Passenger seat airbag code keeps flashing on with B1018 code present. Read that this is a common issue with Nissan vehicles and that’s it’s possible there is a recall.
This car does not have the clips and I can’t get the base secure for the infant car seat!
Thumping from the rear, took the car in and was told rear shocks and sway bar needed replaced. When I took the car in for service, I was told the rear sub frame had rusted through and the vehicle should not be driven. I was told that part was on a national backorder, so for now one could not be ordered to fix the car. With the backorder, the mechanic thought there might be a recall, which brought me to this site. This car has been well taken care of and ran through the carwash at least once a week.
My car has a rolling type noise in the rear, sounds like it's on both sides. It is in the repair shop now, with possible subframe damage.
The backup camera only works at night and even then it is grainy. During the day I can only see a green screen with the yellow and red guidelines. But not what is actually behind my vehicle. This is very dangerous and makes backing this 2009 Nissan Murano SUV difficult. It's a large vehicle with blind spots. The main reason I bought the car was because it has a backup camera installed. I have seen blogs with same complaint. Nissan offers no help or solution. Have been told I would have to buy a whole new camera and dash navigation screen. Very expensive.
Got car on June 15 after 3:30. Five hours later the car would not reverse or drive forward. Sound like gears would not shift. And the car was also dropped of to me with no antifreeze. I found codes: P1700, P0868, P1778, P0746 and Top Motors who I bought the car from towed the car to fix it but has not told me what was wrong with the car. I have not heard from them and I missed one and a half day of work. They gave me a 6 month warranty but it should have been 2 year warranty. They said it will take at least a week to get it back to me. I have been without my car for 5 days. The car was on Carfax website. I would like a 2 year Warranty and half of the money back of what I paid for the car.
The contact's daughter owns a 2009 Nissan Murano. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the air bag warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact's daughter called a dealer who informed her that there were no recalls on the vehicle and that an extensive repair would have to be performed on the vehicle. The contact then called the manufacturer who informed him that there were no recalls or warranties on the vehicle. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.

THE PROBLEM FIRST APPEARED WHEN THE CAR PULLED SHARPLEY TO THE LEFT AND ALMOST CRASHED. WE HAVE OWNED THE CAR FOR 18 MONTHS
THE TIRE SENSOR LIGHT HAS BEEN ON SINCE I PURCHASED THE CAR. I SEE THERE ARE ISSUES WITH OTHER VEHICLES WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. I ASSUMED IT WAS A BAD TIRE AND HAD THEM REPLACED AND BALANCED AND THE LIGHT AND THE TIRE MAINTENANCE LIGHT STILL COMES ON. WHAT DO I DO?
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESPOND. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AT A NEARBY PARKING LOT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED THREE TIMES. AFTER THE THIRD FAILURE, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO HUBLER NISSAN (8435 US-31, INDIANAPOLIS, IN 46227, (317) 888-9227) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ALTERNATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 169,000.
RIGHT REAR SUB FRAME RUSTED THROUGH.
THE VEHICLE HAD CATASTROPHIC TRANSMISSION FAILURE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE HAS ALL REGULAR MAINTENANCE AND LESS THAN 60,000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. WE HAD TO MAKE EVASIVE MANEUVERS TO AVOID BEING IN A COLLISION.
AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT ON DASH BEGAN FLASHING SPONTANEOUSLY AT APPROXIMATELY 92,925 MILES. OTHER 2009 NISSAN MURANOS WITH A DIFFERENT V.I.N. HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR SAME ISSUE BUT NOT MINE.
TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT HAS BEEN ON SINCE I GOT THE CAR. TIRE PRESSURE IS WHAT IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE. I TOOK IT TO NISSAN THEY SAID IS A SENSOR. I SEEN PREVIOUS RECALL FOR THIS EXACT THING. WHEN I PUT MY VIN # IN IT DOESN'T HAVE IT.
ON 2/19/21 I WAS DRIVING MY 2009 MURANO ON A WINDY MORNING DOWN I-90 (ISSAQUAH) ON AT AROUND 65MPH IN THE SLOW LANE, AND MY CLOSED SUNROOF GLASS DISENGAGED AND BLEW OFF THE CAR, LUCKILY NO ONE WAS BEHIND ME AT THE TIME, ELSE IT COULD HAVE BEEN CATASTROPHIC. I THINK THIS SHOULD BE CAUSE FOR A RECALL, OR AT LEAST REPLACEMENT BY NISSAN CORP. THERE WAS NO INDICATION OF AN ISSUE, AND WE'VE OWNED THE VEHICLE FOR ABOUT 8 YEARS. WHEN TRAVELING DOWN THE ROAD YOU CAN HEAR A VERY AUDIBLE SQUEAK AND CLUNK COMING FROM THE PASSENGER REAR OF THE VEHICLE. AFTER ARRIVING HOME I PULLED INTO THE GARAGE TO DETERMINE THE LOCATION OF THE NOISE, I PLACED A JACK UNDER THE REAR DOOR ON THE PINCH WELD AND RAISE THE WHEEL OFF THE GROUND AND REMOVED THE TIRE. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION I NOTICED THE THE RIGHT REAR SUBFRAME WHICH CONNECTS TO THE REAR FRAME OF THE VEHICLE WAS COMPLETELY RUSTED FROM TOP TO BOTTOM WITH ONLY A FRACTION OF THE METAL REMAINING AROUND THE BUSHING. THE DRIVER SIDE REAR SUBFRAME CONNECTION IS ALSO RUSTED FROM TOP TO BOTTOM, THE SUBFRAME ON THE DRIVER IS CONTACTING ABOUT 90 PERCENT OF THE BUSHING THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE SUBFRAME IS CONTACTING ABOUT 10 PERCENT OF THE BUSHING. THE RUST ON THE REST OF THE VEHICLE FRAME AND FRONT SUBFRAME IS SLIGHTLY RUSTED. MY VEHICLE IS 2009 NISSAN MURANO WITH 160,000 MILES. THIS IS MY MAIN VEHICLE FOR TRANSPORTATION FOR MY KIDS AND FAMILY. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN KNOWN TO NISSAN AS MANY PEOPLE HAVE NOTIFIED NISSAN OF THIS MANUFACTURING ISSUE. THIS HAD BEEN AN ISSUE ON THE 2006 NISSAN ALTIMA IN WHICH NISSAN ISSUED A RECALL FOR THE REAR SUBFRAME RUSTING WHICH IS THE SAME ISSUE THIS AND MANY OTHER NISSAN MURANO OWNERS ARE HAVING BUT NISSAN HAS NOT YET ISSUED A RECALL
DRIVER SIDE DOOR REMAINS LOCKED, AND CAN ONLY BE OPENED IF PROPER FORCE IS APPLIED TO THE LOCK AND THE INTERIOR DOOR LATCH IS USED.
MY VEHICLE INSPECTION REPORT ON 01/04/2021 RECALL ADVISORY STATED "YOUR VEHICLE HAS ONE OR MORE RECALLS". I FOLLOWED ALL INSTRUCTIONS AND FOUND THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH MY NC VALVE.
As with the current Nissan recall the car just shutoff. On two separate occasions, one at highway speed on a high speed heavy traffic road and once of a neighborhood road. Both times spontaneously and without any warning or trouble lights or indications of a problem. Vehicles was towed and serviced at a Nissan dealership.. Both incidents were extremely dangerous one to get to shoulder in high speed traffic and to exit vehicle next to traffic and the other at night in a dark neighborhood. Dealer was without explanation on cause so we dont know if the problem is fixed or not. Prior request #602941
TOOK IN MY VEHICLE THIS MORNING TO GET 4 RECALLS FIXED, AND DEALERSHIP STATED THEY COULD ONLY FIX ONE OF THE 4 ISSUES. SPOKE TO A REPRESENTATIVE AND SHE STATED THE ISSUES FOR THE MODEL OF THE SUV WERE NOT INCLUDED IN THE VIN NUMBER, THEREFORE THE DEALERSHIP COULDN'T ASSIST WITH ALL 4 ISSUES. THE LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD OF THE SUV ARE ON AND ALL PERTAIN TO THE 4 ISSUES NOT INCLUDED IN THE VIN. HOW CAN I GET THESE INCLUDED IN THE VIN NUMBER SO THE DEALERSHIP CAN FIX THE ISSUES? I WAS DRIVING IN CITY HEIGHTS ON 43 AND UNIVERSITY WHEN MY 09 URANO JUST DIED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION . IT WAS NIGHT TIME I WAS BY MYSELF AND THANKGOD FOR A MAN WHO HELPED ME GET THE CAR TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD I HAD NO POWER OR ANYTHING THOUGHT IT WAS THE BATTERY BOUGHT A NEW ONE AND IT HAPPEND AGAIN ON THE FREEWAY AS I WAS GETTING OF IN LEMON GROVE TURNOFF I WAS LUCKY I WAS GETTING OFF THE FREEWAY BECAUSE I HAD NO LIGHTS POWER NOTHING WORKED COME TO FIND OUT IT IS THE ALTERNATOR FROM WHAT IM READING ONLINE HUNDREDS OF 09 OWNERS HAVE THIS SAME PROBLEM AND IT NEEDS TO GET DEALT WITH BEFORE SOMEONE DIES BECAUSE WHEN YOUR CAR LOSES POWER ITS DONE NOT EVEN A JUMP WILL HELP PLEASE RECALL THESE ALTERNATORS . BRAKE SYSTEM BRAKES LOCKED ALL 4. WHEN I DRIVE IT SOUNDED LIKE RATTLING ONCE I MADE IT HOME BACKED UP IT JERKED THEN CALL A MECHANIC AND HE SAID BRAKES ARE LOCKED DNT DRIVE.
EXACT SAME ALTERNATOR/LOSS OF POWER ISSUES AS OTHERS HAVE POSTED. CAR HAS COMPLETELY SHUT OFF TWICE WHILE DRIVING. 2 NEW ALTERNATORS. ON MY 3RD...WAITING FOR IT TO GO ANY DAY NOW. THIS DEFECT IS EXTREMELY SERIOUS AND DANGEROUS. SOOOO MANY COMPLAINTS YET NISSAN OR THE NHTSA A HAS DONE ANYTHING TO HELP RECTIFY THE PROBLEM.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO CALLED AN UNKNOWN LOCAL DEALER LOCATED IN NEW JERSEY. THE DEALER OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE MANUFACTURER'S CONSUMER AFFAIRS WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DECLINED TO OFFER ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 102,000.
I WAS DRIVING THE CAR AND STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT. WHEN I HIT THE GAS TO GO WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN THE CAR WOULD NOT GO. IT TOOK ABOUT 20 SECONDS BEFORE IT WOULD GO AND WHEN IT DID IT ACTED LIKE I HAD MY FOOT ON THE GAS PEDAL WHICH I DID NOT. IT HAS DONE THIS NUMEROUS TIMES. I REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP AND TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC TWICE. NOTHING THAT HAS BEEN DONE HAS FIXED THE PROBLEM. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN REAR ENDED SEVERAL TIMES DUE THE FACT THAT THE CAR STALLS.
NISSAN PREFORMED WORK ON THIS VEHICLE FOR RECALL # RECALL 18V916000. A YEAR LATER THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM OCCURRED AND NISSAN SAYS WE ARE NOW RESPONSIBLE FOR THE BILL BECAUSE THEY ONLY HAVE TO ATTEMPT TO FIX RECALLS ONCE
TRANSFER CASE IS LEAKING. KNOWN DEFECT IN NISSAN MURANOS. THE DEALERSHIP RESEALED THE TRANSFER CASE THE FIRST TIME ($2000 +). TWO WEEKS LATER IT STARTED LAKING AGAIN. THEY FIXED IT FOR FREE UNDER REPAIR WARRANTY. TWO MORE WEEKS LATER, THEY ARE SAYING I NEED A NEW TRANSFER CASE WHICH WILL COST $4000. NISSAN NEEDS TO TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY FOR MANUFACTURER DEFECT.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE SUB-FRAME DETACHED DUE TO CORROSION AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATELY FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 128,000.
THE CVT TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTIONS AND VEHICLE ENTERS FAILSAFE 'LIMP' MODE WHEN TRANSMISSION IS AT PEAK OPERATING TEMPERATURE (APPROXIMATELY 20 MINUTES OF STOP AND GO ACCELERATION FROM A COLD VEHICLE). VEHICLE BEGINS TO SHUTTER (SHAKE) WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP. THE SHUTTERING DURING ACCELERATION PROGRESSIVELY GETS WORSE TO A POINT THE VEHICLE ENTERS A FAILSAFE 'LIMP' MODE. ONCE IN FAILSAFE 'LIMP' MODE YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE NO ACCELERATION AND VEHICLE TRAVELS APPROXIMATELY 2-3 MPH. THIS PUTS THE OCCUPANTS OF THE VEHICLE IN GRAVE DANGER, ESPECIALLY IN SCENARIOS WHILE IN A LEFT TURN LANE WITH 50 MPH ONCOMING TRAFFIC THAT I HAD TO EXPERIENCE WITH MY FAMILY. THE BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE REQUIRES A NEW TRANSMISSION; $5,000. THE VEHICLE HAS A CURRENT MARKET VALUE OF $5,000. NISSAN WILL NOT COVER THE COSTS OF THE REPAIR. CVT TRANSMISSION DEFECTS ARE A KNOWN PROBLEM AND NISSAN EXTENDED THE WARRANTY FOR THE CVT TRANSMISSION TO 10 YEARS / 120,000 MILES. MY VEHICLE IS 11.5 YEARS OLD AND AT 127,000 MILES AND THEY WILL NOT COVER THE COST OF REPAIR.
THERE WAS A STABILIZER THAT WAS NOT CONNECTED ON THE RIGHT FRONT SIDE. FOUND OUT WHEN I WAS IN THE MECHANICS. AS FOR THE BRAKES THEY HAVE WORN DOWN QUICKLY AND HAD PROBLEMS. INCLUDING A DRIVER SIDE REAR LINE. THE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT REMAINS ON EVEN WHEN TIRES ARE BALANCED.
BROUGHT MY VEHICLE INTO THE SHOP FOR MAINTENANCE AND WAS TOLD THAT THE TRANSFER CASE IS LEAKING. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE 2009-2014 MURANO AND THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ACROSS SEVERAL FORUMS. THE TRANSFER CASE CANNOT BE REPAIRED AND HAS TO BE REPLACED. THE COST TO REPLACE IT BY THE DEALERSHIP IS $3500 AND THERE ARE NUMEROUS REPORTS THAT IF THE TRANSFER CASE IS NOT FIXED THE ENGINE WILL SEIZE UP AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. WHILE I'M LUCKY THIS HASN'T HAPPENED TO ME, IT DOESN'T MEAN IT WON'T HAPPEN TO SOMEONE ELSE WHO IS UNAWARE THAT THEIR TRANSFER CASE IS LEAKING. THIS REPAIR IS ALSO NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THERE ARE REPORTS THAT THIS ISSUE IS ONLY WITH TRANSFER CASES MANUFACTURED BETWEEN 2009 AND 2014, WHICH SOUNDS LIKE A MANUFACTURER DEFECT. GIVE THAT WHY IS THIS NOT REQUIRED TO BE COVERED UNDER A RECALL, OR AT THE VERY LEAST THE WARRANTY? SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE TO FORCE THE MANUFACTURER TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR DEFECTIVE PARTS.
2009 NISSAN WITH 174,220 MILES NOTICED STEERING WHEEL WAS NOT ALIGNED AND BACK WHEELS WERE NOT LINING UP. ALSO, WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY THE CAR WANTS TO SWAY TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT OR BOTH WHEN A BUMP IS HIT IN THE ROAD. THE MURANO WAS TAKEN TO NISSAN DEALER TO HAVE THE CAR CHECKED AND THEY STATED THAT THE K-FRAME ON THE REAR WAS RUSTED AND BROKE COMPLETELY IN HALF CAUSING MY TIRES TO FLARE OUT AND WORN TO THE BELTS ON THE INSIDE OF BOTH REAR TIRES. I HAVE RESEARCHED AND FOUND MANY COMPLAINTS ON 2005-2010 MURANO'S WITH THE SAME ISSUE. THIS IS SURELY A RECALL THAT THE NISSAN MANUFACTURER WOULD NEED TO REPLACE. NOW I WILL NEED THE FULL K-FRAME REPLACED, NEW EXHAUST AND TIRES.

THE MAKE, MODEL AND YEAR OF MY VEHICLE IS INCLUDED IN THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN 08V521000, WHICH HIGHLIGHTS THIS IDENTICAL PROBLEM YET MY VIN IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. HOW CAN THIS BE? NISSAN SHOULD COVER THIS SEVERE SAFETY FAILURE THAT IS HAPPENING TO A LOT OF 2009 MURANOS. VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT AND HAS ABOUT 80,000 MILES. VEHICLE NO LONGER FEELS SAFE TO DRIVE AND REPAIR COST IS PROHIBITIVELY HIGH.
BRAKE PEDAL GOES TO FLOOR WHEN TRYING TO STOP.
1/31/2020 - BRAKE LIGHT AND BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON. AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, WENT TO PROCEED WHEN LIGHT TURNED GREEN, CAR LITERALLY DIED AS I ACCELERATED.
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON A FRIGID NIGHT AND SHE FELT THAT SHE NEEDED TO PUMP THE BRAKE UNTIL IT HITS THE FLOOR TO STOP, NEXT DAY AS SHE WAS DRIVING FROM OUR GARAGE IT JUST SLID OFF THE SLOPED DRIVEWAY. I NEEDED TO DRIVE HER TO WORK IN ANOTHER VEHICLE. I HAD THE BRAKE PADS REPLACED BECAUSE THE MECHANIC SUGGESTED THAT THE SPONGINESS OF THE BRAKE MIGHT GO AWAY IF I HAVE A NEW BRAKE PAD. AFTER THE REPLACEMENT IT WAS IF NOTHING WAS DONE TO THE BRAKES IT WAS STILLSPONGY.
TOTAL LOSS OF ELECTRICAL POWER WHILE DRIVING. ENGINE DIES LIGHTS GO OUT VEHICLE ROLLS TO A STOP. PUT VEHICLE IN PARK AND ELECTRICAL POWER RETURN WITH NO FURTHER ACTION. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN MURANO. WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP AS THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND THEN CONTINUE DRIVING. ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS POWERED OFF AND RESTARTED, IT RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FRANK FLETCHER NISSAN (2327 S RANGELINE RD, JOPLIN, MO 64804, (417) 317-5179) WHERE CODE NUMBER: C1142 WAS FOUND. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE ABS ACTUATOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V916000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 38082076. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 128,157.

RECENTLY, A PROBLEM AROSE WITH MY 2009 NISSAN MURANO'S OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM (OCS). THE AIRBAG LIGHT IN MY CAR HAD TURNED ON SO I BROUGHT IT TO THE MECHANIC. AFTER NUMEROUS EFFORTS, HE SUGGESTED THAT I BRING IT TO THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALER. WHEN I DID, THEY WERE AT A LOSS AS TO WHAT TO DO. AT THE TIME, I CALLED NISSAN NORTH AMERICA ('NNA') TO SEE IF THERE WAS ANYTHING THEY COULD DO. AFTER REGISTERING MY CONCERNS, NNA APPARENTLY MADE SOME INQUIRIES OF THE DEALER AND THEN TOLD ME THAT THE CAR WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. I BROUGHT IT BACK TO MY MECHANIC, WHO REASSEMBLED THE PASSENGER SEAT AND, SURPRISINGLY, THE AIRBAG LIGHT WENT OFF. THIS SOLUTION WAS ONLY TEMPORARY. I BROUGHT IT TO MY MECHANIC AGAIN, WHO DISCOVERED A RECALL CAMPAIGN ON AN IDENTICAL ISSUE WHICH INCLUDED MY CAR'S MAKE AND MODEL. SPECIFICALLY, NISSAN RECALL CAMPAIGN BULLETIN NTB08-095, ISSUED 11/4/2008. (ALSO SEE ID #: P8242, NHTSA #: 08V-521.) MY MECHANIC AGAIN REFERRED ME TO THE DEALER, WHO TOLD ME THAT 'OCCUPANT SENSOR PERFORMED PIN TEST AND FOUND INTERNAL FAILURE WITH OCCUPANT SENSOR'. I THEN CONTACTED NISSAN AND OPENED A CASE REGARDING MY SITUATION (#37964757). I RECEIVED A RESPONSE THAT THE OCS IN MY CAR WAS SOMEHOW DIFFERENT FROM THOSE THAT WERE COVERED BY THE RECALL. HOWEVER, WHEN MY PROBLEMS ARE SO SIMILAR TO THOSE DESCRIBED BY THE RECALL BULLETIN, AND THE SAME TEST THAT IS USED FOR THE RECALL FOUND ISSUES WITH MY CAR, I DON'T SEE WHY CARS WITH THE SAME OCS AS MINE SHOULD NOT BE COVERED BY THE CAMPAIGN. THERE IS NO REASON NOT TO. IT IS THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL OF THE RECALL AND IS SUFFERING FROM THE SAME ISSUE. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY ONE GROUP OF CARS IS COVERED BUT ANOTHER IS NOT EVEN THOUGH BOTH GROUPS ARE AFFLICTED BY THE SAME PROBLEMS. I HOPE THAT THE SCOPE OF THE RECALL CAN BE EXPANDED TO INCLUDE ALL CARS THAT, LIKE MINE, POSE A POTENTIAL SAFETY HAZARD TO THEIR DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS.
2009 NISSAN MURANO. BROKEN REAR CROSSMEMBER MAKING VEHICLE UNSAFE TO DRIVE, NEEDING REPLACEMENT OF CROSSMEMBER. NISSAN HAS PROBLEMS WITH CROSSMEMBERS ON MULTIPLE MODELS RUSTING AND BREAKING. CLEARLY THEY KNOW OF PROBLEM BUT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GET AWAY WITH MANUFACTURING THESE VEHICLES TO JUST LAST LONG ENOUGH TO MAKE PAST WARRANTY. THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL IN 2006/2007 ON ALTIMA AND MAXIMA I BELIEVE FOR THIS PROBLEM. WE FIRST NOTICED BROKEN CROSSMEMBER WHEN CLUNKING NOISES FROM REAR STARTED WHILE DRIVING. ALSO ALIGNMENT AFFECTED WITH STEERING WHEEL OFF CENTER IS AN INDICATOR. SO USED NISSAN VEHICLES BEING PURCHASED BY YOUNG NEW FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN IS A DISASTER WAITING TO HAPPEN.
AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT STARTED FLASHING AND DOES NOT GO OFF. DEALER (LANCASTER NISSAN) TESTED THE VEHICLE AND STATED THAT SENSOR OR SEAT SENSOR COULD BE BAD. THEY WERE ABLE TO TURN OFF WARNING LIGHT, BUT IT STARTED AGAIN THE NEXT TIME I DROVE THE CAR. ESTIMATES TO REPLACE SENSOR ($1,500) AND SEAT SENSOR ($4,500) SEEM EXTREMELY HIGH. VEHICLE HAS ONLY 39,000 MILES AND WAS PURCHASED NEW. DEALER STATED THERE IS NO OPEN RECALL DESPITE RESEARCH SHOWING 100'S OF 2009 MURANOS WITH THE SAME ISSUE AND A PRIOR RECALL ON EARLIER MURANOS AND INFINITI'S - CLEARLY THE SAME MANUFACTURING DEFECT. HAVE NOT TAKEN AN ACTION TO REPAIR AT THIS POINT,
AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT SUDDENLY STAYED ON FLASHING. THERE HAS NEVER BEEN ANY ACCIDENT. LOW MILES AND RARELY A PASSENGER IN THE CAR. NISSAN DEALER CHECKED AND DETERMINED IT WAS THE PASSENGER SENSOR. THEY REPLACED THE SENSOR AND LIGHT REMAINED. THEY THEN SAID THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE PASSENGER SEAT BOTTOM TO FIX THE ISSUE. ~$3,700 LATER AND IT IS FIXED.
DRIVE TRANSFER CASE MAKES LOUD KNOCKING NOISE AND THE AWD BUTTON COMES ON AND OFF, AFTER RESEARCH OTHERS REPORTED THIS CAUSES VEHICLE TO SUDDENLY STOP AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS
STARTED TO GO TO WORK, 5 MINUTES DOWN THE ROAD CAR STARTS SHAKING ALL ELECTRICAL SHUTS OFF CAR DIES WIFE IS LOCKED IN CAR FOR A HALF AN HOUR.
DRIVERS DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK. VECHILE WAS PARKED. TOOK TO MY MECHANIC AND HE COULD NOT UNLOCK. TRIED WITH REMOTE, AND KEY. WILL NOT UNLOCK FROM INSIDE OR OUTSIDE THE CAR. STILL LOCKED AND WILL NOT UNLOCK
THE VEHICLE WILL SHUT OFF WHEN DRIVING WITHOUT ANY WARNING. IT WILL GO INTO LIMP MODE OR COMPLETELY DIE WHEN ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY. LIGHTS WILL START FLASHING AND POWER STEERING WILL GO OUT.
