TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, SHE NOTICED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE WARNING INDICATOR WAS ILLUMINATED CONTINUOUSLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSIS, WHO STATED THAT THE FUEL LEVER SENOR WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THERE THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 10V075000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) BUT WAS ADVISED BY THE MANUFACTURER THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL CAMPAIGN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER EQUIPPED WITH MICHELIN LATITUDE TOUR TIRES, SIZE: P265/65R17. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TREAD ON ALL FOUR TIRES SEPARATED AND WERE CRACKING. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT ALL THE TIRES LOST AIR PRESSURE CONTINUOUSLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE AND TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER SE THE RADIATOR SEEMS TO HAVE A BAD LEAK AND BAD SMELL, MOTOR KEEPS OVER HEATING CAUSING IT NOT TO BE DRIVEN UNTIL MOTOR HAS COOLED OFF, I NEED TO KEEP PUTTING WATER IN RADIATOR. THE TRANSMISSION SEEMS TO JERK AND MAKES A LOUD SOUND WHEN CHANGING SHIFTS AND DRIVING. THE MOTOR ALSO HAS A SQUEAKY SOUND WHEN DRIVING. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR FOR REPAIR AND THE SAME THING HAPPEN AGAIN ONLY THIS TIME EVEN WORSE I CAN NOT AFFORD THE HIGH NISSAN SERVICE AND PART PRICES. I AM STILL PAYING ON THIS CAR, NISSAN SHOULD FIX THE PROBLEM AT NO CHARGE IF THERE IS A DEFECT THAT CAUSED SO MUCH TROUBLE TO MY CAR NOT TO MENTIONED THE SAFETY OF MY THREE CHILDREN AND I. I WAS DRIVING MY TRUCK ON THE EXPRESSWAY. THE PAST FEW DAYS THERE HAS BEEN A VIBRATION, A CLUNKING NOISE AND VERY SLOW ACCELERATION. UNTIL RECENTLY, THERE HAVE BEEN NO SIGNS OF ENGINE PROBLEMS. TODAY ON THE EXPRESSWAY THE TRUCK STARTED VIBRATING BADLY AND LOST ACCELERATION. I WAS ABLE TO COAST OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD BUT I ALMOST CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. I HAD AN APPOINTMENT SCHEDULE WITH NISSAN ON FRIDAY DUE TO THE RECENT SYMPTOMS; HOWEVER, AFTER THIS MORNING I TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP. I SPOKE WITH SOMEONE AT THE SHOP WHO INDICATED TAN EXTENDED WARRANTY WAS ISSUED FOR RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. I NEVER RECEIVED A LETTER FROM NISSAN AND I CERTAINLY WOULD HAVE BROUGHT THE TRUCK IN FOR REPAIR. I ALMOST CAUSED A VERY SERIOUS ACCIDENT. *TR
COOLANT LEAKING INTO TRANSMISSION CAUSING FAILURE AND SLIPPAGE. WHEN COMING TO ABRUPT STOPS TRANSMISSION "JERKS" AND "BUCKS" ALSO, UPON ACCELERATING, TRANSMISSION SLIPS AND IS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE PROPERLY. SAFETY ISSUE WITH PROPER DRIVING CAPABILITY. *TR
I WAS SHOCKED TO FIND OUT THAT MY TRANSMISSION AND RADIATOR NEEDED REPLACED AFTER SUCH LOW MILEAGE. DEALER SAID IT WAS A DESIGN DEFECT AND IT WOULD BE COVERED BY NISSAN WHO EXTENDED THE WARRANTIES ON VEHICLES WITH THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE OF A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. WHAT DISTURBS ME IS THAT I WAS TOLD I COULD HAVE HAD A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE IN MY PATHFINDER. I LITERALLY COULD HAVE PULLED OUT ONTO A HIGHWAY AND MY TRANSMISSION MIGHT HAVE FAILED. WITH 3 SMALL CHILDREN WHO RIDE IN THE BACKSEAT, THIS MIGHT HAVE RESULTED IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. HOW CAN THIS ADMITTED DEFECT NOT RESULT IN A RECALL SO ALL AFFECTED VEHICLES COULD BE INSPECTED FOR SAFETY??? AND MY "NEW" REMANUFACTURED TRANSMISSION HAS A VERY LIMITED WARRANTY NOW , NOT THE 60,000. ON MY ORIGINAL TRANSMISSION SO I'M AFRAID OF FUTURE REPAIR COSTS. SO UNFAIR!!! *TR
AS MY WIFE AND I WITH OUR 5 CHILDREN WERE ON OUR WAY TO CHURCH, DRIVING AT 45MPH THE CAR STARTED JERKING DROPPING AT 20MPH WITH TRAFFIC BEHIND US ON A TWO WAY HIGHWAY WE HAD TO PULL OVER ON A DIRT EMBANKMENT. WE TOOK THE CAR TO NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND THE SERVICE REP ESTIMATED THE COST OF $9,000. PROBLEM IN RADIATOR CRACK LINE INSIDE TRANSMISSION FLUID COOLER. ANTIFREEZE LEAK INTO TRANSMISSION CAUSING DAMAGE. *TR
I RECENTLY BOUGHT A USED 2006 PATHFINDER. I WAS AT A PARK ON DAY AND A GUY CAME UP TO ME ASKING ME IF I HAD ANY TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS WITH MINE. I TOLD TO HIM THAT I HAD ONLY HAD IT FOR A FEW WEEKS BUT HAD NOT NOTICED ANY PROBLEMS. WELL HE WENT ON TO TELL ME THAT HE HAD TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS DUE TO COOLANT LEAKING INTO TRANSMISSION AND HAD SPENT 3,500 IN GETTING IT FIXED. IN WHICH HE HAD TO REPLACE RADIATOR, REBUILD TRANSMISSION AND TRANSMISSION COMPUTER PART. HE HAD A FRIEND THAT DONE THE WORK FOR FREE AND HE ONLY HAD TO PAY FOR PARTS. SO OF COURSE WITH JUST BUYING OUR PATHFINDER I CAME HOME AND TOLD MY HUSBAND THE NEWS AND TO LOOK IT UP ON THE INTERNET BECAUSE THERE WERE SO MANY OTHERS WITH THIS SAME PROBLEM. SO AFTER LOOKING ON THE INTERNET HE WENT AND CHECKED THE FLUIDS AND OF COURSE WE HAD TRANSMISSION FLUID IN OUR RADIATOR. WE HAVEN'T EVEN PAID ON OUR TRUCK 6 MONTHS YET AND ALREADY HAVE A MAJOR COST TO HAVE REPAIRS MADE. IT IS SO CRAZY TO SEE ALL THESE PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM AND NISSAN WILL DO NOTHING ABOUT IT AND THEY CLAIM TO HAVE GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE????!!!! I WILL LET ANYONE AND EVERYONE I KNOW OF THIS PROBLEM SO THAT THEY TO CAN MAKE A CLAIM AGAINST NISSAN SO MAYBE THEY WILL HAVE THIS PROBLEM FIXED SINCE IF YOU CALL ANY DEALERSHIP THIS A KNOWN PROBLEM. *TR
THE TRANSMISSION FAILED DUE TO THE ON GOING PROBLEM WITH NISSAN. COOLANT IS LEAKING INTO TRANSMISSION AND RUINING THEM. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THESE NOW. *TR
500 MILES AWAY FROM HOME ON VACATION. WENT FOR ROUTINE OIL CHANGE ONLY TO FIND TRANSMISSION FLUID IN THE RADIATOR AND COOLANT IN THE TRANSMISSION. HAD TO PURCHASE A NEW RADIATOR AND HAVE BOTH SYSTEMS FLUSHED FOR A TOTAL OF 1,300.00 DOLLARS. THE TRANSMISSION SEEMED GOOD ON THE WAY HOME, BUT WOULD LIKE TO BE REIMBURSED THE 1,300.00 AND HAVE SOME PIECE OF MIND THAT NISSAN WILL COVER THE TRANSMISSION IF IT GOES OUT. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE FUEL GAUGE WAS NOT PROVIDING THE ACCURATE READING LEVELS. ADDITIONALLY, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 133,000.
WE PURCHASED OUR PATHFINDER FROM A DEALERSHIP JUNE 1, 2012. ON JULY 2, 2013 WE WERE DRIVING BACK HOME AND THE TRANSMISSION STARTED TO SLIP. UPON RESEARCHING ONLINE IMMEDIATELY WHEN WE GOT HOME, WE FOUND THAT MANY, MANY OTHERS HAD THE SAME ISSUE AND THAT IT IS CAUSED BY FAULTY DESIGN OF THE RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION. THE RADIATOR CRACKS AND LEAKS DIRECTLY INTO THE TRANSMISSION SO THERE IS NO WARNING THAT THERE IS AN ISSUE UNTIL IT'S TOO LATE. THE NEXT MORNING I IMMEDIATELY DROVE IT TO OUR NEAREST NISSAN DEALER TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT. THEY INFORMED ME AFTER MY DESCRIPTION OF WHAT WAS GOING ON THAT INDEED, THAT IS PROBABLY WHAT WAS WRONG BUT THEY COULDN'T GET ME IN TO CHECK IT OUT FOR ANOTHER 6 DAYS (AND IT WOULD BE $109) TO DIAGNOSE. THEY ALSO INFORMED ME THAT NISSAN HAS ISSUED A CONDITIONAL WARRANTY OF THEM. UP TO 80,000 MILES, THEY COVER ANY EXPENSE PAST $2,500. UP TO 90,00 MILES, THEY COVER ANY EXPENSE PAST $3,000. UP TO 100,00 THEY COVER ANY EXPENSE PAST $3,500. THERE IS NO COVERAGE PAST 100,000 MILES AND THE AVERAGE COST TO REPAIR IS $7000.00. OUR TRANSMISSION FAILED AT 108,000 MILES. NOW WE ARE STUCK PAYING OUT OF POCKET FOR A FLAWED DESIGN THAT NISSAN ACKNOWLEDGES IS THEIR FAULT. HOW IS THERE NOT A MANDATORY RECALL ON THESE MODELS AND NISSAN NOT REQUIRED TO REPLACE THESE ISSUES IN FULL ON THEIR DIME.. FOR THEIR MISTAKE? THE CONDITIONAL WARRANTY OFFERED IS A JOKE AND I AM INFURIATED THAT NISSAN IS NOT COVERING OUR FLAWED VEHICLE ALSO. I PURCHASED A 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER BECAUSE I HAD A NISSAN ALTIMA THAT I LOVED BUT NEEDED A BIGGER VEHICLE. UPON STARTUP, LOUD WHIRLING SOUND EMANATES FROM ENGINE. WHEN ENGINE IS SHUT OFF, THERE IS A "WIND DOWN" SOUND AS IF A ROTATING PART IS GRADUALLY SLOWING TO A STOP. MECHANIC STATES IT IS A TIMING CHAIN GUIDE FAILURE - ADVISES TO REPAIR VEHICLE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE OR NOT DRIVE IF YOU CANNOT AFFORD REPAIR. I, ALONG WITH MY DAUGHTER AND FRIEND WAS TRAVELING BACK FROM FLORIDA, MY NISSAN PATHFINDER STARTED TO JERK AND WOULDN'T PULL, WE BY THE GRACE OF GOD MADE IT HOME AND WHEN I GOT HERE I TURNED MY TRUCK OFF. MY HUSBAND ASKED ME TO PULL THE HOOD AND HE CHECK ALL THE FLUIDS IN THE VEHICLE. I SWITCH THE CAR ON AND IT WOULD SAY ANYTHING. WE CHECK EVERYTHING AND NOTHING HELP. I DID GOT MY VEHICLE TOWED TO FIVESTAR NISSAN AFTER FINDING OUT THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE ECM RELAY,. THEY REPLACE IT AND AFTER THEN FOUND OUT THAT IT STILL DID NOT WORK. THE DEALER CALLED AND STATED THAT IT WAS THE RADIATOR AND THE COOLANT. THEY SAID WE WERE OUT OF WARRANTY AND THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. I JUST PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE 2 1/2 YEARS AGO AND STILL GOT TO PAY FOR IT. THIS IS NOT GOOD BUSINESS. I NEED HELP. I NEED JUSTICE FOR ALL THE ONES LIKE MYSELF WHO GO TO WORK, MAKE A LIVING, AND EXPECT THAT WHEN I MAKE A PURCHASE THAT PEOPLE WILL STAND BEHIND WHAT IS RIGHT. *TR

VEHICLE OVERHEATED AND RADIATOR FLUID CONTAMINATED THE TRANSMISSION. I SPOKE WITH NISSAN AND ASSERTED THAT THIS IS A KNOWN FACTORY DEFECT. NISSAN REFUSES TO HONOR OR WARRANTY REPAIR COSTS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT HE ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO MOVE. WHEN HE DOWN SHIFT, THE TRANSMISSION AND THE VEHICLE THEN BEGAN TO ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THE TRANSMISSION AND RADIATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 97,000.
DRIVING AT A SUBSTANTIAL SPEED OF 40MPH CAR JUST STOPPED EVEN THOUGH CAR WAS STILL RUNNING. RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION WENT ALL OF A SUDDEN. WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED. HAD TOWED TO NISSAN DEALER IN TURNERSVILLE NJ. THEY STATED THAT IT WAS 12,000 OF EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT WAS ISSUED A YEAR OR SO AGO. I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED OF A CLASS ACTION SUIT AND THAT THIS PROBLEM WOULD OCCUR ALL OF A SUDDEN AS I WAS DRIVING. APPARENTLY A FAULTY RADIATOR CAUSED FLUID TO GO INTO TRANSMISSION AND DESTROY IT MAKING CAR JUST STOP RUNNING IN THE MIDDLE OF A HIGHWAY. THE REGIONAL OFFICE TOLD ME I DID NOT GET A NOTICE BECAUSE I WAS THE SECOND OWNER. I WAS WILLING TO PAY A $3,000.00 COPAY BUT THEY WOULD NOT EVEN APPROVE THAT. NOW THEY WANT 5,900 TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION AND RADIATOR. THE CAR IS ONLY WORTH 8 OR 9 THOUSAND. I AM 67 YEARS OLD AND DO NOT HAVE THAT KIND OF MONEY. I AM IN A HOPELESS SITUATION. AFTER DRIVING AROUND I HAD MILKY SUBSTANCE COMING OUT OF THE OVER FLOW. WHEN I CHECKED IT, THE TRANSMISSION WAS DRY AND IT HAD MIXED IN THE WITH RADIATOR FLUID. ON A SHORT TRIP BEFORE IT WAS REALIZED WHAT HAD HAPPEN, THE TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING AND SHIFTING HARD. *TR

I WAS PREPARING TO MERGE ONTO THE HIGHWAY, I SLOWED DOWN TO YIELD TO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. WHEN THE GAP BETWEEN ONCOMING CARS WAS LARGE ENOUGH I ACCELERATED AND PROCEEDED TO MERGE. INSTEAD OF ACCELERATING MY CAR BEGAN TO RUMBLE AND MOVE SLOWLY. INSTEAD OF PROPERLY MERGING ONTO THE HIGHWAY IT JUST SLOWLY ROLLED INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. I BECAME HORRIFIED AND I WAS AFRAID TO DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAY, AND I HAD TO REVERSE TO BACK OUT. I TOOK BACK ROADS TO NISSAN DEALER. THE CAR WOULD RUMBLE AND VIBRATE AND DRIVE SLOWLY AS IF IT WAS STUCK IN 1ST GEAR. DEALER DETERMINED THAT "TRANSMISSION OIL MIXED WITH ANTIFREEZE" DUE TO "COOLER HOSE CRACKED AND READY TO BREAK" RENDERING TRANSMISSION INCAPABLE OF PROPER OPERATION. NISSAN DEALER REPLACED TRANSMISSION, RADIATOR, AND FLUSHED COOLING SYSTEM.
I NOTICED A SHUDDER WHEN THE CAR WAS SHIFTING, MY MECHANIC TEST DROVE IT AND SENT ME TO THE TRANSMISSION SHOP. THE GENTLEMAN THERE TOLD ME THAT IT WAS A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. HE ALSO SAID THAT THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS YEAR PATHFINDER. HE THOUGHT THAT SINCE THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM THAT NISSAN HAD EXTENDED THE WARRANTY. I LATER FOUND THAT THE WARRANTY HAD BEEN EXTENDED BUT NOT ENOUGH TO INCLUDE MY TRUCK. VERY DISAPPOINTED IN NISSAN, I HAVE OWNED 4 PATHFINDERS AND SEVERAL OTHER CARS MADE BY NISSAN. I THOUGHT THEY WOULD TAKE BETTER CARE OF LOYAL CUSTOMERS. *TR
CAR STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC GOING UP A HILL AND OVERHEATED AND HAD WHITE FOAM DRIPPING FROM THE ENGINE AND UNDERNEATH. THE COOLANT AND TRANSMISSION FLUID CROSS CONTAMINATED AND IT RUINED THE RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION. I REPLACED THE RADIATOR AND HAD THE TRANSMISSION FLUSHED. CAR WORKED UNTIL 8-30-13, WHEN VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHUDDER, RPM GAUGE RAN TO 5000, VEHICLE HAD NO POWER ON A HIGHWAY CAUSING A POTENTIAL SAFETY ISSUE. A CRASH COULD HAVE ENSUED. HAD CAR TOWED TO DEALER. THE TRANSMISSION IS OUT. NOW I AM FACED WITH A $3000 FEE/CO-PAY, FOR SOMETHING I DIDN'T CAUSE! NISSAN NEEDS HELD RESPONSIBLE. *JB
MY WIFE REPORTED HER PATHFINDER HESITATING, NOTICEABLE LACK IN POWER, AND A DECREASE IN MPG. BEFORE OUR FAMILY WAS ABOUT TO TRAVEL TO ANOTHER STATE (NEW MEXICO TO COLORADO) I DECIDED TO DO MY OWN LITTLE PRE TRIP INSPECTION. I PULLED THE AIR FILTER AND BLEW IT OUT WITH AIR, CHECKED THE OIL DIPSTICK AND IT READ IN OPERATING RANGE, WHEN I PULLED THE TRANSMISSION DIPSTICK IT WAS COVERED WITH CONTAMINATED OIL. THE ENGINE COOLANT IS MIXING WITH THE TRANSMISSION FLUID IN THE HEAT EXCHANGER COOLER. IF THIS VEHICLE IS DRIVEN ANY LONGER TRANSMISSION FAILURE IS IMMINENT. *TR
MY NISSAN CAME TO A STOP WHILE DRIVING HOME. I WAS GOING NO MORE THAN 30 MPH AND MY CAR STARTED TO SHAKE AND THEN IT STOPPED AND WOULD NOT MOVE ANYMORE. I TOOK IT TO A SHOP AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION AND WOULD HAVE TO REBUILT IT. THE SHOP KEPT MY CAR FOR A MONTH AND WAS UNABLE TO FIX IT, EVEN AFTER REBUILDING THE TRANSMISSION. I FINALLY TOOK IT TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND THEY STATED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS THE RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION. THEY WOULD FIX IT, BUT IT WOULD COST ME $6,700. BECAUSE MY CAR IS OVER MILEAGE IN THE EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT NISSAN HAD OFFERED, I WOULD GET NO FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO FIX MY CAR--EVEN THOUGH THIS IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. THIS IS JUST OUTRAGEOUS AND IRRESPONSIBLE THAT NISSAN WILL NOT RECALL THE TRANSMISSION AND RADIATOR PROBLEM. LUCKILY I WAS NOT TRAVELING ON THE EXPRESSWAY AT THE TIME THE TRANSMISSION FAILED OR THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN FATALITIES. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE A NISSAN EVER AGAIN!! *TR
RADIATOR FAILED ALLOWING COOLANT TO CONTAMINATE TRANSMISSION CAUSING IT TO FAIL AS WELL. I REALLY LIKE THIS VEHICLE AND I FEEL NISSAN SHOULD PAY TO FIX ALL OF THESE AFFECTED SINCE IT IS A KNOWN EQUIPMENT FAILURE AND HAS HAPPENED AT SUCH A WIDE RANGE OF MILEAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
LESS THAN ONE WEEK AFTER HITTING 100K MILES, I STARTED HEARING A NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK. AS I ENTERED THE HIGHWAY THE CAR LOST ALL POWER AND WOULDN'T CHANGE GEARS, THE ENGINE WOULD REV. BUT THE CAR WOULDN'T KICK INTO GEAR. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO COAST OFF HIGHWAY SAFELY (DURING RUSH HOUR & WITH ALL OF THE ONCOMING TRAFFIC, IT WAS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION TO BE IN) ON THE LAST EXIT BEFORE THE TOLL BRIDGE (WHICH IS OVER A MILE LONG WITH NO SHOULDER & IF I GOT STUCK THERE, I WOULD HAVE RECEIVED TICKET FOR OVER $600). I HAVE KEEP EXCELLENT CARE OF THIS CAR, TAKING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR SUGGESTED SERVICES AND NOW I'VE NOW FOUND THAT NISSAN HAS BEEN AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND RATHER THAN RECALLING THE PARTS, OR MAKING SURE THAT THE OWNERS OF THESE VEHICLES ARE AWARE OF THIS, THEY HAVE PROVIDED AN EXTENDED THE WARRANTY. I'VE ALSO FOUND AS THEY KNOW ABOUT THIS PROBLEM THEY SET THE EXTENDED WARRANTY AT TWO DIFFERENT LEVELS AND 80K AND 100K AND THAT THEY ARE EXPECTING MOST FAILURE OVER THE 100K MARK AND SETTING THINGS UP THAT WAY, THEY DON'T EXPECT TO HONOR ANY LIABILITY WITH MOST OF THESE FAILURES DUE TO THEIR FAULTY ENGINEERING. I'VE BEEN TRYING TO GET THEM TO WORK WITH ME BUT SINCE I NOW HAVE 100,225 MILES (JUST BARLEY OVER THE 100K MARK!!!) THEY REFUSE TO HELP WITH ANY OF THE EXTENDED WARRANTY ASSISTANCE (WHICH I WOULD STILL HAVE TO PAY $3000 BEFORE TAX AS A DEDUCTIBLE). THIS IS A VERY COSTLY REPAIR, WHEN I INITIALLY WAS LOOKING INTO PURCHASING A NISSAN, I HAD THE UNDERSTANDING THAT THEY WERE RELIABLE AND IF TAKEN CARE OF WOULD RUN FOR WELL OVER 200K AND THAT NISSAN WOULD STAND BY THEIR PRODUCT. DEALING WITH THIS SITUATION AND THROUGH RESEARCH I NOW SEE THAT THEIR BOTTOM LINE IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN CUSTOMER SATISFACTION AND SAFETY! *TR
TRANSMISSION FAILURE. I HAVE SERVICE RECORDS FROM REPUTABLE MECHANIC SHOP THAT THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEM STARTED AT $77K MILES. NISSAN DOES NOT CARE. THE COURT ORDERED SETTLEMENT (CLASS ACTION SUIT) LETS THEM OFF THE HOOK AFTER $80K MILES. $2,500 COPAY TO FIX A PROBLEM CAUSED BY RADIATOR LEAKING INTO TRANSMISSION. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AT DEALERSHIP (WHY I NEVER WENT TO THEM FOR REPAIRS). THEY TRY TO CHARGE FOR STUFF UNDER WARRANTY (MY FUEL GAUGE ISSUE A FEW YEARS BACK). THE MECHANIC REPLACED THE RADIATOR AND FLUSHED THE TRANSMISSION HOWEVER, SIX MONTHS AFTER THE REPAIR THE VEHICLE STALLED AS THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO START THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL MECHANIC, WHO STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
MY 06 NISSAN PATHFINDER STARTING SHAKING AND MAKING A SHUTTERING NOISE AT 40MPH. ALSO A SQUEAKING NOISE COMING FROM THE UNDERCARRIAGE AT LOWER SPEEDS. I TOOK MY PATHFINDER TO THE DEALER TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT. AFTER A FEW HOURS THE DEALERSHIP CALLED AND TOLD ME IT WAS A DEFECT IN THE TRANSMISSION COOLER BUILT INSIDE THE RADIATOR. A LINE IN THE COOLER CRACKED LETTING RADIATOR FLUID AND TRANSMISSION FLUID TO MIX TOGETHER AND RUN ALL THROUGH BOTH MY COOLING AND TRANSMISSION SYSTEMS. I HAVE 75,000 MILES AND WAS TOLD I'M UNDER THE 80,000 MILE WARRANTY FOR THESE REPAIRS. I WAS TOLD I WOULD NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION AND RADIATOR ALONG WITH A NEW THERMOSTAT AND GASKET. I'M ONE OF THE LUCKY ONES THAT WILL NOT HAVE TO COME OUT OF POCKET FOR THESE REPAIRS. I'VE BEEN READING POST AFTER POST ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE HAVING THIS SAME PROBLEM THAT ARE OVER THE MILEAGE WARRANTY AND ARE HAVING TO PAY CO-PAYS AND SOME THAT HAD TO PAY THE FULL REPAIR BILL. I ADDRESSED THE ISSURE WITH THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT SEVERAL TIMES PRIOR TO THE TRANSIMISSION FAILURE AND WAS TOLD THERE WERE NO PROBLEMS. I CONTACTED NISSAN NORTH AMERICA AND THEY REFUSED ANY ASSISTANCE WITH THE $5,800 REPAIR ESTIMATE. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL OF ALL VEHICLES WHEN THESE PROBLEMS WERE IDENTIFIED. *TR
VEHICLE WOULD BEGIN TO SHAKE AND LOSE POWER AT EXACTLY 43 MILES PER HOUR. TO ADJUST, YOU WOULD HAVE TO RELEASE THE GAS PEDAL, SLOW DOWN AND THEN PRESS THE GAS PEDAL AGAIN TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. CLEARLY THIS CAUSES HIGHWAY ISSUES WHEN ENTERING OR EXITING ON RAMPS OR STREETS THAT HAVE A POSTING OF 40 TO 45MPH. NOT HAVING THE POWER TO ACCELERATE OR DECELERATE, PUTS NOT ONLY MY FAMILY AT RISK, BUT THOSE AROUND US AS WELL! WHEN THE ISSUE WAS DIAGNOSED, I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS A NISSAN EXTENDED WARRANTY ISSUE INVOLVING THE RADIATOR FLUID LEAKING INTO THE TRANSMISSION. MY VEHICLE HAS 82000 MILES (2000 MILES OVER, WHICH WOULD HAVE QUALIFIED FOR FREE SERVICE) WHICH MEANT THAT I WAS NOW LIABLE FOR THE $2500 DOLLAR DEDUCTIBLE FOR THEIR FAULTY EQUIPMENT! *TR
