I BOUGHT MY CAR 2017 FROM DEALER ITS 107000 MILES ON IT AND SUDDEN CAR TRANSMISSION START MAKING NOISE WHILE I WAS ON HIGHWAY , NISSAN DEALER CHECKED MY CAR AND THEY SAY MY TRANSMISSION HAVE TO CHANGE WHICH COST 4000$ AND IT ALOT AND IF I DONT DO MY CAR WILL BE STOP ANY TIME I NEED HELP BECAUSE IT IS TOO EARLY TO BRAKE DOWN TRANSMISSION THANK YOU

ARIZONA EMISSIONS TESTING PROVIDED ME A RECALL ON SECONDARY HOOD LATCH. ON 8/31/20 I CALLED THOROUGHBRED NISSAN TO CORRECT AND THE SERVICE ADVISOR SAID PARTS WILL NOT BE READY, IF READY BY NEXT YEAR.
MY BACK BREAK LIGHTS KEEP BURNING OUT AND THE CASING LOOKS LIKE IT'S BURNED NOW. COULD IT CATCH FIRE?
THE HEADLIGHTS ARE VERY DIM. VERY POOR VISIBILITY CAUSING TO NOT BE ABLE TO SEE WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT.

ON 8/8/2020 I WAS GOING TO MY NIECE'S BIRTHDAY PARTY. WHILE THE CAR WAS IN MOTION ON THE BELTWAY, MY HOOD POPPED UP 5 TIMES. I HAD TO CONTINUOUSLY PULL OVER ON THE SHOULDER OF THE BELTWAY (WHICH IS VERY DANGEROUS) TO KEEP RE-CLOSING THE HOOD. I WAS VERY SCARED AND CONCERNED THE HOOD WOULD FLY UP WHILE I WAS DRIVING WHICH WOULD CAUSE ME NOT TO BE ABLE TO SEE THE ROAD AT ALL. THIS WAS NOT THE FIRST TIME THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED. IT'S BEEN HAPPENING ON AND OFF FOR AT LEAST 2 WEEKS. ON 8/10/2020 I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REGULAR MAINTENANCE AND TO MY SURPRISE NISSAN DOESN'T HAVE A FIX TO THIS PROBLEM. I NOW HAVE TO BE WITHOUT MY VEHICLE FOR HOW EVER LONG UNTIL NISSAN CAN COME UP WITH A TEMPORARY FIX AND WAS NOT OFFERED A LOANER VEHICLE. I AM HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED WITH NISSAN AND I HAVE BEEN A CUSTOMER FOR YEARS.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, HEADING HOME AND RANDOMLY THE HOOD ON THE CAR FLEW OPEN. I BELIEVE THE HOOD LATCH IS FAULTY DUE TO THE RECALL. I WAS DRIVING AT 40 MPH ON THE HWY. MY VIEW WAS OBSTRUCTED BUT I SAFELY PULLED THE VEHICLE IN TO THE SERVICE LANE. I HOPPED OUT THE CAR TO CHECK THE DAMAGES AND NOTICE THE FRONT PANELS ON BOTH SIDES OF MY VEHICLE WAS BROKE BECAUSE OF THE HOOD LATCH FLYING OPENED. LUCKILY MY WINDSHIELD DID NOT BREAK DUE TO THIS BECAUSE AS THE DRIVER I'VE COULD'VE BEEN INJURED. THE HOOD WOULD NOT SAFELY CLOSED AND I HAD TO DRIVE SLOW ON THE STREET TO MAKE HOME SAFELY. GEICO INSURANCE HAS PICTURES AND MORE EXPLANATIONS OF THE DAMAGES.

MY 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA BEGAN STALLING WHEN I ENGAGED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. IT STALLED AND EVENTUALLY SOUNDED AS IF IT WERE STRUGGLING TO SHIFT GEARS BEGAN MOVING FORWARD. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, I WAS FORCED TO ABRUPTLY ENGAGE THE BRAKE PEDAL TO AVOID CRASHING INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE; HOWEVER, WHEN I APPLIED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL THE VEHICLE STRAINED TO MOVE FORWARD AND ACCELERATE BUT WITHIN A FEW MINUTES I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE NORMAL SPEED. THE VEHICLE DOES HESITATE EVERY TIME I DRIVE IT.
AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON OUT OF NOWHERE AND CANNOT GET IT TO RESET. I'VE DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY AND TRIED THE RESET WITH KEY IGNITION AND NEITHER WORK.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED AND THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO OPEN THE HOOD TO HAVE A PERSONAL A MECHANIC TO INSPECT THE ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATION, AND THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN UNKNOWN DEALER TO ASSIST WITH THE HOOD LOCK, HOWEVER THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO EXPLAIN TO THE CONTACT HOW TO OPEN THE VEHICLE HOOD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE PERSONAL MECHANIC FOR THE ENGINE INSPECTION AND THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO UNLATCH THE HOOD THEREFORE, THE VEHICLE ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATION WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 61,820.
WHEN I DRIVE AT NIGHT WITH THE LIGHTS ON LOW BEAM THEY ARE DANGEROUSLY DIM. IT IS VERY HARD TO SEE.

MY SON WAS DRIVING MY WIFE'S 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA DOWN THE DRIVEWAY(APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH) WHEN THE REAR LEFT SUSPENSION BROKE. HE CONTINUED TO DRIVE IT SLOWLY FOR ANOTHER MILE ALONG THE SIDE OF THE ROAD HAVING, DIFFICULTY STEERING, AND HOPING TO MAKE IT TO THE NEARBY MECHANIC. HE STOPPED AFTER A MILE AND CALLED ME. I WAS ABLE TO SEE THE DRIVER SIDE REAR SUSPENSION ARM WAS BROKE AND THE TIRE WAS ANGLED.(THE PASSENGER SIDE WAS SEVERLY CORRODED ALSO) THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE MECHANIC AND HE FILED WARRANTEE INFORMATION. THE WARRANTEE WAS DENIED BECAUSE IT WAS A CORROSION ISSUE. I AM GRATEFUL THIS DID NOT HAPPEN ON THE HIGHWAY!!! IF IT IS HARD TO STEER A VEHICLE AT 20 MPH, WHAT WOULD HAPPEN AT 75 MPH. HOW IS THIS NOT A SAFETY PROBLEM? A MAIN SUSPENSION ARM RUSTING OUT IN LESS THAN 5 YEARS, AND KNOWN COMMON PROBLEM IN NORTHERN CLIMATES??

ON THE NIGHT OF JULY 27, 2020, WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON HIGHWAY 83 FROM SAN BENITO, TX TO MY HOME IN EDINBURG TX, I JUST NOTICED THAT THE RED AIRBAG INDICATOR LIGHT JUST POPPED UP FROM NOWHERE. I WAS ALARMED ABOUT THIS AND I THOUGHT MY PASSENGER (MY WIFE) JUST DIDN'T PUT ON HER SEATBELT. BUT WHEN I CHECKED SHE WAS USING HER SEATBELT. SO I WENT AHEAD AND LOOK AGAIN THAT RED INDICATOR LIGHT AND I NOTICED THAT IT WAS THE AIRBAG INDICATOR LIGHT. THE CONTACT INITIALLY TOOK THE VEHICLE TO COGGIN NISSAN AT THE AVENUES IN JACKSONVILLE (10859 PHILIPS HWY, JACKSONVILLE, FL 32256) WHERE HE WAS INFORMED THAT THE AIR BAGS WERE DEFECTIVE AND WERE INOPERABLE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE AIR BAG SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED HOWEVER, THEY COULD NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE REPAIR WOULD FIX THE DEFECT. THE MANUFACTURER HAD ALSO BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE WHERE THEY INFORMED HIM THAT THEY MAY COVER 60% OF THE COST OF THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER THEN REFERRED HIM TO NISSAN OF ORANGE PARK (7447 BLANDING BLVD, JACKSONVILLE, FL 32244) WHERE HE MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO BE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 29,000.
I HAVE BEEN RECEIVING RECALLS FOR MY CAR REGARDING THE TRANSMISSION THE EXTENDED THE WARRANTY, THE PRIMARY HOOD LATCH DISENGAGED WHICH COULD OBSCURE THE DRIVERS VISION INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
I WAS NOTIFIED BY THE CAR SHARING PLATFORM THAT I ADVERTISE MY CAR ON THAT IT HAD A RECALL SUMMER OF 2020 AND THAT I COULD NOT PUT MY CAR ON THE PLATFORM UNTIL THE SAFETY ISSUE WAS REPAIRED. THE SAFETY ISSUE IS MOSTLY PREVALENT WHERE THERE IS A LOT OF SALT USED FOR DEICING THE ROADWAYS ON THE EAST COAST. I AM ON THE WEST COAST SO DOES NOT APPLY TO ME. I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO MAKE ANY MONEY WITH MY CAR WHICH IS THE ONLY REASON I PURCHASED IT. I CHECKED TODAY AND THERE IS STILL NO FIX... FOR A HOOD LATCH!! I CAN NOT SELL THE CAR AS AN ACTIVE RECALL, EVEN A MINOR ONE SUCH AS THIS, DEVALUES MY CAR AND I WOULD STILL OWE ON MY LOAN. NISSAN DRAGGING THEIR FEET ON THIS FIX HAS RESULTED IN ME LOSING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IN INCOME.

RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE 20V-315, STATING THE SECONDARY HOOD LATCH MAY NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY. LETTER INDICATES A REMEDY EXPECTED IN THE MID-2021 TIMEFRAME. THIS IS UNEXCEPTABLE AS THIS IS NOT A NEW ISSUE AND HAS BEEN A KNOWN ISSUE SINCE AT LEAST 2016.
THE HEADLIGHT COMPONENT IS OF VERY POOR QUALITY. IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT KIND OF BULBS ARE PLACED IN THE HEADLIGHTS, THE LIGHT DOES NOT PROJECT ONTO THE ROAD ENOUGH TO SEE WELL AT NIGHT. THE HEADLIGHTS DON'T PROJECT FAR ENOUGH OUT AND YOU ARE ONLY ABLE TO SEE THE ROAD THAT IS BARELY IN FRONT OF YOU, NOT EVEN TO THE SIDES. I HAVE TRIED UPGRADING THE BULBS MULTIPLE TIMES AND THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE PLACE OF PURCHASE BUT THE CONTACT WAS THEN REFERRED TO ANOTHER INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR ASSISTANCE. THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE WITH A DEFECT WITHIN THE TRANSMISSION AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO AN AUTHORIZED NISSAN DEALER TO ENSURE THAT THE REPAIR WOULD BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE CONTACT HAD TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO STATE LINE NISSAN (10401 MADISON AVE, KANSAS CITY, MO 64114) WHERE THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE VEHICLE AND REFUSED TO SERVICE IT UNDER WARRANTY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 63,148.

AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT FOR DRIVER SIDE IS ON AND WONT GO OFF
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that the front headlights were dim and failed to function as intended. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The contact stated that in the past five years the headlights had been replaced two times. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. Additionally, the contact was informed that a previous warranty for the repair had expired. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
I AM ALSO HAVING AN ISSUE WITH THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS BEING DANGEROUSLY INEFFECTIVE FOR NIGHT DRIVING OR INCLEMENT WEATHER. IT SEEMS THAT THEIR ARE MORE THAN AN ADEQUATE AMOUNT OF COMPLAINTS FILED TO WARRANT SOME ACTION. MY DAUGHTER AND GRAND CHILDREN RIDE IN THIS VEHICLE AND THERE BETTER NOT ANYTHING HAPPEN TO THEM BECAUSE OF THIS. NISSAN NOR NHTSA HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO SETTLE THAT LAWSUIT. LIGHTS DECLINED GRADUALLY. FROM ONLINE RESEARCH I SEE THAT THE ISSUE IS THE REFLECTORS INSIDE THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES. I HAVE ALSO CHANGED TO "BRIGHTER" BULBS, NO HELP. I'VE RESEARCHED AFTERMARKET HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES AND THEY ALSO SEEM INFERIOR.
THE LOW BEAM DRIVERS HEADLIGHT HAS BECOME VERY DIM. THE BULBS WERE REPLACED WITH THE SAME HALOGEN TYPE, BUT THERE WAS NO DIFFERENCE. THE HEADLAMP APPEARS TO BE CLOUDED ON THE INSIDE LENS. THE EXTERIOR HEADLAMP SURFACE IS CLEAR. THIS IS HAPPENING ALL THE TIME.

I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM THE GYM WHEN MY CAR HAD A FUNKY SMELL, SO I STOPPED AT A FRIENDS HOUSE, I OPENED THE HOOD AND IT TURNED OUT IT WAS SOMETHING WITH MY TIRES, BUT THE SMELL WENT AWAY, AS SOON AS I GOT BACK INTO MY VEHICLE A D I DROVE MAYBE A QUARTER MILE AWAY I WAS MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN WHEN MY HOOD SUDDENLY POPPED OPEN, EVEN THOUGH I MADE SURE IT WAS CLOSED, THAT HAS NEVER HAPPENED TO ME AND EVER SINCE THEN I BEEN AFRAID OF OPENING THE HOOD TO EVEN CHECK ON ANYTHING. *TR
THE HOOD OPENED WHILE DRIVING. THE HOOD STRUCK AND BROKE THE WINDSHIELD, DAMAGED BOTH FENDERS AT THE TOP AND OBSCURED THE DRIVERS PATH.
I LEASED THIS VEHICLE IN 2015 AND PURCHASED IT IN 2018 WITH 60003 MILES. I BEGAN EXPERIENCING A LOSS OF ACCELERATION FROM A STOP AT ABOUT 80K MILES, IT HAPPENED INTERMITTENTLY A FEW TIMES OVER THE NEXT YEAR. MY VEHICLE JUST BROKE 100K MILES, THE ISSUE HAS BECOME MUCH MORE FREQUENT IN THE LAST MONTH, WHEN PULLING OUT ACROSS TRAFFIC, WHEN STARTING FROM A STOP LIGHT OR SIGN. THE VEHICLE HAS LITTLE TO NO RESPONSE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR IS PRESSED, OR EVEN PRESSED ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. IT WILL SOMETIMES ENGAGE AFTER PUTTING THE CAR BACK INTO PARK, AND THEN BACK INTO DRIVE. OTHER TIMES IT WILL VERY SLOWLY ACCELERATE TAKING AS MUCH AS 30 SECONDS TO INCREASE 10 MPH. I DID SOME BASIC INTERNET RESEARCH AND FOUND MANY NISSAN VEHICLES WITH CVT TRANSMISSIONS HAVE ISSUES, AND SUBSEQUENT CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS. I TOOK MY VEHICLE INTO THE DEALER, WITH 102K MILES. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THE FAULTY CVT, AND INDICATED THAT MY SPECIFIC MODEL DOES NOT HAVE ITS TRANSMISSION UNDER WARRANTY UP TO 120K MILES LIKE OTHER VEHICLES, AND THAT THE VEHICLE WARRANTY IS ONLY VALID UP TO 84K MILES. I ASKED FOR DOCUMENTATION AS I COULD NOT FIND ANY ON THE WEB DESIGNATING THIS NEW 84K MILE LIMITATION, THEY EMAILED ME AN IMAGE OF A SERVICE BULLETIN INDICATING 84K MILES AS THE LIMITATION WHERE NISSAN ACCEPTS LIABILITY FOR THIS KNOWN ISSUE. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AS THE VEHICLE WILL BEGIN TO ACCELERATE AND THEN HAVE NOTHING AFTER YOU HAVE PULLED INTO TRAFFIC. LUCKILY, I HAVE NOT BEEN HIT WHILE ENTERING OR TURNING ACROSS TRAFFIC. SO IT HAPPENS WHEN STATIONARY AND IN MOTION, ON CITY STREETS AND HIGHWAYS, BOTH TURNING AND GOING STRAIGHT. *TR
I was on the highway and my car would not accelerate at all, during up hill or flat portions of the highway . This was was super scary because I’m on the highway in Pennsylvania so there’s semi’s flying by. So I pulled off an exit turned the car off waited, unplugged the battery and after a few mins I plugged the battery in and started the car. This did not work at all, so I took a backroad home, later on the car started working correctly. I made an appointment to get the car looked at (thank goodness for extended warranties) but it happened again while I was getting on the highway, I almost got hit by a semi hauling a reefer, almost peeled myself swerved into the side of the highway. Cause a ton of traffic, cuz I could not get home any other way, so I took it in that same day freaking out cuz I almost died. The said it was a bad O2 sensor and that it was covered under the warranty. So they fixed it and everything was fine until last year I got sideswiped by this old lady in a old af Hyundai suv. And she literally took my entire front fascia so my insurance covered all the repairs and the rental I needed but once they gave it back I noticed the car was hesitating again I legit took it right back. I think I only had the car for 20mins. So they took it to a Nissan dealership so they could run their own test because the O2 seemed fine. Turns out the tranny needed an update… didn’t know that transmission could get an update like my iPhone. Anyway the car has been working perfectly fine since I did have to buy aftermarket head lights since the oem are trash and in PA there’s tons of deer everywhere. I do take very good care of my car it is currently at almost 180,000 and still runs super well. I do keep up with all maintenance since I do it myself. Haven’t had any real issues that I can’t fix. With the exception of the AC not working but the car is obviously out of warranty and I haven’t had the time to get under the beauty cover to look at it.

HEADLIGHTS LOW BEAMS DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY, YOU CAN HARDLY SEE THE ROAD AT NIGHT, AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT WAS THE BULBS, BUT I WENT TO BUY SOME LED LIGHTS TO SEE IF IT WORKED BETTER BUT IT DID NOT, I EVEN PAID FOR MY HEADLIGHTS TO BE POLISHED, BUT DID NOT SEE ANY CHANGE, I LOOKED FOR INFORMATION AND THERE WAS A LAW SUE AGAINST NISSAN FOR THE HEADLIGHTS, THEY FIND OUT THAT THE CHROME INSIDE THE LIGHT GETS DETERIORATED WITH TIME AND THAT CAUSES THAT THE LIGHT GET BLURRED,AND THE ONLY SOLUTION IS TO BUY NEW HEADLIGHTS, WHICH I DONT THINK IS FAIR SINCE IS A MANUFACTURE PROBLEM AND NOT A WEAR AND TEAR ISSUE, PLUS IS A SAFETY ISSUE SINCE YOU CAN NOT SEE CLEARLY AT NIGHT WHENYOU DRIVE.
I WAS DRIVING AND REALIZED MY HOOD WASN'T LOCKED IN PLACE PROPERLY. AS I'M DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE (I-95) THE HOOD WAS SEEMINGLY BLOWING WITH THE WIND GOING UNDER IT. I HAD TO PULL OVER ON I-95 TO LIFT AND FORCE IT TO CLOSE DOWN COMPLETELY.
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that the side mirrors adjuster switch was no longer operable. The contact stated that the passenger's side headlight was inoperable. The contact stated that her husband was an independent mechanic, and he replaced the passenger's side headlight bulb. The contact stated that 6 months later, the driver's side headlight became inoperable. The light bulb was replaced; however, the failure persisted. Additionally, the rear passenger's side and front driver's side parking lights, and the front driver's side and passenger's side fog lights became inoperable. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact's husband inspected the headlight fuses and noticed that they were in good condition; however, the contact's husband replaced the headlight fuses, but the failure persisted. The contact's husband determined that the fuse box was overloaded. The contact's husband installed a secondary fuse box under the hood, and connected some of the headlight wires, and the headlights became operable, except for the fog lights. An unknown dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in a recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 35,000.
CAR WILL FREQUENTLY DELAY MOVING FORWARD FROM A STOP WHEN PRESSING THE GAS. IT TAKE ABOUT 5 SECONDS FOR IT TO RESPOND. ALSO THE CAR DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY SHIFT WHEN ACCELERATING. I HAVE TO TAKE MY FOOT OFF THE GAS FOR THE CAR TO SHIFT TO STOP THE RPMS FROM REVVING TOO HIGH. THIS WILL OCCURS WHEN TRYING TO GAIN SPEED FROM A STOP. THESE ARE BOTH SAFETY ISSUES BECAUSE MY CARS REACTIONARY TIME IS DELAYED OR IMPAIRED. *TR
I take my wife's Nissan Altima (2015) to dealer (Jackie Cooper, Tulsa) regularly and (in 2020) asked them why the headlights were so dim. Told me there was a class action suit ongoing and that we could fix it and wait for the settlement to submit receipts, or we could wait and that they would call when the suit was settled. Was never notified by dealership that we could bring it in to get replaced. Called again to check status (10/24) I found out that the deadline is now passed and we can not get it repaired unless we pay. No dealer notification and because Nissan did not ever inform us, we now need to do it on our own. Unsatisfactory (and expensive). It is a known defect and should have been repaired when we brought it in for regular service. This car is unsafe to drive at night, but not due to anything we have done and it should be fixed since we were not notified. 2015 Nissan Altima with 74478 miles and has always been well cared for. Because this is a know problem, mileage and length of time should not have anything to do with fixing it, ESPECIALLY since they neglected to call us. It is a safety problem. My wife (the driver) is [XXX] and needs headlights that work. I never drive the car but I did last night to get gas. The lights are terrible. Dim and yellowish. I spent 80.00 on a kit to buff out the clear lens but that did little to nothing. THIS IMPACTS SAFETY AND I WANT IT FIXED!!!! THE NISSAN MANUFACTURER CLAIM THEY CAN'T REMEDY THIS SAFETY RECALL ISSUE TILL MID 2021 AND I USE MY VEHICLE COMMERCIALLY. AS OF RESULT MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN REMOVED FROM TURO SITE AS BEING A SAFETY CONCERN TO WHICH I'M NOT ALLOWED TO CORRECT DUE TO NISSAN.
