WHEN COMING TO A STOP THE CAR WILL SHAKE A LITTLE BIT AND THEN WHEN I GO TO ACCELERATE THROUGH A LIGHT THE TRANSMISSION WILL SLIP AND THE CAR WILL JUST SIT THERE FOR A FEW SECONDS AND THEN THE TRANSMISSION WILL KICK IN AND THERE WILL BE A JERK AND OFF I GO. The contact stated while driving approximately 15 mph and making a left turn, the vehicle shifted from power steering to manual steering mode making it difficult to steer the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle regained power steering functionality momentarily however, the failure recurred. There was no warning light illuminated. The local dealer was made aware of the failure however, the vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 19,000.
I CONTACTED THE CLAY COOLEY DEALERSHIP IN DALLAS FOUND AT 39690 LYNDON B JOHNSON FWY SOUTH, DALLAS, TX 75237 ON MAY 1ST, 20202 VIA CHAT FOR AN AIRBAG SERVICE RECALL. AFTER OVER A MONTH CONTACTING THE DEALERSHIP, I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ONE PHONE CALL OR EMAIL FROM CLAY COOLEY NISSAN. DURING THIS TIME, I SPOKE WITH FOUR (4) DIFFERENT REPRESENTATIVES OVER THE CHAT ABOUT THE NEED TO SCHEDULE AN AIRBAG SERVICE RECALL. AFTER THE SECOND REPRESENTATIVE IN A PERIOD OF TWO WEEKS, ALL REPRESENTATIVES APOLOGIZED FOR NO ONE CONTACTING ME ABOUT THE ISSUE AND ASSURED A SPECIALIST WOULD CONTACTED ME SOON. TODAY IS 5/31 AND I'M STILL WAITING ON THE PHONE CALL OR EMAIL. I'M ATTACHING THE COPY OF ALL CHAT WITH THE REPRESENTATIVES.

MY WIFE'S 2015 ALTIMA 2.5 SL HAS A TREMENDOUS WATER LEAK ON THE DRIVERS SIDE FILLING THE CABIN WITH INCHES OF WATER. THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN GARAGE KEPT FOR THE 5YRS, BUT WITH THE PURCHASE OF MY NEW CAR WE KNOW KEEP THE ALTIMA IN THE DRIVEWAY. AFTER A RECENT RAIN I NOTICED A VERY STRONG MUSTY, MOLDY ODOR AND THE SOUND OF WATER AS I BACKED OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY, AS I REACHED LEVEL GROUND MY FEET WHERE SOAKED WITH WATER. I HAVE HAD THE DRAIN TUBES CLEANED AND CLEARED AS THIS WAS MENTION TO ME AT THE DEALERSHIP AS A COMMON PROBLEM. THIS DID NOT FIX THE WATER LEAK AND NISSAN REQUIRES $475 TO CHECK THE PROBLEM FURTHER. I DID A SEARCH ONLINE AND NOTICED THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH NISSAN VEHICLES, AS THIS WATER LEAK SEEM TO COME FROM FAULTY STRUCTURAL WELDING IT'S A SAFETY HAZARD TO THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE AS A WHOLE, WE NOW EXPERIENCE SLIGHT ELECTRICAL GLITCHES WITH OUR ALTIMA WHICH AGAIN I FEEL IS A SAFETY HAZARD.

THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V681000 (AIR BAGS) HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
My concern is the headlights when driving at night. I have been stopped twice because od dim headlights.

DRIVING AT 45 MPH AND THE TRANS WENT OUT. ONLY 81K MILES ON THE CAR
HAVING INTERMITTENT ISSUE WITH ACCELERATOR NOT FUNCITIONING. FROM TIME TO TIME YOU CAN STEP ON GAS AND IT WILL NOT RESPOND. OTHER ISSUE IS THE CRUISE CONTROL WILL NOT FUNCITION INTERMITTENTLY.
WILL NOT ACCELERATE FROM THE START. HAS A FEW SECOND DELAY BEFORE ACCELERATION OCCURS. THIS OCCURS WHEN THE CAR IS STATIONARY AND NEED TO START ACCELERATING AT A RED LIGHT OR STOP SIGN. SOMETIMES I HAVE TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK, SHUT IT OFF AND RESTART IT WHILE AT A RED LIGHT.

BOUGHT USED 2015 ALTIMA SV 13 DAYS AGO. BRAND NEW TIRES WERE PUT ON BEFORE I TOOK DELIVERY. THREE DAYS AGO, IT STARTED FEELING LIKE I HAVE A FLAT TIRE, DRAGGING THE RUBBER, PULLING, AND SWAYING FROM REAR WHEN I PARK. MPG IS TERRIBLE, TURNS ARE WIDER, VIBRATES IN STEERING WHEEL WHICH WORSENS AT HIGHER SPEEDS. CHECKED TIRES, SAW 9 .25 WEIGHTS ON PASS FRONT WHEEL, 2 .25 WEIGHTS ON PASS REAR WHEEL, DRIVER FRONT WHEEL HAS GLUE WITHOUT WEIGHTS, DRIVER REAR WHEEL, SAME THING. PASS REAR TIRE HAS 1/2 INCH SLOPE INSIDE ON TOP OF TREAD, LIKE IT'S SEPARATING. FEELS LIKE LOOSE SUSPENSION, WOBBLY AND OUT OF SOCKET. TIRE GUY SAYS BAD TIRE. DEALERSHIP SAYS I GOTTA PAY FOR ALIGNMENT. I JUST BOUGHT THE THING LESS THAN TWO WEEKS AGO, WITH EVERY PENNY TO MY NAME. DEALERSHIP SENT ME AWAY, UNTIL I HAVE MONEY IN MY ACCT TO ALIGN IT. THE REFLECTION ASSEMBLY IN BOTH FRONT HEADLIGHTS HAS BEEN COMING APART RESULTING IN A GRADUAL LOSS OF BRIGHTNESS. IT IS VERY HARD TO SEE WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT.
THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED. IT RAINED AND THE WATER FLOODED IN THROUGH SOME DRAIN. NOW THE VEHICLE HAD 2 INCHES OF WATER ON THE PASSENGER SIDE, FRONT AND BACK. I CALLED NISSAN AND THEY ARE NOT ACCEPTING RESPONSIBILITY. THE VEHICLE IS DEVELOPING MOLD AND ELECTRICAL ISSUES. IT IS NOT SAFE TO SIT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND IS A MAJOR HEALTH AND SAFETY ISSUE. THIS IS MANUFACTURING ISSUE BUT THE DEALERSHIP IS ATTEMPTING TO MAKE ME PAY FOR REPAIRS SINCE THE CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY.

THE CONTACT REFERENCED THE FAILURE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V029000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,000.
CAR COMPLETELY POWERED OFF WHILE TRAVELING TRAVELING AT 10MPH. THE ENGINE AND BATTERY SYMBOL APPEARED, CAR WAS ABLE TO COME TO A ROLLING STOP. PLACED IN PARK AND WAS ABLE TO RESTART WITH NO ISSUES. TEN MINUTES LATER, CAR IS TRAVELING 60MPH AND CAR POWERED OFF, CONSOLE TURNED BLACK, CAR POWERED ON, POWERED OFF AND THEN POWERED ON WHILE MAINTAINING SAME SPEED. THIRD TIME OCCURRED 5MIN LATER AS I WAS TRYING TO SAFELY PULL OVER. WAS TRAVELING UNDER 20MPH AND CAR POWERED OFF , LOCKING BREAKS AND COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP WHILE LOCKING STEERING WHEEL.

HEAD LIGHT HAS GONE DIM. I HAVE REPLACE IT 4 TIMES. IT ONLY LAST 2 -3 MONTHS. IT GETS SO DIM I HAVE TO USE MY BRIGHT LIGHTS. THIS US GETTING VERY DANGEROUS FOR ME TO DRIVE.

I HAVE NOTICED THAT WHEN PRESSING DOWN ON THE THE ACCELERATION PEDAL THERE IS SOMETIMES AN EXTENDED DELAY AND THE CAR DOES NOT MOVE. IT DOES NOT HAPPEN ALWAYS, BUT I HAVE READ THAT ALOT PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES, AND NO ONE SEEMS TO KNOW THE CAUSE. PERSONALLY, AFTER PUTTING THE CAR IN PARK, TURNING OFF AND TURNING ON THE CAR SEEMS TO ALLOW IT TO ACCELERATE AGAIN. MY SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE WITH THIS HAPPENED TWICE IN A TWO WEEK SPAN. I WAS STOPPED AT A LIGHT WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL PRESSED DOWN ON A REGULAR TWO WAY ROADWAY. AS THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, I ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE BY PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE, AND THE RPMS WOULD JUST GO UP. THIS SAME EXPERIENCE HAPPENED ANOTHER TIME AS WELL. PLEASE LOOK INTO IT AS A POSSIBLE RECALL FOR SOME PROGRAMMING ON THIS CVT TRANSMISSION, AS THIS COULD BE A VERY POTENTIALLY BAD RISK, ESPECIALLY DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WHERE LOSING THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE CAN RESULT IN MAJOR ACCIDENTS/DEATHS.
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE TOO DIM. I CAN'T SEE WELL AT NIGHT AS A RESULT. DEALER TOLD ME THE BULBS ARE FINE AND THAT THE PROBLEM RESIDES WITH THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY. MY HEAD LIGHTS ARE VERY DIM MAKING IT HARD TO SEE AT NIGHT, I ALMOST HIT A TROOPER ON A DARK ROAD AT A SCHOOL ,LIGHTS WERE VERY DIM AND HE HAD ON DARK CLOTHES.THEY HAVE BEEN GETTING DIMER EVERY NIGHT.I WAS TURNING IN TO A SCHOOL .

The dim headlights are a safety issue. I can't see how to drive at night or in the evening. I have to turn bright lights on, and it is putting other drivers at risk. Nissan is aware of this issue and wants to say that if you are out of your basic warranty you may not be able to get the light repair under goodwill. This is not the fault of their customers and they should be responsible for their additional money-making tactics. I have owned many vehicles and have never had this issue. I am not the only person who is experiencing this problem. I do not have the $1250 they are requesting to get my headlights repaired so they stuck two dim headlight bulbs in, and I still can't see. This is a dangerous issue for me and other drives. I want them to repair this issue. I just paid off my car this month $30,000 with no late payments. They should be happy to repair this safety issue. I checked for a recall and I see that there is a current investigation regarding dimming headlights for 2013-2019 Nissan Altima's. The vehicle was inspected, and they want me to pay. The vehicle was inspected, and they want me to pay. It is not fair that I have paid all that money and can't drive my car at night.
WHEN YOUR TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS ARE BRIGHTER THAN YOUR LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS YOU KNOW YOU HAVE A NISSAN ALTIMA. LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE EXTREMELY DIM. HAVE REPLACED BULBS WITH MAXIMUM BRIGHTNESS TWICE. POLY-CARBONATE HOUSING IS STILL RELATIVELY CLEAR, NO CHANGE IN CONDITION. DRIVING AT NIGHT IS HARROWING. ON HIGHWAY, WHEN CARS ARE BEHIND, THEIR HEADLIGHTS CREATE A SHADOW THAT THE ALTIMA BEAMS CANNOT OVERCOME. ON CITY STREETS OR COUNTY ROADS IF THERE ARE NO STREET LIGHTS THE LOW BEAMS PROJECT ABOUT 20 FEET. HIGH BEAMS OK UNTIL ENCOUNTER ON-COMING TRAFFIC AND MUST SWITCH TO LOW BEAMS. AT THAT POINT YOU ARE TOTALLY IN THE BLACK DUE TO THE ALTIMA WEAK BEAMS AND THE ON-COMING HEADLIGHTS. THE BEST YOU CAN DO IS HOPE THAT A WHITE LINE IS PAINTED ON THE EDGE OF THE ROADWAY AND TRY TO STAY IN THE LANE. FOG CONDITIONS AT NIGHT ARE HORRIBLE WITH WEAK LOW BEAM LIGHTS. VISIBILITY IS ABOUT 3 FEET. TURNING HIGH BEAMS ON MAKES IT EQUALLY BAD. I CAN TRY TO TAKE SOME COMPARISON PICTURES IF NHTSA THINKS IT WILL HELP CLARIFY THIS WELL DOCUMENTED ISSUE WITH THE NISSAN ALTIMA. RESEARCH INDICATES THAT REFLECTOR USED IN LIGHTING HOUSING GOES BAD AND VERY LITTLE LIGHT IS ACTUALLY PROJECTED, NO MATTER WHAT BULB IS INSTALLED. MY VEHICLE IS ALMOST UNUSABLE AT NIGHT AND DEFINITELY IN RAIN OR FOG. ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT LET MY TEEN DRIVE THE ALTIMA AT NIGHT. THIS IS A DANGEROUS SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS USG SUPPORT. NISSAN REFUSES TO TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY - REFUTING CLAIMS BY OWNERS AND STATING OVER $1000 TO FIX THE ISSUE. NISSAN WILL NOT RECALL WITHOUT USG INTERVENTION AND WE NEED NHTSA'S HELP!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE LIGHT PROJECTED FROM THE HEADLAMPS WERE EXTREMELY DIM AND INSUFFICIENT FOR SAFE VEHICLE OPERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO RICART NISSAN DEALER, (4255 S HAMILTON RD, # 190, GROVEPORT, OH 43125, (614) 836-6506) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT PART OF A RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. NO ADDITIONAL ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 95,400.
DRIVING ON STREET AND HOOD FLEW UP BLOCKING ALL VISABILITY. LUCKILY NO TRAFFIC WAS NEARBY AND I WAS ABLE TO PULL ON SHOULDER OF ROAD. I WAS ABLE TO PUT HOOD DOWN AND SECURED IT WITH DUCT TAPE. THE TOP OF THE PANELS ON BOTH SIDES ARE NOW BENT FROM THE HOOD COMING ALL THE WAY UP AND THEY ARE CHIPPING PAINT AS WELL.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND ALL OF A SUDDEN MY HOOD FLEW UP ONTO MY WINDSHIELD. IT WAS VERY FRIGHTENING... I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW THIS CAN HAPPEN WHEN THE HOOD IS LATCHED SHUT.
THE HEADLIGHTS ON THIS VEHICLE HAVE BEEN REPLACED TWICE. I HAVE HAD THE NISSAN DEALER CHECK THESE HEADLIGHTS AND THEY SAY THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THEM. THE HEADLIGHTS ARE A SEVERE SAFETY HAZARD FOR NIGHT DRIVING. I HAVE TO USE MY BRIGHTS TO BE ABLE TO SEE AT NIGHT. MY GRANDDAUGHTER BORROWED MY CAR AND SHE THOUGHT THE HEADLIGHTS WERE OFF. THESE HEADLIGHTS NEED A SAFETY RECALL BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED.
AFTER ABOUT 20 MINUTES OR SO OF THE CAR RUNNING IT STARTS TO DO THIS THING WHERE IS DOES NOT ACCELERATE FOR A COUPLE SECONDS WHILE PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL. IT THEN STARTS TO ACCELERATE WITH A DELAY. WHEN IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC IT IS EXTREMELY SCARY.
5 YEARS OLD AND HAD TO REPLACE COMPLETE SUBFRAME, NISSAN WOULD NOT COVER DUE TO LIVING BY THE OCEAN , OTHER 2 ALTIMA'S FROM 08 HAVE NO ISSUES . REPAIR COST WAS $3000 . FIGURED OUT ISSUE WHEN RIGHT FRONT BOTTOMED OUT AND A-ARM SITTING ON THE GROUND.
LOW BEAM LIGHTS ARE EXTREMELY FAINT WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT OR BAD WEATHER IT'S EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO SEE EVERYONE ALWAYS ASKS IF I HAVE MY LIGHTS ON. I DON'T EVEN DRIVE AT NIGHT OR BAD WEATHER ANYMORE DUE TO THE LACK OF LIGHTING BEING PROJECTED FROM MY 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA IT'S TOO UNSAFE FOR MYSELF AND OTHERS IN MY CAR AND I HAVE 20/20 VISION SO IT'S NOT MY EYES!
HEADLIGHTS ARE VERY DIM. BULBS WERE CHANGED AND DON'T HELP. AFTER READING ONLINE THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE. THE ENTIRE ASSEMBLY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED FOR BOTH HEADLIGHTS. WE CAN ONLY DRIVE AT NIGHT WITH THE HIGH BEAMS ON! THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. THIS OCCURS ALL THE TIME AND HAS GOTTEN PROGRESSIVELY WORSE.
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE VERY DIM. (HIGH BEAM IS FINE.) LOW BEAMS ARE SO DIM YOU HAVE TO ALSO USE THE FOG/DRIVING LIGHTS TO SEE AT NIGHT, MY CAR HAS THEM, SOME MODELS DON,T. CHANGING THE BULBS DID NOT HELP AT ALL, OUTSIDE LENS IS CLEAR. USING HIGH BEAMS AT NIGHT IRRITATES AND IS DANGEROUS TO ON COMING DRIVERS. I DON'T LIKE DRIVING LIKE THAT AT ALL. LOW BEAMS SHOULD BE BRIGHT ENOUGH TO BE SEE, THEY ARE NOT.
THE HEADLIGHTS ON MY 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA HAVE CONTINUED TO GET DIM. I CAN BARELY SEE AT NIGHT, WHILE PARKED OR DRIVING. IT LOOKS LIKE MY LIGHTS ARE NOT ON AT ALL FROM THE DRIVER'S SEAT. MY BRIGHTS WORK FINE. I CHANGED BOTH BULBS TO LED AND THERE IS NO CHANGE. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. I AM GOING TO BUY NEW HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES FOR BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE.
MY VEHICLE HAS HAD AN OPEN RECALL SINCE MAY 2020. HOWEVER, THERE IS STILL "NO REMEDY YET AVAILABLE". DUE TO THIS OPEN RECALL I AM NOT ALLOWED TO RENT MY VEHICLE OUT, CAUSING ME TO LOSE MONEY EVERYDAY!
I WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AT THE SPEED OF 50 MPH AND MY HOOD FLEW OPEN. I HAD TO SLAM ON MY BRAKES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY AND TRY AND PULLOVER WITH NO VIEW OUT MY FRONT WINDSHIELD. Got the recall about the hood latch took it to Nissan and had it fixed. My hood latch isn't staying latched now it pops up as I'm driving. and at times the hood latch won't let you open it . Something is wrong with it or the Nissan dealership in Erie Pennsylvania don't know what they are doing.
