TRANSMITION WILL NOT SHIFT GEARS. ACCORDING TO NISSAN DEALER VEHICLE NEEDS TRANSIMITION REPLACED. NISSAN CORP. WILL NOT ADMIT PROBLEM. THEY CLAIM IT IS MY RESPONSIBILITY TO REPLACE TRANSMITION AT MY EXPENSE.
DRIVERS SEAT FRAME HAS BROKE DURING OPERATION MULTIPLE TIMES AFTER REPAIR. MOST RECENTLY ON A BUSY CITY INTERSTATE. TOTAL COST OF REPAIRS HAS BEEN $360. NOT ONLY HAS THIS BEEN A SAFETY ISSUE WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, BUT A FINANCIAL BURDEN AS WELL AS COMFORT ISSUE WHEN DRIVING. NISSAN AND NHTSA ARE AWARE OF THE DEFECT YET FAIL TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM OR ISSUE A RECALL.

MY MURANO DRIVERS SIDE SEAT BROKE OFF THE LOWER LEFT METAL PART, THE SEAT NOW IS NOT WELDED TOGETHER PROPERLY AND ITS NOW UNATTACHED AND MOVES AROUND AS I DRIVE. I HAVE READ ABOUT OTHERS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. I HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS HAPPEN TO OTHER VEHICLES ONLY NISSAN. THEY REALLY NEED TO TAKE CARE OF THIS ISSUE SINCE IS VERY EXPENSIVE TO BE FIXED! I JUST HAPPEN TO GET IN THE VEHICLE AND OUT OF NO WHERE WHEN I SAT DOWN I JUST FELT THE SEAT CRACK AND LOWER TO ONE SIDE. I AM 140LBS. NOT VERY BIG AND PETITE, SO THIS IS HARD TO UNDERSTAND WHY IT WOULD BREAK LIKE THIS.
FRONT DRIVER SIDE SEAT ADJUSTER FRAME BROKE WHILE DRIVING. SEAT WAS WOBBLING LIKE A ROLLER COASTER RIDE FROM RIGHT TO LEFT. CONTACTED NISSIAN CUSTOMER SERVICE AND NOTHING THEY CAN TO ABOUT IT. CONTACTED NISSAN OF BURLINGAME, CA AND THE SEAT ADJUSTER FRAME PART RUNS $1450.00-$1600.00 PLUS INSTALLATION. SUCH A DANGEROUS ACCIDENT PRONE DEFECT SHOULD BE ON A RECALL LIST. NISSAN ALSO SAID THEY COULD NOT HELP OUT FINANCIALLY ON ANY REPAIR WORK/INSTALLATION FEE'S TO REPLACE DEFECTIVE SEAT FRAME. THEY WERE CURT AND ABRUPT. I MENTIONED I HAD READ ON CAR REPAIR COMPLAINT SITES THAT MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM AND WAS TOLD THEY DON'T READ CAR REPAIR SITES.........
WHEN VEHICAL IS IN MOTION THE SENSOR LIGHT FOR SEAT BEATS CONTINUE TO FLASH ALL THE TIME AND THERE IS THE SENSOR LIGHT FOR TIRES FLASHES AND STAYS ON NEVER GOING OFF. BOTH LITTLE LIGHT ON DASH BOARD. MY CAR IS PEELING ITS CLEAR COATING ON THE TOP OF TRUNK OPENING BYTHE 3RD LIGHT.
SEAT SUDDENLY DROPPED TO THE DRIVERS SIDE IN THE VEHICLE AGAINST THE DOOR. THIS SUDDEN CHANGE IN POSITION CAUSED ME TO SWERVE THE VEHICLE NEARLY MISSING THE CAR NEXT TO ME IN THE OTHER LANE. IF THIS SEAT WAS TO FAIL COMPLETELY I COULD HAVE BEEN THROWN BACKWARDS IN THE VEHICLE LOSING THE ABILITY TO PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL TO STOP THE VEHICLE AND THIS WOULD HAVE RESULTED IN A CRASH OF THE VEHICLE. THIS VEHICLE IS USED BY A 160 POUND WOMAN AND EVEN THOUGH HAS SOME AGE HAS ONLY 43,000 ORIGINAL MILES ON THE ODOMETER. IT IS USED STRICTLY FOR PLEASURE DRIVING ON THE WEEKENDS. THIS FAILURE OCCURRED WHILE TRAVELLING ON A HIGHWAY AT HIGHWAY SPEED AND ROUNDING A CORNER. UPON REVIEWING THE MANY MANY THINGS THAT HAVE BEEN WRITTEN UP ON THE INTERNET ABOUT HOW PERVASIVE THIS PROBLEM IS THERE IS NO REASON THAT A POOR DESIGN ON THE SEAT LIFTING FRAME HAS RESULTED IN A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE OF THIS PART AND NISSAN HAS NOW REDESIGNED THE PART TO REINFORCE THE SEAT FRAME PART OT MAKE IT MORE STURDY. THIS REDESIGN MEANS TO ME THAT THEY RECOGNIZE THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE ORIGINAL DESIGN AND THEY SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FO RTHE REPAIR NOT TELL CONSUMERS THEY NEED TO PAY TO HAVE IT REPAIRED AT A COST OF BETWEEN $1,000 AND $2,500. THAT IS RIDICULOUS.
DRIVER SIDE SEAT FRAME OR BRACKET BROKEN RESULTING IN LOOSE SEAT THAT OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING AND ALMOST RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT. THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT FRAME OR BRACKET ON THE LEFT SIDE REAR PART OF THE FRAME BROKE RESULTING IN THE SEAT DROPPING ABOUT 3 INCHES DOWN ON THE BACK LEFT SIDE.
A BRACKET UNDER THE DRIVER SEAT LEFT REAR SIDE SNAPPED. IT OCCURED IN THE PROCESS OF PULLING OFF TO DRIVE.
WHILE DRIVING MY CHILDREN TO SCHOOL IN THE MORNING, I WAS DRIVING APPROX. 45 MPH WHEN SUDDENLY I LOST ALL ACCELERATION. I HAD TO TRY AND ROLL TO A SAFE PLACE AS I WAS IN HEAVY TRAFFIC AND PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK. I TURNED THE KEY OFF AND WAITED A FEW MINUTES AND RE-STARTED THE VEHICLE AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE A FEW MILES BEFORE IT HAPPENED AGAIN AND LOST ALL ACCELERATION WHILE PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL. AGAIN, I ROLLED SOMEWHERE SAFE TO PARK AND TURNED THE IGNITION OFF AGAIN, HOWEVER I WAS UNABLE TO START THE VEHICLE AND ALL LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED ON THE DASH PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS FOUND THAT THE ALTERNATOR WIRES HAD FAILED AND THE BATTERY WAS UNABLE TO BE CHARGED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN MURANO. WHILE DRIVING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY AT ABOUT 5 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED WHEN THE AIR CONDITIONER WAS TURNED OFF AND TOTALLY LOST POWER WHEN THE AIR CONDITIONER WAS TURNED BACK ON. THE CONTACT TURNED THE AIR CONDITIONER OFF AND DROVE HOME. THE VEHICLE DID NOT RESTART AND WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE ALTERNATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
THE LEFT SIDE OF THE DRIVER SEAT FRAME HAS DETACHED FROM THE CAR FLOOR MOUNT AS OF APPROXIMATELY FOUR MONTHS AGO; SINCE THEN, THE SEVERITY OF THE DETACHMENT HAS INCREASED AND THE SEAT MOVES UP AND DOWN. I HAVE BEEN ADVISED BY A LOCAL MECHANIC AND NISSAN THAT WELDING THE SEAT FRAME TO THE FLOOR FRAME WILL ONLY TEMPORARILY FIX THE ISSUE. NISSAN STATES A NEW FRAME IS REQUIRED ($1,200 + LABOR). NOT HAVING MY SEAT CORRECTLY ATTACHED TO THE CAR PRESENTS A SAFETY HAZARD IN THE EVENT OF AN AUTO ACCIDENT. THE FRAME HAS DETACHED BASED ON NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR; THERE WAS NO ABNORMAL USE, IN FACT THE CAR ONLY HAS 110,409 MILES. NISSAN STATES THIS IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY OR RECALL. I DO NOT FEEL I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY ($1,200 + LABOR) TO REMEDY GIVEN THE POTENTIAL SAFETY HAZARD (IF AN ACCIDENT OCCURS).
MY NISSAN MURANO SEAT BELT AIR BAG LIGHT FLASHES CONSTANTLY WHEN I SNAP MY SEAT BELT THIS IS WHILE THE VEHICAL IS IN MOTION. WHILE AT NISSAN DEALERSHIP FOR OIL CHANGE I WAS TOLD BY TECHNICIAN THAT THERE IS NO HORN SOUND ON THE VEHICAL.WHEN I TAPPED THE HORN IT DOES NOT WORK AT ALL WHEN THE CAR IS NOT IS IN MOTION OR STATIONARY.
WHILE DRIVING THE DRIVER SEAT DROPPED DOWN. UPON CHECKING WITH A MECHANIC HE STATED THAT THE SUPPORT SYSTEM BROKE. THIS CAUSED THE SEAT TO DROP ON ONE SIDE. FROM HIS INSPECTION IT APPEARS THAT THE METAL USED WAS NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO SUPPORT NORMAL USE. I WAS NOT AWARE OF ANY PROBLEM WITH THE SEAT UNTIL IT SUDDENLY BROKE. FROM WHAT I HAVE READ THIS APPARENTLY IS A PROBLEM WITH THE 2006 MURANO SL AND NISSAN SHOULD HAVE WARNED OWNERS OF THIS POSSIBLE PROBLEM.
FRONT DRIVER SIDE SEAT IS BROKEN. IT LEANS TO THE LEFT . THIS IS SO DANGEROUS . SUCH A SAFETY HAZARD. AND NISSAN CORPORATE WAS NO HELP. TOLD ME I HAD TO PAY FOR A DIAGNOSE TEST. AND HAVE THEM SEND IT IN AND THEY WOULD LOOK AT IT. AND WOULD GET BACK TO ME.. NOT A HAPPY PERSON.
I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORKING ONE EVENING IN MY 2006 NISSAN MURANO AT 60 MPH. DURING THAT DRIVE I HEARD A NOISE AND THAT'S WHEN HALF OF THE SEAT FELL DOWN TOWARDS THE LEFT SIDE. I DROVE HOME ROCKING FROM SIDE TO SIDE WHICH MADE MY DRIVE HOME A LITTLE PAINFUL WHEN I HIT A BUMP.
MY 2006 NISSAN MURANO SEAT FRAME IS BROKEN. I CALLED NISSAN AND THEY TOLD ME THEIR IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH 2006 NISSAN MURANO. 1000'S OF COMPLAINTS AND NO RECALL YET. THIS IS VERY SAD WHEN A COMPANY CAN'T STAND BEHIND A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT. GOD FORBID SOMEONE GETS INTO AN ACCIDENT. FIRST THING THAT WILL HAPPEN IS ME OR SOMEONE WITH SAME PROBLEM FLYING OUT THE WINDOW BC OF A DEFECTIVE SEAT FRAME. I'VE PURCHASED ABOUT 5 NISSANS IN MY LIFE TIME. NEVER AGAIN WILL I PURCHASE FROM NISSAN. A DEFECT SEAT SHOULD BE A RECALL.
THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG LIGHT JUST APPEARED ON ONE DAY. VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN IN ANY TYPE OF MAJOR ACCIDENT. HAD CONCERN AND HAD IT CHECKED OUT FOR SOME UNREAL AMOUNT TO REPAIR OF WHICH I CAN'T AFFORD TO HAVE REPAIRED. MY CONCERN IS WITH THE RECALL ON THESE AIRBAGS ON THE NISSAN, I'M REALLY CONCERNED THAT ONE DAY IT WILL JUST INFLATE AND CAUSE INJURY TO ME WHILE DRIVING. IS THERE A RECALL ON AIR BAGS ON THIS VEHICLE I SAW ON THE NEWS TODAY (7/12/17) THERE IS A RECALL ON ADDITIONAL NISSAN VEHICLES. AM I ABLE TO TAKE VEHICLE IN AND HAVE THIS REPAIRED AT NO CHARGE? PLEASE ADVISE ASAP.

WHAT I'M EXPERIENCING, I LOSE ACCELERATION POWER WHEN THE CAR IS IN DRIVE. TTHE CAR STALLS AND WILL NOT MOVE FORWARD WHEN I PRESS THE ACCELERATOR DOWN TO THE FLOOR, YET THE ENGINE AND ELECTRICAL MAINTAIN ITS POWER. WHEN THE CAR STALLS, I PRESS THE PEDDLE SERVAL TIMES AND THE RPMS DOESN'T ACCELERATE UP EXPECT WHEN I PLACE THE CAR IN PARK. WHEN I PLACE THE CAR IN PARK THE ACCELERATION POWER RESUMES, BUT ONCE IN DRIVE THERE'S NO POWER AGAIN. I EXPERIENCE THE PROBLEM THE MOST WHEN MY AIR CONDITION OR HEATER IS RUNNING. WHEN I TURN OFF THE AIR CONDITIONER THE ACCELERATION POWER RESUMES, BUT SPOTTERS. STRANGE!!!
DRIVERS WINDOW STOPPED WORKING ,WILL NOT GO UP AND DOWN. I HAD A REPAIR SHOP LOOK AT IT THEY STATED THE SWITCH WAS FRIED AS WELL AS THE MOTOR. IT WAS SMOKING AND COULD HAVE CAUSED A FIRE. HAVE YOU EVER HAD A COMPLAINT LIKE MINE? #2 THE DISPLAY SCREEN IS STUCK ON TIRE ROTATION,AND MY NAVIGATION SYSTEM IS NOT WORKING.FUEL GAUGE IS ERRATIC. CAN'T HAVE IT REPAIRED DUE TO COSTS.

IT ALSO TAKES A LOT OF STRENGTH TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL LEFT, EX: WHEN BACKING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY INTO THE STREET, OR WHEN TURNING LEFT INTO A DRIVEWAY OR A PARKING SPACE. IT FEELS LIKE THERE IS NO POWER STEERING. SLIGHT LEFT TURNS ARE NORMAL AS ARE ALL RIGHT TURNS. VEHICLE IS GOING INTO DEALER TUESDAY WHICH IS THEIR FIRST OPENING. I WILL UPDATE THIS ONCE IT IS DETERMINED WHAT IS CAUSING THE PROBLEM /PROBLEMS.

SEAT BROKE, WHY IS THIS THERE NO RECALL ON A SEAT BREAKING? IT'S THE DRIVER SEAT! HOW WOULD YOU LIKE YOUR SEAT IN YOU CAR JUST TO DROP TO ONE SIDE FOR NO REASON? NISSAN SHOULD NOT SKIMP ON SOMETHING THAT YOU SIT IN WHILE DRIVING!
DRIVER'S SEAT ROCKS BACK AND FORTH AS IF IT'S OFF THE TRACK. VERY DANGEROUS!
I BOUGHT THE CAR USED IN 2010 AND BY 2011 THE SEAT HAD LOCKED IN POSITION AND BROUGHT IT IN TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP TO GET IT REPAIRED SINCE I BOUGHT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. I WAS TOLD THAT THE PROBLEM WAS NOT COVERED IN THE WARRANTY BUT THEY WOULD FIX IT FOR $1300 AND I CHOSE AT THAT TIME NOT TO GET IT FIXED, NOT KNOWING THAT THERE WAS A DEFECT IN THE SEAT FRAME DESIGN BY NISSAN. UPON RESEARCH LATER, I FOUND OUT THAT YEAR MODEL AND MAKE HAD A DEFECTIVE SEAT FRAME AND IT WOULD EVENTUALLY BREAK ON ONE SIDE. SOMETIME IN 2013 IT SURE ENOUGH BROKE AND WHEN I WENT TO RENEW MY INSPECTION STICKER LAST WEEK I WAS TOLD THAT I WAS REJECTED BECAUSE OF THE SEAT MOVEMENT. I CALLED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND ASKED IF THEY COULD HELP ME OUT IN ANY WAY TO HELP FIX THE SEAT FRAME (WHICH IS NOW ESTIMATED AT OVER $1500 TO FIX) BECAUSE IT IS THEIR FAULTY DESIGN, AND WAS DENIED ANY ASSISTANCE WHAT SO EVER. SO NOW I HAVE A BROKEN SEAT AND AN OUT OF DATE INSPECTION STICKER AND NISSAN WILL NOT OFFER ME ANY ASSISTANCE FOR THE COST OF REPAIR AND DENIES ANY KNOWLEDGE OF ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE SEAT FRAME FOR THAT YEAR MODEL. THE MAN AT THE INSPECTION STICKER PLACE TOLD ME IT IS AN UNSAFE DRIVING CONDITION DRIVING LIKE IT IS WHICH IS WHY HE WOULD NOT GIVE ME THE INSPECTION STICKER BECAUSE WHEN HE APPLIES THE BREAKS, THE LEFT SIDE OF THE SEAT SLIDES FORWARD. HOW CAN A AUTOMOBILE DEALERSHIP AS BIG AS NISSAN DENY THIS AND NOT OFFER ANY HELP TO FIX THE PROBLEM IS BEYOND ME. I WANT TO TELL THIS TO ALL NISSAN OWNERS AND I WOULD NOT OWN ANOTHER NISSAN IF I GOT ONE FOR FREE. I DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY TO GET THE SEAT FRAME REPAIRED AND I USE THE VEHICLE EVERY DAY TO GO TO AND FROM WORK, I AM NOT SURE WHAT OTHER OPTIONS I HAVE OTHER THATN TO DRIVE UNSAFE AND WITH AN OUT OF DATE STICKER. *TR
DRIVER SEAT BROKE DURING DRIVING ON HIGHWAY COMING AROUND A CURVE. THE MOVEMENT WAS QUICK, HAD TO HOLD ONTO STEERING WHEEL TO MAINTAIN CONTROL. TOOK NEXT EXIT OFF TO GATHER WHAT JUST HAPPEN. THAT'S WHEN I ROCK THE SEAT AND KNEW IT WAS BROKEN. I WAS DRIVING BACK FROM OUT OF TOWN AND HAD OVER 140 MILES TO MAKE IT HOME. I HAD TO DRIVE WITH CAUTION, BECAUSE I WASN'T FOR SURE IF THE BACK WOULD FALL BACK INTO THE REAR SEAT. MY PASSENGER GOOGLE FOR INFORMATION ON YOUTUBE AND FOUND THIS HAD HAPPENED BEFORE WITH OTHER MURANO. THE MANUFACTURER HAS NOT ISSUED ANY RECALL ON A DEFECTS WITH THEIR SEATS. NISSAN HAS NOT INFORMED ME ON ANY RECALL WITH THIS VEHICLE. SOME TYPE OF ASSISTANCE WITH THIS MAJOR EQUIPMENT NEED TO BE ADDRESS QUICKLY. DRIVING WITH A SEAT FALLING FROM YOU CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURIES TO THE INDIVIDUAL AND OTHERS. SAFETY OF CUSTOMERS SHOULD BE A MAJOR PRIORITY. NISSAN MANUFACTURER NEED TO STEP UP AN OWN RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR DEFECT. I OWN OTHER NISSAN VEHICLE AND HAVE FAMILY MEMBERS THAT OWN NISSAN VEHICLE, WE OR DISAPPOINTED WITH HOW NISSAN IS HANDLING THEIR CUSTOMER. *TR
WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE DRIVERS SIDE SEAT BROKE THE BASE OF THE SEAT, THEY REFUSE TO REPLACE THEIR DEFECTIVE SEATS. I CAN PURCHASE A SEAT FOR 1800.00 PLUS THE COST OF INSTALLATION. NISSAN HAS REDESIGNED THE SEATS TO MAKE THEM STRONGER.
SEAT HAS BROKEN LOOSE ON LEFT SIDE AND ROCKS SIDE TO SIDE. I HAVE CONTACTED BOTH THE DEALER AND NISSAN CORPORATE AND BEEN TOLD THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANT AN THEREFORE THEY WOULD DO NOTHING.
DRIVERS SIDE AIRBAG HAS BEEN REPAIRED THREE TIMES ACCORDING TO NISSAN TECH SPECS AND THE AIRBAG SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT REMAINS ON. NISSAN NA TOLD ME THEY KNOW SOME MURANOS HAVE THIS PROBLEM BUT THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO FIX IT.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN MURANO. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD ABNORMAL SOUND AND THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT BRACKET FRACTURED. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE SEAT BRACKET FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 97,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT 65 MPH WE HEARD A LOUD POP AND THE DRIVER SEAT STARTED SINKING TO THE BACK LEFT MY HUSBAND AND I GOT SO SCARED BECAUSE HE COULD NOT REACH THE PEDAL OR THE BREAK WHEN THIS HAPPENED. WE WERE IN THE CAR WITH 2 SMALL CHILDREN. HE PUSHED HIMSELF AS MUCH AS HE COULD PRACTICALLY SEATING IN THE AIR OVER THE SEAT TO REACH THE PEDALS TO GET OFF THE FREEWAY. I CAN SAY THAT WE HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED SOMETHING SO SCARY AND DANGEROUS WE COULD OF CRASH. I CONTACTED NISSAN USA AND EXPLAINED THE ENTIRE INCIDENT AND THEY ASKED ME TO TAKE IT TO THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP TO ACCESS THE DAMAGE. I WENT IN THE NEXT DAY ONLY FOR THEM TO TELL ME THAT IT WAS $1,400 TO REPAIR THE SEAT FRAME. THE WORST WAS THE MECHANIC ADMITTING THAT THIS HAPPENS OFTEN IN THE NISSAN MURANO. I CALLED THEM BACK AND THEY REFERRED ME OUT TO A DIFFERENT DEPARTMENT JUST TO LET ME KNOW THAT IT WAS NOT IN THEIR BUDGET TO FIX MY SEAT. LIKE IF THEY WERE DOING ME A FAVOR AND I WAS ASKING FOR SOMETHING ABSURD. THIS IS INSANELY DANGEROUS AND IS A MANUFACTURE DEFECT ON NISSAN PART. THERE IS SO MANY COMPLAINS OF THE SAME ISSUE AND NO ONE IS DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT. NISSAN IS MORE THAN AWARE OF THE PROBLEMS IF THEIR OWN PEOPLE ARE SAYING IT. WE NEED TO START HOLDING THEM ACCOUNTABLE FOR THIS ISSUE. BECAUSE THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND IS HAPPENING WAY TO MANY TIMES. IF THE FREEWAY WAS BUSIER THAT DAY WE WOULD OF CRASH, UNACCEPTABLE!!

I HAD MY VEHICLE TOWED TO A LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP TO GET A KEY MADE FOR IT, SINCE I HAD LOST THE KEY. THE VEHICLE WAS IN OPERATION UP TO DATE. AFTER GETTING A KEY MADE BY THE DEALERSHIP, THE KEY WILL NOT TURN IN THE IGNITION FOR IT IS LOCKED. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT I NOW NEED TO PURCHASE A STEERING LOCK TO GET IT FIXED. THE MURANO I PURCHASED WAS FROM A USED DEALERSHIP AND I WAS UNAWARE OF ANY RECALLS AND DID NOT RECEIVE ANY LETTER TO DATE FOR THE RECALL ON THE STEERING LOCK SINCE I HAVE HAD IT. THERE WAS A RECALL DONE ON THE NISSAN MURANO'S IN THE 2006 DATE RANGE FOR THIS SAME REASON. I WOULD LIKE IT TO BE FIXED FREE OF CHARGE SINCE I DID NOT BREAK IT TO BEGIN WITH. *TR
DRIVING ON I95 AND HEAR A POP AND THE DRIVER'S SEAT SHIFTED ABOUT 5 DEGREES TO THE LEFT AND THE BACK LEFT CORNER DROPPED. WHEN I TURNED TO THE RIGHT, IT FELT LIKE THE LEFT SIDE OF THE SEAT WOULD RAISE UP THEN DROP BACK DOWN AS I COMPLETED THE TURN. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE BEL AIR (MD) NISSAN DEALERSHIP THE FOLLOWING MONDAY. THEY FOUND THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT BOTTOM WELD HAD BROKEN CAUSING THE SEAT FAME TO BEND AND SLIT. THEY INSTALLED GUSSET AND WELDED. COST $757.08. I CONTACTED NISSAN CUSTOMER SERVICE TELLING NISSAN I THOUGHT THIS WAS A SAFETY ISSUE AND THE SEAT FRAME ON AN 8 YEAR OLD CAR WITH LESS THAN 81,000 MILES SHOULD NOT BREAK UNLESS IT WAS UNDER DESIGNED OR WAS DEFECTIVELY MADE. NISSAN ASSIGNED A CASE NUMBER OF 16837975 AND SAID THEY WOULD GET BACK TO ME. THEY GOT BACK TO ME ON 12/17/2014 STATING NISSAN WOULD NOT REIMBURSE THE COST AND NISSAN WAS NOT RESPONSIBLE BECAUSE OF THE INFREQUENT OF OCCURRENCE BUT WOULD NOT TELL ME THE NUMBER OF OCCURRENCES. *TR

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.
DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR SUDDENLY FELL DOWNWARD AT HIGHWAY SPEED WHILE DRIVING OBSTRUCTING VIEW. NISSAN STATES NOT A PROBLEM, AND NOT A RECALL, AND NO WAY TO FIX . THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD.
WILE DRIVING CASUALLY, THE SEAT FELT LIKE DISLOCATING OFF IT'S TRACK AND LEANED FORWARD AND TO THE RIGHT. I PULLED OVER WHEN POSSIBLE AND OBSERVED THAT THE SEAT IS LOOSE ON ITS REAR LEFT SIDE AND ROCKS FREELY TOWARDS THE FRONT. ELECTRICALLY IT FUNCTIONED AS USUAL. MY GARAGE MECHANIC (NOT A NISSAN DEALERSHIP!) CHECKED IT AND FOUND OUT THE METAL FRAME OF THE SEAT IS BROKEN. HE WARNED ME OF KEEPING DRIVING IT AND SAID HE COULD NOT FIX IT BUT WILL LOOK FOR A BODY SHOP OR SOME ONE WHO WILL. I WENT ONLINE TO RESEARCH IT AND LEARNED THAT THIS IS A COMMON WELL-KNOWN SAFETY VIOLATION BY THE MANUFACTURE, WHICH UNFORTUNATELY, OR IN A UNEXPLAINED OTHER REASON, WAS NEVER RECOGNIZED AS AN OFFICIAL SAFETY RECALL. WHILE I WAS DRIVING MY 2006 NISSAN MURANO THERE WAS A BIG SNAPPING SOUND AND THE SEAT SLUMPED TO THE REAR LEFT. WHEN I MAKE LEFT TURNS THE SEAT SWINGS UP. IT WAS DIFFICULT TO STAY SEATED IN THE PROPER POSITION TO CORRECTLY HANDLE THE VEHICLE. I HAVE NOT TAKEN IT TO BE REPAIRED YET BUT IT IS APPARENT SOMETHING BROKE ON THE REAR LEFT SIDE OF THE CHAIR FRAME. CONSIDERING THE AMOUNT OF COMPLAINTS I HAVE SEEN FROM OTHERS WITH THIS SAME ISSUE I THINK IT IS A DISGRACE NISSAN HAS NOT INITIATED A RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM. IT CERTAINLY HAS THE POTENTIAL OF CAUSING A MAJOR SAFETY INCIDENT. FORTUNATELY I WAS ABLE TO KEEP THE VEHICLE UNDER CONTROL WHEN IT SNAPPED. MY SEAT HAS DISLODGED FROM THE BASE IN THE BACK LEFT OF THE DRIVERS SIDE SEAT JUST AS MANY OTHERS HAVE AS WELL. I NOTICED IT WHILE DRIVING AROUND TOWN WHEN THE SEAT ROCKED OUT OF PLACE. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THE NEXT DAY TO HAVE IT INSPECTED. THEY SAID IT WAS A FAILURE AND NEEDED TO BE WELDED ($500) OR THE SEAT NEEDED REPLACEMENT ($1500). I ASKED IF THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM, AND THEY RESPONDED NO. SINCE IT SEEMED SO FAR BEYOND A NORMAL ISSUE WITH A VEHICLE, I DECIDED TO CONTACT NISSAN NORTH AMERICA TO SEE IF THERE WAS A RECALL OR IF SOMETHING COULD BE DONE TO HELP. AFTER A WEEK LONG INVESTIGATION, NISSAN OFFERED NO HELP. THEY WERE VAGUE AS TO MY INQUIRIES IF THIS HAD HAPPENED TO OTHER VEHICLES OF THE SAME MAKE. AFTER SOME FURTHER RESEARCH I CAME ACROSS SAFECAR.ORG, AND FOUND IT TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM. MOREOVER, TO FIND THAT AN INVESTIGATION TOOK PLACE ALREADY ON THE ISSUE AND WAS CLOSED WITH NO ACTION IS RIDICULOUS AND NEGLIGENT. DOES THERE HAVE TO BE A MAJOR ACCIDENT FOR THIS ISSUE TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY? I HOPE THE CASE GETS REOPENED AND THE ISSUE IS PREVENTED GOING FORWARD. *TR
