UPON DRIVING THE VEHICLE THE SEAT STARTED TO SLIDE TOWARD THE PASSENGER SIDE. UPON BRING IT TO A MECHANIC I WAS TOLD THAT THE PLASTIC WHEEL IN THE CHAIR MECH WAS WORN OUT AND NEED TO BE REPLACED. CALLED NISSAN AND THERE ANSWER TO ME WAS FIRST IF I WAS OVER WEIGHT AND CLAIM THAT IS WHY IT BROKE. WRONG ANSWER I AM NOT OVER WEIGHT TO CAUSE THAT AND THEN I WAS TOLD THAT I HAD TO BUY THE WHOLE NEW SEAT AND A TRACK THAT COST IS 800 FOR THE PART AND AT THAT POINT I TOLD THEM ALL I NEED IS A PLASTIC WHEEL...COMPANY TOLD ME IF I HAD AN EXTENDED WARRANTY IT WOULD BE FIX. WELL I DON'T HAVE ONE AND TRULY DON'T FEEL LIKE I WOULD OF NEED ONE FOR THE AGE AND MILEAGE OF THIS VEHICLE/ IT APPEARS THAT THERE HAS BEEN ALOT OF TROUBLES WITH THE 2005 MODEL AND THEY KNEW IT AND FELT THAT IF PEOPLE HAVE A WARRANTY TO FIX THINGS THEY WILL BE FIXED AND THERE IS NO PAPER TRAIL OF THERE POOR MANUFACTURING OF THE VEHICLE. AS OF TODAY THERE NOW TELLING ME THAT MY OIL PAN AND THE ALOT OF THE PARTS OF THE UNDERCARRIAGE OF THE VEHICLE IS ROTTED AND NEED TO BE REPLACED. I HAVE NEVER HAD A ROTTED OIL PAN, NOR HAS ANY OF MY UNDERCARRIAGE OF THE VEHICLE ROTTED, IT APPEARS THAT THERE PARTS ARE NOT HAVING A PROTECTION COAT OF RUSTOLUM ON THEM AND YET ONCE AGAIN THERE ANSWER IS IF I HAVE A WARRANTY IT WOULD BE COVERED. *TR
THE DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR ON MY 2005 NISSAN MURANO WILL NOT STAY IN THE "UP" POSITION. IT CAN ROTATE TO VERTICAL AT ANY TIME, BLOCKING THE DRIVER'S VISION AND DISTRACTING THE DRIVER'S ATTENTION. REPLACEMENT VISORS ARE $300 AND UP. NISSAN IS IN COMPLETE DENIAL THAT THIS CHRONIC PROBLEM EXISTS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT NOTICED ONE OF THE TWO FUEL TANK PROTECTORS PARTIALLY DETACHED FROM THE FRAME. THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED IN 2006 FOR A RECALL RELATED TO THE SIMILAR DEFECT UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 06V003000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE: STORAGE: TANK ASSEMBLY). THE REMEDY REPAIR DID NOT CORRECT THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED REGARDING THE MOST RECENT FAILURE AND THEY ADVISED HIM TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000. UPDATED 10/31/11 *BF UPDATED 11/07/11
TRAVELING ON A CURVE AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH WHEN APPROACHING THE EXIT/CURVE, HEARD NOISE ON FRONT RIGHT HAND SIDE. RELEASED FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR AND WHEN I TRIED TO STEER I COULD NOT MANEUVER IT AS I WANTED. I HIT THE CONCRETE DIVIDER ON THE ROAD, ROLLED OVER AND ENDED UP ON THE OTHER LANE ON THE DIVIDER ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE CAR WAS A TOTAL LOSS BUT I SURVIVED. I BELIEVE SOMETHING POPPED RELATED TO THE STEERING OF THE CAR. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. *TT
2005 NISSAN MURANO DRIVERS SEAT FRAME SNAPPED IN TWO WHILE DRIVING. IF SEATED IN DRIVERS POSITION,THE REAR LEFT OF THE FRAME IS THE SECTION THAT SNAPPED. VEHICLE HAS ALMOST 60,000 MILES ON IT. *TR
THE DRIVERS SEAT LIFTER LINK ASSEMBLY ON MY 2005 NISSAN MURANO BROKE. THIS APPEARS TO BE A FACTORY DESGIN FLAW THAT IS COMMON IN MANY MURANOS. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND NHTSA SHOULD CONSIDER ORDERING NISSAN TO FIX THE PROBLEM ON THESE VEHICLES THRU A RECALL. IT APPEARS WITHOUT GOVERNMENT INTERVENTION, NISSAN IS NOT MOTIVATED TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT THE DESIGN AND IS FORCING BUYERS TO COVER THE COST OF THE REPAIRS AND INTRODUCES A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN. *KB
DRIVER SIDE DOOR ACTUATOR FAILED AND REPAIR PARTS ORDERED 8/10/11. IT HAD FAILED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS AND COMPLETELY IN AUGUST, 2011, AND IT BECOMES A SAFETY ISSUE AS IT PREVENTS ACCESS FROM THE DRIVERS SIDE. ACCESS HAS TO BE MADE FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE OR FROM THE REAR DOOR. IT COSTS $431 TO REPAIR. *TR
2 TPMS SENSORS FAILED AND COST $285 TO REPLACE. BATTERIES FAILED IN EACH SENSOR REQUIRING A FULL REPLACEMENT OF EACH UNIT. TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT WOULD COME ON AFTER 10 MILES, LEADING THE DRIVER TO BELIEVE THAT THERE WAS A PRESSURE PROBLEM WHEN THERE REALLY WAS NOT AN ISSUE, WHICH COULD CREATE A SAFETY CONCERN. *TR
MY 2005 NISSAN MURANO WITH 68K MILES ONLY PURCHASED FROM DEALER LESS THAN 2 YEARS AND HAS EXTENDED WARRANTY HAS A BROKEN DRIVER'S SEAT. WHILE DRIVING, MY LEFT SIDES OF THE SEAT COLLAPSED AND NOW ROCKS BACK AND FOURTH WHILE DRIVING, TURNING, AND STOPPING. I IMMEDIATELY WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO ADVISE AND WAS TOLD THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM, BUT IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY AND IS VERY COSTLY TO REPAIR. I AM EXTREMELY UPSET AS WAS DRIVING WITH MY 2 YEAR OLD SON AT THE TIME THE CHAIR COLLASPED. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WHY IS THERE NO RECALL FROM NISSAN? *TT
I PROCEEDED TO DRIVE FROM A TRAFFIC LIGHT, WHEN MY DRIVER'S SEAT COLLAPSED ON THE LEFT SIDE. I IMMEDIATELY WENT TO MY SELLING DEALERSHIP TO INQUIRE SINCE MY VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE AT THAT POINT. THE DEALERSHIP CONFIRMED THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE NISSAN MURANOS, HOWEVER NO RECALL AND COSTLY TO REPAIR. ON MONDAY 8/8/11, I CONTACT NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS TO INQUIRE OF THIS ISSUE AND RECEIVED THE WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. I HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO SCHEDULE A DIAGNOSTIC TEST WHICH COSTS 70 DOLLARS FOR NISSAN CORPORATE TO REVIEW THE REPORT BEFORE ASSISTING FURTHER. IS NISSAN WAITING FOR DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY BEFORE HELPING THEIR CUSTOMERS? *TR
2005 NISSAN MURANO. CONSUMER STATES SAFETY PROBLEMS WITH VEHICLE DOOR LOCKS *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT DOOR LOCK WORKED INTERMITTENTLY. WHEN THE LOCK SYSTEM WAS ACTIVATED ELECTRONICALLY, THE DOORS TYPICALLY FAILED TO COMPLETELY LOCK OR UNLOCK COMPLETELY. THE INSIDE LOCK BUTTON ONLY MOVED HALF WAY. *JB
WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY WITH 65 SPEED MPH AND THE SUNVISORS JUST DROP RIGHT ON MY HEAD AND CAUSE ME JUMP AND ALMOST LOSS CONTROL OF MY CAR. BUT LUCKILY THERE WAS NO OTHER CAR AT THAT TIME. THIS SHOULD BE SAFETY RECALL FOR NISSAN. *TR
THE FRONT PASSENGER LOCK WOULD NOT OPEN USING THE KEY FOB OR THE INTERIOR LOCK BUTTONS. THE REAR HATCH WILL NOT OPEN UNLESS THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR IS UNLOCK. RECENTLY ( SPRING OF 2013, 129K MILES), THE DRIVER AND REAR PASSENGER SIDE LOCKS WOULD NOT OPERATE UNLESS MANUALLY UNLOCKED, AT FIRST INTERMITTENTLY AND ULTIMATELY STOPPED WORKING COMPLETELY. *TR

SITTING IN SEAT CONSTANT PROBLEM, CAUSED VEERING OFF RD. SEAT ROCKS IF ACCIDENT THE SEAT WILL BREAK CAUSING POSSIBLE DEATH. *KB
GOING 40 MPH, SUDDENLY I HEARD A CRACK NOISE, AND DRIVERS SEAT BECAME UNSTABLE, WIGGLY. BEFORE PULLING OVER I NEEDED TO MAKE A TURN, AND THAT WAS DANGEROUS- ENTIRE LEFT SIDE OF THE SEAT ELEVATED DURING A TURN. AS IT WAS EXPLAINED LATER BY NISSAN DEALERSHIP MY CAR EXPERIENCED DRIVERS SEAT FRAME ASSEMBLY FAILURE. WHICH IS NOT CONSIDERED A SAFETY ISSUE?!?! I WOULD LIKE TO SEE SOMEONE SAFELY DRIVE MY CAR, ESPECIALLY DOING U TURNS!! THE SEAT CANNOT BE FIXED IN THE DESIRED POSITION, IT MOVES AROUND LIKE I AM OPERATING MY CAR ON A KITCHEN STOOL.
INTERNAL MOUNTING BRACKET SUPPORTING THE DRIVERS SEAT HAS BROKEN WHILE ROUNDING A CORNER CAUSING MY HANDS TO SLIP OF THE STEERING WHEEL AND CAR DID STRIKE THE CURB. THE SEAT NOW WILL FLOP FROM SIDE TO SIDE. THE CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. I CAN'T AFFORD THE $700+ REPAIR, THAT WILL FAIL AGAIN IN THE SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS. IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM ON THESE MODEL CARS. NISSAN HAS SENT OUT A TSA FOR THIS REPAIR. BUT THE PROBLEM IS CONIC AND EXPENSIVE. NO AFTER MARKED PARTS AVAILABLE. NISSAN PARTS ONLY AND THE REPLACEMENTS ARE FAILING ALSO. *TR
ALL DOOR LOCKS DO NOT FUNCTION WITH THE FOB OR THE INTERNAL DOOR LOCK BUTTON. MUST MANUALLY LOCK/UNLOCK ALL DOORS. CONDITION WORSENS IN WARM WEATHER.THIS IS A SERIOS SAFETY HAZARD - I HAVE TWO SMALL CHILDREN AND IN AN EMERGENCY I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO GET THEM INTO OR OUT OF THE VEHICLE QUICKLY. NISSAN WON'T EVEN ESCALATE MY CONCERN UNTIL I PAY TO HAVE ONE OF THEIR DEALERSHIPS LOOK AT IT, BUT I KNOW FROM READING OTHER POSTS THAT ONCE I DO THEY WILL STILL REFUSE TO FIX IT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ALL FOUR DOOR LOCKS COULD NOT BE LOCKED OR UNLOCKED FROM THE INTERIOR OR EXTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE. THE REMOTE CONTROL KEY LOCK WAS ALSO INOPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO ADVISED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED WHO ALSO ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THE VEHICLE AND OFFERED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 106,000. UPDATED 11/01/12*LJ THE DEALER HAD NO RECORD OF PRIOR SERVICE. ALSO, THE OIL COOLER AND CV BOOT WERE LEAKING AND THE AIR BAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED. UPDATED 11/02/12
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN MURANO. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH THE CONTACT DROVE OVER A SPEED BUMP AND THE DRIVERS SEAT SLIGHTLY ROCKED BACK AND FORTH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE TECHNICIANS STATED THERE WAS A BROKEN WELD IN THE LOWER FRONT DRIVERS SIDE SEAT FRAME THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 76,100. RK
COOLANT WAS LEAKING ON DRIVEWAY, FOUND THAT THE TENSIONER BRACKET IS CRACKED AND IS RUBBING UP AGAINST A COOLANT HOSE, CAUSING A BREACH IN HOSE AND LEAKAGE. THE DEALERSHIP IS QUOTING ME OVER $500 TO REPLACE THE TENSIONER BRACKET AND ASSOCIATED PULLEY AND "SCREW". I CALLED NISSAN CORPORATE ASKING THEM TO EITHER FIX FOR FREE OR DISCOUNT THE SERVICE. THEY SAID ITS NOT THEIR RESPONSIBILITY. I SEE ALOT OF THIS EXACT COMPONENT FAILURE REPORTED ONLINE, I HOPE NISSAN PONIES UP SOMEDAY. *TT

UPON SITTING NORMALLY IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT OF MY 2005 NISSAN MURANO THE REAR RIGHT HAND SIDE OF THE SEAT FRAME SHEARED SUDDENLY. THIS RESULTED IN THE SEAT NOW SHIFTING LEFT AND RIGHT WHILE DRIVING AS WELL AS LEANING SEVERELY WHEN TAKING A LEFT HAND TURN. CONTACTED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND FILED COMPLAINT, AWAITING RESPONSE. COST OF REPAIR AT DEALERSHIP QUOTED @ $150 FOR REPLACEMENT PART AND $350 FOR LABOR + TAX. DEALERSHIP CHARGED ME $70 FOR DAIGNOSIS THOUGH I COULD HAVE POINTED AT THE BREAK MYSELF. *TR
WHILE TURNING RIGHT WHILE DRIVING MY 2005 NISSAN MURANO I HEARD AND FELT A LOUD POP UNDERNEATH MY SEAT. UPON INVESTIGATING I DISCOVERED THAT THE BACK LEFT SIDE OF MY SEAT HAD BROKEN LOOSE FROM THE BRACKET. THE LEFT BACK OF THE SEAT REMAINS DISENGAGED FROM THE SEAT FRAME. I WENT TO THE NISSAN DEALER TODAY WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR AND WAS QUOTED $898.08 FOR A NEW SEAT FRAME (PART # 87450+A) AND AN ADDITIONAL $153-204 LABOR FOR INSTALLATION. AFTER RESEARCHING ONLINE, I HAVE DISCOVERED THAT THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH THE MURANO AND THAT NISSAN NOW USES A NEWLY DESIGNED PART TO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING. THE FACT THAT MY SEAT IS NOT FULLY ATTACHED IN MY CAR IS VERY CONCERNING AND CERTAINLY IS A SAFETY ISSUE. I AM A BIT SURPRISED BY THE FACT THAT THE NISSAN SERVICE DEPARTMENT I WENT TO APPEARED TO NEVER HAVE HEARD OF OR SEEN THIS ISSUE AND YET WHEN I WENT TO THE PARTS DEPARTMENT, THE REPRESENTATIVE TOLD ME THAT HE HAD QUOTED FOR THE PART 4 TIMES RECENTLY. THE POWER LOCKS DO NOT WORK ALL THE TIME WHEN USING THE FOB OR THE SWITCH INSIDE THE DOOR. THE DOORS AND LIFT GATE DO NOT ALWAYS LOCK OR UNLOCK. MY WIFE HAS BEEN LOCKED OUT OF THE CAR IN THE MEIJERS PARKING LOT WITH OUR TWO SMALL CHILDREN UNABLE TO GET IN CAR. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AND I FIND IT UNACCEPTABLE. I AM CONCERNED THAT IF THERE WAS AN ACCIDENT, FIRE, SEVERE WEATHER THAT MY FAMILY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO GET IN OR OUT (DEPENDING ON THE SITUATION) OF THE CAR IN A TIMELY MANNER CAUSING INJURY OR DEATH. DOING SOME RESEARCH I HAVE FOUND THAT THERE ARE MANY OTHER NISSAN MURANO AND OTHER NISSAN VEHICLE OWNERS THAT HAVE BEEN HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. IT ALL APPEARS THAT NISSAN ISSUED A RECALL FOR THE FRONTIER PICKUP FOR THIS SAME ISSUE. WE NOW HAVE TO LEAVE THE VEHICLE UNLOCKED AT ALL TIMES SO WE CAN GET IN AND OUT WITHOUT INCIDENT. THE DOOR LOCKS ON MY VEHICLE WILL NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK WITH THE KEYLESS REMOTE AND THE PASSENGERS FRONT DOOR LOCK WILL NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK UNLESS MANUALLY LOCKED AND ALSO THE BACKSEAT BEHIND THE PASSENGER THAT DOOR WILL NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK WITH THE KEYLESS REMOTE THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD FOR MY YOUNG CHILDREN RIDING IN MY CAR. THE MANUFACTURER OF THE THESE VEHICLES SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST TO CORRECT THESE PROBLEMS APPARENTLY THIS HAS BEEN AN ON GOING ISSUE WITH THESE DOOR LOCKS AS TO WHAT I HAVE SEEN WITH THE COMPLAINTS POSTED. WHAT IS IT GOING TO TAKE TO GET THESE LOCKS FIXED BEFORE YOUNG CHILDREN GET KILLED. *TR
MY 2005 NISSAN MURANO LOCKS TO ALL FOUR DOORS, TRUNK AND GAS TANK MALFUNCTION FREQUENTLY. I HAVE BEEN STRANDED WITH NO GAS BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO UNLOCK THE GAS TANK FOR A PERIOD OF TIME. THERE IS NO "KEY" OPENING FOR THE GAS TANK, HATCH IN THE BACK OR 3 PASSENGER DOORS-ONLY THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR. I HAVE ALREADY HAD THE ACTUATORS REPLACED ONCE ON BOTH SIDES OF THE CAR A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO AND NOW THEY ARE BROKEN AGAIN. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN BECAUSE WE CAN NOT BE SURE THE DOORS ARE LOCKED, CAN NOT OBTAIN GAS, CAN NOT ACCESS THE TRUNK AREA, OR UNLOCK PASSENGER DOORS ON FREQUENT BASIS. SOMETIMES, THEY WORK AND SOMETIMES THEY DON'T. THE COST TO REPLACE THE ACTUATORS IS AROUND $1600. THAT IS A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF MONEY TO BURDEN THE OWNER OF THE VEHICLE WHEN CLEARLY THERE IS A DEFECT IN THE CAR. THERE ARE SO MANY MURANO OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. NISSAN NEEDS TO RECALL AND REPLACE THE ACTUATORS FOR THE LIFETIME OF THE CAR. THIS IS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUE! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE PARKING THE VEHICLE, THE VEHICLE EXHIBITED A POPPING SOUND AND THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER SEAT WAS FRACTURED. THE CONTACT BELIEVED THE VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE BECAUSE THE SEAT WOULD MOVE AND WAS NOT STABLE. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND THEY STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS AND WERE UNABLE TO ASSIST. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WERE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET REGARDING THE FAILURE FOR HIS PARTICULAR MAKE AND MODEL VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,000.
ORIGINAL OWNER, PURCHASED NEW IN 2005. THE DRIVER SIDE VISOR WILL NOT STAY IN UP POSITION AND MUST BE HELD IN PLACE BY OTHER MEANS .(I AM CURRENTLY USING A BUNGEE CORD THAT IS ATTACHED TO THE VISOR CLIP AND RAN ACROSS TO THE DRIVERS SIDE ROOF HANDLE ABOVE WINDOW TO HOLD THE VISOR UP SO THAT I HAVE ADEQUATE VISIBILITY THROUGH THE FRONT WINDSHIELD). WHEN ATTEMPTING TO REPOSITION THE VISOR IN THE UP AND LOCK POSITION I HEARD A POPPING SOUND. AFTER THAT, THE VISOR HAS FAILED TO STAY LOCKED IN THE UP AND FLAT POSITION, KEEPING IT FLUSH AGAINST THE INTERIOR ROOF. IF NOT USING ANOTHER MEANS TO KEEP THE VISOR UP, IT WILL REMAIN IN THE DOWN POSITION AND BLOCKS DRIVERS VIEW. DOES NOT HAVE THE FLEXIBILITY TO REMAIN AT AN ANGLE TO BLOCK SUN, ONLY HANGS STRAIGHT DOWN. *TR
I WAS DRIVING MY 2005 NISSAN MURANO SE. I WAS GOING AROUND A RIGHT CURVE AND THE LEFT SIDE OF MY DRIVER'S SEAT BROKE, AND I WAS PITCHED BACK. I ALMOST WENT OFF THE ROAD. I WAS ABLE TO STOP THE CAR SAFELY AND CHECKED THE SEAT. THE LEFT BACK BRACKET IS BROKEN AND THE SEAT NOW LEANS TO THE LEFTAND BACK. I AM IN THE PROCESS OF GETTING REPAIR DONE. *TR
DOOR LOCKS NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. WILL NOT LOCK/UNLOCK FROM FOB OR INTERIOR SWITCH ON THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN BECAUSE IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO UNLOCK THE DOORS TO EXIT THE VEHICLE OR IT MAY PREVENT EMERGENCY MEDICAL PERSONNEL TO EASILY GAIN ACCESS TO THE VEHICLE. IT IS ALSO A CONCERN BECAUSE IT CAN POTENTIALLY LEAVE THE VEHICLE VULNERABLE TO POTENTIAL THEFT OF ITEMS IN THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE SINCE THEY DON'T RELIABLY LOCK. *JS
IT SEEMS THAT I HAVE ALL OF THE WELL KNOWN PROBLEMS WITH THE NISSAN MURANO. I GOT THE AIR BAG LIGHT THAT WON'T TURN OFF WHICH TO ME IS A MAJOR SAFETY AND VERY DANGEROUS ISSUE. I HEARD THAT IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT THE AIR BAGS AND SEAT BELTS WON'T WORK. NISSAN NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM ASAP BEFORE SOMEONE OR MULTIPLE PEOPLE LOSE THEIR LIFE BECAUSE OF THEIR LACK OF RESPONSIBILITY. ANOTHER PROBLEM I HAVE IS NONE OF DOOR ACTUATORS WORK INCLUDING THE REAR HATCH DOOR EXCEPT FOR THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR THAT DOOR IS THE ONLY DOOR THAT UNLOCKS AND LOCKS WHICH I ALSO THINK IT'S ANOTHER SAFETY ISSUE. I ALSO HAVE THE BAD POWER STEERING RACK WHICH I MENTIONED A LOT IS A SAFETY ISSUE. MY MURANO SL AWD 2005 JUST STOPPED IN TRAFFIC AND ALSO WHILE IT WAS IDLING. IT WAS MOVING AND WHEN I GOT TO TRAFFIC, IT STALLED AND WOULDN'T BUDGE EVEN THOUGHT THE LIGHTS WERE STILL ON. THE DRIVER SIDE VISOR FELL DOWN ONE DAY AND WILL NO LONGER STAY IN UP POSITION. IT MUST BE LEFT DOWN FLUSH AGAINST THE WINDOW WHICH OBSTRUCTS THE DRIVERS VIEW OF THE ROADWAY. THE VISOR REPAIR IS COVERED BY MY WARRANTY BUT MY DEDUCTIBLE IS $200 AND TO FIX THE VISOR WITHOUT THE WARRANTY IS OVER $300. FROM WHAT I HAVE READ, THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE AND A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE FOR DRIVERS. PEOPLE WHO HAVE GOTTEN THEM REPLACED CONTINUE TO HAVE THIS ISSUE AND THE VISOR SHOULD BE RECALLED AND REPLACED WITH ONE THAT WORKS IN EVERY OTHER CAR. I PURCHASED A PRE-OWNED MURANO WITH THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. A FEW MONTHS AGO I HAD THE OIL CHANGED AND WAS NOTIFIED THE TRANSFER CASE WAS LEAKING. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP TO BE FIXED. THE LEAKS WERE FIXED, A FEW DAYS LATER THERE WAS AN INTENSE BURNING SMELL. I BROUGHT THE CAR BACK IN TO THE NISSAN DEALER AND THEY FIXED IT AGAIN. I WAS TOLD THERE WERE SOME MORE LEAKS FOUND. NOW AFTER DRIVING THE CAR IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME THE CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE PROPERLY. THERE IS A 4 SECOND DELAY THEN THE CAR LURCHES FORWARD. WHEN I TURN THE CAR OFF FOR A WHILE AND TURN IT BACK ON THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO GO AWAY. I BROUGHT IT AGAIN TO THE NISSAN DEALER AND THEY WILL DO NOTHING BECAUSE THEY CANNOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD THE WARRANTY WILL NOT PAY FOR PARTS UNLESS THE PROBLEM CAN BE DUPLICATED AT THE DEALER. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETLY ISSUE AND I AM NO LONGER COMFORTABLE DRIVING THIS CAR. *TT

WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE STREET, I HEARD A "SNAP" AND THEN MY SEAT TIPPED BACKWARDS AND TO THE LEFT. WHILE DRIVING HOME, EVERY SPEED BUMP I WENT OVER MADE THE SEAT BOUNCE AS IT IS NOT HELD DOWN. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND TOLD THE MAN WHO ANSWERED THE PHONE THAT THE SEAT IN MY CAR BROKE AS I WAS DRIVING. HE ASKED ME, "MURANO?" I SAID, "YES." HE SAID, "2004 OR 2005?" I SAID, "2005." HE SAID, "THAT WILL COST $1,300 TO FIX. I KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME ON THE PARTICULAR CAR." I FEEL LIKE THAT HAVING YOUR SEAT BREAK AS YOU ARE DRIVING DOWN THE STREET IS QUITE HAZARDOUS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSFER CASE WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED.
