VEHICLE PROBLEM STARTED WITH ECM/IPDM POWER TRAIN WHICH STOOL ON ME. REPLACE FOR A COST OF $17-1800. I PAID ABOUT $1500-$1800 TO GET THE ECM FIXED AND IPDM REPLACED. I WAS INFORMED THAT MY VEHICLE NEEDED 2FRONT CONVERTERS FOR A COST OF $2500. I CONTACTED NISSAN MANUFACTURERS AND EXPRESSES MY CONCERNED. NISSAN MANUFACTURERS DID NOT WANT TO PAY ATTENTION TO MY CONCERNS, BUT AFTER ABOUT 3-5MONTHS OF NON STOP COMPLAINING, NISSAN MANUFACTURERS ISSUED A RECALLED ON THE ECM AND REFUNDED MY MONEY, BUT REFUSES TO FIX MY CONVERTERS. IN MARCH 2011, I GOT A RECALLED NOTICED FROM NISSAN MANUFACTURERS ABOUT A LEAK OF COOLANT INTO TRANSMISSION, SO I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE DEALERSHIP REFUSED TO DO THE REQUIRED INSPECTION AND CLAIMED THAT MY VEHICLE HAD MORE MILES THAN THE MANUFACTURERS REQUIRED MILE; AND YES, MY VEHICLE AT THAT TIME WAS NOT 5YEARS. TWO WEEKS LATER MY TRANSMISSION WENT INTO HEAVY SMOKE WITH A STRONG ROTTEN EGG ODOR WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I WAS TOLD THAT VALVE BODY INSIDE MY VEHICLE TRANSMISSION IS BURNED AND TO REPLACE IT FOR A COST OF ABOUT $3000+, AND SENSOR NEED TO BE REPLACE AS WELL AND THE 2 CONVERTERS. NISSAN GAVE ME A BILL OF OVER $5000. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE INSIDE OF THE TRANSMISSION HAD BECOME MILKY WITH METAL PARTS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 86,000.

FUEL SYSTEM SENSOR/GAS GAUGE NOT WORKING PROPERLY ALL THE TIME (TANK CAN BE FULL OR EMPTY) YOU WOULD NOT KNOW HAD TO PURCHASE THE SENSOR FROM NISSAN AND NISSAN HAD TO REPAIR FOR $700.00. *TR
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE STREET AT APPROXIMATELY 45MPH THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOSS FORWARD MOVING POWER BUT THE ENGINE WOULD REV TO A HIGH RPM, CAUSING A DANGEROUS SITUATION WITH THE OTHER TRAFFIC ON THE ROAD WHILE WE ATTEMPTED TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. UPON TAKING THE CAR TO THE DEALER, I WAS INFORMED THAT THE RADIATOR HAD EXPERIENCED AN INTERNAL FAILURE CAUSING ANTIFREEZE TO ENTER AND CONTAMINATE THE TRANSMISSION CAUSING THAT TO BECOME DAMAGED BEYOND REPAIR. ALTHOUGH THE POWER TRAIN (WHICH I IMAGINE INCLUDES THE TRANSMISSION) WAS STILL UNDER MANUFACTURES WARRANTY UP TO 60,000 MILES, I WAS TOLD IT WOULD NOT QUALIFY FOR A WARRANTY REPAIR SINCE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE RADIATOR WAS THE CAUSE OF THE TRANSMISSION FAILURE AND THE RADIATOR WAS ONLY COVERED UNDER A 3 YEAR OR 36,000 MILE WARRANTY. THE REPAIR COSTS FOR BOTH WERE QUOTED TO ME FROM THE DEALER TO BE ~$6,000.00 FOR A NEW RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION. IT IS ALSO MY UNDERSTANDING NISSAN HAS RECENTLY STARTED TO EXTEND THE WARRANTY ON CERTAIN PATHFINDERS FAULTY RADIATORS (BASED OFF OF VIN NUMBER) AND WOULD ALSO REIMBURSE ANYONE WHO ALREADY HAD TO PAY FOR THIS REPAIR OUT OF POCKET. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A LETTER FROM NISSAN TO-DATE STATING MY VEHICLE HAS QUALIFIED FOR THIS PLAN. EVEN THOUGH IT IS OBVIOUS TO ME (AND THE NISSAN DEALER) THAT MY RADIATOR WAS FAULTY THEREFORE CAUSING THE DAMAGE BEYOND REPAIR TO MY TRANSMISSION AS WELL. I FEEL I SHOULD BE REIMBURSED FOR THIS VERY EXPENSIVE REPAIR SINCE IT WAS CAUSED OUT OF NO FAULT OF MY OWN. DUE TO THE EXTREMELY HIGH DEALER QUOTE, I OPTED TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED AT AN INDEPENDENT CERTIFIED REPAIR SHOP FOR ~$4,000.00 FOR WHICH THEY INSTALLED A NEWLY WARRANTED TRANSMISSION AND RADIATOR PACKAGE. I WAS TOLD THEY ONLY SELL THE REPLACEMENT TRANSMISSIONS WITH THE RADIATORS INCLUDED, CONFIRMING TO ME THAT THIS TYPE OF FAILURE IS KNOWN TO THE INDUSTRY AS A COMBINED FAILURE.
WHILE DOING REGULAR VEHICLE MAINTENANCE ON MY VEHICLE, FOUND COOLANT HAD LEAKED INTO MY TRANSMISSION FLUID. AS A RESULT OF FINDING THIS PROBLEM, AND NOT HAVING THE FINANCIAL RESOURCES TO FIX IT AT THE TIME, I STOPPED DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON A CONSISTENT BASIS FOR AROUND 18 MONTHS. I DID THE BEST I COULD TO FIX IT BY BYPASSING THE DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION COOLER UNDER THE RADIATOR AND FLUSHING THE TRANSMISSION OF CONTAMINATED FLUID. SINCE DISCOVERING THIS PROBLEM I HAVE DRIVEN APPROXIMATELY 6,000 MILES, AND NOW THE TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING BADLY AND WHEN IT SHIFTS, THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS VERY HARD. AS A RESULT OF THIS TRANSMISSION COOLER FAILURE I AM NOW LOOKING AT BEING FORCED TO REPLACE MY TRANSMISSION. *JS
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED WHEN DISPENSING FUEL INTO THE FUEL TANK TO THE FULL CAPACITY LEVEL, THE FUEL GAUGE DISPLAYED A READING OF "EMPTY". THE FAILURE OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY STALLED ON SEVERAL DIFFERENT OCCASIONS DUE TO THE LACK OF FUEL IN THE FUEL TANK AND INACCURATE READINGS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING WHO CONFIRMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO THE FUEL SENDING UNIT. THERE WAS A RECALL UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 10V075000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:AUXILIARY TANK). THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 91,000.
OUR NISSAN PATHFINDER 2006, FUEL LEVEL INDICATION FLUCTUATES SO THAT WE DON'T KNOW THE TRUE FUEL REMAINING. BY FILLING THE GAS TANK AND RECORDING THE MILEAGE, WE CAN MONITOR DISTANCE TRAVELED TO ESTIMATE WHEN THE TANK WILL BE EMPTY. WE ALSO HAVE A SERVICE LIGHT INDICATION, WHICH I HAD READ BY MY LOCAL MECHANIC, CODE # P0463, WHICH SAYS ITS A "FUEL LEVEL SENSOR A CIRCUIT HIGH INPUT." HE SAYS I NEED TO HAVE MY FUEL TANK REMOVED TO REPLACE THE SENDING UNIT LOCATED ON TOP OF THE FUEL TANK. THE DEALER WANTS TO CHARGE ME $90 FOR DIAGNOSTICS, AND THEN IT WILL COST $150 FOR PARTS AND $500 IN LABOR, TOTAL BILL $740. I PLAN TO DO IT MYSELF, PARTS ON LINE FOR $98.95, TO SAVE $650. I JUST HOPE I DON'T BLOW-UP MYSELF AND OUR HOUSE WHILE TRYING TO REPAIR THIS ISSUE. ALSO, CAR WILL NOT PASS INSPECTION UNTIL SERVICE LIGHT IS EXTINGUISHED (DUE BY END OF NOVEMBER). TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING NUMEROUS TIMES WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED. THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AFTER THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST THAT LOCATED FAILURES WITHIN THE CATALYTIC CONVERT, THE CAMSHAFT SENSOR, AND THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE. THE DEALER REPLACED ALL OF THE DEFECTIVE PARTS, BUT THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE VEHICLES CONTINUED TO STALL WITHOUT WARNING WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER FOR FURTHER EXAMINATION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER FILED REPORT 7134302. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 47,000.
THE FUEL LEVEL SENDING UNIT OF MY 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER FAILED AT APPROXIMATELY 45K MILES IN JULY 2010. THIS IS APPARENTLY A SIGNIFICANT ISSUE FOR SOME NISSAN VEHICLES AS THE INTERNET HAS HUNDREDS OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS. IN ADDITION, NISSAN RELEASED BULLETIN NTB07-069A REGARDING FAULTY FUEL LEVEL SENSORS. I AM CURRENTLY WORKING WITH NISSAN TO HAVE THEM RESOLVE THEIR FAULTY UNIT IN MY VEHICLE, HOWEVER INITIALLY THEY INDICATE THIS IS NOT A COVERED REPAIR DESPITE THE HUNDREDS OF ACTIVE COMPLAINTS I CAN FIND ALL OVER THE INTERNET. MY CONCERN IS THAT THE VEHICLE MAY RUN OUT OF FUEL WHILE ON THE ROAD, A MAJOR ISSUE FOR MY FAMILY'S SAFETY. *TR

THE MANUFACTURER CONFIRMED THAT HIS VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN RECALL 10V074000 FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER: STORAGE: FUEL GAUGE SYSTEM. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 33,000.
I HAVE A 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER. I PURCHASED IT BRAND NEW AT THE END OF 2005 AND HAVE BEEN THE ONLY OWNER. SOUNDS LIKE I HAVE THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM MOST OF THE PEOPLE LISTED HERE HAVE. LAST WEEK WHEN TAKING IN MY CAR FOR ITS ROUTINE SERVICE I WAS TOLD THAT BOTH MY RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION ARE OUT...THEY ARE DONE AND I NEED TO REPLACE THEM. IT IS COSTING ME APPROX. 5800 AND I HAVE BEEN SHOCKED AND SURPRISED BECAUSE I HAD NO PREVIOUS OBVIOUS SIGN THAT THIS WAS GOING ON. NOT EVEN STRANGE SOUNDS, SIGNS OF GETTING OVER-HEATED OR EVEN HAVING THE SENSOR LIGHT GO ON. I MEAN, IF THE SENSOR LIGHT GOES ON FOR SOMETHING AS SIMPLE AS LOW AIR PRESSURE IN MY TIRES, I WOULD ONLY ASSUME THAT FOR SOMETHING AS SERIOUS AS MY TRANSMISSION, IT WOULD LIGHT ON, TOO. APPARENTLY FLUID FROM THE RADIATOR GOT INTO THE TRANSMISSION, THAT HAS DAMAGED IT ALL AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. MY VEHICLE WARRANTY EXPIRED AT 75,000 MILES...ONLY 8,000 MILES AGO, BUT NOTHING CAN BE DONE NOW AND I HAVE TO PAY. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT THIS IS A GENERAL PROBLEM TO MANY NISSAN PATHFINDERS, MOSTLY YEARS 2005/2006. I HAVE ALWAYS TAKEN MY VEHICLE FOR SERVICE AT THE SAME DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED IT, AND NOW THIS. WORSE THING OF IT ALL, IT SEEMS TO ME THAT THESE SERVICE DEPARTMENTS DEAL FREQUENTLY WITH THIS ISSUE AND HAVE DONE NOTHING ABOUT CONTACTING NISSAN'S HQ DEPT. BECAUSE IT SOUNDS LIKE A MANUFACTURES MALFUNCTION. I CANNOT BELIEVE HOW FREQUENT MY SAME SITUATION HAS OCCURRED TO OTHER NISSAN CONSUMERS AND I STRONGLY FEEL LIKE SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE. 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER. FUEL GAUGE FLUCTUATES DRAMATICALLY AND INTERMITTENTLY AFTER FILLING TANK UP WITH GAS AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND OFF INTERMITTENTLY WHEN FUEL GAUGE ACTS UP. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME THE TANK IS FILLED WITH GAS. THE GAUGE WILL MOVE ANYWHERE BETWEEN EMPTY, WITH THE GAS LIGHT COMING ON, TO FULL. WIFE AND DAUGHTER THOUGHT THEY HAD A FUEL LEAK AND PULLED ONTO EMERGENCY SHOULDER ON BUSY INTERSTATE AT RUSH HOUR BECAUSE THE FUEL GAUGE DROPPED TO 1/4 TANK WITHIN A FEW MILES OF FILLING UP. I CALLED NISSAN AND THEY SAID THE 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER WAS RECALLED FOR THIS REASON, BUT I WAS TOLD MY VIN DID NOT QUALIFY SO THEY WILL NOT FIX THE PROBLEM AND THE VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY DUE TO MILEAGE. *TR

DRIVER SIDE SEATBELT DOES NOT WANT TO LATCH PROPERLY, IT LITERALLY TAKE 30 TRIES BEFORE IT ACCEPTS TO BUCKLE. *TR

THE FUEL GAUGE BOUNCED AROUND AND GAVE INACCURATE READINGS FOR THE ACTUAL FUEL LEVEL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS SIMILAR TO RECALL 10V075000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE: STORAGE: AUXILLARY TANK). THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 60,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 64,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20-30 MPH THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT THE FUEL LEVEL GAUGE HAD FAILED. HE THEN REFUELED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT HAD ILLUMINATED AND THE FUEL LEVEL GAUGE WAS FLUCTUATING FROM VARIOUS LEVEL READS. THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THE FUEL SENDING UNIT HAD FAILED AND WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT LOCATED NHTSA RECALL CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 10V075000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE: STORAGE: AUXILLARY TANK) BUT WAS ADVISED BY THE MANUFACTURER THAT HIS VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED WITH THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,024 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 52,900. UPDATED 10/13/10*BF ALSO, THE AIR BAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER STATED THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. UPDATED 10/19/10*JB
2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER WITH FUEL SENDING UNIT FAILURE. WHEN TANK IS FILLED UP, GAUGE WILL INDICATE EMPTY UNTIL THE VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF AND ON FOR APPX 8 TIMES. IF YOU ARE DRIVING CROSS COUNTRY, YOU WILL RUN OUT OF GAS AS I DID IF YOU DON'T CALCULATE MPG. NISSAN HAS NOT RECALLED THIS PART EVEN THOUGH IT IS OCCURRING OFTEN (NOTICED THROUGH ONLINE FORUMS) AND EVEN THOUGH KNOW IT IS FAULTY. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THE CONTACT HAD A INTERCOOLER PLACED ON THE TRANSMISSION AND THE TRANSMISSION WAS FLUSHED. THE CONTACT NOTICED A YEAR PRIOR THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD INTERMITTENTLY VIBRATE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 57000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT NHTSA RECALL CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 10V075000, FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE, STORAGE AUXILIARY TANK WAS RELATED TO THE FAILURE; HOWEVER, HER VIN WAS NOT A PART OF THE RECALL. NISSAN ADVISED HER THAT THEY WOULD NOT ACCEPT DIAGNOSTIC TEST RESULTS FROM AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER ALSO STATED THAT THE REPAIR COST WOULD BE AT THE OWNERS EXPENSE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 38,000.

I HAD MY NISSAN PATHFINDER RECOMMENDED SERVICED AT THE NISSAN DEALER PERFORMED ON JUNE 26 2010. THEY ADVISED ME MY TRUCK WAS IN GOOD CONDITION. AFTER LEAVING THE DEALER MY TRUCK STARTED JERKING AND I RETURNED TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER INFORMED ME MY TRANSMISSION AND RADIATOR WERE LEAKING AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. AFTER RESEARCHING ONLINE THERE IS SEVERAL COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER NISSAN PATHFINDER OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. I FEEL NISSAN SHOULD RECALL THE PATHFINDERS. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE THE PATHFINDER IS JERKING AND STALLING. *TR

IN 2007, THE FUEL LEVEL UNIT HAD TO BE REPLACED. IN 2009, THE FUEL MODULE HAD TO BE REPLACED. NOW, THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS HAVE BEGUN. THE DEALER REFUSES TO REPAIR EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE AWARE OF NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS FROM PATHFINDER OWNERS. I AM OUT OF MONEY AND PATIENCE WITH THIS VEHICLE. NISSAN SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL. *TR
2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER FUEL LEVEL SENSOR HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED AS HAVING FAILED. NISSAN HAS A RECALL ON SOME 2006 PATHFINDERS' FUEL LEVEL SENSOR, BUT MY VIN IS NOT ON THE LIST. HAVING A VEHICLE WITH A FAULTY FUEL LEVEL SENSOR IS A SAFETY HAZARD IN THAT ONE COULD RUN OUT OF FUEL AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT IF THE FUEL GAUGE IS READING THAT THERE IS FUEL IN THE TANK. LEAKING FLUID CAUSES WHAT FIRST STARTS OUT AS A RUMBLE DURING SHIFTING AROUND 40 MPH, THEN EVENTUALLY LEADS TO A SEIZE OF THE TRANSMISSION WHICH CAN OCCUR AT ANY TIME. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE UNTIL ISSUES CAN BE RESOLVED. THIS LEAK HAS RUINED MY TRANSMISSION REQUIRING A NEW TRANSMISSION/RADIATOR WHICH ADDS UP TO A PRICE OF AROUND 5-8000 DOLLARS. THIS WAS JUST OUT OF WARRANTY. AT ABOUT 50,000 MILES MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON AND THEY SAID THEY NEEDED TO REPLACE A FUEL SENDING SENSOR WHICH COST ME 300 DOLLARS WHEN IT WAS IN FOR THAT I NEEDED BOTH U JOINTS REPLACED BECAUSE THE STEERING WHEEL AND CAR WOBBLED HORRIBLY WHEN HITTING ABOUT 50 MILES AN HOUR. THIS WOBBLE WAS HORRIBLE AND THOUGHT IT WAS THE TIRES.. THEN HAD TO REPLACE TWO U JOINTS ( SECOND TIME SINCE OWNING THIS 2006 PATHFINDER).. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 72,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 84,000.
THERE WAS A RECALL ISSUED MARCH 3, 2010 BY NISSAN FOR MY 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER TO REPLACE A DEFECTIVE FUEL LEVEL SENDING UNIT. WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO GET MY FUEL LEVEL SENSOR REPLACED AT THEIR WOODBURY NJ NISSAN DEALERSHIP IN APRIL 2010, BECAUSE OF A FAILURE OF THE SENSOR, I WAS ADVISED THAT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL AND THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR. OWNER REQUESTED ECM RECALL BE PERFORMED NO LESS THAN 4 TIMES, SERVICE MANAGER ADVISED ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS NOT RELATED TO ECM AND WILL NOT REPLACE, THEN STATES NO KNOWLEDGE OF RECALL, THEN CLAIMS OWNERS ECM RECALL WAS PREVIOUSLY PERFORMED. COMPLAINT LOGGED WITH NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS. 5 DAYS LATER OWNER TOLD VEHICLE READY, OWNER GOES TO PICK UP THEN TOLD VEHICLE IS NOT READY AS THERE IS STILL ELECTRICAL ISSUE. I OWN A 06 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THERE IS A FUEL SENSOR RECALL ON THE 06 PATHFINDERS. THIS SENSOR ESTIMATES HOW MUCH GAS YOU HAVE LEFT IN THE TANK. APPROXIMATELY AT 1/2 TANK, THE FUEL LEVEL GAUGE SHOW THE FUEL ON EMPTY. FOR SOME REASON MY PATHFINDER IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. I WAS TOLD BY NISSAN THAT NOT ALL 06 PATHFINDERS WERE PART OF THE RECALL EVEN THOUGH I AM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. NISSAN FINALLY SAID THAT MY EXTENDED WARRANTY (THAT I PAID FOR) WOULD COVER THE SENSOR. MY OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE WOULD BE A $50 DEDUCTIBLE. I ASKED HOW MANY OTHER PATHFINDERS WERE MADE WITH THE SAME BATCH OF FUEL SENSORS/ IS ANYONE ELSE HAVING TROUBLE OR AM I THE ONLY ONE. NATIONAL HEADQUARTERS CONSUMERS AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT: 10/10/10 IN THE PAST FEW MONTHS BEGINNING MAY 2010 HAVE BEEN ATTEMPTING TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE NISSAN REP. FOR THE NORTHERN REGION. I WAS RECENTLY INFORMED BY REP IN SEPT 2010 THAT NISSAN REFUSED MY REQUEST FOR ASSISTANCE IN REPLACING THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER IN MY 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER THAT CURRENTLY, AS OF SEPT 24, 2010 HAS 86,000 MILES. YOU SEE BACK IN APRIL 14, 2010 I WAS INFORMED BY NALLEY NISSAN OF DECATUR GA. THAT I NEEDED TO HAVE THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER REPLACED ON MY 2006 PATHFINDER, AND THAT THEY COULD DO THE JOB FOR $1,200 -$1,500 AT THE TIME MY VEHICLE HAD APPROXIMATELY 80,000 MILES OR LESS YET WHEN I HAD WORK DONE AT NALLEY NISSAN ON APRIL 14, 2010 THE MILEAGE WAS DOCUMENTED AS BY NALLEY NISSAN AS BEING 125,000 IN AN ATTEMPT AS NOT TO REPAIR MY VEHICLE UNDER THE MANUFACTURES WARRANTY FREE OF COST. ON MAY 24, 2010 I HAD A SECOND OPINION DONE AS WELL AS SOME REPAIR WORK DONE AND AT THIS TIME 1 MONTH LATER MY CAR READ 81,254 MILES READING ON THE ODOMETER KNOWING ALL OF THIS HAD TRANSPIRED THE NISSAN REP INFORMED ME THAT NISSAN WOULD NOT REPLACE OR ASSIST IN GETTING THIS MATTER TAKEN CARE OF. IS IT COMMON THAT THE CONVERTER SHOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED IN A CAR SO NEW. AS WELL AS THE RECORDS BEING FALSIFIED SO MY VEHICLE WOULD NOT QUALIFY FOR REPLACEMENT OF THE CONVERTER. IT IS VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO HAVE HAD 125,000 MILES ON 4/15/10, AND 81,254 MILES ON 5/24/10 NOT TO MENTION THAT AS OF SEPT 24, 2010 MY READING IS 86,000 MILES. ALSO, I HAVE BEEN INFORMED THAT A CODE FOR THE GAS SENSOR IS BEING DISPLAYED, THE FUEL READING SAYS EMPTY YET I HAVE JUST PUT $45.00 WORTH OF GAS IN THE TANK ALSO THESE PARTS WOULD NOT BE KEPT IN STOCK IF NOT FOR FREQUENT REPLACEMENT OF SAID PARTS. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6) NISSAN HAS ISSUED A RECALL FOR THESE VEHICLES, BUT MY VIN NUMBER WAS NOT INCLUDED ([XXX]) 2006 PATHFINDER. THE RECALL BEGAN MARCH 22, 2010 FOR FUEL SENDING UNITS. VEHICLE SHOWS 1/4 TANK WHEN VEHICLE IS ACTUALLY EMPTY. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE FIXED BY NISSAN AS WELL. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH WHEN THE FUEL GAUGE AND FUEL SENSOR MALFUNCTIONED WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO STOP RUNNING EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS ONE QUARTER TANK OF FUEL. ALSO, THERE WAS AN ILLUMINATION OF THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WITH NO REPAIRS PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,100. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 29,200. THE CONSUMER STATED NISSAN ACKNOWLEDGED THERE WAS A RECALL FOR HIS MAKE, MODEL AND YEAR. HOWEVER, THE ASSEMBLY DATE OF THE PART WAS NOT INCLUDED. UPDATED 06/30/10.*JB
