TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN MURANO. WHILE COMING TO A STOP AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS REPEATEDLY DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO DECELERATE AND CRASHED INTO A BRICK BUILDING. THE FRONT PASSENGER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE CHEST AND BOTH KNEES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A MECHANIC AND FOR SEVERE FRONT END DAMAGE. THE BUILDING WAS ALSO DAMAGED. PRIOR TO THE CRASH, THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE WINDOWS ALONG WITH ALL FOUR POWER DOOR LOCKS ACTIVATED INDEPENDENTLY WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED. THE VEHICLE WAS BEING REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 76,000.
DRIVING, HEARD LOUD POP AND DRIVER'S SEAT TILTED BACK. THE RIGHT REAR BRACKET BROKE ON THE SEAT FRAME THAT NISSAN INSTALLED TO REPLACE THE FIRST ONE THAT BROKE ON 01/30/2009 AT 62,853 MILES. NISSAN REFUSES TO DO THE REPAIR AT NO CHARGE AND SAID IT WILL COST $1,200. MY INITIAL COMPLAINT FOR THE FIRST INCIDENT (ODI NUMBER) IS: 10593351. *TR
APPROXIMATELY 2 WEEKS AGO DUE TO NO FAULT OF OUR OWN AS WE WERE DRIVING OUR AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON. WE TOOK OUR VEHICLE TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP IN OUR AREA. THEY TOLD US OUR AIR BAG CONTROL MONITOR WAS BAD AND OUR AIR BAGS WILL NOT DEPLOY IN AN ACCIDENT. UPON ORDERING THE PART WE WERE TOLD THE PART IS ON BACKORDER. THEY ALSO TOLD US THAT WE HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE THIS REPAIRED AT OUR OWN EXPENSE. THE SERVICE MANAGER PROCEEDED TO TELL MY WIFE AND I THAT THE PART IS ONLY WARRANTED FOR 3 YEARS WHEN THE CAR WAS NEW. NOW IT WAS OUR ISSUE SINCE WE BOUGHT THE CAR USED. *TR
DURING NORMAL USE THE DRIVER'S SEAT BROKE LOOSE FROM THE SEAT RAIL. I WAS VERY LUCKY THAT THIS OCCURRED WHEN I WENT TO GET INTO THE VEHICLE WHILE IN MY GARAGE AND NOT WHILE I WAS DRIVING OR DURING A CRASH. UPON INSPECTION THE TRIP STEEL HOLLOWED OUT PLATE CONNECTING THE SEAT TO THE RAIL BROKE. I AM A MECHANICAL ENGINEER AND THE DESIGN OF THIS PART WAS CLEARLY NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO SURVIVE A CRASH. INSTEAD OF BEING A SOLID PIECE OF THICK STEEL IT WAS HOLLOWED OUT AND THE THIN STRIPS LEFT TO ATTACH THE SEAT TO THE RAIL WERE NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO WITHSTAND NORMAL USE MUCH LESS THE FORCE CAUSED BY A CRASH. THE REDESIGNED REPLACEMENT PART WAS A MUCH STRONGER SOLID PIECE OF METAL.
DRIVERS SEAT FRAME BROKE CAUSING DRIVER TO SWERVE. FORTUNATELY NO TRAFFIC OTHER CARS OR PEDESTRIANS WERE IN THE IMMEDIATE VICINITY. *TR
THE HEAT DOES NOT COME ON, EVEN AFTER THE ENGINE TEMPERATURE HAS REACHED FULL OPERATIONAL TEMPERATURE. *TR
MY SUN VISORS, BOTH THE DRIVERS SIDE & PASSENGER SIDE, WILL NOT STAY UP. THE DEALER HAS REPLACE THE DRIVERS SIDE THREE TIMES NOW & THE PASSENGER SIDE 4 TIMES AND IT WORKS FOR AWHILE BUT THEN THEY FALL DOWN AGAIN. THE DRIVERS SIDE VISOR IS A REAL HAZARD AS YOU CAN IMAGINE! I BELIEVE THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THESE. I LOGGED ONTO A MURANO FORUM AND FOUND OUT IT IS HAPPENING A LOT WITH OTHER OWNERS AND ALMOST ALL OF THEM SAY IT IS NOT THE VISOR ITSELF BUT THE CLIPS THEY FIT INTO. I THINK THE DEALER SHOULD HAVE REALIZED HOW MANY TIMES THEY WERE REPLACING THEM AND INVESTIGATED IT FURTHER FOR A PERMANENT FIX. *TR
THE AIRBAG LIGHT STARTED TO FLASH AND WOULD KEEP FLASHING UNTIL YOU SHUT THE CAR OFF. WE TOOK THE MURANO TO OUR LOCAL MECHANIC. HE PUT IT ON HIS COMPUTER SYSTEM AND IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH "DIAGNOSTIC MODULE WAS FAULTY". IT WOULD COST $800 FOR JUST THE PART AND 2 1/2 HOURS OF LABOR FOR A TOTAL OF $1093. I CONTACTED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS IF THERE WERE ANY RECALLS FOR THIS PARTICULAR PROBLEM. THEY INFORMED ME THAT THERE WERE NONE AT THE TIME AND WE WOULD HAVE TO TAKE THE MURANO TO AN AUTHORIZED NISSAN DEALER FOR THE DIAGNOSIS. WE DID TAKE IT TO AN AUTHORIZED NISSAN DEALER AN HOUR AND HALF AWAY. AFTER A $73 CHARGE, THEY TOLD US THE EXACT SAME THING! I THEN CONTACTED NISSAN AGAIN AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY COULDN'T HELP US WITH THE COST OF THE REPAIR. I WOULD UNDERSTAND IF IT WAS SOMETHING THAT WE DIDN'T DO FOR MAINTENANCE, BUT IT WASN'T OUR FAULT THAT IT IS DEFECTIVE. I ASKED THEM IF THERE WAS GOING TO BE A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM AND THEY SAID NOT AT THIS TIME. THEY HAD ALSO INFORMED ME IF WE WOULD HAVE IT FIXED AND THERE WOULD BE A RECALL, THEY WOULD REIMBURSE US FOR THE COST OF REPLACEMENT. I ASKED THEM IF THEY COULD SEND ME A DOCUMENTATION SO I WOULD HAVE PROOF THAT THEY WOULD DO THAT BUT I HAVEN'T SEE ANYTHING FROM THEM. YOU WOULD THINK THAT NISSAN WOULD TRY TO RECALL PROACTIVELY BEFORE THERE IS A NEGATIVE BACK LASH ON THEIR COMPANY. IT SEEMS THAT CARMAKERS OVERALL ARE BECOMING MORE PROACTIVE IN THEIR RECALLS, PULLING VEHICLES BACK AND REPLACING PARTS TO ADDRESS CONSUMER'S SAFETY CONCERNS, EVEN THOUGH THEY MAY NOT BE OFFICIALLY REQUIRED TO DO SO. I WAS HOPING THAT MAYBE YOU COULD HELP US WITH OUR PROBLEM. IT'S JUST ALOT OF MONEY TO PAY FOR SOMETHING THAT THEY CAN'T GUARANTEE WON'T FIX THE PROBLEM. THE INTELLIGENT KEY SYSTEM AND THE KEY FOB DO NOT UNLOCK THE DOORS CONSISTENTLY. THEY DO NOT UNLOCK THE DRIVER OR FRONT PASSENGER DOORS AT ALL, AND FROM TIME TO TIME WILL UNLOCK THE REAR DOORS. WE HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING THIS FOR OVER A YEAR. *TR
ISSUE WITH THE SUN VISOR ON BOTH SIDES. THE PASSENGER SIDE HAS BEEN FALLING FOR THE PAST 6 MONTHS AND NOW THE DRIVER SIDE IS STARTING TO FALL. POOR WORKMANSHIP ON THE PART OF NISSAN AND IT SHOULD BE CORRECTED. *TR
THE DEALER IDENTIFIED THE TRANSFER CASE PART OF THE AWD TRANSMISSION IS LEAKING. MY MURANO IS ON IT'S 3RD TRANSMISSION (REPLACED AROUND 25K AND AGAIN AROUND 106K), AND THIS POSSIBLY WAS RELATED TO THE TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT. I REALIZE THIS IS NOT AN EMERGENCY/SAFETY ISSUE, BUT IT HAS BEEN RECOMMENDED THAT I REPORT THIS DEFECT HERE IN AN ATTEMPT TO FORCE NISSAN TO ISSUE A RECALL SINCE SO MANY MURANO OWNERS HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME EXPENSIVE FAILURES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TRAVELING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS FOUND THAT THE ALTERNATOR WIRES HAD FAILED AND THE BATTERY WAS UNABLE TO BE CHARGED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE MANUFACTURER'S RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 121,923.
CAR DEVELOPED LOAD RUMBLING IN THE FRONT END. PROGRESSIVELY GETTING LOUDER. CAR THEN BEGAN TO SURE AND OR LOOSE POWER AT RANDOM INTERVALS .. AS SO MANY OTHERS HAVE STATED CVT FAILING. LEARNED ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AFTER THE FACT. WAS AMAZED TO SEE HOW MANY PEOPLE HAD FILED COMPLAINTS WITHOUT ANY RESPONSE OR HELP FROM NISSAN. NO RECALL NO HELP GETTING CAR CREDIT, AS IT IS VALUELESS IN TRADE AT DEALER. FORTUNATE THAT MINE SEEMED TO LAST LONGER THAN MOST. COST 4 TO 6 THOUSAND TO FIX... MORE THAN CAR IS WORTH AT THIS POINT. LEFT WITH NO WAY GETTING RID OF IT OR GETTING NEW VEHICLE. CAR THAT I THOUGHT WOULD HAVE GOOD TRADE IN VALUE ABSOLUTELY NO ONE WANTS TO TOUCH. BEEN OFFERED 1000 MAX FOR IT AT SEVERAL DIFFERENT DEALERS. SHOCKED THAT A COMPANY SIZE OF NISSAN WOULD NOT WORK WITH THERE CUSTOMERS... AT LEAST OFFERING REASONABLE COMPENSATION FOR CURRENT VALUE OF VEHICLE. IM SURE NISSAN WILL NEVER BE CONSIDERED IN MY CAR BUYING DECISIONS AGAIN. PROBLEM HAS POTENTIAL TO BE DEADLY FOR EVERYONE IN VEHICLE AS THE CAR LOOSES POWER OR SURGES WITHOUT WARNING. I AM SURE THEY WILL BE SUED SHORTLY WHEN AN ENTIRE FAMILY LOOSES THERE LIFE BECAUSE NISSAN REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM. *TR
MY DRIVER SEAT BROKE RECENTLY. A SEARCH ONLINE DETERMINES THIS IS A RECURRING PROB FOR THIS VEHICLE. WHY HAS THIS ISSUE NOT BEEN A RECALL ITEM, OR WHY ISN'T NISSAN COVERING THIS DEFECT??? THE REPAIR IS APPROX $1,200!!! ? *TR
DRIVER SEAT BRACKET BROKEN WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE ON STRAIGHT AND LEVEL OPERATION. RESEARCHED PROBLEM AND FOUND A TON OF OTHER COMPLAINTS FROM VARIOUS OTHER OWNERS WITH SAME ISSUE. ISSUE IS THE REAR LEFT BRACKET ON DRIVERS SEAT. SEAT MOVES ALL OVER THE PLACE AT THE MOMENT AND IS EXTREMELY UNSAFE TO BE DRIVEN. THIS IS A MANUFACTURE DEFECT IN THIS SEAT. *TR
JUST SAT DOWN IN MY CAR YESTERDAY AND THE DRIVERS SEAT MADE A POPPING NOISE AND FELL OVER TO THE LEFT TOWARDS THE DOOR. I ONLY WAY 110LBS. I HAVE LOOKED UNDER THE SEAT AND THERE IS A METAL BRACKET THAT HOLDS THE SEAT UP THAT IS BROKEN. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED WITHOUT MANUAL FORCE AND IDLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 125,000.
MY 2005 NISSAN MURANO BEGAN EXHIBITING A STRONG BURNING OIL SMELL APPROXIMATELY AUGUST 2013 AND I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC. THEY SAID A SEAL IN THE FRONT TRANSFER CASE WAS BAD AND REPLACED IT FOR A TUNE OF $1800. IN AUG 2014 IT BEGAN DOING IT AGAIN AND MUCH STRONGER. THEY REPLACED THE SEAL AGAIN AT NO CHARGE TO ME BUT THEN I TOOK IT BACK 2 WEEKS LATER FOR THEM TO INSPECT THE REPAIR. THE TRANSFER CASE WAS CRACKED ALL ALONG BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO SEE IT BECAUSE OF THE AMOUNT OF OIL THAT HAD BEEN LEAKING ALL OVER THE UNDERSIDE OF THE CASE. I HAD TO HAVE THE TRANSFER CASE REPLACED IN SEPTEMBER TO A TUNE OF $3488+. I FOUND OUT THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING TO MURANOS FROM 2003 TO 2012 AND AM VERY UNHAPPY THAT NISSAN HAS NOT MADE THIS A RECALL ON THEIR CVT TRANSFER CASES. OBVIOUSLY THE MOLD OF THE CASE IS FLAWED WITH THIS HAPPENING TO SO MANY YEARS OF MURANO'S AND I AM NOT EVEN SURE THE NEW TRANSFER CASE I RECEIVED IS GOING TO BE ANY BETTER SINCE I FIND EVIDENCE THAT OWNERS OF AS LATE AS 2012 MURANO'S ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED BY NISSAN AND MADE RIGHT WITH THE MANY OWNER'S THAT HAVE HAD TO SPEND THOUSANDS TO REPLACE THEIR FAULTY TRANSFER CASES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AS THE BRAKE LIGHT AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND THEY STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,000.
WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STOP AT A LIGHT THE LEFT REAR CORNER OF THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT DROPPED ABOUT 3-4 INCHES. I WAS NOW LEANING BACK AND TO THE LEFT IN A VERY WEIRD POSITION. I HAD A HARD TIME REACHING THE PEDALS AS THE FRONT OF THE SEAT WAS NOW MUCH HIGHER THAN THE REAR SO MY LEGS WERE PULLED BACK FROM THE BRAKE AND GAS PEDALS. I COULD PULL MYSELF BACK UP AND "BALANCE" ON THE THREE OTHER SEAT MOUNTS THAT WERE STILL GOOD BUT I HAD TO PULL ON THE STEERING WHEEL TO DO SO AND THAT MADE IT DIFFICULT TO STEER. I PULLED OVER INTO A PARKING LOT A SOON AS I COULD. AFTER A FEW MINUTES OF INVESTIGATION I DISCOVERED I COULD AT LEAST HAVE A STABLE SEAT IF I LOWERED IT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. THE BROKEN SEAT MOUNT NOW RESTS ON THE FLOOR OF THE VEHICLE WHICH WORKS FOR ME AS I'M FAIRLY TALL AND CAN STILL OPERATE THE CAR. HOWEVER, ANYONE A BIT SHORTER THAN ME CANNOT DRIVE SAFELY AS THEY CANT ADJUST THE SEAT UP ANY LONGER. I'M GLAD I WAS DRIVING FAIRLY SLOW WHEN THIS HAPPENED AS IT WAS QUITE AN ABRUPT AND STARTLING CHANGE IN DRIVING POSITION AND SEEMS QUITE DANGEROUS IF DRIVING AT HIGHER SPEEDS OR IF SOMEONE HAS A DIFFERENT REACTION TO SUCH AN EVENT. *JS
THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR DOES NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK WITH KEY FAB. THE REAR LIFT GATE HAS THE SAME PROBLEM. THE DOOR HAS TO BE MANUALLY UNLOCKED AND LOCK. THE REAR LIFT GATE DOES NOT UNLOCK AND CAN NOT OPEN. *TR
DOOR ACTUATORS FAILED. DOOR LOCKS FAIL TO LOCK AND UN-LOCK. OCCURRED AT VARIOUS TIMES, USING ANY MEANS AVAILABLE TO LOCK AND UN-LOCK THE DOORS: THE KEY FOB, INTERIOR DRIVER SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE LOCKS BUTTON ON DOOR, AND MANUAL MANIPULATION OF THE INTERIOR DOOR LOCK(S). THE ISSUE IS EXPERIENCED WITH ALL 4 DOOR LOCKS AND REAR HATCH. HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO GET IN OR LOCK THE VEHICLE EXCEPT MANUAL USE OF KEY. UNFORTUNATELY THE REAR HATCH DOES NOT HAVE A MANUAL SYSTEM AND THEREFORE CAN'T BE LOCKED OR OPENED. SAFETY ISSUE! *TR
I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF 2005 MURANO. I NOTICED A PROBLEM WITH HYDROPLANING SOON AFTER PURCHASE, AND HAVE ALWAYS BEEN EXTREMELY CAREFUL AND ON GUARD WHEN DRIVING IN RAIN OR EVEN WHEN STREETS ARE WET. THIS WOULD HAPPEN WITH BRAND NEW TIRES AND TIRES THAT WERE SLIGHTLY WORN SO THE TIRES DON'T SEEM TO BE THE PROBLEM, UNLESS ITS THE TYPE OF TIRE BUT ITS NOT THE TREAD ON THE TIRE. THE CAR CAME WITH GOODYEAR EAGLE P235/65 R18 TIRES AND I HAVE REPLACED WITH SAME TIRES WHEN NISSAN SERVICE DEPARTMENT ADVISED OF TREAD WEAR. ON JULY 22, 2013 I WAS ON MY WAY HOME FROM GATLINBURG WITH DAUGHTER AND 2 YEAR OLD GRANDDAUGHTER IN CAR. WE WERE CAUGHT IN DOWNPOUR GOING THROUGH KNOXVILLE. I TRULY CANNOT BELIEVE WE ARE ALIVE. MY CAR WOULD CONTINUALLY LOSE TRACTION AND IT WOULD SLIDE TO ONE SIDE UNTIL IT WOULD GRAB TRACTION BEFORE GOING OFF THE ROAD OR WRECKING. SOMETHING IS TERRIBLY WRONG WITH THE MURANO IN REGARDS TO HYDROPLANING. I ALSO HAVE HAD THE PROBLEM WITH THE DRIVER'S SIDE VISOR COMING DOWN AND WILL NOT STAY UP SINCE A COUPLE YEARS AFTER I BOUGHT THE CAR. I LOVE EVERYTHING ELSE ABOUT MY MURANO AND DUE TO HYDROPLANING SAFETY ISSUE I WILL NOT BE PURCHASING ANOTHER ONE. PLEASE TAKE THIS ISSUE UP WITH NISSAN BEFORE PEOPLE ARE KILLED. I CANNOT AFFORD TO REPLACE MY MURANO AT THIS TIME SO IF THERE IS ANYTHING THAT CAN BE DONE PLEASE, PLEASE HELP ME TAKE CARE OF THIS ISSUE. THIS IS DEFINITELY A MANUFACTURER PROBLEM. THERE IS NO DOUBT PEOPLE HAVE BEEN KILLED BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM BUT WAS NOT PROVEN BECAUSE DIDN'T LIVE TO TELL WHAT HAPPENED. WHAT CAN I DO AT THIS POINT TO PREVENT BECOMING A STATISTIC AND MORE IMPORTANTLY ENSURE THE SAFETY OF MY PRECIOUS CARGO? I FEEL LUCKY TO BE ALIVE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 35 MPH WHEN THE DRIVER'S SEAT BECAME FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE WELD JOINTS IN THE LIFTER SEAT BRACKET WERE FRACTURED AND NEEDED REPLACING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE INCIDENT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,000. UPDATED 12/20/13*CN
MY VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE AS I PROCEEDED TO PULL AWAY FROM A CURBSIDE PARKING SPACE. I TURNED MY WHEEL TO THE FAR LEFT AS I PROCEEDED AWAY FROM THE CURB AND THAT IS WHEN I HEARD A POP SOUND, SAW WHITE SMOKE SPEWING FROM THE FRONT RIGHT SIDE OF THE VEHICLE, THEN I SAW THE FLAMES. FIVE DAYS PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT, I HAD FRONT BRAKE PADS AND RESURFACED ROTORS PLACED ON THE VEHICLE. WITHIN THE PAST 30 DAYS THE ONLY OTHER MAINTENANCE PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE WAS A STANDARD OIL CHANGE. *TR
DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT 45 MPH MAKING A TURN AND THE RIGHT VISOR FALLS DOWN CAUSING POOR VISIBILITY AND A DISTRACTION DURING DRIVING. THIS IS A KNOWN MALFUNCTION FOR MURANOS AND IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. *TR

UPON INSPECTION, IT WAS FOUND THAT THE BASE OF THE SEAT HAD FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE RECLINING DEVICE ROD HAD FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 199,250 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 200,017.
AT APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH STEERING WHEEL WOULD SHAKE AS AN OUT OF BALANCE CONDITION. I HAD THE TIRES RE-BALANCED AND COULD NOT RESOLVE THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKING. DID NOT DO ANY HIGHWAY DRIVING FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME. PRIOR TO GOING ON VACATION I HAD TIRES RE-BALANCED, DURING THE HIGHWAY DRIVING THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKING WAS AGAIN VISIBLE AND COULD ALSO BE FELT IN THE STEERING WHEEL. LOWER CONTROL ARM WAS REPLACED WITH NO RESOLVE OF THE SHAKING STEERING WHEEL. TIRE DEALER REPLACED TIRES AT A COST TO ME OF $400.00. BACK TO CAR DEALERSHIP, REPLACED TIRE ROD END THAT COULD BE THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM ON THE DRIVE HOME STEERING WHEEL SHAKING AT HIGHWAY SPEED OF 65 MPH. BACK TO DEALERSHIP WHO HAD TWO DIFFERENT MECHANICS TEST DRIVE THE CAR AND THEY SAID THAT THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE SHAKING, THEY MUST HAVE HELD ON TO THE STEERING WHEEL WITH A GORILLA GRIP. I HAVE A SHORT VIDEO OF THIS SHAKING STEERING WHEEL. WIFE AND I WENT TO TEST DRIVE A NEWER USED 2009 NISSAN MURANO WITH THE SAME APPROXIMATE MILEAGE, MY CAR NOW AT 88,000, SAME VISIBLE SHAKING IF NOT WORSE. SOLVED PROBLEM BY TRADING IN THE CAR. NOW MAYBE THE DEALERSHIP WILL FIX THE PROBLEM AT THEIR EXPENSE, NOT MINE. *JB
BATTERY HAD A DEAD CELL REMOVED BATTERY TO REPLACE BATTERY WAS OUT OF VEHICLE FOR APPROX. 5 MINUTES REPLACED THE BATTERY STARTED THE VEHICLE TO GET MILEAGE FROM ODOMETER, IDLED APPROX. 2 MIN WITH DRIVERS DOOR OPEN NO PASSENGERS IN VEHICLE. THE SIDE CURTAIN AIR BAGS DEPLOYED AS WELL AS THE SIDE SEAT AIRBAGS. *TR

MANUALLY UNLOCKING THE DOORS BY USING THE KEYHOLE ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE DRIVER DOOR DOES NOT SOLVE THE ABOVE PROBLEM. MANUALLY UNLOCKING THE DOORS BY USING THE DRIVER / PASSENGER SIDE UNLOCK BUTTON ON THE ARMREST DOES NOT SOLVE THE ABOVE PROBLEM. TRUNK DOOR CANNOT BE OPENED WITH ANY OF THE ABOVE MEANS DUE TO ABSENCE OF MANUAL LOCK/UNLOCK LEVER ON THE EXTERIOR OF THE DOOR. *JS

DRIVERS SEAT FRAME CROSS-MEMBER WELD BROKE ON THE LEFT REAR LOWER WELD. FEELS LIKE ON EVERY TURN THAT DRIVER CAN BE THROWN AND TILTED FORWARD RIGHT FROM THE SEAT CAUSING THE STEERING WHEEL TO REACT IN AN UNCONTROLLED ALBEIT MOMENTARY JOLT. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AS THIS IS THE CROSS MEMBER BETWEEN LEFT AND RIGHT. MANY COMPLAINTS ONLINE FOR HUNDREDS OF OWNERS WITH SAME EXACT ISSUE DOWN TO THE SAME SIDE AND SAME WELD. I HAVE HAD SPINAL FUSION SURGERY AND THIS WAS ENOUGH OF A JOLT TO CAUSE PAIN IN MY NECK. I PURCHASED MY MURANO IN JAN 2013, THE INCIDENT OCCURRED IN MARCH 2013. MY HUSBAND AND I WERE DRIVING LAST SUNDAY. I FILED A CLAIM AND THEY CALLED ME BACK TO INFORM ME THAT THEY WOULD BE UNABLE TO REPLACE THE SEAT FRAME BECAUSE THE CAR IS BEYOND FACTORY WARRANTY. THE DEALERSHIP QUOTED ME $1000 TO REPLACE THE BROKEN BAR. I BOUGHT THE MURANO WHEN I WAS 9 MONTHS PREGNANT, IN FACT, I HAD MY SON A WEEK AFTER BUYING THE VEHICLE. MY HUSBAND WANTED ME TO BE IN A BIGGER CAR, A SAFER CAR FOR ME AND MY NEWBORN. I'M UPSET THAT THE SEAT BROKE, IN MY MIND THERE ARE TWO THINGS IN A CAR THAT SHOULD NEVER BREAK: THE SEATS AND THE SEATBELTS, BUT I'M DISAPPOINTED THAT NISSAN IS NOT TAKING CARE OF THEIR CUSTOMERS AND FIXING THE PROBLEM. IN MARCH 2013, A NISSAN DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE FUEL SENSORS AND A RELATED AMPLIFIER BECAUSE THE "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" WENT ON AND THE DIAGNOSTIC CODES SPECIFIED A FUEL SENSOR PROBLEM (I PAID BETWEEN $1000-1500). ABOUT A YEAR LATER, THE FUEL SENSOR LIGHT WENT ON AGAIN, THE FUEL GAUGE INTERMITTENTLY SHOWS EMPTY EVEN WHEN THE TANK IS MORE THAN ONE-HALF FULL, AND THE "MILES TO EMPTY" GAUGE PERIODICALLY GOES TO ZERO AND THEN REBOUNDS TO THE SUBSTANTIAL NUMBER OF MILES LEFT. THE NISSAN DEALER STATES THAT THE DIAGNOSTIC CODE SHOWS A PROBLEM IN A "PAST CYCLE" AND THEY DO NOT HAVE AN ONBOARD DIAGNOSTIC TOOL.
