TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH WHEN THE BRAKE AND BATTERY SENSOR WARNING LIGHTS SUDDENLY ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE ALSO WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ALTERNATOR HAD MALFUNCTIONED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND NO SOLUTION WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT DRIVER'S SIDE THE SEAT WOULD ROCK BACK AND FORTH. THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT BRACKET WAS BROKEN. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED IN REFERENCE TO THE DEFECT BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND NO SOLUTION WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,000.
DRIVER'S SEAT GOT OFF TRACK AND NO LONGER WORKS. CAN NOT MOVE THE SEAT AND SEAT IS NOW WOBBLING. *TR
THE SUN VISOR ON BOTH SIDES OF NISSAN MURANO KEEPS FALLING AND ESPECIALLY WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS A VERY COMMON ISSUE AND NISSAN NEEDS TO ADDRESS. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BECAME COMPLETELY DETACHED FROM THE FRAME, CAUSING THE SEAT TO TILT AND NOT REMAIN IN A SECURE POSITION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO STATED THAT THE SEAT BRACKET WAS FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 112,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN MURANO. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR ROUTINE SERVICE WHEN THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE POWER STEERING HOSE WAS LEAKING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48000.
I HAVE A 2006 MURANO. I WAS DRIVING ROAD AND MY DRIVERS SEAT DROP TO THE LEFT SIDE. THIS ALMOST THREW ME IN THE BACK SEAT. I HAD TO SWIRL TO KEEP FROM HITTING A CAR. I HAD MY KID IN THE CAR WITH ME. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING OVER 30 YEARS AND NEVER HAS THIS HAPPEN TO ME. WHAT IS IT GOING TO TAKE FOR NISSAN TO RECALL THIS ISSUE. HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE TO DIE IN ORDER TO GET THIS PROBLEM RESOLVE. *TR
BACK LEFT SIDE OF DRIVERS SEAT BRACKET SNAPPED WHILE DRIVING. AT THE TIME, LUCKY FOR ME, I DID HAVE SOME RECENTLY PURCHASED ITEMS PLACED ON THE BACK FLOORBOARD AREA WHICH "LESSENED" THE AMOUNT THE SEAT COULD DROP. THE ITEMS WERE REMOVED AND I WAS UNAWARE OF THE EXTENT OF DAMAGE UNTIL FURTHER DRIVING. EXCESSIVE ROCKING ON TURNS AND ON LOCAL ROADS (TO INCLUDE DRIVEWAYS, PARKING LOT ENTRANCES, SPEED BUMPS ETC). DRIVERS SEAT STABILITY IS WITHOUT A DOUBT A SAFETY NECESSITY. RECALL THIS FAULTY ITEM!!!!!!!! AFTER RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE I HAVE FOUND THAT THIS IS OCCURRING TOO FREQUENTLY AND IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE. I HEARD A SNAP AND THE DRIVER'S SEAT IS NOW LEANING TO THE LEFT AGAINST THE DRIVER'S DOOR. IT ROCKS WHEN CAR MAKES A RIGHT TURN. *TR
THE SEAT BASED WELD FAILED ON THE LEFT REAR CORNER CAUSING AN UNSAFE CONDITION. IN RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE, THERE ARE MANY, MANY SIMILAR INCIDENTS REPORTED ON THE WEB. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL CONDITION AS IT RENDERS THE VEHICLE UNSAFE TO DRIVE. *TR
I OPENED THE DOOR OF MY CAR AND SAT DOWN IN MY SEAT TO LEAVE AND HEARD A LOUD BANGING SOUND AND MY SEAT FELL BACK. I GOT OUT TO LOOK, BUT COULD NOT SEE ANYTHING AT FIRST. AS I DROVE DOWN THE RODE MY SEAT WOULD ROCK BACK AND FORTH WHEN I HIT BUMPS. IT WAS THE REAR LEFT SIDE OF MY DRIVER'S SEAT. WHEN I GOT HOME, I GOT A FLASHLIGHT AND LOOKED UNDER MY SEAT, WHERE I NOTICED THE METAL FRAME WAS BROKEN IN HALF. I GOOGLED THIS ISSUE WHERE I FOUND THAT IT IS VERY COMMON IN NISSAN MURANO'S 2003-2007. MY CAR HAS 91,000 MILES ON IT. *TR
BOUGHT THE CAR, USED IN 2009. FOR AT LEAST TWO YEARS CHARGERS IN CAR DID NOT WORK. WITHIN LAST SIX MONTHS FUEL GAUGE BECAME INACCURATE. THERE WAS ANOTHER INCIDENT WHERE THE CAR JUST STOPPED, WILL LOOK FOR DETAILS. BUT 9/24/13 DRIVING UP A HILL, CAR CAME OUT OF GEAR AND STOPPED WORKING. THE PART THAT WAS ULTIMATELY REPLACED WAS THE INSTRUMENT PANEL-PART NUMBER 24820-CC20A. APPARENTLY, PANEL WAS NOT COMMUNICATING WITH TRANSMISSION PROPERLY. DEALER CHARGED US $1150 TO REPLACE. NEITHER SERVICE MANAGER OR SERVICE COORDINATOR HAS SEEN ONE WHICH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. NISSAN ACCEPTS NO RESPONSIBILITY. YES, INTERNET FULL OF COMMENTS ABOUT ISSUES WITH TRANSMISSION AND INSTRUMENT PANEL. THESE FAILURES APPEAR TO BE THE RESULT OF FAULTY SOLDERING OR WELDING OF CONNECTIONS. *TR
DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND A LOUD NOISE HAPPENED. DRIVER SEAT LEANS TO THE LEFT AND AS YOU MAKE TURNS IT MOVES BACK AND FOURTH. VERY DANGEROUS. I DO NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE WEARING MY SEAT BELT NOW. IF I WAS TO GET INTO A ACCIDENT THE WHOLE SEAT WOULD GO FLYING WITH ME.
I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM MY SONS SCHOOL IN AFTERNOON RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC WHEN THERE WAS A VERY LOUD CRACKING SOUND AND THE CAR WAS JERKING UNCONTROLLABLY. I HAD TO SLOW DOWN TO 10 MILES AN HOUR IN A 45 ZONE TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE INTO SAFE HAVEN. IN MY RESEARCH THIS IS A DEFECT OF THE CVT TRANSMISSION FOR NISSAN AND I AM CONCERNED FOR THE SAFETY OF SOMEONE WHO IS LESS EXPERIENCED OR IN AN EVEN MORE UNSAFE ENVIRONMENT WHEN THIS HAPPENS TO THEM! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BELT FAILED TO RETRACT. THE SEAT BELT ALSO BECAME ABNORMALLY TIGHT AROUND HER CHILD. AS A RESULT, THE SEAT BELT HAD TO BE CUT IN ORDER TO RELEASE THE CHILD AND AVOID SUFFOCATION. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE CHILD HAD BRUISES ON HIS STOMACH BUT WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
FAULTY FUEL GAUGE, FUEL FLOAT OR FUEL MONITORING SYSTEM. I FILLED UP THE CAR AND THE GAUGE READS EMPTY. IT WILL ERRATICALLY SHOW DIFFERENT FUEL LEVELS RANGING ANYWHERE FROM EMPTY TO HALF-FULL TO FULL. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO KNOW HOW MUCH FUEL IS LEFT. AFTER DOING A BRIEF INTERNET SEARCH I DISCOVERED THAT THEIR ARE MULTIPLE ENTRIES FOR THIS ISSUE FROM OTHER NISSAN OWNERS. *TR
BOUGHT CAR USED IN MAY 2013. AUGUST 14 GOT INTO CAR IN MORNING FOR WORK AND SEAT FELT WOBBLY. WHEN I LEFT WORK AND GOT INTO CAR SEAT LEANED BACK AND TOWARDS DRIVERS DOOR. IMMEDIATELY DROVE TO MECHANICS SHOP AND WAS THEN TOLD THE SEAT SUPPORT HAD BROKEN AGAIN. HAD BEEN WELDED ONCE BEFORE AND WELD BROKE. WHEN LOOKING FOR A REPLACEMENT SEAT READ THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED SO MANY TIMES THAT NISSAN HAD MADE A REPLACEMENT PART THAT WAS A SOLID PIECE OF METAL THAT CORRECTED THE "Y" SHAPED BRACKET THAT HAS BROKEN REPEATEDLY ON MANY CARS USUALLY @ 75,000 MILES. NISSAN DID NOT GIVE THIS PIECE TO THE MURANOS OWNERS, INSTEAD SOLD IT TO THEM. FURIOUS AND DISAPPOINTED WITH NISSAN FOR NOT HAVING A RECALL. PEOPLE COULD DIE IF THEY WERE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND THIS HAPPENED. *TR
I TRIED TO PARK MY CAR IN A PARKING. IT WOULD NOT GO INTO PARK; IT WOULD GO NO FURTHER THAN NEUTRAL GEAR. AS A RESULT, BECAUSE I COULD NOT GO INTO REVERSE I HAD TO DRIVE OVER A MEDIAN TO EXIT THE PARKING LOT. I SUBSEQUENTLY DISCOVERED THAT TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS ARE ENDEMIC WITH THIS MAKE AND MODEL. WHY HAVE YOU NOT ORDERED NISSAN TO ISSUE A RECALL? *TR
NISSAN- MURANO'S 2003-2010. WHILE TRAVELING AT APX. 20 MPH ON STRAIGHT ROAD WITH A PASSENGER, WE HEAR LOUD POP, 2006 MURANO. THEREAFTER, THE DRIVERS SEAT WAS LEANING TO THE REAR AND OFF BALANCE "ROCK LIKE A ROCKING CHAIR FROM SIDE TO SIDE, LEANING BACK ON ONE SIDE FEELING LIKE SEAT COULD JUST COME OFF COMPLETELY AND OUT OF LINE IN ITS ORIGINAL CONFIGURATION". AFTER INVESTIGATING FURTHER, A "DEFECTIVE METAL BRACING APPARATUS" THAT IS SUPPOSED TO SUPPORT THE SEAT AND HAS FAILED ON MANY OR MOST OF THIS CLASS. CORPORATE NISSAN TELLS CLIENTS "SORRY CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY", OR, NOT A COVERED ITEM ON LIMITED WARRANTIES. NISSAN IS AWARE THIS IS AN ENORMOUS PROBLEM, THE MAGNITUDE OF CARS BROUGHT IN, THE SAFETY ISSUES, BUT CONTINUED TO MANUFACTURE, PRODUCE, ADVERTISE, SELL CLAIM "REPAIR" SUCH VEHICLES. WHY NOT,"A GREAT AMOUNT OF MONEY IS MADE FOR EVERY CLIENT COMING IN AT THEIR MERCY FOR THIS DEFECT". THIS PART FAILS ON NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR AND CAN POTENTIALLY CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT IF SOMEONE IS OPERATING THIS VEHICLE AT A HIGHER SPEED. THE CAR IS NOT MECHANICALLY SAFE, AND NISSAN IS RUNNING A BUSINESS ON EXCESSIVE CHARGES ON CUSTOMERS IN THE THOUSANDS TO HAVE " REPAIRED". IN ADDITION, THE REPAIRS ARE NOT GUARANTEED AND THE SAME DEFECTIVE MECHANISMS THAT FAILED ORIGINALLY ARE USED OVER AGAIN FOR REPAIRS. MANUFACTURING, SALES AND REPAIRS CONTINUE THEREAFTER FOR 7 YEARS OF MONEY MADE AT THE MERCY OF CUSTOMERS. A RECALL SHOULD BE INSTITUTED AND RESTITUTION TO ALL NISSAN OWNERS THAT HAVE OR WILL BE AFFECTED DUE TO GROSS NEGLIGENT LIABILITY ON PART OF NISSAN NORTH AMERICA. THE (LEFT REAR SUPPORT) MECHANISM IS DEFECTIVE ON DRIVERS SEAT, AND UNSUITABLE TO PROVIDE ANY SUPPORT OR WITHSTAND NORMAL FORCE. ITS MADE LIKE "TIN - FOIL" TO SUPPORT A DRIVER. AN IMMEDIATE INVESTIGATION, RECALL AND CLASS ACTION SHOULD BE INSTITUTED ON ALL VEHICLES OF THIS CLASS! *TR
THE DRIVER'S SEAT SUDDENLY LEANED TO THE LEFT WHILE MAKING A RIGHT TURN. FORTUNATELY, IT WAS ON A SIDE STREET AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TRAVELING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED. AFTER INVESTIGATING THE PROBLEM IT WAS LEARNED THAT THE LEFT SIDE OF THE LINK ASSEMBLY (SEAT FRAME) HAD FRACTURED AT THE END OF A POORLY DESIGNED BRACKET. THERE IS OBVIOUSLY AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH NISSAN (SEE "MURANO SEAT" ON THE INTERNET) IN RECOGNIZING THAT A PRODUCT RECALL SHOULD ISSUED. HOWEVER, WHAT IS EVEN MORE FRUSTRATING IS THAT NISSAN HAS CHANGED THE LINK ASSEMBLY DESIGN, BUT WILL NOT SELL THAT COMPONENT SEPARATELY. THEY ARE EXPECTING THE CONSUMER TO PAY IN EXCESS OF $1,000.00 TO PURCHASE THE ENTIRE SEAT FRAME ASSEMBLY WITH THE SEAT MOTORS INCLUDED! IF THE NHTSA DOES NOT SEE THIS AS A SAFETY ISSUE - THAN WHAT IS? *TR
THE DRIVERS SIDE SEAT COLLAPSED TO THE LEFT . AFTER INSPECTION ,DISCOVERED THE SEAT WELD BROKE . I CONTACTED NISSAN AND WAS TOLD TO BRING IN TO A LOCAL DEALER FOR INSPECTION . THE DRIVER SIDE LEFT WELD BRACKET BROKE ON MY SEAT. NO ROT OR RUST. A SERIOUS DESIGN DEFECT. THE SEAT MOVES ALL AROUND AND IS NOT SECURED TO THE VEHICLES FRAME ANY LONGER. IN AN ACCIDENT WOULD NOT KEEP DRIVER SAFE. HOW ON EARTH IS THIS NOT A RECALLED ISSUE ??!!!! I SUPPOSE YOUR WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO DIE. *TR
CURRENTLY HAVE TO REPLACE THE POWER STEERING HOSE. MASSIVE LEAK AND USING A BOTTLE OF POWER STEERING FLUID EVERY COUPLE DAYS. I HAVE READ AND REVIEWED A MINIMUM OF 100 COMPLAINTS OF THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM BUT NISSAN REFUSES TO DO A RECALL ON THIS MATTER. I DID NOT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS UNTIL MY POWER STEERING QUIT WORKING WELL ON THE HIGHWAY GOING 55MPH DURING A RAIN STORM. I WAS VERY CLOSE TO GOING IN THE DITCH. THIS IS NOT A $50 FIX BUT A $450 FIX AND A PROBLEM THAT SHOULD NOT BE OCCURING. I WOULD BE FINE IF IT WAS A CLAMP THAT CAME LOSE OR A BEARING WAS LEAKING BUT FOR 100'S OF HIGH PRESSURE POWER STEERING LINES TO BE FAULTY IS A FACTORY MALFUNCTION AND SHOULD BE RECALLED. THE PROBLEM STARTED WITH A POPPING SENSATION IN THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT WHILE DRIVING. THEN OVER A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME THE DRIVER'S SEAT STARTED A ROCKING MOTION. SHORTLY AFTER THAT, WHILE DRIVING, THE SEAT JUST DROPPED ON THE LEFT SIDE. WHEN I GOT HOME MY HUSBAND TOOK A LOOK AND COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING OFF. IT CONTINUED TO ROCK BACK AND FORTH. I FINALLY TOOK IT TO NISSAN WHO LOOKED AT IT, TOLD ME WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS THE "ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY, FRONT" NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE COST $ 1350. I CHECKED ON LINE AND FOUND HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. AND THERE WAS NO RECALL. HOW CAN THAT BE? I WAS DRIVING WHEN THE SEAT DROPPED. I WAS STARTLED. HOWEVER, THIS WAS NOT ENOUGH TO DEEM THE PROBLEM SEVERE ENOUGH TO HAVE A RECALL. I WOULD THINK NISSAN WOULD JUST FIX IT BECAUSE THE PROBLEM WAS SO WIDE SPREAD. WE BOUGHT THIS CAR NEW, 10 MILES, IN 2006. AND IT HAS BEEN ONE THING OR ANOTHER. THIS CAR HAS 63,000 MILES ON IT. SERVICED IT AS THE MANUAL SPECIFIED. THIS CAR HAS NEVER BEEN TAKEN ON A LONG ROAD TRIP. MY DAILY COMMUTE TO AND FROM WORK IS APPROXIMATELY 15 MILES AND GARAGED. FOR MORE THAN 2 YEARS I WORKED FROM HOME SO THE CAR WAS NOT DRIVEN MUCH. WE KNOW WE WILL NOT BUY A NISSAN OR INFINITI AGAIN. NOR DO WE RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE WE COME IN CONTACT WITH. *TR
AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN A RESIDENTIAL BACK ROAD I FELT A SPRING OR SOMETHING BRAKE UNDER THE LEFT SIDE OF MY DRIVER SEAT. AT FIRST I THOUGHT A PITHIER SPRING GAVE OUT! I WAS WRONG, ONE OF THE PARTS THAT HOLDS MY SEAT UP AND IN PLACE BROKE! I BELIEVE THIS IS A DEFECT AND SAFETY ISSUE. I WAS ROUNDING A CURVE IN THE ROAD GOING ABOUT 25 MPH AND MY SEAT TRACK BROKE! I KNOW THIS IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE VIA INTERNET RESEARCH. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD! IF I WERE TO BE IN AN ACCIDENT, MY SEAT WOULD FAIL COMPLETELY AND I'D BE BADLY INJURED OR AT WORST HURLED THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD!! THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL!!!! FURTHERMORE, I CANNOT AFFORD TO FIX THE ISSUE. THE DEALERSHIP HAS QUOTED ME OVER A THOUSAND DOLLARS!! ARE YOU GOING TO WAIT FOR A GRAPHIC DEATH BEFORE YOU FIX THIS ISSUE. MY DRIVER'S SIDE VISOR HAS SUDDENLY DECIDED TO KEEP FALLING DOWN. IT WILL NOT STAY IN THE UPRIGHT POSITION. IT SLOWLY WORKS ITS WAY DOWNWARD. WHEN I HIT A BUMP IN THE ROAD THE OTHER DAY IT JUST FELL ALL THE WAY DOWN. THIS WAS WHILE CHANGING LANES AND COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT DUE TO THE DISTRACTION AND THE VISIBILITY ISSUES. I HAVE THE GOLD EXTENDED PREFERRED WARRANTY, AND NISSAN STATES IT ISN'T COVERED, YET I DON'T AGREE THAT IT IS A WEAR AND TEAR ITEM. I DON'T EVEN USE THE VISOR ENOUGH FOR IT TO BE WORN AND TORN....I THINK IT JUT FAILS OVER TIME, PERHAPS DUE TO HEAT FROM THE SUN. THIS APPEARS TO BE A RECURRING PROBLEM BASED ON THE COMPLAINTS ACTUALLY FILED HERE AT NHTSA AND THE POSTINGS FOUND ONLINE. A GOODWILL WARRANTY PROGRAM WOULD SEEM TO BE IN ORDER HERE AT THE MINIMUM. *TR

SHE ALMOST LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND HAD TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. WHEN SHE GOT OUT OF THE CAR TO SEE WHAT HAPPENED SHE NOTICED THAT THE SEAT WAS VERY UNSTABLE AND WHEN PUSHED TO THE CENTER OF THE CAR WITH ONE FINGER WAS NO LONGER ATTACHED TO THE FLOOR OF THE CAR. WHEN I WAS CALLED TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE I FOUND THAT THE FRAME OF THE DRIVERS SIDE SEAT HAD SHEARED INTO TWO PIECES AND IN FACT SHE WAS RIGHT. THE SEAT WAS NO LONGER ATTACHED TO THE FLOOR ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE SEAT. I LOOKED THIS UP ON THE WEB AND THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME THING HAPPENING TO OTHER AMERICANS WHO BOUGHT THIS CAR. NOTE: THIS CAR IS A 2006 BUT, MY WIFE ONLY DRIVES IT ON THE WEEKENDS AND THE CAR HAS VERY LOW MILEAGE AS INDICATED ABOVE. THIS IS A VERY BAD SAFETY ISSUE AS THE SEAT COULD NOW BREAK LOOSE ON THE OTHER SIDE AND THE WHOLE SEAT COULD WIND UP FALLING INTO THE REAR SEAT AREA. THIS WOULD DEFINITELY CAUSE A LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD BE RIPPED OUT OF THE DRIVERS HANDS AND THEIR FEET WOULD BE PULLED AWAY FROM THE GAS AND THE BRAKE PEDALS. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.

I WAS DRIVING OUT OF MY NEIGHBORHOOD WHEN I HEARD A LOUD POP UNDER THE DRIVERS SIDE CHAIR. I CAN NOW LIFT MY ENTIRE DRIVERS SIDE SEAT OFF OF THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE TRACK. AFTER I DID FURTHER RESEARCH I FOUND THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH 2003-2009 MURANOS. THE METAL BRACKET HOLDING THE SEAT ONTO THE TRACK BREAKS DUE TO THE METAL BEING TOO THIN. I HAVE READ WELL OVER 250 COMPLAINTS ON THE SAME ISSUE WITH MURANOS. NISSAN REFUSES TO FIX SINCE A "CAMPAIGN" (I.E. RECALL) HAS NOT BEEN ISSUES. I WAS QUOTED $1000 TO FIX THE ISSUE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND IRRESPONSIBLE AND NEGLIGENT ON NISSAN'S PART TO NOT RECALL THE MURANOS. I TOOK MY CAR TO 2 NISSAN SERVICE CENTERS AND BOTH MANAGERS KNEW ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND SAID ITS COMMON PROBLEM. ONE EVEN WENT SO FAR TO CALL THE PART "DEFECTIVE" YET NISSAN WILL DO NOTHING ABOUT IT. I CAN ONLY ASSUME THIS DEFECTIVE PART IS ON OTHER SEATS IN THE CAR. IT?S A MATTER OF TIME UNTIL A SEAT BREAKS AND FALLS OFF THE TRACK WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY CAUSING POTENTIAL DEATHS. NISSAN IS NEGLIGENT AND IRRESPONSIBLE. I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER NISSAN. THEY DO NO STAND BEHIND THEIR CARS OR HAVE THEIR CONSUMER?S BEST INTERESTS IN MIND. I HAVE SEARCHED THE NISSAN FORUMS AND READ WHERE ONE NISSAN MECHANIC, (METRO273) SAID THAT THIS IS A FAULTY PROBLEM WITH THE SUN VISOR AND HE HAS REPAIRED MANY. TO MY POINT THIS PRESENTS A HAZARD FOR THE DRIVER BECAUSE IF THE CAR IS IN MOTION AND THIS THING FALLS DOWN, THE DRIVER HAS TO MAKE A SPLIT DECISION BY TAKING HIS EYES OFF THE ROAD TO REMOVE THE OBSTACLE THAT IS BLOCKING HIS OR HER VIEW. NISSAN SHOULD WARRANTY THIS ITEM AND REPLACE IT FOR FREE. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED AS BEING FRACTURED FROM THE TRACK AND NEEDING TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 62,800.
VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING AT APPROX. 30 MPH WHEN THE FRONT DRIVER'S SEAT GAVE WAY CAUSING THE DRIVER TO LEAN TO THE LEFT HITTING THE LEFT FRONT DOOR. DRIVER WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF SAID VEHICLE BUT BECAME ALARMED AT THE SUDDEN NATURE OF THE EVENT. IT APPEARS THAT A BRACKET SUPPORTING THE SEAT BROKE. INTERNET RESEARCH AND DISCUSSIONS WITH NISSAN CUSTOMER SERVICE (LOCAL FACILITY) IS VERY AWARE OF THE SEAT PROBLEM. THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS REPORTS OF FAILED BRACKETS WITH THE 2003-2009 MURANO. TO DATE, I BELIEVE THERE HAVE BEEN NO FATALITIES CAUSED BY THE SUDDEN BREAKAGE, BUT IN I MY HUMBLE OPINION, IT IS JUST A MATTER OF TIME. I AM STUNNED THAT THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL. NISSAN SHOULD TAKE THE INITIATIVE AND BE PROACTIVE AND HAVE SAID VEHICLES FIXED. *TR
DRIVERS SIDE SEAT FRAME FAILURE. CHAIR BECAME VERY WOBBLY AND MY WIFE ALMOST CRASHED THE VEHICLE. SHE HAD TO STOP THE CAR, LOWER THE SEAT TO THE VERY LOWEST TO FLATTEN OUT THE WOBBLE, THEN SHE WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME. DRIVING THIS WAS COMPROMISES HER ABILITY TO SIT UP HIGHER AND SEE MORE OF THE ROAD. VERY DANGEROUS AND NISSAN NEEDS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY. THE DRIVER'S SEAT MOVES EVERY TIME I STOP OR ACCELERATE. NISSAN SAYS IT WILL COST 1300-1500 TO REPAIR. LOOKING ONLINE THIS IS A RECURRING PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR. I CONTACTED NISSAN CONSUMER AND TWICE THEY INFORMED ME THAT THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO ABOUT MY SITUATION BECAUSE MY WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED. THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP QUOTED $2,476.68 PLUS TAX TO REPLACE THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT SLIDE ASSEMBLY AND ADJUSTER, ALONG WITH THE REPLACEMENT OF THE PLASTIC SIDE FINISHERS AND NISSAN REFUSES TO EVEN CONSIDER OFFERING ASSISTANCE IN PAYMENT. RIGHT NOW I'M DRIVING WITH A PIECE OF 2X4 AND SOME SCREWS TO HOLD MY SEAT IN ONE POSITION. THIS IS NOT A LIGHT-HEARTED MATTER. NISSAN KNOWS THEY ARE NEGLIGENT AND REFUSE TO ISSUE A RECALL ON THESE SEATS. MY MOST PRECIOUS CARGO IS MY 3 YR. OLD GRANDDAUGHTER. EVERY TIME I BUCKLE HER IN HER CAR SEAT, I PRAY TO GOD THAT THERE WILL NOT BE A COLLISION OF ANY KIND. IT ROCKS BACK AND FORTH NOW BECAUSE THE BRACKET THAT HOLDS THE SEAT IS BROKEN. MY SEAT LITERALLY FALLS ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE CAR FLOOR NOW. I DECIDED TO LOOK THIS PROBLEM UP ONLINE AND I WAS ASTOUNDED TO SEE THAT THERE ARE LITERALLY THOUSANDS OF 2006 NISSAN MURANOS WITH THIS EXACT SAME PROBLEM WITH THE EXACT SAME SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS AS WHAT I HAD. WHAT WAS EVEN MORE INCREDULOUS TO ME WAS THE FAT THAT NISSAN HASN'T PUT OUT A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE AND EXPECTS THE CONSUMER TO PAY FOR THE SEAT WHICH APPARENTLY IS GOING TO COST ME UP TO $1500 FOR THE SEAT. THIS IS A FACTORY DEFECT AND NISSAN SHOULD PUT OUT A RECALL TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. IT MAKES THE CAR VERY HARD TO DRIVE AND CAN CAUSE THE DRIVE TO JERK TO THE LEFT WHEN THE SEAT LUNGES BACKWARDS POSSIBLY CAUSING A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. WELD BROKE ON DRIVER SEAT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY (BRACKET/FRAME). APPARENTLY, A VERY COMMON PROBLEM. *TR
I WAS GETTING OUT OF MY NISSAN MURANO TO PICK UP MY CHILD FROM SCHOOL. WHEN I GOT OUT I HEARD A STRANGE POP/CRACK NOISE AND THE SEAT WAS TITLED TO THE LEFT BACK. I OPENED THE BACK DOOR AND LOOKED UNDER THE SEAT AND FOUND THAT THERE WAS A PIECE OF METAL THAT HAD BROKEN. THIS CAUSED THE SEAT TO FALL BACKWARDS AND TO THE LEFT. I WAS UNABLE TO DRIVE IT UNTIL I FOUND A PLASTIC CUP TALL ENOUGH TO HOLD UP THE BACK LEFT CORNER OF THE SEAT SO I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE US HOME. I'M A SINGLE MOTHER BARELY MAKING IT AND CANT AFFORD A $1200 REPAIR. ESPECIALLY WHEN THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF THE SAME COMPLAINT. THE DEALERSHIPS OTHER COMPLAINTS HAVE STATED THAT IT IS A COMMON ISSUE. THIS COMMON ISSUE, HAD I BEEN DRIVING WOULD HAVE CAUSED A WRECK AND THE MANUFACTURER WILL TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY. I PURCHASED THIS USED AND NOW I KNOW WHY THE PRIOR TWO OWNERS GOT RID OF IT. I ALSO WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT NISSAN CARED ABOUT THE PEOPLE PURCHASING THEIR VEHICLES. I WANTED A SAFE TRUCK TO TRANSPORT MY CHILD. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL AND NISSAN SHOULD REPLACE THE BRACKET FREE OF CHARGE KNOWING THAT THIS IS AN ISSUE. *TR
