WHILE I WAS DRIVING, I HEARD A LOUD POP AND THE DRIVERS SEAT SHIFTED. THE LINK LIFTER FOR THE SEAT NO LONGER FUNCTIONS CORRECTLY. THE SEAT IS LOPSIDED UNLESS ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE FLOOR, AND WILL NOT RAISE UNIFORMLY ANY MORE. IF THE SEAT IS RAISED UP, IT LEANS INTO THE BACK RIGHT CORNER, NO LONGER LEVEL WITH THE FLOOR OF THE VEHICLE. INTERNET RESEARCH HAS SHOWN THAT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE, AND THERE HAS BEEN A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN RELEASED ON IT. *TR
PASSENGER DOOR DOES NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK FROM THE OUTSIDE. REAR HATCH DOOR DOES NOT UNLOCK AND WILL NOT OPEN. I CHECKED ONLINE AND THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT NISSAN MURANO LOCK ACTUATORS POSING PROBLEMS AND NOT WORKING. NISSAN DEALERSHIPS CHARGE APPROXIMATELY $500 TO FIX EACH ACTUATOR, WHICH SEEMS EXTREMELY UNFAIR CONSIDERING IT APPEARS TO BE SUCH A COMMON DEFECT. THIS IS NOT ONLY AN UNNECESSARY AND PREVENTABLE PROBLEM, BUT CAN BE AN EXTREMELY SAFETY HAZARD. *TR
WHILE EXITING MY CAR AS I WAS GOING TO STAND FROM MY SEAT I HEARD A 'SNAP' AND THE SEAT DROPPED DOWN A FRACTION IN THE REAR LEFT HAND SIDE. NOW MY SEAT IS VERY, VERY WOBBLY. THIS IS EVIDENTLY A VERY COMMON PROBLEM. *TR
IN MID JAN, 2013 I NOTICED THAT AFTER LOCKING WITH THE KEY FOB, THE FRONT DOOR REMAINED UNLOCKED, AND WOULD NOT LOCK FROM INSIDE THE CAR WITH EITHER THE INDIVIDUAL LOCK CONTROL OR THE WHOLE CAR LOCK CONTROL. THE ONLY WAY TO LOCK THE DOOR IS WITH YOUR KEY, FROM THE OUTSIDE. IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT YOU DO NOT HAVE THE ADDED SAFETY OF A LOCKED DRIVERS DOOR. ALL OTHER DOORS ARE OPERATING CORRECTLY AT THIS TIME. THE WEB SEEMS TO BE FILLED WITH OTHER PROBLEMS LIKE THIS AND I WONDER IF THEY REALIZE THE DANGER THEY FACE WHEN ALL DOORS ARE NOT LOCKED IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT. *TR
I STARTED HEARING A RATTLE WHEN UNDER ACCELERATION AND COULD NEVER FIND THE CULPRIT. IT STARTED JINGLING LIKE CHANGE IN SOMEONE POCKET SO I LOOKED AGAIN AND NOTICE A PIECE OF THE IDLER PULLEY BRACKET GOING IN CIRCLES AROUND THE ADJUSTMENT SCREW. I LOOKED UP ONLINE ONLY TO YET ANOTHER UNDER DESIGNED PART BY NISSAN. THIS PART FAILING CAN CAUSE SERIOUS DAMAGE AND EVEN WRECKS IF NOT FIXED IMMEDIATELY. *TR
THE LOCKS ON THE DOORS WILL SPORADICALLY LOCK OR UNLOCK AND I AM AFRAID MY CHILD MAY GET LOCKED IN THE CAR ONE DAY IF KEYS ARE LEFT IN PASSENGER SEAT WHEN WALKING AROUND VEHICLE TO GET CHILD. THIS POSES A SERIOUS THREAT TO CHILDREN OR ANYONE IN AN UNSURE ENVIRONMENT. *TR
NISSAN MURANO DOOR ACTUATORS HAVE FAILED ON 2 OF 4 DOORS, LEAVING ME UNABLE TO ENTER/EXIT MY VEHICLE WITH THE REMOTE. IN ADDITION, I CANNOT OPEN THE TRUNK OF THE VEHICLE UNLESS THE PASSENGER DOOR ACTUATOR IS WORKING, WHICH IT DOES NOT. THE INSIDE DOOR LOCKS DO NOT MOVE, SO I DO NOT KNOW IF MY CAR IS EVER LOCKED OR UNLOCKED, AGAIN, SAFETY CONCERN. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS, AS I KNOW OTHER OWNERS HAVE COMPLAINED AND NISSAN CONTINUES TO IGNORE THIS AS AN ISSUE!!! *TR
2005 NISSAN MURANO SL WITH ONLY 58,000 MILES ON IT HAS THE SEAT DEFECT WHERE IT IS STUCK AND WON'T MOVE FORWARD AND BACK. IT APPEARS THAT THE BRACKET SYSTEM ATTACHMENT TO THE FLOOR HAS BECOME BROKEN. THIS IS A DANGEROUS MANUFACTURE DEFECT THAT CAN CAUSE ACCIDENTS AND THE CAR TO BE UNABLE TO DRIVE. THE REPAIR FOR THIS IS QUOTED AT $1,500. NISSAN SHOULD RECALL THESE AND FIX THEM ON THEIR OWN COST, NOT THE CONSUMER. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE PARKED, THE FRONT DRIVER SEAT BRACKET FRACTURED AND THE SEAT ROCKED FROM SIDE TO SIDE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND STARTED FLASHING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE SEAT BRACKET AND ZONE SENSOR WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE SEAT WAS REPAIRED BUT NO FURTHER REPAIRS WERE COMPLETED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,952 .... NISSAN KNOWING THERE IS A SECURITY PROBLEM WITH THEIR LOCKING MECHANISM AND NOT RECALLING THEM FOR SAFETY CONCERN IS NEGLIGENT. IT'S AN OPEN DOOR TO A LAWSUIT IF SOMEONE WERE TO BE MURDERED DUE TO A DOOR THAT DIDN'T LOCK, ALTHOUGH THE DRIVER PUSHED THE LOCK BUTTON AND HEARD THE LOCKING NOISE. REMEMBER, IN THIS CASE THERE'S NO OBVIOUS INDICATION THE DOOR ISN'T LOCKED UNLESS SOMEONE WALKS UP AND OPENS IT FROM THE OUTSIDE. THE DRIVE "THINKS" THE DOOR IS LOCKED, WHEN IN REALITY IT'S AN "OPEN DOOR" FOR CARJACKING OR ROBBERY. THIS FAILURE IS AN INTERMITTENT OF OPERATION. SOMETIMES THE DOORS LOCK OK, OTHER TIMES THEY DON'T. IN ADDITION, SOMETIMES THE DOORS UNLOCK OK, OTHER TIMES THEY DON'T. 3. IN EMERGENCIES IT'S IMPORTANT TO BE ABLE TO UNLOCK DOORS QUICKLY. SINCE 99% OF THE TIME WE ALL USE THE BUTTON TO LOCK AND UNLOCK DOORS, USING THE MANUAL LOCKING LEVER IS UNFAMILIAR. AND THE MURANO'S DESIGN IS SUCH THAT IT'S NOT EASY TO COMPREHEND IF IT'S NOT YOUR CAR, FOR INSTANCE A RENTAL CAR. I CAN EASILY UNDERSTAND HOW SOME PEOPLE WOULD BE CONFUSED HOW UNLOCK A DOOR USING THE MANUAL LEVEL IN AN EMERGENCY WHEN THEY VIRTUALLY HAVE NO EXPERIENCE WITH IT. IN EMERGENCIES EVERY SECOND COUNTS. THE LOCKING/UNLOCKING SOLENOID MALFUNCTIONING IS CLEARLY A HIGH RISK IN EMERGENCY SCENARIOS. SOME PEOPLE WHO CANNOT AFFORD THE $1600 TO HAVE ALL THE SOLENOIDS REPLACED (AS QUOTED BY DEALERS) WILL FORGO GETTING THEM FIXED, PUTTING THEIR FAMILY MEMBERS AT RISK WITH THE ABOVE MISHAP EXAMPLES. THIS SHOULDN'T BE, NISSAN SHOULD RECALL THEM. IT'S ONLY A MATTER OF TIME TILL SOMEONE GETS ROBBED, HURT OR KILLED FROM A MALFUNCTIONING DOOR LOCK, DISABLING THE SECURITY WHICH THE DRIVER "THINKS" HE HAS WHEN HE LOCKS THE CAR. IT'S A LAWSUIT WAITING TO HAPPEN. *TR
SEAT IS LOOSE AND GOT STUCK WHEN TRYING TO AUTO MOVE BACK AND FORWARD AS PART OF THE STARTUP PROCESS. I'VE READ UP ON THE COMPLAINTS HERE AND ON THE NISSAN OWNERS FORUM AND THIS IS A KNOWN DEFECT. IF THE SEAT TACK AND BRACKET BREAKS FROM AN OBVIOUS MANUFACTURE DEFECT THIS CAN CAUSE A DEADLY CRASH. DOES IT TAKE A PERSON TO DIE BEFORE NISSAN WILL ISSUE A RECALL? WHILE DRIVING/TURNING/STOPPING/ENTERING/EXITING VEHICLE THE LEFT REAR SIDE OF THE DRIVERS SEAT DIPS DOWN DRASTICALLY. HAVE READ NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS THAT NHTSA AND NISSAN ARE AWARE THAT THESE SEATS ARE A PROBLEM, I THINK NISSAN SHOULD STEP UP AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE QUALITY OF THE PRODUCT AND FIX THESE SEATS BEFORE SOMEONE IS INJURED DUE TO THE DEFECT. THANKFUL I NOTICED MINE WHILE PARKED AND NOT MOVING WHEN THE SUDDEN MOVEMENT OF THE SEAT COULD CAUSE ME TO NOT HAVE CONTROL OVER THE VEHICLE. *TR
THE DRIVER SEAT START ROCKING , AND FOUND OUT THAT THE BAR/ BRACKET ON LIFTER LINK ASSEMBLY IS BROKEN. *TR
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE FRAME ON THE DRIVERS SEAT BROKE CAUSING THE SEAT TO FALL BACK AND TO THE LEFT. SCARED ME AND THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO WRECK BUT DIDN'T. THEN VERY DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER THE CAR TO GET HOME SINCE YOU ARE SITTING COCKED TO THE SIDE AND BACK. CALLED NISSAN AND LOOKED ONLINE AS TO RECALLS AND THERE ARE NONE BUT SEVERAL COMPLAINTS WERE THERE REGARDING THESE SEATS. THIS IS THE 2ND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED THE FIRST BEING EARLIER THIS YEAR. NISSAN SAID TO BRING IT AND PAY TO HAVE IT FIXED. WE HAD FRIEND WELD IT CHEAPER THAN THEM. IF THE SEAT IS FAULTY THEN THERE IS NO SENSE FIXING IT NUMEROUS TIMES AND THEY NEED TO REMAKE THIS PART SO IT DOES NOT KEEP BREAKING, THINK THEY SHOULD RECALL SINCE IT IS UNSAFE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER'S SEAT BRACKET BECAME FRACTURED, CAUSING IT TO MOVE FROM SIDE TO SIDE ABNORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO CONFIRMED THAT THE BRACKETS UNDER THE SEAT WERE FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 148,000.

THE SUN VISOR ON THIS CAR WILL NOT STAY IN PLACE IN THE "UP" POSITION AND CONTINUALLY BLOCKS MY VIEW OF THE ROAD. IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD. MY RESEARCH HAS SHOWN THAT NISSAN IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM BUT WILL NOT VOLUNTARILY FIX IT. INSTEAD, THEY ARE CHARGING $400 TO REPAIR THIS PROBLEM THAT ALMOST EVERY NISSAN MURANO HAS. *TR
AS I ENTERED THE CAR, AND TRANSFERRED MY WEIGHT TO THE SEAT THE LEFT REAR AREA OF THE SEAT DROPPED DOWN SUDDENLY. HAD THIS OCCURRED SUDDENLY DURING DRIVING, THE TENDENCY TO PULL ON THE STEERING WHEEL TO BALANCE AND REGAIN A NORMAL DRIVING POSITION COULD CREATE A CIRCUMSTANCE WHERE THE VEHICLE WOULD SWERVE. I WAS UNAWARE OF THIS DEFECT POTENTIAL IN THE VEHICLE, DESPITE HAVING OWNED IT SINCE NEW. ON LOOKING AT THE FAILURE POINT, AND REVIEWING THE DEFECT, THE SEAT FRAME (MANUFACTURERS WELD POINT) HAS FAILED AT PRECISELY THE SAME POINT THAT MANY USERS HAVE REPORTED ON VEHICLE FORUMS. THIS APPEARS TO BE A DEFECT ASSOCIATED WITH CYCLIC LOADING, DIFFERENTIALLY APPLIED ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE SEAT DUE TO THE ENTRY PROCESS. CLEARLY IT IS A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT. NHTSA SHOULD SERIOUSLY CONSIDER THIS FOR FURTHER REVIEW...AN INSPECTION CAMPAIGN, MODIFICATION OR RECALL MAY BE APPROPRIATE. *TR
DRIVERS SIDE SUN VISOR FALLS DOWN WHILE IN LOCKED POSITION AND WILL NO LONGER STAY IN THE UPRIGHT POSITION. FALLS DOWN WHILE DRIVING AND OBSTRUCTS VIEW ON DAILY BASIS SINCE. AFTER SEARCHING FIXES FOR THIS PROBLEM THIS IS A COMMON COMPLAINT AND NEEDS IMMEDIATE ACTION. *TR
DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS BEGAN TO FAIL IN OUR 2005 NISSAN MURANO. THEY STOPPED RESPONDING SUDDENLY AND WHEN WE THOUGHT THE CAR WAS LOCKED, IT WAS IN FACT OPENED, WHICH IS A SAFETY ISSUE. IT IS A VERY COMMON ISSUE AND USUALLY ALL ACTUATOR GO OUT AT THE SAME TIME. WE HAVE REPLACED DRIVER'S DOOR ACTUATOR (THAT COST US $400) AND NOW HAVE TO DEAL WITH OTHER 3. HOPEFULLY NISSAN WILL RECOGNIZE THIS AS A SERIOUS PROBLEM AND WILL ISSUE A RECALL. *TR
DRIVING TO WORK TODAY I WAS DOING 55MPH ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THE DRIVERS SEAT SUDDENLY FELL TO THE LEFT. HAD THE 3RD LANE NOT BEEN CLEAR THERE WOULD'VE BEEN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT DUE TO ME PULLING LEFT ON THE STEERING WHEEL AS I FELL BACK. I SEEN THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM WITH MURANOS. I GUESS IT'S GOING TO TAKE THE DEATH OF A FEW INNOCENT PEOPLE BEFORE THIS WILL BE RESOLVED. *TR
FRONT DRIVER SIDE SEAT ASSEMBLY BRACKET BROKE IN TWO PLACES (REAR LEFT BRACKET) CAUSING SEAT TO LEAN AND SWAY WHEN CORNERING OR BRAKING. EXTREMELY UNSAFE FOR ALL DRIVERS ON THE ROADWAY. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES WHILE THE CONTACT WAS IN TRAFFIC. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE MECHANIC WHERE A DIAGNOSTIC WAS PERFORMED, WHICH LOCATED THE FAILURE AT THE ALTERNATOR. THE FAILURE ALTERNATOR WAS REPLACED THREE TIMES BUT THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND ADVISED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 05V319000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 101,239 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 120,151.
HEARD A "POP" AND THEN FELT THE CAR SEAT ROCK. APPEARS THAT SOMETHING BROKE ON THE LEFT, REAR CORNER OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT. *TR
I WAS DRIVING MY 2005 MURANO AND THE LEFT SIDE OF THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT STARTING GOING DOWN AND WOULD NOT COME BACK UP. I STOPPED, LOOKED, AND CHECKED THE SEAT. THAT IS WHEN I NOTICED MY SEAT STARTED ROCKING BACK AND FORTH WHEN I PULLED ON THE TOP OF THE SEAT. I HAD IT CHECKED AND THE SEAT BRACKET IS BROKEN. I HAVE FOUND OUT THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH MURANOS DUE TO THE FAULTY BRACKET IN 2003-2007 NISSAN MURANOS. WHY HASN'T NISSAN RECALLED THESE BRACKETS? WHY DOES IT COST $1300 TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE SEAT WHEN IT IS JUST A DEFECTIVE BRACKET THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED? WHY DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS? HERE IS A FORUM OF PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. I WAS DRIVING IN MY CAR, AND THE SEAT BROKE AND LEANS BACK ONLY ON THE LEFT SIDE, CAUSING AN UNSAFE DRIVING POSITION. WHILE SEARCHING FOR A FIX, APPARENTLY THERE ARE MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS IN THE NISSAN MURANO FOR EXACTLY THE SAME REASON. I FEEL THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN AS MY FOOT WAS REMOVED FROM THE PEDALS AND I TEMPORARILY LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE UNTIL I REALIZED EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED. THE CURRENT ROCKING OF THE SEAT DURING ACCELERATION AND BRAKING CAUSES THE SEAT (AND BODY) TO SWAY, CHANGING THE PRESSURE INTENDED TO BE PLACED ON THE BRAKES AND GAS PEDAL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER'S SEAT WOULD ROCK FROM SIDE TO SIDE WHENEVER OCCUPIED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE WELDED PORTION OF THE SEAT BRACKET WAS FRACTURED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE DEALER OFFERED TO ASSIST THE CONTACT WITH TWO THIRDS OF THE MATERIALS COST AND THE OWNER WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REMAINDER, IN ADDITION TO THE LABOR EXPENSES. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 61,834.
BRACKETS UNDER DRIVERS SIDE SEAT HAD SNAPPED, SEAT IS NO LONGER ATTACHED PROPERLY. MAJOR SAFETY ISSUES. APPARENTLY A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE MODEL YEARS 2003-2007 THAT WAS LATER CORRECTED, YET NISSAN WILL NOT PRODUCE A RECALL OR COVER THE COSTS UNLESS IN YOUR WARRANTY PERIOD. THE NEW PART, IS MADE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT AND IS STEEL, SO OBVIOUSLY THEY KNOW THERE IS AN ISSUE BUT ARE CHOOSING TO DO NOTHING ABOUT IT. DEALER WANTS TO CHARGE OVER $1000 FOR THIS REPAIR. AGAIN A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE & IN DOING RESEARCH IS HAPPENING TO PEOPLE ALL OVER THE WORLD. SOMETHING SHOULD BE DONE. I CONTACTED NISSAN FOR A GOOD WILL REPAIR BUT IT IS UNDER INVESTIGATION, IN THE MEANTIME, I DRIVE AROUND RISKING MY LIFE. BECAUSE OF THE SAFETY CONCERN, NO ONE ELSE SEEMS TO WANT TO FIX IT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS COMMON. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND ALSO OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 104,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 105,894.

MY CAR JUST STOPPED WORKING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TRAFFIC AND WOULD NOT GO FORWARD OR BACKWARD. I GOT IT TOWED TO GOOD YEAR - MY CAR HAD CATASTROPHIC TRANSMISSION FAILURE. WAS DIAGNOSED AT GOODYEAR AND THEY CALLED NISSAN TO SEE ABOUT THE PARTS AND FOUND OUT THAT IT WAS COVERED BY MANUFACTURE WARRANTY - SO I HAD IT TOWED ON A FLAT BED TRUCK TO NISSAN IN DENVER. GOODYEAR HAD DRAINED THE FLUIDS TO TAKE IT APART DURING DIAGNOSIS AND SENT THE PARTS AND THE CAR ON THE TOW TRUCK TO THE GO NISSAN SHOP. THEY FOUND A NUMBER OF OTHER PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR AT THE NISSAN SHOP WHICH THEY SAID WERE NOT COVERED - SUCH AS- CAM SHAFT SENSORS,DRIVE BELTS,HEAD GASKET. I AGREED TO PAY FOR THOSE ITEMS AND TO GET MY TRANSMISSION REPLACED FOR FREE UNDER THE WARRANTY. THEY SAID IT WOULD TAKE THREE TO FIVE DAYS TO GET THE TRANSMISSION FROM THE FACTORY. I GET A CALL TODAY FROM GO NISSAN ON JUNE 19TH ABOUT A WEEK AFTER THEY AGREED TO FIX IT AND THEY NOW SAY THAT THERE SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN SOME PURPLE FLUID IN THE TRANSMISSION AND NOW THEY WONT REPLACE IT OR COVER IT IN ANY WAY. THAT MAKES NO SENSE TO ME BECAUSE IT WAS DELIVERED THERE WITH NO FLUID IN THE TRANSMISSION AT ALL. THEY SAID, YA, WELL.. WE SAW SOME PURPLE SUBSTANCE IN THE CUP WITH THE PARTS THAT WERE DELIVERED AND WE WILL NOT COVER IT BECAUSE OF THAT CONTAMINATION... IM AT MY WITTS END HERE, THEY WANT $4000.00 FOR THE TRANSMISSION AND ANOTHER $2,500.00 FOR THE REST OF THE WORK. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. I FEEL LIKE THEY TOOK ADVANTAGE OF ME AND ARE NOW TRYING TO GET OUT OF THE WARRANTY. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP. *JS
FIRST THE PASSENGER SIDE ELECTRIC DOOR LOCKS WERE FAILING TO LOCK OR UNLOCK, WITHIN WEEKS BOTH REAR LOCKS STARTED FAILING! THIS IS A VERY MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN FOR MY WIFE AND DAUGHTER. PLUS IN THE DRIVE THE OTHER NIGHT IT DIDN'T LOCK AND SOMEONE GOT IN AND VANDALIZED THE INTERIOR AND TOOK PERSONAL ITEMS. *TR

THE CONTACT PLACED A STACK OF BRICKS TO KEEP THE SEAT STEADY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. IN ADDITION, THE POWER STEERING LINE DETACHED AND LEAKED FLUID. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING LINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE TECHNICIAN CLAMPED THE POWER STEERING LINE; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR IS MALFUNCTIONING. *TR
WE HAVE A 2005 NISSAN MURANO THAT HAS HAD THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS FAIL REPEATEDLY SINCE WE'VE OWNED THE CAR. WHEN THE LOCKS FAIL, THE DOORS AND REAR HATCH CAN NOT BE OPENED OR LOCKED WITH EITHER THE REMOTE FOB OR THE ELECTRIC CONTROLS ON THE DOORS. THEY NEED TO BE OPENED MANUALLY BY RELEASING THE LOCKING LEVER BY HAND. OFTEN WHEN THEY FAIL THE REAR HATCH CAN NOT BE OPENED BECAUSE THERE IS NOT A MANUAL RELEASE THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THIS STYLE OF DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR. NISSAN IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE AND HAS DEEMED THE REPAIR OUT OF WARRANTY EVEN THOUGH THIS PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED WHILE UNDER WARRANTY AND EVER SINCE. THE INDIVIDUAL ACTUATOR FOR EACH DOOR APPROACHES $500 IN COST. THEY'VE ADVISED TO NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM, BUY A NEW VEHICLE WHICH IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. THERE ARE NUMEROUS INSTANCES OF INTERNET COMPLAINTS ON THIS ISSUE. GENERAL MOTORS IGNORED THEIR PROBLEMS FOR YEARS AND NISSAN IS EFFECTIVELY IGNORING THIS PROBLEM. THE DESIGN OF THE LOCK ACTUATOR ITSELF IS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED WITH A BETTER DESIGNED COMPONENT. *TR

I SPENT SOME TIME TODAY SEARCHING ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND THIS IS A QUITE COMMON PROBLEM. I EVEN FOUND A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN FROM NISSAN ON HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM. IF IT'S A KNOWN ISSUE THAT THE BRACKET WILL EVENTUALLY FAIL UNDER FATIGUE WHY ISN'T THERE A RECALL OR A SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT? *TR

THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THE DRIVER'S SEAT BRACKET HAS BROKEN. THE FIRST TIME, WE SHAMED THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALER TO FIX IT, BUT THIS WAS ONLY TEMPORARY AS THE SEAT HAS JUST BROKEN AGAIN. WE CONTACTED NISSAN BUT THEY SAID WE ARE ON OUR OWN. AIR BAG LIGHT IS SUPPOSEDLY LINKED TO THIS ISSUE AS WELL. ALSO CONTACTED NISSAN ABOUT THIS AND ESCALATED ALL THE WAY TO NORTH AMERICAN HQ TO NO AVAIL. IT APPEARS THAT NISSAN WOULD RATHER TAKE THEIR CHANCES ON LAW SUITS THAN HAVE THEIR CUSTOMERS SAFELY DRIVE THEIR PRODUCTS. AFTER PURCHASING AT LEAST 10 NISSAN PRODUCTS OVER THE PAST 30 YEARS I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER. FOREVER IS A LONG TIME. *TR
FOR A COUPLES OF DAYS I STARTED HEARING THE DRIVER SEAT NOISE, WHILE I WAS DRIVING OR AT REST IN A REDLIGHT. THEN ONE DAY WHILE DRIVING MY SEAT SUDDENLY FELT TO THE LEFT SIDE. IT DID NOT WHEN ALL TO THE CAR FLOOR OR OVER THE DOOR BUT I DID NOT HAVE ANY STABILITY OF MY BODY FOR THAT SIDE. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURE WAS ALSO CONTACTED AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER FOR FURTHER INSPECTION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 63,000.

IF THEY RAN A CAR FAX I WOULD HAVE KNOW. IT WASN'T UNTIL RECENTLY WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO SELL THE CAR AND WAS INFORMED THROUGH CAR FAX THAT IT WAS IN 5 ACCIDENTS.
