POWER. I BARELY MADE IT TO THE NEXT EXIT AND HAD TO DRIVE WITH MY HAZARD LIGHTS ON SO OTHER DRIVERS KNEW THAT I COULDN'T DRIVE ANY FASTER. I PULLED INTO A GAS STATION AND LET THE CAR SIT FOR APPROXIMATELY 30-45 MINS. BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO DRIVE THE REST OF THE WAY HOME. DURING THE REMAINDER OF MY DRIVE, THE RPM WOULD ALL OF A SUDDEN JUMP WHICH CAUSED MY CAR TO JERK AND ACCELERATE FORWARD WITHOUT WARNING. HAD SOMEONE BEEN IN FRONT OF ME, I WOULD'VE HIT THEM. AS I WAS TAKING MY CAR TO NISSAN THE NEXT DAY, MY CAR WOULD STALL AT RED LIGHTS AND NO MATTER HOW MUCH I PRESSED THE GAS IT WOULD TAKE FOREVER TO BEGIN MOVING. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND VERY SCARY AND I DONT FEEL SAFE.

THIS CONDITION IS INDICATIVE OF MALFUNCTIONING OR MIS-ADJUSTED PROPORTIONING VALVE. IT ALSO INDICATES POTENTIAL STABILITY AND HANDLING ISSUES DUE TO HIGHER BRAKING FORCE BEING APPLIED TO REAR BRAKES WHILE STOPPING. DEALER (SURF CITY NISSAN, HUNTING BEACH CA), WHEN QUESTIONED, GAVE VARIOUS REASONS AS TO WHY THIS WAS HAPPENING: 1. "YOUR CAR HAS REAR DISC BRAKES AND THAT'S WHY THEY WEAR OUT FASTER" 2. "IT DEPENDS ON WHO'S DRIVING THE CAR" 3. "OLDER CARS APPLY MORE FORCE TO THE FONT THAN THE BACK BRAKES, NOT THE NEW ONES" ALL OF THESE STATEMENTS ARE CONTRADICTED BY SAE PUBLICATION, "VEHICLE DYNAMICS, STABILITY AND CONTROL", 2017. DEALERS WOULD NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THIS CONDITION IS A POTENTIAL SAFETY ISSUE AND THEREFORE WOULD NOT INVESTIGATE IT FURTHER. I HAVE EXPERIENCED AN INCREASE IN LOSS OF ROADWAY VISIBILITY DUE TO THE MALFUNCTIONING AND DIMMING OF MY 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA HEADLIGHTS. I HAVE MADE SEVERAL DOCUMENTED COMPLAINTS TO NISSAN MOTOR CORP AND MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALER IN BRADENTON AND BRANDON, WHO ADVISED IT WOULD REQUIRE ME TO PAY A COSTLY REPAIR OUT OF POCKET. THE PROBLEM HAS WORSEN. I AM UNABLE TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE AT NIGHT, LIMITING MY SCHEDULE TO AN ALMOST HALT WHEN LEAVING FROM WORK. MY COMMUTE IS LONG AND DANGEROUS.THERE HAS BEEN NEAR MISS CAR ACCIDENTS ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHILE IN MOTION ON HIGHWAYS AND ROADWAYS. THE DIM LIGHTING IS POSING A RISK TO ME AS A DRIVER, I AM VISUALLY IMPAIRED AS WELL, PLEASE HELP SOON.

LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE EXTREMELY DIM, LIKE TO THE POINT OF NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE MORE THAN ONE FOOT IN FRONT OF THE CAR. I HAVE TRIED NEW BULBS AND DIFFERENT BULBS, TO NO AVAIL. THEY ARE HORRIBLE. THIS IS ONGOING FOR MORE THAN A YEAR.
WHEN TEMPERATURES ARE 15 DEGREES, OR LOWER THE ENGINE MAKES A LOUD RUMBLING AND KNOCKING NOISE WHEN STARTED UP. THE COLDER IT IS THE LOUDER AND LONGER IT LAST. GENERALLY IT TAKES 5-10+ MINUTES BEFORE IT QUIETS DOWN. SECOND ISSUE IS; REGARDLESS OF TEMPERATURE, WHEN ACCELERATING ON A GRADE IT ALSO MAKES A RUMBLING NOISE. THE CAR HAS 57,000 ON IT AND IS VERY GOOD CONDITION OTHERWISE
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE EXTREMELY DIM. EVEN AFTER INSTALLING NEW BULBS AND EVEN HID AND LED, THE FACTORY HALOGEN BULBS ARE EXTEMELY DIM. THEY ARE THE SAME BRIGHTNESS AS THE ORANGE SIDE MARKER LIGHTS. I CAN NOT DRIVE MY CAR AT NIGHT AND ITS A SHAME NISSAN WONT RECALL THIS BEING THEIR ARE THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS FOR THIS BODY STYLE 2013-2015. I FIND IT VERY BAD THAT I HAVE TO PAY $1,000 FOR THE DEALERSHIP TO TAKE MY BUMPER OFF TO INSTALL NEW HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES WHICH WILL DO THE SAME THING IN 2-3 YEARS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE HENDERSON DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,036.
I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH MY BRAKES, THEY SQIUK ALL THE TIME. THE ENGINE LIGHT COME ON AND I WAS TOLD THAT I HAD TO REPLACE THE MASS AIR FLOW SENSER MY CAR IS ONLY A 2015. THIS IS NOT RIGHT.

INITIALLY I THOUGHT MY EYESE WERE GOING BAD, BUT AFTER RESEARCHING, THERE IS RECURRING INCIDENCE OF OF CONSUMERS REPORTING DIM HEADLIGHTS. ITS TO THE POINT THAT I TRY NOT TO DRIVE AT NIGHT, AND IF I DO, I HAVE TO USE MY HIGH BEAMS WHICH POSES A HAZARD TO OTHER DRIVERS. NISSSAN IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, HOWEVER IS CHARGING OVER $1000 TO REPLACE THE HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY BECAUSE SIMPLY REPLACING THE BULB IS NOT THE SOLUTION. Fatally flawed Nissan headlight assembly. The dim low-beam headlights of my 2015 Nissan Altima have been the subject of a class action lawsuit against Nissan. They may or may not have been the subject of a proposed or actual recall. My dealer is now telling me that I missed some deadline under an “inspection recall.” Apparently to confirm whether my headlights are dim or not. My vehicle was in a Nissan service center for other repairs in Jan of 2018 and again in June of 2021, they ran my VIN number. They should have told me there was some arbitrary deadline to meet to fix their fatally flawed headlight assembly. Someone at Nissan consumer affairs tells me that my VIN number isn’t included in the lawsuit/recall. This is irrelevant. My headlights are certainly UNSAFELY DIM. My 17 yr old Toyota and 19 yr old dodge both have brighter headlights than my 7 yr old Nissan. I expect Nissan to do what is right. This is a defective part that will lead to injury. I’m only asking for my vehicle to be safe again. This should be a wide recall with NO arbitrary deadlines. I fear for the safety of my wife and my children.
HELLO, I DRIVE A 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA S WITH 115,000 MILES ON IT. THE OTHER NIGHT I WAS PULLED OVER FOR NOT HAVING MY HEADLIGHTS ON. THE THING IS, MY HEADLIGHTS WERE ON. MY HEADLIGHTS ARE SO INCREDIBLY DIM (AS A RESULT OF A FACTORY DEFECT IN MY VEHICLE) THAT THE POLICE OFFICER BEHIND ME COULDN'T TELL THAT THEY WERE ON. I WAS GIVEN A WARNING AND TOLD THAT I NEED TO ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM. I HAVE TRIED TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE IN THE PAST. I'VE BEEN TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP TWICE ABOUT THIS, BOTH TIMES I WAS TOLD THAT THIS IS A WELL KNOWN ISSUE BUT THERE IS NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE BESIDES CHANGING THE ENTIRE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY. EVEN IF I DO, I WAS TOLD, THIS PROBLEM WILL LIKELY HAPPEN AGAIN. THE PLASTIC THAT IMMEDIATELY SURROUNDS MY HEADLIGHT IS CHEAP, AND AS IT HEATS UP, IT PRODUCES A GAS THAT FOGS UP THE ENTIRE HEADLIGHT. THE LEFT HEADLIGHT IS COMPLETELY USELESS AND THE RIGHT ONE I HAVE AROUND 3 FEET OF VISIBILITY. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE MY CAR HAD 25,000 MILES ON IT AND I AM FED UP WITH IT. IT IS TOO DANGEROUS FOR ME TO DRIVE AT NIGHT WITHOUT MY HIGH BEAMS ON. I KNOW THIS IS HAPPENING TO LOTS OF OTHER PEOPLE TOO. LOW BEAMS ARE EXTREMELY DIM. IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO SEE AT NIGHT. EVEN HARDER TO SEE IF THERE IS RAIN. REPLACING THE BULB TO THE HIGHEST DEGREE DOES NOT SOLVE PROBLEM. MANY OWNERS HAVE COMPLAINED OF THE SAME PROBLEM. NISSAN IS AWARE BUT HAS NOT RECALLED. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. I CAN ONLY SEE WITH THE HIGH BEAMS. THIS CAUSES PROBLEMS FOR OTHER DRIVERS. PLEASE AT LEAST INVESTIGATE THIS ISSUE.
TAKATA RECALL. WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH ON THE FREEWAY, THE VEHICLE SLOWED DOWN SIGNIFICANTLY TO ABOUT 30 MPH AND I COULD NOT ACCELERATE. SOON AFTER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I TOOK MY CAR TO AUTOZONE AND DID A SYSTEM CHECK, I RECEIVED THE ERROR CODE P2101 DETECTING THE THROTTLE ACTUATOR CONTROL TO BE AN ISSUE. THE NEXT DAY, WHEN MY CAR WAS IN PARK MY RPMS WERE UP TO 2,000. WHEN BEGINNING TO DRIVE, I WOULD RELEASE THE BRAKE AND WITHOUT HITTING THE GAS I WOULD GO UPWARDS OF 25 MPH. THE AMOUNT OF TIME THAT I DRIVE THE VEHICLE DOES NOT MATTER AND THERE IS NO IN BETWEEN, THE CAR IS EITHER REARING TO GO OR WANTS TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP.
NISSAN NORTH AMERICA, INC. (NISSAN) IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2015 ALTIMA AND 2016 MAXIMA VEHICLES MANUFACTURED OCTOBER 6, 2015, TO OCTOBER 7, 2015. THE AFFECTED VEHICLES HAVE FRONT BRAKE CALIPERS WHOSE MOUNTING BOLTS MAY NOT BE PROPERLY TIGHTENED. I CRASH MY CAR ON AUG/16 AND DEC/17. BOTH FOR THE SAME REASON. I LEASE THIS CAR ON MARCH/2016. I'M NOT SURE THAT THE DEALER FIX THE PROBLEM BEFORE LEASED.
GREETINGS, I AM WRITING THIS COMPLAINT TO NOTIFY THE NHTSA OF A DEADLY PROBLEM WITH THE CVT TRANSMISSION IN THE NISSAN ALTIMA! I HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS WHERE THE VEHICLE EITHER TURNS OFF, STUTTERS, OR AND HESITATES FOR SEVERAL SECONDS. THIS HESITATION IS DEADLY BECAUSE WHEN PULLING OUT OR MERGING ON TO A HIGHWAY THERE IS LOSS OF POWER AND THIS WILL CAUSE A FATAL ACCIDENT DUE TO THE VEHICLE NOT ACCELERATING AS EXPECTED. IN FACT, THIS ISSUE IS SO PREVALENT THAT NISAAN REPROGRAMMED THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE (TCM). THIS HALF MEASURE IS LITTLE TOO LITTLE TOO LATE AS TRANSMISSION DAMAGE HAS ALREADY OCCURRED AND IT LEADS TO PREMATURE FAILURE. THIS FAILURE LEADS TO THE VEHICLE BEING A HAZARD IN TRAFFIC. I PERSONALLY HAVE DOZENS OF ACCOUNTS WHERE THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME. THE MOST RECENT WAS ON 12/11/17 WHILE DRIVING ON A BUSY STREET WHEN THE CAR SIMPLY LOST POWER AND DIED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET. A CAR BEHIND SWERVED EXCESSIVELY TO AVOID HITTING ME AND IN DOING ALMOST HAD AN ACCIDENT WITH ANOTHER MOTORIST! THE CAR HAD TO BE PUSHED INTO A NEARBY PARKING LOT AND WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP RAN A DIAGNOSTIC AND CONFIRMED THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I FOUND THIS RATHER DUBIOUS AS THE VEHICLE IS A 2015. I BEGAN INVESTIGATING THIS ISSUE FURTHER. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION, I FOUND THIS PROBLEM IS EXTREMLY PREVALENT WITH THIS MODEL. THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF INCIDENTS OF OWNERS HAVING AN EXPERIENCE AKIN TO MINE. NISSAN IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND HAS YET TO ADMIT FAULT. THE REPROGRAMMING OF THE TCM IS A CLEAR INDICATION NISSAN IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND IS ATTEMPTING TO REMEDY IT BY ELIMINATING CERTAIN SHIFT POINTS; HOWEVER, IT IS INADEQUATE AND THE DAMAGE HAS ALREADY BEEN DONE. THE LIVES OF PEOPLE ARE AT STAKE WITH THIS TRANSMISSION! IS IT JUST OF MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THE LOSS OF LIFE WILL OCCUR BECAUSE OF THIS FAULTY CVT TRANSMISSION! THANK YOU!

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 61,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TAKATA RECALL: BOTH MY PREVIOUS NISSAN ALTIMA 2007 AND MY CURRENT ALTIMA HAS SPORADIC SIGNALS OF THE AIRBAG BEING OFF WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. SINCE IT IS INCONSISTENT I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO TAKE TO DEALER TO PINPOINT THIS ISSUE. I FEEL THAT IT MAY BE A SAFETY ISSUE. I AM THE PASSENGER AND HEAVY ENOUGH TO ACTIVATE AIRBAG. THIS FORM DOES NOT ALLOW ME TO SHOW HOW MANY TIMES OR DATES THIS HAPPENS.
I OWN A 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA - AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN I95 SOUTH IN WASHINGTON DC, THE CAR STARTING REVVING AND JERKING. NO WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON, AND WHILE DRIVING 65 MILES PER HOUR, IT BECAME VERY UNSAFE. I BROUGHT IT TO THE NISSAN DEALER AND THEY SAID THE TRANSMISSION (CVT) IS BAD AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED - $4300 AND NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY BECAUSE OF 79K MILES ON THE CAR. I CHECKED ON-LINE AND THEIR SEEMS TO BE A TON OF CVT TRANSMISSION ISSUES WITH NISSAN, TO INCLUDE SOME CLASS ACTION SUITS. WHEN TALKING TO THE SERVICE REP HERE, HE SAID THEY SEE IT ALL THE TIME. I AM NOT SURE WHY THERE HASN'T BEEN A RECALL ON THIS. DRIVING A RELATIVELY NEW CAR (2 YEARS OLD) THAT STOPS / REVS / JERKS WITH OUT WARNING IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE COMPLAINING!
The low beam headlights on my 2015 Nissan Altima S are dangerously dim. I can barely see the road at night unless I have my high beams on. I have replaced the bulbs with high performance bulbs and there was no improvement. I cleaned the headlight covers with no improvement. I have read online that this is a problem with 5th generation Nissan The low-beam headlights in the 5th generation Altima are dangerously dim. The reflective material inside the projector headlights can wear down, drastically reducing the beam's power In December of 2018 this problem ranked 10th in CarComplaints.com top problem trends list.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND OFFERED TO PARTIALLY PAY FOR THE REPAIR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 67,600.
I GOT MY NISSAN IN DECEMBER 2015 I HAD IT ALMOST 2 YEARS NOW THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE DEAL SAID THE CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY ...SHOULD MY CAR HAVE ENGINE PROBLEMS AT 2 YEARS OLD?
MY CAR CAUGHT FIRE AND WAS TOTALED. I HAD BEEN SMELLING SOMETHING THE DAY BEFORE IT CAUGHT ON FIRE. I WAS DRIVING ON THE CITY STREET AND I SMELLED THE SMELL I HAD BEEN SMELLING STRONGER AND I LOOKED AT THE HOOD AND IT WAS SMOKING. I PULLED OVER AND MORE SMOKING STARTED POURING OUT FROM MY CAR. THEN THE DASHBOARD WENT OFF. I GOT OUT AND CALLED 911 AND BY THE TIME THEY GOT THERE THE FRONT OF MY CAR WAS ON FIRE. AFTER IT WAS PUT OUT THE FIRE HAD BURNED THROUGH JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING UNDER THE HOOD.
THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG INDICATOR LIGHT INTERMITTENTLY INDICATES THAT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG IS OFF WHEN SOMEONE IS SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. THIS GENERALLY HAPPENS WHEN I FIRST TURN THE VEHICLE ON AND THERE IS SOMEONE ALREADY SITTING IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. IF I SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON THEN THE AIRBAG LIGHT WILL GO OFF INDICATING THAT THE AIRBAG IS ON. I TOOK IT TO THE NISSAN DEALER AND THEY SAID THAT THE COMPUTER DOES NOT SHOW A PROBLEM AND THAT THERE IS NOTHING THAT THEY CAN DO ABOUT IT. THEY TOLD ME THAT THE AIRBAG SYSTEM WAS UNDER WARRANTY THROUGH 99,999 MILES OR 2030 IF THERE IS AN INCIDENT IT WOULD BE COVERED. THAT IS NOT VERY REASSURING TO HEAR THAT IF THE AIRBAG FAILS IT WILL BE COVER UNDER WARRANTY.
