TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN MURANO. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE FRONT OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED FACE INJURIES, THE FRONT PASSENGER WHO WAS PREGNANT SUSTAINED STOMACH INJURES, THE FETUS SUSTAINED A FRACTURE ON THE LEG, AND THE REAR PASSENGER SUSTAINED HEAD INJURES. ALL PASSENGERS REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED, BUT WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTO BODY REPAIR CENTER FOR BODY REPAIRS. IN ADDITION, FIVE MONTHS LATER WHILE DRIVING AT 35 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT SWITCHED INTO THE RIGHT LANE AND ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR OF THE VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED BACK INJURIES, THE FRONT PASSENGER SUSTAINED BACK AND CERVICAL INJURIES AND THE REAR PASSENGER SUSTAINED HEAD INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. ALL PASSENGERS REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. NISSAN REFUSES TO RECOGNIZE A KNOWN PROBLEM IN THE NISSAN ROGUE IN IT'S BIG BROTHER THE NISSAN MURANO. THE DOOR ACTUATOR SOLENOID GOES OUT AND LOCKS PEOPLE INTO OR OUT OF THEIR CAR, WHERE THE REMOTE, KEY, DOOR HANDLE OR CROWBAR CANNOT OPEN THE DOOR CAUSING A POTENTIALLY FATAL SAFETY ISSUE. IF A PASSENGER IS UNABLE TO LEAVE THE VEHICLE IN AN EMERGENCY IT COULD RESULT IN FATALITIES. I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHO OFFERED TO BREAK MY DOOR PANEL TO ASSESS THE ISSUE, A $300+ EXPENSE TO ME, NOT TO MENTION THE LABOR BREAKING MY DOOR PANEL. ONCE THEY WERE ABLE TO GET INTO MY DOOR, THEY DETERMINED IT WAS THE ACTUATOR SOLENOID, WHICH IS A KNOW ROGUE SERVICE ORDER PROBLEM, AND TOLD ME THAT WOULD BE AN ADDITIONAL $575 TO REPLACE. I HAD STARTED A CASE WITH NISSAN USA CORPORATION REGARDING THIS, THEIR RESPONSE, "WE'LL SEE WHAT WE CAN DO TO HELP." THEY DID NOTHING. DISAPPOINTING. *TR
PASSENGER DOOR LOCKED SHUT. CANNOT OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE OR THE INSIDE. PREGNANT PASSENGER HAD TO CLIMB OVER CENTER COUNSEL TO GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE. ONCE I GOOGLED THE ISSUE, THE 2008-2009 NISSAN ROGUE & MURANOS HAVE THIS ISSUE, A SERVICE ORDER WAS CREATED FOR THE ROGUE, BUT NOT THE MURANO. *TR
FAILURE WITH 2009 NISSAN MURANO TRANSFER CASE AFTER 60,000 MILES SEEMS TO BE A BIG PROBLEM AND NISSAN IS NOT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY , CAUSING THE CUSTOMER THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS FOR REPAIRS, SEEMS THAT THEIR IS A DEFECT , WHERE YOU HEAR A HUMMING NOISE COMING FROM YOUR FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE AND NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO ALERT YOU SOME THING IS WRONG UNTIL YOU SHOWS UP AT A DEALER SHIP TO CHECK OUT THE NOISE AND GET BANG FOR $3000, THIS A CON GAME NISSAN IS USING TO RIPOFF HARD AMERICAN WORKING PEOPLE, THIS CON GAME NEED TO BE INVESTIGATED, SINCE THEIR ARE SO MANY COMPLAINTS FROM MURANO OWNERS ABOUT THIS EXISTING PROBLEM . *TR
MY SUNROOF OVER DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEATS LITERALLY EXPLODED WHILE DRIVING ON INTERSTATE- SUNNY 38 DEGREE DAY, NOT UNDER A BRIDGE OR NEAR OTHER CARS . THE NOISE WAS DEAFENING, AND GLASS CAME CRASHING ON MY (THE DRIVER) HEAD AND ON THE CHILDREN IN THE BACK SEAT. THE ROOF EXPLODED UPWARD LIKE A VOLCANO. NOTHING HIT THE ROOF, AS WE WERE SHAKEN BUT ABLE TO PULL OVER AND CHECK THE CAR FOR ANY EVIDENCE OF SOMETHING CRASHING INTO SUNROOF. BUT THE ROOF EXPLODED UPWARD AND OUTWARD AS IT BECAME OBVIOUS THAT A LARGE CHUNK OF GLASS FROM ROOF WAS MISSING. THE SUNROOF WAS CLOSED, BUT THE SUN SHADE WAS OPEN. REPORTED PROBLEM TO NISSAN, BUT THEY HAVE YET TO GET BACK TO ME. THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM AND A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN. THIS PROBLEM SEEMS TO STEM FROM A PRESSURE PROBLEM WITHIN THE MURANO. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS!! SUNROOF IS BEING REPLACED, BUT I'M NOW TERRIFIED TO DRIVE MY CAR, SEEING AS HOW THIS CAN HAPPEN AGAIN, AND WE MAY NOT BE AS FORTUNATE TO PULL OVER SAFELY AND MAKE IT TO SIDE OF ROAD! NISSAN MUST DEAL WITH THIS PROBLEM! THIS CAN POTENTIALLY BE A FATAL FLAW ON THE MURANO. *TR
MY MURANO LOSES POWER WHILE STOPPED OR UPON ACCELERATION FROM A STOPPED POSITION. ALL MY VEHICLE LIGHTS INSIDE AND OUT FLICKER AND FLASH. THESES LIGHTS INCLUDE DOME, DASH, RADIO, OUTSIDE LIGHTS HEADLIGHTS, PARK LIGHTS, BRAKE LIGHTS. I'VE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC AND THEY ALWAYS SAY IT'S THE BATTERY. I'VE HAD 5 NISSAN BATTERIES IN 5 YEARS. I'VE HAD THE ALTERNATOR REPLACED WITH NO RELIEF FOR THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN MURANO. WHILE DRIVING AT UNKNOWN SPEEDS, THE REAR SEAT WARMERS WERE ACTIVATED. AS A RESULT, A HOLE WAS BURNED THROUGH THE SEATS AND ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT A THREE YEAR OLD CHILD WAS SEATED IN A SAFETY SEAT AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURE, BUT THERE WERE NO INJURIES REPORTED. A POLICE AND A FIRE REPORT WERE NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,000.
AS I WAS DRIVING THE STEERING WHEEL WAS SQEEZING MY STOMACH AND GOING UP AND DOWN WITH NO CONTROL, LUCKILY I WAS DRIVING 35 MPH AND WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER TO AVOID A ACCIDENT. *TR
AS I WAS DRIVING INTO THE PARKING DECK IN CHARLOTTE AND THE SUNROOF ON MY 2009 MURANO EXPLODED. I AM SURE IT WAS NOT HIT BY ANY ROCK OR OTHER OBJECT BECAUSE I WAS PARKING. LUCKILY, MY FIVE YEAR OLD DAUGHTER AND WIFE WERE NOT WITH ME BECAUSE THIS SCARED ME. THE GLASS CRACKED ALL THE WAY AROUND AND I WAS NOT SHOWERED WITH GLASS AS THE SUNSCREEN WAS CLOSED. IF I WERE ON THE HIGHWAY, I WOULD HAVE WRECKED NOT KNOWING WHAT THIS WAS OR COMING FROM. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. I WAS ABLE TO GET OUT IN THE PARKING DECK AND TAKE PICTURES. AS I DROVE BACK TO COLUMBIA, SC, MOST OF THE LOOSE GLASS BLEW OFF LEAVING A LARGE HOLE ON THE TOP AND OTHER DRIVERS WERE STARTLED WITH WHAT WAS HAPPENING. THIS HAS TO BE ADDRESSED BECAUSE I HAVE KEPT MY CAR UP TO DATE WITH THE NECESSARY SERVICES. THIS IS DEFINITELY A HAZARD THAT COULD PLACE LIVES IN JEOPARDY. APPARENTLY, THIS IS AN ONGOING SITUATION. I HAVE CONTACTED A LAWYER FOR ASSISTANCE IF NISSAN NORTH AMERICA DOES NOT ADDRESS THIS CONCERN. *TR
I HAVE REPLACED THE MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER IN THIS VEHICLE TWICE. BOTH TIMES, THE BRAKES WOULD INEXPLICABLY LOSE PRESSURE, WITH THE PEDAL TRAVELING ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. THE TWO REPLACEMENTS WERE DONE BY THE DEALER WITHIN A YEAR OF EACH OTHER. THE FIRST WAS A WARRANTY REPAIR, THE SECOND HAPPENED OUT OF WARRANTY. I SAW AN ARTICLE INDICATING THIS PROBLEM WAS BEING INVESTIGATED AND DECIDED TO ADD MY COMPLAINT.
DEC 2014 TOOK 2009 NISSAN MURANO TO DEALERSHIP. CRACKS STARTED OPENING UP ON FRONT PANEL OF DASH AND ON SIDE WHERE PASSENGER AIRBAG IS. DEALERSHIP TOLD ME I WOULD HAVE TO CONTACT NISSAN N.A. DUE TO VEHICLE PAST IT'S WARRANTY. CALLED NISSAN N.A., THEY SAID THEY WOULD CONTACT DEALERSHIP AND CALL ME BACK. DEC 29TH NISSAN CALLED BACK, RESPONSE " SORRY CAN'T DO ANYTHING VEHICLE OUT OF WARRANTY" AND THE ASST. SERVICE MGR. GAVE HER THE IMPRESSION NORMAL WEAR OR SUN DAMAGE CAUSED THE CRACKS. THIS WAS NOT A WARRANTY ISSUE NOR DID THE SERVICE MGR. GAVE ME THE IMPRESSION HE THOUGHT IT WAS SUN DAMAGE. I ASKED HER FOR A EMAIL ADDRESS SO I COULD SEND SOME PHOTO'S. SHE TOLD ME THERE WAS NOT AN EMAIL AVAILABLE FOR CONSUMERS," THE DEALERSHIP WAS THEIR EYES " NO PICTURES WERE EVEN TAKEN BY THE DEALERSHIP. NISSAN DID NOT WANT TO HELP OR ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM. ON FEB 10TH WFLA CONSUMER INVESTIGATOR DID A SEGMENT ON TOYOTA REPLACING CRACKING AND STICKY DASHBOARDS ON VARIOUS MODELS. WHEN THEY SHOWED THE VIDEO IT SHOWED A CUT IN THE DASHBOARD OVER THE STEERING WHEEL EXACTLY LIKE MINE. ALMOST A PHOTO COPY. YOU COULD TELL THE DASH IS MADE OUT OF THE SAME MATERIAL AS MINE. THE SEGMENT WENT ON TO SAY NISSAN AND FORD HAVE HAD THE SAME COMPLAINTS. NISSAN IS AWARE OF THIS! THESE CRACKS IN MY DASH ARE GETTING WORSE. ALONG WITH THE CRACKS THERE IS A PROTRUDING SQUARE WHERE THE PASSENGER AIRBAG IS. WHAT'S NEXT IS MY AIR BAG GOING TO DEPLOY OR MY DASH GOING TO START GETTING STICKY. ***REFER TO NHTSA COMPLAINT # 10650129 DATED 10-26-2014. ** NISSAN SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR FIXING THESE DASHBOARDS. THERE IS NO REASON A CONSUMER WAS DENIED AN EMAIL ADDRESS TO SEND PHOTOS SO THEY COULD SEE FOR THEMSELVES. NISSAN NEEDS TO SEE THESE PICTURES IF ANY THING TO SHOW WHO EVER MANUFACTURED THESE DASHBOARDS THE DEFECT. IF ANYONE ELSE IS HAVING THE SAME DASHBOARD ISSUES, PLEASE POST!! *TR
THE TELESCOPING FUNCTION ON MY STEERING COLUMN HAS STOPPED WORKING ON MY MURANO. I UNDERSTAND THERE IS A SERVICE BULLETIN OUT ON THIS SAME ISSUE (NTB-09-073), BUT DEALERSHIP REFUSES TO FIX IT. THE STEERING COLUMN IS NOW STUCK AT A HEIGHT WHERE IT BLOCKS MY VIEW OF THE SPEEDOMETER; I HAVE TO DUCK DOWN EVERY TIME I WANT TO CHECK HOW FAST I AM TRAVELING. OBVIOUSLY A SAFETY ISSUE, AND I UNDERSTAND THAT THIS IS A CHRONIC PROBLEM FOR MURANO'S AND WOULD HOPE THAT NISSAN WOULD STEP UP TO THE PLATE AND PROVIDE A FIX TO MAKE THEIR CARS SAFER. *TR
THE VEHICLES TIRE PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT REMAINS ILLUMINATED. I NOTICED THERE WAS A RECALL IN MANY STATES EXCLUDING CALIFORNIA. I LIVE IN CALIFORNIA, COULD MY VEHICLE OR VEHICLES IN MY STATE BE INCLUDED. IRONICALLY MY VEHICLE IS EXPERIENCING THE SAME SYMPTOMS LISTED IN THE RECALL. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN MURANO. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE SUNROOF SHATTERED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000.
DEAR SIR OR MADAM, IN 2009 I BOUGHT NEW NISSAN MURANO SL 2009 FROM MOSSY NISSAN DEALERSHIP IN HOUSTON, TEXAS. TO FINANCE MY PURCHASE, I ALSO BOUGHT EXTENDED CAR WARRANTY FOR 6 YEARS TOTAL (TO COVER ANOTHER 3 YEARS BEYOND 3 YEARS OF FACTORY WARRANTY). THIS EXTENDED WARRANTY (NISSAN SECURITY+ PLUS GOLD PREFERRED PACKAGE WITH >2,000 PARTS BEING PROTECTED) WAS ADVERTISED AS A BEST AVAILABLE OPTION ON THE MARKET. ALL THESE YEARS SINCE MY PURCHASE I TOOK VERY GOOD CARE OF MY CAR, RECORDS ARE AVAILABLE AT MOSSY NISSAN. ON 06NOV2014 MOSSY NISSAN SERVICE CENTER DIAGNOSED INTERNAL DEVICE FAILURE RESPONSIBLE FOR AIRBAGS DEPLOY AND INFORMED ME THAT, TO THEIR SURPRISE, THIS MODULE IS NOT COVERED BY MY CURRENT WARRANTY. THIS PART IS LISTED AS A CUSHION & ADJUSTER MODULE, PART # 873A2-1AV2A. READING FROM THE NISSAN TOOL SCANNER: ********DTC B1018 OCS SENSOR UNIT FAILURE******** ESTIMATED COSTS FOR REPLACEMENT WERE APPROXIMATED AT 3,500$ OUT OF POCKET. I HAVE CONTACTED NORTH AMERICA NISSAN (1-800-NISSAN1) AND CASE # [XXX] WAS FILED FOR INVESTIGATIONS. NORTH AMERICA NISSAN HAS CONTACTED ME BACK ON 17NOV2014 AND INFORMED ME THAT THEY CANNOT OFFER ANY HELP OR ASSISTANCE REGARDING REPLACEMENT. NA NISSAN ALSO REFUSED TO FINANCE AMOUNT OF 3,500$ OVER 6-12 MONTHS WHICH I AGREED TO PAY IN MONTHLY PAYMENTS. NISSAN SECURITY+ PLUS GOLD PREFERRED PACKAGE HAS >2,000 PARTS BEING PROTECTED INCLUDING THOSE FOR FUN AND ENTERTAINMENT (LIKE RADIO, CD PLAYER, EVEN ANTENNA ETC.) BUT NOT FOR THE MODULE RESPONSIBLE FOR LIFE-SAVING AIRBAGS DEPLOYMENT. I HAVE FOUND THIS UNACCEPTABLE. IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC, THE AIR CONDITIONER HAD THE SWEET SMELL OF MAPLE SYRUP AND A FEW MINUTES LATER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. WITHIN SECONDS, THE CAR STUTTERED EACH TIME I ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE. ONCE OUT OF TRAFFIC, I LOOKED AND SAW A LARGE AMOUNT OF COOLANT DRIPPING FROM THE CAR. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHO CONFIRMED COOLANT BUILT UP PRESSURE IN RADIATOR, HOSES AND TRANSMISSION. CVT TRANSMISSION IS FLOODED WITH COOLANT AND WATER, RADIATOR AND ALL HOSES WILL NEED REPLACEMENT. *TR
WAS DRIVING ALONG, AND HEARD A LOUD KNOCKING SOUND. THOUGHT IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION, SO I TOOK IT IN TO A DEALERSHIP, AND THEY SAID I HAD A CRACKED TRANSFER CASE. NISSAN EXTENDED THE WARRANTY FOR THERE TRANSMISSIONS, BUT NOT FOR THEIR THERE TRANSFER CASE. MY VEHICLE COULD HAVE SEIZED AT ANY MOMENT WHEN I WAS DRIVING. IT SOUNDS LIKE THERE ARE ALLOT OF NISSAN MURANOS THAT HAVE THIS SAME ISSUE. *TR
WAS DRIVING AND WENT TO STOP AT A LIGHT WHEN THE BRAKES WENT TO THE FLOOR. THEY WERE SOFT AND SPONGY. WAS UNABLE TO STOP AND WENT THROUGH THE LIGHT. I PARKED THE CAR AND TURNED IT OFF FOR ABOUT AN HOUR AND THE BRAKES SEEM TO WORK FINE. THE CAR WAS CHECKED OUT AND NO LEAKS WERE FOUND AND FLUID IS AT MAX. BRAKES ARE NEW. AFTER READING ONLINE I FOUND NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON THIS SAME ISSUE. I WAS JUST GLAD THERE WAS NOT TO MUCH TRAFFIC AND THAT MY BABY AND I DIDN'T GET IN AN ACCIDENT. HAS ANYTHING BEEN REPORTED ON THIS? *TR
AIR BAGS LIGHT KEEP STAY ON, CALL NISSAN MANUFACTURER AND THEY WON'T DO THE RECALL FOR THE AIR BAG. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT BOTH REAR DOORS AND THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR FAILED TO OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT HAD TO ENTER THE VEHICLE FROM THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR TO OPEN THE OTHER DOORS. THE FAILURE RECURRED CONTINUOUSLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 67,000.
WHILE DRIVING ON A BUMPY GRAVEL ROAD I TRIED TO APPLY THE BRAKES AND THERE WAS ALMOST NO BRAKE PRESSURE AVAILABLE. PEDAL COULD BE PUSHED TO THE FLOOR. STOPPING DISTANCE WAS GREATLY INCREASED AND HAD THERE BEEN TRAFFIC AT THE INTERSECTION IT COULD HAVE RESULTED IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. I PUMPED THE BRAKES AND GOT THE VEHICLE TO A LEVEL SPOT ON THE ROAD AND CHECK BRAKE FLUID LEVEL. IT WAS FINE. I DID NOT NOTICE ANY LEAKS. BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS ARE WITHIN ACCEPTABLE LIMITS (PASSED STATE INSPECTION ONE MONTH AGO). MANAGED TO BUILD UP PRESSURE BY PUMPING BRAKES AND GOT VEHICLE HOME. NISSAN DEALER CANNOT FIND ISSUE. I SUSPECT ABS SYSTEM TRIGGERED BY BUMPY GRAVEL ROAD. VERY DANGEROUS! NO WARNING LIGHTS ON DASH AT TIME. THIS NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED. *TR
THE TILT STEERING MOTOR HAS STOPPED WORKING. THE IN AND OUT MOTOR WENT OUT SHORTLY AFTER WE PURCHASED THIS PRE-OWNED VEHICLE IN 2012. THEN, A FEW WEEKS AGO, THE TILT MECHANISM SPONTANEOUSLY TILTED TO THE FARTHEST DOWN POSITION POSSIBLE. WE THEN HAD TO HOLD THE CONTROL UP AS WELL AS APPLY SIGNIFICANT PRESSURE UPWARDS TO GET THE STEERING WHEEL TO RETURN TO THE DESIRED POSITION. LUCKILY, WE WERE NOT DRIVING AT THE TIME OF THIS INCIDENT, HOWEVER I HAVE READ IN SOME DISCUSSION THREADS REGARDING THIS ISSUE THAT SOME DRIVERS HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS ISSUE WHILE DRIVING. NOW THE TILT MECHANISM DOES NOT WORK ALL TOGETHER (IN, OUT, UP OR DOWN). ONE YEAR LATER THE SAME TWO PARTS FAILED AND WERE REPLACED. MY 2009 MURANO HAS HAD AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. MY PASSENGER AIRBAG SHUTS OFF AND SHUTS DOWN THE WHOLE AIRBAG SYSTEM IN MY CAR. THE DEALERSHIP HAS EXPLAINED TO ME THAT WHEN THE AIRBAG LIGHTS ARE FLASHING THAT I HAVE NO AIRBAG PROTECTION. I HAVE BROUGHT MY VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER A COUPLE OF TIMES TO HAVE THEM LOOK AT IT. THEY SAID THAT THEY WERE ABLE TO TURN OFF THE FLASHING AIRBAG LIGHT EACH TIME BUT THEY SAID THAT THEY WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO DO IT ANYMORE. THEY TOLD ME THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE PASSENGER SEAT SENSOR AND PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. IT DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THAT THERE IS SOMEONE SITTING IN THE SEAT AND DOES NOT ACTIVATE. THEY SAID THAT I WOULD NEED TO REPLACE BOTH AT A COST OF $5000 AND THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE SENSOR AND THE AIRBAG. INSTEAD, THEY QUOTED ME A PRICE OF OVER $3,000 AND NO GUARANTEE THAT THE REPAIR WILL EVEN FIX THE PROBLEM. NOT ONLY FOR THAT REASON IS IT A SAFETY HAZARD BUT JUST BECAUSE A FIRE HASN'T OCCURRED YET BECAUSE OF THIS ELECTRICAL ISSUE DOESN'T MEAN THAT ONE WILL NOT HAPPEN. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN MURANO. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL EXTENDED TO THE FLOORBOARD WHEN ATTEMPTING TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO EXAMINED THE BRAKES AND REPLACED THE BRAKE PADS, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A COMPUTER FAILURE CAUSED THE BRAKES TO FAIL. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE WAS REMEDIED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
THE AUTOMATED STEERING COLUMN TILT CEASED TO OPERATE. DEALER SAID THE INSTALLATION OF A NEW TILT MOTOR WAS REQUIRED. COST TO INSTALL NEW TILT MOTOR, INCLUDING LABOR AND TAX, WAS $555.36. I PAID THIS AMOUNT TO DEALER FOR REPLACEMENT. NISSAN MOTOR COMPANY HAS A PROBLEM WHEN AN AUTOMATED MECHANISM, AS THIS ON 5 YEAR OLD CAR, FAILS.
FRONT LEFT DRIVER SIDE DOOR CANNOT BE OPENED FROM THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE TRAPPING ME, THE DRIVER, INSIDE THE VEHICLE. A SIMILAR PROBLEM OCCURRED LAST YEAR, 04/09/2013 @ 91,393 MILES, WITH THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR. AGAIN, TRAPPING THE PASSENGER INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THESE FAULTY MANUFACTURED PARTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED: 80501-1AA0A & 80500-1AA0A (LOCK & REMOTE C).
NEW VEHICLE WAS BOUGHT SEPTEMBER 2009. ON 04/26/2011, EAST CHARLOTTE NISSAN'S MECHANICS CHANGED TRANSFER CASE BECAUSE LEAKING. VEHICLE HAD 29,505 MILES. ON MARCH 24, 2014, ECN'S ASSISTANT SERVICE MANAGER SAID IT IS NECESSARY TO CHANGE TRANSFER CASE AND GASKET BECAUSE LEAKING. VEHICLE HAD APROX 70,000 MILES. AFTER OWNER REQUESTED HELP TO NC CONSUMER PROTECTION, ECN'S GENERAL MANAGER REPLIED NEITHER OF THOSE LEAKS WOULD BE CONSIDERED ABNORMAL SINCE REPAIR WAS NEARLY THREE YEARS AND VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN 50,000 MILES. ALSO, HE STATES THAT OWNER BECAUSE HIS FINANCIAL SITUATION WANTS TO GET VEHICLE FIXED AT NO COST AND THAT IS DISHONEST AND UNETHICAL. OWNER NEVER TRIED TO GET A FREE REPAIR. HE ONLY WOULD LIKE TO KNOW: WHY TRANSFER CASE AND GASKET SHOULD BE CHANGED EVERY THREE YEARS BECAUSE LEAKING? HOWEVER, THE FIRST TIME THEY WERE CHANGED HAPPENED AFTER ONE YEAR AND SEVEN MONTHS AND WITH LESS THAN 30,000 MILES. *JS
