THE VEHICLES POWER STEERING GOES IN AND OUT AS WELL AS THE BRAKING SYSTEM
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER MODERN NISSAN OF WINSTON SALEM, 5795 UNIVERSITY PKWY, WINSTON-SALEM, NC, 27105, THEY DETERMINED THAT THE SENSOR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 117,488.
ABS RECALL. MY CAR HAS DEEP BRAKE & TAKE LONGER TO STOP SO BROUGHT TO MY MECHANIC & INFORMED ME THAT IT HAS AN OUTSTANDING ABS RECALL SO I BROUGHT IT TO KEOPPEL NISSAN SERVICE IN QUEENS NY. AFTER TWO DAYS OF WAITING THEY DID NOTHING SO DECIDED TO PICK IT UP & TO BRING IT TO OTHER NISSAN DEALER SERVICE. BEFORE PICKING MY VEHICLE UP THEY INFORMED ME THAT DEEP BRAKE & LONGER BRAKING TIME HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ABS, VEHICLES ABS HAS NO ISSUE & DOES NOT NEED TO BE REPLACED. THEY INFORMED ME THAT THAT IT IS THE BRAKE PADS & THE CALIPERS WHICH WAS RECEIVING CHECKED BY MY TRUSTED MECHANIC. BUT KEOPPEL NISSAN SERVICE DID NOT PROVIDE ME ANY WRITTEN PROOFS THAT ABS OR THE RECALL HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH MY VEHICLES BRAKING ISSUE. NOW I AM BACK TO SQUARE ONE, WILL BRING THE VEHICLE TO OTHER NISSAN SERVICE.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS ON MY DASHBOARD ASIDE FROM THE TPMS LIGHT. THERE WAS A LOUD POP NOISE, SO I PULLED OVER TO CHECK IT OUT. WITHIN 30 SECONDS SMOKE CAME FROM UNDER THE HOOD AND QUICKLY TURNED FROM WHITE TO BLACK. THEN THE VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE. IT WAS COMPLETELY BURNED WITH NOTHING BUT THE TRUNK LEFT IN TACT.
I AM REPORTING A COMPLAIN ABOUT NISSANS NEGLIGENCE. NISSAN DID NOT INFORMED ME ABOUT OUTSTANDING RECALL (ABS HCU) FOR THIS VEHICLE WHICH WAS ISSUED LATE 2018. I ONLY KNEW BECAUSE I BROUGHT MY VEHICLE TO MY TRUSTED MECHANIC FOR BRAKING ISSUES ON 08.20.2019 WHO INFORMED ME THAT THERE IS AN OUTSTANDING RECALL FOR THIS VEHICLE.
WHILE DRIVING MY 2009 NISSAN MURANO APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH ON I-5 FROM PORTLAND, OR TO MY HOME IN WASHINGTON THE FRONT PART OF MY SUNROOF SHATTERED FOR NO APPARENT REASON. THERE WAS AN EXPLOSIVE SOUND BEFORE SHARDS OF GLASS RAINED DOWN ON THE INSIDE OF MY CAR. MY SUNROOF WAS CLOSED AT THE TIME BUT THE SHADE PART WAS OPEN. SOME OF THE SHARDS MEASURED APPROXIMATELY 6 INCHES IN LENGTH. IT WAS A NICE SUNNY DAY OUT AND THE APPROXIMATE TIME OF THE INCIDENT WAS 6:00 PM. THERE WERE NO OVERPASSES IN THE VICINITY WHERE THE INCIDENT OCCURRED. I WAS NOT TRAVELING NEAR ANY DUMP TRUCKS OR OTHER VEHICLES THAT WAS CARRYING ANY CARGO. I COULD FIND NO EVIDENCE OF FLYING DEBRIS TO CAUSE THE GLASS TO SHATTER. I HAVE CONTACTED NISSAN DEALERSHIP IN MY AREA AND WAS QUOTED A PRICE OF $1,311.00 PLUS TAXES TO REPLACE THE SHATTERED GLASS. FORTUNATELY, I WAS THE ONLY PERSON IN THE VEHICLE AT THE TIME AND WAS ABLE TO GET OVER FROM THE 2ND LANE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO DEAL WITH THE LARGE AMOUNTS OF SHATTERED GLASS THAT WAS FOUND IN BOTH THE FRONT AND BACK SEATS OF MY CAR. IT WAS A VERY UNNERVING SITUATION TO BE IN AND I DID LOOK TO IF SEE ANY OTHER DRIVERS IN THE AREA APPEARED TO BE EFFECTED BY MY SUNROOF SHATTERING. I DID NOT SEE EVIDENCE THAT ANY OTHER DRIVERS WERE EFFECTED BY MY SUNROOF SHATTERING. I DID TAKE SEVERAL PHOTOS OF THE SHATTERED GLASS FOR MY RECORDS. I HAVE ALSO KEPT LARGER FRAGMENTS OF THE SHATTERED GLASS FOR EVIDENTIARY PURPOSES BECAUSE I WILL BE SENDING A DEMAND LETTER TO NISSAN TO COVER THE COST BASED ON PREVIOUS REPORTS I HAVE JUST NOW FOUND OUT ABOUT. I DON'T FEEL MY MURANO IS SAFE TO DRIVE KNOWING THAT THE SUNROOF MAY EXPLODE AGAIN FOR NO APPARENT REASON. I WILL BE DRIVING WITH MY SHADE CLOSED ON MY SUNROOF WHICH DEFEATS PURPOSE OF HAVING A SUNROOF BUT SAFETY COMES FIRST.
FUEL GAUGE IS NOT READING FUEL LEVEL. HAPPENS MOST OFTEN WHEN FUEL IS BELOW 1/2 TANK. SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT IS ILLUMINATED. THIS INCIDENT OCCURS REGARDLESS IF VEHICLE IS PARKED OR DRIVING. STARTED OCCURRING WHEN VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED IN AUGUST 2019
I HAVE A REPEATED ELECTRICAL ISSUE WITH MY CAR. AT FIRST, I THOUGHT MY ISSUE WAS DIAGNOSED IMPROPERLY BUT I WAS RECENTLY ON THE NHTSA PAGE AND FOUND OVER 20 COMPLAINTS THAT EXPRESSED THE SAME EXACT ISSUE I HAVE BEEN HAVING. THAT ISSUE BEING THE FACT THAT MY CAR, WHEN IN MOTION WILL COMPLETELY SHUT OFF ON ME AND GO INTO NEUTRAL. THIS WILL HAPPEN WITHOUT ANY WARNING AND FOR ME HAS HAPPENED BOTH TIMES ON THE HIGHWAY WHILE GOING 75 MPH. ONCE THE CAR STALLS OUT, THE POWER STEERING WILL ALSO GO OUT IN ABOUT 30 SECONDS AND THE ENGINE WILL COMPLETELY SHUT OFF AT THAT TIME. THEREFORE, YOU HAVE ABOUT 30 SECONDS TO ROLL YOUR CAR TO A SAFE SPOT IN ORDER TO AVOID A CRASH. THERE IS NO TURNING THE CAR OFF AND THEN BACK ON, AS WHEN YOU TRY TO DO SO ALL OF THE DASH LIGHTS WILL COME ON AND THE ENGINE WILL NOT START BACK UP AS THE BATTERY IS DEAD OR CLOSE TO IT. IF YOU ARE LUCKY YOU CAN GET JUMPED BUT THE BATTERY BECOMES SO DRAINED THAT IT CANNOT EVEN HOLD A CHARGE FOR A MILES WORTH OF POWER. BOTH TIMES I HAVE HAD TO HAVE MY MURANO TOWED INTO A SHOP. THE FIRST TIME THIS ISSUE OCCURRED I WAS TOLD I NEED MY BATTERY REPLACED AS IT WAS DEAD AND THAT WAS THE CAUSE OF MY ENGINE FAILURE. THIS SOUNDED STRANGE TO ME AT THE TIME, AS THE BATTERY THAT I HAD WAS A LITTLE LESS THAN A YEAR OLD BUT I WAS JUST WANTING TO PICKUP A WORKING CAR AND PUT THIS BEHIND ME. MY CAR WORKED PROPERLY FOR 48 DAYS BEFORE I AGAIN, HAD THE SAME EXACT ISSUE OCCUR TO ME, WHILE AGAIN TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY GOING 75 MPH. THIS TIME, THERE WAS NOT ADEQUATE SPACE ON THE HIGHWAY TO PULL OVER AND I HAD TO CALL 911 IN ORDER TO AVOID A CRASH. AGAIN, I HAD MY CAR TOWED AND WAS NOW TOLD IT WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE ALTERNATOR, WHICH I THEN HAD REPLACED. I AM NOW WORRIED THIS ISSUE WILL REOCCUR AS PEOPLE ARE STATING THEY HAVE HAD THEIR ALTERNATOR REPLACED 2 AND 3 TIMES AND ARE STILL BEING PUT IN THESE SCARY, ENGINE FAILURE SITUATIONS
STERING WHEEL LOCK ACTUATOR ITS NOT WORKING DONT LET MY CAR START THIS PART ITS SO EXPENSIVE SHOULD BE A RECALL REGARDING THIS PROBLEM I WAS IS CHICAGO 90 DEGRES WITH MY 2 DAUGHTERS AND MY WIFE AND MY CAR DOESN'T START MY A/C ONLY CAN RUN FOR A FEW MINUTES BEFORE THE BATTERY IS GONE , HOW CAN BE POSIBLE THAT THIS PART CAN MAKE THE CAR AND MY FAMILY STANDING ON THE SUN IN SUMMER TIME SNISSAN SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE TO FIX THIS PROBLEM

GRUBBS NISSAN (310 AIRPORT FWY, BEDFORD, TX 76022, (817) 786-4800) WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS EXCLUDED FROM NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V916000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC); HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE EXHIBITED THE SAME FAILURE AS THE RECALL CAMPAIGN. THE DEALER INDICATED THAT A DIAGNOSIS WAS REQUIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
CHARGING SYSTEM PROBLEMS, HAVE REPLACED ALTERNATER AND BATTERY, STILL HAVE PROBLEMS THE CAR WILL DRIVE FOR 20 MIN AND THEN START ACTING UP LIKE LOSE OF POWER AND NOT GO ANYWERE THEN JUST DIE AT WORST TIME POSSIBLE, WENT THROUGH THE WHOLE THING BUNCH OF TIMES, DID A TEST OF CHARGING IT WILL READ 14 VOLTS BUT THEN WITHIN 20 MIN IT WILL QUIT CHARGING AND GO TO 12.3 AND JUST KEEP GOING DOWN UNTIL DEAD. IT SUCKS NOBODY HAS A SOLUTION THAT I CAN FIND BUT ALOT OF SAME ISSUES OUT THERE EXACT SAME BUT NO FIXES WHAT HAPPENING WITH THIS

THE CONTACT HAD TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL MULTIPLE TIMES FOR IT TO FUNCTION. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V916000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CROWN NISSAN OF GREENSBORO (LOCATED AT 3900 W WENDOVER AVE, GREENSBORO, NC 27407, (336) 790-9853) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ABS CONTROL UNIT NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED A STATE SAFETY INSPECTION DUE TO BRAKE PEDAL BEING DEPRESSED TO THE FLOOR BOARD WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER WAS REPLACED HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE FAILED A SECOND INSPECTION. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY THE INSPECTOR THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SUBJECTED TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V916000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HALL NISSAN VIRGINIA BEACH (3757 BONNEY RD, VIRGINIA BEACH, VA 23452) AND REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER AND BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,000.

IN OTHER INSTANCES, THE VEHICLE HAD A DRASTIC REDUCTION IN SPEED. THE ALTERNATOR ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED MORE THAN TWICE, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE VEHICLE WAS EXCLUDED FROM NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 05V319000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE EXHIBITED THE SAME FAILURE AS THE RECALL CAMPAIGN. MOSES NISSAN (300 MACCORKLE AVE, ST ALBANS, WV 25177, (304) 727-2921) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V916000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC), BUT A REPAIR APPOINTMENT HAD NOT BEEN SCHEDULED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN MURANO. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE DID NOT STOP WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED. THE CONTACT HAD TO PUMP THE BRAKE PEDAL TO STOP THE VEHICLE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH, THE TRAFFIC SUDDENLY STOPPED. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO STOP THE VEHICLE; HOWEVER, THE BRAKES FAILED AND CAUSED THE CONTACT TO REAR END THE PRECEDING VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A CERTIFIED MECHANIC WHO WAS NOT ABLE TO FIND ANY FAILURE WITH THE BRAKES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED APPROXIMATELY A WEEK AGO. DORSCHEL NISSAN (LOCATED AT 3817 W HENRIETTA RD, ROCHESTER, NY 14623, 585-334-9440) DIAGNOSED THAT THE TWO LOWER PINS ON THE FRONT BRAKES WERE NOT PROPERLY LUBRICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AND THE BRAKE FLUID WAS CHANGED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 109,000.
NISSAN IS NOT COMPLYING WITH RECALL. OCTOBER 23, 2018 THERE WAS A RECALL ON MY 2009 NISSAN MURANO FOR THE ABS ACTUATOR, BRAKE FLUID AND LINES. I WAS TOLD THEY WOULD TEST THE ACTUATOR AND CHANGE THE BRAKE FLUID AND LINES. AT THIS TIME MY CAR PASSED THE ACTUATOR TEST SO THE NISSAN SERVICE FACILITY INFORMED ME THAT THEY WOULD NOT BE FIXING THE ACTUATOR. HOWEVER, ON MAY 21, 2019 I TOOK MY CAR IN FOR SERVICE BECAUSE MY ABS AND SLIP LIGHTS CAME ON IN MY CAR. THE NISSAN SERVICE FACILITY INFORMED ME THAT MY ACTUATOR NOW NEEDS REPAIR, BUT NISSAN WILL NOT COVER THE EXPENSE SAYING THAT THEY "ALREADY COMPLETED THE RECALL". IS THIS HOW A RECALL WORKS? I AM HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THIS SAME PART 6 MONTHS LATER. IF I WOULD HAVE WAITED AND HAD MY CAR TESTED TODAY I WOULD HAVE RECEIVED A NEW ACTUATOR. PLEASE HELP I AM NOT WELL VERSED IN CARS BUT AM CONCERNED THAT MY CAR IS AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN. THIS PART WAS RECALLED FOR A REASON AND I AM LOOKING FOR NISSAN TO HONOR THEIR RECALL AND FIX THE ACTUATOR SO MY CAR IS SAFE. LIVING IN THE MIDWEST WITH OUR CRAZY WEATHER; GOOD RELIABLE BRAKES ARE VERY IMPORTANT. I HAVE HAD ISSUES (WHICH I PREVIIOUSLY REPORTED) WITH MY BRAKES NOT WORKING PROPERLY.
BRAKES FEEL VERY SOFT AND SPONGY AFTER PREVIOUS RECALL TO SWAP DOT3 BRAKE FLUID WITH DOT 4 BRAKE FLUID
ON A MAIN ROAD PARKED OFF OF A HIGHWAY, CAR BATTERY AND BRAKE LIGHT STARTED FLICKERING, SUDDENLY AS I TRIED TO PULL ONTO MAIN ROAD AND CAR RANDOMLY FORCEFULLY STOPPED AS IF WENT TO NEUTRAL WOULDN'T ACCELERATE IN ANY GEAR. I HAD TO ROLL THE CAR BACK INTO A PARKING SPOT QUICK AS POSSIBLE AS THERE WAS ONCOMING TRAFFIC. I THEN TURNED CAR OFF THEN ON AND MORE LIGHTS ON THE DASH ILLUMINATED, ABS, BRAKE, BATTERY, AND TRACKION CONTROL AS WELL. I TURNED THE CAR OFF TO THEN TRY RESTARTING AGAIN AND WOULDN'T DO ANYTHING AS, COMPLETELY DEAD. HAD TO LEAVE THE CAR OVERNIGHT PARKED TIL THE FOLLOWING DAY FOR A TOW SINCE IT NEVER STARTED BACK UP. WAITING ON WHAT CAUSED THIS PROBLEM, DEFINITELY UNSAFE, COULD HAVE CAUSED A ACCIDENT DUE TO GOING INTO A NEUTRAL LIKE MODE AS DRIVING ONTO A MAIN ROAD AND NEAR A HIGHWAY
CAR STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY AND WOULD NOT START UNLESS IT WAS JUMPED. IT HAS DONE THIS SEVERAL TIME AND IS VERY DANGEROUS. IT APPEARS TO BE THE ALTERNATOR. I HAVE SEEN MAN FORUMS ON THIS SAME SITUATION FOR THE 2009 NISSAN MURANO AND I SUPPRISED TO SEE THAT NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE.
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE LOST POWER, WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE NO POWER AND NOTICED DROP IN RPM. ALSO BATTERY AND BRAKE LIGHTS FLICKERING. WAS ABLE TO GET CAR HOME HOWEVER A WEEK LATER WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR IT HAPPENED AGAIN ONLY THIS TIME IT COMPLETELY DIED, AFTER HAVING IT TOWED HOME, AFTER JUMP START VEHICLE STARTED RIGHT UP WITHOUT HESITATION, AND RAN FINE. SYSTEM CHECKS GOOD AND BATTERY IS NEW LESS THAN 60 DAYS. VERY DANGEROUS AS THERE IS NOT WARNING TO SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER AND STALLING. VEHICLE LIGHTS RADIIO ETC ALL STILL WORK BUT VEHICLE WON'T START. NISSAN RECALLED EARLIER MODELS ALTERNATOR FOR SAME SYMPTOMS HOWEVER NOT MY VEHICLE YEAR. SAME SET UP LOCATION AS THE 03-07 MODELS SAME PROBLEMS JUST NO RECALL ON 09 MODELS. CAR HAS POWER LIGHTS RADIO ETC JUST LOOSES ABILITY TO ACCELERATE AND IF ENGINE STALLS THEN REQUIRES BOOSTING TO BE STARTED AGAIN. RUNS FINE AFTER NO WARNING LIGHTS AND THEN WITHOUT WARNING HAPPENS AGAIN.
AIRBAG LIGHT FLASHING, WILL NOT TURN OFF, ALSO MY TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT WILL NOT TURN OFF, THAT HAS BEEN ON FOR A YEAR.

SENT NISSAN A CERTIFIED LETTER DATED 2-20-19 CONCERNING NHTSA RECALL 18V-916 WITH ALL APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTATION. THE LETTER AND DOCUMENTATION WERE CERTIFIED MAIL AND I RECEIVED RECEIPT BACK FROM NISSAN. THEY HAD 30 DAYS TO RESPOND AND THEY DID NOT. SENT E MAIL TO NISSAN IN FRANKLIN TN.ON 3-18-2019. THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT WITHOUT A WARNING LIGHT OR SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT. I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC AND IF STOPPED. I WAS DRIVING 25 MPH IN A SUBURB GOING STRAIGHT. WHEN I HEARD A LOUD BUZZING SOUND AND BOOM NO MORE ACCELERATION. THIS IS DANGEROUS.

THE PASSENGER SEAT AIR BAG CONTROL QUIT WORKING. THE RED LIGHT IS ON IN THE DASH. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THIS VIN NUMBER IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. NISSAN HAS A RECALL NVTSA # 08V-521 AND THE CAMPAIGN ID FOR THE 2009 MURANO NUMBER IS Z51. THE PROBLEM WITH MY CAR IS THE SAME AS THE RECALL. I ONLY GET THE RUNAROUND FROM NISSAN ABOUT MY PROBLEM. I CAN NOT USE THE CAR IF I HAVE A PASSENGER. I NEED HELP FOR THIS PROBLEM.
MY COLLEGE AGE DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING HOME FROM COLLEGE AND HEARD A NOISE UNDER THE CAR. IT IS A MIRACLE SHE MADE THE 4 HOUR DRIVE WITHOUT A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. WE IMMEDIATELY HAD THE CAR INSPECTED BY A LOCAL GARAGE WITH AN EXCELLENT REPUTATION. THEY CALLED ME BACK TO THE REPAIR BAY AND TOLD ME THE MAIN REAR SUBFRAME OR 'REAR CRADLE' HAD RUSTED COMPLETELY IN HALF. THE CAR HAS 111,000 MILES IN IT AND HAS BEEN WELL MAINTAINED. THE ENGINE AND INTERIOR ARE IN PERFECT CONDITION AND SHOULD PROVIDE MANY MORE YEARS OF SERVICE. THE CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND THE LOCAL REPAIR SHOPS ARE UNWILLING TO MAKE REPAIRS BECAUSE OF THE RISK OF BOLTS BREAKING OFF IN THE UNIBODY FRAME. THERE ARE MANY MANY REPORTS OF THIS ONLINE AND NISSAN REFUSES TO FIX THE SITUATION AFTER CALLING AND WORKING THROUGH THEIR PHONE PROCESS. THIS IS A CONSUMER LIFE SAFETY PROBLEM ON PAR WITH STUCK ACCELERATORS. THE GOVERNMENT NEEDS TO STEP IN AND PROTECT THE CITIZENS. APPARENTLY THERE IS EITHER A DESIGN OR STEEL QUALITY ISSUE AS OTHERS DESCRIBE ON THE INTERNET. NISSAN WOULDN'T EVEN OFFER TO FIX THE CAR. SELLING THESE TO OTHERS JUST PASSES RISK TO OTHER UNSUSPECTING PEOPLE. SOMETHING MUST BE DONE. BRAKES FAILED DUE TO ABS ACTUATOR FAILURE WHILE IN MOTION ON A HIGHWAY. VEHICLE WAS RECALLED FOR BRAKE FLUID CHANGE AND ABS ACTUATOR TEST. ABS ACTUATOR FAILED 4 MONTHS AFTER FLUID CHANGE. NISSAN REFUSED TO MAKE REPAIRS. TOTAL COST OF REPAIR WAS $2400. THIS CREATED AN UNSAFE CONDITION WHICH NISSAN REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE.
MY 2009 NISSAN MURANO LOST POWER ALL OF THE SUDDEN WHILE DEIVING, TOOK IT TO THE LOCSL SHOP AND I WAS TOLD IT WAS THE ALTERNATOR, PROCEED TO REPLACE IT FOR A NEW ONE AND YET IT HAPPENED AGAIN, I HAVE BEEN LOOKING IN SEVERAL FORUMS AND STILL HAVE NO CLUE ABOUT WHAT IT COULD BE, CHECKED NEW ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY AND THEY ARE WORKING 'PROPERLY' PLEASE HELP
THIS IS MY SECOND COMPLAINT. IN JANUARY MY BRAKES WENT SOFT WHEN THE ABS KICKED IN DURING AN EMERGENCY BRAKING SITUATION. I REPORTED THAT ISSUE THEN. AT THAT TIME NISSAN WAS IN DENIAL MODE ABOUT THIS SITUATION. WORKING WITH NISSAN AND A LOCAL DEALER, I WAS TOLD THAT THEY "REPROGRAMMED" MY ABS. I WAS CHARGED $75 AND SENT ON MY WAY. EARLIER THIS WEEK, IT HAPPENED AGAIN. I WAS DRIVING AND HIT A PATCH OF ICE. THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME SPUN OFF, THEN BACK ON THE ROAD CAUSING ME TO HAVE TO BRAKE HARD, AND BECAUSE OF THE ICE, THE ABS KICKED IN. MY BRAKES WERE THEN SOFT (REQUIRED GOING ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR TO STOP) UNTIL I REACHED A PLACE TO STOP AND COULD PUMP THEM BACK UP. THIS TIME THERE IS A VOLUNTARY SERVICE CAMPAIGN FOR THE ISSUE SO I TOOK IT BACK IN TO A DIFFERENT DEALERSHIP. NISSAN DRAINED THE BRAKE SYSTEM AND REPLACED THE DOT 3 FLUID WITH DOT 4, BUT THE MECHANIC SAID THE REAL FIX IS PROBABLY REPLACING THE ACTUATOR. HOWEVER, THEY WON'T COVER THAT SERVICE (CONFIRMED BY CALLING NISSAN CUSTOMER SERVICE, THOUGH, APPARENTLY IF YOU HAD IT REPLACED PRIOR TO THE CAMPAIGN, THEY WILL CONSIDER REIMBURSING YOU.) AND IT COSTS NEARLY $3000. SO, IN EFFECT, THE SERVICE CAMPAIGN IS REALLY JUST A MARKETING CAMPAIGN TO DRIVE PEOPLE INTO DEALERSHIPS IN ORDER TO CHARGE THEM THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO FIX A KNOWN SAFETY ISSUE WITH THIS YEAR AND MODEL OF VEHICLE.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
WHEN APPROACHING A RED LIGHT ON A LOCAL ROAD, MY VEHICLE SLOWED DOWN BUT DID NOT COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE BRAKE PEDAL PROVIDED NO RESISTANCE AND THEREFORE WAS APPLIED TO THE FLOOR OF THE VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, MY CAR PASSED THROUGH THE INTERSECTION AT APPROXIMATELY 10MPH. UPON IMMEDIATE INSPECTION BY A TECHNICIAN, THE BRAKE FLUID WAS FLUSHED AND REPLACED WITH DOT 4 FLUID. THREE MONTHS LATER, THE SAME ISSUE OCCURRED WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY. THE BRAKE PEDAL LACKED RESISTANCE, WAS APPLIED TO THE FLOOR OF THE CAR, AND THE CAR DID NOT COME TO A COMPLETE STOP UNTIL IT WAS TURNED OFF WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY AT A SPEED OF 10MPH. UNDER A NISSAN BRAKE FLUID SERVICE CAMPAIGN, THE BRAKE FLUID WAS ONCE AGAIN FLUSHED, REPLACED WITH DOT 4 FLUID, AND ABS WAS INSPECTED. DEALER WAS UNABLE TO IDENTIFY THE ISSUE SINCE THE INSPECTION PASSED AND STATES THE ABS WAS MOST LIKELY ACTIVATED IN BOTH INCIDENTS WITHOUT CAUSE. NO FURTHER EFFORT IS BEING PROVIDED. UPON FILING A CASE WITH NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS, NISSAN IS UNABLE TO REPLACE THE ACTUATOR PER THE SERVICE CAMPAIGN SINCE TESTS PASSED AND DEALER IS UNABLE TO REPLICATE SCENARIO. NISSAN AND THE DEALER ARE BOTH UNABLE TO IDENTIFY THE ISSUE AND UNWILLING TO PROVIDE ASSURANCE THAT THE BRAKES ARE SAFE TO OPERATE. THEY CONCLUDED TESTING PROCEDURES WERE FOLLOWED AND HAVE NO ADDITIONAL STEPS TO BE TAKEN. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE IN TERMS OF NOT IDENTIFYING WHY THE ABS WAS ACTIVATED WITHOUT CAUSE AND SUBSEQUENTLY PUTTING CONSUMER LIVES AT RISK. AFTER 2 DANGEROUS INCIDENTS AND POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, I LACK CONFIDENCE IN THE NISSAN BRAND, WILL NOT PURCHASE AGAIN AND WOULD ADVISE OTHERS OF THE SAME.
WHEN VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND WE BRAKE, PEDAL GOES ALMOST TO FLOOR. NISSAN DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSED ABS ACTUATOR IS DEFECTIVE. THERE IS A RECALL ON CERTAIN 09 MURANOS, BUT DEALER TELLS US OURS IS NOT IN RECALL AND WILL COST US 2600.
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR THE BRAKE PEDDLE BECAME SOFT. THE BREAK PEDDLE HAS TO BE PUSHED TO THE FLOOR. THE PROBLEM PERSISTS. I HAD A MECHANIC INSTALL NEW PADS AND ROTORS ON BOTH AXLES. AS WELL, HE TRIED TO BLEED THE BRAKES. THE PROBLEM PERSISTS.

THE ABS SYSTEM ON MY 2009 NISSAN MURANO DOES NOT WORK, IT LED TO AN ACCIDENT. I HAVE READ UP ON THIS AND THIS SEEMS TO BE A RECURRING PROBLEM WITH NISSAN MURANO 2009-2015 MODELS. IT IS UNACCEPTABLE THAT A CAR COMPANY CAN GET AWAY WITH THIS AND THEN TAKE THE STANCE THAT THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE.
TAKATA RECALL. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT MY CAR IS NOT UNDER RECALL BUT MY AIR BAG SENSOR LIGHT KEEPS FLASHING AND MY PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR SAYS THAT THIS IF OFF. I HAVE TRIED TURNING THE CAR ON AND OFF, BUCKLING THE SEATBELT AS PER INSTRUCTIONS. LIGHT FOR SENSOR WILL NOT GO OFF WHEN DRIVING, STATIONARY, OR IDLING.
