THE WARNING LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON SAYING THE BACK HATCH IS OPEN WHICH MAKES MY AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKS CONSTANTLY OPEN AND CLOSE. I TOOK IT TO NISSAN AND THEY SAY THE BACK HATCH LATCH ASSEMBLY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BATTERY OF HER VEHICLE HAD TO BE REPLACED 3 TIMES AND THE AIR BAG AND TPMS WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE SENSORS WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 700. *TR
THE KEYLESS REMOTE APPEARS TO LOCK THE DOORS AND SET THE SECURITY SYSTEM. THE DOOR HANDLE WAS PULLED ALLOWING ENTRY INTO THE CAR WHILE IT WAS THOUGHT TO BE LOCKED. THE ALARM SOUNDS BUT THE CAR CAN BE ACCESSED WHEN IT APPEARS AND SOUNDS AS IF IT IS PROPERLY LOCKED. ONLY THE DRIVERS DOOR LOCKS. THE DOOR CAN BE OPENED WHILE IN MOTION FROM THE INSIDE. *TR
WHEN VEHICLE IS ACCELERATED FROM A STOP, LOUD THUMP IS FELT AND HEARD FROM FLOORBOARD. NISSAN DEALER REFUSED TO COVER REPLACEMENT OF CRACKED FRONT END MOTOR MOUNTS. OTHER MURANO OWNERS REPORT THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS IS AN OBVIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. *TR
SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING OUR 2009 NISSAN MURANO IN SEPT 2012 A LOUD NOISE WAS HEARD AT TIMES IN THE FLOOR BOARD...IT WAS DISCOVERED TO BE A BROKEN MOTOR MOUNT...THIS WAS REPLACED UNDER 30 DAY WARRANTY FROM PLACE OF PURCHASE. THE SUNROOF COVER ALSO WAS DEFECTIVE AS IT WOULD NOT OPEN COMPLETELY AT TIMES AND ALSO REQUIRED REPLACING. SINCE THIS TIME IN 2013 THE WIPERS DO NOT WORK PROPERLY AT ALL TIMES...THIS HAS NOT BEEN RECREATED FOR A TECH TO INSPECT....SOMETIMES THEY DO NOT GO AS FAST AS SHOULD IF HEAVY RAIN AND OTHER TIMES GO TOO FAST IF BARELY DRIZZLING, THIS IS ON THE INTERMITTENT FUNCTION. FEBRUARY 2014 WAS DUE TO TAKE IN FOR ROUTINE OIL CHANGE THAT DAY AND SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT CAME ON THAT MORNING...WAS ADVISED NEEDS NEW CATALYTIC CONVERTER, WAS AT 85K, MANF. WARRANTY WENT OUT AT 80K, EXTENDED WARRANTY WE PURCHASED AND PAID EXTRA FOR WAS TO COVER UP TO 150K; HOWEVER, DOES NOT COVER THIS PART. NISSAN SAYS NOTHING ON THEM, FUNNY THEY ARE THE ONES WHO MADE THE VEHICLE, AND REGARDLESS OF THIS BEING A USED VEHICLE (WE ARE THE SECOND OWNER) THIS IS NOT SOMETHING YOU CAN TELL IN ADVANCE IS GOING OUT...WE HAVE NOT HAD ANY NOISE PRIOR AND THIS WAS FIRST TIME LIGHT CAME ON. THIS IS VERY COSTLY AND SOMETHING THAT HAS TO BE FIXED IN ORDER TO PASS INSPECTION OR I WILL NOT HAVE A VEHICLE TO DRIVE. *TR
I OWN A 2009 NISSAN MURANO S MODEL. MY DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR POWER LOCK JAMMED 3 DAYS AGO FOR NO APPARENT REASON WHATSOEVER. I WENT TO WORK AND WHEN I CAME OUT THE KEYLESS ENTRY KEY DID NOT UNLOCK THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR. ALL OTHER DOORS WERE FINE. I BROUGHT IT THE DEALER ON MONDAY WHO COULD NOT GET THE DOOR UNLOCKED AND THEN NOTIFIED ME THAT THE DOOR PANEL ACCESS WAS IN THE PART OF THE CAR INACCESSIBLE BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT GET THE DOOR OPENED AT ALL. I WAS ASKED TO BRING THE CAR BACK TO NISSAN. I WILL UPDATE THIS COMPLAINT AT THAT TIME. RIGHT NOW THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE, NOT TO MENTION THE INCONVENIENCE TO ME AS A CUSTOMER CLIMBING OVER THE CENTER CONSOLE. *TR

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED OF RECALL NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 08V521000 (AIR BAG). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. PROBLEM WITH THE TILT AND TELESCOPE OF THE STEERING COLUMN. WHEN TURNING ON THE CAR, GEARS SEEM TO BE GRINDING AND THE AUTOMATIC FEATURE NO LONGER WORKS. WHEEL DOES NOT RETURN TO THE PRE-SET LOCATION. ALSO THE AUTO SEAT FEATURE DOES NOT RETURN TO THE PRE-SET LOCATION. THERE'S A BIG PROBLEM WITH THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IN THE 2009 NISSAN MURANO. A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO, IT COST ME OVER $500 TO GET THE REAR HATCH DOOR FIXED WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT LOCKED SHUT. OF COURSE, THERE'S NO WAY TO UNLOCK THIS MANUALLY FROM INSIDE THE VEHICLE AND THIS COULD BE A POTENTIAL SAFETY HAZARD. *TR
I WAS DRIVING THIS CAR AND IT FEELS LIKE IT IS CHOKING OR RUNNING OUT OF GAS ( WHEN IT HAS GAS IN THE TANK) AND ENGINE STOPS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD OR FREEWAY AND STEERING WHEEL BECOMES VERY HARD. WHEN IT HAPPENED FIRST I TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALER SHIPR (TROPHY NISSAN MESQUITE TX) THEY SAID THE MY AIR FLOW METER AND SENSOR WAS BAD THEY CHANGED IT AND CHARGED ME $700.00 I TOOK THE CAR HOME AFTER 3-4 DAYS SAME PROBLEM AGAIN VEHICLE ENGINE STOP WHILE DRIVING ON THE ROAD. I TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO TROPHY NISSAN AND THEY KEPT VEHICLE FOR ABOUT 4 DAYS AND TOLD ME THAT THEY CAN NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM . AGAIN I TOOK THE VEHICLE WITH ME AND NEXT DAY I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM IT FEELS LIKE CHOKING AND ENGINE STOPS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. WE OWNS A 2009 NISSAN MURANO. WHILE STARTING THE CAR, WE NOTICED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE FAILED TO DISPLAY AN ACCURATE FUEL LEVEL READING. THE MALFUNCTION OCCURRED WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED OR IN MOTION OR WHEN AC WAS ON PRIOR TO STARTING THE CAR. AFTER THIS ISSUE THE SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT ILLUMINATED ALSO. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO STATED TO US THAT FUEL LEVEL SENSORS WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE AUTHORIZED DEALER MENTIONED OTHER CARS HAVE HAD SAME PROBLEM AND THIS MODEL MIGHT BE COVERED UNDER A RECALL BUT IT WAS NOT BASED ON THE VIN NUMBER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE DEALER WILL CHARGE $450 TO REPAIR THE ISSUE WHICH IS AN ISSUE FOR OTHER NISSAN CARS. WE ARE PAYING THE DEALER TO FIX THE ISSUE BUT THIS SHOULD NOT BE CHARGED TO CUSTOMER IF THE ISSUE IS WITH OTHER NISSAN CARS. *JB
I PURCHASED MY MURANO 5 YEARS AGO AND I'VE HAD A FEW ISSUES BUT BEEN VERY HAPPY WITH PURCHASE OTHER THAN 2 THINGS! 1 THE WHEEL VALVES HAVE BEEN A COMMON ISSUE IN ON MY THIRD SET OF TIRES BUT I'M CONSTANTLY HAVING TO AIR THEM DUE TO THE VALVE IN SIDE THE TIRE! MINE ISN'T LISTED UNDER RECALL IT THERE IS A RECALL ON OTHER NISSAN WITH SAME ISSUE. THE SECOND MY STEREO LOCKED UP CDS AND THE WARRANTY DIDN'T COVER THIS WAS A WEEK AFTER PURCHASE THAT WAS. I WAS DRIVING AT ABOUT 25-30 MPH AND THE ENGINE JUST SHUT DOWN.. NO WARNINGS NO LIGHTS JUST STOPPED IN DRIVE.. I THEN TRIED TO START IT PUTTING IT IN PARK AND COULD NOT TRIED ABOUT 25 MIN. I FINALLY GOT IT STARTED BY PUTTING MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND PUSHING THE START BUTTON AND THEN QUICKLY HITTING THE GAS, ONCE GETTING IT STARTED I PULLED IT OVER OFF THE ROAD AND LET IT IDLE. I WAS ABLE TO GET IT HOME WITH OUT ANYMORE PROBLEMS.. I THEN TOOK IT TOO MY NISSAN DEALER AND THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG COMPUTER DID NOT READ ANY ERRORS.. I ONLY HAVE 25000 MILES ON THE CAR AND IS LESS THEN 3 YEARS OLD AND ALWAYS SERVICED. *TT

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE LOCK ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 137,785.
VEHICLE WAS IN SHOP FOR MAJOR (60K) MAINTENANCE. INSPECTIONS SHOWED SOME LEAKAGE OF COOLANT FROM TOP OF ENGINE, DIAGNOSIS CONFIRMED AS LEAKING HEAD GASKETS. HAVE PURSUED COMPLAINTS WITH NISSAN DEALER AND NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS. THIS IS A MAJOR DEFECT REQUIRING EXPENSIVE REPAIR IF NOT CORRECTED COULD LEAD TO ENGINE OVERHEATING AND FAILURE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE HAD A KEYLESS LOCK AND THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE WOULD NOT LOCK WITH THE REMOTE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THE ACTUATOR FAILED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
PASSENGER DOOR WON'T OPEN. *TR
DASHBOARD AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT BEGAN FLASHING. SUBSEQUENT TRIP TO THE DEALER DIAGNOSED A DEFECTIVE PASSENGER SEAT SENSOR, WHICH IS BUILT IN TO THE SEAT BOTTOM, SO THE ENTIRE UNIT MUST BE REPLACED. ALTHOUGH I HAD PURCHASED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY, THAT PART WAS NOT COVERED AND THE SEAT BOTTOM MUST BE REPLACED AS IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE. FORWARDED A REQUEST FOR ASSISTANCE TO NISSAN USA, AND THE JURY IS STILL OUT ON THAT MOVE. THERE HAVE BEEN VERY FEW PASSENGERS IN THAT AUTOMOBILE, WITH THE GREAT MAJORITY OF THE MILES ON THE CAR BEING DRIVER ONLY MILES. *KB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ADJUST THE STEERING WHEEL, IT BECAME STUCK IN THE UP POSITION AND COULD NOT BE LOWERED. SINCE THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO LOWER THE STEERING WHEEL IT WAS DIFFICULT TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THE TILT MOTOR FOR THE STEERING WHEEL WAS DEFECTIVE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
HEAD GASKET LEAKING. *TR
THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD. THE NUT HOLDING THE TPMS SENSOR/TIRE FILL VALVE FAILED CATASTROPHICALLY WITH 2 LONGITUDINAL CRACKS WHILE TRAVELING 70 MPH ON INTERSTATE 5 NEAR VALENCIA, CALIFORNIA. TIRE PRESSURE RELEASED SUDDENLY (NO PREVIOUS WARNING BY THE TPMS SYSTEM). THE CAR PULLED STRONGLY TO THE LEFT (FAILURE WAS IN THE FRONT LEFT TIRE). REGAINED CONTROL OF THE CAR AND PULLED OFF TO SHOULDER. NUT SHOWS EVIDENCE OF CORROSION AND DIRT IN ONE OF THE TWO CRACKS. TIRE WAS UNDAMAGED BY ANY ROAD HAZARD, ONLY THE TPMS SENSOR/FILL VALVE WAS LOOSE IN THE WHEEL, AND THE NUT CAME APART WHEN HAND INSPECTING THE VALVE. A NISSAN SERVICE BULLETIN EXISTS FOR CORRODED NUTS IN EASTERN STATES WHERE SALT IS USED ON ROADS, HOWEVER THIS VEHICLE HAS STRICTLY BEEN IN CALIFORNIA, WITH LESS THAN 10 TRIPS TO SKI AREAS IN CALIFORNIA, WHICH DOES NOT USE SALT ON ITS ROADS. TIRE AND NUT ARE AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION. THIS APPEARS TO BE A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUE AS CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE IS AT RISK DUE TO THE SUDDEN NATURE OF THE TIRE PRESSURE LOSS AND DEFLATION. *TR
ON APPROX. 10 JAN 2012 THE AIRBAG LIGHT ON THE DASH BEGAN FLASHING. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH JOHN LEE NISSAN TO HAVE IT CHECKED AND SERVICED. AFTER RESEARCHING THE CODES THE DEALER DETERMINED THE AIR BAG SENSOR IN THE PASSENGER SEAT CUSHION FAILED. THE SENSOR IS BUILT INTO THE SEAT CUSHION THEREFORE REQUIRING A NEW SEAT. THE VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY SO I OPENED A CASE WITH NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS (NCA). FILE # 7357731. THE SERVICE MANGER AT JOHN LEE NISSAN SENT HIS REPORT TO NCA WITH HIS DETERMINATION THAT GIVEN THE FAILURE IS A DIRECT RESULT OF ENGINEERING AND A SAFETY CONCERN FOR THE PUBLIC, NCA SHOULD COVER THE COST OF REPAIRS. NISSAN HAS HAD VIN SPECIFIC RECALLS FOR SEAT-SEATBELT-AIRBAG COMPONENTS IN 2009. SEE RECALL INFORMATION LISTED BELOW. I POINTED OUT TO THE DEALER AND TO NCA THE LISTED RECALL BUT THEY INFORMED ME IT DID NOT INCLUDE MY VIN. AFTER NUMEROUS CONVERSATIONS WITH [XXX]AT NCA HE ALSO FELT THE REPAIR SHOULD BE COVERED BY NISSAN. HE WAS NOT ABLE TO MAKE A DECISION DUE TO THE CASE BEING ELEVATED TO A HIGHER TEAR WITHIN NCA. NCA HAS DENIED THE CLAIM. A VARISTOR IN THE OCS CONTROL UNIT LOCATED IN THE PASSENGER SEAT CUSHION MAY HAVE BEEN MANUFACTURED OUT OF SPECIFICATION. UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS, THIS COULD CAUSE AN INTERRUPTION OF SIGNAL BETWEEN THE OCS AND THE AIR BAG CONTROL UNIT (ACU). THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE MADE A LOT OF NOISE AND HAD TO CONSTANTLY HAVE TO HAVE THE POWER STEERING FLUID REPLACED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE RACK AND PINION UNIT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 94,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 101,000. ALTERNATOR WENT OUT AND SENT VEHICLE INTO "FAIL SAFE" MODE AND STOPPED THE VEHICLE. MY WIFE WAS COMING ON FROM WORK AND IT PUT HER IN THE MIDDLE OF A BAD NEIGHBORHOOD. THIS IS THE SAME THING WITH THE MURANO FROM THE 2005 RECALLS. IT IS STILL HAPPENING AND NISSAN IS DOING NOTHING FOR THE NEWER VEHICLES. *TR

10 MINUTES AFTER VEHICLE WAS PARKED, WITH DOORS LOCKED AND WINDOWS ROLLED UP, MY WIFE WAS ALERTED BY A PASSERBY THAT HER CAR WAS ON FIRE. FIRE STARTED IN THE FORWARD PASSENGER COMPARTMENT AND SPREAD THRU THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT VERY RAPIDLY. VEHICLE WAS A TOTAL LOSS. VEHICLE HAD NO AFTERMARKET WORK AND HAD NOT BEEN INVOLVED IN ANY ACCIDENTS. ALL SERVICE WORK WAS PERFORMED BY A CERTIFIED NISSAN DEALER ON SCHEDULE.PROGRESSIVE INSURANCE INVESTIGATED AND FOUND OWNER NOT TO BE AT FAULT (CLAIM #[XXX] WAS PAID). I HAVE REQUESTED NISSANS INTERNAL INVESTIGATION ROOT CAUSE ANALYSIS REPORT TO DETERMINE CAUSE OF FIRE, BUT THEY WILL NOT RELEASE THE INFORMATION TO ME. I FEEL THEY HAVE SOMETHING TO HIDE . NISSAN POC[XXX] SHE WOULD NOT PASS ME UP THE CHAIN AT NISSAN SO THAT I COULD SPEAK TO SOMEONE OTHER THAN HER. ALTHOUGH THE DEALERSHIP HAD DONE MULTIPLE MULTI-POINT INSPECTIONS THIS MONTH, THEY REPORTED THAT THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE OF ANY PENDING FAILURE OF THE SERPENTINE BELT WHEN THEY DID THE INSPECTIONS. IN ADDITION, ON AUGUST 8, 2011, THE TECHNICIAN FOUND A "PASS SIDE RACK AND PINION BOOT FILLING UP WITH FLUID FROM BAD SEAL IN POWER STEERING RACK," ACCORDING TO THE INVOICE. NISSAN FOUND A LEAK IN THE POWER STEERING HIGH PRESSURE LINE. NISSAN REPAIRED THE PROBLEM BY REPLACING THE HIGH PRESSURE POWER LINE AND POWER STEERING RACK. THEY ALSO BLED THE POWER STEERING FLUID SYSTEM AND PERFORMED A FRONT END ALIGNMENT, ACCORDING TO THE INVOICE. I DO NOT THINK THE 2009 NISSAN MURANO IS SAFE TO DRIVE BECAUSE I WAS NEARLY KILLED OR BADLY INJURED MULTIPLE TIMES. THEY NEED TO RECALL THE VEHICLE SINCE THEY'VE ATTEMPTED TO CORRECT ISSUES WITH THE STEERING WHEEL ON MULTIPLE TIMES WITH NO AVAIL. ON TUESDAY, AUGUST 2, 2011, I WAS DRIVING ON A MAJOR EXPRESSWAY. WHILE TRYING TO EXIT FROM THE EXPRESSWAY, THE STEERING WHEEL ON MY 2009 NISSAN MURANO LOCKED, MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME TO TURN IT. I WAS ALMOST HIT BY AN 18-WHEEL SEMI-TRAILER TRUCK. THE INCIDENT RESULTED IN BLACK SKID/TIRE MARKS ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD BY MY CAR AND THE TRUCK THAT WAS TRYING TO AVOID FROM HITTING ME. NISSAN'S CONTRACTED TOWING SERVICE HAD TO TOW MY VEHICLE INTO NISSAN'S SHOP SINCE THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE DRIVEN SAFELY AFTER THE INCIDENT. ON AUGUST 3, THE SERVICE ADVISOR CALLED TO SAY THAT THE PROBLEM WITH THE STEERING WHEEL HAD BEEN FIXED. HE INDICATED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD NOT TURN BECAUSE OF A FAULTY SERPENTINE BELT. HE SAID THE SERPENTINE BELT WAS REPLACED, THAT THEY HAD TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE BEFORE ITS RELEASE TO ME, AND THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOW SAFE TO DRIVE. IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT MY NISSAN HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN IN NISSAN'S SHOP BARELY A WEEK BEFORE THE AUGUST 2ND INCIDENT, ON JULY 21ST, FOR OTHER DEFECT ISSUES WHICH WERE COVERED BY WARRANTY. WHEN THE CAR WAS IN THE SHOP FOR THE JULY REPAIRS, THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVES HAD INDICATED THAT THEY HAD DONE A FULL INSPECTION OF THE VEHICLE. WHAT IS INTERESTING TO ME IS THAT DURING THE FULL INSPECTION, NISSAN DID NOT DISCOVER ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE SERPENTINE BELT THEN. IF THE BELT WERE WEARING AWAY, NISSAN SHOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO DISCOVER AND DISCLOSE THE WEAR AND TEAR DURING THE FULL INSPECTION IN LATE JULY. EVEN AFTER THE SERPENTINE BELT WAS REPLACED ON AUGUST 3, 2011, THE STEERING WHEEL IS STILL DIFFICULT TO STEER. I'M NOT SURE WHETHER THIS IS A MANUFACTURING/DESIGN DEFECT, BUT I THINK THIS SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO CAREFULLY SINCE THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. HAD TO PROACTIVELY CALL THEM 10-20 TIMES. 1ST PERSON COULDN'T CONVERSE IN ENGLISH - GAVE ME FALSE INFORMATION. SUPERVISOR WAS CONSTANTLY UNAVAILABLE AND NEVER RETURNED CALLS. ULTIMATELY THEY SAID THEY DIDN'T HAVE SIMILAR REPORTS. I DON'T BELIEVE THEM. TIRE COMPANY SAID SAW THIS PROBLEM MANY TIMES - SAYS THE TIRE SENSOR CORRODED AND FELL INTO THE TIRE WHICH SPRANG THE LEAK. FOUND NO OTHER DAMAGE TO TIRE. COULD HAVE DIED ON THAT HIGHWAY. WE OWN A 2009 NISSAN MURANO SL BOUGHT NEW AND THE HEAD GASKET CRACKED LEAKING FLUIDS AND EMITTING A STRONG SMELL OF COOLANT. WE HAVE HAD A FEW UNPLEASANT REPAIRS, NEW BRAKES AT 30,000, NEW TIRES AT 32,000 AND NOW AT ONLY 57,000 MILES CRACKED HEAD GASKETS. WE HAVE HAD ALL THE RECOMMEND SERVICES PERFORMED. I HAVE CONTACTED TWO DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS AFTER HAVING LEARNED THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON FAILURE ON MULTIPLE YEAR MODELS OF NISSANS. BOTH DEALERS EXPLAINED THERE WAS NO RECALL AND THAT THE REPAIRS WOULD LIKELY RUN $1200 TO $1800 TO FIX ALL FOUR DOORS. LIVING IN THE HOUSTON AREA AND HAVING A GRANDCHILD, THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION. NISSAN SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO RECALL THE VEHICLES SUFFERING FROM THIS DEFECT. SEVERAL WEEKS AGO (JULY 2010) DOOR ACTUATOR ON 2009 NISSAN MURANO STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS. DOOR LOCK IS INTERMITTENT. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY PROBLEM. *TR
